I like to imagine Zoe didn't know Eveline aged fast at first. Like Mia knew, and Lucas figured it out pretty quick, but Zoe just didn't see Eveline often outside of hallucinations and nobody told her.

One day her family is possessed by a ten year old.

And in like 3 months that ten year old looks old enough to drive a car.

And like... I'm fully convinced if Ethan didn't show up Evie would have keeled over from old age and everything would have been mostly fine.

Or the mold would have lost control and everyone would have died. Since Eveline seems to be the only one keeping the mold in check. Unless it's like a parasite and keeps the Bakers and Mia alive as hosts. Which would probably be more terrifying than just being possessed by a kid cuz now you have like Last of Us Cordyceps type shit.
