For me, personally, it's kinda irrelevant what everyone else is doing unless they're my friends. By which I mean... does a good portion of the fandom hates my favorite ship or I think they ship it in a "wrong way"? Well that does make me a bit sad, but I'm not about to make posts like "people should ship this more/ship this in the exact way I want", I'm not their mother, they can all do whatever they want.

I am, however, gonna be dramatically sad and devastated if my friends hate it lmao. Mostly because I won't be able to talk to them about it. I respect it if they don't like it, obviously, everyone has their own perspective and I'm not the type of person to try and force things down people's throats, not my friends because I love them and respect their opinions, and not strangers because literally why should I care?

I just don't understand people who are complaining left and right about things like that. "People are not doing this in the way I want", dearheart, do it yourself, please. You're making me want to do the exact opposite of what you like.
