#i think some talks of “cultural imperialism” is not entirely correctly analyzed academically#because some people were receptive to certain ideas and movements#because you know... that's how culture works#i will say printing in “islamic” book history spaces is less of a big deal than in european book history#i mean its still kinda important#but i think a lot of book history analysis fails to recognize how printing presses worked and still work in tandem to hand made manuscripts#i put “islamic” in quotes because its a contested term among a lot of people and is pretty loosely defined but it is the usual term#for these sorts of things
