Recently became just a big fan, HUGE, of characters who do PLENTY awful things, they are VILLAINS, but they don't mistreat their family. They don't abuse them and do love them

From William Afton to Von Karma it's nice to reread supernova and have this from Supernova

So so SO important to me that this book makes this clarification when Ace's character changes so drastically. Clarifying that, No. This is not what Ace is usually like. This frightens Nova, this isn't normal

Just. So interesting that we KNOW that he cared for Nova, and it showed, Nova felt cared for. And I'm glad it's there so the betrayal is that much more shocking!

Anyway, haven't come across it yet on AO3 I don't think but if I find anyone arguing that Ace abused her I will be putting up fists willing to discuss and have this as a strong piece of evidence (/jjjj)

#i think abt nova's time with the anarchists and i genuinely think the story is better if she WASN'T just secretly abused #i LIKE that canon implies the worst of her hardship came from the fact she was in hiding with the anarchists #not bc of anything they might have done to her #i dunno where this came from tbh i think i saw a comment somewhere else but uh #in case it needs to be said i like it more if nova's loved and then faces backlash from her villain family when shes doubting them #ace's got interesting issues with betrayal that id love to be fleshed out more with more parallels with maggie in future books #and those issues with betrayal echo a little bit with the other anarchists #taking Nova's new stance in different ways #with ace taking it the worst (tying with honey) to leroy taking it the best #still stand by that Honey's betrayal would have been so much better if it was framed as a sort of Mother Knows Best deal #bringing back the love she's shown before and twisting it into something significantly darker #THAT would have made her different from ingrid #also nvm its between winston and leroy abt who took her betrayal better leaning winston #supernova marissa meyer #renegades trilogy #the renegades trilogy #renegades fandom #renegades #marissa meyer #nova artino #ace anarchy #alec artino
