Hello all! Welcome back to the MFackenthal Show! I am so glad that you are here today. If you’re new to the show, I encourage you to go here to find past episodes. There are only a few.

The MFackenthal Show has officially been green lit for more episodes! We used to only be able to afford to run the show every once in a while, but the people have spoken - they want to see the show more often! The funding came through and we hope to give the people what they want! Do you want to be on the show? Do you have someone that you want to see on the show? I could not be more excited to bring you this next guest. She has been with the fandom for quite a while. She was one of the first people I started communicating with on a regular basis. She has talked me up, supported me from the beginning and though she hasn’t written much lately - when she does drop a chapter - it’s long and it’s worth it! Please welcome to the stage @maxattack-powell!!!!! (Insert Cheering here!)

(Megs greets Max with a hug - which means that Megs essentially runs and leaps into Max’s arms. Max is fairly tall and Megs is barely 5′3″)

Megs: Max, I am so happy that you are here! Can you believe that you’re here today?

Max: Haha, yes - I can. But I am honored to be here.

Megs: Max, sit with me. For those in the audience who may not know you, tell us about when and why you joined the fandom.

Max: Yanno, I always made my best guess at this before, but I knew you were going to ask me this - so I looked it up. Did you know that now there’s this Official Tumblr blog called @memories, and it knows down to the minute when someone joined? Let me go check it… *digs through the blogs posts* Okay, it was apparently 07/31/2017 at 1:17:15 PM, which means it must have been on the weekend because of the time of day haha.

As for why ... hmm, well… I found the Choices app one day, when it only had like… three series I think! Anyone else remember that time?

Megs: I do! Because I was playing Hollywood University I think I downloaded choices the day the app came out.

Max: Awh! Well, I fell in love with The Freshman Series. Mostly because of Chris Powell and Zack Zilberg, and a long time ago I was in another fandom that had tons of fan fiction/art… so I googled “Choices Chris Powell” and any other combination I could think of looking for possible fanfiction. The fandom was almost non existent at the time. There was actually one person, who has long since left the fandom due to fandom dramas - we all know the kinds I’m talking about - but a few others had started posting their works as well… and I got hooked. Eventually I felt the bug to write how I felt TF should play out as well, and here I am *looks back at the “joined tumblr timestamp”* uhh… 20ish months ago! Haha!!

Megs: LOL, when you put it that way it doesn’t sound like that long ago ... lets call a spade a spade - that was almost 2 years ago! That’s amazing! You have to have seen so much in this fandom! What is it that keeps you around?

Max: There are so many awesome people in this fandom, in this world we’ve all created for our pixelated loves lol. Soooo many creative minds to follow and enjoy. The content people share, original or repost… it’s great.

... Unfortunately it is also a double edge sword ... the drama, the jealousy, the rumors, the hate, etc. I’ve sadly seen far too much and it comes in so many forms… it’s unnecessary.

Megs: I couldn’t agree more! If you could tell the fandom one thing - what would it be?

Max: It would be that we’re all here because we want to have a good time. No one came here to get ridiculed, to be scrutinized or chastised for their opinions, their likes or dislikes. Real life has enough of that going on. We are all individuals - if you want to be treated nicely, fairly, etc. you must also do the same to others. There is no reason someone must agree with you or anyone else. Live and let live. Embrace our differences as it makes us who we are. Most of the issues I see stem from a simple difference in opinion. That is ridiculous. Everyone’s entitled to their own thoughts. We must build each other up, not tear one another down. No one here owes anyone anything, now go have some fun.

(The room stands up in applause!)

Megs: You should definitely stand up and take a bow, Max!

(Max does just as Megs suggests - but she also makes Megs stand up and do the same. Laughing, they both sit back down.)

Awh, Max ... okay, let’s get back to you. We know that you’d fight anyone for the position of The Chris Powell Appreciation/Fan Club. And for those who don’t know, Max has been retelling the full The Freshman series, interweaving dialogue and plot from PB but also adding much of her own content. MC and Chris get a backstory. Chris gets best friends from back home. What is your favorite piece that you have written?

Max: Oh geez hahaha. Um… can I just say The Freshman Chronicles as a whole? I’ve written for different fandoms, and I have original WIPs but I’ll stick to the Choices fandom for this answer. I’ve put a lot of time into TFC. Tons of additional story work, research on characters and their backgrounds, PBs and my own OCs. You should see my file folder setup haha. It’s crazy… I have so many docs, pictures and gifs. Most organized by location (Hartfeld, Boston, New Haven, Cherryfield, etc.), then by character… and on some I get more detailed and split them by emotion and situation.

Megs: By what again?

Max: Emotion and Situation ... Yeah. I warned you it was crazy! *laughs* TFC was the reason I joined tumblr really. Instead of staying a Nonny and only reading others posted works. I wanted to comment, like and reblog what I enjoyed, while I also worked on my own contribution to the fandom. I had a vision for Chris and MC that had more than the game could give, and I wanted to see if i was still any good at writing since it had been years and years… it’s funny to see how different my current posts are from my first over a year ago. Makes me want to go update a few because they could use a little help *awkward laugh*

Megs: I’m sure we can all relate to that! Hmmm ... I’m starting to get a feel for this, I think, but what is your writing process?

Max: Lots of planning, mostly in my head. When I feel like I have a decent concept I might type out some notes or work it into my outline (another crazy thing I have going for TFC because it’s so big haha). But usually, once I hatch out a basic plan on where I’m going… I just start typing. Keeping the general plot and main points I want to hit in mind, I simply start typing… keeping it as organic as possible. It usually works out well.

Megs: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Max: First, and most importantly… do it because you enjoy it. Don’t do it for likes, reblogs, popularity, etc. If you’re having a good time dreaming things up and typing them out, that’s what’s important. The rest is just an extra bonus. Also, don’t give up. It’s easy to become discouraged, frustrated, distracted and more… but remember - your creative cells can’t be running all the time. They need to rest just like your body. Take breaks… go read, play games, hang out with friends/family, watch a movie… whatever. Just do something to help you relax, to reset and you’ll very probably find inspiration and/or motivation to continue. Remember, this is for fun. *wink and finger guns*

Megs: So what do you do for fun?

Max: I actually have a few things I do regularly. A big one is making costumes/props for conventions, small productions, etc. I also train and show horses. I do the same with my dogs, but more for competitions and not really any shows. I’ve always drawn, sculpted, painted since I was old enough to hold things with my hands… and about a year ago I started learning how to do it digitally as well. I run (not at all for fun haha) and play hockey (totally for fun), follow comics and watch anime. I've restored houses, cars and old furniture. I like to read as much as I can - that’s an important one. I also play video games. Something I’ve done since I was young… I've even competed, and won, a few gaming tournaments.

Megs: You don’t know how to be bored do you?

Max: LOL, Megs. Yeah, um, so there’s a “few” *makes air quotes* of my never ending list of interests haha. Gives me a lot to talk about with people, eh?

Megs: Not that I can understand how you’d have time for this ... but what do you do to help pay for your many activities?

Max: Oh like, my job? Well that can be a simple answer… like “I work in software” but the more interesting way to say it is I use my MBA, experience in business, the financial industry and technology to improve and stabilize my customers environment through technological solutions that fit their specific needs. *presses lips together* I solve problems by designing solutions. Bored yet? Hahaha.

Megs: No! That sounds wonderful! Who doesn’t want their stuff to be designed better? Any chance you could start working for tumblr? Some of us have a few complaints ... tags ... mobile losing our work ...

Max: I’m not sure they could pay me enough to help them with all of their problems! But, tumblr, feel free to send me an offer!

Megs: Seriously - send her a 6 figure offer!

Max: Okay, Megs, well now I have a question for you.

Megs: Uhhhh, Max, that’s not exactly how this is supposed to go.

Max: Yeah, don’t care. Your fans need to know ... Hoooow do you find the time to read and review so much?! And I know that’s just in this fandom. I know you read books and you may read for other fandoms!? Seriously, it’s awesome. We need to clock your page flipping speed haha.

Megs: *blushes* Oh my gosh, you have to stop! Here’s the key to how I do it ... I wake up at 5:30am and read for about 30 minutes. Then I workout and start my day. I read in line at the grocery stores. I read on my breaks at work.

Max: Oh my gosh - you’re such a nerd and I love that! Okay, nerd, what is your favorite thing to do, besides reading all the things of course?

Megs: This show, of course! And, of course, getting people to do silly things on this show with me. For instance - with as athletic as you are, I hear you can’t jump?

Max: Megs, shhhhh. You told me you weren’t going to bring that up.

Megs: I did no such thing! (Meg says while laughing) I said I might not bring it up.

Max: Uh huh.

(Kris Kross’s “Jump” starts playing in the studio)

Megs: Come on - show me what you’ve got!

(Megs starts “singing” along and jumping along with the song. Max stays seated. Megs finally pulls Max up into a standing position. Max plays along and “jumps” next to Megs - getting no air at all.)

Oh, come on Max - put some real strength in to it. Jump! Jump! Jump!

(Max jumps and gets the smallest amount of air time.)

Max: *laughing* Megs - I’m tall! I don’t need to jump to reach things!

Megs: *laughing* That must be nice. I got good at this type of jumping because I had to learn to jump up and gently grab things from the grocery so I didn’t knock everything down.

Book: The Royal Romance (After Book Three) Pairing: Bastien Lykel x OFC Rinda Parks Word Count: 1,864 Rating: M for Language Author’s Note: Obligatory disclaimer that Pixelberry Studios owns the TRR characters and my pocketbook with those darn diamond scenes. OFC with all of her quirks is all mine. My apologies if Tumblr or I do something stupid when I try to post this. The keep reading link shows up on my laptop but not my phone. Ugh. This series takes place in week three of the school year, and Bastien and Rinda are about to go through their first major friendship challenges. Summary: Bastien is getting some extra attention from one of the moms, and he isn’t thrilled when Rinda teases him about it.

Rinda couldn’t wait until the school day was over. A mom started showing a special interest in Bastien, and since Rinda had the most interaction with him, she was given the important task of getting more details. She walked into his office with a big grin “So, the juicy gossip is that there is a MILF who is totally interested in you. Are you going to ask her out?”

Bastien gave Rinda a wary look and reached for his phone. “I want you to know that I downloaded the Urban Dictionary app, Rinda. Okay, what’s a . . .” He blushed and set his phone down and returned his attention to his laptop. “Bastien—hey. I’m changing the topic. Please just talk to me.” His jaw clenched and he refused to look at her, so Rinda sat down next to him and looked at her phone while she waited him out. Ten minutes later, Bastien was still immersed in his work and Rinda knew she fucked up. Big time. Bastien’s silent treatment never lasted that long. “Okay, Bastien. It looks like you won this round. Henry will be here soon, so I’ll talk to you later.” She leaned closer to him, hoping he would look up at her. “Bastien, I really am sorry that I teased you about that. Please forgive me for taking it too far and upsetting you.” Bastien didn’t even acknowledge Rinda when she left. . . . . . The next afternoon Laura and Rinda didn’t have pick up duty, so they stayed in the classroom at the end of the day. Rinda grabbed a chair to hop up to the window to watch Bastien and the MILF interact. “Rinda, what’s going on with Ms. Trakas?” Rinda laughed. “I don’t know. She’s totally into him though. Touching her face, playing with her hair, learning in. Oh, wait. Oh. Oh my God, Laura. She touched his arm. Like, total flirty smile and oooh, this is really good. Now she’s keeping it there, and he’s not moving away. Oh damn, if only we had some kind of listening device. I can’t see his reaction, but he’s not moving away.”

Bastien was becoming a favorite with a lot of the parents at the school. He always wore his suit, and damn, he wore that suit. But he was also loosening up with the kids, which was even more endearing to them. And there was one mom, recently divorced, who was ready to pounce. “So what’s the deal, Rinda? You talk to him the most.” Rinda shrugged. “I do, but I really don’t. I mean, I love working with him and he’s been so great to me and Henry. I like him a lot. But I really don’t know anything about him because he doesn’t open up about his life. I did tease him about Ms. Trakas and he completely shut me out. I really don’t want to go there again.” Rinda looked out the window again, her brow furrowing. She knew Bastien was very private with his personal life, especially at work. But was he also that shy? “Hey Laura?” “Hmm?” “I know we were joking about Bastien at the end of summer, but you’re sure you’re not interested in him, right?” Laura looked up and nodded. She had a crush on Bastien when she first met him, but as they got to know each other they slipped into a comfortable working routine. Not as comfortable as Rinda and Bastien were, but a comfortable professional working routine. Rinda looked over at Laura. “Okay, just checking. Bastien may need a wingman, but I don’t know if he’s comfortable enough around me that I can get away with it.” She stepped onto the chair and then jumped the rest of the way to the floor. “He’s coming back inside and we’re supposed to meet in his office this afternoon. Hopefully he’s not still upset with me for yesterday’s MILF comment.” Laura whipped around. “MILF? Jesus, Rinda. No wonder he’s been avoiding you all day. You’re the only one who would even think about talking to him that way.” Rinda laughed. “Actually, I don’t think before I talk to him that way. That’s the whole problem.” . . . . . Rinda was waiting outside of Bastien’s office when he walked up. “I’m sorry I’m late, Rinda. Pick up duty took longer than I expected. Anything new I need to know about?” He sat down behind his desk, but Rinda remained standing. There were a couple of families who were dealing with difficult divorce and custody issues. Rinda gave Bastien a hard copy of next week’s custody schedule and the highlights of where he’d need to be and when. She also included the emergency contacts for the children, but she and the principal also had the info and could take care of that if needed. Even though everything appeared fine at school, Rinda wanted to be prepared. There were several instances back home when a parent would purposely try to pick up on a day they didn’t have custody. At times it got violent and required law enforcement intervention, and an emergency contact would need to come pick up the child if both parents were in police custody. It took Rinda under a minute to update Bastien, and he nodded when she was done. “Bastien, is there anything else you needed to go over?” “No, thank you for this.” He looked up at her. “Seriously, thank you. I knew joint custody affected children at school, but I never thought about . . . all of this. I’m glad we’re prepared for the worst.” Rinda nodded, and then closed his office door and sat down across from him. Bastien leaned back in his chair and gave her the deflective stare with silent treatment. Not that he even needed to. It was clear he was still upset with Rinda. She got right to the point. “Bastien, I’m sorry about the comment I made yesterday. I joke around with you a lot and take things too far. That was obviously beyond teasing you, and I apologize that I invaded your personal life and made a joke about it.” Bastien sighed. “Thank you, Rinda. I appreciate that. I needed some time to myself. I don’t like the idea of my interaction with Ms. Trakas being public entertainment or something people talk about, so thank you for giving me space today.” Rinda nodded and started to get up. She knew it was smart to leave it at that and walk away, but she wanted to help. She just didn’t know what kind of help Bastien wanted. She decided to sit back down and just go for it. “Bastien. Just let me say a couple things without you shutting down and deflecting, okay?” Bastien leaned back, suddenly wary. Rinda continued anyway. “Look, people gossip at any work place. And I’m going to be honest with you. Everyone can see that Ms. Trakas is interested in you, whether you are interested in her or not.” Bastien blushed and tried to cut Rinda off, but she stopped him. “Bastien, no. Look, if you need to turn around and stare out the window or pretend to work on your laptop so this isn’t so embarrassing, that’s fine. I totally get it. But I need to talk to you about this. I want to help. So just listen, okay?” Bastien gave Rinda an even stare before pointedly opening his laptop. Rinda got the hint, so she stood up and walked to the bookshelf, suddenly interested in the selection. “Bastien. In case you haven’t looked in a mirror lately, you’re pretty drop dead gorgeously hot. And you don’t have a wedding ring, and you don’t mention anyone, so the assumption is that you’re either really single or it’s really complicated.” Bastien began doing random searches on the laptop, refusing to look up. Rinda continued to calmly page through a book, not looking at Bastien. “You’re also this complete man of mystery because, well, we don’t know much about you. Just that you’re a Cordonian hero who was injured in the line of duty multiple times. Saving the life of the King during a shooting. Digging people out of the rubble after an explosion, escorting them to safety. That’s like Romance Novel 101 material, in case you didn’t know.” Rinda caught Bastien shaking his head and trying not to grin. Good, he might actually be okay with me talking about this. “Look, I don’t know if you’re even interested in her, or if you’ve got something else going on. But whatever it is, please know that I’m here to help.” Bastien looked up at her and his voice had a sarcastic edge. “And how would you do that, Rinda? Play matchmaker?” Now it was Rinda’s turn to lean against the bookshelf and give Bastien an even stare. “If that’s what you want, yes. You won’t be here much longer, so it isn’t like it’s going to be a conflict of interest. I’m sure she’d understand that you couldn’t pursue anything while you’re still working here. If that’s even a concern of yours. And if it’s weird to ask her out, there’s a million and one ways I can arrange a time for the three of us to meet at school and then I suddenly have to run home to Henry. Or maybe some teachers mention going we’re going for drinks at the end of the week and she casually gets invited along. It’s easy to figure something out where the two of you end up together in a group situation, or just the two of you. BUT only if that’s what you want.” “And if I DON’T want?” “Then I tell the gossip train to shove it and respect your privacy. End of story.” “End of story? Just like that?” Rinda walked back to her chair and sat down, refusing to break eye contact. “Look, Bastien. People have been trying to get me back into the dating scene since day 366 after Jameson’s death. Trust me, if you want to be left the fuck alone, I get it. I’ve mastered quite a few tricks over the past six months that I’m willing to share with you. Of course, having a wedding ring and an elaborate backstory about a hero husband who died in the line of duty is a big help.” Rinda gave an unapologetic shrug and grinned. “I could always create a backstory for you . . .” Now it was Bastien’s turn to grin. “No. Please, not a Rinda Ramble backstory!” They both laughed but the room got quiet when they stopped. After a long pause Bastien finally spoke. “So, Rinda. You think I’m cute?” Rinda rolled her eyes. “God, I knew that was going to bite me in the ass. No, Bastien. Not ‘cute.’ I think I said that you’re ‘hot.’ There’s a difference. You’re not cute.” “Mmm, no Rinda. Your exact words were ‘pretty drop dead gorgeously hot.’” Rinda just stared at him. “Seriously? That was your take away from this entire conversation? Why the fuck do I even waste my time trying to talk to you?”

Jeremy Renner’s app - why I left and everything wrong with it.

First, I want to start this post making it clear that I will be not exposing names or sending hate towards anyone. I’ll merely talk about the reasons that made me choose to leave the app over the weekend. I will get into the topic of buying stars/boosts but I will NOT condemn people for doing it, as it’s not my problem what anyone does with their own money.

I joined the app on the same day it was released and I subscribed to it ($2,99/month). I was never very active over there, I would simply like the posts, make a comment or two and just watch people interacting and getting a hang of how things worked. And I wasn’t pleased. I will be writing this in topics, to make ir easier to understand. Things that weren’t seen by me or are just rumors will be marked as such.

The app itself: What it is and how it works.

The app was released around March, 2017. Here’s the description of the app at the app store (I’m not an android user, so I’m not sure if it’s the same over there):

- Listen to the FREE built-in playlist and add more songs from your personal library, Spotify.

We’ve just launched subscription service! Subscribers will get the exclusive subscriber badge to decorate their avatars and help them be seen, as well as exclusive content just for them. The $2.99/month subscription fee will be charged through your iTunes account as an auto-renewable, recurring transaction unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the current subscription month. You can manage your subscription, cancel it, or turn off auto-renewal at any time by accessing your iTunes account.

Jeremy does post content there. Some pictures, a few videos here and there and he takes a little time to reply to fans when he can. As we all know, he is a very busy man so no one expects him to reply to a lot of comments all the time. We understand and respect that, so this isn’t an issue.

As you can read on the official description, there is a subscribe service. For $2,99 a month, you get access to everything in the app. Some posts are tagged for subscribers only (or “Super Fans” as the app calls us who pay the monthly fee). Sounds good to a certain point, so I joined and started to learn my around the app.

Thecnical Problems From day one, the app had a few issues. Of course we understand that it was recently launched so that is completely normal. I’ve had issues with the app crashing multiple times and the notification tab not working, but tumblr user @Sephirayne had a lot more problems as she stated on this post.

Another user had her account closed for no reason and when she got it back, her stars were gone. Ecapex’ Technical support worked on it and gave her stars back, but it took a little bit.

Hopefully, the notification tab will be improved and fans can have a better experience on the app. Since is still a relatively “new” thing, let’s give them time to work on all the problems and bugs.

Stars and Boosting

The app works with a system of “boosting” comments. To do that, you need “stars”. They can be earned by using the app or they can be bought (when you download the app you get a starter pack of 100 stars). Here are the packs and the prices (iOS version):

Now, like I said in the beggining, I am not against people buying stars. As Jeremy is very busy, boosting comments give fans a better chance to be seen by him and having their comments replied to. This topic is just to explain how this feature works.

Aside from boosting comments, you can boost yourself to get to the much wanted “Top Fan Section.” That means your profile picture will be featured under his post with a “#1 Fan” (or #2 or #3) as seen here:

Clicking on your profile picture will let you know how many starts you need to boost yourself up to that position. For example:

As previously stated, that gives you a chance to be seen by Jeremy, since your post would be on top. A lot of people only use the starts they gain within the app, others buy it and use it to boost themselves or other fans that have good comments.

The super fan label

This is where I started to get a bit uneasy. The app has a badge for people who pay for the monthy fee and they are described as “Super Fans.”

Bullying

This are RUMORS I’ve heard. I wasn’t online when it happened and any clarification about this is welcome.

There were rumors that a fan was bullyied by the “clique” until she left the app. That same fan talked about this last night on instagram and deleted her fan account because she was extremely disappointed with Jeremy.

I can’t get in touch with her now since I only knew her fan account, but if she wants to come forward (as the person accused of the bullying) they’re welcome to share their thoughts.

The “Clique”

I will NOT be throwing names in this topic. I will call them “Person A”, “Person B” etc if I need to. This is not intend to send hate towards them or anyone, this is simply my view on things and again, I might be wrong.

There is a little “clique” in the app. A group of fans that can afford starts and are always on the top fans section. Nothing wrong with that, people can spend their money however they want, but they monopolize the top fan section and that doesn’t give other fans a chance.

Contests/Replies

I’m not sure how many of those we had, since I’m not willing to download the app again and go through every post. But the ones I remember are:

Video replies: Fans asked questions and Renner posted video replies daily during a month;

Signed photos: Fans answered a question and best answers got signed pictures. I believe there were 10 winners;

Set visit: Fans asnwered three questions for a couple weeks and Renner chose one to visit the Avengers set in Atlanta. Starts bought during this contest had the money from it redirected to Hurricane Harvey Relief (around 14 thousand dollars)

With that being said, let’s move on to the next topic: favoritism.

Favoritism

This came to mind after the results of the last contest on Sunday. Since the app began, I’ve been seeing a pattern being made where the same people were always in the top fan section, which made them get a lot of replies from Jeremy.

A few people of this group also got video replies, the signed pictures and one of them was the winner of the latest contest, the set visit in Atlanta. I will not criticize the money spent on stars on this because it went to a great cause, but the way the contest was handled really set some people off.

Answering questions for a chance to win, doesn’t work for everyone. Being busy as Jeremy is, he can’t possibly read through all the comments, which means that, as we all knew, said person won. Her comments were boosted a lot (which is nice, it generated more money for charity) but that’s making people think that there’s something else to it.

Did he get to read other comments that weren’t on the top section? Did we even had a chance in the first place? Probably not. Fans are hurt from seeing the same people benefiting on every contest/giveaway simply because they have more money. This is not a contest, it’s an auction and Jeremy should have made that clear from the beggining, because other fans have been pouring their hearts out for a chance to win when they never had a chance in the first place.

It’s hard not to think of favoritism when we keep seeing the same names and the same people over and over again. It fells like it’s Jeremy + his super fans and the rest of us are just the rest. And yes, it’s hurtful.

If he can’t give everyone a fair chance, he should think of a different system for these contests.

Reaction from other fans

After the winner of the set visit was announced, a lot of fans expressed how they felt. They were quickly buried by “let’s be positive” comments trying to shut them up and a fan was even banned from the app (I talked to her, if she wants her name here, she knows how to contact me).

People were accused from “stealing the winner’s spotlight” ou being “sore losers” simply because they pointed out that the whole thing wasn’t fair from the beggining. Some people (me included) weren’t surprised at all with the winner because, like I said, there’s a pattern.

I am NOT speaking for everyone (although I saw simmilar reactions) when I say that, as a fan, I am hurt. Deeply. I am hurt because I’ve been a fan for years, I run a big fan account and in that app it’s like I’m nothing because I can’t afford to buy his attention or a chance on those contests.

Fan accounts have been deleted, fans left the app and others say they will only stay there from the friends they’ve made, but that they were equally disappointed. Huge fans are being treated like they’re not worth as much as the other ones simply because they can’t spend as much money on the app. Does Jeremy have an idea of how much this affects people (negatively)? What about his staff? His PR?

He made two instagram posts after the contest announcement. One of them has multiple comments from unhappy fans and they’re all being ignored. There was an open letter I posted and that was shared by another fan account that it was ignored as well. It’s like we don’t have a voice.

What I think it should be done

I’m not asking Renner to change his mind about the contest. She won, let her enjoy it. What I’m asking is for him or his staff to say something about the unhappy fans, to show us that our voices have value and to tell us that the next contests will be fair. I want them to make it clear which is a contest and which is an auction, so fans don’t waste their time on something they won’t have a chance.

I need to be proved wrong when I say that, right now, it feels like money matters more than true fans. Our love CANNOT be measured by the amount of money we spend and people CANNOT feel less of a fan just because they don’t have as much money as the other ones.

Clint fucks up all the time, but he always admits what he did and tries to fix it. This is hurting your fans, the people who have been supporting you for years and have helped you get to where you are right now. This is hurting the people who will still be here when shit goes down. You used to call super fans there your “loyal fans”, but we are ALL loyal. We are ALL superfans. I hope you get to see what’s truly happening, because I think the main reason you’re not talking about is because you don’t know.

This app is dividing people instead of creating a community. Everything seems bright and shiny because people ignore what happens out of what? Fear he’ll be mad? This only leads to Renner not knowing what’s truly happening.

This needs to change. He has other social media to interact with fans, the app is NOT the only way. Things need to be fair to EVERY ONE, or people will keep leaving.

I really now get why most of times I saw people literally freaking out about Lady Gaga. I mean, I liked about 2 of her songs but then bam, I saw her singing once at the Oscars, I think it was a tribute (in life, as all tributes should be) to Julie Andrews, it was The Sound of Music. I think my “wow face expression” really matched Andrews’, it was amazing, what a great voice. I started to download more of her music.

Then, she surprised me yet one more time during her red carpet “parade”. I thought well, Gaga has nothing to envy to the “perfect ” actresses we usually see (her outfit was AMAZING)! She looked really pretty. But then her nominated song started and yes, she brought me to tears (supporting that worthy cause like a boss) and there I was, getting surprised again although I should be used to already and not getting surprised at all.

Finally, her show during the Super Bowl was incredible. Her physical condition, oh my god! If anyone has tried to sing during any strong physical activity knows what I’m saying. I used to practice Olympic gymnastics and one thing our coaches used to do is force us to sing while doing the warm up part of that training session. Last time I did this was when I was about 16 years old (in those days you’re basically done at 16, not like today that you see another perfect creature of creation, Simone Biles, I think she’s about 25?). I was very young and with more than 10 years of 5 hours a day, all week except Sundays on my back, eating rabbit food.

We ran, jumped, stretched, did push ups etc etc etc, singing. It helped the muscles of the abdomen to get really strong, they said (yeah, it was true but I hated it). We were supposed to do that for 20 minutes…. I COULDN’T do it, most of us couldn’t. Not even for 10. It’s so damn difficult! Well, people, you just watched a 30+ year old do more than 13 minutes of very taxing physical effort, twirling and flying on the air, being rattled like a can full of marbles by a dancing seizing dude and dancing like a damn superhero and never lost her breath (noticeably, she’s goood).

So yeah, I not only like her now, I admire her completely, not only because of how she dresses, how she sings, etc. She’s the real thing.

Anyway, to finish this I want to explain why my comments here matter. I like Tumblr because, along with other apps, it helps me to cope with the two chronic illnesses I have. They, combined, make anyone’s life quite miserable. So let me thank Tumblr in this way, by expressing a reflection and an opinion, since this place is open to these types of thought expressions. It also (usually) respects the age of the one posting. Because you might have thought by reading the first part of this post, that it was some millennial’s rant or even a teenager.

Well, nope, I’m a bit older than that. So Gaga did it again and won one more fan during this last performance and managed to awe this a-bit-jaded lady, old enough to be a teenager’s mom… that happens to find Tumblr a good place to vent out and have some fun.

189: Love or career? - These two questions are kind of the same. But I would pick career, for this one. I know that’s what I did four months ago. And I know that the way I went about it was wrong. I was focused too much on my job. I was so happy I had a job that I could be proud of. But I didn’t balance it out. I didn’t balance work and my girlfriend. I put all my energy into work, because of the hours, and the learning, so I didn’t have energy for her. In spite of all that, after losing her, I still pick career, because I’m still young, because I learned my lesson, because I still have time to make a relationship work. I still have time to make it all work. I don’t wanna end up old and alone. And also, because I lost her, I really really can’t lose this job. I really don’t know what I would do if I did.

190: If I could time travel, where and when would I want to go? - Three years ago, when I got home from the hospital after I had surgery on my arm. I would gladly start over from there.

201: A nightmare that has stayed with me? - I used to have dreams where I’d be driving a car and I guess I’d go off a cliff or something and I’d be falling in the car. But the dream would always end before impact or whatever.

202: How do I define love? - This is gonna suck. Love is when you look forward to seeing them, every second of the day. When you already miss them, five seconds after walking out the door, after saying goodbye for ten minutes. When their voice, and their laugh, sounds so beautiful, like the sweetest and most uplifting song, and instantly brightens your day. When you memorize everything they talk about, what they like, dislike, and every comment and every random story they say that they think is irrelevant, but you still memorize and take to heart. When you memorize every little detail of their face. When you look into their eyes, and it entrances you. When you look into their eyes and you can’t imagine doing that with anyone else. When you look into their eyes and see everything you want and need. When you hold them, and they’re holding you, and you feel so happy, so content, that it feels like home. But love is also when you still want to do all that stuff, you still want to hold them, after they have been stressing you and frustrating you. After disagreements, after fights. Or after a long shitty day at work. Love is hard. It’s complicated. And it takes a lot of work and communication.
