“Convinced forever that we were meant to be.” she said softly as she held their daughter close to her chest. “We’re a good team, you and me.”

Chase smiled as he watched Serena. How could something so perfect come from him? “Where’s baby boy?” He asked, with a shrug. “You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Avani smiled “He’s still asleep, little dude hasn’t woken up for the boob yet.” the woman said as she leaned her body against Chase. “You are amazing, baby, I don’t know what I would do without you.”

“I love you too my angel more than anything in this world.” He kissed her forehead. “You are. It’ll get better. We will get better once we master what their cries mean.” He rested his head on her shoulder. “You don’t have to thank me baby. I’ll do anything for you.”

Avani brought up her daughter and patted softly on her back to burp her “Aw she’s looking at her daddy.” the woman said as the girl let out a burp “Well excuse you ma’am.” she giggled “You are the best thing to ever happen to me.” she said softly to Chase.

“It doesn’t matter sweetheart. I can stream anytime. This is what truly matters.” He sighed, referring to the family they created. “Babies cry. That’s how they get use to their own voices or something.” The man stated, trying to reassure her. “For that she makes it seem like we are just letting them cry it out, which we are not.” Chase wished her mom would shut up. “I know you are Ava. You’re a great mother.”

“I love you so much.” Avani said as she choked up a little bit and looked at her boyfriend “I know they cry but I always feel bad when I can’t soothe them, it makes me feel like I’m not doing a good job.” she said as she swallowed the lump in her throat. “thank you for dealing with me and for loving me no matter what crazy emotion I’ve been feeling.”

Chase had been doing a stream when he heard the babies crying. He paused the game which he knew would upset people. “Sorry guys but duty calls. I’ll try to be on later.” He walked upstairs but stopped at the door when he heard her talking to someone else. As he listened he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He wanted to jump in but held himself back. When he knew she was done, Chase walked in, crawled on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. “Whatever she said is a lie. She doesn’t see what you do for our children everyday.”

Avani looked at Chase when he walked in “Sorry about your stream baby.” she said softly as she looked at the little girl who was still feeding. “She was just telling me that she didn’t think I knew what I was doing because she heard how loud the baby was.” Avani said as she sniffled again “I’m really trying my best, Chasey, I am.”

Avani had been on the phone with her mother just as her daughter let out a cry “Mom, I know what I’m doing, please just stop.” she said as the tears ran down her cheeks as she sat down on the bed “I thought you and dad would be supportive but now you’re making it seem like I’m not a good mother but I am, mama, I am.” she said practically sobbing at this point, her daughter now quiet as she began to feed her. “I can’t do this right now, please just give me some space, please.” she said before hanging up the phone, she looked at the little girl in her arms. “I’m good to you right? you’re healthy, happy for the most part, you and your brother are my world.” she said with a sniffle.
