aight ok so gundam has a less strong reaction towards movies (unless it’s animal related, he will then fall to his knees and start monologuing) (or he will start bawling his eyes out if it's sad). kazuichi my boy, on the other hand, is a major pussy. his reactions are always pure and utter raw emotion, if it's scary he will shit his pants, if it's sad he will be a destroyed sobbing mess, etc. etc. it's literally just souda being souda.

gundam's favorite genre is horror, cuz ooh spooky and nice film direction, while kazuichi obv likes action and comedy and what not. (i'd also like to think both of them like animated movies/shows/TV in general, since they probably grew up with it so they bond over that too) gundam's not as fond of comedy but will watch it because he likes seeing kazuichi giggle and laugh and just having fun :,,,,3

Komaru Naegi - Makoto's Hostage -Was the second in command to Makoto's gang, the Lucky Clover's, however when he left for Hope's Peak she very much became the new leader. Definetly not having a good day right now.

Yuta Asahina - Aoi's Hostage -Lucky Clover's 3rd in command, wears an eyepatch just because he thinks he looks cool.

-Sees the Naegi's as family, and in turn it led to Hina and Makoto having friction's for a while in Hope's Peak (reason for her murder in case 2 of THH)

-Joins Komaru waaaay earlier, and spends a bit of time with her until he DIES (y'know, for plot!)

-Misses his sister so much

Takemichi Yukimaru "Defectokuma" - Escapee -Due to Daiya being alive and taken as Mondo's Hostage, Takemichi managed to escape, barely, and when the Remants attack the city, Takemichi is captured and locked into a Monokuma head, however it appears the artifact doesn't work properly, as he doesn't attack and seems to appear just out of it. Komaru encounters him in the camp, and becomes a companion for a while.

So UDG still follows Komaru, however she's trying to figure out what happened to her brother unsure if he's even alive (he's not), along the way she'll help to capture the Remnants of Despair and save the other hostages (if she can)

Since I don't think we share any other fandoms, Danganronpa it is!

1.) the character everyone gets wrong

There are so many, since I suspect the reading comprehension of the average Danganronpa fan is subpar. (If I haven't blocked you, then this jab isn't at you, dw.)

But Mikan is the most glaring. People take her defense mechanisms at face value, and write her inner monologues the same way as they write her dialogues. No way is she consistently that nice. She knows shes a doormat. I perceive that Ch3 is closer to her true feelings than 99% of the fandom thinks, even if Junko undoubtedly makes her worse.

2.) a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom

I'm not really that into the PWP aspects of fandom, but pre-sauna scene lines heavily imply that Taka is the top here. You'd think that'd be the fandom default, but nah.

Also, bottom not equal submissive, but most bottom Kokichi fics are WILDLY OOC. If he bottoms, he's bratty and a pillow princess not "uwu soft boy".

hmm. Danganronpa isn't pro incest since Kiyo's backstory is made up by Tsumugi. Okay then, explain Dr3 Mukuro. Explain Leon's FTEs. Explain the multiple pretty heavily implied ships where they call each other siblings. (Looking at you, Soapies and Ishimondo.) Explain why Kodaka CHOOSE to have Tsumugi pick that specifically for his backstory.

4.) what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

I cannot stand a lot of the people that headcanon Chihiro as trans (I do too, I just dislike the other fans) and act like its fucking canon, when it explicitly isn't. Is it a highly trans-coded narrative? Yes. Is it squicky to some people for that reason, yes. Are people being transphobic for enjoying what actually happened in canon? No you dumbass.

There are a few aspects that ultimately drove me to read the manga for a sense of resolution and, since I can't be sure what you liked most about the show, I've included a mixed bag that I hope you'll like! Coming out the gates with an Elfen Lied recommendation is probably ill advised given the controversial way the series has aged (I had to save it for last on this list). But if you're looking to sate the need for gratuitous blood and shock value from the new and interesting fates suffered by prisoners and Deadmen alike, this is probably the way to go. The story follows an escaped survivor of inhumane experimentation who leaves behind a trail of bloody and decapitated bodies. Such is the revenge of Lucy, the Diclonius female lead, who, in her great escape, suffers a debilitating injury that causes an interesting divergence in personality.

If you liked the idea of the Deadman Wonderland fights spawned from the bloody extension of each fighters' body? Might be worth checking out Blood Blockade Battlefront. Not quite as dystopian as DW (and subsequently a bit more lighthearted), BBB takes place in what used to be New York where magic and monsters are policed by an underground crime fighting organization known as Libra. Members of the force tend to have supernatural powers that make them uniquely qualified to keep up with the nefarious forces that operate just below the surface of Hellsalem's Lot.

Danganronpa (series)

Admittedly, Danganronpa can be a bit confusing to watch. You're just kind of dropped into the middle of the story and have to watch as a group of people (in this case, students) are forced to kill one another for the sake of living to see another day. Sound familiar? Without spoiling too much, I think Danganronpa shares a few other key ingredients with Deadman Wonderland which include fatal punishments, sensationalized violence (arguable), and an inescapable game.

For the Philosophical Question

Ajin: Demi Human (series)

Deadman Wonderland is interesting because there are several levels of conspiracy. Immediately, you have the POV of the everyday person who can spectate the prisoners at Deadman Wonderland. Then you drop down a layer and discover some of the dead or missing prisoners are actually in a fight to the death as Deadmen, something even high level prison guards aren't aware of but enjoyed, nonetheless, by elite members of society. Without spoiling too much for readers who haven't finished DW, we see, deeper still, there's an even more nefarious plot at play. It compounds the hopelessness the Deadmen feel as, how can you get help for a situation most people don't even know exist? It takes morality out of the equation when all those imprisoned are presumably guilty of crimes. It's why the spectacle of their suffering can be enjoyed by general onlookers. The Deadmen in G Block serve a "life sentence" for possessing a Branch of Sin, regardless of the crime that got them there which almost supports the idea that their power makes them too dangerous to be released. Subsequently the violence of their game and general treatment are considered in line for someone already dead.

I think Ajin hits a few of these notes by begging the question: what does it mean to be human? Similar to Deadman Wonderland, you see an overpowered derivative of the human genome that is oppressed by the larger, weaker population. Their humanity is in question but the cruelty of the other humans toward them show that anyone is capable of being a monster. I think Ajin: Demi Human explores different cause and effect of this phenomenon on human nature through the motivation and journey of each of the main cast of characters, notably: Kei Nagai, Satou and Kouji Tanaka.

Battle Royale walked so The Hunger Games could run and earned the stake of its own genre by the same name. Katarina was aware that her talent was a bit…unusual? Like there weren’t likely to be many other people who had that talent. But that was fine with her; she loved what she did.

She put so much work and effort into being a farmer and tending to her crops, she didn’t care what other people thought about it. She was content with keeping up the hard work.

Usually she’ll show up to class with dirt on her clothes somewhere, even though she has clothes she wears specifically for farming. Even she doesn’t know how the dirt gets there.

Additionally, because she’s always up very early to work, she goes to bed at a decent hour so she can have plenty of sleep. She doesn’t mind that this sometimes means she misses class events.

Working hard on anything feels great, but especially the physical labor that came with being a farmer. Katarina couldn’t imagine any better way for her to spend her life!
