The offense classes receiving a love letter from you
I'm splitting this one up into the different classes so I can spread out my content because I'm kinda running out of ideas. I'm not sure when to put Miss Pauling for this so maybe that'll be it own fanfic!
TW: Ask to tag
Scout
Oh man oh man! He's so stoked that someone likes him enough to confess to him! It's a huge ego boost. But who wrote it? He finds it cute that his admirer was to shy to confess to him face to face. It's all he thinks about. You can find him staring off into space just thinking about the letter. He will do his best to figure out who wrote it, which is usually just him re-reading it a bunch until he's got it mesmerized by heart. Keeps it tucked away under his pillow because no one else needs to see it! It's his own personal letter that you wrote and he doesn't need to be teased about it. He will try to snoop around to see if anyone has the same paper you used for the letter. He usually gets caught but that doesn't stop him. It takes around a week and a half to connect the dots. After he actually figures it out he spends at least a day just acting like a school girl after she got asked out by her crush. Despite Scout being so cocky and confident about everything else in life he has a hard time just asking you out. He tries to just do some small gestures to show you that he knows now but he's worried it'll be interpreted as creepy. So after some thinking and planning he writes you his own note! He spends a ridiculous amount of time perfecting it before leaving it placed in your room. He's nervous the whole time, just waiting for you to read it. He suggested to meet up with you in a secluded spot away from everyone else but what if you think it's just some prank? What if you think he's planning something malicious? What if you were just messing with him? Scout eventually sucks it up and goes to meet you. He's surprised to see you there first, but then feels guilty for making you wait. He feels really awkward, so you have to make the first move. After a bit of talking and a quick peck on the cheek you swear you see hearts in his eyes whenever he sees you.
Pyro
Well this is a first! They've gotten note written for them before but never a love letter! He's absolutely over joyed! That letter seems to be the only thing on their mind, aside from fire. Every chance they get they will re-read the letter doesn't matter when or where, even in front of others! They take notice of the beautiful fire-y yellow and orange wax that held the letter closed. They often just stare at it for hours on end. You feel flattered that they enjoy the effort you out into it, makes your heart flutter. They accidentally catch you staring at them sometimes but they don't think much of it since they stare at you too. You notice that even after the fact it's been around 2 weeks that Pyro hasn't really done anything to figure out who wrote it. So it was time for you to take measures into your own hands, even though that went against writing a letter in the first place. After taking a few hours to write a letter that was very obviously from you, you went to pour the melted wax for the seal. At that very second Pyro busted his way in to tell you they figured out that it was you who wrote the letter! Their student entrance scared you so much that you spilt the hot wax on your hand and knocked over the flame that melted the wax right onto the letter. In the panic you didn't even feel the hot wax on your hand, you were just so focused on saving the letter that you went to put it out with your hands. Pyro quickly intervened before you could touch the growing fire with your bare hands and put it out with a loud slap from their gloved hand. After you calmed down from the threat of your desk catching in fire you could finally notice the pain in your left hand. A small bit of worry bubbled in your stomach but Pyro reassured you that they knew how to help. Considering they're the expert in pretty much everything related to heat you trusted them. Following them to the kitchen they motioned for you to sit on the counter while they searched in the cupboards for something. Sure the hot was didn't hurt all that much but you were concerned with actually getting it off. They placed a bottle of olive oil and a roll of paper towels next to you. You figured it would be best not to question it. They dampened a pall of paper towel with olive oil then pressed it against your skin. After around a minute they easily wiped away the wax. You hugged them tightly as a thank you for helping you. They wrapped their arms around you tightly and swung you around in a circle. After they that followed you like a love sick puppy, constantly holding onto you in some way.
Soldier
He expected the note to be another angry letter from Merasmus or maybe someone else. He wasn't expecting it to be a confession of love. He gets very flustered once he reads it, but still thinks it might be some sort trick. And what's the best way to figure out if this love letter if genuine or not? Interrogate everyone until someone confesses! It's not as successful as he wanted it to be, as no one actually came to the big interrogation. You felt nervous because you really didn't the while base to know about the letter. You have to sneak around him so he doesn't suspect you but that does the opposite of what you wanted. Scares the living daylights out of you during breakfast demanding an interrogation. You don't really have much of a choice since he's already dragging you away. RIP to your breakfast because it was dragged off the table. It will be missed. Anyway, Soldier had dragged you into some interrogation room. When was this built? You realize it's just a room Solder redecorated to look like one of those interrogation rooms from a cheesy cop show. It was a bit scary but you knew nothing bad would happen. It was all going good, just him asking you questions about why you were being so sneaky. When suddenly a little raccoon came running in with a neatly folded piece of paper in its mouth. Soldier took the piece of paper and thanked the raccoon before turning his attention back to you. A small pool of nervous-ness built inside you. But why should you worry, this is what you wanted right? Well... you would prefer something less intimidating. Knowing Soldier you didn't really know what he was thinking, he looked so serious. He started asking you about the note which you decided to out right confess to writing, what could you lose? Suddenly his seriousness disappeared and was replaced with pure joy. He dragged you over the table in a hug, dragging you down to the floor. Your nervousness was quickly replaced with relief and happiness. The silence in the room was replaced with his and your laughter.

Say, we all know how much Muds likes spending time with his favorite blue-haired twit. What lengths do you suppose Muds will go to snag some quality time? Putting up with Stu's oddly endearing, yet still rather annoying quirks? Constantly making excuses to Russ even though Russ can see right through it all? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
I don’t think he needed excuses in the early days: I think they sincerely liked spending time together, particularly to get high. Since Murdoc always had good weed, Phase 1 and even 2, they spent a lot of time together quite willingly.
If he needed an excuse to be with 2D, Murdoc could pull the whole “well, he’s my ward and I gotta keep him safe since he hit his head in that accident and all” and everyone knows how transparent that line of reasoning is, but Russel was always too polite to say anything. Noodle? Well, when she gets a little older, she’s not afraid to call him out in his behavior, she’s bold like that.
I think the struggle comes later in their relationship once 2D develops a bit more confidence and autonomy. He’s no longer prepared to drop whatever task he’s doing to spend time with Murdoc, so now Murdoc has to watch 2D finish his yoga routine, or disassemble his keyboards in absolute silence, or help him learn to do a full hand-stand (2D maintains this is vital for getting the creative juices flowing). He also insists on trying some “trust exercises” like trust falls with Murdoc. This all feels like an enormous waste of time when Murdoc has carried him home from clubs at daybreak plenty of times. That is trust! But 2D won't hear of it.
Just a few other things he’s had to endure before 2D was “ready” to chat or hang out or smoke with him? Murdoc once had to wander the property with him, scouting the treetops for birds. 2D insisted that he’d seen a colorful parrot, and Murdoc was saying he’d probably just seen a robin, but 2D maintained he knew what he had seen. By sundown, no parrot spotted. Another time, Murdoc ended up painting 2D’s nails for him, and was promptly told that Noodle paints them way better. Murdoc has begrudgingly tagged along to yard sales where 2D was hoping to buy some vintage plastic figurines of cartoon heroes he liked.
And naturally, he’s had to endure lots of “you can stay, but make yourself useful and grab your iPad” and then he’s had to record lots of “Detroit 2.0″-type songs with 2D. Sonically, Murdoc is really past that sort of thing, but 2D still enjoys them.
At the end of the day, a lot of 2D’s quirky traits and habits can certainly be annoying to deal with, but Murdoc endures it all in the name of getting 2D’s undivided attention. Because once that singer is engaged with him, it all instantly becomes worth all the time he dealt with yoga, birds, and bloody zombie figurines.

Starting My Own Online Business
Sooo... i’ve decided to start up a blog to document my journey! Some of you will find this interesting, some of you won’t but that’s ok haha. I have decided that enough is enough, i want to start my own online business! I’m currently 28 years old and i’ve spent a lot of my life working for other people. Don’t get me wrong i have grateful for all of the work i have been given but i feel it’s time for a change!
A couple of buddies of mine have started an amazon fba business and i’ve got to say when they first told me about it i had no idea what they were going on about. Anyway i’ve been taking the time to research all things amazon fba and i’m pretty sure that it would be a great fit for me!
Amazon FBA - Which way to go?
So there are options when it comes to this business model, you can re-sell other peoples products, in the biz they refer to this as online arbitrage or you can create your own products to sell. The pro’s refer to this business model as the private label amazon model.
Basically as a reseller you are a flipper, you buy products and flip them over for a profit. I do like the sound of that but i’m looking for something where i can put my creative juices to good use. So for me i think the private label model may be a better fit! I’ve started looking around a blogs and youtube channels to start gathering as much info as possible.  It looks like the trick with private label is all within the product research phase. A lot of people say they just manually search around on amazon looking for product ideas, when they’ve found one they’ll compare the listing price to the price from sites like alibaba or global sources.
Like i say i’ve been doing quite a bit of research and i think that actually i’m going to look at some paid amazon seller tools. I’ve got a little bit to invest and i want to take this business seriously.
One of the tools that keeps coming up is helium 10.. i mean a lot of people rave about jungle scout but a lot of the youtube videos i’ve watched talk about how great helium 10 is. There actually looks like there are a lot more useful videos on youtube too.
I found this one article from a seven figure amazon seller, they explain exactly how they use all of the helium 10 tools within their amazon business, it’s a long article but it is actually incredibly in depth.
So what’s next for me?
Next Steps...
Well.. i’m planning to bore you all with a lots more of my findings about amazon fba. I’m going to really drill down on my research
Tumblr media
I’m feeling pretty patient about it all, i’ve got a job i work full time but i’ll be honest, it isn’t enough for me. I’m going to keep you guys updated, i want to be able to find decent everygreen products that sell all year round. I also need to try and work out how these sellers are receiving all of these goods, i’m not sure if my girlfriend would be too happy if a truck load of boxes turned up.
That’s another thing i need to figure out, once you’ve purchased a product from say China or where ever.. Can you send the product straight into amazon? or would you have to receive it elsewhere first?
So yer, shipping is on my list. But first of all let’s look for a decent looking product.
Like i say a couple of my friends are doing pretty well for themselves, i know it hasn’t been simple but i know i can do it too, i’ve just got that belief in my self. I’ve read alot about big time sellers that have made it just by leveraging amazon fba... check out this article.
I remember a few years back reading about the first few people to become millionaires off the back of ebay... To me it looks like Jeff Bezos is creating these sort of sellers on steroids and i want some of that action.
Follow Me On My Journey
So yer, stay around for the ride and see how i get on. Am i going to end up as one of those “nearly made it” guys? Or am i going to take my share of this incredible opportunity? You cab bet that its going to be the latter.
Follow me and see what i get up to, i’m going to be documenting and sharing everything i am working out along the way, maybe that way we can ALL learn a thing or two about how difficult this really is.
Anyway, silkysalmoncatcher remember the name. I don’t really know why i’ve gone for that name it just made me laugh so i thought hey let’s name my blog that.
I’d love to hear from any of you on a similar path... if you are learning about amazon FBA let’s network maybe we can help each other out along the way.
If anything i think this is going to be a really fun exercise for me, what have i got to lose?
Speaking of which i’ve got a budget of about $3,000 to put into this... so maybe i’ve got $3,000 to lose... oh... so yer maybe i have got something to lose. Either way i’m going into this with the following in mind.
Even if i lose all of my investment, you can garuntee that i’ll learn a thing or two about online businesses. I still feel young at 28 so i’ve got time on my side!
Keep going for it my people and remember.. the good people always win in the end. My parents always taught me to help people where i can so that makes me feel good about documenting this journey.
I love to hear from any of you following the dream of a full time amazon fba hustle.
Thanks for reading
Silky Salmon

Very Dominant - She is kind, but strict.  She was raised to be a leader, a true lady. She
Musician- started young, got signed at 15. Has released five albums, here because her label refuses to offer her another contract until she completes her time at the institute,
She’s autistic and has a service dog to help with meltdowns and overwhelms. Her name is Lyric and she’s a newfoundland
She’s also an artist, she’s been focusing on her music career, but she sells her art on etsy
BIO
Caroline was born to a ultra wealthy family in Ireland.  Her mother a fashion designer, her father a business man.   She was the eldest child of the family.  Her tastes leaned more towards her mother’s, the creative juices flowing through her from a young age.  She started art first, and music followed soon after. Her parents had a private tutor for her until age 7, where the local teachers deemed her ready to go off to boarding school.   She thrived at boarding school, with the more structured day soothing her.   She was smart as a whip too.  At this time, her leadership qualities started to show and the rumors started flying, in regards to what mark.
At the shift to secondary she got dx with autism due to some signs her teachers and the consular caught. Her parents got her a service dog to help with deep pressure, navigating social situations and a few other tasks.   Around that time, a scout came to the school from a music label at the exact time she was preforming an original song for her classmates.  She was signed pretty much immediately. She would work on an album during school breaks,   Art was her soothing self care during the school time.  She thrived on the airwaves, a specific demographic listening to her music, with some cross hopping hits.    Her social life exploded, her bright and bubbly personality finally catching on among her more stuck up peers.
After she graduated with honors, she spent a year at home, adjusting and figuring out what she wanted to do.   She also received lessons on kinks and stuff she would need to know. Her answer came with her label telling her to go to an institute or else they wouldn’t renew her contract .   She and her parents decided on Lima Heights after a friend recommended them.
BIO QUESTIONS:
What are your feelings about the mark you have received?
My family raised me to be a dominant,  though to their credit I was given education on both sides of the coin. I was expecting the mark. I am a driven person. I’m excited to see how the journey goes.
How do your feelings on the system compare to your parents’ feelings on it?
I think we’re mostly the same.  I do think that there should be a bit more lenicary when it comes to becoming a slave, as it’s not a one size fits all world.  But the system is in place for a reason and it clearly works
Where do you see yourself after you graduate?
Back with my label, with a new contract.  My label will be satisfied with one claim, but I ideally would like more then one .  I think I would like to stay in the states, but I hope to build a relationship with my subs that we could decide where would be best for all of our dreams.
How do you feel about authority?
Rules that have a reason, people that have a good logical reason, fine. People trying to take away human rights, no. But I work pretty well with people

In early December I traded Vince Dunn for Nazem Kadri in my keeper league. At the time, I wanted the depth forward as it would keep me in the hunt. I also wanted a playoff guy and Kadri was a lock for the playoffs, whereas clearly Dunn and his St. Louis Blues were, uh…done. They were bottom dwellers at the time. And as a bonus, Kadri had a great second half last year and although that was due to playing with Mitch Marner (which wasn’t going to happen again this year), I figured there would still be an uptick. Well, that entire transaction has derailed and I feel like I gave up a good quality young defenseman for nothing. With Kadri’s track record of dirty hits, he’s going to miss time and likely lots of it. So as a playoff asset, he’s done. And he never had that second-half uptick so he really didn’t help the bottom of my roster very much, either.
*
Dante Fabbro’s ice time on Saturday dipped from 11:45 to 9:11. I wonder if that means Matt Irwin or Yannick Weber draw in for him next game. Fabbro still hasn’t seen a sniff of PP action in six games of professional hockey.
*
Well it’s done. A week ago I didn’t expect this to happen. Not even when I had my “interview” with Nikita Gusev’s agent a couple of weeks ago. I thought this would come in the form of a signing in late June, or an announcement in August. But things have moved quickly over the last week and Vegas has actually signed Gusev to a one-year entry-level contract. The 26-year-old has dominated the KHL – and the international stage – for a couple of years now, and he’s ready to step into the lineup right away. Not only that, but he is actually eligible to play, since he wasn’t signed as an unrestricted free agent. It would surprise me if this happened in the very next game, as teams tend to give players such as this some time to get to know the system. But I don’t think they’ll wait too long. He could have an Artemi Panarin-type of impact. Vegas already has their first two lines in stone (or “Stone”, if you will):
William Karlsson – Jonathan Marchessault – Reilly Smith
Max Pacioretty – Paul Stastny – Mark Stone
Which means that if Gusev were to get into this lineup, he would knock out Tomas Nosek and play on a line with Cody Eakin and Alex Tuch.
Out of curiosity I searched my files for the oldest thing I wrote on Gusev and I found a few interesting things:
1. I had him ranked 18th in my Top 20 Forwards from the 2012 Draft to own in a keeper league, from the 2012 Fantasy Prospects Report.
2. In the draft write-up for that year in the FPR (before the draft took place), we had the following words on Gusev:
Nikita Gusev – LW (CSKA, MHL)
Nikita Gusev was the diminutive offensive star of the 2012 U20 WJC who has been passed over in two drafts already. There are plenty of knocks against Gusev – mainly his size (5-9) and his nationality (Russian) but given his dominant performance for Team Russia where he tallied nine points in seven games there is certainly some upside here. He thrived on a line with Lightning prospect Nikita Kucherov and given that Tampa Bay’s GM Steve Yzerman has shown no hesitation in selecting Russian talent, it would not be surprising to see Gusev end up with a lightning bolt on his chest. His puck control, creativity and vision are elite and even if he is not willing to transfer to North America right away, he is certainly worth a flyer in this year’s draft.
Upside: Top line playmaking winger (Marty St. Louis/Claude Giroux-esque), 25-40-65+
3. In 2012 for The Hockey News.com, I wrote the following:
If he were “Joe Smith” from out of the OHL, and was 6-0, 175, then this dynamic player would have been one of the five or six highest forwards drafted. Instead, he’s Nikita Gusev from out of the KHL and he’s 5-9, 163. He’s already been passed over in two drafts. But TB made a great pick using a seventh rounder on him. He’s a long-term project and “boom or bust”. He’ll either be a high-scoring star, or we’ll never see him in the NHL. Only the deepest leagues should consider him, as he is several years away.
*
I have since included Gusev in every FPR since, so seven editions and counting (because he will be in this one as well – out June 1st).
*
It was the Mark Stone – Paul Stastny – Max Pacioretty show as the 1B line has turned into the first line and the 1A line is now the clear-cut second line. What an add all three of these players turned out to be. This has been a battle of the big-name adds with Stone, Stastny and Pacioretty up against Erik Karlsson and Gustav Nyquist. Both teams spent big, but one team will be out first round.
Stastny and Stone each had five points, while Pacioretty was in on just two. Shea Theodore, unheralded, but he snuck three assists in as well.
Joe Thornton only got two minutes for this, but look for a suspension to be announced soon I’m sure:

There was a Deadline Deal this year that I must have missed. You know, the one where the Islanders went back in time and traded Jordan Eberle 2018 straight up for Jordan Eberle 2012?
Eberle has had a great postseason so far, with five points. A bit of a late surge to juice up that UFA contract this summer. He’s been playing with Anders Lee and Brock Nelson, but Sunday Mat Barzal was bumped up to that line in place of Nelson, in a move that piled all the hot players onto one line. The three of them have now combined for 12 points in the three games.
Can the Islanders shut Sidney Crosby down for four games? It doesn’t seem like it’s possible, but here we are. Crosby is still looking for point numero uno. Jake Guentzel, Patric Hornqvist and Nick Bjugstad are the other key offensive players with goose eggs after three games.
Jared McCann was back in the lineup for the Penguins, but he wasn’t put on the Crosby line. Trying to shake things up a bit, Coach Mike Sullivan went with:
23.8%
HORNQVIST,PATRIC – MALKIN,EVGENI – MCCANN,JARED
20.2%
CROSBY,SIDNEY – GUENTZEL,JAKE – SIMON,DOMINIK
16.7%
CULLEN,MATT – RUST,BRYAN – WILSON,GARRETT
14.5%
ASTON-REESE,ZACH – BJUGSTAD,NICK – KESSEL,PHIL
Now with their backs against the wall, I would go with Crosby/McCann/Guentzel, Malkin/Kessel/ZAR, Bjugstad/Simon/Hornqvist, Cullen/Rust/Blueger. But I’m no coach.
*
Not only was Nikita Kucherov out of the lineup for the Lightning due to his suspension, but the team was also without star defenseman Victor Hedman. He’s out with a – gasp – unknown injury. Unknown to us, I mean. I’m pretty sure it’s known to him and the Lightning. The Blue Jackets were without Markus Nutivaara, who was injured by Kucherov in the hit for which he was suspended.
But whatever the reason, the Blue Jackets dominated the Lightning again and have seized a 3-0 series lead in what has easily been the shocker of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Columbus took five or six weeks to get the new roster to mesh and things have come together just in time. On paper, back at the end of February, the Jackets looked awesome. But they needed a two-time Vezina winning goalie backstopping them and they didn’t have that. Until mid-March. That was when Sergei Bobrovsky’s alarm went off and he arrived for the 2018-19 season.
I also think the arrival of Oliver Bjorkstrand as a top-six player has helped. It’s like adding one at the deadline. Bjorkstrand has 26 points in his last 40 regular season and playoff games – 18 of them are goals. That’s a 36-goal full season pace (pretty tough math there). So not only did this team add Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel in February, but they also added an improved or more comfortable 36-goal man in Bjorkstrand. Will this be enough to win one of the next three games? And I say “three” instead of four because if Tampa claws back to a Game 7 they’re not losing it.
Another advantage – Torts is rolling four lines. The top line is getting 17 or 18 minutes, and the fourth line is getting 13 minutes. For Tampa this is more like 20 minutes and 10 minutes.
*
Erik Cernak, not really an offensive defenseman but more of a two-way guy, leads the Lightning with three points.
This is the first time Tampa Bay has lost three games in a row this season. Also the first time Columbus has one three playoff games in a series.
*
Nikita Gusev wasn’t the only Russian star to sign with an NHL playoff team. Columbus signed Vladislav Gavrikov, a defenseman who played with Gusev on SKA St. Petersburg. There were also questions as to whether or not Gavrikov would sign, too. Funny enough – the Jackets have two defensemen hurt and had to actually dress Adam Clendening Sunday. Gavrikov is 23 and he moves into the Top 100 on my Fantasy Prospects list for defensemen. His upside is minimal (mid-30s) but he’s close to a sure thing when it comes to making it into the NHL. At least, as much as one can be a sure thing. You can read our scouting report on him here.
*
Kevin Hayes was demoted to the fourth line and promptly scored a goal en route to a Jets win.
Jordan Binnington only faced 29 shots, but six of them were goals. But the Jets poured it on early, with 13 shots in the first and 12 in the second. However, despite just four shots in the third, Winnipeg scored three of them. The first indication that Winnington is indeed human.
I noted (above) the ice times of different lines for Columbus and Tampa. It’s worth noting that Winnipeg coach Paul Maurice had his fourth line play just 7:30, other than Hayes who played 11 minutes. Jack Roslovic and Mathieu Perreault just 7:30 each. I don’t believe the Jets can go deep if that’s what they think of their bottom forwards. I don’t think it’s Winnipeg’s year, but I think they’ll get there some day soon.
And I think Connor Hellebuyck will be the guy to take them there. A good “buy low” in my eyes. I think this was just an off year.
*
In one of my leagues I have a decent playoff team carrying over from the regular season, but I didn't think I could win because the goalies on my team that made the playoffs aren't great ones. I'd much rather own a Rask or a Vasilevskiy. But my goalies – Sergei Bobrovsky and Robin Lehner – aren't doing so bad after all.
*
Playoff data is rolling for Frozen Tools, simply change the relevant drop-box from Regular Season to Playoffs. Eric Daoust has also added TOI charts, which look pretty awesome. You can check out TOI and Points charts here in the Chart Generator. But Eric is also putting these charts where relevant. For example if you were looking at Kevin Labanc and you wanted to compare him to Timo Meier, click the Info/Analysis tab and type Meier’s name in the box. Besides the comparable stats one over the other, there is also this TOI chart game by game:
  *
See you next Monday.

Job Seekers: Here’s a Step-by-Step Guide on How to Write a Good Resume
Hiring practices may have changed a bit in the past few years, but one thing has stayed the same: Resumes are a must during a job hunt, and a quality one is a very big deal for job seekers.
These sacred documents represent the whole of your working life. They’re your first introduction to prospective employers and can make or break your chances of getting a job.
If you’re wondering how to write a resume, there are some important details to keep in mind. Use this blueprint to create a great resume that gets you noticed.
Choose Your Format
First off, decide whether you are applying for a job that requires a CV (curriculum vitae) versus a resume. Don’t know the difference? Here’s a quick rundown.
Resume or CV?
We’ve spent a lot of time talking about resumes, but what about CVs — and what’s the difference? In short, quite a bit.
Your Curriculum Vitae
You can throw out many of the do’s, don’ts and tips we’ve mentioned when it comes to crafting a CV. This is a static document — as in you won’t be changing it up across industries as you would with a resume — that should cover your work and educational history in excruciating detail.
“Your CV only changes as your accomplishments grow,” said Loren Margolis, CEO of Training & Leadership Success. “Whereas, your resume should be modified often and tailored for each company and job to which you apply.”
You might associate CVs with academics — not very flashy, but chock-full of information. They can include everything from research and teaching experience, references to book chapters, memberships in professional organizations and conference-speaking engagements.
They can generally be as long as necessary to cover your professional career. And really, if you’re reading this, there’s a 99% chance you’ll write a resume for your job rather than a CV.
Start Formatting
Free online resume templates that let you fill in the blanks are an option, but you get what you pay for which is to say, not much.
Artists, graphic designers and other visually creative professionals may want to use their resume to highlight their creative talents. In that vein, there are services, such as VisualCV, that create a custom template for you to work from — and recruiters won’t find it among Microsoft Word’s.
Otherwise, keep things simple.
Hiring managers are interested in your skills and experience, not fancy fonts or formatting. Use a standard font like Arial or Tahoma, and keep the layout simple with lots of white space and margins no larger than one inch.
In one of the most popular posts of all time on the jobs subreddit, Colin McIntosh, a former recruiter and current CEO at bedding company Sheets & Giggles, provided a simple template that should help you get started.
“I knew people were hungry for good free formats, so I expected it to be maybe the top post of the day, but I never expected this type of reception,” said McIntosh. “A year later, I still get emails and PMs every single day about that post, and it really recreated my favorite feeling from when I was a recruiter  — helping other people land dream jobs.”
Create Your Content
Staring at a blank Word document can be daunting. Getting started is sometimes the hardest part, but we’ve got you covered.
Start With a Brainstorming Session
The best way to get those creative juices flowing is by asking yourself a series of questions about your accomplishments, said Jessica Hernandez, founder of Great Resumes Fast. These include:
What are you most proud of in your professional career?
How did you add value — efficiency, cost-savings or just happiness — to the companies at which you previously worked?
Take notes on each of these questions for each of those positions you previously held. This will give you a starting point once you’re ready to put pen to paper (er, fingertips to keyboard.)
“If you can answer those questions under each job you’ve held, you’re going to get a lot of meat on your resume,” Hernandez said.
“You can also ask others what they think about you,” she said.
And make sure you can explain in plain English what you actually did at each previous job; clarity is king for recruiters. Try to shy away from wishy-washy, jargon-laden phrases like “added synergy.”
As you’re taking notes, keep each description and accomplishment short, roughly a line. Margolis said recruiters will spend as little as six seconds reading your resume.
Reach Out
Don’t be shy. Make a connection at the company where you plan to apply to get a general idea about what the firm is looking for in that particular job. The best way to do this is through LinkedIn, said Margolis.
This will help you customize your resume as you apply for jobs across industries. Plus, you can get an idea of what keywords to include throughout your resume. (We’ll get to those later.)
Get Started
Once you have all your notes handy, a nifty template to work from and a 48-ounce cup of coffee, you’re ready to get started.
Your resume should contain several important components. But keep in mind there is disagreement in the HR and recruiting world about what to include and exclude. We’ll give you a rundown of all the components, and you can decide.
One very important thing to remember: You should keep this document to one page, McIntosh said. Remember, recruiters are going to give you less than 10 seconds to make an impression with your resume.
Contact Information
Feature your name and contact information at the top of the page.
Start with your name, followed by your phone number and email address. If you have a LinkedIn profile or professional online portfolio, be sure to include that as well.
But wait! This is an area you can use a little hack to avoid any unconscious bias that recruiters may have. Use you first initial instead of your full first name and it should help overcome any potential gender bias that could come out when a recruiter is scanning your resume.
Still, you’ll want to use your full name when emailing with a human resources manager or applying online.
Also, if this is a position in a new city, you might want to leave off your current address or include a note that you are planning to move to the city in which the job is located. That way, you can avoid being passed over due to an employer worried about covering moving expenses.
Objective
We’re going to tell you how to write a resume objective, but know this first: There is some debate in the resume-writing and HR world about whether you need an objective at the top of the document.
McIntosh said to skip it and get right to your accomplishments and job descriptions.
But, if that connection you made over LinkedIn advises you to use an objective, make it short.
Write a paragraph — two or three sentences at most — highlighting the type of work you’re looking for. Be sure to mention skills and talents that make you perfect for the job. This goes at the top of the document, usually separated by a line.
Work Experience
List your current job (if applicable) first, followed by all previous jobs in reverse chronological order.
Each job should include:
Name and address of the company where you worked
Your job title
Dates of employment
Your job responsibilities*
Your accomplishments in the position
See those bullet points above? They should be all over your resume. Use them for your accomplishments, job descriptions and the education and skills sections, described below. They’ll help recruiters scan your resume quickly.
If you have no work experience, don’t leave this section blank or eliminate it. McIntosh suggested listing your position during any downtime as an independent consultant, under which you explain in a bullet point that you needed some flexibility for personal matters.
“No one will ask about the personal matters, and you can just hand wave it away as ‘some family items that needed to be sorted out’ if they do,” he said in a follow-up Reddit post.
Additionally, you can use the section to highlight skills you’ve developed during college or while doing volunteer work.
“Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the skills you list on your resume need to be the direct result of a previous professional position. As long as you can successfully demonstrate those abilities, go ahead and list them. It really doesn’t matter where you learned them,” recommends The Everygirl’s Kat Boogaard.
Education
In this section, include any community colleges, universities, trade schools or technical colleges you’ve attended. Begin with your most recent school and work backwards.
For each school, be sure to provide:
The name, city and state of the school
Any degrees or certifications you received
Recruiters we spoke to highlighted another trend in resume-writing to overcome any age-related bias: Leave off the graduation dates.
“Protect yourself, and do not put graduation dates on your resume,” Hernandez said. “It’s pointless to do so.”
Note: If your degree is in progress, add the expected date of completion to let prospective employers know you’re still working on it.
Honors and Community Experience
This section captures extracurricular activities that don’t fit into the previous sections. For example:
Academic or work-related awards
Membership in clubs or organizations like Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts, 4-H or debate club
Volunteer community service
Greek life leadership
Additional Skills
Here’s where to highlight skills and talents that set you apart from other job seekers, including:
Fluency in more than one language
Typing speed
Experience in specific software
Experience with public speaking
List the programs and skills without any qualifiers, such as “proficient,” “experienced” or “skilled in.”
Personal Interests
McIntosh recommends including a section in which you list your personal interests, such as:
Hobbies
Favorite TV shows or movies
Favorite books or authors
This will give something with which you can connect with your recruiter, provided they have the same interests.
A Word About Keywords
Now that you have the basic format of the resume down, let’s talk about keywords — or how robots will likely be responsible for your employment future (sort of.)
Many companies ask job candidates to apply online and upload resumes to their website. Resumes are often electronically scanned for particular keywords to quickly weed out unqualified applicants.
“Your resume keywords should include specific job requirements, including your skills, competencies, relevant credentials and previous positions and employers,” says career expert Alison Doyle. “Essentially, keywords should be words that, at a glance, will show the hiring manager that you are a good fit for the job.”
To help you find the keywords relevant to a position you’re pursuing, print out a copy of the job description. Then highlight the words or phrases you see pop up several times throughout the document. Finally, circle the ones you have in common and sprinkle them throughout your resume.
Do’s and Don’ts While Writing Your Resume
As we keep saying, recruiters give you 10 or fewer seconds when scanning your resume and deciding whether to start the interview process. Here are some quick do’s and don’t while writing your resume.
Do!
Keep it to one page. Margolis said that rule is a bit outdated and you can likely get away with 1 1/2 pages, but striving to keep your resume brief will help you tease out your most impressive accomplishments.
Include hyperlinks to your online resume or portfolio. This used to be a big no-no, but with modern PDFs, you can easily link to other personal information. This will help keep your actual resume short as well.
Always use PDFs when emailing your resume. It’s universal, and there’s nothing that will get your resume trashed faster than sending a document that’s incompatible with a recruiter’s computer.
Include as much white space as possible. Make your resume easy on the eyes and simple for HR professionals to quickly scan.
Use action verbs such as “built” or “launched.”
Don’t!
Don’t use an inappropriate or outdated email address. Said McIntosh: “Delete your Hotmail with extreme prejudice.”
Don’t overdo it with keywords. As you sprinkle keywords throughout your resume, be sure they don’t make the content sound stilted or awkward. Look for ways to work them in naturally; don’t force it.
Don’t use a fancy font. Stick to the basics. McIntosh said he’s on a Garamond kick lately.
Don’t blast your resume out indiscriminately. Make sure you tweak it based on the position you’re applying for — and remember to reach out over LinkedIn, if possible.
Don’t use personal pronouns like “I” or “me.” Basically, Margolis said, you need to write like a caveman and leave the pronouns out.
Oh, and remember to check out our 31 awesome tips to make your resume shine.
Final Touches
Once you’ve created your resume, it’s not ready to hand to a hiring manager until you do these three things:
1. Proofread Your Work
It’s not enough to simply run your resume through a spellchecker because they don’t always catch every mistake.
Print a copy of your resume, then read through it slowly several times to make sure it’s error-free. Blow up the font to help catch every problem.
2. Show It to a Friend
Share your resume with someone you trust to get some honest feedback on how it looks. Have the person read it to you out loud to take in the content in a new way.
3. Convert It to a PDF
Write your resume in whatever software application works best for you, but convert it to a PDF file before you send it to a hiring manager. If your word processing software doesn’t include a conversion feature, there are plenty of free online services to choose from.
PDF file formats are almost universally preferred during the hiring process, and they protect your resume’s content from being accidentally altered once it leaves your hands.
Once your resume is ready for prime time, write up a cover letter (they’re more important than you think) and start sending it to job prospects.
Happy job hunting!

A Dream I Had or Material For My Storytelling, Ideas andor Dreams from my amazing husband Rusty andor Both? I’m in one scene where there is a hybrid of a CVS store and a restaurant. The Cvs store has all the things of a modern day department store yet they also have a section of items that are normally sold on Amazon.com (books, cds, movies etc) almost as if the Amazon company bought out the store. The restaurant has a a large white tent like ceiling and leads with many of the tables inside very close to the entrance of the CVs store (less than 14 feet from the entrance), with the number 2113 on the ceiling (I’m guessing maybe the year 2113). Another scene what looks to be my current lifetime, I’m happily walking with my husband Rusty inside of the entrance of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia and I look at myself in a jean jacket skirt and fitting jean jacket vest with a lacy pink tanktop. I notice that I am almost just as thin as I was when I first met my husband (119 pounds). I ask my husband Rusty, love how much do I weigh, my husband lovingly giggles and says Stella remember I witnessed you weighing yourself at GNC and both of us cheering together because you now weigh around 125 pounds. You were excited because it was going to be easier for you to pick out an outfit for the best of Virginia launch party that were going to inside one of the pavilions.  Rusty then understandably asks me if I am ok and I smile at him and say of course as I take his hand as we continue to walk along the park while I see an eagle majestically fly over some beautiful trees similar to the eagle flying image in the music video for Stay On by Swiss music artist Tinkabelle.

I admit that I decided to watch My Lottery Dream Home Season 1 Episode 1 A Big Home For A Prize after seeing an episode of Lottery Dream Homes when my husband and I visited my mother in law this past 4th of July Weekend (I’m glad she introduced me to this show). For reasons related to sticking to my money goals relating to building up my savings I held off on purchasing the whole season of My Lottery Dream home at once but I plan to purchase season 1 of My Lottery Dream Homes within 2-3 months of this writing because watching the first episode of My Lottery Dream Homes is fun to watch. Season One opens with married couple Rick and Lorrie who won a California Lottery Draw on August 23, 2014 and the host (online source reality tea lists the host as David Bromstadt) of My Lottery Dream Home helps the couple decide on their mansion and a place big enough for the couple’s children and room for Lorrie’s father and close to where the couple has been living for many years (I forgot the exact number quoted and would have to watch the episode again to remind myself but I think it was at least 20 years that they had been living in California because it was mentioned that Rick had just retired from his job shortly before the lottery win). Bromstadt took great care in showing Rick and Lorrie houses that they enjoyed looking at (my favorite place that the host took them to was Eagle Crest). Hopefully it is fine for me to write that the additional happy ending to this episode was that the couple were able to also buy some high acres of land with the mansion that they ultimately went with. The two dollars that I spent on this episode is well worth it and I obviously would still eventually purchase the whole season 1 even if it was made available for free on Amazon, Netflix, etc.

This review is from: In & Out of  Consciousness: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I  have to first start off by saying that I am happy and pleased with the number  of hits that are included in this collection of Robbie William's Hits. The  songs that stood out for me the most are:  1)She's the One-A great track on what it feels like to be with someone that  is like your twin soul. He recently found true love with US model and actress  Ayda Field (Robbie married her at his Los Angeles mansion in the summer of  2010) (I saw a picture of them on a bbc website, they are a cute couple). The  point that I am making is that because he has found true love that the title  "She's the One" has come to be the real-life connection to his  great musical art.  2)Rock DJ- A great song about having fun, and making the best of your life  regardless of where in your journey that you are.  3)Millenium- A song that symbolizes taking inventory of where a person is in  their life while an abundance of time is available.  4)Angels- A beautiful song about enjoying the company of kind people  (symbolized by the lyrics I'm loving angels instead).  5)Do Me Now- A catchy song about the many fascinating things that he is  interested in, but that although he has many interest, that in the now moment  it is more important to him to seize the moment and have fun.  6)Feel- A beautiful song about experiencing passionate and happy love. His  music video has him playing a rodeo star, and Hannah plays as his love  interest. I love both the video and the song to "Feel". I admit  that I thought that Robbie Willliams looked very handsome in the  "Feel" video. However, his quality lyrics and strong singing  expressed in "Feel" proves that he is much more than just an  attractive face(and that Robbie truly has the gift of singing great songs).  "Feel" by Robbie Williams is one of my favorite songs because it  expresses how passion can serve as a positive agent for joyful change in a  person's life.  7)Bodies- A very sexy song that is tastefully done, and appears to be about  striving to make sense of the importance of seeing the beauty in one's body  even amidst the societal obsession with having "perfect" and/or  "thin" bodies.    Getting this three cd set by Robbie Williams was so very worth it because of  the number of good songs and his excellent voice. There is something magnetic  and powerful about Robbie William's voice that goes wonderfully with many of  this songs. Please consider getting this collection of Robbie's if you like  any of his songs and/or you enjoy pop music. In my humble opinion, Robbie has  so much talent and creatively expresses his spirit through his music (it  beautifully shows through many of the songs on this three cd set). I would  even dare to say that Robbie deserves alot more attention here in America  because of the superb music that he creates, and his powerful singing voice).
   of 5 starsOne Smooth Song
ByStella Carrieron February 11, 2011
Format: MP3 Music
"Smooth" is a very fun and great pop/rock song done beautifully by Carlos Santana. I remember being in my senior year in high school when I heard this song. When I saw the video to this song being played on one of the music channels there was something about it that drew me on(I just wish that I can remember if it was VH1 or MTV). Carlos made the right decision when he selected Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty to sing the vocals (Rob has a great singing voice). The reason why I say this is because I noticed that in the music video Rob Thomas really put his spirit and emotion in giving the musical "Smooth" a vibrant life of its own. "Smooth" is a gorgeous song about a man who is willing to change his life to accomodate the woman he loves, and he is asking the woman in his life to make up her mind about him. He makes this clear with the clever and catchy lyrics "so give me your heart, make it real, or else forget about it). I love and enjoy listening to Rob Thomas's vocals in this song. In addition, I was imagining who this song was for, especially when Rob Thomas did a good job of using his voice of emphasizing the lyrics "my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa" When I found out later on that it was for his wife Marisol Thomas I was very moved and thought that was romantic and heartwarming. I say this because "Smooth" came out in 1999. It is posted online that they met in 1998 and married in 1999. At the time of this writing, they are still married (which I think is so beautiful by the way, may they enjoy more joyful and loving years together). I admit that part of the reason why I still find this song enjoyable to listen to is because I enjoy hearing Rob Thomas's singing (Rob's music and vocals first drew me in with the 1997 Matchbox 20 musical hit "Push"). The best way to choose whether you are going to love this song is if you enjoy music by either Rob Thomas, Carlos Santana, and/or romantic alternative rock songs.

ByStella Carrieron April 9, 2012
"Trance Voices: The New Chapter" is a creative collection of songs that span the dance, trance, and electronica genres. This collection has a total of 42 songs on two cds. The picture of the angel on the blue covering is fitting for the music because many of the songs are happy and one of a kind. The following are some of the tracks on "Trance Voices: The New Chapter": Spaceship by Benny Benassi (featuring Kelis) Till Tonight by Laidback Luke One (Your Name) by Swedish House Mafia featuring Pharell Closer by Jes Could You Believe by ATB Become One by Ali Wilson Innocent by Groove Coverage "Trance Voices: The New Chapter" is great for those who enjoy various artists compilations consisting of dance, electronica, trance, and synth-pop melodies.
Belinda Carlisle Greatest Hits-I first became interested in Belinda Carlisle’s music around the age of 7 when I first heard her song Heaven On Earth.  I purchased this collection of Belinda Carlisle hits from Amazon US on July 21, 2007 when I was still in the U.S Navy and stationed on the Mayport Naval Base (my husband was already a civilian by then (he was honorably discharged in 2005) and he was working at the Navy Lodge hotel on this base).
5.0 out of 5 starsHer Music Can Make You Feel Heaven on Earth
ByStella Carrieron December 30, 2010
Format: Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I remember first hearing the song "Heaven on Earth" when I was truthfully in kindergarten. Yes, I only understood the full meaning of the song years later, but the positive message that it is possible to create heaven on earth makes the song very enjoyable. The video to this song complements it very well. In the video, it appears that she is creating her own "heaven on earth" with someone that she really is passionate about, and the video is very tasteful and creative at the same time (globes strategically placed to symbolize the heaven on earth). This musical collection has other positive songs that are in the same upbeat spirit as "Heaven on Earth", such as "Mad About You", "Circle In the Sand", and "I Get Weak". "Mad About You" is a song that symbolizes how excited and ecstatic someone can make you feel when you are definitely madly passionate about them. "Circle in the Sand" is in the same vein, but is a very mystical and enchanting song about the good things that can happen when both people are mutually attracted to each other. There are other deep and emotionally intense tracks in this collection as well such as "I Feel the Magic". However, my favorite song on this cd is definitely "I Get Weak". "I Get Weak" is a musical masterpiece about the powerful effect that someone can have on you when you have an intense attraction towards them. The music video to the song illustrates the meaning of "I Get Weak" extremely well. In the video, Belinda's character is definitely looking at her crush with a feeling of longing (along with some other beautiful women). It appears that she accepts the way she feels in the video, but seems shocked and is trying to come to terms with the strong effect that this passionate longing is having on her. Overall, a very good song to go along with a wonderful musical video that you can see online (such as youtube). This is a good collection worth listening to if you enjoy 80's pop music.
The Immaculate Collection by Madonna was the music collection that converted me to a Madonna fan around the time I was 14 years old (I first bought the Immaculate collection when it was still on cassette tape and I eventually secured a cd copy of her music). However, I prefer to keep personal for now the songs on this collection that first got me interested (a woman has to allow herself to keep certain secrets at times).

This  a strong collection of Madonna from the 80s and 90's. I got the chance to  enjoy her music once I hit my teenage years in the 90's. This collection is  so good that I can safely say that this is one of the oldest cds that I have.  She has so many good songs on the cd that the best way I can summarize it is  that her first 14 songs span the time period through the 80s. The last 3  songs Vogue, Justify My Love, and Rescue Me are from the early 90s  (1990)(15-17). My favorite songs in the collection are "Open Your  Heart", and "Like A Virgin". Both of these songs also contain  good musical videos to accompany them. However, "Like A Virgin" is  currently my favorite song on this collection. Definitely get this collection  if you can musically appreciate any of the following: any of the Madonna  songs (even if you may only like one of her songs), pop music, dance music,  and/or music from the 80's and 90s.
