#i think a lot of people on tumblr would probably like and support Jill Stein or RFK jr depending on how you lean

Im truly no expert, but please look at other political parties and consider voting for the person you actually believe in.. In my opinion, between the democratic and republican candidates, there is no lesser of two evils, and continuing to support this two party system for the sake of that thought process is not helping.

I like your blog :)) I'm curious tho why do you like colbert? he and the other Daily Show folks are like, so... liberal, they're funny so I watch them sometimes but I always feel uncomfortable because of it
Well, back when I was a liberal 14 year old, I found him and The Daily Show and began watching them cuz I saw their popular gifsets get reblogged on tumblr and I was like “oh hey that’s them, I should give it a shot!” and then i got hooked immediately. He has that weird sense of humor I like, and all his work is pretty gay (i honest to god don’t think he’s ever played a straight character) so i like that too. When I started reading his interviews, he always seemed very warm and down-to-earth, I started relating a lot because he was also a depressed young person who went through a lot of shit as well... the GQ interview ESPECIALLY made me emotional. He’s always super nice to people and friends and celebrities who had met him would always be singing his praises, and i got to go see him live last year so i can confirm he’s an angel as well! His Catholicism played a big role in his life, and he was raised in the best way with religion you could possibly be, so he’s the most chill and tolerant Catholic I’ve ever seen and he’s what finally got my head out of my ass about being one of those atheists who believes they’re morally superior. He’s God-loving rather than God-fearing, that makes a huge difference, and as an atheist I always love when he talks about his religion. The teenage years of my life have been by far the most depressing I’ve ever experienced, and there were times I felt alienated by all of my friends and family, but he was always there on the TV each night to calm me down, even if I had been bawling my eyes out he’d never fail to cheer me up and get me to laugh. He got me through the hardest years of my life, and is still getting me through them. Basically, he’s the best coping mechanism I have, and when I find a good coping mechanism I cling onto it for dear life and never let go (Toontown is the longest one I’ve had, I still play it as much as I can after 7 years). But yeah I get where you’re coming from about the liberalism, some of the jokes on the show bug me as well, but I honestly think that’s more of the writers than Stephen himself... he did an NPR interview last year where he basically said hillary was a shit candidate and the only person he could see her winning against would be trump (R.I.P), and i’ve noticed he hasn’t really shilled for her quite as hard as the other liberal talk show hosts have. When I saw Seth Meyers rip into Bernie or Bust people and when I saw Samantha Bee rip into Bernie supporters and call them “irresponsible, immature, misogynistic”, etc. I didn’t see Stephen do that. I remember when he had a guest on his show who said they were gonna vote for Jill Stein and he never once shat on the dude for it (which i feel the others ones probably would have), he just had a level-headed conversation with him about it and took him seriously, and was calm and respectful the whole time. He’s said the reason he likes political satire so much is because politicians say one thing and then do another, regardless of what party they’re affiliated with. He knows how to think for himself, and he always struck me as someone who probably voted Bernie in the primaries. There’s a rumor that he has an actor friend who said he was staunchly pro-Bernie during the primaries, and I believe it. Also at my taping, he did a Takes The Gloves Off segment about hillary and roasted her and that was fun for me. Seeing his writers’ personalities vs his, they seem WAY more liberal. He’ll criticize anyone, although admittedly mostly Republicans because that’s what the audience wants. He’s also very generous as well and donated $800,000 a few years ago to fund literally every school project in the state of South Carolina on donorschoose and I love him for that too. He’s also cute af, and that doesn’t hurt either.
