ALRIGHT BIG OL’ POST OF PHI’S P5 SUOU FAMILY AU/HEADCANONS that will get periodically updated as i think of stuff

im just gonn bullet point everything i think of even if ive already posted about it

(i’ll be calling p5 protag “aki” here so there’s no confusion between him and his grandfather)

(also this takes place in some weird headcanon land where it’s technically EP universe, but at least Jun and Tastuya remember the events of IS because that gives me nice ideas to work with with Jun being Joker and Aki’s PT codename being Joker lmao)

ok starting off! the family is: Dad Tatsuya, Dad Jun, and Son Akinari; there’s also Uncle Katsuya, Aunt Maya, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Ulala, Uncle Eikichi, Aunt Miyabi, Grandpa Akinari, “Maman” Junko…

(Junko does not enjoy being referred to as Aki’s grandmother; thus she actually has him call her “mother” in french. She loves her grandson though and gives him very expensive presents; she also tried to get the best lawyers for him for his case against Shido, but Shido’s influence beat hers)

Aki’s named after his grandfather on Jun’s side obviously, but he’s more specifically named after the version that died in the IS verse, though only Jun and Tatsuya know this

Jun works as a teacher at Kasugayama, Tatsuya as a detective; before Aki had to move to Tokyo, he attended Sevens. (Jun thought it might be weird for him to be his son’s teacher and worried about students picking on Aki for it, though after Aki’s trial he fought tooth and nail to get him accepted there; in the end, Aki was rejected even from Kasugayama and obviously had to attend Shujin instead)

Jun speaks fluent French, and Aki learned enough to have a basic understanding of it

Jun also taught Aki flower language; working at the flower shop in Shibuya was one of Aki’s favourite pastimes because it reminded him of Jun.

Wakaba attended Sevens for a while and was Akinari Sr’s student - she and Jun met a few times, and through her he met Sojiro. When Aki had to be sent to Tokyo for schooling, Jun called Sojiro and pretty much begged him to take Aki in.

Jun and Tatsuya were HORRIFIED when they heard about Kamoshida; that was at the school they sent their son, after all! They were on the phone with Aki for h o u r s after hearing about it, asking if they needed to come to Tokyo or if he needed to come home, damn the courts, his safety’s more important, but in the end Aki managed to convince them that everything was fine. They made sure to keep a close eye (well, an even closer eye) on the news regarding Shujin after that.

They have suspicions about the Phantom Thieves somehow being Persona users, if just because they can’t figure out any other method to genuinely change a person’s heart; they then worry that Aki’s caught up in it, but don’t know what to do about the possibility of their son being a Persona user besides worry about the inevitable hardships that come with it

Once Aki comes home with Morgana Katsuya basically lives at their house, with a minimum of three (3) bottles of allergy meds on his person at all times
