For the purposes of this tournament, "Man" and "Guy" are defined as any bi-pedal humanoid male character played by a man. As such, characters belonging to non-human races such as Hobbits, Orcs, Elves, Demons, Fauns, Werewolves etc. ARE admissible, and, indeed, encouraged.

If you have propaganda you forgot to include in your submission, just hold onto it and send it in an ask after the Tournament begins.

You may submit as many hot men as you like but please submit only ONE ENTRANT per submission.

Do not hesitate to submit ANY hot guy you think may qualify, no matter how popular he is. There is no such thing as a shoo-in with these tournaments. If you think "Someone MUST have submitted him already!" Everyone else is probably thinking that too and then he may well NEVER get submitted and we don't want that.

Do not worry about how many submissions your hot guy might have had already--I need to get a sense of who the strongest contenders are in order to fairly seed the draws, and the best way to do that is volume of submissions.

We are voting on the hotness of the characters. While the actors who portray them are of course a major factor in this, we are not voting on the actors themselves, therefore propaganda pertaining to the actors real lives (aside from anecdotes relating to their portrayal of the character) is not admissible.

By that same token, in the case of historical figures (e.g. Henry VIII) we are judging hotness based on the fictionalized portrayals of them in these properties, not on historical fact.

Regarding immortal/time-travelling/dimension-hopping/extremely long-lived characters, regardless of when the character was born, the main action**** of the story must take place within the Medieval Period (see dates listed at the top of this post) or Medieval-esque fantasy fantasy realm in order for them to be eligible for submission. As such, characters like the Pevensie brothers (The Chronicles of Narnia) and Ash Williams (Army of Darkness) are admissible, but Asgardians (the MCU Thor films) are not.

I, as the Administrator and Master of Revels of this tournament, am exercising discretion in the admittance of characters from works by Shakespeare, since many of them have no set date.

Re: characters adapted from books/written works - Book quotes by/ about your character are not admissible as Propaganda for their tv/ movie counterparts unless said quotes were also written into the show/movie.

This is a blog for making polls about giant/tiny size headcanons about characters from all kinds of different media, run by me, the one-and-only @tiny-brain. Yeah, you've probably (never) heard of me. I (don't) get around.

Each poll will be about a different character from a different piece of media, determining whether they should shrink, grow, or if they'd work better as a full-on sizeshifter!

WHAT UNDERTALE HUMAN SOUL WOULD THEY HAVE?

(run by @sayakamikian!) the premise of this blog is pretty simple, just vote on what undertale human SOUL trait a character would have! it doesn't matter if they're not human/probably wouldn't have a human SOUL if they existed in the undertale universe, it's just hypothetical. (yes, that means you can even submit monsters and darkners from the utdr universe! the only limitation is humans who already have canon SOULs which is... not a lot of characters out there, lol)

i am not consistently motivated and am pretty busy in general, so my posting schedule is a little sporadic. sorry about that! this blog is NOT dead until i say it is, and that will not be for a long time, i promise that B)

for reference, the SOUL traits are as follows:

red = [unknown trait]. a common misconception is that the red soul is canonically determination, but there's nothing in canon that actually says this, determination is explicitly possessed by all SOULs and not exclusive to red, and determination is never directly linked to red and is more associated with gold in-game than anything! so, even if red = determination is probably the most widespread popular interpretation, don't assume that's what it has to be. other interpretations that are popular/that i personally like are that red = love, red = hope, red = freedom, red = no trait in particular or an equal balance of traits, etc... and, of course, there's red = ball game lmao. since it's ultimately unknown, though, if you're stuck you can probably think of red as the equivalent of baldness or vanilla extract?? go wild! orange = bravery yellow = justice green = kindness cyan = patience blue = integrity purple = perseverance

ART CONTEST!!! - Frieza and Frost’s Fashion Show!!

So, I’m very much burnt out from writing (at least from my big stories, I’ll probably still drop occasional oneshots) and am taking a small hiatus. But turns hiatus can be a bit boring. So how am I gonna change that?

By hosting a random art contest for fun!!

I thought this might be a fun little thing to drop. No idea how many participants they’ll actually be, but we’ll see 😁😁.

So, here’s how it’ll work. The theme will be my two fav bois, Frieza and Frost. Specifically, with the two of them wearing cute outfits that you guys come up with! There will be a time limit of one week (meaning March 26th, 2024 is the due date). And when that day comes, I’ll share everyone’s drawings in giant post - make it a little “fashion show” for everyone to see! And then the next day, I’ll set up votes so YOU guys can vote on the winner!

I’m gonna have votes set up for different categories too, such as “cutest outfits” or “most unique outfits” that people can also vote on. But the main winner at the end will get to request a drawing from me - on any character, fandom, or ship they want!

There are gonna be a few rules, but really it’s more like a guideline on the contest:

You don’t have to draw ship art of Frieza and Frost together - just a simple piece with these two wearing an outfit of your choice will suffice, or even two separate pics of each individual character will work (that said, ship art is welcome too).

They don’t have to wear matching outfits, have them wear whatever you come up with.

You are not limited just because both characters are male - you can dress them up in either male or female outfits, but they both only require ONE outfit each.

If you want to dress them up in outfits from a crossover show (for example, dress Frieza up as Alastor from Hazbin Hotel, etc) you can absolutely do that.

You can have Frieza and Frost be in any form you want - obviously most people recognize their final forms, but I’d be delighted to see them in their first forms, or Frieza in Golden Form.

Art can be digital or on paper, you’re free to choose.

You don’t have to follow me to participate - everyone is welcome!

Okay, now for the ACTUAL rules: please keep your outfits and drawings PG-13. I don’t know how many minors actually follow me, or look at my content, but I wanna make this available to everyone.

Leave some sort of signature on your art. I know most artists do anyway, but I don’t want anyone’s art to get stolen.

Yeah, my first instinct was to colour him neon pink, but he is Crimson after all, so I figured this was his main colour… meaning, he just coloured his entire character red when he was designing him lol And also gave him a big-ass armor and made him buff. And then when he had to come up with the name for him, he just looked at them and went “Muscle Crimson”. Or maybe he came up with the name first (wanted something that sounds cool + his favourite colour) and designed the character afterwards?

Anyways, I myself am really bad at designing stuff… and the fact that I don’t play these kinds of games doesn’t help my case at all lol So they’re kind of lame and basic looking. Maybe if I draw Idia’s and Lilia’s online characters again I’ll think about it more and come up with something better… Although I wish they’d have canon designs, those would be better than mine anyway.

Jack is more inclined to follow social norms and stuff, so he’d start considering Deuce as a potential partner sooner than with his original boy self, and considering how family-oriented Jack is, that would lead to a pretty traditional scenario I don’t really want to think about 😔 What I’ll say though is that he would recognise Deuce to be very good at running and he’ll be very excited to be around a girl who can run as fast as he does.

A bitch in me wants to say that Ace wouldn’t be into fem!Deuce because he isn’t into girls lol But let’s imagine that he is to leave every possibility open. He’d probably still act like they’re just buddies for a long time, maybe even joke about how he’d never catch feelings for Deuce because she doesn’t even feel like a girl to him (because Deuce gets mad when she hears that and it’s funny), but then it’ll become obvious that he is in fact into her… and then it becomes another scenario that don’t really want to think about.

Can we assume that there are so few Sam people that they can’t even win polls when they cheat? And if that Jared poll is correct most of the fandom doesn’t like him either. Only like 27% of that poll loved him completely. The rest have no so positive feeling about him. The math of these polls interests me as much as the outcomes.

I honestly don't think SPN polls mean anything. Like they are fun for discussion and a little friendly competition can be enjoyable, but that really is where their value ends. The sample sizes are usually wack, and even when we frame the sample as "spnblr/tumblr users opinions" specifically, we still don't have a randomized sample of respondents. Polls spread from spnblr community to spnblr community through reblogs in deeply non-randomized patterns, and to only the groups of people who are really interested in them, and that creates serious selection bias.

Our fandom is honestly pretty segmented. There's almost a wall between the samgirl/wincest sphere and the destiel/deangirl/casgirl sphere where almost completely separate metas and fanworks usually circulate because the aesthetic interests and vision of the show is typically so different between the two groups.

Even within each of those two larger spheres, there's even more division (to see a small piece of what I mean, check out my venn diagram about fandom feelings on jackles). Like I'm pretty sure there are more than a few groups of samgirls who don't like each other. I mean that isn't shocking considering there'a a group of about 30 hardcore Jared stans on this site who sit around in a knitting circle all day wishing death on actors wives and kids and complaining that Jared's dick isn't being perpetually sucked. I'm pretty sure most samgirls know to avoid them at the least (?). Even within the J1 community, there was a split over intercommunity racism a few years ago where people mass unfollowed each other. So polls don't spread organically (and in many cases, can't because of blocking). Polls generally start with a blogger with certain aesthetic interests and values, and are unlikely to leave their larger sphere unless the topic is of interest to the other large sphere. A week long poll will slowly spread to other little pockets of fans starting with people who think most similarly to the OP. People with generally the same beliefs are therefore exposed to the poll for a longer period of time and therefore have a longer amount of time to get online, see the poll, and vote. Which means wherever a poll originates, that community more broadly gets a "head start" in pushing their opinion most of the time and that can generate a lead that's difficult to reverse early on also because of the larger stock of reblogs sitting in that community slowly collecting votes.

Like if I started a poll right now of "who's the best SPN character", it would immediately take off with deanfans, pushing Dean into the lead, and then probably circulate to the casgirl community (except for the deancrit casgirl subsegment with whom I am mutually blocked lmao). Because samgirls overwhelmingly do not like me or anyone I associate with or at the very least have no interest in what interests us about the show, the poll would in most cases take a couple of days to reach them if it circulated enough to ever reach them at all. I could literally identify by name and on one hand the followers I have through whom posts I make can potentially spread to samgirls and bibros, and if they don't happen to be online at the time or just don't care, Dean (and likely Cas as well) could be pulling ahead for days before Samgirls caught wind of the poll. Put another way, the poll would circulate among the deangirl/casgirl/destiel sphere for a whole week, but only among the samgirl/wincest sphere for 3-4 days maybe. So even if the fanbases were of equal size (which I don't think they are) samgirls would still not be exposed to the poll as long as deangirls and casgirls were, creating a large selection bias. On the other hand, if a deancrit samgirl posted that same poll, the exact opposite would happen with Sam taking a commanding lead immediately. The larger size of the bubble we're sitting in and circulating the poll enough (out of indignation or whatever) might cause a reversal, but it would be more difficult.

TL;DR Samgirls can and have won various polls and I'm sure they win them legitimately on many occasions (though they have cheated in external polls I hosted in the past—it only takes a couple of people!). They certainly don't always need to cheat and it takes a certain type of person to be passionate enough to do that. Sometimes Sam is also just a reasonable choice for a poll and he does great! But also Tumblr polls have zero meaning. I just don't put any stock into them unless it's fun.

Ok, so as much as the Hunger Games scare and unnerve me as a concept, I really want to learn so many things about how they played out through the years...

Let's start with the first games ever. I wonder how long they took and what happened, who was the victor ofc, I think that in this exact case, all tributes had more or less equal chances as they didn't know what to expect, but most importantly, how did everyone else die? Did anyone actually kill another tribute, or the arena finished them? Because we already saw what's going on in the 10th games and tbh, yes, there was a group that was ready to kill and all but most of them were just scared and didn't want to kill/hurt. But they got to watch 9 games before that and already had an idea what was to be expected. And also, this arena didn't seem that easy to control as the ones in the 74th and 75th so what happened during the first games?

Then there's the First Quarter Quell. It's been a while since I read the books and I don't remember seeing in the movies but it goes around the fandom that the twist there was people from the districts voted for who goes in? How crazy is that? Tbh, if I have to number the wickedness of these quells, I'd say this is the worst, followed by the victors entering again in the 75th, and then maybe the most... Mild would be the Second where it was double tributes. Because yeah, double the trubutes is awful but... they're all endangered and 23 or 47 lost lives is... when it comes to having large number of victims, somewhat not that crazy. And only victors entering again is also so crazy and twisted, like, look at them, they're all mostly mentally or phisically damged but imagine being chosen not in some large poll with numerous other names in it but because people choose you?! Like, neighbours, people that know you actually looked at you and decided "Yes, they'll be the ones doomed this time." How did this one even go?? I've already discussed this with friends and we were trying to decide if some of the districts chose the ones most likely to win, or just the ones they disliked for one reason or another. But come on, it's crazy. Though, this might be eventually how the idea of Careers appeared. But I also wanna know the victor of these games because just imagine winning games in which people you know put you in? How do you get back and live... Not a normal life but some kind of life and you just know people you interract on a daily basis send you to your death.

And then, of course like most people in this fandom, I want to know more about the games of the victors we've seen. We have some of them discussed and shown in bigger details but still, maybe just a little more information and details about how exactly these games played out wouldn't hurt...

I just said earlier how the Second Quarter Quell was maybe the most okay-ish when it comes to the twist but this doesn't make it less tragic. And we first see Haymitch when he's older and he's... Well, a total wreck, dealing with alcoholism and all of that and you just wonder how this guy even won?! And then we later learn how he won and what led him to become the way he is now but still, it's pretty crazy that he won when there were not 23 but 47 other people. And yes, he "cheated the system" but I don't really think he was the first one. As I've seen people pointing out, so did Lucy Gray and so did Katniss and Peeta. And I believe others also found a way to just... Survive. And as I sae in an earlier post, who was his mentor? I think there wasn't one. And there were surely Careers in these games too. Wasn't the last girl he was left with a Career? So, this guy from District 12 managed to win a game where there were double tributes without a mentor even. And then he just keeps suffering and honestly, I absolutely understand him. Honestly, I think for all he went through, alcoholism is an understandable thing, I probably would have just commited a suicide or sth. And the more I think about it, the more I think the real reason he was punished and had his whole family killed wasn't because he "cheated" but because he was someone who was extremely unlikely to win and yet he did and this is what really made lots of people angry. He wasn't an "interesting" tribute.

And speaking of "interesting", here comes Finnick. Yet another victor who we know most of the details about but still. He's famous for winning sg only 14. Was he a Career? Was he just unfortunate? And his whole story with Annie. Did they know each other before her games? Did they fall before or after that? Was she a Career? I've seen lots of people commenting on it and how she might have been, even though she developed problems after that. Likee, it's one thing to prepare for the games and a whole another to actually be there. Yet this only makes me think that if this was the case, they probably became a thing after the games. I just can't imagine him knowing what it means to be a victor (him, of all people!), and actually supporting her decision to take part.

And on the topic of Careers, I really want to know how this became a thing. I have to admit, I somewhat see the logic of children starting to prepare and train for the worst but I can't fully wrap my mind around the idea of someone volunteering for the games knowing fully well that they have a very big chance of dying. No matter what, there's is only one victor always (with one excpetion but we know how bad this played out in the end) so to enter willingly games where you just know there are others who have trained for? And one of them is also from your district and you've most likely trained together?? What's going onn?

And how some of the tributes would form packs. I actually want to see how games like this one played out. Haymitch and the girl from 12 (I know her name but I won't spell it right) broke theirs because they didn't want to kill each other in the end but there surely must have been games where this was the case in the end. A group of people who had been hunting down the others together would have been the only survivors in the end and they must have had to kill each other eventually. How do you even kill someone who was your ally and you had each others' backs until this moment??

And I also wonder how many people had won similarly to how Foxface got close to winning. By just avoiding the others and survivng. And were they punished for it later too?

Also, when and how did the victors become public and famous figures? We saw Lucy Gray after her games back in 12, continuing her life almost as before (though we see this through Snow's eyes so I don't claim she didn't have a hard time, it's just that she was left unbothered, mostly). Then, the 11th Games is when the Victor's Village first became a thing. And the tours? Everything else? The way the victors would be used by the Capitol for the rest of their lives? When did this become a thing? I can't help but think this must be just another form of punishment that was implemented there. They survive yet they suffer for it in other ways.

I just really need answers and these are only some things on top of my head now, I might add to the list later...

I have a history and present of self harm so nothing like that unless certain cases call for aftercare. Ex: person 1 is a sh-er and their partner catches them to stop it or even if they don't catch them in time they are strict for them to not do it again and shows them love and care for the rest of the fic.

Amputation.. ngl someone dmed me earlier asking for this and I was willing to hear it out at first but grew into not wanting anything to do with it especially Cause I think it was going to be purely self indulgent. The ONLY cases I'll let slide by is something like an OC x Valdemar from the Arcana for example. It seems like something they'd be into doing and I really like that character so honestly any commission for Valdemar I'll most likely do. (Not just Valdemar but Vlastomil, Vulgora, Valerius, etc) It's interesting because I'll either be down to do it or I won't, it purely depends on what's being asked so always dm me with everything you think I should know.

Anything to do with feces

Weird 'sibling' or 'family' dynamics. Please don't request incest, my personal sa revolved around that and I'd literally be sick to see anyone ask for it. The only way i'd be okay with it is if they aren't actual family by any means, just people who grew up together. An example of what I would feel okay writing would be something like Toji (jujutsu kaisan) x OC/reader who he found who grew into having feelings for him years after they became an adult. Another example could be Severus Snape x reader who grew similarly. In these cases I'd put more emotions and such into the story to explain the inner workings of their heads when they are around each other. Most stories would probably have angst too because of the morals aspect. It's something else that has to be discussed and talked about nonetheless.

Throw up no matter what.

Anything to do with animals.. please don't. Only things that can slide by are werewolves, sirens, feline hybrids but these beings are conscious which is why I'd write for them just no beastiality. An example that would be okay would be: something like an OC x werewolf Elliot from Stardew Valley where he probably keeps it a big secret and gets worried about anyone finding out and then he can't stop himself from shape shifting on a night of a full moon that he wasn't prepared for and his partner has to be patient with both calming him down and his instincts to mate.

Trying to think of some more because there's definitely more things I wouldn't write for but maybe I'll stop here for now. So! Matpat has finally rejoined us!

Welcome back to the theorist crew, Matty. We've been busy in your absence.

Now the council will decide whether your theories are truly what we've been waiting for. ('The council' being, well, uh, just me, I guess.)

(At the time of writing this, Ranboo has not reacted to this video. If at any point he does, I will follow up on this post.)

The first section the video is Matt just recapping his past theory, about the two factions which he has now labelled as being Showfall and Generation Loss. These two factions have been fighting over who gets to say what in the media we're shown, with the Gen Loss crew overwriting Showfall's content with cutaways, red writing (origin of my Red Writing tag), and other such edits.

Note: I can understand Matpat's reasoning for calling that group Showfall. I wouldn't, I'd probably associate these guys with who I've been calling GIC's, but for the sake of clarity and consistency, I will be using Matpat's naming conventions. If I need to make a distinction between Matpat's names and Showfall the company or Generation Loss the show, the latter two will be highlighted in red and/or otherwise clarified.

Matpat states that he's done exactly what we've been tasked to do, and found The Founder. I will admit that I was very interested and dubious in this, given we have barely touched on that here. The most we have is that the Video taper showcased at the end could potentially be our guy, but that hasn't been set in stone as The Theory.

Matpat goes back to discussing the videos, specifically going back to T_2: The Inauguration, which he clarifies is about inaugurating us, the viewer, into the Generation Loss group.

OP of that post had interpreted it as a way for picking out the cast members for Showfall, whereas Matt has taken it as being a sort of recruitment for Generation Loss. I find this difference of opinion so entertaining, because in that case, both parties what you willing to kill another human being for the cause. Sounds about right! As for which one I think is true, well.... I kinda side more with Mat Pat on this one. The video, for one, is a Gen Zero video and Showfall (the company, not the GIC's) isn't part of this generation according to Ranboo (last I checked).

Still, it could apply to either group, and I really like that ambiguity.

The next thing Matpat discusses is The Social Experiments, giving a quick recap on what it was, that Hetch was supposedly helping him only to turn out to be Showfall, that we killed Ranboo live, (live). Only he thinks Ranboo didn't die, and that Ranboo is actually The Founder.

His reasoning and evidence for this is the following:

Ranboo, whilst trusting Hetch, didn't take Hetch's advice to do as the audience says, rather picking the wrong code so the alarm would be activated and the show could continue how Showfall planned it.

Ranboo purposely doesn't take the first exit sign post button push, rather he heads for Hetch door.

We were asked to kill the Founder, and who did we vote to kill in the end? RANBOO!

Ranboo purposely picked the wrong exit in the Closet, leading to Ethan's death.

Ranboo knows that Sneeg has been there for Six years, and accidentally slips this when they free him.

The Puzzler is scared of Ranboo and was scared that he killed Ranboo too early, which wasn't what was meant to happen, and he apologized for that. Also, the line "Well that's for you to know and me to find out".

Ranboo wants the audience to kill him, in a mix of " hey look at me I'm so christ-like!" and dying for your sins/getting us to do what we need to do to survive.

The Cutaways require Ranboo to be alive post-production in order for them to happen.

Ranboo is reorganising the footage for release as the founder's cut, making it sadder (MANIPULATION), and to change and add certain details to make it better (REWRITING THE TRUTH/CANON). also Ranboo may quietly delete the original VODs so they no longer can speak their truth (GASLIGHTING)

Now. Here's why I disagree with Matpat on this.

The reason Ranboo didn't take Hetch's advice was not because they wanted the show to go on and knew that "theorists" would hinder that by choosing the correct option. Rather, he didn't want to take advice from a faceless audience who have been the one's controlling his life for a long as he remembers. He isn't even aware that the audience is actively trying to save him the best they can, he just thinks they want him for entertainment. Hence, he makes the decision for himself with a 75% chance of failure and ends up setting off the alarm.

As for why Ranboo ignored the first exit sign, my own mask theory gives the reason for this: Ranboo was almost always being controlled or at the very least, having their perception altered so that the story would go as it was supposed to.

We've killed and/or seen the deaths of seven people over the course of this series (some even twice, or three times over!), and sure, Ranboo's death was a very big focal point, I don't think that meant they were the FOUNDER. if he was, I'm pretty sure that would of meant Gen Loss was over, done, we did the thing we were supposed to do and now can go on with our lives. But no, the show goes on. Ranboo was just the focal point of this particular story. (it's been mentioned by Hetch that this cast selection normally happens off-camera, but because of the novelty of this version, their gets to be live)

Ranboo picking the wrong door. Simple, he was being mind controlled then, which we know because of the lights and also the NPC voice going on then. I find it really interesting that Matt hasn't once mentioned the mind control aspects of the show, in any form it came up as. During those moments, yes they were continuing the story in a story way, but not because they were the one in control.

The Sneeg thing- I'm like 90% sure this was just Ranboo improv-ing, plus he said it in a questioning tone and followed it up with "I don't- I don't know..?" Idk, it sounds just a little to me that he doesn't know.

Now for the Puzzler. Dude's just incompetent at being a Saw guy, man. He did actually kill Ranboo in that moment, according to Ranboo (source: Going through my favourite bits!), so the "nearly killed his boss" is a bit of a iffy thing (even if the filter doesn't let him realise that he did actually kill Ranboo). he's just genuinely sorry about it as is. (again, he's just a goofy guy, who is heavily filtered like everyone else). Although I will admit that the "that's for you to know" line is definitely something. Personally, I'd like to think it was Showfall speaking through the Puzzler to the audience, without the puzzler realising the deeper meanings.

The reasoning for Ranboo dying. Matpat calls it as Ranboo making himself out to be Jesus like (and while, yeah CC Ranboo is basically doing that cause hell yeah), I think of it as Showfall showing off how in control they are, mimicking religious imagery (almost mockingly) and their apparent control over life and death. How God-like they are. So, we have similar ideas around this particular one, only we just differ on the one sending the message.

Matpat then compare's The Social Experiments to those of Stanley Milgram (who, coincidentally, A friend told me about the day this video was uploaded). And I agree! There are definitely a lot of similarities. The subjects are forced into a situation by an authority figure (the experimenter) of deciding the fate of another subject, to the point of inflicting pain that could cause death (only for the pain to be fake, and the whole situation fabricated).

Matpat and I agree, that Ranboo's death was faked. Well, sorta. But for veryyyy different reasons. Matt says it's because he's the Founder and needs to stay alive, while I say it's because Showfall like to reuse everything, so why waste a perfectly good body? (Clarification: Ranboo the person is dead. But their body is reused, either like Frank or as one of the Employees.)

With the cutaways? I think they were filmed before. Ranboo is completely under their control, so it's easy enough to make pre-prepared cutaways and then make their actors do certain things that make the cutaway make sense/relate to the show. especially with how meticulously planned this particular show is. Especially since this show is completely Live apart from the obviously cinematic stuff, but again, pre-recorded (either in-universe or because of IRL health and safety laws requiring that actors don't actually get smashed by anvils).

His whole founder's Cut idea is certainly something. However, the main reason for the founder's cut is to remove a lot of the livestream-y stuff, add in some of the things that got missed out the first time around because it just got skipped over in the live performance, and just tweaking a few things here and there so that we get the experience of Gen Loss we were always supposed to get. (yeah yeah it's rewriting the current Canon but not in THAT WAY). I actually have a couple of friends waiting on the founder's cut release purely because I suggested they do due to just how long and sometimes a little stuck in places the og is (as much as the first episode was great, they were in the kitchen for a LONG time, hell even the YouTube VOD skips out the Create a Creature bit). Also i would like to see Ranboo even TRY gaslighting us. Have you SEEN the amount of edits, scene packs, small detail discussions (my own Masterpost of small details for one.)

Final Notes

Now I don't know why Matpat didn't mention the whole mind control aspect, or why he wasn't apparently aware of certain details that Ranboo himself has confirmed, but honestly, even I'm not caught up on everything going on. I've got a private playlist on YouTube called "gen loss to watch" and wow I have not watched half of those. I also have the benefit of being focused on Gen loss, and not managing four channels each with a wide range of things to cover. That and the fact I'm constantly in the loop with all of you, and seeing what you all think.

AHFG anyways. No theory is a bad theory, and it was really nice to hear Matpat's thoughts on this, no matter how differing. Don't spread hate to him, and don't interpret this post as me hating on him. We're all just trying to solve this thing, and by god are we going to do it.

Although she didn't say whether she accepted his apology or not, Saraïyah did appreciate the fact that he owned up to his actions despite the reasons he had. He acknowledged his mistake and apologized to her, something that the guys she's used to wouldn't bother doing. They would probably flip her off and she'd cussed them out.

The thought of some shameless creep spying on her with inappropriate intentions made her skin crawl in disgust. If that was truly the case, she would've killed him and buried his body deep under the ground. Then happily move on with her life. Who was going to find out when they were all by themselves? The creatures? Please.

But why didn't she take that action? Why did she allow him the luxury of hearing what she assumed would be pathetic nonsense as his justification?

Interestingly, it was his eyes.

His pure golden eyes, a perfect shade of yellow, and the most enchanting details she had ever seen in her entire life held her small reflection. Radiant and distinct.

The villagers often say that the eyes are the windows to one's soul. Like body language, the eyes say more than words ever could. The eyes can tell a lot about someone's emotional state. They don't lie. They show the truth, no matter what face they put on. By looking into the eyes of an individual, one can see their hidden emotions, attitudes, and thoughts.

She sees him.

She was able to read his emotions through those eyes. Even if she didn't want to believe him, he was telling the truth.

That intense eye contact snapped something inside that she never knew existed, which left her speechless and confused.

She was leading the way and Neteyam was following closely behind her, he skipped to be right beside her. Being taller than her required him to look at her from a lower angle.

"So, what's your name, Princess?"

Her ears perked up at the nickname he had just called her. Why would he even think to casually address her as such? And why does her entire body keep getting triggered by these weird sensations? It was a simple word that strangely flutters her heart and makes her feel like millions of Shimmyflies are dancing around in her belly.

Nicknames are normal between her and her friends. She shouldn't have been in any way affected by it. But his was different; it sent shivers down her spine.

Odd and unfamiliar. These confusing feelings, which still linger, had begun earlier. When she had him pinned against a tree with a knife to his throat. One wrong move sealed his fate.

He's too composed for a man who nearly lost his life.

Neteyam even surprised himself and didn't know why he said it. It slipped out. Either way he didn't mind and will continue calling her that.

Brushing her wavy wet hair off her shoulder, she replied. "Saraïyah, or Saïyah for short."

"Saraïyah." He repeated her name slowly at a low volume, paused for about two seconds, and then smiled genuinely while continuously staring at her. "It's beautiful, definitely suits you."

There's that feeling again.

"Thanks, what's yours?" She avoided Neteyam's gaze in the hopes that he wouldn't be able to see her tainted cheeks.

He did notice, and decided not to speak on it. At least for now.

"Neteyam Sully."

She, finally, raised her head to face him and asked, "The sixth Toruk Makto's oldest son?"

"You heard about me? I didn't know I was that popular. That's awesome-"

"Hold your tail, your parents are the legends, not you buddy. I only heard about you once." She diminished his enthusiasm, while thinking back to a random night. Although the memory was hazy, she can still recall portions of it.

"Buzzkiller." He playfully nudged her.

Snorting with a small smirk, she did the same to him. "As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted,"

"You interrupted me."

"Be quiet, you." She hushed him, "As I was saying, I'd watch my back with Aonung if I were you mr 'Perfect' child. He despises you."

Saraïyah is certain that Aonung won't be hesitant to express his enduring hostility whenever he has the chance.

He noted the irony in her tone when she referred to him as 'Mr. Perfect.'

Neteyam raised an eyebrow, " Why though? I've only met him today."

Aonung having yet another unspoken hatred towards him was baffling. He was aware of the guy's resentment and annoyance when his father asked him to help him and his siblings adjust to the reef lifestyle.

"Well, his dad did compare him to you a few years ago. He was going on and on about how impressed he was with your achievements at a young age. I guess Aonung got hurt and jealous, so since then you've been dead to him."

"Really? Damn, no wonder he's acting like a jerk towards my siblings and I."

"That's how he is, a real jerk." A very annoying one she wishes she could beat up with a stick every single day.

When she spotted some Yovo bushes she moved towards them, signaling him to follow.

The bushes have large tufts of green leaves at the top and clusters of Yovo fruits underneath the leaves, and the purple fruit itself is small enough to fit several of them onto the palm of a Na'vi hand.

She started collecting the leaves and the fruits. "He just wants his father to recognize him. But, I suppose you do have to live up to yours too, don't you?"

"Yeah." Neteyam slowly nodded as he assisted her. "I kinda relate to him on that part."

"I feel for you guys, honestly. It must be a nightmare, constantly trying to prove your worth with all of those expectations and standards. That all sounds exhausting. I'd rather sleep."

He chuckled, "Right, it's fortunate and unfortunate. My parents don't exactly force them upon us...It's more like a self-obligation for me. I mainly want to set an example for my siblings and help them."

Neteyam cares greatly for his siblings, he supports them all so they can shine and succeed. To him, they're special and amazing in their own way.

"Don't mind me asking, why would your family come here when you have your own land? Did you get kicked out of your clan?"

"No, it was our choice. The guy my dad fought and my mom killed in the past is somehow back from the dead, and now he's after us for revenge. Dad decided that we should escape and hide among a different tribe. Our escape would also protect the rest of our tribe since they are the primary target for him."

He gave a brief explanation of the situation, including how it all began and how it should have ended. But fate says otherwise. Given that this is his family's business, he kept it to a minimum. She's still a stranger at the moment.

"You said that man is obsessed with tracking and capturing your father and that his cruelty has no bounds, where do you think the Metkayina clan will stand if he manages to reach our villages?" She pressed the matter.

Saraïyah was neither gullible nor clueless; she easily caught on to the dilemma. The Sully's understandably ran away on their own and with their tribe's favor, but by coming here, they also brought danger to another tribe, who are not in war or direct conflict with those Sky people personally. The people would undoubtedly fall victim to that man's cruelty, meaning that even if they are innocent, they may lose their lives.

Tonowari's sympathy for the family wasn't unexpected; what's surprising is Ronal herself complied. Saraïyah wasn't opposed to their decision, to say the least, she probably would've accepted them as well. She's naturally concerned about their safety, especially the children.

"We'll stay and fight." Neteyam stated with assurance and confidence.

However, despite their arms' strength and hearts' bravery, they will not be able to repel the determined assault without suffering fatalities. That was something he was conscious of.

"Is that so. There's not much of a choice, is there." She simply said this and looked further ahead of them.

Neteyam was about to respond when Saraïyah suddenly gasped, her jaw dropping.

"Oh my Eywa."

"What? What is it, what's wrong?" He scans the area, trying to figure out what startled her.

"Shh, come on." She dragged him behind the bushes.

"See that over there?" He looks at where she was pointing to, nodding.

"A Slinth? If it attacks, we can just kill it."

He reached for his knife but she intervened, shaking her head.

"Helloo? We're not gonna do such a thing. It's sleeping, we mustn't disturb it. I want you to be as stealthy as you can so we don't end up as the next course meals."

Neteyam shrugged, his idea is more reasonable. "Yes, ma'am."

Eywa and luck are on vacation, while unlucky was having a satisfying field day with two teenagers who thought their stealth skills were useful against the sharp predator and are currently regretting their live decisions.

The cunning creature had long been awake; it sensed the free meals from miles away and pretended to still be asleep. Until it needs to feed, it spends the majority of the day sleeping in the forest. When this occurs, it is among the fastest land predators on Pandora and is known for injecting its prey with a powerful poison before devouring them alive.

Once they moved close enough, the Slinth jumped to attack with an opened mouth and claws. Thanks to Neteyam's rapid reflex as he quickly grabbed a branch and swung, the Slinth was launched into the air and struck a tree. Right away, he started dragging Saraïyah after him as they ran in a different direction.

The Slinth screamed in agony and became enraged. Its speed was less effective because of the discomfort, but it was unaffected by this.

Unlike the previous occasion, Saraïyah is not being saved by her aunt. Back then, she was sad that the creature died despite the traumatic event she experienced. Now, deep down, she wished she had listened to Neteyam's proposition.

Gut-wrenching, heart pumping-after several thrusts forward, her legs started hurting, but she couldn't slow down. She was running so fast that she thought her legs were going to explode. Adrenaline is coursing through her veins as she forces her legs to push harder, anticipating the relief of lying in her warm bed if they escape this mess.

"I think this is the waterfall!" Neteyam said through sharp breaths. He's still holding her hand securely in his.

Saraïyah heaved out a long relieved sigh.

The waterfall was another option for them to return because it is partially connected to the ocean. Compared to the alternative route they were travelling, it does take longer.

Finally, they made it to the stony peak of the waterfall, panting from fatigue. They gaze back toward the Slinth as it draws closer, then down at the streaming water.

"You ready for it, Princess?"

They exchanged smirks while looking at one another.

"Heck yeah!"

With both safety precautions and fun in mind, they went for it and plunged off the edge. Saraïyah maintained a perfect form and pointed toes, while Neteyam had a much more laid-back attitude to the whole thing, having to perform multiple flips and twists from the spectacular heights.

All they could hear during the loud and exciting trip was the constant boom of water pounding into the stream and their screams. Plus, the bubbly rush of being one with the falls. The harsh smash landing that a several-foot fall may have caused was softened by the swirling water at the base of the waterfall.

"That was insane!"

"And dangerous!"

Plunging into a cool, fresh, tropical waterfall pool is one of the most exhilarating experiences imaginable for the two. Saraïyah never imagined herself engaging in such activities with a boy she had just met and had been threatening not long ago, on a random day like this.

This isn't a place that she often comes to, she was spending time with her Ilu and the scenery simply captured her attention. She planned on swimming for a short while and then possibly collecting weaving materials on the way home.

Never expected to be chased by a deadly beast.

Never expected to even cross paths with this Omaticaya Na'vi. And him saving her.

Obviously, she wouldn't stand by and let that Slinth kill her and carry on with its life or the next prey, just because she has it in her to oppose violence against creatures. She could have undoubtedly defended herself in some way if she had been alone, and if push came to shove, she would've set her merciful heart aside.

But in any case, Saraïyah was rather impressed by his rapid control of the situation. To a certain extent.

"You okay there, Princess?" Her wavy, dispersed hair was sticking to her face and blocking her eyesight, which made him chuckle amusingly.

"Not funny Skxawng," She scolds him, smiling as she fixes her hair.

That smile.

Her smile is so contagious to him.

"I'm fine, kinda bummed out about my materials, they're all soaked and ruined." She pursed her lips into a slight pout.

"Look on the bright side, at least we survived." He glanced up, finding out that the creature was gone. "Do you wanna try another spot? I'm sure that beast is still lurking near."

"It's whatever, I'm too tired. I think I'll have time to hunt tomorrow."

He nodded.

Saraïyah made a tongue-clicking noise, calling out to her Ilu.

The Ilu are social by nature, smart, and easy to domesticate. Like direhorses serve the Na'vi clans of the forests, jungles, and plains, it serves the reef clans, particularly the Metkayina. They can be found in groups close to the settlements of oceanic Na'vi clans and are as common in the ocean as Ikrans are in the sky.

"I still can't believe we just did that. My veins are shaking."

Neteyam smirked. "We should go for another round."

Saraïyah spotted her Ilu swimming at full speed in their direction, her eyes lit up. Chichi emerged from beneath the waves to the surface in a dramatic entrance. Circling Saraïyah was what she first did.

"Hey Stargirl!" Her smile grew.

The creature was only concerned about whether Saraïyah suffered from any injuries.

"We're alright, don't worry." Saraïyah reassured her and petted her skin to alleviate her anxiety.

Chichi's a creature of rare beauty, adored by her Saraïyah.

Unlike an ikran, Ilu do not develop individual bonds with riders, so a skilled rider can mount any ilu that has been familiarized with the kuru bond. Chichi chose Saraïyah solely as her bond; hence, that fact didn't apply to them.

Saraïyah turned to Neteyam, "This is Chichi, she's my big spoiled baby."

"Hi Chichi," He greeted her.

Chichi slapped her tail against the water in response, splashing him in the face.

He wiped his face and said, "I guess I didn't pass her vibe check."

"Quite the opposite, actually, she thinks you're handsome. She'd bite you if you didn't." Like she always does to Aonung and Rotxo. And Saraïyah couldn't agree more with that statement.

"Oh yeah? Are you speaking for her or through her?" Neteyam swam a little bit closer, taking pleasure in the reddening of her cheeks as she realized what he meant.

"It's her opinion!" Saraïyah gasped, and mentality cursed herself for how hyper her voice sounded.

"Sure, thanks Chichi." He spoke to Chichi while maintaining eye contact with the flustered girl next to her.

"You're such a tease!"

He shrugged, smirking.

"Argh! Let's take his ass back to the village, Stargirl. I'm sure your parents are worrying sick while their eldest son is over here acting like a playboy."

After they bonded, Saraïyah climbed onto the creature's back.

"That was so flexible."

"Boy I'll leave you behind if you don't stop talking and get on." She huffed, crossing her arms across her chest, earning Neteyam's attention there for a fleeting second.

He hummed, doing as she says.

Saraïyah advised him to hang on to her since Chichi swims however she pleases in order to prevent him from sliding off. He hesitated to touch her waist, which she recognized, but she assured him that she didn't mind.

I am curious what percentage of the population fits Jacopo-Belbo's definition of a functional adult (or, at least, the part of their definition they communicate in that post).

Jacopo-Belbo's declared standard for functional adulthood, in case you don't want to click the link (I'm not reblogging their post or tagging them on this because I judge it likely they'd be annoyed by that):

Re: ongoing first aid kit discourse, if you don’t have the following you’re not a functional adult: in-person Stop The Bleed training (USA, I don’t know about equivalent training in other countries, Google is free, stop asking me), NAR combat application tourniquets, Celox z-fold gauze, TacMed OLAES pressure dressing, NAR chest seals, and an annoying little bag to carry it all around in.

My offhand guess is that most people are not "functional adults" by this standard, so "if you don’t have the following you’re not a functional adult" here is roughly equivalent to "if you're a good person you wouldn't eat meat"; you can't really prove it wrong because of the inherent subjectivity of moral statements, but you can correctly point out that it's detached from the material conditions and normal standards of the society it was made in (and the person who made it probably knows that, and the statement reflects their belief in the superiority of their own standards over the normative ones of their society) and that lots of people who aren't "functional adults" by Jacopo-Belbo's definition are functional in the sense that they're getting by.

I don't actually have much data to back up that guess though, just some observations and inferences from my own experiences. So I decided to take advantage of Tumblr's new poll function to make a little calibration test of my intuitions. Also, that post does seem to have a lot of notes, and I'm curious how much of that is full agreement vs. reblogging to spread around the links and partial agreement but not fully endorsing it, and I think this poll might give me some sense of the probable rough breakdown of that.

I know Tumblr polls can be pretty unrepresentative because of social network effects, but I think this matter is probably going to be pretty orthogonal to the ways people who read my blog are likely to be unrepresentative of the general population.

Of course, one possible biasing factor is the post this is responding to stigmatizes not having this sort of preparation, and my poll question reproduces their framing for brevity. If it helps, a quick Google search says votes in Tumblr polls are anonymous, so you need not worry about being embarrassed, and you are completely free to reject Jacopo-Belbo's moral judgment about what answering "no" would say about you as a person (your thoughts are your own, after all). I'm not particularly interested in having a discussion about the reasonableness of their standards (which is why I haven't given my "take" on that question here), but I will note that at least in the richer and more stable countries nowadays most people will never have to treat a serious wound without assistance from medical professionals and this sort of wound-care training and supplies is one of those things where you'll probably never use it, but it's better to have it and not need it than to encounter a situation where you need it and don't have it. I'll also note that I suspect that post has an element of staking out a maximal position in response to maximal positions in the opposite direction (original discussion is here, here, and here if anyone wants to review it, I confess I have not done so because... well, look at the note count on the first one) and I'm not sure whether it's fully unironically endorsed by its own maker (the last criteria seems a little tongue-in-cheek).

Oh that’s my mutual! They were using hyperbolic language in frustration with another post on which there was discourseabout whether it’s reasonable to expect a household to have a first aid kit. Why are we to be worried about Hunter Biden and whether he used drugs? We should be worrying about a man who kept secret Government documents related to our nuclear capability. We should be worrying about a man who wants to be president and whose friend is a Communist leader and a dictator.

I probably should request all anonymous questions to kindly reference the article/post inspiring such questions. I'm often left wondering what evoked these queries. First, let me just say, vote for whoever you want. I don't think anyone is going to change their opinion regarding the upcoming election based on anything they read on Tumblr. I mean, let's be honest here. Second, the entire Justice Department, most every major media outlet, the 50 some retired CIA folks who wrote an open letter all said Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation BEFORE the last election. Some have recognized the error, barely. Others have never owned up to it. It defies logic that all these people/organizations made a mistake. It was a deliberate lie. We are seeing a propaganda machine here in this country that rivals anything put together in modern times. It shouldn't matter which party you prefer, this should scare you. Third, do you remember Geraldine Ferraro? She ran for vice president several elections ago. Her husband was John Zaccaro who pled guilty to real estate fraud (see LA Times article: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1985-01-07-mn-11727-story.html). Her son, in college at the time, was known as "The Pharmacist" because of the amount of drugs he was dealing. What's the point? It is highly unlikely that Ferraro didn't know what her family was doing. Just like the current situation. That's why we're worried about Hunter Biden. In the old days it would be called influence peddling. However, it seems to be an accepted perk of elected office now and it makes me quite disappointed. It's not just the drugs, it's the money received for being on a board for a company he knows nothing about, it's about the children he has raped (note I said "raped". The media tries to soft pedal it saying things like "having sex with an underage woman". That's BS. An "underage woman" is a child. Having sex with a child is rape. It is beyond reprehensible. Reports are starting to surface that the FBI planted some documents in the material they recovered in the Trump raid. Biden won't be prosecuted for doing the same thing because the investigators in his case said he's too senile to stand trial. And I was not aware of nuclear secrets being among the documents retrieved. Thank goodness our FBI has them now. (that's supposed to be sarcastic.) I am quite frankly much more concerned about our country letting Iran develop nuclear capabilities, however. I can't imagine why our congress and president thought that was a good idea. I rarely get into politics on my blog. I come here to escape all that. But sometimes folks I follow come up with some of the most unusual conclusions. In rare instances I will comment. I can only assume this question derives from one of those comments. And lest you think that I believe one party is evil and the other wonderful, I would suggest to you that they are merely two sides of the same coin. We need to clean house, and not just at the Federal level. As an example, I would offer to you that if Epstein's list of clients were published it would contain significant numbers of members of both parties, as well as many of the Hollywood elites, and other entertainers. sure! i just wanna say that a lot of things are not set in stone for now and there is a possibility that i will change some of them (for example, i wanted to post the beta designs, but now i'm looking at them and.. yeah, i don't think they show the characters' personalities that well hsdksks i'm going to change them).

but for now, here's what the next linagram is going to have for sure:

it will have ten prisoners (five male and five female), just like this one and the canon one.

most pairs' themes have already been decided, i'm just trying to come up with better titles/descriptions for them. i can definitely say that one of the pairs will have a "praise" theme. at first i was going to give one of the pairs something like a "smothering" (?) theme, basically, something similar to mahiru's crime: they ended up loving someone a little too much for that person to handle. but now that i'm looking at their crimes and their relationships with those people, i think "worship" sounds like a better theme for them?.. IT'S GOING TO BE DIFFERENT FROM AKIO AND ARATA'S CASE I PROMISE.

i've mentioned this before, but i feel like these prisoners' crimes are more.. like, they don't come from anger and some of them aren't exactly violent, a lot of those crimes are actually accidental/indirect in some way (however, it doesn't excuse those prisoners' behavior, because in a lot of those cases, it's like.. basically, even if it was an accident, it would've happened anyway sooner or later), and those accidental murders feel so different to me, for example, one of them actually makes me feel sorry for the murderer, meanwhile the other one is like.. yeah, that prisoner made some really bad decisions, haha.

i think the best way to describe these prisoners' crimes right now is "they thought they were doing a good thing" or "they thought they were doing the right thing". whether it's them doing something really horrible only for their own sake or whether it's them trying to "save" someone in a very cruel and twisted way, most of those prisoners genuinely think they were right and that their crimes were "the only way out". most current linagram prisoners think the same way, but like.. a lot of them are proud of what they did. eiko thinks her victim 100% deserved to die, riku also thought that his victim should die, naomi can say stuff like "i should be punished" but she still hates her victim and she's one of those prisoners who would kill again if given the opportunity. these guys, however.. they're kind of delusional when it comes to their murders, to be honest. like they'd just stare at the guard and go "huh? i did something bad? what are you talking about? :D"

this is just a fun detail (to me, at least) but i think it's interesting how in current linagram, most male prisoners are minors and almost all female prisoners are adults (aimi is the only teenager), meanwhile in the second one all male prisoners are adults (though one of them has.. kind of a vague age) and the youngest one is 18 years old. there are still only two female prisoners who are minors (one of them is 16 years old and the other one is 15), but still, i just find it fun to compare them.

i have a feeling that the first prisoner will follow in akio's footsteps and also get voted guilty in season 1 dhjdkskldl. that prisoner and akio have some similarities too, though that prisoner feels a lot more guilty to me.

TWO OF THE FEMALE PRISONERS ARE GOING TO BE SO CHAOTIC.

i actually have some mvs' concepts ready, and, like.. i have a feeling that if those were actual videos and people watched one of them with no context at all, that prisoner would get the worst guilty ratio ever 😭 it's. kinda weird to say the least, i'll probably change it or maybe i should keep it to show that character's "less likeable" side
