What it's like to date Young Neil, so basically dating headcannons for what I think it would be like dating him!

Young Neil X Gender-neutral reader.

Tumblr media
⸙ I feel like the first thing to start with is that Young Neil would definitely like someone who would listen to his rambling, questions he has or even theories. He definitely talks a lot during dates, having unusual or fun facts that might not even be factually correct. It's part of his charm really.
⸙ For dates he is the type to choose more simpler things for when he plans them, he's not one for extravagant things but he doesn't dislike it either. After all the only important thing is being with you, he doesn't care what kinda date it is as long as he gets to spend his time with you. It could be something as simple as hanging out in his room, chatting and relaxing together while he plays video games.
Or maybe the two of you playing something together, I'm sure he'd even enjoy board games. When it comes to planning dates he's definitely still thoughtful about such, he just keeps it simple but sweet. Stuff like theatre dates, picnics, going to the arcade, eating out or even just relaxing at home would be main things I could see with him.
⸙ While it may not seem like he's paying attention at times or is lost in his thoughts, I feel like he keep notes of things when he is listening to you talk or stuff he see's when it comes to you. He probably writes stuff down in his notebook or keeps it on little sticky notes after spending time with you, something like favorite foods, games, or places.
⸙ Speaking of Sticky notes I feel like this fits him the most, you and him definitely use sticky notes as like a love language sorta thing. He probably keeps all the one's he gets in a little box or something, one of his most prized possession. Sticky notes from him usually contain random or cute doodles, unusual questions and fun facts or things he learned that he wanted to share, and lastly random pick up lines he saw on the Internet. They're probably really cheesy and he definitely writes little notes under the pick up line about how they make no sense.
⸙ He loves kisses most definitely, especially when they catch him off guard. He could be accidentally rambling after being asked a question and you'd then lean in to peck him on the lips, startling him at first before his expression changed into one of awe. He also really loves more subtle or small kisses as well, specifically ones against his knuckles. Examples being you taking ahold of his hand and bringing his knuckles to your lips, pressing short kisses against them. I just feel like that's so cute and he'd find it really adoring!
⸙ If you're one to use face masks, paint your nails, wear make up or things of the sort. He'd definitely let you do such things for him, main reasons being because he's curious about certain things, finds it cute and lastly it means he gets to spend more time with you doing something that makes you happy. So basically doing facemasks together, him letting you paint his nails or his make-up. I also feel like he'd be interested in learning certain things to help you sometimes, especially when it comes to your hair. Like what products you use, how you do your hair, and other things of the sort so maybe he could help you take care of your hair when staying the night.
⸙ This is just like the last headcannon, but with hobbies and stuff you like. I could see Young Neil dabbling into things you like so you guys can hangout doing stuff that you love or enjoy since you definitely have dates where you hangout with Neil doing things he loves, like playing video games or watching his favorite movies! He'd most likely try to learn fun facts or things about stuff you love, like for favorite bands, artists, sports or anything of the sort. Then he'd share them with you when you're spending your time together, I feel like something like that is really thoughtful.
⸙ If you were to move in with Young Neil and get a pet together, he'd most definitely get some type of reptile. I feel like a bearded dragon but I also think he'd really like snakes, he'd take one look at a breed of snake then point at it and say "I want that one." Most definitely has a lot of knowledge on reptiles that he shares with you at the shop so expect a lot of little fun facts, if you have a fear of snakes he opts for something else like the bearded dragon. You also would most likely get another pet, some type of favorite animal of yours or if you already have a pet then you're welcoming another one now of Neil's choice.
⸙ Matching bracelets, specifically ones the both of you made for eachother. He's always wearing the one you made for him, if it's very colorful, bright, or pastel it definitely sticks out in contrast to his clothing. Whenever he see's that your wearing the one he made for you, he gets all happy. Smiling as he takes a hold of your hand that contains the bracelet and just squeezes it, keeping it subtle.
⸙ This man absolutely loves dinosaurs, robots, space and aliens, or overall anything that's sci-fi. A big chemistry lover as well, a lot of his notes on the sticky pads most definitely contain something of the sort. Cute little doodles of dinosaurs with a fact he wants to tell you, as well as something sweet but still pretty subtle.
⸙ TV dates, I feel like they would be so fun with him. He definitely picks out stuff like the Jurassic park films, back to the future, or Star Trek. OH OMG ALSO E.T. He likes stuff that are kinda old but good, during watching movies or things of the sort he'd state little facts or things he knows. Maybe comment on his favorite scenes or question certain stuff, sometimes earning him a shh. But if it were me I'd tell him what I thought of what he said after shushing him, I feel like something like that would make him love you more or make the night even better for him.
⸙ He definitely points you out whenever you're hanging out with friends and stuff, something like "There's/That's my (Girlfriend, boyfriend, lover!)" While pointing at you when you arrive or when he's talking about you with someone new or who may not know you.
⸙ Makes playlists for the two of you, so you both having something to listen to together or whenever you're busy and not with each other. Speaking of that I feel like he'd get a camera just to take videos of you, of course at first he's not very good at it but slowly he gets better with time. Keeping all of them on tape as memories and things he loves about you.
⸙ Absolutely would love to share his clothes with you, or no more specifically wants to share them with you. Seeing you in his puffy jacket, one of his shirts or an article of clothing that's his, is everything to him as he finds it adorable and remembers that your his significant other making him feel lucky. He probably blurts out questions, asking you what made you decide to date him or things of the sort. Which earns him a chuckle and some comment of reassurance that's sweet, or playful which I'm sure would give him a little confidence boost or just make him quite happy. Probably responds with "Oh, yeah." And then there's the widest smile on his face.
⸙ When talking about you with friends he will ramble about your favorite things, what he loves about you, and how cute or awesome he thinks you are. Most definitely has earned a "Shut up." from Kim because she's heard him say the same things on repeat from listening to him talk about you whenever you're brought up or he gets a chance to. She'll maybe make a comment about how smitten he is or how she gets he's in love with you after, rolling her eyes but giving a small smile.
⸙ Has a whole drawer full of things you left, he thinks you'd enjoy or stuff he got for you for when you stay over. If you have long hair and use hair ties that often get lost, I could see him wearing them or hanging them from something. For when he wears them, you could probably see him rearranging them on his wrists and moving them to avoid it leaving marks or digging more into his skin. Sometimes he'll ask you if you need a hair tie and then pulls one you had lost off his wrist.
⸙ I'll end it with cuddling and hugs, his favorite position and how he likes to hug you. I feel like when cuddling he likes to wrap his arms around you from the back, or he likes laying against you with you running your fingers through his hair, or omg having his head in your lap as he plays on his DS. As for hugs, he most likely wraps his arms around your waist and places his head on yours if you're shorter than him. If you're taller then he may press his head against yours if he can, or buries his face in the crook of your neck while hugging you tight. His hugs are definitely pretty long as well, him savoring the moment basically.

Oh. My god.
So, last night, I reblogged a gifset of that conversation Pete has with Pol when they’re on stakeout, tailing Vegas, sitting around in the car, and Pete wants to know who Pol thinks would do a better job – Vegas’s bodyguard or Pete? And I added this bit of commentary:
My theory on the closest thing Pete has to a sexual fantasy at this point in the narrative and his life: Pete saves Vegas's life in some kind of shootout or assassination attempt that no one else could have protected Vegas from, thereby earning headpats from Thee Vegas Theerapanyakul, who Everyone Knows is a completely detached sociopath who usually has no more use for his bodyguards than as human bulletproof vests (which is somehow different from the main family for no reason I can discern but apparently exists?). Only now, Pete has proven himself and is both Noticed By and Special To this violent, emotionally inaccessible man (who, as an added bonus, is in a position of power over him). I mean, for whatever variables of "special" Pete can even conceptualize at this point, anyway. And I wonder how many times he's imagined this. It's Pete's very own mafia-filtered version of the Bad Boy fantasy in which you're the only one he cares about - you're the only one who can have that effect on him - and that makes you the Most Special-est Girl. C'mon, who's the most inaccessible Bad Boy in Pete's sphere? Certainly not Kinn, who'll just up and tell Pete that he trusts him the Very Most - even more than Pete's best friend! who Kinn is fucking! - the hot minute that Kinn's coercing Pete into doing something he really, really doesn't want to do. And you know Pete's daydream version of what makes him the Most Special-est Girl involves killing someone the best and quickest and most efficiently - because if he wins in the ring a fight, then the most emotionally inaccessible, violent man he knows (who, as an added bonus, is in a position of power over him) will love him, right? Not to mention, a guy with that many gun posters doesn't get stuck on Tankhun-babysitting detail and not have fantasies about proving his worth via violence. Listen, he just spends an awful lot of time standing around in Vegas's right-hand man spot like he's trying on the position during Ep 7, is all I'm sayin'.
… in which the vague allusions to Pete’s Daddy Issues were absolutely intentional. And I’ve also commented before about Pete finding another home with an angry man at the safehouse. And yet it wasn’t until yesterday’s post rolled up on my own dashboard and I saw it again today that the Brick Of Revelation hit me in the head and I thought about this through the framework of - my god! Pete and Vegas really do play out the very scenario that Pete warns Vegas about when you’re seeking the approval of your father abuser!
In the safehouse, Pete wins. He achieves his fantasy. He pulls the thorn out of the lion’s paw, and he gets the notice and special regard of Vegas Theerapanyakul, and he gets his world rocked on top of that, and then … then it turns out nothing changes. Vegas – the guy who expected that Pete winning in the ring would mean that his father would stop beating him, the guy who continues to seek his own abusive father’s approval, who keeps trying to win against Kinn, in the hope that Kun will stop treating him as a disposable whipping boy – Vegas goes right back to physically and emotionally abusing Pete. On top of that, the fantasy doesn’t play out in reality; Vegas literally tells Pete that he’s nothing special. (I mean, lies, of course, but the fact is that Vegas says it right to his face.)
I just. This is another one of those instances where I walked up to this revelation and even walked all the way around it, poking at it, but I just never looked at it straight on until this moment - the way Pete’s experience in the safehouse so closely mirrors his experience with his father. We watch Vegas continue to recreate the cycle of abuse, and we're like, "oh, dude, you need to make some better decisions," but we've also just spent 2.5 eps watching Pete, dispenser of this very wisdom, fall back into the same patterns he warns Vegas about. Because breaking that cycle and changing your behavior and your expectations is hard. Even when your head knows better. The things this show says about generational trauma and intimate violence and patriarchal control, I just ... god. Just, don't mind me, I have to go claw at some drywall for a while.
Also, it makes me wonder if Pete did kill his father. Because if he ran from home the same way he ran from the safehouse, if we’re supposed to look at this echo forward into the present of what happened in the past, then are we supposed to think that maybe there was a similar confrontation in the past, in which Pete struck out before he extricated himself from the trap he was in and ran?
Vegas is a lot younger and more resilient (and used to being knocked around) than Pete’s dad probably was, at that point.

u got any hc’s for miles for earth 42 and miles from 1610 interactions? they’re besties to me fr fr
(first few are sorta theories for btsv, the rest are general hc's for their dynamic. these got kinda angsty, oops)
they definitely fight a few times before realizing they can be on the same side of things, Miles 42 being more the aggressor, but Miles 1610 wants to get even each time, cause he's a teenage boy, sue him. its in their moments of weakness that they start to see that they don't have to be enemies. they're also fair fighters, to some point, and fight generally clean, which definalty plays into their bond later on. there was always some level of mutual trust and respect.
its when they reluctantly team up and they get beaten to absolute pulps, and are forced to see each other as not only equals, but kids, both forced into lives they didn't want, or at least positions, they didn't want, that they start to bond.
its the act of picking each other up and dusting each other off that the bond cements, when Miles 1610 sees the kid in Miles 42, the kid that's tired and scared and not entirely there after living life hidden away in the back of his head that makes him extend his trust and his friendship. for Miles 42, its seeing Miles 1610 be so kind and good and trusting and strong, despite being a kid and being scared and tired and hurting, that makes him want to accept Miles' offer of friendship, and in a way, safety.
once they're friends, they're the definition of terror twins, like, generally they're sweethearts when not in combat, but they are capable of so much mischief, oml. and in combat, together, they're down right terrifying.
I totally think they would see each other like twins too, so they have such a brotherly dynamic in my mind. both are technically only children, so at first they're just kinda in this blissful awe of how nice it feels to not be alone in the world, to know they always have a shoulder to lean on, someone to protect them.
definitely both physically affectionate, and both of them have that AuDHD in them, so they spend a lot of their free time justlying in a pile somewhere.
Miles 42 does Miles 1610's hair and helps him with Spanish, in return Miles 1610 helps Miles 42 reconnect with his artistic side that had been buried while he was the prowler.
Miles 1610 sneaks him into HQ all the time, to the point that Miguel just gives the kid his own watch for the sake of his sanity.
it takes a while for Miles 42 to be down with intimacy of any kind, even just stuff like small talk and brushing shoulders, cause he feels like any attempts at connection from anyone is just them looking for a weak spot to use against him. Miles 1610 definitely helped him feel safe by just blabbering on and on about just about anything, making it abundantly clear that he trusted him (42) to keep his 'secrets' safe, and therefore he could trust Miles 1610 to do the same. once he's ok with small talk, they start tackling physical touch, slowly but surely. Miles 1610 is always supportive of him, always trying to understand better so he can be helpful, trying to make his 'twin' feel safe.
Miles 1610 forces Miles 42 to join his friend group, like he is so insistent that Miles 42 just caves. he doesn't regret it.
Miles 1610 is the more emotional protector, making sure Miles 42 feels safe and secure in a give situation and helping him get away and ground when he doesn't. Miles 42 is a physical protector, and he will end anyone who harms a hair on Miles 1610's head.
very competitive, in everything, absolutely everything.
steal from each other all the time, and almost never return the items.
Miles 1610 will indulge in childish things as if they're the norm for kids his age, so that way Miles 42 doesn't feel so ashamed of reliving the parts of childhood he lost.
they're both afraid of thunder and will huddle up under the covers during a storm. (once Miles 1610 has kindled a bond between his mom and especially his dad and Miles 42, they totally climb into their parent's bed, cause they're just big little kids and they want their parents when the thunder starts shaking the house ok? leave them be)
vigilante Miles 42, who tries to be someone Miles 1610 would be proud of, even in his fucked up dimension and with his already fucked up reputation.
they kinda forget they're basically the same person, so they're all ways surprised when the other likes the same thing or has the same habit, etc.
1610; orange cat. 42; black cat. vibes; amazing
it should be so obvious, but they do the good old twin switch every once and a while, sometimes just for shits and giggles to see how long it takes others to notice.
they guilt trip people when they take too long to notice. they don't actually care, they just think its funny.
they make each other more confident. Miles 1610 is less of a people pleaser and does more for himself. Miles 42 feels secure in being selfless and nice and having his own feelings on things.
for some reason, Miles 42 is really good with babies, and Miles 1610 is subpar at best (he's better with little kids, not babies) and they always babysit mayday together.
they're with each other more often than not. especially after migeul just gives up on trying to keep him off of missions, cause it takes more time and effort to do so, especially when he ultimately fails every time.
Miles 42 blackmailed Miguel into apologizing to Miles 1610, while he was already in the process of apologizing... he just wasn't doing enough in Miles's mind, he needed a little push, a little reminder of what would happen to him if he chickened out.
thats all I've got for now, hope you enjoy my brain worms.

Hot take: Seamus never thought Harry was lying in fifth year
This is my most controversial opinion but I think canon backs me up!!!!!!! If you actually go through the scene, there's not all that much to back up that Seamus genuinely thinks Harry is insane, but there IS an awful lot to back up that Seamus is saying stupid things because he's getting upset and defensive.
Starting at the very beginning... Dean is the one who starts this fight, for apparently no reason? Not sure what his problem is tbh x
Tumblr media
Obviously you can just read this entire next bit as just Seamus being thick but to me, his body language (yellow) and speech patterns (pink) indicate hesitation that is usually super out of character for Seamus... almost like he's not confident in his stance.
Tumblr media
Seamus gives Harry the opportunity to explain himself and it obviously makes sense why Harry doesn't, but that's more to do with Harry trying to process seeing someone die rather than Seamus saying anything that's explicitly provoking/doubting Harry.
Tumblr media
Throughout the scene Seamus stays on the defence; he's not accusing Harry of anything yet, whilst Harry (again, understandably for what he's been through) is using fighting language and actions - I didn't bother highlighting because the entire thing would be highlighted.
Tumblr media
When Ron asks what's going on, Seamus' accusation isn't (yet) that Harry is a nutjob who's pushing his Voldemort conspiracy theories. He's still on the defence and the accusation that he is making is objectively true... we've just read half a page of Harry having a go at Seamus' mother. Again the body language is super tense and explosive. Harry stays aggressive and it's only after all this that Seamus calls Harry mad, but he's doing so in agreement with Harry. The only time in the entire book where he calls Harry crazy is when Harry continually insists that Seamus thinks he's crazy.
Tumblr media
Seamus spends the rest of the book basically just avoiding Harry but notably when he apologises to Harry (in the loosest sense of the word) he never actually says that he didn't believe Harry before, just that he DOES believe Harry after the release of the Quibbler article, and has sent it to his mam to convince her to believe Harry too. Obviously Seamus is a very proud character (evident even in just this scene 😂) so it's perfectly likely that he just doesn't want to admit that he was wrong. But I don't think a reading where he always believed Harry (and was just holding a grudge) is unreasonable either, and this is definitely how I read it.
Tumblr media
!!! Extra Context !!! Again, obviously, this wasn't the most tactful thing for Seamus to do. Maybe he shouldn't have backed his mother so hard. But from the fourth book onwards, it's a really difficult time for everybody, not just Harry. In regards to Seamus specifically, there's a lot of things that I think are important to bear in mind. He's one of only a handful of Irish students at Hogwarts during a time where hibernophobia was really bad in GB and there was a civil war going on in the north, so I think it's only natural that he retreats back to his family for support and safety. Also, as far as I've gathered, rural Ireland is quite a tight-knit, community oriented society. I think the mindset of deferring to your parents and representing your community before your own views, however toxic, makes perfect sense in this context although obviously Harry - not to pull the orphan card here - wouldn't understand it.
It's not even like Seamus seems to agree with his mother most of the time 😂 Obviously it's clear that he doesn't want OTHER people having a go at her, but we can go back to the first extract where Dean literally says that Seamus has had a crappy summer - he's clearly not been gleefully plotting to throw this all in Harry's face. In year six, as well, Seamus has a very public argument with his mother about being allowed to stay at Hogwarts for Dumbledore's funeral (they come to a compromise, which I read as their relationship healing...)
Conclusion: Seamus doesn't think Harry's a nutjob, he just thinks he's a dick and can hold a grudge like a motherfucker.

Hello! I hope you are doing great 💖
May I get fluff headcanons for Dabi, Shigaraki, Hawks, and Miruko ((BNHA)) with a touch-starved reader?
Thank you 🐈
Hello Anon! Absolutely you can get some fluff headcanons! Thank you for the request!
Pairings: Dabi, Keigo Takami (Hawks), Rumi Usagiyama (Mirko), Shigaraki x gn! Reader (separate)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all need affection. So how do the characters go about it with a touch starved Reader?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
Alright, this guy is touch-starved as well so there going to be a lot of mutual comfort here.
Because of his...less than ideal childhood...he never really got a lot of comfort as a child. So any kind of comfort and gentle physical touch is going to be pretty foreign to him to start with.
Give him time though and he'll warm up to it.
I think his main concern would be his burnt skin and staples. He doesn't want you to be grossed out or have sharp metal digging into you. The last thing he needs is someone else he cares about pushing him away.
Dabi's not too bad at asking for affection. He prefers to just pull you into him but if the situation demands it he's not above asking.
"Hey, c'mere. Wanna hug?"
If you ask for or hint that you want a hug (or any kind of contact really), Dabi's going to tease you as he's moving closer.
Wants to keep his cool façade, but never wants you to feel like he doesn't care. He's been there before and doesn't want you to feel the same way.
Favourite place to spend time in contact with you is on a lounge, soft chair, or bed. Preferably somewhere quiet and away from other people.
Tumblr media
One of the clingiest people you will ever have the please of meeting.
Also one of the best at giving hugs.
Hawks is a naturally touchy person so you'll never feel touch starved when you're around him.
This guy somehow always has a hand near you, whether it's to rest it gently against your lower back when he's brushing past you, patting your head when you do a good job with something, or kissing the back of your hand when he just feel like it.
He just likes knowing you're there. It's his way of reassuring himself that you're real.
And if you ask for affection?
Both the teasing and the physical contact get turned up to eleven.
"Aw, does the little bird want some affection? C'mere!"
His whole being goes into those hugs. He wants to make sure you know how much he cares about you.
Hawk's favourite place to be give you hugs and affection in general is standing up somewhere quiet so he can wrap his wings around you as well.
Tumblr media
The only person who can compete with Hawks in terms of "the best hugger".
All those muscles mean the hugs are always the perfect tightness and always leave you feeling safe, comfortable, and loved.
I see Mirko as someone who likes physical touch a lot. It's her love language.
She appreciates peoples' boundaries, so if she every goes overboard with the hugs, all you have to do is let her know and she'll dial it back a little.
But let her go wild with the affection, and you'll have a buff rabbit lady clinging to you at every possibly opportunity.
And if it's still not enough affection and you ask her for a hug? You're getting swept up in the biggest tightest hug you've ever gotten from her!
"You want a hug? Sure thing!"
Mirko's favourite place to hug is anywhere comfortable and warm. A bed would probably be her favourite place because it's nice and soft and you two can cuddle up under the blankets if its cold weather.
Really, anywhere with a blanket around the two of you is her favourite place to snuggle.
Tumblr media
Canonically the most touch-starved person in all of My Hero Academia.
This is obviously going off the theory that Shigaraki wears those artist-type gloves that only cover two of his fingers, allowing him to touch things safely. He doesn't want you to decay.
He's still very cautious with physical touch so you're going to have to take it slowly with him.
This is a process of learning to accept physical touch for both of you.
He won't usually initiate physical contact so you'll probably have to ask for a hug most of the time. When you do, he'll still be hesitant but will shuffle towards you, holding out his arms.
"Okay, if that's what you want."
He doesn't mean to sound so abrupt. He wants a hug just as much as you do. He just doesn't know how to express his healthy emotions too well yet.
If he does initiate physical contact, don't expect to be escaping his hugs any time soon. He'll hug you tightly enough that you won't want to leave, even if you could. He just needs some love and affection.
Shigaraki doesn't have a favourite place to be in contact with you. He'll take what he can get, when he can get it.

I have a theory about why that guy didn't get Knight syndrome:
I firmly believe that each class in Sburb is basically a different take on what it "means" to be mature.
The Thief, for example, is for those people who think maturity means being yourself no matter what anyone else thinks, proving yourself to be useful in a material sense to the point that you cannot be disposed of, etc. while not really valuing the interpretations of maturity that focus on socialization, or doing what others want you to do, or not spending resources, or what have you.
To give another example, the Maid would be someone for whom maturity means doing your job. No matter how tireless, thankless, and generally exhausting it is. Someone who's idea of a mature adult does not particularly include moments of rest or relaxation beyond perhaps the occasional scheduled-out and earned vacation.
So my idea of the Knight is: in another game, where classes didn't have the one syllable rule, the Knight would be called the Soldier.
And not the actual reality of a Soldier, but instead, the sort of culturally idealized version. Someone who must fight. Not because they want to, but because they have to. For the money to support their family, to defeat an intolerable evil, for the sake of their friends, and so on.
And of course, the absolute most idealized version of a Soldier, must not enjoy fighting. They cannot revel in war. It is their grim task, that they must train to even be capable of performing, and that will scar them forever.
I think Knight syndrome is Sburb trying to force that last bit. Which it kind of needs to do, because you mostly just kill underlings in this game, and they are mostly not worth thinking about when it comes to morality. The task at hand, while still grim (creating new worlds that will themselves someday be destroyed to make more Sburb sessions), is almost the opposite of what this "ideal" Soldier should struggle with. They should not be fighting for a dubious goal, they should be fighting for a glorious one, but have to do awful things to get there, and the game (mostly) just isn't set up like that.
So if a Knight doesn't experience Knight syndrome, then I think by this logic there's a few reasons why that may be. That guy seemed to imply that he was generally following orders from others about what to do. I think that's normal for a Knight, as a passive class (bluh, something about that doesn't sit right with me, but that's a topic for another time) but I do think most Knights struggle with it?
I think that "following orders" is something the hypothetical Soldier class would be a bit mixed about. Obviously a lot of people's idea of the perfect Soldier *WOULD* disobey orders sometimes, to do what's right instead. But then, in real life, doing that could be downright treasonous.
So I think a gradient may exist. If there was ever a Knight who truly believed in their heart of hearts that following the orders of others was part of their duty, to such a degree that it should exonerate them of everything, that to apply their own will would make them a *bad* Soldier... they could perhaps skip the "put their emotions aside" thing that the Glitch FAQ says they are to do. No need for it. They truly and absolutely believe that questioning what they are doing is not something they are supposed to do, and so they don't.
And without that self doubt, the game can't spin up the syndrome inside them.
...Well, those are my guesses anyway. Sorry this was so long! Hope it doesn't read like total nonsense! I've only ever rolled Knight once, and personally my syndrome was so bad I nearly didn't make it through the session, so I'm not really speaking from experience.
The first bit on "Classes as a meant to maturity" is pretty commonly accepted game lore, which is not only corroborated in how Classes are attributed, but GGTG even made the "Knights are soldiers" metaphor originally. I understand it's building up to the main point though, so I won't harp on it.
A more critical misunderstanding is that Knight Syndrome is not exclusive to Knights. It happens to Knights *frequently*, most likely because the Knights have to suppress their own desires to act as executioner (as opposed to the Page, who achieves actualization through constant combat), but Knight Syndrome is found in both the Combat Classes. And if you're willing to entertain my iconoclasm, might just be a general "tendency" that we point out more frequently in the Combat Classes, in the same way everyone makes home bases and hideouts but we recognize a Seer's Den as being a specific thing for questionable reasons. The same way everyone gets hasty and makes an assumption that causes issues, but we pathologize it when Seers and Sages do it, even though I've never made an assumption that didn't end up being correct. But that's beside the point.
The point I AM getting at, is that Knight Syndrome, from my perspective, happens for a few reasons. Firstly, Page/Knight is assigned to people who don't want to fight in the first place, so breaking down and not wanting to fight later on hardly seems surprising. Second, while Underlings are basically negligible as far as killing goes, a Combat Class fights in a fundamentally different way. Other people fight Underlings they run into while doing a task, or temporarily go on a grinding spree when they need Grist. Pages and Knights are constantly getting sent to the really tough bosses, the enemies with nasty or tricky abilities, the Atomyk Ebonpyres, or "advanced Grinding duty", which is certainly more stressful than "normal combat", where those things are to be avoided or circumvented. Third, and more specific to Knights, it's the eradication of the self I alluded to earlier. Where the Page wields their Aspect like a weapon, it's not a stretch to say that the Knight is turned into a weapon by their Aspect. They have to walk up to other people, ask for permission to kill something, or get told to kill, and they walk off and do it. That's the essence of a soldier, and it can be quite dehumanizing. I know I hate being told what to do, so imagine my angst if my job for the entire Session is not only to get bossed around, but to constantly put my body at risk doing someone else's dirty work.
I do agree with your final conclusion though. If one not only doesn't mind the dehumanization inherent to soldiering, but in fact derives comfort or strength from it (strong sense of duty, abdication of responsibility, genuine love for challenge, weird sex thing), then it's unlikely to sap them of the will to fight, thus preventing Knight Syndrome. Though I do have to say, I still find the "I'm immune to Knight Syndrome because my brain is wired wrong and I'm literally built different" explanation to also be a compelling alternative. God personally hand-crafted that guy to be a Knight and like it.

Can I be really honest? I believe that most of people who don't like Annabelle Wallis and ACTIVELY spend time stalking her, her friends, what she does, where she is, etc, spread rumours, make conspiracy theories and the craziest assumptions about Seb, have a sort of inferiority complex. Annabelle is not what THEY want for Seb, they want someone who somehow can give them the validation they need from him, and find any excuse to talk shit about her and why he doesn't look happy with her.
Idk, maybe I'm wrong, but, while they are convinced that this whole thing is pr, I firmly believe they need to find something better to do than constantly talking about celebrities's personal life.
PS: just saying, I don't care if this is real or pr neither I have an opinion about Annabelle. I just think this whole situation is ridiculous.
Anon 2: The bravest are the ones who think they know what's better for his mental health as if they're his therapist or one of his close friends. Seriously, maybe that's the most upsetting thing tbh. Look, I struggle a lot with my mental health and hearing Seb speaking so openly about it and not being afraid to admit his weaknesses, warmed my heart. But this doesn't give us the right to dictate what he should do, to speak about his trauma and how he should get over them, to make assumptions about things we DON'T know. It's a bit disrespectful imo.
Anon 3: + sebastian said that dm isn't trustworthy / pretty ironic that he never said it, actually. Fans who hate DM keep twisting his words in that interview where he briefly mentioned it. Seems like it makes them feel better about their delusion: Seb told us to not trust these spottings of him&his gf, so relieving, they're all fake!
Anon 4: I find it ironic that the “it’s a fake relationship” side of fandoms are typically the most invested in the relationship. > Because they know it might be true. They keep saying it's fake to make themselves feel better, in hopes that if it ends, they'll say OMG it was fake, he never fucked her. Even if he gets married, they'll still say it's fake.
Anon 5: A pro-pr blog’s follower admitted they sent the fake spotting to mock AW and DM. >> How cool, so she confirms that DM sucks, and they can stop believing in DM when it's convenient like they've done for the last few years.
Anon 6: they sent the fake spotting to mock AW and DM. > uh? Do these fans really think Anna cares about the shit they write about her? Do they really think Seb didn't warn her about the crazy fans he has? She must be used to it by now because Pine. Anna and Seb are living their lives, she has nothing to hate. There's no mocking her with false rumors because she's riding his dick in London. Even who thinks it's fake, she's enjoying his company, something that won't happen to us.
Anon 7: Seb's lovely fans who bought them decided to crop her out and not post some shots🙄>> Doesn't mean they don't like her, many don't like fandom gossip. But, if I didn't like her, I would cut her out of the pictures. If you don't like it, don't look. The bad thing is sending hate, and participating in these hate blogs that make up lies.
Anon 8: "A pro-pr blog’s follower admitted they sent the fake spotting to mock AW and DM." Maybe we can all remember this the next time there's a blind indicating he's openly doing drugs and propositioning women with them at industry events when the reality is that he's created a network that includes some of the top women in HW (it's not chance that Nicole K is working w/ Mimi IMO) because (1) he's amazingly talented and (2) he's refreshingly noncreepy to women. Many of his fans have their own agendas.
Vamp - gossip is like a buffet....we all pick and choose what we believe to satisfy our own narratives.

I think that it's quiet interesting. But I'd like to add that getting interests from other people doesn't mean that it isn't the real you or that you don't truly like those things.
I'd explain with my own experience (it may not be as thoughtful as I'm at my job and ppl are being quiet 'pushy' today)
I am a neurodivergent person, and I think that Papyus is, too (ND monster, I mean) . When I was young I related a lot to him and I was over heels for my boi.
So, when I see these theories I tend to sometimes see some of myself in Papyrus, wich could psychologically explain my interest for him.
For example, right here with this post:
Papyrus seems to get his interests from others, right? Well, I do that, too. Sometimes is either for positive reinforcement or just wanting to fit in.
My favorite shows, games and hobbies have came from someone else, usually my older sister (ex. My sister likes art, I started to like art bc of her. My sister was playing UT and I decided to stuck with her and I loved the game. That and many other things)
Most of them were when I was younger, but now days I don't have another interest that differes from such.
I wanted to look cool to my sis, I wanted to spend time with my siblings, I wanted to make friends so I just followed and learnt about what they seem to do or like. If I don't I just don't get friends at all (most of my stronger friendships started bc we shared an interest, lol)
Also, when Papyrus gets asked what his fav food is, he doesn't know. I used to not know either(btw it's spaghetti, bc I liked Papyrus and he likes it and I like to eat it so i decided it was a great fit. Specially since it made me more Papyrus-y) , becuase I don't introspect at all, I'm "too busy" (Papyrus says he is too busy to even sleep)
So, I go through life based on goals (such as success, good grades in school in my case, being a Royal Guard for Papyrus) and spend my day focusing on my interests instead of self-care.
If people are perseptive they may know what you like even if you don't say so, based on what you're driven into and other stuff (Sans probably does that to get Papyrus' gifts, furniture, etc). It's like if others knew me better, others should tell what I like and what I don't. Perhaps it comes from the fear to be alone.
So, Papyrus wants to fit in, wants to look cool, doesn't know himself bc he rather go doing stuff than thinking stuff (this may come from insecurities, depression and other things. It's scary to look deep into oneself)
That may be the origin of what he is into, but it doesn't mean those things aren't truly of his like or special to him.
-He likes to cook spaghetti because every else loves it. So he wants to make others happy AND spend time with his BFF, Undyne (he prob thinks he'll mae more friends that way, too)
-He likes puzzles, that one seems from his own (or from the underground's norm. Being too rigid about norms is another thing we seem to share). And him saying that they're awful doesn't mean that he doesn't like them, he's being "objective" (yep, I do that, too. I don't like to be blinded by my preferences so I can tell it's pros and cons, admit if they are cringe and so on). If anything, it proves that he likes them so much that he doesn't care that they are awful.
-With his figures and race car, well, they were given to him by Sans, who IS very perseptive. Sans prob sees that he'd may be into those thing by hearing him talk, glance at things and o the stuff, he puts attention to Papyrus, and as Papyrus seems to really like the gifts (if Sans doesn't read to him the advanced puzzle or Fluffy bunny he'll get cranky, he dreams about having a car, he puts his figures on a table so they can be seen, they pretty much do a lot together, like Papyrus' battle body/costume, and so on)
He likes all those things genuinely, no matter if they came from someone else. He treasures something in those activities and stuff, and even seems to get into them deeper than others (omg, another thing we have in common. I get even more into things than the ppl I got them from)
Being influenced is not a bad thing, liking what gets you close to others shows that you cherish them and they moments you spent together.
Tho Papyus DOES have more to him than we know, I wouldn't call him a lier (according to certain theories), if anything he is insecure and ND, and if he is actually hiding some important plot stuff he must likely doesn't have a bad intention to do so or maybe would come out with something like "I didn't tell you because you didn't ask" (he is like me, fr)
Another thing is that ppl say that he lies a lot to Sans, but I don't think that's the case, it's just REALLY hard to know when they are joking or not.
TL;DR
Papyrus seems genuinely interested into those things, he just gets influenced by others and lacks introspection. Doesn't really need to straight out say what he likes bc it shows with behavior (you have to put attention to ppl like him to notice what he likes)
He may be hiding something (bc he really is smart and clever) but not with bad intentions/on purpose.
(If he turned out to be an actual lier I'd be broken)
Papyrus is so cool! Give him lots of love~ (without having to drag Sans down, pls)
P. D. Thanks for writing this bc I did some accidental introspective when I read this. It really helps to understand myself better.
And sorry if this is boring, messy, badly written and makes no sense. I am tired, at work, and wrote it with lots of interruptions and with no food in my stomach.
Alright, so you know how it’s widely believed that Sans is “The Judge”? How whenever he faces you in the judgement hall on a neutral run he talks about what you’ve done, who you’ve hurt, etc etc. while on a geno run, he’ll call you out on how many times you’ve faced him before? Well, I have a theory. Let’s say Sans is the judge, and this gives him the special ability to see beyond a check: your LV, your “sins”, how corrupted your soul has become. What if Papyrus can, too? Except...what if he can also see that Frisk is a puppet to the player?
He’s the only character to speak without an asterisk, he somehow seems to be able to see whatever room you’re in whenever you’re on the phone, he regularly looks directly at the player when talking to Frisk, and he’s the only character to give you game control based instructions (like “press the down arrow to do x”). Outside of gameplay, aka a couple of trailers and if you hack the game, Sans /also/ breaks the fourth wall, but not like Papyrus does, and only once in game (I believe) when he tells a bad joke and looks to the player as it zooms in on him winking.
So, what if the reason Papyrus won’t hurt you, is because he doesn’t just see the things Sans sees, but he sees beyond “your” stats, and sees Frisk’s? And if he knows about the resets, there’s no *reason* to hurt them. No matter how bad it gets. And maybe, this extends to Flowey. He could see that Flowey was actually Asriel, or what was left of him, and wanted to be a good influence, and help him learn abusing resets and treating the others like disposable garbage wasn’t the right way. And maybe, at some point, tried to convince him using his own abilities. Or maybe Flowey even crossed a line, and Papyrus had to set him straight. Or maybe he was even hoping to give him something to amuse him, and bide his time. No one knows. No one, except Toby.
But whatever it is, there is very clearly *something* unique about Papyrus. His text shakes, the asterisk thing, the player’s view thing, and he’s the only character you never *really* learn anything about.
Toriel? Ex queen, loves pie, loves reading, wants to be a teacher, loved her kids, was disgusted by Asgores cowardice
Sans? Loves science and astronomy, used to know Alphys, has a whole lab under their house with blue prints for the Gaster blasters with Wingdings writing on them and a mysterious machine, made some sort of mistake or something in the past that leads to him saying stuff like “you’ll never see them again” and “you can’t go back” to himself.
Alphys? Loves anime, building robots and machines, decent at puzzles, writes fan fiction, has social anxiety and a perpetual fear of disappointing others.
Undyne? *Also* loves anime, fighting, action stuff, is close with Asgore, likes tea and hot chocolate, hates cold food, is bad at making spaghetti.
Mettaton? Actually had a lot of self worth issues, is Napstablooks cousin, loves showmanship, doesn’t like puzzles, talks a lot of shit but actually cares for the monsters of the underground, and is close with Alphys.
Asgore? Loves tea, dresses up at Santa Claus and visits Snowdin for Gyftmas, loves flowers and gardening, doesn’t really understand puns, loved his kids (maybe one more than the other but I’m not addressing that right now).
Papyrus? Well, he likes spaghetti, right??? Nope, got that from Undyne, since she started giving him cooking lessons to keep him out of the guard. He most likely also picked up the hero schtick, as well as referring to himself in the third person, from her, too. Well, he likes puzzles right? He deliberately calls them useless or stupid or something at one point, and at another, mentions deadly spikes being a pillar of youth, implying it’s just what he knows to do. Ok, well, what about the race car bed? The action figures? Sans reads car magazines, and he probably started getting Papyrus action figures when he was younger, since that’s a pretty standard gift for a kid (and Papyrus isn’t very forthcoming with his own interests. Maybe he doesn’t have any). Okay, well he at least hates Grillby’s and greasy food! Yep, you got me there. Oh! But wait!! Upon Undyne getting excited about it, he changes his tune pretty quickly. So yeah, he does actually hate greasy food, but he’ll change his opinion on a dime if he thinks he’s supposed to. The only thing we *actually* know about Papyrus is that...he takes care of Sans. And lies a lot. And he’s good at painting, since he painted a rock face to look like a hyper realistic bridge. But that’s....about it. Oh, and his puzzles are unusually dangerous. So. He’s good at being dangerous and painting and he takes care of his brother, while simultaneously letting his brother take care of him. And that’s, quite literally, all we know about Papyrus. Oh, and his favorite food is the oatmeal with the dinosaur eggs, which the only person to know this was.....Flowey. Weird, huh?
Bonetrousle is used in most if not every Undertale trailer, and the two most unique characters in game, Flowey and the Annoying dog (Toby), have very special interest in him. He’s an odd job and a half, that Papyrus Undertale.

Ok so lets just say in theory that the bosses are either in a deep-sleep and are in a different form that traps them in it (Jevil = Jevilsknife or tail and Spamton = Dealmaker or puppet scarf) and say that at the end of the game, they’re somehow set free (whether it be souls or just free like they have a body again and are free from whatever corrupted them)?
What would the Addison’s reactions be?
Honestly I don't think they're so much "trapped" but more so that they choose those forms for one reason or another (like for example I think Spamton went with the Fun Gang because he didn't feel like there was a place for him in Cyber City and he got attached to Kris so might as well let them use him) though that's not really relevant to the question so! Let's get on with more angst.
Pink goes full worried parent mode, being all like "NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, YOU HAD US WORRIED SICK" and hugging him so tightly they nearly makes the poor guy suffocate. They apologize, tell Spamton they love him and that they'll gladly have him back at lightning speed (which means Spam doesn't actually understand anything, and they end up repeating themselves later, once they're both less emotional). It's hard for the both of them, because Pink still has some bad old habits and Spamton is bitter about being treated like garbage in the past, but... They want to make it work. It isn't going to do either of them any good to keep pushing each other away.
Blue tries not to be as emotional as Pink- emphasis on tries. Spamton doesn't look good and he doesn't want to overwhelm him, but also. This is the first time he's seen his brother in literal years, and not to long ago he thought Spam straight up died. So he still ends up crying and when he reaches out for a hug, it becomes abundantly clear he's really not ready to let go (if it were up to him, he'd just carry Spamton around for the rest of the day- no questions about it). He's also the one who keeps tabs on his lil brother the most- it's clear that Spam hasn't seen a lot of love in a while, so he wants to make sure he's taking care of himself, eating well, sleeping, etc.
Orange doesn't really react much at first because he's basically in shock. Like... Spamton had been missing for years, supposedly dead for weeks, and now suddenly he's here?? He's happy obviously, but his brain is kind of mush for a little while. He comes back to his senses after like an hour, and kind of justs... Tries to play it cool. Spam is dealing with enough stuff already, and he probably doesn't need another brother going crazy around him. So, for his sake, he remains calm and collected: doesn't pester him with questions, doesn't orbit around him at all hours, doesn't push too much for anything. He basically becomes a sort of safe space for Spamton- when he's too overwhelmed to deal with the changes in his life, he can count on Orange to distract him with mindless small talk and stupid stories about his costumers.
Yellow goes through about a dozen emotions in the span of their reunion, and spends basically all that time speaking non-stop: about how much they missed him, how awful life without him has been, asking how he's been, where he's been, who's that human behind you, etc. Sometimes he talks on top of Pink, which makes it impossible to tell what either of them is actually saying. Once things settle down a little, he spends a lot of time clinging to Spamton and making sure he's okay. He can be quite overbearing at times, but it's mostly because Spam is his only younger brother and he really can't stand the idea of failing him again. Spamton finds him annoying sometimes, because he doesn't like being treated like a kid, but it also brings him some comfort to see someone show just how much they care after years of solitude.

what's your Laura theory; your Eddie, and Angela theories? what do you think Angela meant by seeing the fire and how it's always like that? how do you think James managed never to know about Laura until getting to SH, if Laura and Mary were so close?
what's your theory behind Frank keeping the umbilical cord?
laura is my favorite honestly. sure she's a little shit but she's just a child, so people give her way too much shit. eddie mentions how he was verbally abused for his weight, but Laura says some mean things to him but he doesn't react violently. cus she's a kid! kids say and do mean things and don't often realize it. even then she still sympathizes with him on the "I guess I run away a lot too." kids try to relate, try to comfort, because it's what good adults do for them when they're upset.
she's also dealt with being sick and in the hospital, which is obvi how she met mary. and I think as Mary got more sick and more unstable, I personally think Laura may have witnessed this. maybe mary snapped at her, but later apologized and comforted her about it.
kids can understand a lot regardless of age, but can only conceptualize it in a childish way, hence her interaction with eddie in the bowling alley. also they met along the way to silent hill but it's never mentioned how they talked/interacted during that time either.
for Angela, it's easy. everything is on fire. it's a living hell. every day it's like that for her, agonizing, terrible, horrific and, much like fire once it's taken to a wild blaze, entirely out of anyone's control, Angela's most of all.
that was her otherworld. flames engulfing everything, and only she was experiencing this. James could only feel the heat that seemed to radiate around her, hence his comment as she went up the flaming staircase with the brutally destroyed bodies of her brother and father who did what they did to her so regularly.
she felt it was her fault, that she was damned and unsaveable and only necessary for her body and nothing else. that she was worthless, and it built up and built up until it felt like her whole world was burning around her. she was only 19, but spending her formative and important years suffering the way she did, she truly felt there was no good left in her, which is the reason she thought her mom left her for.
as for Eddie, you see his otherworld in the meat locker. awful, ugly mounds of unidentifiable meat slabs hanging all over. the first half had bodies that upon closer inspection were james, though i believe that had double meaning there. you also meet him in toluca prison, and he’s the only other person you encounter there. the meat locker was how he viewed himself. he ate like he did from dread, stress, anxiety. god only knows what the monsters he saw looked like. i bet money on it that they looked like people who mistreated him and pushed him to react the way he did, and that dog he shot. i’m not at all saying what he did was right, not at all. but i know he was in pain, just like everyone else (minus laura, she was mourning mary but hadn’t done anything, hence why she saw silent hill as just a strange little tourist town compared to everyone else.)
and honestly after a while of mary lashing out, james stopped showing up. he stopped talking to and communicating with mary, mostly because he couldn’t handle her and her illness and her mental state decaying as it was. i doubt mary had many visitors at all, so a bond was made between her and laura. she still had hope that she’d get better, and she wanted a child, so did james before it all went downhill. if you look closely you can see an infant’s face on the bubblehead nurses’ head, which symbolised both james and mary’s want for a kid, too.
anyway, james never learned about laura cus james just stopped coming around, stopped visiting. something people don’t often talk about is when someone is severely ill, it affects those close to them, too.

Not sure if this is a theory outside of the discord chat but I might have mentioned something about how Ted could have become Wilbur and if not then here is pretty much the origin
Tumblr media
But what about Miss Holloway? I definitely don't think that's canon (neither is the theory above) but what if there was a way to save Jenny? Webby can help citizens, that we already know. And seeing Jenny suffer for no reason could make the spider sympathetic towards her, perhaps enough that she attempts to save the poor girl. She gets Jenny away from 2004 and from her death, maybe teaches her how to protect herself. And who knows, maybe Jenny already had powers to begin with? Maybe that's why she was drawn to Ted and befriended him? Because he is different as well, he’s the Time Bastard. There's no proof of course, but I think it’s a cool theory considering we (I think) don't know Jenny’s last name and Miss Holloway’s first. And they are played by the same person. But assuming this is real, imagine how much more dramatic and emotional would be the first time Miss Holloway comes across Wilbur.
So excuse me while I go on a side tangent but (I saw someone else talking about this, I'll gladly link the post since I'm not going that in-depth with the concept here) Wilbur’s thing is, or rather isn't, forgiveness. Wilbur and Linda remember the past mistakes and often come back to it to hurt others.
Tumblr media
Tom and Becky on the other hand forgive and forget. So that also adds to my Ted = Wilbur “theory”. Because Ted’s thing is also remembering the past. And lack of understanding at times. Just like he dismisses Henry who’s trying to open up about his past (the wedding scene in TB) he, despite clearly liking Paul, often impulsively belittles him after Paul makes some sort of “mistake”. I mean, he's not too harsh sure, mostly just things like “you’re useless” or “you noodle” but I'm really trying to make an obviously fake theory seem a bit real here so bear with me. Now imagine what spending so many years seeing yourself become a monster could do to you. Ted is a self aware person (id say he’s too hard on himself-) so working for Wiggly would definitely take a toll on him. Even if he’s “evil” now, he’s not completely out of it. He knows what he had become. That would make him surely more bitter and cruel. Because it's all his fault and there's no turning back. He doesn't deserve another chance and he's not getting it. So why should others have it better? Why should Goodman? And if there's no turning back then why not go further? Not like there's a lot of choice now, Wiggly is ruthless and will get just what he wants. And Wiggly wants him to do all those awful things.
So now that in done with my “little” ramble I’d like to get back to Jenny. Well, not exactly only Jenny but overall what would her being Miss Holloway add/change in the universe. Firstly, whatever relationship her and Duke have, it would pretty much fit the criteria. Both Charlotte and Lucy have “stable” relationships. But whenever the action really happens their partners are left in a different place. Who both women are with is Ted. Just like Jon was in a different country and Sam was at his job, Duke is left in the real world when Miss Holloway goes to battle Wilbur. Also the angst potential of both Willoway and Ted x Jenny is incredible. What if Ted/Wilbur doesn't fight Jenny/Holloway the first few times just like he didn't fight Charlotte when she was infected and then when Wiggly commands him to, he kills her accidentally? Or maybe he doesn't know she’s Jenny and he finds out after he killed her? Or imagine how Jenny would feel when Webby would finally tell her that her enemy, the man she had sworn to destroy, is her best friend from many many years ago? Would she talk to him? Or attempt to rescue’ him from under Wiggly’s control? The possibilities are endless, really. I might write a fanfiction about it one day but for now I leave you with this fake theory

Light on me Ep 11
I think I get the point now though I'm not sure I do. I just think it's amazing we're in Ep 11 out of 16 and still don't know whom Tae-Gyeong will end up with. Things are not as clear as they unusally are in TV series because life is not clear as day. Decisions pop up in your head and you're lost at some points plus the others don't know the answer either. It's as simple as that: nobody knows anything about life. "Light on me" manages to mirror this confusion and love triangles in real life are not as easily to understand - when you find yourself in one - as shows might show it. That's why, despite of this ep being frustrating as hell, it stays interesting. I still wanna know. I still wanna see.
Things are getting more complicated with every episode. Everything is tangled and knotted together. Da-On's backing away has a lot to do with the comments he gets from other students, as well as what Tae-Gyeong says to him and despite what the teacher told him because the school president puts pressure on him. It's a whole mess, so let me try to explain it - mostly to myself.
So, we start off with comments such as "Shouldn't you at least explain yourself?" and "Aren't you a bit too open-minded?" The normal reaction is not answering directly, like Tae-Gyeong, or denying the rumors, like Da-On. This is their biggest difference and issue right now. Tae-Gyeong is not ashamed whereas Da-On is, probably because he feels people are disappointed of him. His problem is with expectations and only he himself knows what he truly feels. I think he believes it helps to not let others in, to not let them know, but he comes to realize by the end of this ep, he accomplished the exact opposite. People don't cross him any more and he doesn't thank anyone who tries to protect him from the hate because he's too selfish to see. He's lost in his head, devided into two possible actions and just doesn't care about the world. It clearly shows with him ignoring Tae-Gyeong who wants to sort things out between them.
Tumblr media
See, the thing is, a shitstorm is bad, it goes away, sure, but still, it's aweful, and it brings negative sideeffects with it, but he has the opportunity to not suffer that much. He's not the only victim here. Tae-Gyeong has a saying in this too and they could sort things out because Tae-Gyeong is the only one who can understand him at this moment, but Da-On chooses to feel even more horrible because he wants to punish himself for leading Tae-Gyeong on in the first place. Still, he looks selfish. He doesn't want to clean up the mess he made. That would mean actually spending even more thoughts on it. He doesn't see, the outcome would be more positive. So, yeah, Da-on doesn't believe in himself.
"You can say you're not okay from time to time."
"If your parents find out about this, you know we'll be in a tight spot."
Da-On doesn't dare fighting against the world, so he leaves Tae-Gyeong behind and verifies all the negative theories about what an aweful person he is, to escape the scenery and not be held as responsible any longer.
Tae-Gyeong is just lost at this point. Like I said, he's not ashamed and he never will be. He would even admit it. He feels responsible for what happened but he knows, he's not the only one involved in this matter, so he waits for Da-On to come, to reach out. But since Da-On doesn't, Tae-Gyeong addresses the matter. "Do you even want to talk to me." It's mostly ever been Tae-Gyeong being the first to say anything. It makes him feel like Da-On is totally fine without him, like he's not special to him, like he is as close to him as everyone else, though he knows it's not true, but Da-On won't appreciate him. He lets Tae-Gyeong believe everything the world says he is and Tae-Gyeong doesn't know what to believe. Should he believe what the world says or what he once saw? Is Da-On just good at lying or really feeling something? He chooses the first one. It's not like Da-On denies it...
Tumblr media
Da-On does seem selfish and he truly is but it's not like it doesn't affect him, it's not like it doesn't hurt him. He's just really scared of the world.
But he broke Tae-Gyeong by not being honest or sincere. Everyone deserves the truth and not "what's good is good". What does that even mean? Tagging along with everything because the other person will feel good? Others feel good about honesty, not fake smiles. Tae-Gyeong feels like he's just been the victim of one of Da-On's bice guestures. That's not only rejection, he can deal with that, no, that's fakery.
Tumblr media
Da-On runs off and Tae-Gyeong goes home alone. He then meets Shin-Woo who was waiting for him to check on him. Shin-Woo knows Da-On way longer and I think he knew before, this confrontation won't be good. He probably knows that feeling himself. So, instead of saying "I'm sorry", he tries to cheer Tae-Gyeong up, makes sure he doesn't feel small.
Tumblr media
"If you want to cry, just cry... I can't just leave you here but I can pretend I didn't see anything."
Guys, I want a Shin-Woo in my life. This man is teaching me how to comfort sad people, honestly. How can someone be so understanding?
Okay, so, let's get to Namgung because this man makes me smile every episode and he is truly a badass. He mostly has just one or maybe two scenes but he clearly has boundaries. Loyalty is extremely important to him. That's why he talked So-Hee down and that's why he goes to these inapropriate students.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I laughed so hard at their faces...
The other time I laughed - more giggled - was when these girls at Lee So-Hee's high school tried to figure out who might be the one behind the photo and they immediatly suspect So-Hee and even come up with the right explaination. Hah. Girls surely know how other girls think, what they are capable off because they don't speak directly. (I'm only talking about clichés here and So-Hee is such a cliché)
Well, I don't really know why I wrote this analysis tbh, but I had fun XD
This is just me trying to explain it to myself...

Today in the special section of little things my brain makes up when I'm not paying attention comes;:::::
Ghostale! Or maybe it already exists, it's a pretty basic plot
Basically, the 7 human souls are ghosts now and nobody (except probably Blooky, mad dummy and Mettaton) can see them. But they roam around the underground. The Au I'm talking about takes place in a genocide route.
I imagine Justice being like, the only adult among them and being annoyed because he can't talk about adult shit with nobody but also being like the papa bear of the group. I picture him being in Grillby's a lot just for the memories. He would probably feel embarrassed of dying in the dumpster and would be pissy everytime someone brings it up. When Papyrus dies he's kinda happy to have someone to talk to who doesn't have attention issues or doesn't want to be pet all the- oh forget it, it's Papyrus who we're talking about, he is all of that and more. Would try to explain Undyne why what she did was wrong probably.
Integrity is 100% in Waterfall everytime, she lost her tutu and her ballerina shoes but she still likes to dance around the waterfall. She would be sassying Undyne the whole time after she dies because her opinion of her is truly awful (bc she killed her or she saw how she killed the other humans) and integrity has to say whatever comes to her mind, ya know? Would totally call her "Crazy fish lady" and will be the first one to point out that Anime isn't real.
Kindness would totally go to the ruins all the time to see if a human fell down to give them good vibes. He's the first one to notice Chara's reborn and the first one noticing the murderous intentions of the player. Would try to cheer up Chara and try to make sure she doesn't get corrupted along the route, but he can't make it. He's truly sad about the monster deaths and tries to cheer them up after they die. Probably the reason why the other souls doesn't fight each other. Gets along with Papyrus pretty well.
Bravery spends most of his time walking besides Justice because he ideolices him. Reckless and agressive most of the time. Is hyped up in the battle against Undyne and tries to get a rematch against her after she dies, only to be stopped by Justice. He's the only one who doesn't completely care about the destruction of the monster kind unless Frisk follows the sadistic route, in that case he would hall them a coward and be pissy around them.
Perseverance follows Frisk around to follow the lv they recollect in order to present it to the other souls. He wouldn't care too much about the destruction of the monster kind until he notices that the kid has some demonic aura around and gets worried for the human kind, then he'll start plotting possible ideas to stop them. None of them actually functional. He still tries tho.
Patience just walks around waiting for everything to end. She's sad about the whole extermination but there's nothing she can do so she doesn't do anything. Inactive most of the time. Likes to lay down with Napstablook tho.
Chara gives the souls information about Frisk's stats, they're confused and scared at the beginning, but as the story follows they start getting used to the idea of killing monsters for power. They're neutral most of the time until their battle with Sans. They like Kindness because he reminds them of Asriel but it's annoyed about how he just stops every two seconds to console the fallen monsters. Perseverance creeps them out.
I think it would be neat to make a comic about it if the Au doesn't exists already-
Btw, i did a fanart a couple days ago, it's based in a theory that states that every undead monster is the living corpse of the fallen children, adorable, isn't?

I fell into the fandom again didn't i?...

so there's this guy in my grade. came to our school in 10th. buzzcut, definetely buff, wears the same leather jacket all year round. drinks monster in every period(at least in every period he shows up to). used to live in another village but recently moved right around the corner bc he got into trouble with his mom (apparantly also bc she found his weed) . yeah huge stoner also. from this girl i used to kinda like I heard that he's not a good person, he became super close to her best friend and ever since they've been close the girl in question started to kinda change. he apparantly sorta influenced her to steal(which, she got caught and got into massive trouble she couldn't mentally handle, she broke down i think) and also to smoke a lot. i heard her say she's starting to have issues with addiction. also from what I'm hearing about him it sounds an awful lot like he's trying to isolate this girl. she has a bf i used to know quite well and a whole group of friends, but when she's with him she's primarily with him. (also I actually heard him say 'you only spend time with your weird bf and never with me' in a joking manner but she went quiet and tbh. that's shitty to say no matter how since it also doesn't appear to be true). so in conclusion the guy is, from the stories I heard a massive red flag, however, there are two things, wait no, 3 about him. he's in my math and psychology class, in math he doesn't do much but talk too loud and lend sheets from me and others. but in psychology, he's the most educated guy in our whole course. he knows so much, without actually doing work in class at all. It's just probably his interest and tbh, since I am super interested in psychology, too, I could listen to him talk for hours. apart from that, he sometimes talks abt other interesting things. I could care less about muscle groups and proteins, but philosophy can be hella interesting and he knows about it. I get hella pissed when he speaks some times bc he's just so annoying and all, plus he's such a weirdo. but there are traits in him that I value, such as standing up for himself, proving his skills while disregarding the systems rules and restrictions, and of course his knowledge and will to speak about it. I cannot imagine being able to talk to him without going insane but I feel like I really want to, not even talk to him, just discuss. but also maybe I would like to know more about him, simply bc he's such an interesting person. as long as he doesn't talk to me i won't be talking to him, which i sort of see as a win, but kind of as a loss. whatever. now the worst thing about him is that he looks just like my fucking dad. and yk, that's weird enough to begin with, but also my dad isn't really in my life, so there's a teeny tiny possibility he's like my step brother or something.I mean I assume not bc he's talked about his dad before and I don't think my dad would manage raising a kid fully(sorry but my story approves this theory).yk what that's not even the thing, the real thing is that he IS just like my dad. looks like him, quite smart but doesn't put effort into school. potential in sports and physical whatever. and my dad dropped out of school and failed greatly because he developed a weed addiction. of course it's just a coincedence, but it's. kind of creepy seeing someone who looks like my dad's fucking clone with similar habits and traits. and i have suvh mixed (and kinda toxic/egoistical) feelings about him , that doesn't make it better.

"NoChoco to this day"
http://nochocolate.tumblr.com/post/134759853195/the-narrachara-theory-proof
Oh wow, what's this 2 year old theory that entirely contradicts what you're saying doing here?
"Have you heard about how fiction impacts reality"
Yes, I've heard this argument again and again. However, the thing to make clear is that the argument only works for those who are more predisposed to be influenced by things. For example violent media isn't likely to make common, everyday people substantially more violent. Rather people who have violent predispositions are likely to seek out violent media to encourage their desires to be violent by viewing it as acceptable. I think anyone who defines themself by what they consume has fallen into a trap.
But hey, let's argue from your perspective. Many people mentioned how they really appreciated NoChoco's theory, because they felt like Asriel. Abused by someone they look up to, and others around them thought could do no wrong. A lot of people find value in this narrative as well, and appreciate that NoChoco makes clear some behaviors to be aware of in victims of abuse, since it can be hard to identify. Is the relief they find in this theory somehow less worthy than your because you disagree with it?
"Tumblr is social media"
Yeah, and you can respond to her theories all you want, really them a million times. That doesn't mean you're entitled to a response.
"My original post"
I told you again, I read the first two points and skimmed the main points of the rest as I realized this was covering the exact same information I'd seen before. Sure, I could spend time reading it, making a well crafted response to each point again, but at this point it'd read similar to so many other responses I've made I can't even bother. Besides, I find a lot more joy in actually talking about why you feel the need to post this redundant information in an attempt for a moral crusade against NoChoco that I thought was ancient history.
But I digress, if you had condensed all your new arguments into one post as new information to bring up, maybe I would've felt motivated, but sorry, just can't bring myself to read something I've read before.
"The worst possible explanation (a child being abusive)"
Abuse comes in a multitude of forms. Not all abuse is the same level of awful, abusers can change. NoChoco doesn't make their post to say that Chara is an irredeemable hellspawn, and makes it quite clear that they think they could've been finely adjusted had they been given a proper environment to work out their issues. NoChoco just focuses on the tragedy that this didn't occur, and the results that happened (as she believes them to have occurred and from the behavior we observe in Flowey, she doesn't argue as fact). NoChoco doesn't even say Chara couldn't redeem themselves after the True Pacifist route. But you take this in the worst possible manner, as if any sleight against Chara is erroneous in claim.
"Why you believe that and you think no other viewpoint has a point"
Except I didn't. I said that up front "If someone gets something helpful out of [Chara], whether by casting them as an abuser of as a victim, more power to them. If you want to believe that were an abuser or victim more power to you."
Yeah, I see Chara as an abuser, that doesn't mean I think the other view point is pointless, even if I disagree. I said I found this post pointless, because as I've stated several times it goes over the exact same points as so many other theories before it, and does nothing much but dreg up old drama over this debate. Most of the people who find NoChoco's theory counter to their beliefs have likely seen those other theories I mentioned before, so it just serves as a restatement of those with all the shared points they have. If you did a post where you consolidated the new info you found, maybe I'd actually see the point, but I don't want to fully read and devote my time to scour through this post to find those new points to respond to.
Chara: Why Their Behavior Isn’t Abusive Toward Asriel
The idea that Chara abused Asriel, as presented in @nochocolate ’s “Asriel: How his Behavior Points to a Case of Abuse” post is disrespectful to real survivors of abuse due to the poor application of the abuse narrative. This isn’t to say that all stories or headcanons of abuse are disrespectful. However, I feel that the allegations of abuse in nochocolate’s  post are poorly-applied and thus disrespectful due to the bias that she uses in discussing Chara, the lack of impartial canon evidence about Chara, and the misconstruing of what is there in canon.
This isn’t an attack on the creators of the theory. I think the other nochocolate posts I’ve seen promote a higher standard of reasoning than this post and related Chara posts, which is one reason why I find it disappointing. And I wouldn’t normally make another discourse post about a fanon concept, because I don’t inherently like making these, but I feel like there’s been a prevalence of “abusive Chara” since this post was made and it’s become hard to ignore.
I’m dividing this 18k-word post into several parts. The first is directly replying to related posts made by Nochocolate that attempt to explain Chara and their actions. These are important because Nochocolate cites several of her own posts, and many of these posts skew canon or pass off headcanon as fact in order to portray Chara in a negative light, thus making it easier to see them as an abuser.
Then, with that contextual information, I will discuss what type of person Chara is actually stated to be in the canon. Finally, I will reply to the “Asriel: How his Behavior Points to a Case of Abuse” post itself.
