Alright I'll probably never actually write a fanfic but I have this AU ish kind of idea in my head for a Edwin x Cat King fic

So their paths end up crossing again and again, same tension and banter as before etc etc we'll something happens and the cats come to Edwin, Charles, Crystal, Niko, and Monty (yes they are all part of the DBD agency because I said so) and the Cat King is in trouble, turns out the Cat King used to be a witches familiar (hence maybe where a big part of his magic comes from maybe?) He is no longer a witches familiar (for secret reasons that i haven't thought of yet) and has been living unchecked which maybe a magic council finds out and is gonna punish him. So the DBD gang sets out to save his ass and as they arrive at the scene they learn that if he continues to go "unclaimed" or "bound" to a witch they will erase him from existence. It's a big affair, a big crowd of witches gathered around. The magic council call out to the crowd, asking if no one will claim this familiar? And unfortunately it's so quiet, you can hear pen drop, but The cat king expected this, he knew there was no one who would step forward and offer to bind themselves to him. He closes his eyes and is preparing himself to meet his end when a familiar voice calls out.

"I claim him!"

The cat king's golden eyes open in shock to reveal the crowd parted and there standing awkward and uncomfortable and maybe a little out of breath because he just barely made it in time. Is Edwin Payne.

That's just a jist of it :') I have lots of ideas but nothing ever really comes of them.

I'm not really the best writer and thinking about others reading something I wrote fills me with so much anxiety, but maybe one day.....

a/n: i return from the actual dead guys. live has been hectic as hell recently so im staying up late so i can get the part out to you!! its like 12am when im posting this so delusion is feeding me here

lia and riley crowd around you as you recount for the millionth time what happened at the rooftop party.

they've been at you all week asking what happened - it definitely didn't help when that stupid gossip account posted about it. so now you face the downfall of trying to be a decent human being.

clearly it worked out oh so well and everything is perfectly fine.

you've been drained all week working out a few details for your upcoming shows, going to the gym every day to stay in shape for said shows, dealing with lia and riley, the pile of emails and work related things you should probably answer but haven't gotten around to yet.

honestly all you want to do is curl up into bed and sleep.

a nap would be really good right now.

instead you're stuck here with lia pestering you about the whole rooftop ordeal.

"oh my gosh, we've been over this, as i said the last time you asked - which by the way was," you check your watch. "thirty minutes ago. i said hello, we stood there awkwardly for about six minutes i asked how his day was he said decent, he asked me how my day was, i said decent, i randomly blurted out that the stars were pretty and then proceeded to complain about the party, then said i was going home. end of goddamn fucking story."

riley just laughs at your frustration and lia grins sheepishly at you.

"im sorry, please let me stay here tonight."

shaking your head you get up off the couch to start making dinner. your phone starts blaring as you do and lia picks it up and launches it across the room. "its stacey." she says as you catch it.

"hey, stacey what's up?" you ask your assistant/ agent. she does a lot of shit for you honestly, its hard to keep up with what she does.

"i just got a call from someone on percy jackson's marketing team-" you drop the onion you were holding. "and they want to schedule a meeting with you sometime this week." the silence is loud.

"why?" you croak out

"they want to discuss the rumours going around." fucking finally you hiss internally.

"okay...."

"okay you'll do it? or okay you want to tell them where to shove their discussions?" stacey asks skeptically, having worked with you long enough to know your tones.

sighing you answer her, "okay i'll do it, but i want riley and lia there with me."

"of course," stacey replies likely jotting this down.

"and for the love of god not in a public space."

you hash out some more details and hang up turning to face to very eager eavesdroppers, "what do you want us for?" lia asks.

letting out another sigh, "guess who's meeting us this week?"

ok that's an understatement. he was- is livid.

he had only agreed to this stupid meeting because he managers had suggested to him it might be good to clear the air. what he wasn't expecting was y/n to agree, let alone agree with a list of fucking demands.

and not only did she come with demands she shows up thirty minutes late with her friends in tow.

once she settles in her agent leans froward and addresses percy's team as if y/n is incapable to do so.

"hello there everyone, how are you all doing today?"

percy's manager reply's out of curtesy before getting right down to business. "ok, i'd like to start by introducing myself, y/n i'm lauren i'm percy's manager and i organised this meeting because of the rumours i'm sure you've heard all about."

y/n nods. "yes i've heard of them."

"good because my team and yours have come up with a few ways to deal with the rumours." she place's a her hands on the table and leans forward when she talks. "the first and most obvious is for both of you to post an announcement that you aren't dating, but are simply friends and or acquaintances." you both nod at that. "the second option is to address the rumours via getting into another relationship - but obviously since you're both single right now its a poor decision." she takes a deep breath and flicks her eyes over to y/n's managers. "and the third and mine and stacey's most favoured one is that you.... fake date."

the silence the follows is deafening.

percy practically leaps out of his chair. "what the hell?"

"no fucking way-" y/n says at the same time.

"you've got to be kidding me," you both say at he same time you eyes shooting up to meet, stacey's and lauren's hidden smiles don't help the situation either.

"obviously if you don't feel comfortable doing that we understand," stacey says calmly.

"but if you are okay with that we can move forward with that plan... if that's what you wish for."

percy glares at y/n as she gathers her stuff and mutters "no way in hell am i doing that," before storming off.

her friends... lia? and... riley? stand up after her hastily making apologies, "we'll go.. get her, i'm so sorry about that."

stacey obviously knowing that y/n isn't coming back starts to gather all her stuff. "so sorry about all that," she looks at me and then lauren. "we'll have an answer by the end of the week."

as for bill, his favorite thing to tease rita about is how messy she is. i’ve already said it, but rita being a messy bitch and bill being a neat freak is one of my favorite headcanons about them sjdfhskjgffjs… you’d think being in the army would’ve taught rita how to put things away but no, bill finds her bras and stuff lying around all the time and it was awkward at first but he’s gotten used to it now, so he lets her have her little rebellion against army regulations and politely pretends that isn’t her. uh. underwear. wedged between the couch cushions next to him when he sits down to do Important Media Relations Major Stuff™ on his computer 😳

of course, by the time the morning rolls around bill is normally lying half on top of rita and drooling a bit on her shirt, which isn’t super sexy but bill will be bill 🤷‍♀️

7. What's their most and least favorite thing about each other? AHHHHHH oh my god. i have to think long and hard about this and it sounds like a cop-out but i truly don't think bill really has a favorite thing about rita. if you ask him what it is, he will actually spontaneously combust from thinking too hard.

but the short answer is her smile!!! he works so fucking hard to make her smile—cracking jokes, doing nice things for her, earning her praise by proving his competence—and he swears it lights up the entire room whenever he can get her to do it!!! 😭 and if he can get her to laugh? he won’t be able to think about anything else but that sound for DAYS

on the other hand, his least favorite thing about her is…well, probably her optimism. she's not very good at it. in fact, most of the time it just makes him feel worse whenever she tells him he’ll just have to try harder next time! like gee, thanks rita! he was already doing that but he’ll take it into consideration… just like he did the last time… and the time before that… and before that…

when it comes to rita though, she would never, even on pain of death, say anything sappy like her “favorite thing” about bill where someone else can hear her, but i think her favorite thing about him is—surprisingly, since it’s his least favorite thing about her—his optimism.

for her, it’s just been so long since she was able to enjoy things without feeling guilt or some kind of loss, but bill somehow never lost that. which certainly isn’t to say he didn’t acquire his fair share of trauma or grief or loss along the way, but he remains steadily resilient in the face of adversity even in the very last iteration—“we’ve had worse :)”—and that strikes a chord with her, i think. then, slowly, being around someone so stubbornly happy despite carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders starts to not only impress her, but it heals her. with his help, she learns to enjoy things again: the delight of a good meal after years of carrying a bad aftertaste in her mouth, the comfort of a spacious hotel room and a soft bed after sleeping on the ground for god knows how long, the satisfaction of a healthy jog just around the block after spending years running at a sprint with no breaks. the all-consuming joy of someone knowing her the way she never dreamed anyone would ever know her again after before. the relief of not having to think about 'before' anymore because now she has an 'after' to look forward to instead.

ahem. sorry. i got carried away for a second.

that being said, her least favorite thing about bill is easy to pin down and that is his complete and utter lack of dignity LOL... rita can say for absolute certain she has never met a man with as little pride as bill cage, and although he is rather funny and makes for surprisingly good company on a quiet day, he is often ridiculously embarrassing to be around and can be very difficult when he doesn’t want to do something because he’s being a chicken about it🙄

14. What little things remind them of each other? ohhhhhhh 🥺🥺🥺 i apologize because u will get a LOT of sappiness for this but-

on bill's side, he is reminded of rita in everything, but mainly in their experiences together. he sees her in a young woman's loosely braided hair as she passes him on the street. he sees her in his coffee cup when the waitress taking his order asks if he wants sugar or cream. he sees her in the sun at 6:45pm exactly, when he and rita sat together on the fence outside the farmhouse and watched it disappear over the horizon. in his lifetime, he's experienced everything with her, and he probably has as many things to remember her by as there are stars in the cosmos.

of course, he's reminded of her in other ways as well. things she taught him. he thinks of her when he looks to the sun to check the time rather than turning over his wrist, just like she taught him. he thinks of her when he does his stretches at the gym, just like she taught him. he thinks of her when he checks all his exits every time he enters a room and someone closes the door, just like she taught him. everything he knows he learned from her and for her.

it's harder for rita though, because she doesn't have anything to remember him by, so she remembers the little things instead: his preferences and whatnot. she pretends not to care when he tells her where he's from or what his favorite color is, but she thinks of him when his favorite baseball team is shown on television, or when she goes for a walk in the park and it starts to rain even though it's sunny out because sunshowers make him smile the brightest :')

26. How are they with PDA? UGHRGRHREHGHUDRHGJSHRKHASG DONT MAKE ME THINK ABOUT ESTABLISHED BILLRITA AND PDA ILL EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no but bill has ALWAYS been a pda guy that much is so obvious!! i think he was always chasing something real with his old girlfriends, and even if it never felt like much with them, it was better than nothing... and then he fell head over ass into the mimic war and the closest thing to PDA he got was a kick in the gut or the barrel a gun trained on his temple, so surely no one can fault him for craving comfort, reassurance, intimacy—anything to take him away from the reality he was living in for even 5 seconds.

...and this did not answer the question at all which is to say bill is SO fucking annoying (affectionate) about pda 😭 rita please hold his hand please kiss him on the forehead please cuddle him he wants to hold you he wants you to hold him PLEASE!!! he will actually die if you don't and then you'll be sad (he hopes) :'(

meanwhile rita is a fan of pda in the way cats are a fan of anything. she either wants all the fucking pda or none of it. if she's not the one initiating, bill is Not the one getting it 😔

Hello~ hopped over from AO3 to Tumblr after reading your fic (which is wonderful btw) - hope you don't mind! As someone who frequents the barren AO3 tag and then saw your askbox title I had to stop by.

Anyway actual question! I'd love to hear why the Claire/Steve dynamic appeals to you. Whether that answer be about the characters or anything (or if you don't want to answer at all, that's totally fine too!), I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as a fellow burnfield shipper/writer. It'd be like a little author's commentary track for when I reread your fic!

Thank you again btw, your comment on AO3 had me totally elated; I didn't really expect anyone to actually read my fic, and then actually like it 😭

The boring part of why I like Claire and Steve together is because they are both two of my favorite characters. Steve is my #1 favorite RE character, and Claire is in my top 3, I just love them both a lot!

But on their actual relationship, I'm a huge fan of characters that would do anything to protect the other. Claire starts CVX and DSC clearly not expecting much from Steve (and in CVX, I'm sure it doesn't help when he gets caught in that trap in the Palace really early on and she has to rescue him lol), but there is a clear, gradual warming up toward him as the game goes on, even if she's hardened up a little since the events of RE2. She's very gentle with him even when Steve can be a bit difficult, like when he has to shoot his dad and is upset afterward or when he says guns are more reliable than people. Her reaction after his death which i'm still in denial about haha is just gut wrenching, she seems so distraught and it shows how much she'd come to like him.

And from Steve's side, he's obviously lonely, dealing with the tragic circumstances of being imprisoned by no fault of his own, his mother dying, the disappointment of what his father did. He has a hard time trusting people, and that extends even to Claire early on. I just love how you can see his feelings for her start to grow and how he finally has someone to trust.

One of my favorite things about the Cleve/Burnfield ship are the times Steve is quick to try to protect Claire, even though she's obviously the more capable one. He's just a civilian and is clearly coping with the horrifying situation they are in with humor and things like that, but even so, he still does things like rush in front of Claire when they confront Nosferatu. It's just so sweet ❤️

And even if Darkside Chronicles isn't technically canon, it's so fun seeing Claire and Steve together for almost the whole game. They grow to have such a fun, playful rapport with one another. Darkside Chronicles also gave me one of my favorite moments when Steve is ready to pilot that plane out of Rockfort Island and Claire puts her hand over his and they pull that lever together, ahhhhhh it's such a short but soft little gesture

Sorry this got SUPER long!!! I was happy to have the perfect opportunity to gush over Claire and Steve lol, thank you so much again for the ask!!!

Coming up through one of the biggest clubs in the world (Man U) is going to do a number on you, I think both of them have navigated it exceptionally well (eh, bar a few bits but I digress!!!) and this has probably made them even closer. Especially on the international scene, they’re both so bloody young!!!! Exceptional talents and to keep a level head through it, Jesus, it’s so be commended. 

I wasn’t aware of Jesse having to be a young carer for his siblings/deal with his mums depression (chronic illness) at a young age. Him and Rashford (with his own challenging childhood with food insecurity/single mum doing her damn best but holy shit the woman worked so hard) mirror each other beautifully, having to grapple with some of the most difficult challenges at a young age. That shit is TOUGH and no emphathy/sympathy from someone whose not been through that will every quite be the same as someone who HAS been through it. And this is before getting to the fucking vile racism both of these guys have faced.  Especially Rashford after the penalty incident in the Euros 2020 final (PS: Gareth if I see you it’s on SIGHT for what you put Sancho, Saka and Rashford through). 

What hasn’t been said about Rashford? A sincere and wonderful role model, he’s saved lives with his campaigns and put his neck on the line for equality. He is absolutely an hero but still that lovely young man. Ah, could spend all day waxing lyrically about him. Lingard seems like a great lad too (bar drink driving lol) and these two clearly care about much more than themselves.

Hey, Jenn! Random question. I know authors usually get some free copies of their books when traditionally published. Do agents get any too? If not, is it customary for an author to send their agent a copy?

Agents get copies. (How many is specified in your contract -- it might be something like 25-30 for you, 5-10 for your agent). I'm constantly asking for FEWER copies, because while YES I absolutely want and need A COUPLE of copies, I rarely need a ton of them nowadays, since foreign rights etc can be done mostly via email/PDF, unlike back in the day when we needed to send a ton of hard copies everywhere.

In practice, what this means is, I get between 5-10 copies of every single book I rep. Sometimes, randomly, a lot more. (I recently got 5 CASES of one title? WHY.)

At least 50 client books come out every year. (Last year 65 came out!). So I get box deliveries weekly, often multiple per week, and have to find a place to put 300-600+ extra copies of books annually. At this point, I literally can't even open the boxes because I'm so overwhelmed because there's NO ROOM AT THE INN, so my kitchen has a corner that is just a teetering stack of two months worth of boxes waiting for SOMEBODY in the house to get sick of staring at it and deal with it before it topples over and crushes the dog.

(Yes, I give extras to my local library -- they also have no more room. Yes, I put them in Little Free Libraries. Yes, I send them to classrooms, do you know how expensive postage is? Yes, I give them as gifts, Yes, I take them to conferences and give them away, Yes, I often send boxes of them back to the authors, and half the time they are like OMG WHY STOP TOO MANY BOOKS PLEASE NEVER DO THAT AGAIN, and by the way, somebody has to organize all this madness, pack up cartons, ship them hither and yon, and I don't have time for it! AHHHHHH)

Actually there's something goofy I came up with that I sent to theamityelf and Fala in asks that I thought I should share. A Komaedaverse gathering where it's revealed that there's at least one universe for every Nagito ship. And the Nagitos at the gathering form clubs with other Nagitos who are also in a relationship with their respective partner. Where they gush about how much they adore them.

For obvious reasons the joint Komahina + Kamukoma club is the largest. With even some of the other clubs' Nagitos being granted honorary membership (since it's hard to find a Nagito that doesn't crush on a Hajime even just a little). There's nothing that'll make a whole bunch of Nagitos start giggling like schoolgirls like shouting out the word "Octagon". But you've got others like the Komaegi club, the Komanami club, the Matsukoma club, the Komamiki club, clubs dedicated to those three rarepairs I mentioned in the other asks, and many others. And of course Nagitos in other polyships can have their own multi-memberships.

They all like to gush about ways their respective partners will show affection. Take those three when it comes to kissing for example. Fuyuhiko will sometimes shut Nagito up by grabbing him by the collar and pulling him in for a kiss on the lips. It leaves Nagito a blushing mess. Imposter will put him on their lap, wrap their arms around him, and give a comforting kiss on the forehead. Which just makes him melt in Imposter's arms. Mahiru likes to do surprise kisses by approaching from behind, wrapping her arms around his waist, and kissing him on the cheek. Some Nagitos eventually get the courage to return the favor to their Mahiru. After which they get flustered and apologetic, being all like "Oh no, was that too much?". Only for Mahiru to assure him she likes this newfound confidence after getting over the surprise.

Though it's not always peaceful. Occasionally little fights break out between the Nagitos in regards to certain partners. The Komamiki club is made up of fiercely loyal Nagitos who are ready to throw hands with the "Mikan-skeptical" Nagitos of the multiverse, that are all like "What do you see in her, dude?". And of course the Junkomaeda club is super-controversial.

No and yes, you can send in flirty things, suggestive things, hell even on sunday idc if we do nsfw. Sometimes it builds to a ship, otherwise, if you want to solidify it and actually become partners, then yes - just pop into the DMs to beat me up or demand we become locked in together.

I do love shipping, I don't like there is a general dislike that one shouldn't be shipped obsessed. Yes, write romantica, erotica, whatever your dreamer little heart desires because it's fun. Just be mindful, kind, and respective that's it. That being said, I sometimes fall into that category cause I too have a soft marshmallow heart. Sometimes my little blob brain is just, hahahahahaha kissies, anyway! that's a good question. My only thing is that the ship is meaty, then I become utterly enthralled by it since there is an actual excitement between both parties. I do not like to be the only active participant in a ship that is trying so hard to make it work, it feels like a waste of time then, so I guess that's how I do become ship obsessed.

3: Welcome Home: Vigil fic lol First ever thing I published on the internet.. Only 412 o words, thought people would hate it but I still get kudos and bookmarks on it 3 years later lol

It is yet to be written! But I do have a mildly angsty one in mind.. Not a not happy ending.. Just happyish lol

Yes.. Im a much better smut reader than writer I can tell you that lmao.

I mean at this point I think we have just accepted Jane into the Happy Valley landscape, so much so that its sometimes hard to remember she's plucked straight (or gay ;)) from another show. So I guess almost all of my works are crossovers haha

Lmao well anything Ive started I always have doubts I will complete. I am (very very slowly) writing my first book...and I have doubts but I am working through them!

I dont really know.. I think jokes? Funny is most important!

lol Grammar, formatting, imposter syndrome, actually writing lol. All things that I am working on. I also need to plan better to stop writing plot holes lmao. remembering fic is just for fun!

Published: Vigil.. I also wrote some unpublished Killing Eve and Doctor Who fics that will never see the light of day as I wrote them by hand (lol) and lost the notebook I wrote them in. So I hope who ever found that notebook enjoyed them lmaoooo

ahhhhhh I dont know. I think Year of the Dog was the first one I wrote and was like: "Ok I can do this writing thing".
