The advantage of rewatching Harold and Maude right before having to work on site for a few days is that every time I inch across the Dumbarton Bridge I mutter "possession of a stolen shovel" and crack myself up

#i mean i'd probably do that anyway but #harold and maude #thanks roxie for carrying on the birthday tradition of the bridge theater and doing an annual showing #though i couldn't find any evidence that this tradition ever existed (albeit in ten minutes on my phone before the movie started)#but i swear i attended at least once before the bridge closed #and had cake #i should revive my plan of visiting harold and maude filming locations #probably my favorite piece of art to come out of the 1970s #and the local touches add to the delight #my strongest memory of the bridge showing was hearing the moment the audience recognized the freeway sign in the background of one scene #with the exits to ashby and university #the murmurs of everyone going “ohhh i know exactly where that is”
