Mortimer Goth

Whenever I run out of gameplay inspiration I either end up playing the Bheedas again or makeover Ophelia Villa. Today I started on another makeover of Ophelia Villa 👍 I've sort of ended up liking how it's squished onto a lot that seems too small for the house, so I made the house a bit taller to emphasise it more.

First Floor

Ground Floor

I've figured out what was wrong with the floorplan for Umbrage Manor. Despite the beautiful symmetry on the outside of the lot, the inside was one tile too thin so couldn't be split up evenly. This explains the odd tiny kitchen, and the weird shaped rooms.

I've redone the floor plan. I'm not 100% happy with it, so it'll most certainly evolve as I start decorating.

Happy with how the outside is starting to look though!

I haven't started working on the landscaping yet. I normally do that halfway through decorating the inside when I need a change of pace.

I also need to think about a family to go in this house...

Pendula View now has a nice aesthetic going on! Umbrage Manor is fitting in nicely with Ophelia Villa and Parkshore.

The Goths: A Rebrand

I haven’t played the Goths since I first played the original Sims. But my new save is all aristocrats and I’ve enjoyed adding them in. So here’s a makeover with a little bit of story telling below the cut. 

Mortimer ~ Fine Jewellery Specialist

The Goths made their fortune long ago by becoming craftsmen of some of the world’s finest jewellery, eventually earning a Royal Warrant from the royal family. As humble beginnings turned into “Old Money”, their legacy was passed down from generation to generation and the family became renowned not just for producing exquisite jewels but also impressive intellectuals with a flair for the fine arts.

Mortimer Goth embodies all these qualities, yet his biggest talent lies in loving his (seemingly never-aging) wife, Bella. From the second those kids set eyes on one another, they knew they had found their fellow weirdo, and it wasn’t long before they had created a tightknit family of oddballs to call their own. Years passed and Mortimer settled happily into the “cool dad” role, enjoying the company of his two children even more as they became capable of engaging in fiery debates of world topics across the dinner table. But now, with a surprise new rambunctious addition to the household, Mortimer doubts his ability to revert back to the days of endless bottles and dirty diapers. With his beloved Bella by his side, this feeling will pass... surely?

Bella ~ Private Psychic Reader

A talented psychic since the tender age of ten, life’s mysteries have no place to hide when faced with Bella Goth. Cast aside by her own sinfully boring family, Bella’s fears that she would never find anyone accepting of her gifts were put to rest when she found solace with the Goths. Here, her eccentricities were celebrated and she could fully be her beautifully strange self.

After marrying Mortimer, Bella was keen to start rebuilding her family right away; she would have had twenty children if she could. Filling the rooms of Ophelia Villa with music, chattering and laughter has been all she’s ever wanted. And although the arrival of their new son, Jasper, may have come as a big surprise to the rest of the family, of course, it wasn’t news to her. She’d been sitting on the information for quite some time thanks to her friends on the other side. 

Now, her friends warn that her dear, sweet Cassandra may be leaving them soon and Bella is thankful for the toddler-sized distraction.

Cassandra ~ Paranormal Investigator

Cassandra Goth is a keen pianist set to follow in her mother’s footsteps by indulging in her supernatural curiosities. Sure, her business isn’t quite taking off in Willow Creek just yet, but when the next person needs a trapped spirit reasoning with, she’ll be ready with her keyboard and microphone. Not even demons can resist a good singalong.

Ever the school bully’s favourite target, Cassandra grew up knowing her family were anything but ordinary. She’s tried to embrace it, she never minded being different after all, however now there’s a snag. She longs for the romance she’s watched radiating from her parents her entire life. But throwing herself into the world of blind dating has hit her with never ending curveballs and stepping out of her treasured comfort zone is bringing on a lot of self-doubt. Perhaps it’s time for a big change before it’s too late.

Alexander ~ High School D Student

Kind. Dependable. Alexander Goth is the perfect son and friend, even if he’s never around them for very long. Constantly restless, he’s always eager to turn his hand to something different and his room is crammed with traces of mastered and abandoned hobbies – from robotics to climbing, painting to programming. Oh, and he’s also an avid member of the local wrestling team.

So, with such a long list of extra curriculars, Alex must be a prime university candidate, right? Well, not exactly. The regime of school never appealed to him and he can’t sit still long enough to ever get his homework done. His sense of adventure is telling him the family jewellery empire just isn’t for him; it might be time to follow his feet elsewhere. Mount Komorebi sure sounds tempting…

Jasper

Nicknamed “Boo!” for his surprise appearance, Jasper Goth has landed himself in quite a bit of luck. With a family fortune, at least one doting parent, and two siblings old enough to find him cute rather than annoying, Jasper is set for a good while. 

But it looks like it might eventually fall to him to carry on the family business. Will he rise to the challenge, or could the Goth legacy be heading down an entirely different path?

The Oasis Springs Crash

Before Alexander and Clementine leave to start Phase One of Operation: Save Bella Goth (named so eloquently by Clementine), she wants to ask the alien man at the crash site a few questions.

"Give me a second, Alex, I'm gonna interrogate this guy."

"Why?" He asks. "He's got nothing to do with the investigation."

"I know. But he seems like a nice fellow, I just need to figure out a few things. Watch and learn, nerd."

Alexander rolls his eyes as Clem walks up to alien guy. He hopes this is worth it.

Clem strolls right up to the alien and says, "What's your name? I'm Clementine."

The alien looks at her, confused, and responds with, "Umm... it's Johnny. Johnny Smith."

"Cool name, mister." Clementine smiles. "I have to do this research paper for school and was wondering if you could answer a questions?"

Johnny shrugs. "I mean, sure. I have time."

"Great! So, you know anything about this place? Do you know who crashed here?"

He shakes his head. "No, can't say I do. My dad knows more about alien current events than me, though. He says whoever was driving it didn't know what they were doing. It was probably some guy who had a little too much juice."

This gets Clementine thinking. "Well, thanks for your time. See ya!"

She runs back to Alexander, leaving Johnny in the dust confused.

TS3 to TS4 - Sunset Valley Save DOWNLOAD

Here it is my Sunset Valley Save! it’s not perfect, but I did what I could. there is no Genealogy here because that would take me too much time and the ts3 wiki is not as good as the one for ts2. So a lot of info is missing.

SV is divided between Willow Creek & Newcrest. I couldn’t recreate Villa Alto & the Landgraab Estate since there aren’t lots big enough for them (see the pic)

There are both the families from the original Sunset Valley and a bunch of townies. For the families, traits, aspirations, relationships, careers, and starting funds are as close as the original as I could get.

Starlight (Episode 6)

Tuesday at lunch Tess tells me that we are all heading to Cassandra Goth's house after school to work on our Simplish essays that are due in Friday. I hate going to Cassie's house, it gives me creeps.  Cassie lives in a spacious, three bedroom home in Willow Creek. The house is so ancient  it even has its own  title "Ophelia Villa" and I believe strongly that it's haunted by Cassandra's ancestors, I've often heard conversations between spirits there when no one else has been around. Tess thinks it's Cassie's younger brother, Alexander, playing tricks but you can't fake what I heard there. I vowed that I was never going back there but there I was boarding a bus to Willow Creek on Tuesday afternoon with Tess, Declan, Sam and Cassie.

Cassie's mother, Bella Goth greets us at the door, "I've set out a plate of cookies in the formal dinning room" she announces, Tess and I exchange looks knowing there's no way that Bella baked those cookies herself, she would of had the maid or the live in chef bake them but would never let that slip.

The Goth's are aristocrats, "Old Money" as my mother Ruth tells it and one of the most wealthiest families not only in Willow Creek but throughout the whole state. Cassandra is in no way snobby though, she's probably one of the most down-to-earth people you'd ever meet. She keeps her shoulder length black hair in two pigtails and dresses mainly in dark t-shirts and mini skirts, she's stylish without much effort.

We settle in at the dinning table and open our folders and then it starts, the debrief about our school day.

"Mr Landgraab gave that speech again today" Declan says

"The one about how 'This is the most important year of your life year 12' and that we 'shouldn't waste a minute of it' he loves giving that speech" Tess asks, bursting into fits of laughter.

"Yep, that's the one but he also threw in a second verse today and it went like this, 'the decisions you make this year will effect your futures for years to come' " Declan adds

"Oh no pressure or anything" I say sarcastically and we all laugh.

We get it, year 12 is one of our biggest years in our lives, it's our last year of high school, next year we will either go off to university or enter the work force but the way our teachers and parents talk you would think it's the be all and end all.

"Our Step Dad has been putting the pressure on at home too" I explain "It's like if we haven't completed our homework by 8pm then we will automatically fail and have to work at Chez Llama until we die"

"Doesn't He work at Chez Llama though?" Cassie asks

"He now owns Chez Llama, he bought it about 5 years ago when the old owners retired" Tess explains.

"Well even so, he shouldn't be telling you that these are your only options, go to university or become a waitress at one of the finest restaurants in Forgotten Hollow" Sam says, sounding slightly offended. Sam attends Brighton High School on a sporting scholarship, he's an awesome soccer player but he has to work extremely hard to keep his grades up, if he was to fall below a "B" grade he could lose his scholarship.

"Daddy wants me to study business at University, so I can follow in the family footsteps" Cassie says with gloom in her tone.

"What do you want to do?" I ask her

"Fashion" she announces, "What about you?"

"Don and My mother want me to study medicine but I want to study Veterinary, I love animals" I tell her

"What about you Tess?" Cassie asks

"I'm going to study drama and become a famous actress and no man, not even Don Lothario, is going to tell me I can't" Tess announces with strong conviction.

Tess has always wanted to be an actress, she talks of "moving to Del Sol Valley and getting discovered just walking down the street".

"And what about you Declan? What are you going to do? Play soccer with Sam for the Llamas or..." I ask, Declan doesn't talk much really so I've never heard him talk about future plans.

"Im going to study law" He tells us

"Well that will come in handy for when Tess needs to sue the paparazzi for stalking her" I tell him and everyone laughs.

Tess announces to the group that Declan is joining our personal training sessions, "so I no longer have to feel like a third wheel with Zoey and her sexy boyfriend"

"ZOEY!!!! You didn't even mention you and Angus were together, like it was pretty obvious on Friday night that it was going to happen but as your best friends we do deserves to be updated about major life decisions" Cassie says as she's hugging me.

"Sorry, I didn't think it would really interest anyone" I apologise

"Are you kidding?"Cassie squeals "We have had to sit through Tess and Declan's love fest for the past 3 years and no offence to them but I am in major need of living vicariously through a hot romance because lets face it, Sam here is never going to cotton on that I'm into him"

Sam, head buried deep in his folder, writing his essay, looks up at the mention of his name, "What?" he asks us....he hasn't heard a word

Cassie looks at me "See? Nothing!"

By the end of our study session it was decided that Cassie would also be joining our training group in the hopes that "She could find a muscly clad hot twenty something that would look good on her arm at the year 12 formal".

I rang Angus on the bus ride home to inform him that Cassie would also be joining our group

"Sounds good babe, I'll cook dinner for the group after tomorrows session, that way I can get to know everyone a bit better" He offers and I accept, Im so excited for Angus to get to know my friends

So like I said, I’ve started to renovate all the worlds in the game from premade lots from the Gallery. I will list who made them to give them credit because I did not renovate them. The lots were all the same as before and same name except for empty lots, I put whatever I liked.

I started with the first world on the map.

As you can tell I seem to have a favorite downloader. lilsimsie has renovated every lot in the game herself and I really like them, so you’ll be seeing more of her stuff. There are others too. Look forward to it.

I'm Back!

Is this thing still on?

I ended up taking a longer break than I planned for various reasons.

Still, nearly two years later I'm back! A lot happened in the past two years, including a two new cats, and then a little kitten being born. I finished my Uni term and ended up taking a break from that too...

I've gradually been loading back up my sims games, but I've mainly been playing Sims 4, and I think that that is the game that I'm going to be focusing on. I love Sims 2, it's my favourite game by far, but I have various reasons to want to move on from it. That's not to say I'm never going to create for that game again, but for now Sims 2 is on a hiatus.

This past weekend I started working on making over Willow Creek, and I started tackling Ophelia Villa. So far I'm really please with how it is turning out.

I had fun trying with the new Castle Kit, and I also took inspiration from the Sims 2 Goth Mansion with the flat top roof.
