Cornwall big cat the size of Alsatian spotted in a field
A second cat ‘at least the size of an Alsatian’ has been spotted in a field in Cornwall, as Britain’s big cat outbreak continues.
Becky Abrey was celebrating her 29th birthday with a family meal when she spotted the huge beast in a car park by Praa Sands’ beach in Cornwall.
The family had Sunday lunch yesterday at the Sandbar in the seaside village before spotting a large black cat on their way back from a walk on the beach.
Becky Abrey, 29, compared seeing the cat to seeing the ‘Loch Ness Monster’ and now believes there are big cats in Britain
Her sighting comes just days after the small village of Harrowbarrow in Cornwall spoke of their fears a large panther-like cat was stalking them.
Ms Abrey was celebrating her 29th birthday with a family meal when she spotted the huge beast in a car park by Praa Sands’ beach in Cornwall
Concern was raised for the safety of children and animals after five domestic cats went missing and a Labrador was attacked by a ‘panther or puma’.
Forensic experts were called to the village near Callington in Cornwall and took a plaster cast.
Officials confirmed the prints – measuring almost five inches – are that of a big cat and police say ‘something has been here which should not be’.
And hopes the big cat outbreak could be contained have now been dashed after Ms Abrey’s sighting near Penzance, Cornwall.
She said she had always had doubts about the reported sightings, including many of those linked to the so-called Beast of Bodmin.
But she is now a believer in the huge beasts – after seeing it with her mum, Kim Cutter, and fiance Jon Jones.
She said: ‘We had just had Sunday lunch and went for a walk on the beach and came back to the car and it was just on the field. It was the car park opposite the bar and looks up towards the field.
‘I was on the phone with my fiance’s grandmother who was wishing me a happy birthday and just said, “there’s a big cat, I’ve got to put the phone down”.
The sighting comes just days after James Stephenson, 23, said his dog was left bleeding from its injuries and with claw marks on its shoulder
What is the Beast of Bodmin?
Said to be haunting Bodmin Moor, northeastern Cornwall, the beast is described as a phantom wild cat.
Seen since 1978 the cat has roamed the moors and been seen on multiple occasions by stunned passersby.
Evidence of its existence include mutilated livestock, a sighting of a large cat skull in 1995 and witness accounts.
Scientists deny its existence after an official investigation found no evidence of the cats.
The sighting comes just days after James Stephenson, 23, said his dog was left bleeding from its injuries and with claw marks on its shoulder
‘I’ve seen so many articles about them and there are never any pictures of them and I wanted to get pictures and video.
‘I saw the one this week and was thinking, “does it really exist?”
‘Now I’ve seen it and know that it does.
James Stephenson, 23, said there had been talk of the beast in his village of Harrowbarrow for a few weeks
‘I didn’t want to get too close and zoomed in and out so you can get some perspective. It was at least Alsatian sized or bigger.
‘When I read about them I always think, “it’s just a decent-sized farm cat” but this certainly wasn’t.’
She added: ‘It’s crazy. I still can’t quite believe it. Honestly, it was huge, far bigger than any domestic cat.
‘I feel like I imagined everyone saw it. It’s like seeing the Loch Ness Monster.’
The sighting comes just days after James Stephenson, 23, said his dog was left bleeding from its injuries and with claw marks on its shoulder.
He said there had been talk of the beast in his village of Harrowbarrow for a few weeks.
And two days before it attacked his Labrador, Marley, he came face to face with it himself.
He added: ‘Over the last couple of weeks we have seen this large black cat walking down the back wall of the field at the back of our garden.
‘We’re not sure whether it’s a puma or a panther but it’s been confirmed that it’s a big cat.
‘It’s a great concern. None of us are resting properly at night.’
A large panther-like big cat is thought to be stalking the small Cornwall village of Harrowbarrow. Prints of the animal were left in the garden of James Stephenson, 23, and later examined by the RSPCA who confirmed they were from a ‘large cat’

Ramblings From An Alpaca Farm In South Wiltshire: April 2017
It's 17 months since Sue, Angus and me saw a young Qjori in a field in Tasmania. We saw in him something particular and merely needed to have him as a part of the Patou herd. Earlier this week he carried out his first mating. Yesterday he repaid our religion in him. He will be competing at the Bath and West and The Devon County and if I am sincere I can't wait. So to sum up, an excellent show for us, 5 animals entered - 1 x Reserve Champion, 1 x First, 3 x Seconds and a fourth. It's a splendid venue and splendidly organised by Lyndsey Skinner. We'll sadly miss the second day as I am laid low with a gout assault. I also had the privilege of taking Outdated Stour Edwina's Journey into the ring. She is a gorgeous little fawn lady who has been dwelling and training with the Mighty Patou Present team this year. In a really large class she took first place and then went on to take the Reserve Champion ribbon. Depending on the area, pumas are also known as cougars, mountain lions or panthers. This territorial, solitary cat is a stalk-and-ambush predator, feeding on deer, elk, moose, sheep and domesticated cattle and horses. Pumas can live out in the open but prefer areas with dense underbrush and rocky areas. The jaguar is among the "big cats", smaller than only the lion and the tiger. Although its coat intently resembles that of a leopard, jaguars are typically bigger and have a sturdier construct. Jaguars desire dense rainforests as habitats, and are sometimes found along water. They are one of the few big cats that like to swim. Coatis are members of the raccoon household. They've paws and markings just like raccoons, stroll on the soles of their toes and are double jointed like raccoons. Coatis are very good, have robust limbs and prefer to dig. They're energetic during both day and evening.
Usually, nevertheless, I'm nicely up for something, most of the time, going through life head on and by no means taking a backward step, a form of semi-everlasting private environment of 'carry it on! Till I'm somewhat bit drained or emotional after all after which I need consolation and relaxation (often in the form of spicy meals and wine) while the batteries recharge. I never seek or want sympathy, it is very rarely deserved and though publicly to some it could appear as if I am sulking at instances, I am not. So what's the purpose of letting you have a glimpse into my inside world? Nicely it's the topic of alpaca showing. Last weekend we took a small crew to Alpaca Showtime, a particularly effectively organised and laid on present on the HQ of the mighty Houghton Corridor Alpacas. After the Nationwide and the Futurity the following largest show I feel?
Whereas these are essential criteria, it's necessary to recollect just how necessary good housing is to your flock's general health. The government formed a physique called Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC) within the UK to overview the welfare of farm animals. Their framework is known as - The 5 Freedoms. It offers a logical basis for the welfare of animals. It is a good assist for any would be hen keeper to make right choices based on the council's advice. The five points are. Freedom from hunger and thirst. You need to have prepared entry to recent water. See if the feed containers are correctly suspended. Examine up whether or not you and your rooster have access to uncontaminated and recent water. Freedom from discomfort. Is the surroundings and shelter proper? Is there sufficient house? Is the house the place they are sheltered free from dangerous components? Is it water and wind proof? Are there correct nests and bins?
She did, in grand type and ever since she has been probably the most spitty alpaca within the herd. She also kicks like a mule, typically at nothing in any respect, she does it only for enjoyable. She also is the loudest screecher. We don't have a decibel meter here in Patouland however I would get one. I'm positive she is breaking some form of laws when she is on full throttle. Briefly, Penny, who has a fabulous fleece by the best way, is a little bit of a pig to deal with. Now fortunately with my huge mits I'm excused inside examinations. Sue being a midwife has teeny tiny touchy feely fingers and is significantly better suited. Sue will tell you that internally inspecting a human and an alpaca are a great distance apart on the similarity stakes. Apparently in humans Sue both feels the highest of an enormous head or a bum. In alpacas there are legs and necks in every single place. We have got it lined. We have bought it lined. While we had been in Barbados last month I frightened in regards to the alpacas. I nervous about them due to the onset of the winter weather again within the UK. Though whilst on vacation we endured Hurricane Tomas, it was a warm hurricane, certain falling bushes may do damage, the patio furniture blew into the pool however the weather itself wasn't going to cause us any undue stress. Nonetheless, the high winds did make me assume about the situation at residence, within the alpaca discipline. In consequence by the point we landed again at Gatwick I was a man on a mission, I was fully blinkered, nothing would cease me from my process, I used to be obsessive about offering extra shelter in the field. It could have had one thing to do with the fact that I travelled mild on vacation. I left the UK wearing shorts, a polo shirt and sandals. Apart from my swimmers (or my budgie smugglers as the Inca King called them) I had little or no else.
