taylor russell. cis woman. she/her. ⸻ i saw BIRDIE LAMBERT around THE WOODS, you know? the 25 years old that was driving from BEAUFORT, SOUTH CAROLINA when they saw the tree on the road. BIRD has been here for SIX MONTHS and i think they were A MENDER before they got stuck in the town. with the way things are now, they are struggling to maintain a sense of normalcy and  seek a way out without losing themselves or dying. lets hope you at least survive the night on their own.
TELL ME / WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
full name    abilene lambert birdie faye lambert nickname(s)    bird, faye (birdie is reserved mostly for loved ones) age   twenty5 gender identity    cis woman orientation    unlabelled place of birth    beaufort, south carolina date of birth   august 16th faceclaim    taylor russell former occupation small-time mender & hitchhiker positive traits   ardent, perceptive, resilient negative traits   morbid, impetuous, delicate moral alignment   chaotic good parallels amma crellin (sharp objects), maren yearly (bones & all), india (stoker), abigail hobbs (hannibal) current residency    the colony house current occupation laundress for the colony house BIOGRAPHY tw for the following content: childhood trauma, illness & abandonment, mental illness and murder.
you do not enter this world alone, but you do happen upon it utterly starved & half dead. your sister comes first, and you follow shortly behind ⸻ with all her same parts, but worse. you emerge a novel shade of blue, witholding infant wiles because even then you knew how to wield attention to your liking if there were going to be two of you. you’ve been a gaping maw since then,  devouring anything within reach simply because you could.  you gulp life as if it were something you were starved of.  in all truth,  you’ve always gotten what you’ve wanted,  it was only a matter of having more.
two little girls with bad heart, both still rotting from the outside in. mama says she thought the water would be good for you so your family upped and moved to the closest thing to it when they could afford it. you're still hardly a wink near the southern marshes but mama still paints the house blue to ward off those bad spirits. your dad leaves for the first time real soon after that, part of you still thinks the blue is what warded him off ⸻ that maybe it was best that mama's own superstition hadn't allowed him past the front porch.
ain't this good, bird? she'd say, fingers swept up in your never-done hair because half your childhood was spent mustering the strength to climb out of bed. just us girls. you didn't much like it, but it would stay like that for a long while. a mother-wound doing her very best to raise two little girls that had gone rotten in their own ways. you had always been a spindly little rose,  luscious from first glance but when people were close enough to touch you they could feel that dry,  hollowness you exude even now.  the withering bud your ma had managed to overwater in the dry season.  even with a pink teddy perpetually tucked beneath an arm you were still all teeth.
the liar and the thief, if competition were made between you and your sister, you were by far the finer lambert girl. even in your ailing condition your mother had mulled through you with a fine tooth comb,  ensuring that you and you alone would be the one she would pour all her efforts into. you would be doted:  the one better loved from the top shelf of ma’s china cabinet  ⸻  she thought life was too abbrasive for you so you were kept tucked away.  except this love was more of a gentle taxidermy, in time you would know what it meant to keep the dead things alive.
when you are old enough you will learn that the best place to harbor things ⸻ the best place to bury a body, is within yourself. you would tell mama that it was an incident what happened to your sister, that you didn't mean to dig in the knife ⸻ to twist. but even as you had promised in the womb, she would be your wound as you would be hers. surely there were the startling differences between you as children, but you were the maw remember? your sister had taken everything from you, so when you had sat on it for just long enough, you decided that you would carve out those pieces of yourself in her & make them yours again.
mama couldn't stand the sight of you and for the first time in a long while, you think ⸻ let alone miss ⸻ your father. you leave in the night like he did, and you've been nothing but a whisper on the wind since. you were just a girl then but you still take that peach fuzz softness and cast it over the vile bits you.  too many teeth where they shouldn’t be,  and too sharp to be just that.  in a childhood turned crime scene,  you were the rabid thing that had been tied up in the powder blue bow & now you're something much worse than you could have imagined. your sister may be dead, but she lives on in you.

Barry: tricky legacies (4x05)
This show makes me wish I was smarter and better at articulation so I could explain what I think is genius about it.
Cons:
I almost wish the episode hadn't included the intrusion from the past at the end, and had instead ended with Barry and Sally and their son just... living their strange lives together. The bit at the end with Cousineau returning from hiding and ready to tell Barry's story, and Barry saying he'd have to kill him, felt like more of a plot gimmick than anything, and I think it would have been cool from a pacing perspective if like... that happened at the start of the next episode, leaving this one in this strange unfamiliar space with nothing to latch onto from the past. It's a small thing, I just thought the very ending of the episode was the weakest part.
Pros:
Something about the way this whole episode was shot and paced and scripted just made everything feel so alienating. There weren't very many close-ups on faces, a lot of wide shots to show the loneliness but also the oppressiveness of their lives. Also a lot of playing around with what we can and cannot hear; murmured conversations that John can hear his parents having through the wall, that kind of thing. I loved the sense of creeping dread the whole thing provided. It was unsettling in all the best ways!
The psychology of Barry as a character is fascinating to me because what you might assume someone would do in this situation was cut the past out of his life entirely. And yet instead of doing that, he's telling John about his time as a marine, in order to impress his kid. He's pretending to be a gentle sort of guy who never gets angry, and he's painting stories of heroism instead of violence to demonstrate the nobility of his past.
And Sally, now going by Emily, is totally detached from the world around her, not even attempting to cross the divide and connect with her husband and son. Her dead-eyed behavior with the creep in the diner, all the way through choking him and then without seeming remorse getting an innocent person fired by accusing him of stealing from the till, the way she talks to Barry on the phone while drinking straight out of a liquor bottle leaning up against the side of the car... her existence is so bleak, and we get so little insight into how she's feeling about things, other than just... bad. There's the parallel that as Barry is recounting glory days to their son, Sally is also caught in the past, watching clips of her former assistant interviewing about her big TV show that's just coming to an end, a show that was meant to be Sally's.
The themes of "clean living" and the religious overtones are interesting, because you get the sense that Barry decided one day what kind of family they were going to be, and then decided to method act his way into making that the reality. The stilted conversations about Lincoln's origins and eventual legacy were a great way to drive this home. I love how Barry quickly pivots from praising Lincoln to learning the less ideal parts of his history, and then goes down a rabbit hole of finding out all the bad stuff that historically "good" people have done. Gandhi, St. Augustine, etc. Like, that's relatable as fuck, Barry. Nothing's sacred anymore.
We end with Cousineau reappearing, wanting to help make a movie about his experience with Barry. Sally calls to Barry, using his real name for the first time all episode, and as John, off screen, asks "who's Barry"? Barry rushes out to see the news article on the computer screen. I did like that this was the moment we saw Sally coming the most alive all episode, when the past finally seemed to be catching up to her. And Barry's commitment to living a better, cleaner life goes out the window when it looks like the past might be catching up with him.
All in all, excellent stuff. The flash-forward at the end of the last episode was an excellent teaser to what turned out to be a genuine eight-year time jump, and now we've just got to wonder what some of our other characters have been through in that intervening time. Hank? Fuches? It's going to be interesting to find out.

Ehehe this is excellent. No worries on using readmore or not, I...well tumblr is certainly a Webbed Site, but I'm on desktop and don't have personally have a problem? I think it's mobile where it can be troublesome for some folks (which is I think why the "long post" tag exists? I don't know the reasoning, only that it is a thing). I'll use 'em just in case/also to minimize bare spoilers, but you do what works for you!
(Oh wow tumblr started lagging near the end of this post pffahahaha BUT I DIDN'T HIT THE CHARACTER LIMIT SO IT'S PERMITTED)
Ah, I'm glad to have gotten you more info you hadn't yet seen! And yeah, Jacob is just...so sad, but also after reading his backstory so much became clear. He is just a giant cat, and if you know how to read cats, it is so much easier to figure him out. (Is he also notorious for having a quiet walk/being the best with the cloaking tech? Not because the cat parallel, it's just a thing that can happen with that sort of childhood trauma. Maybe also seems to have "good hearing," but it's not that his ears are better, it's just the learned hyper-vigilance figuring out how to hear subtle differences between sounds.)
I feel like I've gotten a grave lock or two that hinted about how the magic is used/accessed/etc...brb gonna go launch the game to look through the ones I have so far, haha. (Man I wish I could set it to just show the transcripts of all of them at once, so I can just take a couple screenshots for easy reference instead of...50+...I don't wanna...) Oh, looking through them, there's an early one where she says "there was more of us," and then lists family members. Was that what you meant when you indicated there are others with magic out there, or is there something else later that hints at more "gateways"? In the context of that quote, the "us" was "family besides her and Auntie," who ended up dying to a blood-borne disease. But she and her Auntie survived, and it was seen as miraculous, and that's how they figured out she had magic blood. (So far I've been getting the vibe that she was the only "gateway," and with the other religious stuff here and there in the game, it's been giving a sense of "science found the Second Coming and then selfishly tore her apart." I'd find it way more interesting if she is one of many potential "gateways" instead.)
There's another grave lock that indicates that the folks who came to her to get her magic blood had to keep coming back, because "it didn't last." It might be different in Redfall, since she's uh...I dunno exactly how they took her magic yet yet, but whatever they did was more thorough than her prior tiny transfusions. Later...a couple seem to sum up that she used to refer to her magic as a "bond" (because even with her little bit of bleeding, it would make it possible for her to temporarily hear the thoughts of the folks she healed, as whispers), and the vampires instead call it the "trance." (This is a half-guess, because she just keeps saying "it" real vague-like. "It's in the blood. It moves through every heart, every vein. They breathe it. They think it.") Aha, here's the one where she indicates where the magic sits (and thus why staking is key): "It rests in the heart. That's where they can hurt. The last place they have left. It beats slow." And immediately after one about the Nests: "They make their own worlds, in their head. They take all the pieces they want, and push out all the pieces they don't." Hgslkdjf oh I just realized why in one of these she mentioned being "close to shore" to Chuck, I've got a reeeal solid feeling that I know exactly who, what, and where he is right now, I'm pretty certain he showed up in a a single-frame flash in a trailer and was SUPER GNARLY LOOKING
...None of that answered whether the heroes would also have direct/ambient access to the Trance/bond, hm. I guess maybe not directly via blood, but they're empowered by a combination of using Remnants and also collecting "psychic residue." Which specifically refers to the little glowing blue balls that are left after killing a vampire, and are apparently also something that can be harvested and put into bottles to give to cultists (which they can then drop). It's what you have to collect in order to empower (and thus use) each of the heroes' ultimate abilities (summon Jason, magic sniper rifle, pulsing UV invention, and area healing). You can argue it's purely game mechanics, but they did seem to try to have it at least somewhat thematic/sensible, given all the other psychic shenanigans going on. (How/why it works for Jacob and Layla is more direct, but I could see it being able to let Remi "project" her compassion in an area, and work as a magic battery/boost to Dev's tech.) That does leave the question of Dev's stuff working on Redfall...the Javelin description does specify his "monster-hunting gadgets never worked as reliably as he'd hoped" until Redfall. So...maybe it's that there was ambient magic energy in some (but not all) of the places he's been, which is why they only worked sometimes. And it's stronger in Redfall (because Shenanigans), and is a critical component to his supernaturally-based tech/theories.
Oh yeah the nuke one is...yeah, definitely a much larger scale "fuck this town (and its shitty food)" than most of the comments. They largely just uh...don't care for the place, or the people in it, AT ALL. (And yep, I had a similar reaction, there's military folks on Solomon Island in SWL and there's hints about a plan they call E.X.O.D.U.S. which is just "firebomb/nuke the island if we can't fix it" which would make the problem SO MUCH WORSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA. So when I heard that line I said aloud "NO DON'T EXODUS THIS PLACE EITHER")
Right yes, I also double-checked the tutorials for the different vamp/minion types! I was mentally slotting Watchers in as vamps 'cause they have fangs where Bloodbags don't. But the tutorial info does call them "useful creatures" instead of "special/powerful vampires," so you're correct! Two minion types, three special vamps. (Plus the Rook, for special occasions.)
Absolutely yes hello you should check out Secret World Legends, it is free to play and my favorite game. The setting is modern, and the byline is "everything is true"—myths, legends, even some things in modern/pop culture actually exist, kept hidden from the world at large. Maybe a little different than the stories say, both because things can change in the retelling, and due to deliberately misleading misinfo to keep the secrets (and people) safe. (Not literally everything is in the game, of course, but there is a LOT and you visit multiple locations across the world!) It's also set up so that it's like...the setting is like a huge bowl, perfectly suited to pour nearly any other setting into and have it fit. Some pour themselves in, like Redfall. Even things that aren't modern, because (spoilers? I forget exactly when you learn about this part) the universe has reset a few times, and previous Ages were like different setting types, because a little bit gets "lost" when the reset happens. (Like the previous one, the Third Age, being kinda steampunk-aesthetic magi-tech, and the Age before that having much more prevalent magic.)
The character you play swallows a magic biomechanical bee in their sleep, has a fucked-up ominous dream, and wakes up with magic powers. :D (And hears an hive-like otherworldly entity in their head, with the text presented to the player via floating in-game honeycomb-icons called Legends though they used to be called Lore before the game relaunched, it used to be called The Secret World. Which is how you get extra in-game lore (like codexes in other games). And I ADORE the writing style, it's funky in fantastic ways. Several lines have permanently carved themselves into my brain, including the frequent "our wisdom flows so sweet, taste and see.") And the world is uh...things are kinda going to shit, so there are a lot more magic bees going around than usual (because they are the world's defense mechanism, like an immune response). Which is an in-universe explanation for it to be an MMO with a bunch of other Bees running around, rather than you being a singular Chosen One (which gets kinda awkward when there's...a whole bunch of those).
(Also, to swing back around to there maybe being multiple "gateways"—SWL has similar folks who are sorta like fonts of magic(/Anima, as it's called in that game), so my reaction is just a casual "oh yeah I've met two or three of them, I get what's going on, the magic here is just blue instead of yellow like honey. Except Charles' projections, he looks right and proper." XD Also also, to swing back around to some of the Remnants being something other than vials, it feels a lot like the gear in SWL (called "trinkets"). Most of them are generally mundane objects, like necklaces and belts and dice, but it's implied they've been deliberately/passively imbued with magic. Along the lines of objects gaining "memories," or becoming alive after long enough/being present for significant events. It's such a neat little feature, to make mechanics make sense! And gets referenced in a later cutscene! One of the trinket types is coins, and an NPC directs someone over the phone to "put all your clinky change in your right pants pocket." If you overlay the trinket slots on a person, that's where the coin trinkets would go! IT'S SO NEAT)
Ah, unfortunate that the 100-grave-lock video doesn't play them all, though I can understand why. That one's probably intended as a guide, so it'd be most efficient to just show the locations, since there are SO MANY. And for folks who just want the lore, it'd be better to have a separate video with just the audio of them...it just sucks that there doesn't seem to be one yet. :< I'm not used to playing games right at launch, it feels so weird not to be able to find thorough guides...
And yeah Addison's was...certainly enraging. (Another quick tangent, his kid was voiced by Fryda Wolff, who is a voice magician being able to sound like a literal child?? She's been in a ton of things including as a Bellwether soldier, she does soldiers fairly often I think, but I ran into her in the SWL side-game The Park and she is just. SO GOOD, magic at sounding whatever age, and fantastic at expressing emotions and just. I love her, and kinda almost wish she was the grave lock voice too, just so I could hear her more. >.>)
Oh dang you just reminded me that before she did the eclipse, the Black Sun got burned by sunlight, and I haven't found any reasoning for why yet. Oh what a fascinating (current) mystery. Also um. Further worrying for Jacob, yeah. I suppose he was fine...before she did that...since he had the eye in the beginning of the game? Maybe his hood was preventing direct sunlight exposure? (But then also, I don't think his eye gets frozen in UV lights, so is that. Is that just for player convenience? Or is it too...mixed with his human blood to be fully "vampiric"? Or does it get actually get funky or AAAA GOSH I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. I wish I had an in-game button to boop Dev to get him rambling his own questions and theories, there is SO MUCH I WANNA KNOW)
So for Nests being connected to the Trance, one of the comments Dev can make on entering them is that it's where the vampires go after feeding. And paired with the vampire comment that I think goes "I can feel the Trance is fading...only one cure for that" (implying they need to feed again)...it suggests that not only are Nests psychic pocket dimensions formed by the collective consciousness of the vampires, it's also possibly somewhere that the Trance is stronger/can be felt by others. There's also the red-crystallized people in them ("unfortunate victims," I think?), which suggests that humans are sometimes deliberately brought in, not just the heroes barging in to break them. I don't know if that's how the vampires let human cultists feel the Trance, but it's within the realm of possibility, based on what I know. (Oh right there's also the always-present buff that I think is literally called Blood Trance, among the otherwise-randomized two or three things that can change how the Nest manifests.) ...Or just. As it just occurred to me. The um. Area of influence that Nests create. Give a buff the vampires and human cultists within the area. So that's...another way the vamps might "let" cultists feel the Blood Trance. >_>' Though I do get the vibe that it's more of a personal, individually "gifted" sort of thing, either by blood or by invitation into the Nest.
And yes, WE know Dev's clever enough to invent teleportation, given his gadgets and accessing magic. But when vampires teleport, it's pure magic and hard to explain, so he feels like his version (being Scientific, and something he can explain just fine) has to be called something else. I just love he rattles off some techno-babble (which makes decent enough sense when you break down the prefixes and suffixes), and then shows that he can also simplify it for the layman to understand. It's a good skill to have, to be able to explain science in a way most folks can comprehend!
I think there is an emergency healing when you hit really low health, because I've had Remnants say they speed it up or increase it or something, but uh...generally if I get low, I die shortly after, so I don't know how much it heals or when it activates. XD So there is some minor recovery that can happen, but that could either be literal healing or just...taking a breath/being hit by adrenaline/getting a second wind in an emergency situation, and being able to push on/not limp with pain(/that sort of thing?), as a more mundane sort of recovery (which can then be magically boosted). But that could also just be game mechanics as an attempt to give folks a chance to regroup and stand a chance re-engaging in a fight, even if they're out of medpacks? (Though the medpacks also get boosted by some of the Remnants, hmm...shrug, healing vague, hard to explain in-universe in games that don't have explicit healing spells or the like.)
Oh yeah, more overt info on Bloodbags, the tutorial entry for them gives the best context: "Some cultists who serve the vampires in hopes of eventually becoming one, are instead transformed into a Bloodbag - a grotesque creature blistered with enormous blood sacs that serve as a rarefied food source for the vampires. With their new warped perspective, they see themselves as having attained a beautiful and lofty status, precious to the vampires." The one for Sin Eaters say they are "tortured" by the memories and guilt they're forced to contain.
Ah, yeah, Jacob's line indicates that folks generally had to bring in (or personally kill) someone as a sacrifice to get into the cult in the first place. And to bring in people to "earn" becoming a vampire...but I don't think it's a magically-required step in the transformation. Just something the cult enforces, as far as I can tell. Vampire mlm, indeed. XD And even vampires seem to bring in people to earn clout, there's a line that's...the beginning is muddy in my brain, but something like "next time, I'll bring in someone special. Someone...beloved." (Ah, and just realizing they sometimes call the heroes "beloved," ahaha...I was thinking they only meant "beloved to me before I turned," but uh. Guess not! We're fair game.) Also I snort-laughed at "bloodsucker (derogatory)" because there are certainly vampires that are delightful and could be called "bloodsucker (affectionate)" hehehe.
Oh wait hang on speaking of Jason and the questions I have about him, I hadn't even really thought to wonder about him until I heard one of the little bonus comments Dev can make in the interactive adventure they put out, have you seen those? (One of those comments is also the only time I've heard Dev sing so far and I will be SO SAD if they don't have something in-game to take advantage of the fact that his voice actor can sing! He's got videos on his youtube, he's really good! Remi's backstory says she can but he also definitely can and I! Want! A! Morale! Boosting! Performance! All the heroes have something musical they're good at what is Layla's though WHAT IS HERS, I want a performance in a safehouse with harmonizing and the instruments they're all good at and AAAAAUGH I WOULD W E E P)
Hold on, brain thoughts regarding the timeline, the game takes place in October and Aevum posters on the bus stops mention signups for the blood drive starting on March 31st. At Woodson's Lobster Pound, which is RIGHT across the street from Green Man Books, where Dev ended up doing his book signing. And GMB is also next to the Overton Theater. And across the street from a rooftop-bonfire signal-boosting cult setup. This man was TRIANGULATED So probably at LEAST that long, I would guess, as far as the cult undercurrent starting. The Firehouse note No Way Out indicates that the cultists were doing stuff like gathering around bonfires and harassing people for months (eventually even "pulling them out of their homes" and suchlike). And Captain Bellamy's Journal (right at the very start of the game) indicates that the vampires have been around for a few weeks. (”Creatures out of bad dreams biting into people begging them for it.“ And mentioning the Hollow Man already on the TVs/radios.) So I'm inclined to guess the alpha-vamps maybe transformed around/before March, found out they needed blood real bad to maintain their powers, set up the blood drive, and then started up the subtle cult undercurrent to ensure they could keep getting blood as well as...well, start the vampire mlm deal. I think the vampires stayed hidden for a while as they bolstered their numbers, and then eventually became bold enough to wreak havoc in public.
...Also, funny you mention "bound to test on mice," there's an Aevum whiteboard in their facility (and I think maybe Addison's mansion? pretty sure it was in at least one other place). Which has an illustration of two mice, and some info talking about the "parabiosis" that Addison was researching. (Which is probably one of the reasons why one of the books next to Dev's bed in the Firehouse is "The Mechanics of Blood Vessel Formation." The other is "Fluid Path Analysis in Medical Devices," but I'm less clear on the relevance of that one. Both are also reused in a TON of other places, as with all the books, but the ones by his bed feel Specific.)
And speaking of the animal waste, besides the DOZENS of cows left out in the fields...there was apparently some fuckin' cultist who put a gallon of milk in front of the stomach of a rotting cow, under the bridge in Winslow Fields. WHO'S THE WISE GUY WITH THE VISUAL PUNS, HUH. Like the rest of the situation was definitely to fuck over the townies, but. The cultists didn't even take any meat for themselves, there's only maybe a tiny bit from the ribs and stomach they might have taken, most of the meat is still there. YOU ABSOLUTE NUMPTIES. I swear the only (enemy) person that seems like they might know how to think ahead is the Black Sun, based on her comment in the beginning, about how "they want you dead, but I can use you." Or something to that effect, and assuming "they" are the other (alpha-)vamps. (She's been doin' me a concern since the trailers, I was able to spot the cult symbols for the other three and mistook the Twintree logo as maybe hers oops, but she remained the most mysterious which indicated Significance because too much would be pre-launch spoilers.)
Hrrrghgkgkh the recovery situation in Redfall is gonna be. So much. In so many ways. The people, the businesses (there's both closing and grand opening signs EVERYWHERE), the environment...aaaaugh it's a mess. (And all the poor students asking stuff like "do you think this counts as 'extenuating circumstances'?" Absolutely the fuck yes it does.) Oh shit...oh hell I know that cultists were witnessed pouring sand into the gas tanks of cars to fuck them up, but I haven't heard whether they've gone so far as to salt fields. Like so long as they didn't salt where they killed the cows, that...that pasture area will probably be able to serve as field? But asdlfkajaaaaah the more you consider the more this is a nightmare. x_x
Wait wait there was more in the grave locks about how the vampires are processing (or not) what they're doing, lemme see. (Not sure whether there's an influence or change of psychology after they become vamps? I think the removal of emotions and rationality is something that happens in the cult process itself, 'cause that can be REAL fucked up just on its own. And there's a couple different notes that mention peoples' personalities changing—becoming distant or cruel or suchlike—as an indication that they've been swayed by the cult, but clearly while they are still human. I don't think the Trance itself causes a psychological change.) The specific quote is ”They forget who they were. Or, they want to forget. They pull out their own rememberings and leave them to rot.“ The surrounding grave locks also talk about the vampires who were already monstrous before turning, and are fine with (or even eager to) kill. I think the Trance is a neutral connection, and if there's any sinister influence...it's simply an extension of how cults are. Maybe strengthened somewhat by the literal psychic connection, but mostly rooted in the cult environment.
Huh, I suppose the nests are probably formed by packs, be they semi-permanent or temporary groups of vamps who hang out together. There's always a whole bunch of them in there, and I imagine lower-level ones can't individually create and support a Nest. Likely a group effort, built by their thoughts and desires, where they go to dream...(And then wake up if you run into their glowy sensory tendrils that show up while you're in there.)
Thankee for keeping an eye out for any Mothman mentions! And yeah I've got a couple different options to look at for inspiration, including but not limited to the statue with the notorious butt and torn moth-like wings, haha. (Although the shape of its wings is closer to butterflies with its positioning. Moths are typically angled horizontally and somewhat more triangular. Though that statue's wings could also be interpreted as either leathery OR feathery, if one argues that the scales on real moth wings are akin to very tiny feathers, hm...)
@melchinafan Sorry for the late ish response I feel kinda sick so it took me a while longer to organize my thoughts. Also here we fucking go apologies for no read more sins I am on mobile
And no I haven't seen those ign articles! More canon info to add to my hordes! And Jacob :( sad baby girl. I'll probably post those (The screenshots of the new info)  later for easy access for others
Your point on all 4 of heros being effected makes me wonder if Grave lock girls magic has sort of an area of effect or if the alpha vampires magic is a double edged sword in positively affecting the heros
And ooooo I didn't know there were other blood remnants that came in dif forms makes me wonder if they are somewhat similar to the alpha vamp remnants bc I think i remember it being mentioned somewhere the vial also had psychic residue?? Could not be I'm just losing it but eh. And the psychic residue perhaps being in the blood/body? And that's why it alters you?
And yeah I agree! I think that we don't carry them into the fight just to crack open the door and sort of wave a red flag at a bull sort of way
And then when the alpha vampire dies we get the remnant imbued with a bit of that vamps specific magic
And yeah perhaps using the skulls almost a psychic lockpick if those chosen had been imbued with some of the alphas powers (referring to the trickle down effect you noticed, Vampire mlm is a concept that will be lodged in my brain now)
The biggest one for Bellwether not giving a shit I believe was a piece of dialog that said like "once we get out of here do you think they'll drop a nuke on this place" which made me laugh bc I audibly went just like resident evil grqt2h3 which despite some of the negative reviews comparisons to other games the lack of resident evil with vampires is making me laugh (I mean it in a positive way I'm very attached to RE)
Plus I don't think a privately funded not so small military/mercanary group is gonna lose sleep over a "few" civilian casualties (especially not when you can write em off as vampire deaths when it comes down to it)
Yeah I agree! One of my main grievances was I wish that side quest/mini bosses got more diversity and watchers idk if those are miniboss types as I think they go down p easy (but like I said can't/haven't played the game so I could be wrong) they seem closer to the mutated cultists than "true" vampires
And totally get you on lore one of my other favorite games is destiny 2 and holy shit the amount of environmental storytelling/lore is so strong they have a fan run website to compile it all so I totally get you.
And ooo I'm always looking for new games to watch/obsess over so I'll have to check it out
And yeah unfortunately the people I watched wernt too into grave lock collecting and the only 100 locations video I've found doesn't play em in full
And yeah with Addison I won't spoil it but holy shit he was the worst one too me I wrote out/expanded on the house of Echos mission so I was rewatching and it ended up being 4k words but also it was woof. I almost wish they swapped the order of the map start out in the second way with the other 2 then work into the 1st area for the hollow man
Yeah my sort of interpretation (both in how I'm writing and general fun) is that his Ravens outlines + his guns lock on are from that eye but a fun thing I had was giving them all like the way things are highlighted blue for you to grab some of the psychic residue as most of the psychic energy we see (barring layla) tend to be a pale blue - teal(?) Ish color and it was just funny to me that the highlights for important objects were similar
I agree with vampires probably having night vision as they are supposed to be a sort of apex predator so night vision fits with the whole can't go in the sun.  It does make me wonder if Jacob would run into issues in direct sunlight with that eye time to invest in sunglasses my guy
And yeah I hadn't considered the psychic spaces as like stronger spaces where the trance is louder, bc in my thoughts I think the trance is a seperate but adjacent magic thing to what turned them into vampires
It definitely seems like the magic sort of got them all or bolstered abilities in some way and come on we both know that devs def smart enough to crack teleportation lmaooo necessity is the mother of invention and all that. But I do think that magic and science go hand in hand (destiny 2 is so great for that reason aswell because so much of what looks like magic can be kinda turned into science)
I think Remis ult is pure video game but healing it would make sense if it gave out a sort of opposite end of the spectrum vampire healing and helped you regenerate by like tapping into that magic that's settled in you or the vials/remnants
yeah we don't know how the healing actually works as you don't regen health unless you find medpacks which leads me to believe you do have to needle and thread it up instead of magic video game heal as explained in dishonored or prey
And yeah I'm assuming vamp regen at best at worst, you should uhhhh probably got get that looked at bud and yeah blood as fuel is a good idea even if it was connected or disconnected
And yeah the tissues, I'd imagine a wash cloth would be slightly more useful than tissues but eh and yeah sort of a gunk goop dripping thing (ie Eris Morn from destiny with her hive eyes)
And yeah! I think to be a bloodbag/sin eater it also I think is slightly voluntary(?) As the sin eaters are like that. And the blood bags seem pretty eager so maybe the most devoted cultists get turned into em
And yeah I'm uncertain bc I remember for one of the missions Jacob has a line like "but slitting the throat of your neighbor to get in." Or smth like that it's been awhile
And yeah vampire mlm, and yeah definitely maybe the more sacrifices brought in = higher chance of getting turned
I think it's a bit of both as we see with the alphas they were all real shitty people beforehand and yknow being willing to kill others to further your own gain definitely fits under "bloodsucker" (derogatory) in my mind lmao
And I think that's why Jason got away was bc hes not a bad person and was rather selfless hence but still also perhaps shaped by the intent of the person giving you magic (jacobs raven, laylas telekinesis which is something other higher up vampires can do as weve seen with the sea) But also made to shape you're own natural abilities remis healing, devs gadgets :) especially in those latter two cases where they wernt forced really to have the powers
The slow boil is soooo intresting to me bc like where were they? Like in the nests psychic spaces and just coming out to feed plus with the size of the alphas I think that'd kick up a fuss
I think probably a but of both, as drug trials/medical research like aevum was doing was bound to test on mice at least and upon observing the effects may have worked there way up to humans but huge fucking claw marks are probably vampires especially from what we've seen they are extraordinarily wasteful with animals perhaps both as food and ensuring surviving humans can't get it
And birds + animals disappearing evokes a similar feeling of when animals tend to dip before natural disasters because there senses and instincts are so much stronger than ours but also vampires killing them because they couldn't go after people yet
also lmao yeah like idk where tf they were going with that like was the plan to eventually move out of redfall or use it like a home base or smth bc you kill the animals and the people you're gonna have to start eating each other
And yeah I have to imagine at least one cultist was wincing and didn't voice it but was very much like aw come on guys
And yeah! Idk if it's ever explained if vampires exclusively have to eat blood/meat or can eat other things aswell
And oh my God don't get me started on the impacts of introducing a fuck ton of apex predators into your ecosystem and food chain not to mention if other animals mutated and are breeding. Like just removing Wolves from Yellowstone was enough to fuck over the ecosystem I can imagine something on this scale plus the probably intense growth from the decomp rates of bodies.. anyone in an environmental science field would be tearing their hair out (specifically my own redfall oc whose a park ranger is not having a great time with that)
You would have to build ground up essentially as trying a top down approach would fuck up the few remaining secondary and primary consumers (obligatory environmental science rant over)
They all def do the trance def is giving hive mind vibes aswell as a removal of emotional/rational thinking makes me wonder if the blood trance heightens base instincts/hunting drive or aggression like with animals being aggressive and shit being fucked
And oh def, bc each of the bosses has there own space but the nests aswell which makes me wonder if vampires have their own allegiances or a nest is like a pack
And yeah hindsights 20/20 and yeah fears a hell of a motivator and cults pray on scared lonely people with no other options and yeah in too deep
I haven't! Unfortunately I haven't watched a dev playthrough and there's not too many multiplaythroughs on YouTube but I'll inform you if I come across any! And as for rough speculation on mothman physique(?) I think leathery makes sense from someone as logical as dev since it glides so it being similar to a bat or moth it almost makes me think of point pleasants.. intresting... statue of the mothman to say the least...
And yeah woof the scientists sure as hell are doing some malpractice although I'd admire arkanes commitment to fuck the rich with them being consistent enemies.  And yeah sorry this got Hella long

Moments of Despair #1 [Genshin Impact/Diluc x Reader]
Tumblr media
Synopsis: “The man who was on fire and realized it too late.”
(A series of works where the boys deal with the passing of their beloved).
Albedo's despair
Warnings: angst, tragedy, major character death, graphic depictions of violence perhaps
(A/n): Had these ideas for a while after reading @/serensama To Mourn series of another fandom. So much sorrow and feeling I just was inspired to write 😫
_______________________________________________
The moment you fell lifeless in Diluc's arms, he wanted to disappear.
It was raining again, he had always despised the rain. How it trickles down the slope of your cheek, like tears falling from the heavens. The sight of it mixing with your blood creating a thin stream of red rivers flowing beside him. They patter down obnoxiously because time didn't care, the gods don't care, the world didn't care. You were just a small fragile person to their eyes but to him you were his light. A candle that used to shine in his dark world was now dissipitated by the waters of reality.
Many droplets have passed and he was still holding you. Diluc could do nothing but stare. He hadn't shed any tears nor could he make a coherent sound. Perhaps it was because his tears have long run out when his father was held in the very same way. Or it was because he was heartless. He's usually told for being cold and indifferent. But the pain clenching in his chest was proof that he still had one (proof that it was still beating), much to his dismay. It would be better if he didn't.
So why can't he just look away? Your wounds, your bruised features, everything now etched so deep into the back of his conciousness that is was starting to awaken his worst nightmares. They were the source of the bile growing in his stomach. The irony stench filling up his nostrils felt so sickening. He couldn't turn away. You're dead. You're dead. You're dead. As if reality had yet to register, or maybe he refused to accept it, Diluc helplessly gazed down your body with blank and empty eyes.
"Master Diluc..."
Jean's voice called out to him pitifully. He rises up with his back turned, ignoring the stares given to him, "Leave. The knights of favonius are not needed here."
"But she's a Mondstadt citizen," The anemo user retorts, slightly taken aback by his impassive reaction, "It's my responsibility to ensure this case doesn't go unnoticed."
Unnoticed. Diluc scoffs in his mind, what a tasteless joke.
"It seems you weren't listening," he announces as his head was turned ajar so they could see the deep hatred glowing red in his eyes, "Leave. Now."
Jean's lips trembled before barely being able to say, "Alright" and retreating her knights back to the city. Kaeya narrows his gaze at his bother, the sorrow was evident through his pupils. He steps forward until he was arms length away from his brother. Too little too late, another failure was added to the belt.
Kaeya was a man of many words but for once he was at loss of what to say. No underhanded suggestions, no ideas taunting him to spill his thoughts, he simply asks Diluc, "What are you planning to do now?"
Silence. Kaeya couldn't predict what sort of expression his brother was making as he looks at your corpse. It brought a heavy weight of unsettlement upon him and here he thought he had already grown used to his brother's quietness.
Slowly, he turns around while letting the water pour down his face. Kaeya tightens his jaw as Diluc drags his feet towards him, stopping when their shoulders were parallel, "It's none of your concern."
"You're just going to leave her here?"
There was a slight pause which was enough of an answer. The Cavalry Captain sighs when he watched him walk away, what was the point of asking when Kaeya knew Diluc so well? He glances at your form before swiftly shutting his eyes.
It was his concern.
-------
A week later, the staff of the Ragnvindr household could hardly recognize their Master's appearance. They knew not to bother him when he decides to lock himself in his chambers. Diluc drowns himself with work from hours to no end as he connects the findings of the person that took your life. As expected, it was one of his enemies- a fatui member. The question was, which one?
"Master Diluc, I beg of you, please take care of yourself," Elzer pleads.
The pyro user didn't bother to spare him a glance or look at the tray of food he carried.
Food...you always brought them whenever he had to work overtime.
"I do not remember specifiying anyone to be allowed in my office," he voices aloud, "If it's related to business affairs simply leave that with Adelinde and I'll take a look at it tomorrow."
"I understand. But you've been working all day and night yet refusing to take any breaks in between. At this rate, you'll harm your health."
The feather pen in his grip kept dragging it's course, "This is beyond the duties assigned to you Elzer."
"That's because it was a request sent by your father," he adds, knowing that stepping over his boundaries may cost him, "If Master Crepus was still here, I'm sure he would have said the same thing."
Taking a deep breath, Elzer lays out his last card, "And also your wife."
The pen slows into a halt.
No one had brought you up until now. Elzer anxiously watches his Master shifting in his seat, his red bangs covering half of his face but he could still see the frown pressing firmly on his lips. It wouldn't be a surprise if Diluc suddenly bursted at him for mentioning such a sensitive topic, all that matters was his master's well being and Elzer was willing to risk everything for it. But nothing. Diluc turns his attention ever so slightly at the tray he carried.
"Fine, but I'm not eating that."
"What? Wasn't this was her favourite-"
"Do I need to repeat myself?"
Elzer furrows his brows before sighing, "...No, Master Diluc."
He exits the room while carrying the fresh dish of Once Upon A Mondstadt that you loved so much. The door closes with a soft click and he was alone again.
People found it strange how Diluc seemed so vacant to your passing. He didn't even show up at your funeral. Instead, he continues his duties as a Mondstadt nobleman like usual while taking care of business matters associated with the winery. Except those who were close to him could see the difference in his actions. Apathy, he was so mechanical in every task he did. Like a marionette attatched on strings, a doll without a soul. After all, his soul died the moment when yours did too. What remains was a shadow of Diluc and a being existing solely for revenge and duty. He was nothing but a remnant.
Fatigue begins to wash over him and he fights to stay awake. Because once he gives in it will all be over. Once he closes his eyes, he would see your face with a multitude of images from the past. He would hear your voice calling out his name from a distant space as it echoes off the walls of his mind. He would fall into a dream where you were still with him and as always, waking up to see that it was never real.
I should have pushed you away.
Because what hurt Diluc the most wasn't that you were gone, rather, it was how you were still here.
Then you'd still be-
Something breaks and it turned out to be the pen he was holding so tightly. Only now Diluc realized how fast his heart was thrumming as beads of sweat began rolling down his forehead. Focus. Don't waste time. He won't grant himself the liberty of anything when your murderer was still on the run. Every wound they inflicted on you was going to be returned in tenfold. He'll make sure of it. That's why, he refuses to think about you at all. Diluc occupies his mind with other matters since at this point, work was the only efficient method of keeping his sanity in tact.
She needs you to focus.
The door opens and Kaeya enters the room while holding a document, "We found the guy."
His reaction was immediate, "Where?"
"Hm, now that we meet, it's actually quite debateable," The captain notes wryly, "When was the last time you've gotten proper rest?"
"I don't have time for this, either you tell me or I'll do it by force."
Kaeya couldn't help but sigh, "Apologies but you don't seem to be in any state for a fight. I'm sure you know how it would end up if you were to face your enemy right now."
"..."
"Diluc, this isn't healthy," Kaeya asserts, it's been a while since he sounded so sincere, "I'm not here to prevent you from doing what's necessary however, perhaps it would be better if I finished it in your stead."
"No," Diluc stubbornly answers, "Hand that over."
"...Heh, then there's really nothing I can do to stop you it seems," he whispers with a sad smile, "At the very least, be careful."
"I intend to," The pyro user snatches the paper parchment out of Kaeya's hands before opening the window, "Also, if Elzer returns, tell him there's a few errands I have to take care of."
The night was a full moon and the sky was empty, Diluc leaps off the edge and disappears into the darkness. There was no telling of what could happen next. Since you weren't here, it was up to Kaeya to watch over him.
-------
The claymore dropped to the ground with a clang as it soaks up the blood of the fatui he just killed.
Diluc was tired, so tired.
He slumps down against the wall from pure exhaustion, all that adrenaline and hatred went up in fumes, leaving behind whatever was left in his heart: nothing. Two hours, not even that far from Mondstadt, the fatui hid in an abandoned building as he cowarded for his life. When Diluc arrived, he never expected this monster to be so weak. This was the person who murdered you? A pathetic nobody that was simply following orders? This was the reason why he lost you forever?
In the end, the only one to blame was himself, for being weak and unable to protect you. He was supposed to be your hero ("Darknight hero," you'd always tease), the rock that shields you just as you had been the warmth he longed for many years, did he give you enough? Was this enough? He thought avenging your death would grant him a peace of mind and the justice you deserved but deep down, he knew it will never be enough when it comes to his love for you.
"Diluc."
He closes his eyes, he hears your voice. He was so tired, it wouldn't be a surprise if he started hallucinating.
"Diluc."
"I'm sorry..."
The man lets out a trembled breath as he apologized to the image of you in his mind. I'm sorry I failed you. They were repeated like a mantra in hopes to reach you somehow. Of course that was impossible, his feelings, his emotions, love and sorrow altogether will never reach you again. And your arms that once comforted him and brushed his hair with a soothing voice, saying everything will be okay, where are they now?
"Diluc."
"Stop," he didn't want to hear your voice.
"Diluc, I'm here."
"Stop..."
"Diluc..."
He jolts his eyes open and lets out a yell, what was he saying? He doesn't know. All he needed now was to drown out the fake voices mocking in his head. Diluc grabs the nearest object and shatters it against the floor, the dam was broken and it flooded uncontrollably, breaking everything in it's way. The abandoned house was filled with loud cries of a man sobbing with agony like a broken-hearted child. He crumbles to his knees and falls to his side, lifting his forearms while clutching his face.
And screamed.
Archons, what did he do to deserve this? Why do the people he cherish get taken away from him? Diluc never wanted to be the Darknight hero if it meant having his father perish in his arms. He didn't want the feeling of stabs against his chest with every breath he took. He didn't want to feel cold while knowing it was because you weren't here to hold him. He didn't want your voice, your pictures or your memory.
He wanted you.
"(Y/n)..." he chokes. Rolling to his back, Diluc moves his arms to cover his eyes, letting the tears run down to his ears, "(Y/n)..."
For who knows how long, he lays there in the abandoned building and mourns. Diluc doesn't have the strength to move from his position, he found himself staring mindlessly through the cracks of the roof when his voice had gone hoarse. The corners of his eyes still burned and his head was throbbing with so much pain. Maybe he should just stay here but the thought of being in the same room as your murderer was unfathomable.
Picking up his claymore once again, Diluc drags himself out of the door. Where would he go? It's not like he had a home to return to because home was when he was with you. A doll without a soul, the marionette moves as if the strings have commanded him to do so. Where ever it takes him, he didn't care. He just knew he had to go.

PART TWO OF GHOSTBUR!!! Since you seemed to like the first one! :D
They all pause for a moment to take in what they just heard.
Wilbur...? Doesn't remember them...?
Tommy is the first one to speak up, sounding more hurt and confused with just an edge of anger to the words. "We...We're your family, Wilbur!! Wil- ...Wil are you-" Tommy doesn't want to believe that Wilbur doesn't remember them, he doesn't want that... "Wil, you better not be fucking with us-" he starts again, sounding more angry, fresh tears beginning to fall. "Cause if you are, I swear to god-"
And he stops as he finds a hand on his shoulder. Tommy turns and finds Techno.
"Tommy...he doesn't remember us Tommy..."
Wilbur shifts around, floating around slightly and awkwardly. "Y-you all seem to care a whole lot..." his hand moves to his chest. "I can't remember how I died...I can hardly remember anything...I'm so sorry if you knew me well..."
Tommy gets angry again- calling it anger is a disservice to the emotional turmoil, he was upset and scared and happy and so so sad- and Techno gets ready to hold him back again when another voice interrupts them.
"Knew you...?" It was Phil... "Knew you??" He pulled up his hanging head and tears ran freely. "Hell, Wilbur- I RAISED YOU!! I know you better than I know myself!! Wilbur, don't you recognize me? Recognize us?" He takes a step toward Wil and so much pain and hurt reflects in Phil's eyes- it hurt to look at them. "Wilbur we're your family! Those are your brothers...!! And I'm-" he remembers the explosion, the pleading of his son- kill me, kill me, please kill me- and takes a shattered breath. "And I'm your father."
Wilbur looks around at the broken family.
A boy who looks as if he once held his entire world in his hands, only to have it melt through his fingers and spill to the floor.
A man who looks like chaos incarnate, now heavy with guilt and shame, a horrible tiredness running through him endlessly.
A boy who looks as though he'd been through hell and back with a smile on his face, still trying to be happy for others around him.
A man who looks as though he had the world. As though he had absolutely everything. And now his everything was gone.
And Wilbur speaks. "Was..." he gulps in a breath at the teary eyes, almost not wanting to know the answer to the question on his tongue. "Was I a good brother?"
Memories flood the minds of the family.
Tommy recalls times of when him and Wilbur would make huge pillow forts when they were younger and of how whenever Tommy was upset, Wil would come up behind him and lay himself over his shoulders in a lazy gesture- not quite a hug, but something that felt the same.
Tommy also remembered Wilbur, eyes alive with insanity and agressive cruelty. The Wilbur that would scream at Tommy and pound his fist against the wall and tell Tommy that he was hopeless.
Techno remembers times in his life where him and Wilbur would sneak out of the house together to go hunt mobs- Wilbur never really wanted to be there, but Techno would never have gone without him. He remembered how when Techno would lock himself in his room and quietly panic, only to hear the calm strummings of a guitar from the other side of the door until Techno calmed down.
Techno also remembered the Wilbur that wanted to blow up Manburg, that wanted Techno's help in it's destruction. The Wilbur that craved chaos and hurt and pain. The Wilbur he had helped to destroy good.
Tubbo recalls times after he was adopted into the family, times where he would struggle with reading and writing and Wilbur would silently walk over and help him. He remembers times when he feels lost and Wilbur would pass by him humming a tune Tubbo would recognize, and soon the two of them would be singing loudly in the livingroom and laugh when Phil came down and yelled at them.
Tubbo also remembered Wilbur, actions shaky and plagued as he spouted on and on about Manburg and L'manburg and would sing stuttering and manic lyrics to a half-finished song and scribling them to a wall of his insanity.
Phil remembered Wilbur, the moment he came into Phil's life, the moments that he would have to wrangle the pure-hearted chaos of the boy with eyes that sparkled with neverending wonder and curiosity and passion. He remembered moments when Wilbur would begin to cry or leave the house telling the others he was "going for a walk" when they all knew he would break down the moment the house left his sight- he remembered the way he once cried for an injured bird when Phil told him the animal wouldn't make it, and remembered the way that Phil wasted a health potion on the little bird that night, just to see him smile again.
And Phil remembered the Wilbur in the control room. His eyes, his voice, his actions- a shattered and twisted version of what Phil had known him to be. The way his voice cracked and the way his eyes were alive with pain and madness and the way he fell to his knees as the home he had built was blown to bits. Phil remembered the way that on his knees still, Wilbur grappled onto Phil's coat and begged him over and over to end him, so much pain and hurt and trapped craze in his voice it shattered Phil.
"Was I a good brother?"
They were silent.
And then a small word from a small boy- a boy now president of a ruined land. "You were the best big brother anyone could ask for, Wilbur." They looked to Tubbo, who hadn't spoken a word the entire time. His eyes still dripped tears, but he had the most wonderful smile on his face. "You were the coolest big brother in the world. Why do you think we're so happy to see you again?" He gave a wet laugh. "Hell, you were amazing! Did you know that you used to help me with my english homework cause I couldn't read? A-and you would sing songs with me when I was sad!! You were the kindest brother a man could ask for."
"For real, Big Man!!" It was Tommy's turn to speak as he tried fruitlessly to dry his eyes. "You don't remember, but you and me made the most massive forts and we would hide there for hours and scare Technoblade!" Tommy laughed fondly. "I remember one time Techno was carrying a stick and hit me on the head when i scared him. You sat down with me and told me that I was okay and that we were gonna whack Techno with a billion sticks when I felt better."
"You..." Techno was hesitant for only a fraction of a second. "You used to help me sneak out of the house and we'd do all sorts of crazy things. You always said you were watching after me to make sure i never got hurt." He gave an amused chuckle at the memories. "You would play guitar in the hallway when i was upset, no matter what time it was. You got in trouble a lot for that, but you never stopped."
"Wilbur..." They turned to Phil as he adressed his son. Phil remembered and remembered and couldn't stop remembering and everything he remembered was good and every single memory was filled with thoughts of Wilbur- that's my son!- even in his last moments, and even the moments after when Phil had known he was long gone but held him closely anyway, he remembered the way he felt. Wilbur had never stopped being his son, Phil had never once stopped loving him. "Are you proud of me, Phil?" And the blonde man let more tears roll down his cheeks.
Phil tugged the ghost man into his arms and held on as if he ever let go, Wilbur really would disappear and be gone forever. "I'm so proud of you, Wilbur..." He spoke into the ghostial yellow sweater his son wore. "You were and still are the best son a man could ask for...i know you forgot that. But you know now and that's all that matters. I'm sorry i wasn't a better father, but know that i am so proud of you...so so proud, Wilbur..."
And Wilbur hugs him back.
It's hesitant, but it's there.
And Phil's other sons will know that as Wilbur embraced his father, tears rolled down his face in an unstoppable flow of emotion that Wilbur himself didn't understand completely, but his brothers did.
Wilbur doesn't know why he was crying. He didn't remember these people. But their emotions and connections were so so strong he felt the hints of distant memories flood him.
Someone giggling as they stacked things together.
Someone singing loudly with him as they danced around a room.
Someone chatting and joking with him under the stars.
Someone there, always always there. They never left...and they loved him so much.
"So..." Wilbur tried to keep his voice even, but found he could not. "I was a good brother?"
He was flooded with more arms- the embrace of his siblings, all shouting and telling him he was wonderful.
Tubbo...he remembered the name and he felt emotions attached to the name and the face, but he couldn't remember why.
Tommy...he could recall emotions attached to that name and was flooded with involuntary emotions when he looked at his blue eyes.
Techno...he could recall the name like an old friend and knew immediately that he was a comrade- a friend- a brother? He knew that name but couldn't understand why.
And Phil...he knew Phil. The memories were so blocked and so fuzzy and he could only just make out a smiling face, but it was Phil. He didn't know why and he didn't know how but he loved that name.
He loved all their names, and was overcome with inexplicable emotions when he saw them.
"...Dad...?" Wilbur finally let the word fall from his lips.
Phil held him closer.
"You were the best son I could have ever asked for..."
(I can keep the story going if you want! I really like drabbling this it's so much fun lol! But for now this is a good stopping place cause the ask is hella long.)
MANNNN I AM IN L O V E. THE WAY YOU RIGHT IS SO NICE AND FLOWY AND IT ALL JUST WORKS SO OERFECTLY TOGETHER! AND THE PARALLELS??? MMMMMMM
PLEASE KEEP GOING IF YOU WANT IM BEGGING

7 huge Emmerdale fan theories that will blow your mind
What's next for the villagers? The superfans have some ideas.
Emmerdale fan theories, Cain Dingle, Robert Sugden, Moira Dingle.
In recent months, Emmerdale has really gained momentum. With new arrivals, flashback surprises during the special Big Night Out episodes, heartbreaking and hard-hitting storylines for Victoria and Lisa and, of course, the gripping twists in abusive Maya's downfall – it's been exciting stuff.
We all know one sign of a great soap storyline is if it gets fans talking. Currently, Emmerdale has a wealth of fan theories about what might happen next. Social media has been rife with speculation and we've put together some of the best theories for you to ponder over. Do they sound probable or are they way off the mark?
1. Victoria will give her baby to Robron
Victoria Barton confides in Moira Dingle in Emmerdale
ITV
One of the biggest Emmerdale theories of the moment centres around the outcome of Victoria's pregnancy after her horrific rape. As this storyline has played out in parallel to Robert and Aaron's struggling surrogacy plans, fans have put two and two together and speculated that Vic will give her baby to Robron.
While we know Victoria is pregnant, not much has been said yet about whether she plans to go ahead and have the baby. With brother Robert desperate to have a child with his husband Aaron, could Victoria's tragedy have an unexpected outcome for all three of them?
In truth, we have our doubts on this one, as it wasn't so long ago that Victoria was desperate for a baby herself, so we'll just have to wait and see what she decides...
I'm wondering if Victoria will have her baby and give it to Robron #emmerdale

2. Maya has groomed other boys
Maya Stepney in the woods in Emmerdale
ITV
Ever since manipulative Maya began worming her way into Jacob's affections, viewers have wondered whether she has done this before. She might have protested her innocence to the police and Jacob's loved ones, but her efforts to groom him have shown a clever and vindictive woman at work. Could it be that there are other victims of Maya out there? Could they be the cause of her downfall?

3. Laurel and Jai set to be Emmerdale's next big romance
Charlotte Bellamy as Laurel Thomas in Emmerdale
ITV
Forget Robron, Coira or Vanity – could Emmerdale's next biggest ship be Jaurel? After Laurel's disastrous affair with Bob, are producers lining up her next romance with another unlikely admirer? Fans think they've spotted sparks in the Sharma sweet factory between Jai and Laurel, and they've certainly been spending more time together in recent months.
Since Jai's last relationship with con artist Nell ended badly, he's been on his own and even actor Chris Bisson expressed interest in Jai having a bit of happiness. What do you reckon, could that be with Laurel?
Anyone else getting the feeling that Laurel and Jai are going to end up together? #Emmerdale

4. Moira or Cain will cheat
Moira Dingle in Emmerdale
It hasn't gone unnoticed that things have been strained between Cain and Moira of late. With Cain spending more time with ex-flame Harriet, and Moira left to confide in new farmhand Nate, even the couple themselves seem to be aware they've hit a rough patch. With frostiness at Butler's and each of them spending more alone time with others, could this be a sign that Coira are doomed to split?
Theories circulating have predicted Cain might return to the arms of Harriet again or Nate's attraction to an older woman might mean he'll bunk up with Moira.
But Coira fans might not need to worry too much yet as actor Jeff Hordley's recent interview on This Morning suggested Cain and Moira are solid. Unless this was just to throw us off the scent...
I really don't understand where emmerdale going with the Cain/Harriet and Moira/Nate. I just know they love messing the Cain and Moria fans around. I just want them to have a decent storyline. Not in involving exs. I'm not worried about Coria they love each other ☺☺☺#Emmerdale

5. Is Mandy Dingle dying?
Chas Dingle attacks Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale
ITV
You might think the Dingles have had enough tragedy in recent times, but that doesn't stop fans speculating that there's more on the way. When Mandy Dingle returned earlier this year, she hinted that she hadn't revealed her biggest secret, and left without another word. While some fans predicted that her son Vinny could be Paddy's, others had more heartbreaking ideas.
Could Mandy's real secret be a terminal illness? Was her brief visit to Emmerdale to set up a later story where she makes peace with her family and comes home to die? Whatever Mandy's secret, we'd love to see Lisa Riley back in the village – her fun return was all too brief.

6. Jamie's mystery caller is Joe Tate
Alexander Lincoln as Jamie Tate in Emmerdale
ITV
There's no better way to get soap fans speculating than by throwing in a mystery phone call. Newcomer Jamie Tate has so far seemed nice as pie compared to his mother Kim, despite being embroiled in a car accident in his first week. Nevertheless, Jamie seemed clean cut until we saw he was hiding a secret – twelve missed calls.
Fans' thoughts immediately turned to Joe, once presumed dead and now AWOL somewhere in the world. Could it be him who's trying to get in touch with his estranged uncle? Or is there someone else desperate to get in touch with Jamie?
I bet you that’s joe ringing jamie #emmerdale

7. Adam Barton will make a return to the village
Victoria and Adam Barton fear Pete has threatened their adoption chances in Emmerdale
After Victoria's rape ordeal, we've only just begun to watch her heartbreaking story. But some viewers are already predicting there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Could a return of Victoria's ex-husband Adam Barton give her back some happiness?
We've seen how much Victoria misses him and with actor Adam Thomas reportedly keen to return, we wouldn't rule it out. But just what would this mean for Moira and her killer secret?

Cherry's heart went out to Natasha as she spilled so much from her heart. Cherry knew the feelings. The waiting game of seeing who was next to leave. As Natasha slid off the counter with teasing word Cherry found herself reaching out for the younger woman's hand.
"It's hard..." Cherry said softly as her fingers closed over Natasha's, "to be the one left standing. You ask yourself...why you? What did you do to lose so many people? What gift could you possibly have that the universe would seek to keep you when so many others are so much more qualified to fight..." her brows dimpled as she twined her fingers with the younger version of her dear friend. Cherry wanted to tell her she understood that pain. The pain of losing family, of friends, lovers, and even your very self, but she didn't want to tred on the younger woman's feelings. "but you are...you wouldn't be here if you weren't meant to be here, Nattie. You wouldn't be Strange's friend if you weren't meant to impact his life somehow. I can't think of anyone better to look after him. My Nattie, always did her best to help me when I was the most helpless...mess of a person. She knew how to pull me out of my pain because she knew it too...and I have a feeling you know that as well...and no doubt that's what you offer to him,"
Cherry tried not to speak of her Black Widow too often around Natasha. She knew it made the young woman uncomfortable, but the parallels were there. The red string of fate seemed to connect them all.
Wong gave them a moment. Knowing the pain and loss both women had gone through. As far as he knew, Cherry hadn't shared her history with Natasha. Her bright and happy face belayed so much pain. He did everything in his power to keep her happy.
When there was a break, when Natasha finally turned to him, he expression was much kinder and gentler.
"Many of our Younglings are orphans or children who have never been away from their home. Being able to pull sparks is something that can takes months or years of practice," He gave a chuckle, his dark eyes creasing, "Ask my Strange sometime how long it took him to summon his very first sparks,"
"We celebrate First Sparks as it's a Youngling's first real steps into the world of magic. You should be proud of that. You don't need to be a part of our "club" to do that. You're our friend and if Stephen isn't going to abide by tradition, then I will just have to do it instead,"
He tilts his head a little at her question, "You'll be the guest of the Sorcerer Supreme. No one should question your place there, Nat,"
@shieldagentnatasharomanoff liked for a starter!
“What was he thinking?” Wong demanded as he paced in the kitchen. “He, of all people, should know the proper precautions for teaching astral projection…” He paused and shook his head. “I take that back, I’m the one who knew and he stole the books out from under my nose. Well…Stephen did, who taught Strange I still don’t know, but he still shouldn’t be endangering you like that,”
Cherry hid an amused smile behind her hand, her blue eyes twinkling. She was happy Natasha had come by for a visit. Wong was too, but after a Natasha spun a few yarns for them about her adventures with their mutual shapeshifting terror (affectionate), he clearly was very upset with Strange’s lackadaisical approach to introducing Nat to magic.
Cherry leaned against the counter, watching the Sorcerer Supreme gain another head of steam as he paced, waiting for the cookies she had in the oven to finish baking.

Do we think that maybe the whole Kobe Bryant thing is the straw that broke the camel's back?
Its just something more real to us
To those people watching basket ball and enjoying life while all those human traffic victims work underground...
Its finally just that one well hello... The world aint been as good as we thought?
I remember when Kobe was accused of rape and it hurt my heart and i was shocked and i did check in with the development of the story.
I'm not taking sides. I'm not saying anything about him just how it hurt me.
And so... Earlier i watched a video about Auschwitz i posted here an i cried during it. It was so difficult and so bad.
And so maybe Kobe Bryant represents to SOME people something different. Like the death of their own innocence.
Like their favorite toothpaste was made by a slave and they never knew.
I mean the world is going through something tragic. Not just the deaths
But Auschwitz. I know some of our human traffic victims were gassed. And i know some died just this year.
And so i know what we are hearing about and thinking about is simply tragic.
Every single of our gassing victims were brought back to life relatively immediately and i hadn't posted about them because that's not what we want to know about. I did post about the gassing we prevented but there was gassing after. But they were revived.
So i didn't think of it before. I just wanted people yo have space and their ability to have their own time and way to grieve or deal with what they needed to in regards to Kobe Bryant before anything other was said.
But for me there's things that will be the last thing i expect to just cause all the strength I had to just say... Hey babe it's time to cry now. Just go ahead and let it go. It may seem stupid or irrelevant but just let it go. And cry for days Just because i need to.
And I see a very deep theme with Kobe And his secret life parallel running with our planet's secret human slaves.
Much like a rainbow promise of an end.
Now there's no evidential facts posted now. So don't start throwing words. I ain't here to listen to you.
Im listening to what i see in this video. Because for the first time i said why haven't i seen people crying for hostages, human trafficked victims, and so on?
As many of you know I am blocked from a lot of media, being a POW.
So i have not seen any tears regarding human trafficking.
So I'm all why can't they make a huge deal of them? Why can't people cry over those that are being hurt?
Okay so never mind i just can't see it...
So I'm not throwing down about it.
But it's what side stepped me to seeing that this is a breaking point for many people
Its also a stepping point for others.
Its many things depending on your level of activity and understanding and busyness.
I am announcing on Sunday Friday night we will have devastating news followed by amazing news. So if you hated Kobe you will know why and you will be floored by your intuition. If you loved Kobe because you saw him play in his first year or because you only saw his good side, you will have a better grasp on the difficult time I had with Matt Hagan.
At any rate, regardless how you feel, please do tune in.
In the end... There will be no bad news about Kobe.
In the end i say. During you'll want to keep your vomit bags close to you and keep Tupac in your heart.
I've written about each topic that you'll see on Sunday. Friday.
The Magic Tree said he can make a version which will flow smoother. Because we had Part A and Part B which would make many people sick so he did from 2 hours to 1 and a half and it's a much happier story throughout so it's less traumatizing but will be over all shocking.
So that's on Sunday Friday night.
There are points where it is said that you should protect your child from the information. And there's a table of contents which will be available tonight here Which will let you know which break is for which.
For example break 1 is for the 2016 coverage. So then it will say break 1. So you refer to the table that will be pinned here to see what it is going to be about.
So if you don't want your self to see something graphic or your child you'll know to change the channel or put it on mute and look at your phone or what have you. Its color coded and a thin colored line will be at the top of the screen. So say break one is blue. A blue line will be on the top of the screen if you can't be handling such an issue and there's also going to be a time start that will be listed here.
So you'll see it's very traumatic and can be triggering and the information will be very detailed. With evidence. Which means videos of each event.
So the table of contents is very simple and can be misleading so you guys can kinda play around in your mind about what they mean
You will find how you have loyalty. To people or to truth or do you bow to intuition?
How do you think?
Did you have it toying at the back of your ear all along? Did you tell it to fuck off? Or did you like really feel the ill of it?
It's to help you learn yourself.
So we're not going to mess with your minds here. We will allow you to naturally flow through the information if you would like.
Mark Anthony is tripping on me. So i will say that number 2 has two ways... I think it's the best way yo say it. And currently only one way is in the video and at the end There will be a multiple answer question where you use the intuition you have to answer and there will be prizes just for answering which will differ on how you answer. So if you answer it correct the first time then it's a better prize then if it's you did the correct answer then changed it then went back to the first Its the same prize. There's a little system
So 24 hours to answer then 24 hours to claim the prize
The question will be posted after issue 2 is over and so you can answer right away but the 24 hours start 1 hour after the show is over. This way you have a free hour to process the information. But if you are a better answerer like me when you first hear the information you have the chance to answer right away before you get busy with more information. You can answer as many times as you like. No hash tags necessary.
Otherwise there will be a comprehension quiz which will be rewarded as usual. It will be one post that you'll need to answer in all. Like a test at school.
It should be fairly easy if you watch it. If you don't watch certain segments and take breaks instead you just write that on that question. Like skip, break. Didn't watch.
Or you can guess. Who did ..... in segment 4? I guess Kobe from all the internet reactions.
They are gonna do a little magic and so 4 hours after you watch the video to the end the quiz will show up for you. Then it will automatically grade it for you And show you how to access your prize or deliver is the word Mark Anthony used.
I'm gonna hint at you. If you are missing someone because they are dead, you'll want to do that quiz ASAP. It cannot be submitted until you finish unless you have work or something and you can't watch it live
So if you answer the question about segment 2 correctly because you ARE at work... Then you will get the surprise in advance
So for real people working and only for reals remember i am super strict... 1. Try your hardest and give your for real answer. 1B you will not have the ability to see it. But to enjoy your surprise while watching the video late -- do number two. 2. Answer all the answers. Do NOT do all of the above or none of the above those are wrong, do A B C D E etc one has to be correct.
So you'll do
Real answer: C
Winning Answer cause i was for real at work or transporting to or from or volunteering to help empty a human traffic facility: A B C D E F G
Or however many answers there are. They say only to D.
.....
Now people watching LIVE will finish the comprehension quiz to make sure you actually paid attention to get the prize.
No one will get prizes until 15 minutes after the show ends. So don't be rushing
Quality matters. If you get 100% correct you get more prizes. If you get 40% well you will get one and good luck.
