I get asked this all the time, "So, how did you get into this whole diaper thing in the first place?"
I thought I'd take a moment to talk about it!
I am not a "factory-installed" abdl, but rather an "after-market upgrade". I was first introduced to diapers and the whole abdl scene through my ex. They, being a longtime DL, told me about their diaper fetish pretty early on in our relationship. I was only 18 or 19 at the time and thus quite innocent and inexperienced in kink and sexuality in general. I was at first a little confused by the thought of being turned on by diapers, but very open-minded to learn about and discover why this fluffy, absorbent plastic-backed thing did it for them, and for so many others I came to find out!
They encouraged me to do a bit of investigating and education on my own into the world of AB/DL to see if I could find something about it that spoke to or resonated with me. I popped my online-kink cherry on the Tumblr of old. The Tumblr where porn, especially diaper porn, reigned like golden rays of sunshine. You could find it all and see it all on Tumblr back in the day. I quickly stumbled upon lots of ddlg content, and here was this thing that seemed to incorporate my budding, but long held interest in being submissive *and* my ex's interest in diapers. And ~voila!~ MisterAndLola was born.
We focused on building a ddlg dynamic, including the use of some AB stuff like onesies, cute socks, Goodnites, and calling them Daddy. We started our first Tumblr blog, TheDiaperedandtheDamned. We began to take some cute pictures and post them on Tumblr and Reddit. I bought a few toys and coloring books, decorated our Guest Room with some decals and fairy lights, and started to try to wet in my pull-ups.
It turns out, it was a lot harder than I thought! I would practice wetting while sitting on the toilet and when home alone. I was extremely nervous about leaking, and was struggling to get my potty-trained brain and body to let go. My ex had the thought - why not get some adult diapers and try those? I would surely not leak using those and it might make me feel safer or more comfy in the thought of "unpotty-training" my mind. The crazy thing is, it worked. And there I was, wearing diapers. I believe the first couple I tried were ABU Lavenders and DC Amors. I felt extremely silly, but also shyly naughty wearing these crinkly, poofy undergarments. And the thought of peeing my pants, wherever I was, started to turn me on. The taboo factor of willingly peeing in my "underwear" as a thriving, strong adult woman felt delicious. I loved the feeling of being naughty.
The first time I finally full-on wet my diaper, I immediately felt burning humiliation. And that also made me feel deliciously naughty. It turns out, I really have a thing for pee. My own, others’, it excites me and always pushes my button. I don’t have an inherent fetish for diapers, but I think I do for pee, or more generally, liquids. Even the feel of my own slippery wetness when I’m aroused does it for me. And being covered in cum…yup…that does it for me too.
After months of growing and exploring and trying on the role of “little girl”, I realized that I really don’t find a lot of joy or fulfillment in age play. The ddlg dynamic wasn’t really working for me or my partner at the time. But the fondness and growing arousal for being in and peeing in diapers…that was just beginning. Thus, my diaper kink was born.

Dichotomy of Thought || 11
Past and further chapters here.
Simon and Johnny make up.
|| Chapter warnings: Anal fingering, anal sex, baby-trapping, medication tampering, medication control.
-
Your boyfriend manages your medications, a one-man pharmacy.
Every morning the pills are waiting for you on the table in the foyer beside where you deposit your keys in the evening. There are two of them.
The first is oblong, tan. Your boyfriend hoards and hides the bottle, but you’d fished the information pamphlet that came from the pharmacy out of the trash, and you know everything there is to know about it from that page jam-packed with text. Sertraline, 50mg. Otherwise known as Zoloft. Just swallowing the tasteless pill makes you remember the even darker days than the ones you’re living now, the ones that had led you to that waiting room with your boyfriend in the seat beside you waiting for a doctor to see you. How do I know if I’m depressed, you had asked the doctor, bold as anything even with your boyfriend’s hand on your knee, or if my life just isn’t worth living?
You’d learned. By God, you’d learned.
The other pill is your birth control. Round, sometimes blue, sometimes white, depending on where you are in your cycle. Today it is white and—
It looks—different.
He wouldn’t, you think to yourself, thumb nudging at the pill in your palm, like seeing it from a different angle might jog your memory of it. He wouldn’t do that. A kid is the last thing he wants. He wouldn’t sacrifice his own freedom just to keep you trapped underneath his thumb.
Exceptwouldn’t he?
“Hurry it up,” he says, yawning, like you kept him up late last night. “I want to go back to bed.”
You try to take a picture of the pill in your mind before you drop it onto your tongue, taking a swig from your water tumbler, but your brain feels so scrambled that you forget it right away. You can’t even remember the color—had it truly been white, or had it been the pale sky blue of robin’s egg?
It goes down like a lump of chalk. He makes you show him your empty mouth before he’s satisfied that you aren’t cheeking the pills, and then he kisses you and tells you to have a good day at work, honey.
-
“Rooster wants you in his office,” Jackie says under her breath, helping you hurriedly clear one of your tables. You’re slow with the splint on your smallest finger, the throb of pain lancing all the way up your wrist each time you use the damaged hand. Jackie has been an angel in khakis picking up your slack.
You wish that you had one of the pills that they’d given you in the emergency department. It hadn’t taken away all of the pain, but it’d made your head feel light and floaty and like you could care less if all your fingers were broken. Or maybe you wanted one of Johnny’s pills—the ones that put him in a peaceful sleep. You haven’t had such a thing in so long that you can’t remember when, even your moments of relaxation tainted until ‘rest’ is just waiting for the next act of violence.
“What does he want?” you ask.
“Probably to tell you about the raise,” she says. She rolls her eyes and twirls a fingers, mouth set in a grim smile of comradery. “Fifty cents. Writing home about it as we speak. Or maybe he wants to grill you about who keeps stealing from the registers—like we all don’t know it’s Ruth.”
Fifty cents. You can’t even turn up your nose at it. Every penny is one that brings you closer to that apartment across town. With a promise that you’ll return as quickly as you can, you step off the floor (avoiding making eye contact with any customers who would happily sideway you for refills or to complain) and into the back of the house. It’s quiet back here, cooler. Rapping your knuckles against Rooster’s door, you wait.
There’s no response, and no sign of him in the hallway. Some of the line cooks are coming in, filtering toward the break room to start their shift. You feel their eyes on you as you stand impotently outside the door. One of them says something to the other, and there is laughter, too loud and boisterous for the enclosed space. Your heart has begun to pound, sweat breaking out at the nape of your neck.
“Hey,” one of them says to you.
“Hi,” you mutter, forcing a smile, unable to make eye contact.
Still there is no sign of Rooster from either end of the hallway—never would you have considered the short man your savior. Heart racing, you crack the door open and see that the office is empty. You slip inside, shutting the door safely behind you.
The room is as self-important as you might imagine: a desk that seems too large for the space, filing cabinets in the corner. There’s a corkboard pockmarked with holes after years of use, and you drift over to it, too anxious to take a seat in the chair on the other side of Rooster’s desk. A calendar is posted there, Rooster’s neat handwriting here and there.
Something catches your eye: LOCKER CLEANOUT marked for two weeks from now.
It seemed like the last locker cleanout had just happened. You had only collected five hundred dollars back then, but it was far too much to want to explain to Rooster, and you had nowhere else to stash it that was safe. In the end, it had sat in an envelope under the driver’s seat of your car while Rooster took the week and went through each of the lockers to ensure compliance with the restaurant’s rules (all because someone used to have a penchant for leaving snack cakes in their locker leading to a bad case of ants that almost led to the restaurant being shut down). It had been the longest week of your life, like driving around with a live bomb underneath the front seat.
Now you have nearly two thousand dollars. Where the hell were you going to put it?
The door opens. Rooster looks at you suspiciously, eyes flickering between you and the calendar.
“Next time, wait outside,” he says, stepping in and shutting the door behind him. It makes your skin crawl to be alone with him, even if he’s never done anything slimier than asking you to pull a double shift. You know the darkness that lies inside men. All men.
“Sorry,” you mutter.
“Don’t be sorry,” he says, taking his seat in a squeaky rolling chair behind the desk. His smile is a dismal, strained thing, like interacting with you is just as painful for him as it is for you. “Next time, just wait.”
-
Johnny and Simon spend the day in bed.
Johnny’s knee is propped up on a pillow, red and swollen. Simon lets his fingers hover over it, gentle, feeling the warmth of Johnny’s skin. Johnny winces, like even the brush of air against his knee hurts.
“It looks infected,” says Simon.
“It’s not.” It can’t be. Johnny can’t handle that—can’t handle the idea of having to go through the surgery on his knee again, the recovery, the way recovery is just synonymous with pain. No, it isn’t infected. “Just looks like that because he hit it.”
Simon leans down and brushes his mouth against Johnny’s thigh. It’s meant to be sweet but—well. It’s the closest his mouth has been to Johnny’s cock in more than six months, and just the sight of it has Johnny’s heart skipping a beat and picking up again in double-time, his face growing flush. Not privy to Johnny’s thoughts, all Simon does is press a chaste kiss to the skin a few inches above where Johnny’s swelling starts—nevermind what else might be swelling now, too.
The two of them lay entwined together, Simon curling up around him. He plants a hand on Johnny’s clothed chest, right over his heart, like he’s trying to remind himself that Johnny’s here. That Johnny’s alive. The look in his eyes is far away, mouth drawn down into a tight frown. All at once, Johnny’s downright sick of it—sick of them not having anything to smile about. Sick of fighting.
Johnny takes Simon’s hand, laces their fingers, and guides it down. Down over his slim, firm belly, watching from the corner of his eye as Simon’s brows climb up his forehead. Down until their hands cup his half-hard cock. Simon’s hand shifts straight away, fingers curling around the solid length, thumb stroking up the side, the gentle rasp of his calloused fingerpad loud against the cotton of Johnny’s boxers.
“You’re hurt,” Simon reminds him.
“Don’t care.”
“I do.”
“We don’t have to fuck. I just—” he doesn’t know how to explain, how badly he needs to feel something good. How badly he needs to know that his connection with Simon isn’t ruined. How badly he needs to see that they’re still lovers, that Simon isn’t just his live-in caretaker. How badly Johnny needs to feel like a human being—like a grown man. He finishes, a little lamely: “I just need it.”
Simon’s grip goes firm. Johnny’s eyes shut, mouth falling open at the sensation. He hasn’t even touched himself like this in weeks, and while he hadn’t necessarily been keeping track, his cock clearly has been. Simon seems content to go on like this, mapping the shape of Johnny’s cock through his boxers, thumbing over the head until a wet sticky spot appears in the cotton fabric, his hand sometimes drifting down to cradle the warm heft of Johnny’s balls.
Johnny, usually impatient, contents himself with this torture. Let Simon tease him all day, if he’d like, until Johnny is liable to go off at the whisper of a touch. The thought has his cock jerking toward the warmth of Simon’s palm, and Johnny groans when his grip tightens.
“Fucking pretty, aren’t you?” Simon mutters, his eyes on Johnny’s face.
Johnny snorts. He tosses his arm over his eyes, but beneath his arm, he’s grinning. “Shuddup.”
Simon clicks his tongue. “Be good, Johnny. Let me look at you.”
Johnny moves his arm and gives his grin room to breathe. His head feels light and airy as Simon sits up and helps him work his boxers down his thighs just far enough to draw his cock out. The first touch of skin on skin has him hissing a breath in through his teeth. Fuck, it’s good. Just as good as it always was—maybe even better, because he needs it so bad.
“Want you inside me,” Johnny says on a whim, feeling the truth of it in his chest. He doesn’t just want it—he needs it.
Simon leans down and kisses him, just a little too hard to be mistaken as anything but desperate. How long has it been for him, Johnny wonders. He spends every waking moment with Johnny except his perfunctory showers. Does he indulge then, between soaping and rinsing off, holding his breath to hide his sounds while he strips his cock with one slick hand?
It takes some maneuvering to get Johnny on his side, knee nicely cushioned. He can’t reach back and touch Simon, can’t grip his hip and pull him in closer, and it’s just another reason to miss his arm. Because there are a hundred thousand touches Simon deserves that Johnny can’t give him anymore.
They’re lucky for the shelf life of the lube. It warms Simon’s fingers as he works them past Johnny’s rim. He takes his time, hands shaking where they touch him.
“Need it bad, huh?” Johnny wonders.
Simon snorts but doesn’t deny it. Just curls his fingers searching for that tender spot inside Johnny’s ass that makes him grit his teeth. His cock drools onto the bedspread, red and throbbing with his heartbeat. By the time Simon slips inside him, chest to Johnny’s back, Johnny feels liable to go off at a moment’s notice.
For all the time they haven’t fucked, Simon remembers everything: the way to touch Johnny, wrapping a strong arm around his chest to make up for the one Johnny lacks, fingers playing with the whorls of Johnny’s chest hair or teasing one of his nipples; the way to angle his hips to nail Johnny’s prostate.
“Quit,” Johnny groans, shifting until the stimulation isn’t so good, so dead-on. His cock aches, balls heavy and tight. “I don’t want to cum yet. Don’t want this to be over.”
“Can’t miss Johnny; dick’s too big.”
Johnny guffaws. The sound nearly startles him—when was the last time he fucking laughed? With you in the park—but he doesn’t need to be thinking about you now, not you with your small, soft hands and the curve of your mouth…
“Fuck—touch my cock, please touch my cock—“ Johnny whines, body trembling. He’s right there, right fucking there, too close to go back now, fuck it all, he wants to cum. Simon’s strong fingers curl around his cock and strip it firmly, and the pleasure inside him bubbles up and over, left too long to simmer. He nearly headbutts Simon in the face, his body shaking and jerking and cum splatters against his belly and the bedspread and down over Simon’s fingers.
“Just like that—so good, Johnny,” Simon murmurs. His pale hand grips at Johnny’s sharp hipbone, cum smearing against Johnny’s skin. “My turn.”
Afterwards, Simon gently helps him undress and goes to get them both fresh clothes. Johnny’s knee throbs freshly just from his muscles tensing, but he barely feels it. For the first time since his accident, he thinks that maybe things will be okay. He has no arm—but so what? There are many with a lot less. He’s John fucking MacTavish. He can do this.
Simon has gone still at their closet, holding something in his hands. Johnny leans up on his elbows.
“What is it?” he asks. “Did you find my lighter?”
Simon holds up with no preamble a skull-embossed balaclava. It’s worn, the fabric gone gray at its most threadbare spots, but the image imprinted on the front hasn’t faded.
“Blast from the past,” Johnny says, throat uncomfortably tight with an emotion he can’t name. “Thought you threw those out.”
“Thought so too.” He doesn’t look eager to throw this one out though, his fingers tracing over the teeth, like he’s tracing the lipless mouth of a lover.
“You miss it,” Johnny says, the glow of their sex fading rapidly. Of course Simon misses it. The military had been his entire life—until Johnny’s accident. Until Simon had discharged with him, to take care of him. Johnny hadn’t just blown apart his own life by going down in the helo in Kazakhstan, he had blown apart Simon’s life too.
“No,” Simon says simply. “It’s not that.”
Johnny frowns. “What is it, then?”
“The night of the poker party—I was Ghost again. It was the only way I could…compartmentalize. Stomach it. I’d forgotten.”
“Forgotten?”
Simon glances toward him. “Forgotten how useful Ghost could be.” Reaching up, Simon slips the balaclava over his head, adjusting it on instinct until it rests just right against the bridge of his nose. His hair is getting long, little blond strands visible, curling at the ends.
“Now I want to fuck you again,” says Johnny, just to fill the air between them, and because sex used to be such an easy way to fill it.
Simon doesn’t smile.
“Johnny.”
“I was just teasin’—“
“Not that,” Simon says. Even his manner of speaking seems different, words clipped, tone short and no-nonsense. “What if I wanted to go visit our neighbor?”
The question lingers in the silence between them. Johnny swallows, the sound of his throat an audible click in the tense air.
“You,” Johnny wonders, when he can speak again, “or Ghost?”
Beneath the balaclava, Ghost smiles.

The Proposal AU! (part three)
Summary: when your boss Agatha faces the threat of deportation, she convinces you to marry her in return for a promotion- and things only get more complicated with a trip to Salem, an eccentric tarot-card-reading aunt, and a homophobic mother to convince.
Agatha Harkness x Fem!Reader
TW: deportation (which I admit I know very little about I'm not American lol) suggestive themes, sort of arranged marriage
W.C: roughly 1.4k words
PARTS: ONE, TWO
As soon as you left Hayward’s office, Agatha started furiously typing on her phone, the crease between her brows growing deeper with each step out the building. You simply followed; uncertain of what else you were meant to be doing right now. Packing, you supposed. But your first priority was to get some information out of the woman, who was currently on a mission to remove herself from the building, striding at least three steps ahead of you at all times.
It wasn’t until you were both sitting in the taxi that you finally had the chance to speak. “So…” You started, paused, then realised she wasn’t going to put her phone down anytime soon. You sighed. “We’re going to Salem?”
“Unfortunately,” Agatha murmured. “If I can get in contact with my mother, that is.” She spat, resuming her frantic typing.
You scowled, leant closer to peak at the phone screen and tried desperately to ignore the way her perfume pleasantly filled your nostrils. Something about being in close proximity with Agatha was mesmerising. It always had been, but it seemed this latest situation was worsening your complex feelings towards her. If someone asked you to label it, you would say admiration, but deep down you knew it was something greater than that. You simply refused to acknowledge it.
“So, you weren’t originally going to visit?”
Despite having to be involved in Agatha’s life, you had never heard her talk about her family. Not once. It didn’t surprise you. It was near impossible to picture the woman in any scenario other than sitting behind a desk, winding up one of your coworkers for their incompetence, or shmoozing a business deal. Although you imagined her prickly personality had to come from somewhere, and shuddered to think what her mother might be like.
“No.” Agatha scoffed. “I try my best to stay as far away from family gatherings as possible.”
“I’m guessing you’re not close…?” You questioned, slow and cautious.
“God no.” She shook her head, strands of hair coming loose from the vehement movement. “I want nothing to do with my mother and her coven of freaks.”
You tutted, suppressing a smirk at her colourful choice of language. But instead of pursuing the topic further, you turned to look at the scenery flying past the window. “Shouldn’t have mentioned it to Hayward then…”
“Well, with your parents ever so conveniently out of the country, it did appear suspicious that we wouldn’t tell a single soul.”
“Could’ve eloped.” You murmured.
“Sorry, darling.” Agatha droned; her tone petulant. “Next time I’ll set us up a nice horse-drawn carriage down to the registry office.”
You took in a deep breath, ignoring the surge of irritation at her smarminess, something you recognised you would have to learn to cope with for the next painful while. You had no idea how long this whole process would take, and realised with a sudden stab of guilt that you would have to eventually inform your parents of this decision.
If you explained it was to keep your boss’ position at the company, rather than any dumb, spontaneous act of love, they would surely understand, right?
“Agatha?” You called, met by a hum of acknowledgement. “Are you telling your family the real reason for this marriage, or are we going to have to keep faking it?”
“Oh, my mother’s a raging homophobe.” Agatha chuckled bitterly, refusing to meet your eyes. “If she doesn’t immediately kick you out, I’m going to enjoy riling her up.”
“That doesn’t answer my question.”
At last, Agatha’s focus was diverted from her phone as she looked briefly over to you, mildly intrigued by your perseverance. “I was just going to see how it went when we get there.” She replied, shrugging.
“Great…”
“And until then, don’t mention this to a single soul.” Agatha jabbed an accusatory finger in your direction. “We continue as normal for the next day and a half, with me singlehandedly driving this company to success, and you following me about all dazed and heart-eyed.”
“What!” You protested. “I do not follow you about, nor do I have heart eyes!”
“Whatever you say, sweetheart.” She smirked, radiating an irritating charm that had you forgetting how to breathe for a second. You wrung your hands about anxiously in your lap, willing yourself to relax.
“Our flight leaves at 6pm on Friday, so we’ll have to go straight from work,” Agatha said, changing the subject. “You can hide your luggage in my office, and we’ll have my driver pick us up so that saves that hassle…”
She trailed off suddenly, and despite your insistence on not getting too caught up in the intricacies of your boss’ behaviour, you peaked over at her. Just like earlier in the immigration office, she was chewing at her lip, this time with a faraway expression. You frowned, sensing she was nervous about something. It set you slightly on edge to see her this way. Agatha was never nervous. Big meetings didn’t faze her, important deadlines never stressed her out and public speaking was like a second nature to her. Where once this bravery had been sickeningly envious, its disappearance now gave you concern.
Agatha was a mystery to you, one you were reluctant to address, yet desperate to understand.
---
Agatha flopped down onto her desk chair with a huff, allowing her head to fall backwards and feeling her neck crack with the movement. The tension that racked her body seemed to grudgingly resist lessening, and she considered whether she ought to just take the remainder of the day off. But that would be suspicious...
She loathed the idea that her every decision was being monitored but dreaded to imagine the other option: moving back home, back in her mother’s grasp. She hadn’t seen the woman in over ten years, and to think now that she would spend the weekend in her company… Agatha groaned, letting her face crash forward into her hands. She squeezed her eyes shut, and in the darkness saw only her mother, pictured how she would be reacting to the news that Agatha would be joining them for part of the trip.
As per usual, her attempt to reach out to her mother had been met by silence. She was starting to suspect her number was blocked, and thus Agatha had instead chosen to inform Lilia Calderu about this impromptu reunion. The woman was cooky, but kind. She had always been Agatha’s one ally within the family, and since her emancipation, was the only one who had bothered to stay in contact.
As if abruptly summoned from her thoughts, Agatha’s phone buzzed across the table, likely holding more information from Lilia. With a sigh, she reached forward to raise the lit screen into her eye line, yet was surprised to be met by another’s name
[4:10pm] Jennifer Kale: you’re coming to Salem????
Agatha chuckled, though not out of humour. Jen was one of the many people her mother seemed to just acquire. It was a terrible feature of Evanore Harkness: that the crazy gravitated towards her, became involved in their family and never left.
The word ‘family’ didn’t quite sit right with Agatha. It was more like a cult.
[4:11pm] Agatha Harkness: I am. I take it you’re still hanging about?
[4:12pm] Jennifer Kale: well when you abandoned ship someone had to replace you.
Agatha scoffed, ignoring the wave of irritation at Jen’s phrasing. She was irreplaceable. Though the idea that her own mother should even try to swap one daughter out for another didn’t exactly come as a surprise. Nonetheless, it still hurt. Agatha crossed her arms over her chest, deciding to pursue the conversation no further.
[4:15pm] Jennifer Kale: Lilia mentioned you were bringing a plus-one. who is she?
At this, Agatha’s loathing softened ever so slightly. Jen was one of the few that had supported her coming out, had even attempted to defend her from Evanora’s outrage. She picked the phone back up, feeling a smile grace her lips as she started to type.
[4:15pm] Agatha Harkness: someone I’ve been seeing for a while. She’s nice. You’ll like her.
The message was a simple lie, but it did the job.
Still, reading it back Agatha found she had a lot more to say about you…

Dan: They only onboarded me today and I have orientation tomorrow. Hopefully I get to meet some of the animals.
Ares: Oh so that’s why you have those goofy shoes, I thought you were leading the girl scouts for a second.
Dan: You’re buggin! Frances said they were cute.
Ares: It’s not a bad look, it makes me feel like we’re going on an adventure.
Dan: I bought you a boba and this is how you treat me?!
Ares: [ snickers ] Where are we going, captain?
Dan: I hate everything.
Ares: Ok, ok! You’re right I shouldn’t treat sugar mamas like that.
Dan: Ares! Shut up!
Ares: [ whispers ] I think the whole store is looking at us.
Dan: And?? Let them look.
Ares: Wait, wait, make sure my hair looks good.
Dan: You’re so…
Ares: Well?
Dan: It looks fine.
Ares: I am proud of you by the way.
Dan: Really?
Ares: Yeah! It’s cool, graduation’s around the corner and you have this sick job to look forward to.
Dan: Oh! Neat.
Ares: Did I say something wrong?
Dan: Not at all, I guess I want to feel the same excitement as my friends do.
Ares: Ah, I see. Well, you know it’s alright to feel that way, right?
Dan: I know. Walk me to the train?
Ares: [ nods ]
-
Dan: My mom would project all of her dreams onto me. So success doesn’t ever seem real to me. Like there’s always some sort of ladder to climb.
Ares: You ever think you haven’t found the right one?
Dan: I do but then again I worry if anything truly is satisfying enough to try.
Ares: Then maybe that’s the issue.
Dan: What is?
Ares: We’re too busy measuring things by success rather than happiness.
Dan: Ahh, I see the vision.
Ares: Maybe take this step as the thing that’ll allow you to build a future you want. Like a platform.
Dan: I guess I’ve been under the impression that a career was the end goal not the foundation.
Ares: Felt that.
Dan: Yeah right.
Ares: Dan, I don’t know what I want to be. There’s music, photography, going back to school. I feel like I’ve spent more time trying to pick something than actually doing it. You have something to work off of.
Dan: So do you. Plenty of things.
Dan: Look, you should listen to your advice as well. There’s a lot of good stuff in there.
Ares: Hey, don’t move.
Dan: Noo. I hate having my picture taken.
Ares: Then act like I’m not here.
Dan: That literally changes nothing.
Ares: Oke I’m taking it now.
Dan: Ugh.
Ares: Shit. You might’ve blinked.
Dan: Seriously?!
Ares: [ laughs ] No. Not at all.
Dan: This dude.
Ares: You should catch your train now.
Dan: That would be smart.
Dan: Ares?
Ares: Yes?
Dan: You’re a pretty cool guy.
Ares: Ah. Nice, nice.
Dan: Awkward as fuck too.
Ares: PFFT I’m leaving now.
Dan: Bye.

Brother's best friend! Noah
Pairing: Noah sebastian x reader
Summary: sneaking out at night (again)
The house is quiet as you lie in bed, staring at the ceiling. The soft hum of the voices coming from the TV still on in the livingroom is the only sound breaking the silence.
Outside your window, the stars shine brightly in the deep night sky and the light filtering through the curtains is softly illuminating your bedroom.
It's been a couple of weeks since Jolly found out that you and Noah are together. He promised not to tell anyone and he kept his promise.
Your phone buzzes on your nightstand, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You reach over quickly, hoping it’s him. Knowing it's him.
Noah: I’ve been waiting for this all day
Noah: But Nicholas is still watching that damn movie.
Noah: If he doesn’t wrap it up soon, I’m gonna lose it.
You look at his texts as a little sigh leave your lips.
You: I know. I can’t even leave my room if he is still there.
You: It’s like he’s never gonna go to sleep.
Noah: Yeah, he’s definitely watching some crazy long documentary or whatever.
Noah: I bet we’re gonna be up til morning.
You roll your eyes, imagining Nicholas sitting there with that seriousness of his. There’s nothing that man loves more than a random documentary, sometimes.
You: That's so annoying.
For a moment, your phone doesn't lit up with a new text from Noah, and you already know he is thinking about something.
Noah: You think you can get out of your room from your window?
You freeze. Did he just suggest what you think he suggested?
You: Have you gone crazy? You know that’s not a good idea. It’s like 2 AM.
You can almost picture him grinning in his room as he texts you.
Noah: It’s the first floor. Just a little jump.
Noah: I’ll be here to catch you, don't worry. Give me 10 minutes.
You stare at your phone screen for a moment, unsure whether to laugh or scold him.
You: This is a terrible idea. What if someone hears something? What if they realize one of us is not home anymore?
Noah: Trust me. I’ve got this, it's not different than sneaking into my room.
Noah: You’ll be fine. Just get ready.
Reluctantly, you place your phone back on the bed and move to the window. You crack it open a few inches, peering into the night. You can see the glow of the porch lights shining on the grass below, but there’s no sign of Noah. You wait for a couple of minutes more.
A moment later, Noah is standing there, his hands tucked into the pockets of his oversized hoodie, the hood pulled low enough to hide his hair. He immediately smiles at you.
“What are you doing?” you whisper, trying to keep your voice steady as you lean out just a bit further.
Noah looks up at you. “I expect a "oh Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" Not a "What are you doing?""
"Dumbass."
"But you love me. And I love you too. And I wanted to see you.”
You roll your eyes but can’t help the soft smile that tugs at your lips. “Yeah, yeah,” you mutter, though the words come out more fond than annoyed.
Noah’s grin widens. “And I know you wanted to see me too. So here I am. Let's go.”
You chuckle softly, glancing down at the ground. He’s right—it’s the first floor. You can definitely jump without breaking anything.
"Why can't you just come inside now?"
"I liked our last "date", walking around and holding your hand like we are not hiding anymore. Even if it lasts only like an hour."
With a deep breath, you push yourself away from the window and quickly put on your coat.
Then, you take his hand, feeling the familiar spark of his touch that always both sends your heart racing and calms you down, and he helps you down onto the grass. The air is cool, but not too cold.
When he kisses you, for a brief moment, you let yourself forget the dangers, forget the secrets you’re keeping, and just breathe in the fresh air before losing yourself in the taste of his mouth.
You both start walking down the street, side by side. It’s quiet at this hour, with only the distant hum of streetlights and the occasional rustle of leaves in the trees. You can’t hold his hand like this during the day, can’t show him affection without worrying about someone seeing. But here, in the night, you’re free.
The walk is slow, peaceful. You don’t need to speak; just being together is enough.
You point to a group of stars in the sky, and Noah, pretending to know the constellations, starts making up their names, causing you to burst out laughing.
Then, out of nowhere, a small, scruffy cat darts across the road, stopping near a mailbox. Noah’s eyes light up in amusement, and he immediately drops to one knee, his smile softening.
“Oh my god,” he says, practically cooing. “Look at this little guy.” His voice drops to a teasing whisper as he holds out a hand to the cat. “You are the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, aren’t you?”
"Hey!"
"You are the cutest thing I’ve ever seen after my girlfriend, aren’t you?” He corrects himself.
You laugh, bending down beside him to join in. The cat doesn’t seem to mind the attention, rubbing against Noah’s hand with a soft purr.
You both chuckle. It’s so silly, so simple, and in this moment, it feels like you’re just two people enjoying a night under the stars, not two people hiding your love.
Eventually, you both stand up, saying bye to the cat, and Noah put his arm around your shoulders, starting to walk back home, keeping your hand in his the whole time.
When you reach your window, Noah helps you back inside. He leans up against the ledge, his face so close to yours that your heart nearly stops. You can smell the faint trace of his cologne mixed with the night air, and you feel like you could stay in this moment forever.
“Goodnight,” he says softly, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips and you lean down the window one last time.
You smile, feeling warmth spread through you as you gently pull back. “Goodnight.”
“See you tomorrow,” he says, his voice lingering with the promise of another secret meeting.
“Yeah.” you whisper back as you smile, watching him retreat to his own window.
This was your second date outside. You were almost getting used to it.
And you loved it.
The day after, you would find out that while your brother was watching the whole extended version of The lord of the rings, he noticed that Noah left his airpods on the coffee table in the living room.
And when he suggested bringing them to his room, to avoid him thinking he lost them like last time, Jolly insisted there was no need.
He was probably already asleep.
You definitely owed Jolly a big favor.

Tunnel of Love ❤︎
Playful Land is one of the coolest theme parks ever! The rides were exhilarating and the attractions were even able to keep finicky Floyd’s attention. However, you noticed something as you were checking out the map once more.
“Hey what’s this thing here?” You asked Fellow as you showed him the map. He stifled a sigh before glancing at the map.
“Oh, that? Why that’s our… ‘Tunnel of Love.’ It’s popular amongst couples, but i’m sure a blossoming young scholar like yourself wouldn’t be interested in something so trivial.”
Fellow clearly didn’t know you very well, because just as he was finishing his sentence you grabbed the hand of the guy you had feelings for and dragged him towards the Tunnel of Love with you!
Ace
you wanna go on WHAT with him?????
acts embarrassed and like he doesn’t want to ride but he does
you just can’t tell deuce that he went on this ride. he’ll never hear the end of it.
“of course you’d pick something lame to ride.” “well you don’t have to go on it with me.” “no we’re gonna ride it now.”
“ugh this ride sucks. it’s so slow and boring.”
he’ll groan while reaching out to grab your hand. yknow just in cause there’s an unexpected drop or something. (there is no drop)
he had fun and will smile about it when it thinks about it later on
does he thinks it’s worth the teasing from trey and cater? “well… maybe.”
Trey
he’s embarrassed, like really embarrassed.
not because he’s embarrassed to be seen with you or afraid he’ll be teased (which is unavoidable) but because he’s not very experienced with this kind of thing
“so..is it alright if i hold your hand?”
he’s glad the lighting is so dim in this tunnel; he would hate for you to see him so red in the face
he’s kind of awkwardly silent the enter time because he has no idea what to do or say
however as the ride goes on you notice him scoot continuously closer and closer to you
he gathers the courage to give you a small kiss on the cheek as you get off the ride
“sorry i was weird. let’s do that again some time. i’ll definitely make a bolder move then.”
Cater
he knew about the tunnel of love from social media posts and was gonna ask you first but you beat him to the punch
he’s gonna take so many pictures (for his own personal collection)
“okay, now let’s make a heart with our hands! cute~! scoot closer to me now. mwah~ got you!”
what a sly guy… and he got it all on camera
he doesn’t spend the whole time taking pictures though. he wants to savor the moment alone with you as well
he is immune to the teasing of the others- they’re probably just jealous he gets to spend 1 on 1 time with you
“am i gonna post the pics on magicam? no way. they’re just for me~!”
Leona
“no.” “pleaseeeee????” “no.”
he says while standing in line and waiting to get on the ride with you.
it’s something to do at least. “beats babysitting the rest of that lot.”
you were gonna try and be flirty and put your head on his shoulder but he beat you to it.
“wake me up when this is over.”
how romantic. leona asleep on you. (っ- ‸ - ς)
for leona though, he actually had a good time. taking a nap on you after a long day of being annoyed by a bunch of herbivores? he enjoys it
he’ll never tell you that though. but you can assume from the faint smile that graces his face as he gets off the ride with you
Jack
ooooo somebody’s tail is wagging
not that he’ll admit that he’s excited or anything. because he’s definitely not.
if you thought trey was awkward get a load of this guy! he’s as stiff as a board and won’t even look at you
“nervous? ‘m not nervous.. there’s not anything to be nervous about.”
sure jack everyone believes you (¬_¬")
if you’re expecting any moves to be made that’s too bad. he won’t even brush against your shoulder.
however, if you make a move he will initially tense up before relaxing somewhat and beginning to enjoy himself
Jade
“how incredibly bold of you.”
this is all incredibly fascinating to him, human amusement parks, human courting rituals, and of course you’re fascinating as usual.
he’s unsure of what you expect out of this interaction how ever he’ll try his best to live up to your expectations.
he’ll hold your hand, put his arm around your shoulder, allow your head to rest against his shoulder, everything a gentleman would do.
tbh he was a little worried initially when you said you wanted to go on a ride with him but thankfully it wasn’t a thrill ride.
“this is much more fun anyways.”
Floyd
floyd is always up for a new experience: especially with you!
you just pray he doesn’t get bored halfway through and tries to get off
“wowie shrimpy~ you wanna spend time with me alone? can’t promise you’ll come back in one piece.”
he’s joking. (probably) (•᷄- •᷅ ;)
he cannot sit still on the ride
“heyyy why is this thing moving so slow? you said this would be fun. you’re not keeping me entertained at all. you better make it up to me later, kay?”
he’s expecting you to keep him entertained and content so you better not let him down
Kalim
he is beaming from ear to ear
he loves spending time with you!!
and for once jamil isn’t here to tell him ‘leave them alone.’ ‘they have better things to do.’ ‘you can’t take up all their time.’
he so excited he’s physically vibrating while waiting in line
tries to very subtly hold your hand and smiles when you take your hand in his.
he’s very gentlemanly. “it wouldn’t make you uncomfortable if i kissed you, would it?” no matter the answer he’s just happy to be around you
“that was so fun! can we go again? or maybe five more times? please!”
Vil
you think you can casually ask him to go on a romantic ride with him? you’ve got guts, he’ll give you that much
“well… fine. but no pictures. and no telling anyone else about this either. especially rook.”
he looks so refined sitting next to you and under the dimmer light he looks majestic
“i’m not going to kiss you on this.”
HEARTBROKEN ૮(˶ㅠ︿ㅠ)ა
“i’m sure we can find somewhere much more romantic to do that. rather than this gimmicky ride.”
so he didn’t enjoy it… but he still likes you though ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡
Lilia
how fun!! he’s never experienced like this before and he’s glad he can experience it with you.
he takes a couple a pictures so that he can show malleus, silver, and sebek later “they’re going to be so jealous of us.”
he’s ancient so he’s aware of how to be romantic and to how to be a gentleman (only if he wants to be though)
he’s extremely flirtatious, he’ll lean in close only to whisper “you know, you’ve got something in your teeth.”
then in the next moment he will entangle his hand with yours and help you out of the ride. he’ll skip back with you to the rest of the group grinning slyly
Fellow
he was definitely not expecting that.
he personally doesn’t care for the tunnel of love, in fact he thinks it’s a little gross. the last thing he wants to see is couples making out.
but he has to keep up the act of gracious host, doesn’t he?
fine. he’ll smile and bare it. he just knows gidel will never let him live it down though.
well at least you are kinda cute. maybe he won’t hate it entirely.
“my, my! you’d like to ride it with me? i’m honored to spend one on one time with such a prestigious scholar such as yourself.”

YOUR THIGHS, kk is obsessed with them. grabbing one while she drives, rubbing on them while she eats you out, leaving hickies all on them, she can’t get enough.
C • Cum
she prefers cumming in your mouth more than your fingers, thigh, strap or pussy. she loves grabbing on your hair when she’s cumming. same in turn, she loves you cumming in her mouth, dripping all over her face.
D • Dirty secret
okay this isn’t even a secret but kk is so baby. she loves being topped by you, she’s bottom 95% of the time, even when she’s using strap on you, you’ll be riding her and she’s fucking whimper listening to you praise her.
“feels so fuck good baby, you make me feel so good kk.” you moan out, squeezing her tits from above as you ride her strap like no tomorrow. “oh my god kk, i’m gonna cum.” and she’s just a whimpering, moaning, stuttering mess while holding your hips

kks been with her fair share of girls before, she’s had her one nights, serious relationship or two, she knows what she’s doing & even if it’s your first wlw relationship she’s more than willing to help you learn.
F • Favorite position
she’s a ✂️ lover through and through, she likes being on top with this though. she loves watching your smaller body fall apart under her and being able to control the pace.
G • Goofy

I • Intimacy
while she can be serious there’s times where she locks in, whispering how much she loves you & couldn’t imagine her life with out you all while your in between her legs, a face full of pussy. she’s be playing with your hair, legs shaking, eyes slammed up with her head thrown back speaking about you like some type of goddess before crumbling apart to your tongue.
J • Jack off
she gets really shy about it but she does it often during her time away, often asking you for a picture of video when she’s gone.
New Message:
Kk<3; baby i know it’s really late for you but i need something.
you already know what she’s referring too, this falling into your regular schedule when she’s gone, you’re surprised she didn’t text sooner actually.
you; give me one second pooks

“why dont you have your other girlfriend make you cum?” she hovered over your body, three fingers deep in you. “she’s not my girlfriend kk, only you i promise.” it had been at least 30 minutes since you first felt the tightening in your tummy, kks touch was gone as quick as it came. “i don’t know, seemed like it.” she pulled her fingers out, denying your release once again. “kk, please baby.” you whine. “i’ll think about it.” fingers ghosting your clit.
V • volume
she’s so loud, so vocal. she’s not afraid to voice what she wants either which you always appreciated. sometimes when you guys are playing rock paper scissors you find yourself having to cover her mouth because it’s so late and you don’t wanna wake your neighbors.
W • wild card
when you met kk, you guys were one night standing after a sigma kai party but, when you woke up in her bed and tried to sneak out she woke up. offering you a shower, some clothes that weren’t your micro dress and heels and some breakfast in exchange for your number.

Photo booth
Rafe Cameron x Reader
*This story contains: Fluff, kissing, swearing and pet names.*
It was a crisp autumn evening, and the smell of pumpkin filled the air. Rafe had decided he wanted to take you to the fair this afternoon, just to treat you because he felt like it and your his baby.
As you guys walked hand in hand around the fairgrounds you spot a vintage photo booth tucked away in a small corner. The sign above the booth reads, "Love is in the Air." Your eyes sparkled as you tugged on Rafe’s hand while pointing at the booth.
“Hm? What is it baby?” he asks looking down at you before looking towards the way your finger was pointing.
“Can we go take pictures!? They would be cute!” you ask excitedly, hoping he would say yes. Even though you already know the answer. Rafe barely ever says the word no to you. You’re his spoiled little baby.
Rafe smiled, “Yeah baby…whatever you want.” he says in a clam voice. I squeal in excitement. And with that, the two of you step inside the cozy booth. The air was thick with the scent of old cameras and nostalgia. It seemed like something straight out of a movie. As you guys sat down, the soft glow of the booth's lights enveloped your guys presence.
“it smells like shit in here.” Rafe states his nose scrunching up in disgust.
“It just smells old, we’ll be out of here soon, I promise.” You reply back. “I’ll pay for this baby, you paid for everything else.” You say in a soft tone.
“Uh, like hell you are. Do you really think i’m gonna let my girl pay for something? No, let me take care of you princess. I’m rich.” He says while grabbing a 5 dollar bill out of his wallet and putting it in the money slot.
“You’re so annoying.” You say half jokingly.
“You love me.” He teases back. “Come here baby, come sit on my lap.” He says patting his thigh with his large hand.
As you sit on his lap, you get ready to take the first photo. You wrap your arms around his neck and kiss his nose softly, He can’t help but find himself leaning into your touch.
*click*
The camera goes.
“Okay what should we do for the next one?” You giggle
“Just sit on my lap and look pretty, like you always do.” He says in a soft tone, obviously wanting to get this over with because of the smell.
For the second photo you stick your tongue out and hold the side of Rafe’s face.
“Babe I said smile, not stick your tongue out.” He says chuckling slightly. You just giggle back in response.
*click*
The camera goes for the second time.
For the third photo you wrap your arms around his should and look at the camera.
“You’re such a model” He mumbles under his breath and he smiles into the camera.
*click*
You hear for the third time.
“How many more do we have?” You ask him.
“One more I think. I want a kiss for this one.” He says with a goofy smirk on his handsome face. His blue eyes staring into yours.
You giggle and lean in to kiss him passionately.
*click.*
The camera clicked away for the fourth time that evening, capturing the magic of the moment. As you both pull away from each other, you can’t help but stare into his beautiful blue eyes. You’ve always loved Rafe’s eyes, it’s one of your favorite physical features of him. You both notice your expressions softening as you stare at each other.
Your love seemed to grow even stronger in that moment. It was as if the booth had become a tiny, intimate world, where nothing else mattered but the two of you.
As you guys exited the booth, you grab the two strips of paper that had been printed out.
Rafe’s heart skipped a beat as he saw the photos. He always thought you were the most beautiful person to walk the planet. He took your hand his eyes locking on yours. "You’re so beautiful." he whisper.
“So are you.” You whisper back.

Tomorrow’s promise
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x reader
Warnings: Swearing
Chapter: 4.07
The more you got to know the people who saved you, the more you understood why they saved you. Abraham explained that he and Rosita are on a mission to get their companion doctor Eugene Porter to Washington, DC, safely because Eugene knew how to stop the virus and Abraham wanted you to join them. What they were doing was courageous, but you needed to find your family.
You look over at Glenn who was carrying Jace and nod appreciatively. You, him, and Tara were taking turns holding him to try and keep the strain off your shoulder.
The atmosphere is awkward as you walk in almost complete silence. Abraham and Glenn got into a physical fight because Abraham made a comment saying Maggie was most likely already dead, and the noise from the fight attracted a horde of walkers. While five of you fought, the walkers off Eugene tried to help, but the accident ended up shooting the army rank several times, causing it to stop working, which meant the only option now was to travel by foot.
Abraham slows his pace to walk beside you; he nods his head in the direction of Glenn. “He’s a persistent son of a bitch, I get while you’re following him.”
“I’m not following him just to help find Maggie. Our people were more than just someone to survive with; we are a family. My brother, nephew, and Daryl are still out there, along with the rest of our friends. Me and Glenn can’t stop looking for them.”
“Do you really think you’ll find them?”
You don’t answer his question. The last few days have been hectic, and you couldn’t allow yourself to think that you won’t ever find them.
Abraham changes the subject. “I didn’t have you down as a hunter, but damn those squirrels you caught last night went down a treat. Your father taught you to hunt?”
A small smile pulls on your lips. You found hunting extremely difficult morally, but when Daryl had his arms wrapped around you to show you what to do... It was the safest you’ve felt in a king town. “No, Daryl taught me to hunt skin and gut animals, so you can thank him when we find him. I used to be vegan before the world went to shit.”
He laughs, “Well, those days are long now.”
Abraham was right; you ate whatever was possible now.
You make polite small talk and learn more about the mission until Tara starts laughing. “I can’t believe I still have this,” she pulls a wallet out of her jacket pocket. She chuckles to herself while opening it up, “Three dollars and an expired voucher for grocery shopping.”
“Never know, it could go up on a museum wall one day.”
Her smile fades when she pulls a Polaroid photo out of one of the slips. Tara goes to say something, but her breathing becomes shaky. “I never saw her after... I kept thinking she might have ended up like my sister, or she’s alone and hurt, or…”
Glenn gives her a sympathetic look. “Who is she?”
“My girlfriend Alisha... I think I saw her body at the prison, but the more I think about it, the more I’m unsure if it was her.”
You understood how awful not knowing where everyone was felt. With the attention of somehow trying to comfort her, you walk closer but come to an abrupt halt when you see the picture she’s holding. You feel warm, a painful knot forming in your stomach. Tara’s girlfriend was the woman who put Hershel on his knees; she was the woman you shot and killed at the prison.
—
When night falls, you take turns keeping watch, and right now it was currently your turn. Abraham picked a spot that was surrounded by thick trees and bushes, keeping you out of view of anyone who may walk by the train tracks. You had bundled Jace up in a T-shirt and your jacket to keep him warm. Your back was pressed against a tree so you could securely place him between your legs.
You let out a deep sigh. Rosita, Eugene, and Abraham had all fallen asleep while Tara and Glenn spoke quietly. Finding the picture earlier had really upset the brunette, and you felt so guilty that she was continuing to torture herself by imagining all the different things that could have happened to Alisha. If it was someone you cared about, you’d want to know the truth.
“Tara, I need to tell you something. I... I, Alisha, she's gone. She’s dead.”
The look in her eyes, she knew. She knew it was you before you'd even told her. “How would you know that?”
“I killed her.”
Tara blinks away her tears, then shoots you a death glare. “You killed my girlfriend?”
“I didn’t know who she was, not until I saw the photo earlier.”
“So you just killed someone and didn’t think about them again?” Tara scoffs; she shakes her head and looks away from you. “Why are you telling me this?”
“Hershel was a good man. He was a stranger who saved my nephew's life. He let us into his home. Your girlfriend dragged Hershel, an old man with one fucking leg, from the back of a car and forced him to kneel on the ground to be slaughtered by that sociopath in front of his own daughters!” Your vision becomes blurry with tears. “When I came face to face with her, I didn’t think twice about killing her, and no, I didn’t think about her again, not until I knew who she was. I’ve only told you so that you wouldn’t spend the rest of your life wondering what happened to her.”
She takes a moment to process everything you’ve just said. “If you could, would you have done things differently?”
“I found my baby alive next to the body of a boy who had been shot in the chest. Some asshole who attacked us in our own home put a goddamn bullet in a child and then continued to attack my people.” Using the sleeve of your jacket, you wipe at your eyes and nose. “I don’t know who killed him, but I don’t regret doing everything I could to stop my son from being one of those kids.”
Silence falls over the camp; nobody dares say anything. Tara walks off, and Glenn follows her. Feeling eyes on you, you turn your head to see Rosita, Abraham, and Eugene staring at you.
—
The next morning, everyone remains quiet as a mouse as you continue to follow the trail tracks. The only real noise was Jace babbling while you tried to get him to say mom or mommy. You decided it was best if you hanged back from the others, just close enough that you wouldn’t fall behind.
Glenn looks and observes you for a moment before slowing his pace to match yours. “Can I ask you something? It’s about Jace.”
“Sure.”
“Did Hershel ever check his ears out?”
“He did," you didn’t like thinking about it. “Hershel thought Jace’s eardrums got damaged from being exposed to so many gunshots and explosions when he was first born, but it’s hard to know for sure. He thinks his right side is more damaged than the left.”
Glenn’s brows pull together with confusion. “How’s that possible?”
“Maybe a gun went off on his right side... I should have done more to—“
“Don’t,” Glenn cuts you off. “Everything you do is for him.”
—
You can’t help but smile proudly at Jace; hearing him say mom filled your heart with so much warmth. You kiss his cheeks multiple times and say, “I’m so proud of you, little man.”
Daryl and Rick would be so proud.
You look from Jace to see what was in front of you, and you gasp in surprise. There was a wooden post with a map pinned to it, leading the way to a location called Terminus.
“Holy shit,” the map had a message written on mud left on it. “Glenn, Glenn. It’s a message from Maggie. Her, Bob and Sasha are alive.”
“Oh my god!” He comes up to look for himself and notices you are crying; he kisses you on the cheek. “If they are alive, then so will the rest of our people.”
Tears of happiness brim in your eyes; all you needed to do now was make it to Terminus.

1x09 Coda
(on ao3 but locked for users)
Josh hesitated before he pressed call. He’d received confirmation that the phone had been delivered to Oliver but he hadn’t heard from the man since. Josh was hoping it was just because he didn’t know what to do with the thing and not that he was mad that Josh had sent it.
He shouldn’t have worried. The smile was audible in Oliver’s voice when he answered. “Hi, I was hoping you’d call.”
Josh smiled reflexively. “Well, now that I can actually get a hold of you, how could I not?”
Oliver laughed. “The phone tag was getting a little old,” he agreed. “It’s good to hear your voice. How-how’s the conference?”
“Terrible,” Josh chuckled. “I, uh, I miss the hospital.” Truthfully, he’d been looking forward to the conference. It was a good chance to connect with his peers and discuss new techniques as well as just a good time, usually. But when he’d agreed to go, he hadn’t anticipated starting something with Oliver just weeks beforehand.
Oliver coughed awkwardly and Josh could just picture the blush rising on his cheeks. “You’ve been missed at the hospital.”
Josh smiled and leaned his head back against the headrest. “What have you been up to? How’s your patient? The painter?”
“He’s good!” Oliver effused. “I’m actually at his gallery right now, he’s having a showing of the new paintings he’s been working on. They’re brilliant. He-” he huffed lightly, “apparently he painted me actually. I’m not sure I understand it but the interns seemed to be enjoying it last I saw them.”
“Oh?” Josh was intrigued. “You should send me a photo of it.” There was a long pause on the other end and Josh grinned. “Have one of the interns show you how.”
“Why does a phone need to be a camera too?” Oliver complained lightly. “Is it not enough that it makes calls and sends texts?”
“Oh does it send texts?” Josh questioned. “I assumed that feature must be broken since I haven’t heard from you.”
There was another suspicious pause. “Is this a good time to admit that I have literally never used a cell phone?”
Josh barked out a laugh. “I guess I’ll just have to show you how.”
“I could probably use a few lessons,” Oliver agreed. “How much longer is your conference for?”
“Ended an hour ago. I’m on my way back to the city right now.”
“Oh? Are you heading straight home? I’m sure you’re tired.”
Josh smirked. “Actually I was calling to see if you were home tonight but I understand you’re busy with the showing.”
“It won’t last too much longer, I don’t think. I’ll probably leave here in the next half hour or so. Be home in about an hour from now.”
Josh glanced down at his gps. “I’m a little over an hour from your place.” Yes, he’d put Oliver’s address in instead of his own. Sue him.
“Meet you there.”
—
Oliver had only just walked in the house and was starting to take off his jacket when there was a knock on the door. He tugged the jacket back up and spun on his heel. Two steps had him at the front door and he yanked it open to reveal Josh.
“Hi,” he breathed.
Josh smiled and stepped inside, kicking the door shut behind him. “Hi.” He slid his hands around Oliver’s waist and kissed him. He started to pull back after a brief moment, likely intending it to be a simple peck hello, but Oliver looped his hands around his neck and held him in place. He let him go only after a much longer kiss.
“Hi,” he said again, smiling.
“How was the showing?”
“It was great. My patient is doing so well. He’ll never regain his color vision but the way he’s adapting and the new art he’s produced in just the last few weeks is incredible. Oh!” He let go of Josh to dig his hand in his pocket and pull out his phone. “Van took a photo of the painting for me.” He stared at the dark screen for a moment before just handing it to Josh who took it with a wide grin. “You can text it to yourself.”
Josh laughed. “How about I show you how it’s done?” Slowly, Josh unlocked the phone and found the photo Van had taken and sent it to himself, narrating his actions as he went. Oliver dutifully paid attention as he worked even if his attention strayed more than once to focus on Josh’s hands. The phone that had looked large in Oliver’s own grip almost looked small in Josh’s. When he was finished, Josh handed the phone back. “And now you know how to send me photos. Anytime you want.” His lips quirked up in a smirk and Josh raised his eyebrows.
“What kinds of photos are you expecting me to send Dr. Nichols?”
Josh shrugged innocently. “Whatever you want. Whenever you want.”
“Uh huh,” Oliver nodded slowly, glancing around him. “And if I wanted to send you a picture of my fern?”
“I’d love to see it,” he accepted readily. “Honestly, I would just love to hear from you. Hear what’s on your mind.”
That was good, especially since Oliver didn’t particularly enjoy photos of himself. The mirror was hard enough sometimes.
He dropped the phone back into his jacket pocket, happy to let that topic of conversation go for now. “Did you stop on the way here?” He asked. “Are you hungry? Can I get you something to eat?”
Josh’s eyes raked over him slowly. “I could eat.” His hands found their way back to Oliver’s waist, this time sliding up and inside his jacket. Oliver already knew from past experience that if he wasn’t careful his jacket was about to end up on the floor. Rather than let it suffer that indignity he slipped it off his shoulders and hung it up on its hook by the door, all without leaving Josh’s grasp.
“Anything in particular you’re in the mood for?” He let his own gaze rove over Josh’s form.
“Mhmm,” Josh hummed in answer, slowly pushing Oliver backwards towards the stairs. “Food later, though.”
Oliver could hardly argue with that.

Apple of My Eye Chapter Six
Harry Hook x Child of Snow White! Reader
Chapter Six: I'm Wishing
Summary: (Y/N) wants to find their love, and other loves are on the rocks.
A few months later…
“So, for Cotillion, I’m thinking…dramatic,” said Evie, looking at (Y/N). She hummed as she circled (Y/N) on the pedestal. “Yes. Red instead of mostly blue, switch things up. Gold detailing…Yes. An elegant look with a bit of drama. What do you think?”
“I think you always have the best concepts,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“I need something that screams, ‘I’m here, look at me,’ ” said Evie dramatically.
“You’re outdoing yourself for Cotillion,” said (Y/N), chuckling.
Evie smiled. “Business has been good since the Coronation, but this is my biggest event so far. My designs have to be impeccable.”
“And they will be,” said (Y/N). “You’re an amazing designer.”
“And you’re an amazing consultant. I wouldn’t have half the contracts I did if you didn’t get so many royals and nobles in other kingdoms to request my work.” Evie smirked. “Competition for me means they raise the price without me having to.”
“If they have the money to throw around, take it,” teased (Y/N).
Evie had created an amazing design business, and with the connections Doug and (Y/N) had, they had been able to help her grow. Now, she had a line of customers out for weeks of events and a steady flow of income. Cotillion was the next grand event and the largest since Coronation since Mal would be announced to be an official Lady of the Court. Due to the increase in demand for outfits, (Y/N) was lucky to get in with Evie before she ran out of appointments (and time). However, they were her friend, so that gave them a helpful in.
“But you get a discount,” said Evie.
“Evie, I am happy to pay you—”
“Nope,” said Evie. “Best friends do each other favors. I give you clothes, you look fabulous and show them off for me.”
“You have Mal for that, too,” said (Y/N), grinning.
“You two have different styles,” said Evie. She paused. “And I suppose I could use Doug, but he just doesn’t have your charisma.”
(Y/N) giggled at the picture in their head. Doug would do anything for his girlfriend and had been her model hundreds of times by now, but it was true that they and Mal modelled a bit better than he did due to their confidence and attitude. (Doug pouted when Evie told him, but she gave him a kiss and he recovered well enough). When Doug had been a model, he had quickly decided all the eyes on him weren’t his thing. He just needed Evie to look at him with love—and she sure did.
Evie held up swatches to (Y/N) and looked in the mirror, humming as she decided on the color and precise fabric. “I have your measurements already, and I have patterns, so I will have the fitting ready in a few days.”
“You’re so dependable,” said (Y/N).
Evie let out an exhausted sigh. “I try.” She stepped back, made a few notes in her sketchbook, and let (Y/N) step down from the podium.
Doug opened the door to the studio where Evie set up shop. “Evie, you ready for lunch?”
Evie brightened as she closed her sketchbook. “I am.” She glanced at (Y/N). “I’ll see you later for dinner?”
“Of course. Have fun on your date~” (Y/N) waved playfully as Evie and Doug took each other’s hands and walked out of the room.
(Y/N) left after them, locking the studio with their copy of the key. They walked out of Auradon Prep onto the grounds, smiling as they passed Mal and Ben. They waved, and the pair waved back from where they were escaping paparazzi and going to another diplomatic luncheon. Poor Mal gave a tired smile and held Ben’s hand tightly. (Y/N) smiled as they watched. At least Mal and her friends and Ben to support her through the change from VK to almost Lady of the Court. It wasn’t easy. And love made things easier.
“(Y/N),” said Carlos, running up to (Y/N). “Can I have some help?”
Speaking of love. “With Jane?” said (Y/N) knowingly.
Carlos turned pink. “Is it that obvious?”
“To everyone except you two,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“I want to ask her to Cotillion,” said Carlos. “But I don’t know how.”
“Be direct,” said (Y/N). “Jane is as oblivious as you are—”
“Hey.”
“—so you need to say what you mean outright,” said (Y/N). They laughed. “She’s also so busy right now that she has barely any bandwidth to think of subtext. Make sure she knows what you mean.”
“But what if she rejects me?” said Carlos.
“Then she does. But would you rather be true to your heart or not?” said (Y/N).
“…I want to be true,” said Carlos.
“Good,” said (Y/N). They smirked. “Besides, I think she’ll say yes.”
Carlos’s smile widened. “You think so?”
“Yeah,” said (Y/N).
“Thanks, (Y/N),” said Carlos, grinning.
“No problem,” said (Y/N). They were there to help. They wanted their friends to find love. Love was an incredible thing. Everyone deserved to experience it
l
“Do you like it?” said Evie, pinning the skirts of the dress.
“I love it,” said (Y/N), smiling at the dress in the mirror. Evie hadn’t finished the detailing or tailoring quite yet, but the basis and major work was finished. (Y/N) was ecstatic. “It’s beautiful, Evie.”
“You’re the beautiful one,” said Evie, smiling. She grinned in the mirror. “Now, what I want to know is…has anyone asked you to Cotillion?”
“No,” laughed (Y/N), shaking their head.
“Hm, have you asked anyone?” asked Evie.
“Still a no, Evie,” said (Y/N). “I’d tell you if there was someone I was interested in.”
Evie tutted. “I hope so, it’s my duty as your best friend to know these things.”
(Y/N) chuckled, but their smile felt a little heavier. “I still haven’t felt a spark with anyone, Evie. I don’t know.”
“Hey.” Evie put her hands on (Y/N)’s shoulders. “There are people outside of Auradon Prep. Not everyone in the kingdom comes here for school. You’ll meet someone eventually. If anyone is going to find True Love, it’s you.” She smiled.
“I hope so,” said (Y/N), smiling.
“And until then, you have us, your friends, and your parents, your family,” said Evie. She hugged her friend. “And we love you, too.”
(Y/N) laughed and hugged Evie back. “I know.”
l
(Y/N) walked through the grounds of Auradon Prep, humming as they went. They didn’t really care where they were going; they just wanted to think. They knew they didn’t need love. They were fortunate enough to have a good life, good friends, good family, everything.
However, (Y/N) wanted to find True Love. They watched their friends begin to find it, and (Y/N) wanted to feel that lightness, that warmth in their heart that their parents had always told them about.
(Y/N) entered a clearing in the woods and gazed at the well sitting in the middle of it. They smiled slightly and walked to it. They sat down on the edge and gazed down. Their reflection peered back up at them, and they hummed.
They remembered some old, playful advice their mother gave them. An older superstition—
(Y/N) “Make a wish into the wall, That’s all you have to do, And if you hear it echoing, Your wish will soon come true.”
(Y/N) leaned over the well. With the sun shining down on them, they really fit the fairytale aesthetic in their red skirt, white blouse, and blue corset top. A yellow bow held their hair back. (Y/N) hummed and began their song.
(Y/N) “I’m wishing.” (Echo) “I’m wishing.” (Y/N) “For the one I love, To find me.” (Echo) “To find me.” (Y/N) “Today.” (Echo) “Today.”
(Y/N) sighed and leaned back, looking up at the sky.
(Y/N) “I’m hoping.” (Echo) “I’m hoping.” (Y/N) “And I’m dreaming of, The fun things.” (Echo) “The fun things.” (Y/N) “They’ll say.” (Echo) “They’ll say.”
(Y/N) hopped off the side of the well and danced around it, singing the whole time.
(Y/N) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” (Echo) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” (Y/N) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” (Echo) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” (Y/N) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” (Echo) “Ha ha ha ha ha.” ((Y/N) and Echo) “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.”
(Y/N) stopped, leaning out over the well.
(Y/N) “I’m wishing.” (Echo) “I’m wishing.” (Y/N) “For the one I love, To find me.” (Echo) “To find me.” (Y/N) “Today.” (Echo) “Today.”
The echo hovered in the air, and (Y/N) sighed as it petered out.
“I’m wishing…” To find love.
l
“(Y/N)!” Evie burst through their dorm door, and (Y/N) was glad Lizzie was out studying so she wouldn’t get freaked out. “Mal went back to the Isle.”
“What?!” (Y/N) stood from their bed in alarm.
Evie covered her mouth, nearly crying. “She’s gone.” She held up a letter and a familiar ring. “I don’t know what to do—I can’t believe she left—Why would she…?”
“Hey, hey.” (Y/N) took Evie’s hands. “Let’s talk to the others, to Ben. We can figure out what to do. We can find out if Mal is alright, if she needs help, if this was a mistake, everything. Okay? We’ll help her, Evie. Together.”
Evie let out a shaky breath. “Okay. Alright.”
l
Glancing up from his deskwork, Ben smiled. “Evie, (Y/N).” He was glad that after such a stressful day he could see at least a few friendly faces. “Come on in.” His face fell as he saw their expressions.
(Y/N) closed the door tightly as Evie stepped forward.
“Mal’s gone back to the Isle,” said Evie. Ben’s eyes widened. She held out the letter, and Ben took it. “Ben…” She held out the ring.
Ben’s voice quivered as he took it and read the letter. “ ‘I am so sorry…’ ” He crumbled it in his hand. “This is my fault,” he said. “This is my fault! I blew it. She’s been under so much pressure lately, and instead of being understanding, I just went all beast on her.” He straightened. “I have to go there and apologize. I have to go there and beg her to come back.”
“You’ll never find her,” said Evie.
“We have to try,” said (Y/N). “She deserves to know that we’re all here to help her if she comes back.” None of them had helped her like they should have. No one had seen just how badly she was coping with the pressure and how much she needed support. (Y/N) owed it to their friend to help her.
“But you need to know the Isle and how it works, and—I have to go with you,” realized Evie.
“Yes!” Ben paused. “I mean…Are you sure?”
“Yeah.” Evie nodded firmly, bravely. “She’s my best friend. And we’ll bring the boys, too. There’s safety in numbers, and none of us are really too popular over there right now.”
“Thank you,” said Ben.
“But let’s get one thing straight,” said Evie. “You have to promise me that I won’t get stuck there again.”
“Never,” said (Y/N). “We’d never leave you behind.”
“I promise,” said Ben.
“Alright,” said Evie, nodding.
“And let’s get another thing straight,” said (Y/N). Ben and Evie looked at them. “I’m coming, too.”
“What—No,” said Ben.
“Mal’s my friend, too,” said (Y/N).
“Okay,” said Evie. She smirked. “But neither of you are going dressed like that.”

The Elegance of Jealousy- Vinicius jr
Wearning: idea not mine, inspired by a story I read.
The tension in the car was palpable. Your hands were tightly gripping the bag on your lap as you stubbornly stared out the window. Vinicius, behind the wheel, nervously drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, alternating glances between the road and you.
"Are you really going to keep this up?" he blurted out, breaking the silence with an irritated tone. "This is ridiculous. Why don’t we just talk about it?"
You didn’t turn, keeping your gaze fixed outside. "There’s nothing to talk about."
Vinicius sighed heavily, pulling over abruptly to the side of the road. He turned off the engine and looked at you, his dark eyes full of frustration. "You’re still upset about those pictures, aren’t you? Still? I’ve already told you—it was just work!"
"Just work," you repeated sarcastically, finally turning to face him. "Then explain to me why you had to laugh and joke with her like you were old friends. And why did you have to put your hands on her hips?"
Vinicius threw his hands up in exasperation. "It was part of the shoot! It meant nothing, nada. You’re being childish to think it was anything more."
Those words hit you like a low blow. You felt the heat of anger rising to your face. "Childish? You’re the one who doesn’t respect boundaries! Do you know how much it hurt to see those videos, and you don’t even care."
"There’s nothing to be hurt about!" he shouted, raising his voice. "I’m yours, not hers. Can’t you see how stupid this whole thing is?"
You didn’t answer. You couldn’t. The pain was too strong to come up with a response that wasn’t filled with anger. He started the car again, the silence now heavy with tension. But you’d made up your mind—if he didn’t understand how you felt, you’d play his game.
---
The dinner was at an elegant restaurant with dim lighting and an intimate atmosphere. Jude and Kylian were already seated when you and Vinicius arrived. As soon as you walked in, you masked your anger with a sweet smile. You took a seat next to Jude, leaving Vinicius across the table.
"You look stunning tonight," Jude said with a sincere smile, looking at you with admiration.
"Thank you," you replied with a touch of flirtation, tilting your head slightly. "You’re looking impeccable as always."
Vinicius visibly stiffened from across the table but said nothing, taking a sip of his water instead.
Throughout the dinner, you played your cards well. Every time Jude said something funny, you laughed a little too loudly, resting your hand on his arm in a gesture that seemed innocent but was full of intention.
"So, Jude," you began in a sweet tone, "have you ever thought about doing sponsorship photoshoots? You know, you’ve got a physique that could drive people crazy."
Jude laughed, slightly embarrassed but clearly flattered. "Maybe I should consider it. Any tips for me?"
Vinicius dropped his fork onto his plate with a loud clatter. "Jude’s a footballer, not a model," he said in a tone too sharp to be casual.
Jude raised his hands, trying to defuse the tension. "Relax, Vini. It’s just a compliment."
But you didn’t let it slide. "Oh, but Jude would do so well. Not everyone can pull off that kind of charisma in front of a camera."
Vinicius shot you a fiery look, but you just smiled innocently. The dinner continued, but Vinicius remained strangely quiet, his jaw tightening every time he noticed one of your gestures toward Jude.
---
As soon as you got back into the car, the silence was even heavier. Vinicius sped off, his hands gripping the wheel tightly. After a few minutes, he abruptly pulled over again and turned to you, his gaze full of anger.
"What the hell was that?" he yelled. "You were flirting with Jude right in front of me!"
You raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "Oh, so now you can touch a model’s hips, but I can’t be nice to one of your friends?"
"It’s not the same thing, and you know it!" he snapped, his voice full of frustration. "I never had any intentions with that model, but you… you were doing it on purpose to drive me crazy!"
Finally, you turned to him, the anger that had been simmering beneath the surface finally boiling over. "Yes, I did it on purpose! Because I wanted you to feel what I felt. And you know what? It worked."
Vinicius stared at you, his breathing heavy, his eyes searching yours in a mix of anger and regret. After a moment, he lowered his gaze, running a hand through his hair. "I’m sorry," he said quietly. "I didn’t mean to make you feel that way. But you need to understand—she means nothing to me. You’re the only one."
You sighed, lowering your gaze. "I don’t want to be jealous, Vini. But when you do things like that, you make me feel insecure. And I hate feeling like that."
Vinicius reached out, taking your hand gently. "I promise it won’t happen again. But please, don’t ever make me see something like tonight again. I don’t know if I could handle it."
You looked at him, unsure whether to give in or not. But in his eyes, you saw sincerity. You nodded slowly, squeezing his hand. "Okay. But next time, listen to me, Vini. Because otherwise…"
He interrupted you with a faint smile. "There won’t be a next time. I promise."
You let out a small smile, still slightly upset but more willing to let the matter go. You look into his eyes—those dark eyes that always know how to soften your heart, even when you're furious with him.
"Alright," you whisper softly, leaning toward him. "But I really want you to understand how I felt."
Vinicius nods, his gaze softened by a hint of remorse. "I understand, *amor*. I never want to make you feel like that again. There's no reason for it. You're everything to me."
You can’t resist any longer. You lean closer and kiss him softly, letting the warmth of the moment wash away every trace of tension left between you. His lips respond immediately, warm and tender, as if he wants to convey through that kiss all the words he hadn’t managed to say.
His hands gently move to your face, holding you close as the kiss deepens slightly, but without haste. It was a moment of reconciliation, and you could feel it.
When you pull back, your faces are still close, and he looks at you with a faint smile. "I love you, you know?"
"I know," you reply in a lighter tone, brushing your hand against his cheek. "I love you too, but if you ever do something like that again…"
Vinicius chuckles softly, letting the tension dissolve completely. "Yeah, yeah, I got it. No more photos with models, I promise."
"It’s not that you can’t take them," you counter with a mischievous smile. "But at least keep your hands where they belong and save the smiles for me."
He shakes his head, amused, restarting the engine. "Deal. Now let’s make up for lost time."
You smile, leaning back against the seat, finally at peace. As the car starts moving again, you feel Vinicius’s hand reach for yours, intertwining your fingers. You couldn’t help but think that, despite everything, he was worth every fight, every jealous moment, every second.

Blame it on my DNA
808 coda; Eddie tells Chris about his plan to move to El Paso. It does not go well. Buck is forced into the narrative about it. Ao3
“Hey, Bud. You got a minute?”
“Uh-uh.”
Chris’ room is dark. He keeps the curtains drawn tight and the blinds down most of the time. It’s three in the afternoon in El Paso, Eddie knows there should be sun streaming through, bathing the beddings and showing him what his son has up on his walls, if he left his shoes all over the place, if the bed is made.
It must be, though. His mother always used to make them during breakfast. She would serve them and disappear, lighting fast as she drew up covers and fixed pillows before they could be done.
Eddie used to go back to his room before leaving for school and find the bed made, like magic.
He’s sure Helena does Chris’ bed, too. Must take her time with it since she doesn’t have three kids at once anymore, too.
“How was the chess tournament?” he asks, coward.
Chris rolls his eyes, one hand picking at the lint on his pants. “It was fine. I got third place.”
A smile breaks out on Eddie’s face. Lips turning up and up, hurting his cheek. He’s so proud. “No way! That’s amazing, Chris.”
“It’s third place, Dad,” he says, deadpanned. Something in Eddie breaks. “Nothing to write home about.”
He settles more firmly against the chair. This time, he’s chosen to take the call from the kitchen. Barren, most of his utensils are already in boxes to be shipped out to some storage room until he can make peace with either selling or taking them with him when he moves.
“Hey. Everything you do is something to write home about. You got some kinda trophy I can bust about at the station?”
Bashful, Chris bends out of frame. The room is so dark; how Eddie worries. He comes up after shuffling around somewhere with a framed letter of participation, declaring him third best in the school chess championship. There is a little brown ribbon printed on the picture.
“Just this,” Chris says, shy and low. It comes out so thin, Eddie barely hears.
“That’s great. I’m really proud of you, Bud. I mean it,” he says, because Eddie thinks he should hear it.
“Grandpa says we can practice more and I can try the tournament week after next, just not in school. There is like this social center thing… it’s for charity or something.” It’s been months since he heard his kid say so many words at once. Eddie feels choked up about it, just a little.
He clears his throat before he speaks again. In for a penny. “What if… what if I was there, to cheer on you? Would you like that?”
Chris sits straight in his chair, his head is lopsided but his eyes shine behind his glasses - bright, bright, bright blue. “I guess.” He takes the longest pause in Eddie’s life. “It would be cool.”
“Good.” It propels him forward, an asteroid ready to crash and burn. “Because I’m coming to El Paso in a few weeks.”
“Like, for holiday? Buck didn’t say you have time off.”
“No, no. Not for holiday, uhm…” He wets his lips, swallows around the nerves that have balled in his throat, picks at the linen in his gym shorts, a mirror of Chris. “For… ever? I’m- I’m moving back to Texas, Chris. Saw a new house and everything. We can go check it out together, if you want.”
Chris pales, the blue of the screen casts him in a weirdly off-putting light.
“Not. Not that I’m gonna make you come live with me. I mean, you can do whatever you want, but if you do want to live with your grandparents, I want to be there. For you. I’m not missing the big moments anymore.”
Eddie gets to the end of his little speech, Chris’ chest is heaving. He reaches for the tablet like it will allow him to reach through the screen and touch, comfort, reassure.
This is exactly why he needs to go back to Texas.
“What… what about the house? You can’t just sell it.”
Eddie opens his mouth to speak, but Chris is on a spiral. He looks somewhere to the left of the screen, barely catching his breath. “What about your job? Does Captain Nash know? Did you tell Buck?”
Nodding, Eddie replies, his voice a bit higher, a bit firmer, “I did. It’s all taken care of, you don’t need to worry about it, that’s my job.”
“You never do things for me. Just for you,” Chris spats, vitriol and anger right on the center of the keyboard. “You’re always thinking about yourself first.”
And that - that can’t be further from the truth. He needs to know, Eddie needs to tell him. And why is the screen suddenly so blurry? Why is his chest aching? Did someone shoot him again? Right there, in his kitchen?
“That’s not true Christopher. You know that’s not true. I’m…”
Chris interrupts him. “First you leave Mom behind, then you send me away, and now I don’t get to come back home?” He’s yelling now, full-body spasms, his arms shaking. That much stress cannot be good for him. “You promised. You promised.”
“Chris.”
“I don’t wanna talk to you anymore.” The connection shuts. There is only a black screen and the image of Eddie’s red eyes and snotty face.
He clicks to the right, just below Christopher’s name on his contact history. The tablet rings for about three seconds before the call gets picked up and Buck’s face lights up the screen. He’s at home, on his couch, relaxed in the gray hoodie he keeps for nothing-days.
If he notices how rattled Eddie is, he doesn’t show it.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“I think I screwed up, Buck.”
The expression on his best friend’s face changes, he gets that frown he has when they talk about something big, shifting forward in his seat. “Tell me about it.”

things ram and devi have done and said without even saying they’re in love / being in a relationship because they drive me insane:
Ram defied orders from the LITERAL goddess because he didn’t want Devi to die, thus ignoring his duties
-> like …. he willingly let another woman DIE in Devi’s place and !!!! this act had been committed five years ago, when the affection between the two had BARELY begun blossoming
-> “Why bother when the goddess herself allows you to decide people’s fate?” had been Devi’s question to him, but little did she know, he already defied every rule for her, going against literal fate
he saved Devi during the arson, putting her before his own BROTHER
he went after Devi when she took off on an horse during the attack, and carried her in his arms back to safety (which he realllyy didn’t have to do 🤭)
it’s revealed he would purposefully change his route to catch a glimpse of Devi
-> Ram’s wishful desire was to see her at every service; just hoping to catch her smile along the hallowed halls where once they met
he “noticed an unfamiliar feeling rising inside him” when he met her again
Ram always found an excuse to touch Deviya — holding her hand to lead her somewhere, brushing his fingers over her cheek to calm her, cupping her face, putting a hand on her waist, trapping her against the wall, his finger on her lips, holding her hands tighter as if it could heal her holding her waist as she straddled him
he said he “missed her smiling at him”
he kissed her neck (quite literally marking her) while thinking of how De Clare would react, not realizing the jealousy that was growing in his heart at the thought of losing her to him
-> which he then said (in season 2) he’d do it on her wedding day too !!
-> in the same episode he tried to pretend he doesn’t care about their engagement 💀, mission failed my dude 🤭
“That. The way he felt when she was near him. The reason he always looked for her in the crowd and couldn’t stop teasing her”
ram always thought of marriage as a transaction, a duty to be fulfilled, something he simply had to do. and love? love wasn’t a necessary equation. that’s what his family line looked like — alliances, partnership, all devoid of tenderness. but Deviya awakened something in Ram — and for the first time, he was confused and lost
“It’s ironic that even with all the knowledge and wisdom of the world at my disposal, I still can’t figure this out on my own. I’m almost thirty, and for all of my life I have denied myself what I wanted because the greater good was more important. And in all this time… no one has ever been able to enchant me as much as…”
Ram talked Devi through her anger at the reception so she wouldn’t make a mistake in front of her guests and lose the position she had so long worked for (he helps her see the bigger picture)
Ram told her their connection wasn’t for nothing. they were fated for a reason
the less often he saw her, the more he wanted to see her
-> and if she didn’t came, he would wait for her
he noticed everything she did — be it the way she shifted from foot to foot when she was nervous or how she looked at him in fear (from the subtlest of things to the most obvious, he noticed it always)
he teased her about how much she liked him but then said:
“such a rakhasi cannot possibly die. I need her”
admitting, even if it was meant as a tease, that he could no longer exist in a world in which her presence didn’t fill his heart’s pages
he comforted her on the day of her death, quickly realizing that:
“/ wish this had happened to me instead... hasn't she been dealt enough pain already, in her life?”
“when Ram realized how sincere his desire to take all Deviya's troubles for himself was, it quickly became clear that their secret relationship had taken on a new meaning … growing into something profound”.
what started as a perhaps meaningless, fleeting, teasing affair quickly turned into something more — something he couldn’t put a name to, but he could feel encompassing his body every single second
he could no longer pretend it was just for fun or a distraction
so he finally mustered up the courage to ask Devi to be with him (but not officially 😔) even if it was in secret — for he would rather have her in secret, than lose her be it to death or another man.
noticing how distressed she was, he closed his eyes and then slowly began kissing her fingers. Devi noticed that his eyelashes were trembling. “he’s nervous as well, but once again he tries to reassure me first, even though he could use some support himself."
he always put her before himself, over and over again. this isn’t something he was taught, like I mentioned before. for him, marriage or love was based on children, mutual respect and the husband’s views. yet he interminably put himself in the background, just to help Devi shine
“they kissed each other gently and yet desperately at the same time, as only doomed lovers can kiss.”
“he was with her right at that moment. sharing her pain and fear... would that have been possible if what they had was fleeting? he always chose her, no matter what.”
Ram: “I'll be with you. no matter what.” Devi: “I know”
he fought for her, allowing her to escape
and her thoughts led to him, even as she bled out
“the very thought of losing him was unbearable. and just as things were beginning to blossom between them.” “dying would be a little easier if you were holding my hand right now”
"I'm with him in my thoughts, heart, and soul." // "even if it doesn't make any real sense, it does for me. l feel calmer this way."
being away from her, when she was in a coma, made Ram feel like he was dying too // the thought of losing him (as she actively died) felt even worse than death
-> his biggest dream was being able to touch her again, to gaze into her eyes, to see his affection being mirrored in hers. to hear her laughter again was all he could hope for
they risked MULTIPLE times to be caught just to bask in each other’s presence — even if it was only for a few moments because the risk was worth it — they are worth it to each other
his face “instantly lost colour” when she mentioned her wedding
he tried pretending it didn’t hurt him — that he could accept it, that he could have a part of her and let it be enough, but they both knew the truth
so she laid out her future: her married to De Clare, visiting India from time to time, meeting Ram’s wife — but not him because he would still remain a coward who couldn’t voice what he wanted
so he finally let his feelings free and kissed her, marking her neck (in the middle of the hall where everyone could’ve caught them)
he touched her under the table — at dinner, where again, anyone could’ve seen them !!!
the moment Devi’s smile faded, Ram noticed immediately and shifted his tone, asking softly, “is something wrong?” -> he is SO attuned to her emotions, so skilled at noticing even the slightest change — which is especially important since Ram isn’t portrayed as someone who does this for just anyone
they know each other well enough to play off each other’s words without malice — their banter is so much fun (especially on passion route)
he fingers her in the library 🤭 he’s SO careful with her even though it’s obvious they’re both overwhelmed by the connection — he’s letting her set the pace and the fact that Ram doesn't push, but instead allows her to slowly move at her own pace, amplifies her vulnerability and makes her every move feel more significant. she’s still confused on what she wants and he lets her explore it on her own, and she knows he will wait for her
he wanted to dance with her despite not knowing how to — and in front of everyone too !! he was ready to embarrass himself for her
-> he is so caught up in her that he’s willing to push past his own comfort zone, even if it means embarrassing himself a little; as long as he can witness her smile
now she is the one who takes the power and kisses him, marking HIS neck — and so they imagine each other naked, finally taking the next step and ….
he finally admits it to himself.
He wanted to finally understand what it meant to connect with the woman he loved with all his heart.
Ram Doobay is in love with Deviya Sharma.

11:12 AM, new apartment building.
okay, so maybe you had overestimated yourself.
when you told rin you didn’t need help carrying your stuff up to the new apartment, you had been under the impression that kitchen utensils wouldn’t weigh that much when they were all put in the same box. but now, as you’re standing outside the building, hands on your hips, staring down at the pile of spilled kitchen utensils, you fear you might have overestimated yourself.
you gnaw on your bottom lip anxiously, glancing around quickly to make sure nobody is around to see your embarrassing mishap. you’re actually quite surprised to see absolutely nobody - much different compared to how busy your dorm building was.
you squat down, gathering as many utensils in your hands before dumping them into the backseat of your car. how are you going to get them up there? no idea. surely rin has silverware, right?
“uh, d’ya need help?”
you look up to the owner of voice and briefly think that the gods have rewarded you for your good deeds by sending an angel down to earth. his hair is a little too long for your usual type, but god damn does he make it work. everything about him is sharp; jawline, eyes, nose.
“what?” you ask dumbly, brows furrowing faintly. your brain catches up, finally, and you stand up with an awkward laugh. “oh, um, no. i mean- i just spilled my things. thank you, though, that’s very kind of you.” you give him a smile and stick out your hand for him to shake. “i’m y/n. i’m your new… neighbor? building-mate?” you shake your head. “i’m moving into this building, is what i’m trying to say.”
he hesitates in taking your hand. at first, you think it’s because you stumbled over your words too much and now he thinks you're weird, but then he says, “yeah, i know.”
your brain seems to stutter at his words. the smile is still on your face, but you’re sure the look in your eyes reads confused. “i’m sorry?” you ask, leaning forward a bit - just in case you didn’t quite hear him correctly.
“you’re y/n,” he repeats slowly. “i’m rin.” there’s a moment of silence - a moment too long, because then he continues like you don’t understand. “rintarou? runa’s cousin? your new roommate?”
oh. suddenly, everything you thought was weird makes sense. runa using “he” instead of “she” - though that might have been your fault; you thought she just made a mistake. the dryness of the texts you were receiving for the past few weeks.
rin - rintarou - is a guy.
“oh.”
“what, did runa not show you a picture of me or something?” he laughs, a sort of snorting sound, but the silence you return is the only answer he needs. “oh, she didn’t? shit, sorry. she has a habit of leaving out important details.”
you scoff, though it sounds more like a laugh. “yeah, tell me about it.”
