#malkin#as much as i like to think of myself as observant#i think i still underestimate geno#but it's also why he is so fascinating#there are a lot of layers behind those pretty brown eyes#you can see it in his expressions and wonder about it#but it sounds like not too many people actually get to know the real man underneath#i do think there is a difference between being shy and reserved though#geno seems to me like a combination of both at different times in different circumstances#i like it#he's incredibly endearing...with each new thing I read or hear about him i swear to god

hello! can i ask for one punch man headcannons with mitsuri-like (demon slayer) s/o? they could be a hero with love based powers, like for example when they fight their powers make their opponents fall in love with them. of course they also have mitsuri's personality; very cheerful and full of love and admires basically everyone! (plus, the only reason they became a hero was to find a lover, just like mitsuri lol)
i'd like to request this with saitama, genos and garou please! thank youu :3
- 🫧 anon
─Saitama, Genos & Garou x mitsuri!reader
─Summary: some headcanons of you being you trying to find your loved one
—Warnings: none
ohhh more content for opm, ty 🫧 anon!
—You met him during the entrance exams, you were only there because you thought it would be easier to find a fiancé.
—Though you ended up taking the tests and becoming an S-class hero unintentionally.
—At first you're like Genos, although you weren't looking for someone to train you because you were already someone with good resistance and fighting qualities, you liked to admire Saitama.
—The interactions were rather dry on his part, he still doesn't know why you flatter him so much if you ever meet in battle.
—Because you were so insistent, he let you go to his house from time to time for tea or coffee.
—Though whenever you start spilling information about your quest for romance, he ignores you.
—Let's face it, Saitama isn't interested in love right now, so if you ever confess, it's going to end up being a refusal on his part.
—But if he sees you too discouraged by his harshness (because this man doesn't know how to say things tactfully), he will cheer you up by saying that he will help you find husband material.
—Poor bald man, he's going to lose his eyelashes trying to help you, but at least he made you happy knowing you'd have help.
—Extra points because he will make comments about your physical appearance affect you less.
—You met in a meeting with all the S class, Genos being the new one greeted you without knowing that inside your mind you were fantasizing about marrying him.
—Just look at him! He's a cyborg, what more could you ask for? He sounded perfect and his steadfast and peaceful demeanor only made you fangirl more.
—He definitely doesn't understand your occasional blushes when you look at other heroes, he will ask you on more than one occasion if you're sick or something.
—He admires your strength and sometimes he asks you to train with him, you don't need more, as long as you can spend time with a possible future fiancé you will be there.
—Unfortunately, Genos isn't focused on love, his only goal is revenge.
—Although that will not prevent you from continuing to admire him, filling him with praise in your mind.
—He is much softer than Saitama with words, but his problem is that he can express himself badly.
—It's okay, he'll also promise to help you find the right person, he'll register you on all the existing dating apps before you know it.
—Don't worry about what other people think about your appearance either, Genos will be throwing his worst look at them and he will tell you that external appearance is not a determining factor when it comes to maintaining a love relationship.
—He was looking for S-class heroes and he ran into you, with the bad luck that he had fought and been badly off before.
—You defeated him and he became unconscious, despite being a villain, you felt bad so you decided to take him to the hospital at the very least.
—Garou is an attractive guy and despite being on the opposite side, you were not going to underestimate his beauty and fighting style.
—He will look for you after that because he feels that he has been humiliated by someone not as recognized as some other heroes.
—You won't take his evil character seriously because you saw him interact with a child in a completely peaceful way the day before.
—You will play cat and mouse constantly, you started fantasizing about a 'forbidden romance' because of that.
—Garou will soon notice how you actually like seeing him, confused as fuck because you look happy that he's spending another night trying to hunt you down.
—You feel admiration to see how determined he is with his goals despite not being your same ideals, seeing someone so passionate makes your heart race.
—Unfortunately you know that Garou isn't that interested in you, let alone romantically for now, but that doesn't stop you from fantasizing about him.

Hands
I'm no artist, but I do appreciate good art when I see it. A little love then for Murata's portrayal of hands. I first wrote this sometime in 2016, one of my first posts on the OPM subreddit. I think it it’s still good!
I may tend to dig into different aspects of OPM, but it's only to consider the aspects that the writing or art actually cares about. For example, I'm yet to consider the geopolitics of OPM -- it's not important to ONE and I leave it there.
I like looking at hands in general, but my gateway drug were Genos's. Something was naggingly familiar about them, and then I realised: they're Jack Kirby hands, big, beautiful Kirby hands! Anyone who considers affordances in a mechanical rendering is my friend -- they look like they might almost work. For example he doesn't have the equivalent of metacarpals (the bones in the palm of your hand) as the palm needs to be a solid piece for the incineration cannon exhausts. It means that the width of his hand is fixed and he can’t reshape his hand for many of the precision grips we take for granted. So Murata has taken it into account, for example, when you realise that he has a telescoping thumb in some arm sets to compensate. We wouldn't have minded if Murata didn't consider such detail so consistently, but when someone works that hard to to get the trifles right, I have to care too. And then I started to look at other characters' hands too.
drawn like some thought has gone into how to engineer a functional hand rather than metal textures drawn over a regular hand -- I just fell in love with Murata’s art over this.
By and large Murata has given regular characters their own hands, rather than generic ones (which again we wouldn't have noticed or cared about). My other favourites then:
Saitama's hands have surprisingly long fingers. One almost doubts that they belong on a fighter... and then they curl into that fist. All part of the character everyone loves to underestimate.
doesn’t it look like he should be a pianist?
Garou has some of the longest fingers I've seen on a non-deformed character -- when he flips you off, you stay flipped off. But they don't create a sense of delicacy: while they're long and thin, they look as hard as bone. They fit so well with his fighting style -- when he spears them into his opponent, their devastating impact is utterly believable.
At the opposite end to delicate are Tank Top Master's. Again, without being deformed, his are these giant meat hooks that form into wrecking ball fists. The brutality of those hands contrasts so clearly with the kind face he has.
Sometimes it's not the look of the hands that's notable, but what the characters do with them instead. In that respect, Metal Bat is particularly noteworthy. He has hungry hands: they seemingly cannot hang at his side but must be touching something, holding a bat, stuck in his pockets, his sister's hand, his own hands, something. It adds a sense of restless energy to his character that you notice, but don't realise that you do.
this is as still as you’ll ever find Metal Bat
A very different kind of restlessness comes across in Dr. Genus's hands: he has bitten his fingernails to the quick, which go so well with the haunted look he wears.
Hands I was curious about then:
Dr. Kuseno. I hadn't noticed until I was compiling this list, but I've not seen them at all. They're only ever tightly locked behind his back. Everything he does is effected through robots. Now I'm curious. Well the years pass and chapter 89 rolls round and we get to see the doctor’s hands: they’re tiny, in keeping with the rest of his dimunitive self. And they’re not afraid to touch Genos. But next day comes round and they’re right back behind his back.
needless to say, this is one of my favourite panels: the care that’s gone into every character’s hands is excellent. I especially like the detail of Bang being left-handed, and notice that Genos’s fingers swivel from the knuckle to allow him to grip the chopsticks precisely.
Looking at hands, can I draw attention to King’s for a moment? I thought they looked a bit familiar. And then I realised that Murata has referenced his own hands to give to King. It just gives me the biggest smile.
Even in something so small, Murata has taken care to make sure it speaks to who characters are.

Alright bestie, second chance bracket now that we’re down to the sweet 16, who you got?
Cos rn i got (and i’m actually mostly using my singular brain cell this time):
Elite 8
SC vs ND (i think Oregon St could upset ND but i hope not)
Texas v Stanford (i could see nc state potentially upsetting stanford but i think stanford holds on)
Colorado vs UCLA (wvu came sooo close to that golden upset, and so in jaylyn i trust to actually get the job done. UCLA and LSU have both seemed a bit shaky to me so this is a toss-up but no way in hell am i gonna choose milky)
USC vs UConn (of course)
Final Four
SC vs Texas (idk, stanford hasn’t given me a lot of confidence lately but i could be wrong!)
UCLA vs UConn (going with ucla marginally since they swept colorado during the regular szn, and huskies restarting that final four streak plus paige reminding everyone that’s still doubting, why she’s the best. Like i love juju but it’s still paige>>>)
National Championship
SC vs UConn
Champion
I want to say UConn, babes, I do but i just cannot see anyone beating SC rn and us even getting to this point with our (lack of) depth would be a heck of an achievement but beating SC is one too many hail marys i think 😭
Ngl though, i kinda don’t wanna see us lose to SC again in the championship game and so a part of me would actually rather us lose in the final 4 if that was the case 😬 (unless we play iowa or lsu then fuck that i’ll take the loss to sc)
I'm scared to predict at this point cause my brackets was in shambles and lowkey you and I are on the same wavelength with most of these but here we go:
Elite 8:
SC vs ND: SC obviously (and I need them to destroy those zionists) and I think Oregon St. could make something happen but I think after the Naismith "snub" (quotes cause I'm 50-50 on this) Hannah is gonna be on one and Oregon St. doesn't have anyone who can stop her.
Texas vs Stanford: Texas because Gonzaga does nothing for me and Stanford v NC-State is gonna be really interesting, but ultimately I don't see how NC-State stops Cam and Kiki.
Iowa vs UCLA: Listen I think Colorado can beat Iowa. I just don't think they can beat the refs+Iowa+the narrative the networks want. The same honestly could be said for LSU-UCLA because the LSU-Iowa rematch is what the NCAA wanted but I think UCLA can overcome that (as opposed to Colorado) because they're a better team and because LSU has been unimpressive to me
UConn vs USC: Baylor does not impress me at all and well the UConn-Duke matchup *pray pray pray* I'mma shut up about it because I'm not in the mood to jinx things
Final 4:
SC vs Stanford: I think the ND vs SC game will be a lot better than the one in Paris but SC is just too much at the end of the day. And again with Stanford-Texas, I could see it go either way but I just don't see Texas stopping Cam-Kiki both
UCLA vs UConn: UCLA is a better team but again there's a narrative and refs and even despite that as we saw last year, it could still be Iowa, but I still think it's gonna be UCLA. USC vs UConn, Juju vs Paige might cancel out but I'd like to think the rest of the UConn team (if they show up) is better than the USC also just who's gonna guard Aaliyah?
National Championship
SC vs UConn: I do actually have Stanford in my bracket but as you said they're kinda not giving me the greatest vibes and well SC is SC. On the other side though, fuck it, in Paige Bueckers we believe. But also, I think this is a much better team than the one that faced UCLA in November. We were figuring things out and the team's morale was really low, I think we'll be much better. Also never underestimate Cori Close's ability to be outcoached especially if it's Geno of all people. A
Champion: I'm not gonna say it but y'all know what I'm thinking. Does it make sense to pick SC? Yes. If you're a betting person, do that. But me I'm here for vibe so once again, fuck it, in Paige Bueckers we believe!

More Sans AU headcanons
Here are some headcanons I have of other Sans AUs. I've already said my piece on the Star Sans and Bad Sans. (None of this is canon to the actual characters. These are just headcanons)
First, I see Blue and Swap as being two different Sanses. Blue is the Swap Sans that became a Star (And is best Sans) while Swap is the Swap Sans that stays in Underswap... I still don't believe in Bwuebewwy. Swap is the older brother. He is 2 years older than Stretch (Swap Papyrus) (Blue is the younger bro. But it doesn't matter because his Pap is dead). Despite being older, Swap is not as mature as Blue. He is taller than Blue and only slightly shorter than Classic. He is 3' 11''. ALWAYS YELLING.
Lust is 4' 1''. Lust is always coming up with cute nicknames for everyone. Mostly for Blue.
Fell is 4' 2''.
Classic is 4' 0''. He is the only Sans that does not have an ecto. Or he at least never uses it.
Ccino is 3' 10''. Nightmare's ex.
I personally don't see Geno as a tsundere. If anything, I see him being the one who would fluster a tsundere. Geno is 4' 7''. Reaper's ex.
I also don't see Reaper as a horny pervert. I see him as a calm and tranquil, serious dude that can be a flirt when he wants to be. He's a total smooth talker. Reaper is 4' 8''. Geno's ex.
Science is 3' 11''.
And finally we got the one, the only, Freshy boi. Fresh is a tall motherflipper at 6' 3''. One of my all time favorite headcanons is that Fresh likes to play dumb to make people underestimate him. Everyone knows what he's all about and that he's dangerous but until he has a personal little 'chat' with someone (Like in the Christmas party AU with him and Sci) they just think he's an incompetent threat. But he doesn't do this around Error just to mess with him. He likes to watch Error try to warn everybody but literally no one believes him.
Undertale: Toby Fox Swap: Popcornpr1nce Fell: Undertale community Geno: Crayonqueen Fresh: Crayonqueen Lust: Nsfwshamecave Reaper: Renrink Ccino: Zagifan123 Science: HolyTraitor

This song makes me think of Genos, Saitama and King in that specific order
YOU KNOW WHAT
IF YOU PUT THEM IN ANY ORDER IT WOULD WORK
Each of them have their own reasons for being all of the three.
The Soldier
Genos - The man is a fuckin' martyr. His persistence, he fights for justice, he holds a power often underestimated. He fights for the world, he fights for himself, and he fights for the people he loves.
Saitama - In a literal, physical sense, I don't need to explain it. He's a powerful hero undeniably. However, in the non-physical sense, he's a true soldier. He powers through mental hardships like a tank, and even if it isn't the easiest thing in the world, people will feel the impact of when it hits him, when he confronts it, and when he defeats it.
King - He's very powerful in the way of influence, and he's a good representation of strength in presence (given his effect on Saitama's way of perceiving things and his general affect on people who admire him. His popularity).
The Poet
Genos - Of course, Genos is a very strong poet. The way he carries his words, how much he speaks, the long-term impact of the praise he sings. My man knows how to talk in a way that brings everyone's attention on him.
Saitama - Like his fighting style, his words hit hard and permanently, though he himself doesn't believe it. He has Genos wrapped around his finger, teaches him without even meaning to (which does happen, even if what he says half the time is half-assed. It still indirectly teaches Genos something the cyborg himself finds meaning/value in). He inspired King to no longer fake being a hero but actively persue being one at heart, believe it or not (we all saw the way he stared at Sai in awe when he realized he was, and the way he gawked when Saitama told him to work at being a hero if he really wanted to be/call himself one). He shone a light to Fubuki's toxic, damaging, and self-absorbed way of thinking, her way of perceiving strength as a way of determining worth (self or otherwise). Whether his self-esteem is low or he's just humble, there's no denying his influence on people.
King - Similar to Saitama, he does impact people with his words. Specifically Saitama. As I said before, he changes the way he perceives things, situations and people. Not only that, but his words are such a comfort as well. He's very real and relatable, and he does provide moral support. (I would give examples, but the pages escape me. I just know that it happens without being directly said)
The King
Genos - He has Saitama wrapped around his finger, whether he knows that or not. Majority of us have read chapters 165-170. And isn't that just like ruling the world?
Saitama - Saitama is an undefeatable force to be reckoned with. There's only one way to get to him, and even then, it might just mean the universe's demise. He, even if he doesn't realizes, can shape the entirety of the world and more—just as much as he is in charge of carrying its safety on his back. He can destroy it and he can protect it, like a King to his kingdom.
King - He has a responsibility: to carry not only the image of someone people, especially the few he's close with, can look towards, but he also needs to manage himself. He needs to be able to handle himself, his goals, and the people around him. He's not really allowed to lock himself away and pretend he's doing a million things like he used to anymore. Not with people like Saitama emotionally relying on him. And he needs to work towards actually doing things if he wants to be a hero.
You probably didn't expect this long as post lmao but I couldn't help myself.

new opm chapter! loved it. expected blast to move them off the planet, he did. cool guy. also we get to see his friends. boris saying not to underestimate earth... thinking they have more of a connection to boros than just species.
saitama protecting genos core makes me think hes gonna get repaired. and turns out he doesnt need to breathe! neat.
also props to the funny moments weaving their way into the serious part:
from a powerscaling perspective thats broken as fuck. dragon ball powerscaling fans in shambles.
despite his words, i dont think saitama is going full power. his dialogue gives me more vibes of "i am beating you up to let steam off". hes not killing him. however hes still in danger. what if god takes his power away? hes gonna run out of air!! would he even survive if saitama is carrying him?
also i think garou is starting to snap out of gods influence because of his speech bubbles (going back to normal on some panels). hes doing a back and forth on it while sandwiched between gods power over his mind and saitamas power over everything else.
and my god those moves were beautiful. garous all moves combo getting ignored was kinda lol, but i liked the "omnidirectional serious punch" (which was essentially serious punch+serious side hops). and the table flip. astronomers in the opmverse so mad.
bets for the next chap: garou realizes he cant actually copy raw power, saitama beats him up a bit more, god tries to forfeit garou but he survives, something happens with the jupiter storm (someone on reddit pointed out it was acting like an eye on this chapter)

Yes! Exactly. He was so looking forward to “fighting seriously” without actually thinking through what it would actually entail for that to happen. Now that he gets his chance, it’s not even exciting for him. He doesn’t feel more alive for it. It’s yeah, like he is going through a dark passage of feelings but… we all knew that wouldn’t be possible without well… all this cheese happening. The perfect representation of “careful what you wish for”. And for both him and the readers. I saw some forums where they wanted Saitama to get serious. They were practically blood lust themselves but… now everyone is like “what’s going to happen to everyone. What’s going to happen to GENOS? This is too much!!”. Which is another thing. I always thought ONE and Murata generally the hit the mark balancing out the characterization of everyone and the emotions that wanted to evoke in us as readers. This chapter though… It confuses me. Or I might be underestimating Saitama’s feelings. I might not be letting him be human. What with my expectations of his never ending wisdom and aloofness. Maybe it was time for him to let go too and be angry. Actually angry. Loose control for once in… all years of him prancing around, punching, and getting of over with quickly and swiftly. Maybe it was high time he felt something, even if that something it’s not what we expected? Where at least it comes from love and affection for the people he cares about? I don’t even know.
(Continuation) I also get the feeling Saitama can't 'enjoy' or feel 'alive' for this - aka a fight he'd otherwise always wished for, because it ultimately feels pointless or trite to him, compared to the feeling of losing what he holds dear (Genos.) :')) It's an emptiness that can't be filled, no matter how much venting or violence he releases into the dead cold vastness of space....
I'm unsure where he we go from here, including what it will take to reel him back to his usual sense of perspective/awareness (I mean hey, Garou's still there, miraculously tanking everything in one piece, so neither of them are technically all 'alone' yet.) But man, instead of a downer conclusion to their battle, how much more fruitful this would be if they unleashed their dual rage upon the actual bad god Himself (instead of aimlessly upon each other)...
#opm#saitama#manga spoilers#bohemian-suho#replies#i worry what it will take for saitama to 'return' :') you know what i mean?

I have had Papyrus Thoughts. I have put them below the cut
been lookin through all the early snowdin scenes bc we're going to be lifting some dialogue hardcore...and Sans has this one line about Papyrus, "don't worry, he's not dangerous. even if he tries to be." what does that MEAN, SIR. is it that Papyrus has a lot of traps and puzzles that could be dangerous, but wouldn't use them to kill anybody? is it that Papyrus's ability to knock people out without killing them isn't the product of great control but just that he's literally incapable of killing people? does Sans straight up not know about Papyrus's combat abilities?? (incidentally that last one would explain why he's not there for the Papyrus battle--if he figures "oh my bro can't fight like at all" then he'd have no reason to expect a battle to take place, and it would be congruent with how he frankly kind of babies Papyrus, but also how would he not know)
anyway as interesting as any of those interpretations would be, i'm gonna say that Sans completely, hilariously underestimates his brother's capacity for violence. Papyrus has a couple of lines that imply that he's not necessarily a pacifist, or at least not opposed to enacting violence (even accounting for cultural differences, beating someone unconscious is in fact a violent act). And even without using all of his potential, he's obviously a strong fighter. but, according to Sans, "not dangerous." I mean he could be lying, but tbh it's way funnier if Sans '1 hit and he dies' 'will not fight come hell or high water' Undertale simply does not recognize that his extremely cool bro could possibly harm another person. Papyrus? Never!
This could possibly be true by a mix of Sans's impression that Papyrus is more ignorant than he actually is, combined with Sans's own values and his assumption that Papyrus shares them. I will argue to my grave that Sans is a pacifist (if a real-life person refused to fight unless they were not only the next victim of an actual genocide but also facing down the end of the world, I think we would still count them as a pacifist, actually! also the geno confrontation is much more narratively interesting if Sans is setting aside his own ideals to totally, viciously oppose them--from 0 to 100 on the violence scale because he has been backed into a corner and he has exactly one way to fight back so he's damned well going to give it everything he has); and Sans so clearly admires and loves Papyrus that a few things might be assumed--such as Papyrus being totally harmless, because Sans is pretty much harmless, and why would he assume his brother is more dangerous than he is? Besides this, Sans's 1 HP comes into consideration--even if Papyrus sees no issue with making friends by inflicting massive damage on one another, Sans would be an obvious exception, because if he roughhoused with Papyrus like that he would die instantly. So the only attacks Sans has faced from Papyrus have absolutely no intent to hit, much less harm. So, yeah, I do think that Sans wouldn't really think of Papyrus as someone capable of causing harm, because Sans has never seen it from him, and he's left to assume that Papyrus is like that all of the time.
so like. I am imagining that someone could tell Sans after a pacifist run, "hey your brother beat Frisk unconscious and put them in your garage to sleep it off." And Sans would straight up not believe them. like. "papyrus? nah, you're yanking my chain. what kind of guy do you think my brother is?"
Anyway I forgot where I was going with this, except that I think that Papyrus is absolutely willing to do a hit, and Sans would not believe this fact if anyone, including Papyrus, tried to tell him. Which then has the potential to set up the fun and interesting dynamic of, "My brother has horrible stats and doesn't even try to defend himself! I have to protect him so that no one takes advantage of this."/"my brother is a little naive, and he'd never hurt anyone, no matter what. i have to protect him so that no one takes advantage of this." because Sans and Papyrus are each other's opposites in so many ways that they can both think they're covering for each other's glaring weak spots, and they can both be totally correct about this. and totally wrong.
#undertale#writing tag#anyway ppl recognize that paps doesn't kill anyone regardless of playthrough#and that is a neat fact#but murder is not the end all be all of violence#like. if u look at the text you get when monsters are reduced to low health but not killed#it's not like they're cool and fine with it#they react much like a human beaten half to death would#papyrus is legit cool with just. beating someone up#he will begin to feel bad after he has beaten them unconscious twice#whereas sans will not make even a token attack if a single monster is spared#like even if he hates their guts he will let frisk/chara pass#idk i also think it's just funnier if sans if a pacifist and could literally witness papyrus kill a man like#eh i'm sure it was a misunderstanding. now excuse me#i need to go tell papyrus a painfully obvious lie so that he doesn't realize this misunderstanding has happened#how sad that that guy accidentally ran into a suspiciously bone shaped knife several times#i will do absolutely no further investigation of this

Hello, it’s me again with some Batarou headcanon! This time I wanted to share my older headcanon that I’d like to rewrite again because I still love the idea 😚💕
Zenko must have lots of knowledge for classical music to learn many piano repertoire as a trained pianist, what if Badd also had that too? But instead of pianist like her, he was a violinist?
He could play a violin at some point when he was a kid, who became Zenko’s inspiration to play classical music, before he decided to stop playing it and take a serious job as a professional hero for Hero Association.
While Badd doesn’t play anymore because he was too busy doing his hero works, he still has muscle memories to play violin, despite it becomes a bit rougher after not practicing violin regularly.
Sometimes Zenko becomes piano accompanist to Badd’s violin playing whenever he feels like to start practicing again. Like it would make him reminiscence his past memories, all the time he enjoyed playing violin as a childhood hobby.
Now that Garou comes into Badd’s life, he later found out that Garou actually likes to play guitar. The wolfboy could play both accoustic guitar (he could do it as a side hobby since training days) or electric guitar (after he got it from Badd as a birthday gift).
Garou likes to watching Zenko and Badd doing violin-piano duet practices, or watching Badd practiced solo violin repertoire at home. On the other time, Badd offering Garou to do violin-guitar duet with him, both using their electric version of their instruments: electric violin and electric guitar. Usually they choose to play some classical music rock/metal cover or some pop music using those instruments.
Then after Garou got pardoned by Hero Association, joined them as a new hero and eventually becomes Badd’s partner, he starts playing a mini concert together with Badd on Hero Association’s charity events. Fortunately, Genos willing to collaborate with them as their drummer. Thus they formed a Shitty Teen Squad band.
Now imagine they three played the music piece like in the video, with the position: -Badd as violinist -Garou as guitarist -Genos as drummer
Their performance amazed many Hero Association executives and staff, their fellow hero friends, or the guests. Especially Badd. He did a truly jaw-dropping performance, because everyone didn’t expect out of all people who can play such an intricate instrument like violin, it would be Badd.
Never thought that a person as brute as Badd who always using his caloused hands to swing a metal bat could handle a rather delicate musical instrumen: a violin. Not to mention he showed his hidden skill like a pro. Garou was so proud of Badd, the young hero finally could show what he got to the world so they wont be underestimate his talent outside being a hero.
Just imagine how wonderful their violin-guitar duet on a modern rearrangement of this classical music piece..
——————————-
So how about it? ✨ I hope this mini Batarou headcanon turned out well. Actually I still have one more classical music headcanon that I like to share to you, but let’s make it for next time 😆

★ @ghostbustingreen asked: 🍵Pour one out for Geno, Nikki
OH DREAMY THE CANS OF BEES YOU’VE JUST OPENED. LET’S-A FUCKING GO. i’mma put this under a read more because i’m aware that i’ll probably be getting really fucking vile here. y’all been warned.
holy shit, let me just say how STUPID some people are for thinking that people who like geno have CLEARLY never played super mario rpg because if they did, they WOULDN’T like geno because THEY THEMSELVES DON’T. they often like to compare sales and say that smrpg was a ‘flop’ that few people liked, on top of the fact that their opinions make them so blinded by bias that they can’t fathom other takes.
let me break down how fucking brain-dead this take is and why it makes me want to get these dumbasses brain transplants, STAT. put them on the front of the brain transplant waiting list, because they DESPERATELY need them.
first of fucking all, bitch, your experience with smrpg is not everyone else’s. just because someone’s favorite character is geno DOES NOT MEAN THEY DIDN’T PLAY THE GAME. there are so many other lovable characters in smrpg (mallow, jonathan jones, booster, valentina, smithy, jinx, etc), but if someone’s favorite is geno, they SURELY don’t know the other characters and OBVIOUSLY never played the game. LOL SMRPG PLAYS THE GAME FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME HAHA
you know another reason why people make this shit up? because of geno mostly being known for being a smash request. i do agree that this does blow, as i wish people would stop associating geno ONLY with smash and let smrpg fans just appreciate him and his game as a whole, but GOOD FUCKING GOD. guess what? a lot of people heard about geno and therefore smrpg BECAUSE OF THAT. guess what happens when people hear of a game and fall in love with a monumental character from that game? they might, you know... play the game?
B-BUT THE GAME IS SO HARD TO GET! YOU CAN ONLY GET IT ON MODERN SYSTEMS IF YOU WERE ONE OF THE FEW TO OWN A WII U OR AN SNES CLASSIC.
sit your pure christian brainlet ass DOWN, karen, because you underestimate the rampant piracy when it comes to nintendo games. i know that people doing something that may be harmful to your pwecious favowite cowpowation is enough to make you clutch your doterra essential oils or your unwashed dick, but it’s a thing! wow! especially with games like earthbound, super mario rpg, and chrono trigger, snes emulation is extremely common. it’s how most people get to play these games nowadays because of nintendo’s own failure to provide alternate means of play through legal methods. it’s how i got to play super mario rpg all those years ago! through an emulator! yes, i’m a filthy fucking pirate! yo ho ho, bitch, try some fucking grog and sing a fucking shanty with me, because we’re going plundering for nintendo’s tasty treasures.
you know what that means, by the way? the sales for smrpg on the snes DO NOT COUNT AS THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE PLAYED THE GAME. WOW, FUCKING SHOCKING, RIGHT? HOW ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO GOT IT ON VC? THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SNES CLASSICS? THE PEOPLE WHO PIRATED THE GAME? THERE ARE A BUNCH OF THEM. YOU ACTUAL BUFFOONS. HOW DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT. ARE YOU LIVING THAT FAR INTO YOUR INFESTED UNWASHED ASS THAT U CAN’T REALIZE THAT. LMAOOOOO HOW IS UR IQ GOING BEING IN THE SINGLE DIGITS
oh, but none of that matters, right? people who like geno still never played the game because i said so, therefore they deserve to have people going out of their way to their smrpg fan content, to their social media, and to FUCKING DOXXING PEOPLE because they like a video game character!! death threats? wanting to literally smother, gas, or set fire to people who have a preference for a non-problematic video game character? TOTALLY OKAY! if it was just about morons being morons, i wouldn’t even be this hateful and spiteful, but it’s gone so above and beyond that to the point that these people deserve nothing but having their asscheeks devoured by their local alaskan bullworm. go back to snorting your own fecal matter and getting high off of your own farts, you filthy neckbeards. maybe your lives are the ones who should be re-evaluated as being ‘wastes of oxygen’ if you’re making death threats OVER A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER.
this is why i hate the smash fan base. no, i don’t hate smash fans, obviously. i’m in the rpc and i know a lot of smash fans. i love them dearly. however, the general fan base is a toxic wasteland and a lot of this behavior is either overlooked or normalized. this is the same fan base that allowed grooming of minors to run rampant for so long, after all. this is the same fan base full of mouth-breathers who want nasty art of underage smash fighters and make it by the tons. it’s the same one full of some of the horniest, pathetic turbo-incels i’ve ever seen. the fact that i hate the smash fan base more than HOMESTUCK’S should speak volumes. it’s REVOLTING. leave me the fuck alone, i’m a mario rpg fan and not a part of your fucking fan base. i want nothing to do with y’all, so stop seeking me out just to cry and moan because i like a video game character you don’t like. you fucking freaks.
#★ ; ( ooc. )#ghostbustingreen#negative //#swearing //#violence //#death mention //#general just. rage. pure and unbridled rage.#i feel great now that i let it out tho.#this has been sitting on me and i haven't rly#let LOOSE a proper very angry rant#now that i have i feel like a million bucks#but seriously this gets rly nasty guys. be warned.#i get REALLY really angry here.

2020 in One-Punch Man. Part 1: Manga
How shall I describe this succinctly?
It's like ONE and Murata looked around them, saw a raging pandemic, massive disruption to all walks of life, uncertainty of when, if, or how it might affect them, took a massive drag of their cigarettes and said: “Fuck being conservative. Let's go wild. Fuck making our current arc a webcomic retread with fancier fights. Let's introduce more lore, let's have more characters interact in ways one would never have imagined, let's have characters do things that hadn't previously been thought of and make this really exciting.“
If you were holding onto the webcomic as your guide to what next, 2020 was not a good year for you.
723 pages in 24 updates (including revisions) changed the status quo ante in deliciously unanticipated ways!
Where we left off in 2019, we were following the webcomic pretty faithfully, with most manga-original elements being removed at a fast clip. Phoenixman was dead, the mercenaries had died a brutal death, the ninjas had been resurrected but had run off buck naked, Orochi was dead, G5 was very much destroyed, Drive Knight had appeared but had obligingly limped off, taking Nyan with him. The S-Class heroes were in trouble with the cadre exactly as expected and Saitama had met up with Flashy Flash. Tatsumaki had finally found Psykos. Yup, no real changes here.
2020, HAHA!
Awaken!
Throwing manga-specific elements away? As if! They took the great opportunity that preparing chapters for publication to critically review and revise the story so as to first, make it move at a faster pace and second, to be enriched. It’s meant that chapters for volume 22, 23, and 24 (to come) have been redrawn to accommodate the changes and we got the benefit of many of them between April and August of this year.
We started with Phoenixman’s fight with Child Emperor. It started innocuously enough with Phoenixman resurrecting, but then we got a much more interesting chunk of knowledge -- the existence of a metaphysical world modelled on one’s on psyche where the assault on Child Emperor’s sense of self took a much more existential nature.
From a purely physical battle (and some nifty cool info about the Subterraneans) to an otherworldy battle happening in parallel with the physical battle:
It ended up a very interesting examination of Child Emperor’s character and his relationships with other heroes, as well as telling us something else freaky about Saitama’s ability to be anywhere he damn well wants to be.
Ah, and Phoenixman lives. Albeit as a little chick (for now). He’ll probably be back, but not just yet.
The mercenaries were next. They didn’t die. Not because Amai Mask had a change of heart, but because Iaian listened to the niggling feeling in the pit of his stomach and turned his team mates around to intervene just in time.
As you’d expect, trying to guide the mercenaries back to the safety of the surface has been an incredibly challenging ordeal for the disciples. It’s revealed much more about the way the disciples trust each other and lean on one another, and yet, when there was no option to do so, Iaian stepped up wonderfully to fight to save the mercenaries.
We’ve also learned something interesting about why mercenaries exist at all in a world supposedly at peace. I look forward to seeing where this plot might go next.
Elsewhere, we got to learn a little less about Puri Puri’s dancing and swimming lessons, but we got some really awesome nods to the mythical in Bakuma (the baku is a long-nosed creature formed out of all the bits left over after creation that eats dreams) and Electric Catfish Man’s sudden sense of doom is both reference to the way catfish are supposed to detect earthquakes and just damn cool.
A monsterised exploitative business man taking the form of a demonic dream-eating monster that consumes weaker monsters so as to exploit their abilities is so appropriate on many levels (and unreasonably hot!).
Yes, Waganma does make it to the surface, along with Saitama and Child Emperor. Saitama gets chased away by a Sekingar outraged that there’s a clueless hero just wandering aimlessly around. Child Emperor goes back underground and I loved to death Waganma being pierced with remorse as he realises that the hero is going to go risk his life anyway. He’s spoiled, but his keeping quiet came from a place of being a scared human being desperate to be saved (a surprising number of fans did not like that -- they preferred to think of him as a psychopathic monster incapable of remorse).
Orochi still has a date with a gloved fist, but he’s getting to live a little longer than he did before.
Overall the story is tighter and there’s a lot more interest as well as future plot hooks than there were. I’m interested in seeing how it gets tied up in the next volume sometime in 2021.
Reddit did not take it well. Summary of discourse:
sorry not sorry, I lost patience around the 500th whiny post
Advance!
What about the new chapters we got? Also here, ho ho ho, that status quo has gotten a good kicking!
Orochi came back. Not the most surprising surprise in the world, given how carelessly Saitama punched him. Also not surprising that he came back stronger; Phoenixman had wonderfully demonstrated that monsters can bounce back from near-death situations much stronger. But his form... such a disgusting, slimy, ever-shifting mass of tentacles and dragons, consuming all in its way led to the third craziest development: his fusion with Psykos to launch a new monster.
I’ll spare you the disgusting intermediate stages but the end result has been the birth of Psykos-Orochi and with that, what had been a total sweep for Tatsumaki turned into a much more dangerous enterprise where every mistake of hers got punished brutally.
Why is that only number three? Because Tatsumaki raised up the entire base to try to encompass the whole monster (and it turns out that she was thinking far too small -- the monster had actually eaten large sections of City Z) and Psykos-Orochi uses the space to launch a beam so powerful that it literally cuts off part of the Earth itself. It was a real I see it, but I don’t believe it moment.
if you didn’t spend a few seconds just staring in disbelief, you’re not paying attention. OMG. Boy is the Earth in trouble.
Why is that only the second craziest thing? Because of why this fusion monster was able to do as it did. ‘God’ doesn’t just go round looking like a semi-tangible being giving random homeless men magic powers. Yup, the Earth really in in trouble if some supernatural being is smushing monsters together to make a stronger one and then granting it extra powers. Just like that, the struggle has turned cosmic.
Tatsumaki trying to figure out how to fight back and save City Z from being swept away by a tsunami, save the heroes, and save the planet from further damage by the beams all at the same time was one of the most spectacular fights to date.
As I said earlier, this monster has presented Tatsumaki with a real fight where the slightest mistake on her part leads to severe punishment. She wound up in trouble when she underestimated how extensive the monster actually was and let up on twisting it too early, only to have it come right back and skewer her hands.
Thankfully, Genos came in and saved her from that pinch, then held the monster at bay long enough for Tatsumaki to finish saving the strike team so she could give the monster her undivided attention.
Which is a very tame way of saying that that was an incredible development in capability. That some of the fandom had trouble accepting (they suck). Watching their protests has been an exercise in special pleading. They have no trouble understanding how Murata uses scale...until it came to accepting the size of the explosion resulting from Genos smacking away Psyko-Orochi’s execution beam then it had to be a fisheye lens (visibly incorrect, but who’s talking facts here?). Have had no trouble understanding how Murata portrays escalation... until it came to accepting that Genos is strong then no, somehow the monster had to be weaker. Have had no trouble with the freeze frame language that Murata uses to portray things happening at great speed... until it came to accepting that Genos could move really, really fast. For some people, the new is only welcome when it confirms and validates preconceptions. Anyway, that’s my rant done!
the most unlikely of partnerships and they’re still going despite having taken a hell of a battering since this scene
Guess who’s back?
We’ve also been seeing more heroes come back to the fray. The emergence of the Tower of Doom acted as a clarion call to every hero around and able to move. Metal Bat sneaked out of hospital to come running back. Tank Top Master hitched a ride with Mumen Rider to go to City Z. He intended to stick around and save people, but seeing how much wider scale the fight was, he literally threw himself into battle.
Drive Knight decided he literally had to have a piece of the action, took up a ton of power from the nearest substation and came flying in to intercept a desperately escaping Psyko-Jet... ah, I didn’t say? Yes, the monster turned into a machine to run away once hard-pressed.
And we finally got to see what Blast actually looks like, courtesy of a flashback of Amai Mask’s. He definitely looks the part of a caped superhero and it’s little wonder he’s stuck in the imaginations of so many. But now I’m even more interested in seeing what his deal is and what is he’s like now
The one thing we know for sure will be happening is that Garou will not be denied his destiny. He’s coming. But what else is happening? Ah, that’s all in the air.
Bring on 2021!

!!WEBCOMIC SPOILERS BELOW!!!
Ideas about Genos’ arc
It seems so obvious now, but I have a new guess. In many of the posts I’ve written I’ve been frustrated because I haven’t been able to explain what Genos really wants, other than, well, everything.
It’s obvious to me that his revenge quest has at least as much to do with his unresolved grief manifesting as anger as it does his desire that no one else experiences the same horror.
It’s obvious to me that he wants he old life back, and yet he knows that can’t happen.
There was something I read somewhere, I don’t have the reference for at the moment, (please let me know if I got any of the details here wrong) but allegedly Genos cries oil. We know this because when Saitama confesses to Genos how lonely he is Genos gets really depressed and cries and tells Saitama to wait for him to be stronger so that he won’t feel so alone. That moment rattles around in my head quite a bit. Another thing that’s been rattling around is his upcoming battle against the “extended family of darkness.” And recently I’m exploring two ideas that could have some validity.
1. Genos is depriving himself of community until he can be “good enough” to never lose it again, which by his standards is very near perfect. I think part of the reason he’s so agressive with people is self-defensiveness from not wanting to be hurt again. Not wanting to experience loss again.
2. Genos wants his family back, but since that can’t happen more than anything in the world I think he just wants family, community, relationship. He would do anything for Saitama not just because he sees Saitama as the key to being able to be “strong enough” but also because Saitama ans Dr. Kuseno are the closest thing to family he has. I think that Genos can relax a lot more around Saitama (not that he’s ever really relaxed but the alternative is coldness, defensiveness, and disinterest) than even Dr. Kuseno at times because of Saitama’s invulnerability. And this isn’t even about shipping, this is about something I think is a pretty significant unmet emotional need. Humans are social creatures after all.
So, what’s the result?
It’s been getting more and more clear that Saitama isn’t meeting Genos’ emotional needs. Saitama is taking Genos for granted. Saitama may be noticing Genos’ improvements but he’s not validatinf them to Genos, at least not in a meaningful way to Genos. Their communication is getting worse. Saitama effectively, almost passive aggressively, kicked Genos out without so much as an satisfactory explanation (I’m not saying Saitama owes Genos an explanation for wanting some space necessarily, but just look at if From Genos’ perspective.) Genos still isn’t even close to fulfilling his promise to Saitama (that he’ll get stronger so Saitama won’t feel lonely), and Saitama doesn’t seem to be waiting around for Genos to get stronger. He repeated the pattern he began with Genos with Flashy Flash starting with tea and conversation and ending with a spar, something that until this point has been almost exclusively Genos’ privilege. His fears of inadequacy that he must be fighting after nearly dying during the MA arc and being saved by King (King! Not even Saitama) seem to pale in comparison to his new found fear of abandonment and the spouting seeds of resentment.
It’s really looking like he’s about to lose his family again. I’ve speculated before that Dr. Kuseno’s possible vulnerabilities and the impact that could have on Genos could be an import part of his arc. Seeing how things are going now I would be sad but not surprised if Genos lost either Saitama or Dr. Kuseno for a moment (possibly even both but at different times) I would be devastated if he lost them both at once. Honestly, I think that if he felt like he lost them both at once he could monsterfy. I think a lot of theories about Genos monstefying underestimate his internal strength and values quite a bit, but I do think this is a serious vulnerability for him.
I don’t really have answers though.

Manako’s PTSD: The Hero Training Test: 1/2
Remember all the fan-made fiction of Saitama and Manako is not in order so good luck with that.
“Hey Saitama do you want to come to Hero Training with me?”
“Nay I’m good, if they give you any trouble call me ok.”
“Ok, bye Saitama, I love you~”
“Love you too Manako.”
Manako hugged Saitama before she went out
Time Skip
Slowly, the Metting Room started to trickle in, and a few attempted to make small talk with the other heroes. She sighed when she realized that the minister is was going to be late.
“Hey, Manako!” Child Emperor grinned. “You’re the one my friend talked about, right? ZombieMan is his username!!”
“Yeah.” Manako smiled softly. “My Username name is FlashLight.” She explained. “He told me to keep a lookout for you. Sorry it took so long. I’m kind of socially awkward.”
“That’s fine, ZombieMan is, too.” Child Emperor grinned. “Is it ok if I ask you some questions, Manako?”
“So, Manako!” The Green hair girl, leaned towards her, cutting off whatever Child Emperor was going to ask. “I have to ask. What’s your Powers?!”
“My… Powers?” Manako blinked. Didn’t they…? Oh. She didn’t tell them. She opened her mouth to affirm that her powers is a literal flashlight when Sweet Mask decided to be an ass and do it for her.
“BL?! Ha! That little Monster’s power is literally a flashlight. She’s basically useless. I have no idea how the fuck she managed to get into A Class.”
“Flashlight?” Child Emperor echoed, confused.
“Gee, thanks a lot.” Manako threw SweetMask a tired glare, startling the blond. “But yeah, I’m basically a Flashlight. I still managed to become a hero same as the rest of you. So doubt me if you want, but just know that underestimating me will not end well for you.” There was a glint in her eye that made the heroes falter.
“I think it’s so cool! A Monster and you still got in?!, you’re incredible!” Child Emperor grinned, taking Manako aback.
“Um… what?” She blinked. She’d been so ready for the teasing and discrimination, already having built the wall around herself in preparation… but… what?
“Yeah!” Dark Shine grinned. Watchdog gave her a thumbs up.
“I think you’re very brave and definitely someone I wouldn’t underestimate on the battlefield. If you could take down those monsters while saving civilians , then you must be a force to be reckoned with.” Metal Bat.
“Though I gotta ask, how did you beat them?!” Child Emperor was literally bouncing in his seat.
Before anyone could say anything else, The Minister strode in, making Manako stiffen. Oh Phew it’s just the Tester guy or TG for short.
( I have no idea what’s the staff’s name is so the random mister guy is going to be the Hero Tester.)
After the TG explain the rules Manako smirked. This was going to be fun.
Flash Forward
Okay, scratch that. This was going to suck. Test Guy had put her up against SweetMask of all people. Manako didn’t know how, but she had a feeling that it was either on purpose, or a ‘unlucky accident’. Either way, her TG looked happy with the matchup. She supposed that Tester Guy simply thought that the two were friends since they went to same zones to help a bunch of random civilians at at that time, but…
Manako was not an idiot. She knew he had weak points and faults just like everyone else. He was just better at hiding them. Can’t look at something ugly—specifically that monster who easily beat up Sweet Mask and the roof started collapsing—and the important sparkles that came out of him? But there is one problem SweetMask has a strong hate towards monsters thereafter was something that could easily pull her into a flashback. (She hated sudden loud noises, but explosions were the worst. She blamed childhood trauma.) She knew this, which is why he tried his best to stay away from SweetMask whenever possible.
That’s why she always stay close to Saitama, she always feels safe around her BFF and Geno since most of the time she just hang in Saitama’s Pouch.
“TG?” Manako asked quietly, making sure none of her heroes would overhear. “I was wondering if I could switch opponents. I know that normally this isn’t allowed, but I have… bad reactions to certain noises, and was going to talk to Mike about working around it at the end of this week.” Manako was trying to be mature about this. She really was.
(Mike is a made up Monster Character in this universe.)
After all, she knew, logically, that this fear of hers is extremely dangerous in the field of heroism. However, that’s what Mike, the counselor, was for. He’d help Manako work through themeven if she didn’t want to talk about anything to the Ant Monster—and then Manako would be cleared to do hero work in those situations.
She was waiting until the end of the week because she knew it could pose the risk of her safety when she go out with one of Saitama’s Hero Work Trip Days, which she does not want Saitama to worry.
TG just smiled down at her. “I understand, Manako, but you cannot always choose what powers your enemies have. Even if it makes you uncomfortable, I ask that you still bear with the exercise. If things start getting out of hand, I’ll stop it.”
He isn’t taking me seriously. Manako sighed. “If that’s your final decision that’s fine by me.” I am in huge trouble!
Okay, so maybe Manako was being a little harsh. But she felt somewhat unfair and considering that the Monster Association. Tried to kill her twice. And yeah, she understood why he’d pared her with SweetMask, and even mostly understand why he thought it’s a good idea, but Monako was still bitter about the whole thing. And considering all that she’d been through, she felt that the minister chose the wrong person to do the test.
When the match started, Manako took a deep steadying breath. “Child Emperor.” The boy looked at her. “SweetMask will come after me. I’ll distract him to keep him in bay. Take this,” she passed him a small canister, “It’s a smokescreen.” He said. “Try to use it on Flashy Flash speed against him.”
“Right!” Child Emperor grinned, taking it from Manako with a smile.
“GO!”
Like a flash, Manako and Child Emperor bolted into the city’s building. As expected, SweetMask met them on the second floor, heading them off.
Manako motioned for Child Emperor to hide as he drew SweetMask attention. “Why do you hate monsters so much SweetMask?, What have I ever done to you?”
“Shut the hell up you Monsters! Why are you in the Hero Association? Are you here to spy on everyone?!”
“That’s what’s got you so mad?” Manako sighed, as she saw Child Emperor sneak up the stairs from the corner of his eye. “SweetMask. This is obviously a huge miss understanding can’t we just talk this out and be friends?.” She watched as the blond flinched.
“Like I’d ever be friends with a Monster reject like you!” He snarled, lunging forward with his all-too-familiar sharp hands.
Manako easily dodged, catching his arm pin it into the wall. It would’ve ended there if SweetMask hadn’t used his other hand to slice her up, but his free legs break through the floor and sending the two crashing to the room below.
SweetMask immediately jumped away and reared around to the offensive.
“So you’ve got some moves. So what!” SweetMask snarled. “You’re still a Monster ! You’ll gonna get killed anyways!”
“SweetMask.” Manako flinched when she hears a huge explosion went off a room above. The smell of the dust that the explosion kicked up and the sound of the ceiling crumbling at the edges of the hole that SweetMask made, but Manako nasty memories rather came right away.
Flash Back
“It’ll be alright, kid.” Aden smiled as she patted Manako’s head. “You’ll make it out of this.”
“B-but i don’t want you to die.” She protested through thick tears. “You can come with me. Saitama is a good friend he can help us.” She flinched at the sound of angry mobs of monsters.
“You know I can’t. Tell Saitama and the others I’m sorry—and stay safe, kiddo. Keep smiling.” She gave Manako a grin before standing up from their hiding place, leaving Manako essentially buried in a safe-hole Aden had dug just for her and the others so they have a chance to escape through the secret tunnels. “See ya in the next life.”
“Goodbye.” Manako smiled as best she could. “Auntie Aden.”
Manako shook his head sharply, barely dodging a blow from SweetMask. He hadn’t had to think about Aden’s death in a long time. The Ant Monsters had run out to draw the Mobs away from Manako’s hiding spot. All she’d managed to find of the ant after was few bloodstained pieces of clothing and some bone,And her minding helmet, That was it.
End of Flashback
“I know you won’t understand this, but there are bigger things for me to worry about than your point of view!.” Manako charged at him, ducking under a angry swings and dodging fierce blows.
Oh sh*t that was close!
The noises and explosion were starting to overwhelm her, and the smell of blood and nitroglycerin filled his nostrils, mixing with the scent of ash and smoke. She found that it made it harder to remember on what she was supposed to do. SweetMask kept using his hands-like glimpses of knifes and swords of the corner of his eyes.
Sometimes, when SweetMask tried to slice her with his hand, she overlapped with the image of the Miners evil boss. His red eyes glinted in malice and amusing glee, and Manako wasn’t sure if that was the hallucination or not.
Don’t kill him. The thought ran through her mind. She had to remember. This was SweetMask , not the Monster Association… not the evil boss… this is SweetMask . She pulled back, restraining herself, fighting against years of instinct screaming at her to do otherwise. She fought at only a small percentage of her power. She couldn’t go all-out. Not against her death coworkers. Not against, a fellow friend . A human child.
The two finally jumped apart to catch their breath as Manako held up his hand (a hand that looked bloody pale and was horribly dry from overuse of the slice hand technique), one finger hooked in the pin on the rope. Yellow eyes glined in bloodlust as they thirsted for his death. “You know what structure of this building is, right? Well, Monster, what’dya think these are for?”
Manako’s eyes widened in startled realization as her vision focused on the present for that moment. “The force of the channels down through the walls to the floor.…”
“STOP! YOUR GONNA KILL HER!” TG’s voice rung out in worry, and Manako heard the familiar voice of Mike in the background. Mikey? What’s he doing here?
“Only if she doesn’t jump!” SweetMask grinned as he pulled the rope pin.
If Manako hadn’t spent a decade time surviveing Saitama training or fighting a unbelievably fast and ludicrously strong Monsters, she’d would’ve actually died.
But luckily for Manako, her reflexes were insane, and she managed to dodge most of the buildings rubbles. But one caught her left leg, burning and piercing the skin. The smell of burned flesh reached her nostrils, mixing with the dust kicked up from Manako’s trap. The scent mixed with blood became unnervingly similar to the scent of a decayed corpse from the Monsters Association, and suddenly Manako was completely gone—she didn’t know where she was.
She was half-sure her mind was playing tricks on herself, but she heard some mobs nearby. She glanced around herself quickly, and slipped into stealth mode, hiding in the best spot she could find. She’d wait out the Anger Monsters—Mike and the others was smart enough to do the same. And if her friends was in trouble, Manako would plan it out. She’d go to help them if that were the case. She made a promise to the gang to keep each other safe, after all. Mike wouldn’t die. She’d make sure of it.
But she also promised Aden that she’d look after herself. So she needed to survive. “You’re doing great, Manako.” Aden’s hand ruffled her head. “You’re doing just fine. Keep your elbow bent a little more, yeah! Like that!”
She violently flung the thought out of her mind—this was no time to think of people long dead.
They will survive. No matter what.
May the Meeting Room
Silver Fang was tired. Not that that was necessarily anything new, per say, but he was apprehensive about Saitama’s friend first Heroics Test. Never once his gut feelings lie, he decided to observe TG’s lesson. It was the man’s first time testing heroes, after all, so he’d likely need a hand reigning in 19 superpowered Heroes.
He entered the observation room with TG and the remaining 15 Heroes as Blast, Atomic Samurai, King, Metal Night ready themselves for their battle. ZombieMan , personally, was against the idea of SweetMask and Manako facing one another (or a battle exercise right off the bat, but he trusted that TG had enough common sense to stop heroes for over doing it).
Something about the way SweetMask had lunged at Saitama’s Sidekick during the test before had rubbed him the wrong way. Though Manako hadn’t seemed phased by the unprompted lunge, ZombieMan could see the way she tensed around SweetMask and the surrounding. He suspected this was a case of trauma or something similar, but with no evidence there was nothing ZombieMan could do about it except do his best to prevent any further altercations.
Warily, he kept his eye on the match before him. He just had a feeling.
“Turn on the audio.” Silver Fang spoke up, startling the TG. He internally smirked—he loved scaring people when he’s on stealth mode.
“Silver Fang. I wasn’t aware that you were observing the Test today?”
“I wanted to make sure you had an extra set of eyes on these 2. They’re a handful.” He explained, and TG nodded.
“Um… how do I turn on the audio?”
ZombieMan sighed before leaning over and pressing the obvious white button with the headphone icon. Honestly, the staff should’ve made him get a teaching degree or at least. teach him in private so he will know what to do.
They listened as Manako handed what she explained was a smoke screen bomb to Child Emperor. Clever idea, but let’s see well her plan works.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t long until Manako met with SweetMask , and the results were as hated as ZombieMan had feared.
“Why do you hate monsters so much SweetMask?, What have I ever done to you?” Manako worriedly asked, causing SweetMask bristle in anger.
“Shut the hell up you Monsters! Why are you in the Hero Association? Are you here to spy on everyone?!”
“That’s what’s got you so mad?”. “SweetMask. This is obviously a huge miss understanding can’t we just talk this out and be friends?.” Obviously there’s a lot of context I’m missing, here.
“Like I’d ever be friends with a Monster reject like you!” ZombieMan’s attention immediately became entirely focused on the fight. He had suspected that SweetMask’s record wasn’t as clean as it initially appeared, but 1SRanks has a lot of advantage to hide from the public eye, also noob crushers was very serious—especially for a Monster hero like Manako and Saitama.
ZombieMan also found himself appreciating the smooth form that Manako had, and his obvious expertise with analyzing. She wielded them with experience beyond his years, and ZombieMan wondered where shee’d learned to fight.
Compared to Manako, SweetMask looked like a raging fashion model with graceful and stylish appearance or manner elegance.—powerful, with strong instincts, but a lot of wasted energy and movement. Manako’s movement wasted none, and actually reminded ZombieMan he needs to improve his fighting style a little more on his Weapon.
He tensed when SweetMask cracked a hole in the floor, freeing himself from Maniko’s grasp.
“So you’ve got some moves. So what!” SweetMask snarled. “You’re still a Monster ! You’ll gonna get killed anyways!”
Zim eyes narrowed. This was a personal statement. He knew right there that both of these 2 heroes would need to talk (SweetMask for his anger and fame blindness, and for Manako is low self-esteem and trauma.)
“SweetMask .” Manako flinched as another crashing sound went off, and ZombieMan took a deep breath. He didn’t like the feeling he was getting.
And for a moment, Manako froze. No… ZombieMan’s eyes narrowed. That’s not right. This is something else… But between the shitty angle of the camera and the dust settling, ZombieMan couldn’t name what it was before the Monster snapped herself out of it.
“I know you won’t understand this, but there are bigger things for me to worry about than your point of view .”
Something’s not right. The dust settled and he could see a lot more clearly. Manako’s eyes… they were somewhat glassy and she didn’t look completely there. It was as if she didn’t completely recognize where she was beyond the fight. That worried ZombieMan. A lot.
And then something changed.
It was subtle, and the shift was one that ZombieMan only barely noticed, but Manako went from a sparring fighting style to a fighting for your life style. He caught Manako altering several moves at the last minute that would’ve been lethal (for SweetMask) if he hadn’t changed course. That was when he’d decided that enough was enough. He moved to stop the match before someone got killed, when SweetMask spoke up.
“You know what structure of this building is, right? Well, Monster, what’dya think these are for?”
“The force of the channels down through the walls to the floor.…”
“STOP! YOUR GONNA KILL HER!” TG
shouted over the intercom.
“SweetMask , if you pull that ro—” ZombieMan started, but SweetMask didn’t hear him.
“Only if she doesn’t jump!” ZombieMan felt anger well up alongside his fear as the pin was pulled and a massive crash and explosion took out the building crumbling down.
“Holly Sh*t?! Is everyone okay?!” TG asked, but ZombieMan hit a button on the panel instead while Sliver Fang worried.
“Stop the exercise! Anyone continuing to fight will be expelled.” Silver Fang promised as TG sent him an affronted look.
“I’m going to go check on Manako and The rest. Call the hospital, there’s sure to be injuries.” TG nodded meekly and went to do as told. “Hero Training has been canceled” glared at the remaining heroes , who nodded and planted their feet where they stood or sat. half of them is terrified and the other half is worried if that was of ZombieMan , then good, he’d done something right. Silver Fang though
His heart pounded in worry. SweetMask was leaning casually against a wall, acting like nothing was wrong. While Child Emperor was sitting down on the floor and Flashy Flash was looking at the crumpled building “You are going to wait for me in the minsters office. We will have a nice long discussion on why that was not okay. And the boss wants to talk to you so don’t attempt to go elsewhere, and you’ll find yourself in huge trouble.” ZombieMan glared, and SweetMask straightened in shock and nodded.
Silver Fang stayed with the 3 heroes while ZombieMan looked for Manako
Fubuki and King came down the stairs, worry evident on their faces. “So are they ok?” Fubuki asked.
“Just go back to the other heroes since this test is called while I locate Manako also can you call Saitama.” He ordered, and King and Fubuki did what he had said.
ZombieMan was good at finding people with his analyzing skills—he had to be to find the crooks and crannies lurking in back alleyways at important missions. But it was harder to find Manako for the life of him, finding Manako is really tricky. And that scared him. It wasn’t until he finally caught sight of a few drops of blood on the floor (likely from cutting herself on rubble) that his eyes focused on a deathly still figure hiding in the rubble.
Wide one eyes stared around his environment, as if tracking unseen enemies. She flinched—twitched, more like—at unheard sounds, and her breathing was almost nonexistent.
ZombieMan realized that Manako was stuck in some kind of flashback. “Bright Light.” No reaction.
“Manako.” He tried again, noticing that his friend twitched a little at the sound of her given name.
“Mikey?” ZombieMan blinked. Who the heck is Mikey? He decided not to question it right now. “Yeah, kid. It’s me.” He carefully made his way over to him. “Can you tell me where you are right now?”
“Cave Mineing. I can hear them nearby… Making a break for it would be too dangerous, though. But as long we stick to the plan we can make it out alive. Did you get hurt?” Manako’s voice was scarcely a whisper, and ZombieMan couldn’t help but feel a little heartbroken to see the hardened and fearful look on her face. Just what had happened to Manako in the past? She looked like a soldier in a warzone.
“I’m okay. Listen to me. You’re at Hero Association You’re safe, it’s okay. Nobody is going to hurt you.” He kept his voice calm and soft, and the monsters blinked a few times in confusion. “There’s no one here but our gang?,But… I can hear them?”
“Hear who?”
“The anger mobs of monsters.” There was a pause. So Manako has enemies who are not only human but also monsters? “Mikey? Are the gang okay? Foapy, MooMoo… And Vend?” Are those Manako’s old friends?
“Yeah. Everyone’s okay, Manako.” He rolled with it, calling him Mikey. The monsters relaxed substantially, so ZombieMan assumed it was the right call. “Saitama is here to pick you up.”
“Saitama? But he’s…” her eye furrowed before her eyes cleared up quickly.
ZombieMan carefully placed a hand on Bright Light’s shoulder, and he found Manako’s hand grasping his arm like a lifeline. “Where am I?” She asked desperately.
“It’s Wednesday.. You just started your first Hero Test of Hero Association .” He answered quietly, and she froze for a moment before she melted into his arms.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to…” ZombieMan ignored the tears that were soaking into his coat as he held Saitama’s Sidekick . He reached up to his radio. “Silver Fang, I’ve found her. She’s hurt, but nothing life-threatening. I’m taking her to the Saitama myself.”
He then turned his attention back to the obviously traumatized monsters. “It’s all right, Bright Light. You have nothing to apologize for.”
“I… I must’ve hurt my coworkers and my teammate I… I’m so sorry…”

Can you do more headcanons for the shitty teen squads? I really love them. Plus I love all of your works :)
Aha! Funny you should ask, because I started working on this one just before I saw your ask!
Without further ado…
Even more trio headcanons!!
Genos, being a regular internet user, is well aware of the various memes circulating the media. However, he doesn’t have much of a close affinity to them, and only really uses them to mock someone online. Saitama on the other hand is oblivious, and Genos occasionally has to explain what a meme means for him to get it.
Never invite Genos to roast you. He will ruin your life. He already does it unintentionally with Saitama with his baldness, but when he does it on purpose?
Random Bitch: He’s a pretty good lay, though his nose was pretty ugly. He kept going on and on about how much he wanted to marry me- gross shit, I know, but if he keeps giving me the check, I’ll suck up to him and say I love him too.
Genos: *murderous, unimpressed glare* You expect me to believe that there’s someone who’d willingly sleep with you, and not immediately kill themselves afterwards?
Random Bitch:
Metal Bat has one hell of a sweet tooth. He’s got his heart set on chocolate, but he’s also fond of the classics: the aforementioned, vanilla, and cookies and cream when it comes to ice cream. He loves the cola flavoured lollipops, and if he had to get himself a boba tea, he’d go for the Taro flavour: it’s just too good to him. He didn’t care too much for strawberry, but Zenko’s love for it encouraged him to develop a liking towards it. His go-to snacks are Oreos, home made chocolate fudge, and pocky; with the occasional cola lollipop if he’s got to focus on something and can’t afford to get distracted by constantly chowing down on sweets.
His metabolism isn’t as nearly insane (practically inhuman) as Garou’s or Genos’s, but it’s more than fast enough to make him avoid gaining weight from them. Paired with his delinquent persona, (and buying sweets incognito from cutesy sweet shops the same way that King buys video games) most people are often surprised when he has a strong liking for them.
Since Genos uses intense firepower, he also has a hydraulic cooling system to cool him down. The only times where he steams up is during or after a fight when he’s used his fuel intensively, and the steam primarily comes from his arms, the jets from behind his shoulders, and occasionally his mouth if the arms use far more firepower than usual. For the times where he’s really, really worked up emotionally (mortified, furious, etc) bits of steam can be seen coming from his mouth, but it’s never extreme enough to get his whole body to follow suit. Apart from battle, his body is usually safe to touch due to how efficient his cooling system is: that includes the times when he’s angry, but not getting ready to fight. (I will die on this hill for this headcanon. >:0!!)
When it comes to people he respects, Genos deliberately lies or hides anything relating to him that might trouble them. That also includes his true thoughts on what you’re enamored with, his private disgust at your gross habits, and redirecting attention away from potentially offensive topics towards something that might catch your interest. Any mortifying but true things said about yourself has him in silence, unsure of how to navigate the topic without offending you.
Contrary to popular belief, Genos is actually pretty levelheaded when people insult Saitama online. He’s seen everything that people have to say about Saitama, and knows that fighting every fight- both small and huge- on the Internet isn’t worth it, since there’s always going to be horrible things said about him by people he’s unlikely to ever meet in person. Besides, no one would listen to some random user saying that Caped Baldy isn’t all that bad, and he’d rather not use his popularity as Demon Cyborg to attract unwanted attention to the both of them by praising Caped Baldy when they have better things to do. (*cough* shopping for discounts with his precious sensei *cough*) He deletes his history when he’s done browsing and subtly tries to steer Saitama away from sites that he knows are saying horrible stuff about him when his Sensei gets interested. It’s when people insult Saitama directly (e.g. In person, a fan letter that Saitama reads) that makes him angry.
Genos hates the thought of being inexperienced or having his attempts end in a failure, but he loathes it if Saitama bears witness to it. He’s far more passionate and attentive whenever his teacher is involved in any way to what he’s doing, in the hopes that perhaps, seeing his disciple taking his role seriously and not missing anything/using his time to slack off, Saitama would take him more seriously in return and tell him the true secret to his strength. (Which he already gave, poor Genos.)
When he’s caught off guard and rendered to near death by his opponents, it wasn’t because he underestimated them: it was because Genos overestimated his own strength, thinking that it was enough to kill them. He treats any and every threat seriously, no matter how weak or strong looking they are. From the meek, gross looking toilet monster, to the horrifying titanic threat that is Elder Centipede, Genos will engage his opponent with the intent of eliminating the threat by any means. He knows that weak looking monsters can house unimaginable strength as a surprise attack, and strong looking monsters could have unexpected powers that could catch him off guard. He’d never laugh or smile during a fight, knowing that his opponent is inherently dangerous and likely to endanger countless lives if they’re not eliminated.
(This is dark, but: he’s also the only member in the trio that’s killed people before, if not the most willing if push comes to shove.)
While he doesn’t care too much about his popularity, he does know that his fan clubs can be a powerful resource and will occasionally (and subtly) cater to them. His main way of doing so is buying himself clothes to make him look handsome (which he does more frequently thanks to the money he gets as an S-class,) and to keep up the ‘mysterious, alluring Cyborg Prince’ persona by refusing interviews and close relations with his fans: basically, by being himself. (Which he is more than willing to do.)
Genos, despite clearly stating his opinions on hero teams, (summary: he thinks they suck) doesn’t actually mind teaming up with other heroes on occasion. He knows that some heroes are capable of doing tasks that he wouldn’t do too well at, or would be able to do at all (especially if it’s ensuring the welfare of a group of people,) and will willingly team up if he thinks it’s for the best. It’s when those heroes make teams that they continuously depend on that he starts losing respect for them.
Inspired by this. One of his favorite clothing brands is Grin and Bears, particularly their men’s hoodies section. Alongside Amai Mask, Genos has occasionally been offered to be sponsored by several clothing brands due to how well he wears his designer clothing.
Genos has a good reason for liking oiled sardines. The food in particular was part of his old life where his family couldn’t afford much, and bought canned food more often than not. Vegetables and breads are nice and cheap, but are fairly bland. Oiled sardines is far more flavorful, and it was one of the first foods that he had tried that wasn’t the former two: unsurprisingly, he soon after became a fan of them.
Garou prefers hearty, nutrient rich foods. While he doesn’t have one favourite meal in particular, well rounded meals that involve vegetables and meats will have him wolfing it down. That includes steaks with nice veggies like potatoes and carrots and salads: it’s fairly balanced and there’s plenty to eat, hence his choice to go to a steak house to replenish his strength.
Don’t give Garou caffeine. He’s batshit insane and bloodthirsty when he’s high on it, and he’s far more irritable than he usually is when he crashes.
Genos doesn’t have fond memories of his birthday. His parents loved him, but would overwork themselves to get him a gift and it made him feel guilty every time, even though he insisted that they don’t go through the trouble. He never made plans to tell Saitama, but that information was included in his registration sheet to the H.A. and it was broadcasted on every talk show and website: needless to say, he caught wind of it. Like the festival, Saitama insists that they celebrate, and while Genos can’t completely shake off his bad experiences of it + fully engage and understand why Saitama is doing this, he’s slowly (somewhat reluctantly) getting more curious on what experiencing a good birthday is like. Saitama got him a cake on sale with a few coupons, and it looks kind of basic and a little corny with the decorations, but Genos still thanks Saitama for it and eats it all the same. Genos doesn’t have a particular favourite flavour in regards to sweets. At least, not yet.
Badd remembers his birthdays somewhat bittersweetly, remembering his younger days: the times where he was surrounded by his family and watching YouTube videos/live sport matches with his friends, digging into fast foods like fish and chips and eating watermelon and ice cream on a hot summer’s day. Those days were gone now, but Zenko and the few friends that stood by his side even when he was swamped with work usually band together to give him a nice day off from fans, school, and the HA to celebrate his birthday. It’s a smaller circle than before, but he still cherishes those who he came to love as his found family and enjoys them, looking back on his past with a hint of nostalgia. His cake is always chocolate with Oreos.
Garou… his birthdays were lonely, and he remembers them bitterly. There was one time where he invited everyone in his class to his party and no one showed up.
This occasion actually happened prior to Tacchan, so while young!Garou was heartbroken, he tried to be optimistic and justified the incident to himself. It’s probably because he doesn’t know everyone that well… Maybe others are busy? Tests were coming up soon and everyone had to study: it’s okay! It makes sense why no one could come! That is, of course, until the obvious happened, and he lost faith in the people around him. Garou never told Bang when his birthday was, and Bang never pried, seeing the bitterness and determination in Garou’s heart to become stronger, and respecting his decision not to tell him. To this day, Garou treats his birthday like any other day, if he still remembers when it was.
Special Request by @rayadraws. How do Garou, Badd, Tareo, and Zenko react to Saitama?
I’ve actually loved her headcanon for Garou being wary and slightly afraid around Saitama at the start! So I believe that’s what he’ll initially be like around him. As time goes on, he’ll slowly relax and be subtly curious about him. Garou will crack jokes and teases from time to time, and while he does think it’s funny when Saitama sulks and complains about the trio teasing him for his baldness from time to time, he can’t stop the brief spike of fear that makes him freeze on instinct when Saitama is visibly angry. It’s an ambivalent situation for Garou: he’ll say no to Saitama asking if he can get something from the store, saying that ‘your tincan disciple can get it himself,’ but the serious, slightly furious face that Saitama puts on has him in silence for a few moments, before letting (forcing) out a seemingly lazy and nonchalant sigh and heading out the door to get it, his heart rate faster than it was a few moments ago.
His dreams can involve Saitama buying the most hideous pair of crocs and sporting a dopey face full of happiness at finding such a great discount, Dream!Garou groaning in disgust and walking away from him to do something else.
His nightmares can involve the feeling of rubber on his neck, slowly choking him as the bald man looks him straight in the eye above him, eyes startlingly dead and empty, daring him to make a move. His face could be replaced with that of a blank faced mannequin and hardly a difference can be seen. Nightmare!Garou remembers escaping somehow, jumping high enough to land himself in the cold, dark, suffocating expanse of space, and thinking to himself that he’d rather die up there rather than come back down to a desolate, barren earth: a lone man waiting to kill him as soon as he enters its atmosphere.
Garou’s relationship with Saitama, at first glance, is a seemingly normal one with the former lazing around his house and eating his food like an inconsiderate houseguest; but his feelings are anything but. As much as he pretends to not care much about Saitama, he’d listen carefully to what he has to say if he’s serious, and is a little more well behaved and observant around him. If Saitama imparts some of his rare pieces of advice, Garou would, on the outside, make a dull and uninterested note of it, but in reality he’d carefully consider his words in private.
- Badd knew that Saitama and Genos are a package deal, but when he found out that Saitama is Genos’s teacher, he’s incredulous.
‘You serious, man? This guy? What’s he even gonna teach ya?’
Seeing Genos’s glower and hours of him chewing out Badd while lavishing praises on sensei’s strength, wisdom, and humility drove home the point to Badd, who was practically groaning in exasperation and telling him that he gets it, just to get Genos to stop berating him. Seeing Saitama’s power finally makes him understand.
He’s somewhat more polite around him now, knowing that this is someone Genos respects, and Badd seeing Saitama living life and just generally being a good guy makes Badd’s opinion of him slowly grow. He sympathises with Saitama’s baldness, and out of the trio, is the least likely to tease him for it: deliberately or not. Badd himself shudders at the thought of losing his beloved pompadour, so he’s usually the one to say ‘quit it, you’re bumming him out’ to Genos whenever he’s unintentionally hurting Saitama’s feelings. Or a simple ‘holy shit Garou, stop’ when Garou makes a melodramatic re-enactment of Saitama’s offended reaction to Konbu’s supposed ‘benefits’ that Genos had informed him of. (Genos mentioned the event, and now they know all about it.)
Tareo, at first, doesn’t recognize him since he usually focuses on the cool heroes. When he finds out Saitama’s hero name, he’s taken aback. ‘You’re the Caped Baldy??’ He asks, with what sounded to be awe.
Apart from internally cringing at the name, Saitama is briefly (and pleasantly surprised) and was about to say yes, before Tareo ran over to Garou and whispered to him (quite loudly) to ‘be careful ojisan! That bald guy over there is bad news!’
(Saitama’s blank face was screwed on for a good 10 seconds.)
He’s wary of Saitama, asking questions such as ‘didn’t you steal credit from other heroes when the sea monsters attacked?’ for some time. It’s through Garou’s, Badd’s, and Genos’s good opinion of the man that Tareo slowly begins to trust that Saitama is a good person. ‘If uncle and his friends thinks he’s nice, maybe he’s not so bad…’
Same with Garou, Tareo refers to him as ‘ojisan.’ ;)c
Zenko… man, the main reason why I took so long creating this post is because I wouldn’t know how Zenko would react until I thought about it carefully.
Like Tareo, she’s wary and slightly antagonistic towards him once she realises who he is, though less so than Tareo since it’s a little difficult to steal credit from an S-Class like him: Metal Bat is one of those heroes who can take down most monsters by himself, so I imagine Zenko wouldn’t be too worried about Caped Baldy taking the credit, but rather, she’d be wary of him trying something else to drag her brother through the mud.
She may not cuss him out, or even outwardly call him a Baldy, but she can be just as strong willed as her brother. Her initial relationship with Saitama can be seen mostly as this:
She does know that while Badd has a hot temper, can be forgetful, and stirs up trouble sometimes, she also knows that he harbours a serious hatred for cowards and self centred cheats that put themselves over others. The fact that Badd isn’t threatening Saitama to (fuck off) leave him and his sister alone reassures her to some extent into believing that maybe the rumors aren’t true: she’s had her share of getting angry on Badd’s behalf when the news or gossip columns twist the truth about her brother, especially in a bad light, so she carefully observes him to see if he’s the person that most people make him out to be.
Like her brother, her opinion of him slowly grows. She’s assertive, but not rude. She won’t call him a Baldy or old man like Tareo or Tatsumaki, no matter how angry she gets. There’s just some buttons you don’t press, and Zenko doesn’t want to become a mean spirited person.
She does get sort of grossed out by some of his clothing choices and will confront him on it sooner or later, saying that ‘Mr Saitama, your clothes look ugly’ and that maybe he should start looking for better ones.
(This is also the perfect opportunity to get her to drag him shopping with her: clothes for the both of them! And she’s definitely going to pick out some clothes for Saitama.
I imagine that at the beginning, her fashion senses were still developing, and while she has her heart in the right place, it was a hit(?) or miss at the time. It gets way better later on, and she’s a little fashionista! Makeup and clothing are sure to look good on you when she picks them out herself~ But for this headcanon, you can decide if her fashion senses are more polished, or are still in development. Saitama’s fate of looking good/bad is up to you. ;3c)
Shared Traits
Badd doesn’t use any sort of weird quirk for how he texts. His source for punctuation is autocorrect and never exactly uses full stops unless he’s having a serious conversation: but even then, it’s fairly uncommon.
But he does use words and slangs like ‘dude’ and shortened words like ‘y’all.’
His swears are more relaxed in text, but only because you can’t hear his rough voice saying them; either way, he usually isn’t actually trying to intimidate you. When he gets angry, however, you can definitely feel the threats, the intimidation, and the tightly leashed anger dripping off of his words just as much as when he says them in person. If he’s angry, you’ll know it.
If he has time and is invested in a conversation, he likes using the occasional gif or emoticon but isn’t obnoxious with it.
Sometimes when he’s busy and doesn’t care, he uses all caps because he doesn’t want to deal with his words being autocorrected to something else. This is usually seen when he’s about to get into a fight.
When you ask him where he is when he’s out, he’s equally likely to text you the name of the place, or send you a photo of where he is.
When it’s a photo of Zenko, especially if it’s her with a prize or a trophy or a doll and she’s being cute, he spams hearts and praises of her.
Genos has perfect punctuation and grammar.
You know that annoying moment when the person you’re texting seemingly is texting a long ass message, only for it to come out as something like ‘ok’? Yeah… Genos never does that. (Unless he wants to say something important (and likely very personal) but is too reluctant to say it, and opts for something more mundane.)
He sends entire paragraphs if he’s explaining something or debriefing someone on some information.
His sentences are curt if he’s busy. It’ll come off as cold and rude to most people when they read them.
His recent emojis section has all the ones he can just text quickly if he’s far too busy to make sentences. Handy if he only has one arm or taking a breather from a monster fight.
Garou does not use autocorrect.
He’s obnoxious when he texts.
Memes, gifs, I wIlL bEaT tHe HeRo HuNtEr (With the spongebob meme template: specifically designed to mock heroes and wannabes who think they can take him down), spamming ‘answer me bitch’ to his poor recipient over and over until they reply, using so. Many. Emojis. For the sole purpose of annoying you.
If he’s texting Tareo, he’s pretty casual.
Hey lil turd I got some coupons for ice cream
I hate ice cream
Take them or im throwing them out
The no brainer: Genos and Garou are masters at eating competitions. Garou wolfs it all down quickly, whilst Genos is more dignified about how he eats, if the super spicy udon competition he had with Saitama is any indication. Badd can keep up, (mama didn’t raise no quitter!) but he’ll be struggling to get a grip on himself and stay awake.
If he wanted to, Genos can keep on eating for an extended period of time, limited only by the capacity of his fuel engines. (Which, by our stomach’s standards, is practically infinite for how much he can eat in so short a time and still keep going for hours.) His body can essentially turn the foods and drinks he ingests either into nutrients for the brain, or fuel for his firepower: continuously keeping his engines active will digest what he eats on a semi-fast level.
If the trio do end up becoming friends in canon, I imagine that they’d pick up on each other’s traits subconsciously. Badd’s and Genos’s smirks are faint facsimiles of Garou’s. Badd and Garou take after Genos’s protectiveness over items on sale at the supermarket, knowing how rare the occasion can be to get discounts for some in particular. Genos and Garou say ‘haah?’ in an intimidating manner, on instinct, to people they don’t like thanks to Badd. And of course, all three swear more often, usually under their breaths whenever something goes wrong, or to quietly insult someone without causing a scene.
It’s pretty obvious that Genos prefers slim fitting clothing. Anything too baggy will catch/snag and tear on his surroundings and hinder his ability to use his weapons. Badd prefers slightly loose clothing since he’s pretty hot tempered and he gets worked up for fights pretty easily, and clammy clothes aren’t exactly comfortable. Garou is a mix of both: when it comes to clothing, it’s either the clothes are light and form fitting enough to be second skin so he doesn’t have to worry about it snagging, or the clothes are just the right amount of loose to make him look decent, but not like he’s wearing painted on clothing. He’s alright with either option. Emphasis on form fitting. He canonically hates clothes that restrict his movements, and his usual shirt is made of normal, lightweight fabric, so Garou won’t be too keen on the idea of wearing a skin tight bodysuit made of latex or leather.

aaron rambles: an anthology @of-boxes-and-ufos
It’s super interesting!! Honestly, I think it’s just a lack of seeing what Qbby can do. Because you said it! Who wouldn’t underestimate Qbby? Especially when you, a beloved cosmos-renowned goddess, are met with a box of hardened self-replicating tofu. She thinks nothing overly significant of him and sees him as a nice time waster when she’s bored. When she feels the need to play with something. Now, I can’t speak entirely on the behalf of Geno, that’s all Nikki’s ballpark, but if I were to guess, Geno still has some modesty to him. He knows he’s good, but he doesn’t have that awful complex like Rosalina. He’s done amazing things, but he’s not THE head honcho. There’s humility in him for characters like Qbby.
But to Rosalina, who has spent centuries as The Highest There Is, Qbby is a Plan B friend. You don’t wanna be a Plan B friend, because if you’re a Plan B friend, you’re not friends at all.
Rosalina’s love is genuine for the majority of the people she interacts with, but there are few she just sees as comic relief. Something to toy with and give a hollowed sense of attention to. It’s not loving, it’s a fascination, an intrigue. And my reference for this is always Ro.se Q.uar.tz’s views of Gr.eg from St.eve.n Un.ive.rse. Like, when starting out, he was her boy toy and nothing else, and I certainly took inspiration from that with Rosalina.
With Geno, it’s authentic and pure, she’d do anything for him. She’s been with him since the beginning and has seen what he could do. He’s gotten her respect, earned it. Qbby? Mm, not so much. Geno grew up from the rough and rowdy kid that wanted to be something great and Actually Became Something Great. Rosalina would entrust her life in his hands. Qbby is still just some kid wishing they could kick it in the big leagues... You beat the Black Mist, super cool, but... any of the people she knows could’ve done that? It’s cool that you did! But, y’know... she’s seen better.
At the end of the day, Rosalina can acknowledge that he’s done some good, but you’re gonna have to flesh out that résumé before she starts taking you seriously.
