#i say this but they'll probably make everyone do very average and normal things like literature or law or history etc
Note
Which college majors you think that prsk charaters will have?there will be future events exploring that part of the future? Some character are easy to know which college major they will have like kohane with photography or with ena are sure that there will be a event where she decides if she wants to go to art university or not.but with others are more insecure, like what type of career outside of being a idol midori will what or what careers the rest of vbs will do????😭😭
i'm assuming that since MMJ moved onto the credit course, they'll do whatever the university equivalent of that is (or just not go to university) since they'll probably get even more idol work once they're adults and have less restrictions on their contracts. as for everyone else, it's hard to guess this far in advance since some characters might change their minds or find something that interests them much later on. but i'll write down some thoughts anyway.
shiho i imagine will do something music related, maybe there's a major where she could just do bass? honami previously mentioned that she wanted to be a caregiver, and even though she's going pro with L/n now I could see her doing something connected to that for university. Saki strikes me as the type of person who'd struggle to pick one, she'd probably find a lot of different courses interesting. I'm not too sure about Ichika, maybe something music related as well?
Like you said, I imagine photography is something that Kohane would take in uni. For Toya, maybe something music related, like composition? It goes well with his character arc, especially considering Walk on and on. As for Akito and An, I'm not so sure. Neither of them get outstanding grades, so I imagine neither of them will do something very academic. Maybe something in music or sports?
Nene and Tsukasa are definitely doing theatre, specifically acting. the question is if they study abroad (they've both noted their desire to travel abroad although we do not know if this applies to university). Rui i imagine will either do some sort of engineering course or technical theatre course if that's something that's available. Emu probably some sort of economics or business course since she's going into the family business and she's got the smarts for it. If not, iirc it's implied her sister does some sort of childcare course (she mentions working with kids in the Lion Dance New Year event), so maybe something like that.
Niigo is the biggest question of if they'll go to university. If they do, I think Ena will do art, but that's a more obvious one. Mafuyu, if she's in a fit enough state by this point, I reckon will do nursing. She's been realising that it was her dream before her mother trampled it now, but we'll see how things go. With Kanade, it depends on if she's in a fit state again. If not she'll probably continue with online school (i think this is more likely tbh but we'll see how things play out). Music composition for her obviously. Mizuki doesn't have the best track record with school, but I imagine they'll do fashion like their sister. Maybe even the same school, but that would require them to go abroad (they have Nightcord though).

Dp x Dc or just Dp things I (personally) want to see more of.
Just some stuff I've seen and really liked but never see enough of.
Danny is very casually a genius and/or skilled (engineering, gymnastics, really any skill you pick):
There isn't enough of it tbh. I dont think people realise just how smart and skilled he is. Being a ghost probably made him very flexible and gave him extra abilities the average human may not have. Also he comes from a family of scientists, yeah maybe up against them he doesn't seem smart, but being "smart" comes in different forms. More often than not the ability to be smart comes from your ability to pick up on things, retain information, understand information, and use that information accordingly. Danny does that, especially with his villains. He even finds outside the box ways to defeat his villains. Like tricking Freakshow into becoming a ghost.
I just think its under utilized. A lot of Teen heros are geniuses but no one ecknowledges it. Hell, you can make it that Danny doesn't even realise just how smart he is. He doubts it and often thinks he's one of the dumber people in the room. But when sleep deprived and running on a cup of coffee he can solve a problem he hasn't even seen before the konk out for an hour.
Danny has BEEF with the JL or isn't outright a fan:
In a lot of fics the JL (especially Batman) are huge hypocrites. Like they'll barge into Amity trying to solve problems that don't even effect them, screw things up more, then offer Danny more training. Hello????? You guys being there caused the problem???? Then, in other things Batman preaches about territory and Danny will get threatened or treated with suspicion for even stepping foot NEAR Gothem, but then barges into his territory like its his buisness.
Let Danny call them out. Let him point out that everything has been fine untill they showed up. Let him get MAD. This is HIS territory, HIS haunt, HIS people. These guys have done nothing for him! Why should he accept their help when their help only makes things worse? In fics where they help him because he needed it and ended up in Gotham let him be suspicious and careful. He doesn't need to be vivasected or hurt to be warry of the crime fighting furries he just met.
Mans has the experience to know you can't trust anyone untill they prove you can.
Danny should be casually overpowered and spooky:
This isn't even he has to be experienced. He is so used to his powers he doesn't realise how scary it is. He will casually stop a punch from superman, laugh, quipe, then punch back.
He accidentally breaks stuff, walks through things, glows, its so normal for him. He apologizes and does it again because he forgot. He genuinly has no idea how strong he is, he just knows he needs to be soft on humans.
Danny and Phantom are very different personalities:
I'm not saying they're two different people. They have the same mind same person. But the way they act is so different. Danny is grumpy, quiet, whimpy. Danny is a loser, and everyone knows it. Phantom, on the other hand, is confident, he jokes, smiles, makes a game out of his struggles, he's strong. Phantom is just a good guy. Everyone (minus others) loves him!
This happens because Danny is more comfortable as Phantom or Vise Versa. Sertant trates carry over, they're nerds, they're smart, they enjoy a good pun, they're sassy. But because Danny is a loser everyone sees it as lame, but with Phantom its endearing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
None of this means you need to get rid of silly nerdy Danny. You can have that but all these other things ad depth to his character. Hes smart but not confident, he's kind but not naive, he's powerful but not violent, and he finds comfort in the fact no one knows him.
Idk. I'm not a big fanfic writer so i thought i would just share and see what others do with it.
The Not Blogtober Chronicles
As I have testified elsewhere, writing for the content mill is frequently hard and frustrating, but it's also sort of interesting. Committing to a full cycle of research and writing every single day has a kind of tough, zenlike, "chop wood, carry water" quality to it that I'm beginning to enjoy. And while there is a lot about it I can't control--like I don't love almost anything about the format or the pervasive concessions I have to make to SEO--I try to look at it as an opportunity to tell people something I really think they should hear. I (rudely) assume that the average CBR reader is really only interested in "10 Times Batman and the Joker Totally Should Have Frenched", but the editors let me have this job, so now people will have to hear what I think is interesting until they take it away from me! Like way more people should have seen BORDER, and talked about it. Amazing movie, should not be obscure. If you're not watching and loving BORDER then you have bad taste, and not the good kind!
And then I got to talk about the Adams family, this couple and their daughters who make these totally independent, totally self-created movies that are extremely surprising in their quality and cleverness considering what I just said, and I think everyone should know about them. But also I think there's a lot of danger in the "outsider artist" label, so while I know that the way they operate outside any system is a VERY interesting fact, I didn't want to risk being condescending about it. Happily, the new movie that just landed on Shudder presented lot of opportunity to talk about what is actually in one of these movies, rather than just leaving it at "Isn't it weird and quirky that people make movies all by themselves?" Plus it had this cosmetic connection to ROMULUS, so I can hijack the SEO thing to force more people to find out about the Adamses.
I was really excited to write this and also to tell the Adamses about it, and I got to have a super rewarding conversation with Toby Poser, the wife/mom of the family who stars in the film (which she co-directed and co-wrote as usual). She loved that I said "Toby Poser and her husband" where people normally say "John Adams and his wife" which I wasn't even thinking about. I just think she's really cool and compelling, and it was great to find out how honored she was by my thing.
Sometimes my opportunistic SEO strategy isn't as interesting. Like I was kind of scrounging for topics that both CBR and I would enjoy, and I had to ask myself like, do people really not know this yet?
By which I guess I mean, most of the people who would actually care about David Cronenberg's grudge against Dan O'Bannon have probably already heard about it from a more interesting and focused source than CBR. But I needed to make my quota...and also once I dug into it, I started to find a point of view and things to say that were not included in all the other content mill articles on this exact subject. If you're really following your own curiosity, something boring can become fun when you least expect it.
My weekly scramble for topics to pitch is inevitably influenced by a certain amount of word association and I'm always slightly worried they'll ask me to vary it up a little more and then I won't have enough ideas at a time. Fortunately this has not happened, and I got to chase my old Cronenberg thing with a new Cronenberg thing. And this is probably something nobody has said yet--in part because Caitlin Cronenberg's movie is being unfairly ignored. And fuck that! It's really good, people should see it! So this was my big opportunity to force people to think about a movie they might otherwise miss, but that they also might like if they actually give it a try. I'm gonna @ her about it later, even though it probably won't turn her into my new friend like Toby Poser. But maybe. MAYBE...
Why does it seem like other women are able to find men who like them so easily? Pretty much every woman around me has a replacement the next month right after a breakup. They have relationships back to back to back. Meanwhile I've never been in a real relationship. It's starting to effect my self esteem. It seems like it's so easy for other women except for me. Everyone always says "you need to lOvE yOuRsElF first and then a relationship will come". Well that advice just makes me feel worse because it indirectly implies that all the other girls who are in relationships are perfect and completely in love with themselves, which is why companionship is so easy for them to find. Imperfect women, who clearly don't love themselves find mates all the time. I've seen so many "he saved me and changed my life for the better" stories from people in seemingly great relationships.
The whole love yourself advice is double edged because I have no idea what it means. I live a life that clearly suggests that I value myself, yet nothing is happening for me. I invest in myself all the time. I also have no problem being by myself. When I bring this topic up to other women, they suggest that my desire for wanting a companion is because I don't enjoy my own company and that needs to be fixed first. But that's not it at all. I'm very introverted and love hanging out by myself...now I just want someone to share my experiences with. I'm 25 and I'm ready to experience romance. It's completely natural and human to desire a companion. We are social beings after all.
"Why does it seem like other women are able to find men who like them so easily? Pretty much every woman around me has a replacement the next month right after a breakup."
On average, women will always have more options than men. While us women do have multiple men simultaneously pursue us, it doesn't mean they are all worth our time. We have to sift through the options because entertaining everything that comes your way isn't something to be proud of or productive at all.
"They have relationships back to back to back. Meanwhile I've never been in a real relationship."
Having relationships back to back isn't healthy at all. Dating back to back would be more normal since it's about getting to know different people, but constantly rotating through relationships probably means that they need to do a lot of inner work because they are not capable of forming real and intimate/emotional connections with other people. This more than likely means that they leave every relationship as soon as the infatuation and honey moon phase fades away. This is pretty toxic if you really think about it.
"Meanwhile I've never been in a real relationship. It's starting to effect my self esteem. It seems like it's so easy for other women except for me."
There is nothing wrong with choosing yourself over being in a situation that isn't right for you, you're doing great. Is this effecting your self esteem because you are comparing yourself to other people or because you feel like you need some validation in your life?
"Everyone always says "you need to lOvE yOuRsElF first and then a relationship will come".
Personally, I constantly preach this because it is so common for women to completely let down their standards and find themselves being treated very poorly for the sake of just being in a relationship when they can do so much better. If this advice doesn't apply to you, you always have the option to ignore it.
"Imperfect women, who clearly don't love themselves find mates all the time. I've seen so many "he saved me and changed my life for the better" stories from people in seemingly great relationships."
You can't believe everything you hear and see off the bat. Yes, on a rare occasion there will be emotionally stable and healthy men who have the ability to help their partners heal and become confident. But more often than not, people post things without including what happens behind closed doors. They'll tell the world "he saved me and changed my life for the better" while probably being extremely codependent and anxious and not working through these issues (as an example) and then the world gets shocked when they announce their break up.
"I live a life that clearly suggests that I value myself, yet nothing is happening for me."
I would say that this advice doesn't apply to you, only to the women who still have work to do internally. I mean I hear it all the time as a single woman, not once do I internalize it and take it personal. I have learned to love myself a long time ago.
"When I bring this topic up to other women, they suggest that my desire for wanting a companion is because I don't enjoy my own company and that needs to be fixed first."
I really don't think that there is anything needing to be "fixed." I think that you are going about your life in a very healthy and normal way. The women who you are speaking to seem to be in a different path in life and they don't know what else to tell you. I think it's perfectly normal to want companionship as a BONUS to your life. It's only an issue when someone is seeking companionship to fully depend on it for them to be happy. Your thoughts are perfectly normal.
"now I just want someone to share my experiences with. I'm 25 and I'm ready to experience romance."
Then have fun and experiment(on your terms)! Put yourself out there and learn how to dress, flirt, network, signal, etc....
don't you smile mischievously at me /lh
though I did say "hit me" so maybe this is on me lol
but I will say: for future reference, maybe don't put 24 in one thing please
I like the long ones, and I'm glad y'all have that much interest in my characters, but that's a little excessive
Tier 0
3. What species are they? Any special notes?
They are an Inkling, specifically based on the hummingbird bobtail squid, so they glow.
9. Main tentacle color? How did they pick it?
Teal; they were born that way, but there has been some green creeping in lately :)
15. What is their main weapon? How did they pick it and why?
Dark Tetra Dualies. They like to feel powerful on the Reefslider and zip around with the more rolls.
16. Languages they speak? Any that they’ve learned or want to learn?
They speak Inklish mostly, but they know enough Octarian to carry a conversation pretty well(though their accent is usually somewhat off). They've lived with Ika long enough to start to recognize the occasional thing in Salmontongue, but definitely not enough to speak it(they can mostly only tell if they're talking about them).
20. What size are they? Are they average size for their species or not?
They are about 4' 10"(147 cm), so they're a little shorter than average.
29. What makes them cry? Is it a common sight?
They claim “nothing”, but that’s not true. They just don’t like people seeing them cry so they avoid doing it in front of others.
Tier 1
1. Any pets? Do they want any?
They probably had small ones as a kid, but none currently. They're a little too busy for one("keeping up with squirt is basically like taking care of an animal").
10. How much does it take to trigger their Special Rush state? Do they get pumped fast?
Only slightly less than average; like you've got a couple Special Charge Up slots. They are Tsunami's cousin, after all. They are very easily excitable though.
11. Are they a good Super Jumper? Do they land their jumps?
They're pretty accurate, but they can't go super far. It's about a 50/50 shot on whether they'll land it properly(they don't have bones, they'll be fine).
15. Their favorite way to listen to music? Headphones, radio, et cetera?
Headphones, it's more private.
28. Anything they have too much of?
Everyone tells them "blankets and pillows", but they themself would say "cups". They just started accumulating them and before they knew it, they had a ton.
Tier 2
10. How often are they in swim form? How does it feel to them?
Really only when they're trying to hide or swimming, though hiding still doesn't work very well because half of their body still glows. They are very small like that so it's a little scary.
12. How do they sleep? How much do they usually need to sleep?
They sleep under a very large pile of blankets and pillows, saying they "need the weight to be comfortable". How much fully depends on how close exams and project deadlines are; swinging between the normal 10-ish hours, and zero.
17. Are they in a relationship? Do they want to be?
They are dating Marie. They try to keep it lowkey for her sake.
18. Any past relationships? Why did they end?
No, they were never really a "relationship oriented" person. They had crushes, but they never went anywhere.
Tier 3
18. If they could be any other species, would they? And what would they be?
No, they're pretty content the way they are now.
Tier 4
9. Any short-term color change? Which emotions trigger which colors in them?
Not really other than for ink battles and stuff. Their tentacles get more or less saturated depending on their current mood, and their spots glow more or less in the same way.
21. What do they find attractive in somebody?
Personality first; if they can properly match their energy and look good while doing so? Instant attraction.
24. How often are they sick? How do they handle it?
Other than the frequent migraines, not super often. They're the kind of person who says, "if I can do [insert fun thing] I can do actual work" when sick and powers through it, even if they're on the verge of passing out.
Tier 5
2. Anything they are dreading or horribly afraid of in their current life?
The heat-death of the universe.
And some of the stuff they've done as an agent catching up to them.
Tier 6
6. What is their preferred weather? What is the worst one?
They like warm, sunny weather the most, and hate the cold(another cited reason for the blankets).
11. Are they doing alright mentally? And is their “alright” ACTUALLY alright?
Yes and no? Probably not, especially if they’re saying they’re “fine”.
30. Are they a good person? In their own opinion.
Objectively, yeah, but they sometimes struggle with thinking that.
This may sound sexist but this is twilight vamps we're dealing with. I'd imagine that like you said the Romanians probably wouldn't have the word compromise in their vocabulary. And unless you're a vampire and probably one who has 'been around the block' they'll most likely get you to do what they say or want using various methods...maybe. The average human may not have the push back to disagree.
But I can see them especially Vladimir keeping up with outdated ideals maybe not with physical beauty standards but with behavior or mannerisms he thinks a woman should have especially if you're dating him. I think he's a big believer of your behavior represent you and those around you. Especially since he used to be a leader of most powerful coven at one point in time. I can see him not wanting his mate(reader) to 'associate' herself with those he deems lesser than himself or reader. Like I think he still have a superiority complex from his days of ruling in a way. And he may have this ideology about keeping his mate away from other men to keep her 'pure' or keep her from getting the wandering eye.
Listen, I don't have to tell anyone here that white men in particular gave no fucks what anyone but themselves had to say and deemed everything else unimportant and uneducated. I find it hard to believe that these isolated covens move with the times when half the time they have dated clothes/ clothes you wouldn't see the common Joe wear.
Tumblr media
It could just be me but I haven't seen this coat before nor after this character. Don't even get me STARTED on his twin. You just know if they showed up to a modern school like that- they're the weirdos who get bullied.
ANYWAY- not the point. I don't see these guys going from that upbringing, being isolated af for centuries to then seeing everyone as equal. Its just not realistic. They may look perfect but much like humans, theyre not perfect. However I do think there are some differences because I think of this as more of a social difference between species:
I reckon race isn't an issue for vampires of any era. I don't think they care because when a vampire, you're already on the outside of human values and norms. So why try to conform to something that is useless?
As for women, I think this genuinely depends on the person. Carlisle sees Esme as his partner and equal. I think his adoration for her always had that power over him. Not to mention he's constantly around humans so he watches them develop era by era. He can and always does compromise with Esme, if not going with what she wants and will drag the rest of the coven too.
Caius admired Athenodora's strength and is more than aware she could handle herself. However, as her mate, he will always make sure she'll never have to lift a finger nor fear for her survival. It'll never be a question for her and that's how he wants it. He was raised to be the strong man who protects his wife and maintains that to this very day. He'll make decisions and face everything for the both of them. Her safety means everything to him. He'll be nearly impossible to compromise with because he doesn't trust anyone outside the Volturi. Not to mention the number of enemies the Volturi has and the rising tensions.
Vladimir, having lost his mate, upon the situation of having another mate who is female will likely never let them do anything nor out of his sight. He doesn't care if they can think for themselves or cannot. What they want to do or not. He won't compromise on a single thing. It's his way and that is final. It's not that he looks down on them, not intentionally anyway. It's his normal, he was pushed to be this strong man who survives anything and everything because men couldn't be honest with their vulnerabilities or show weakness. He only does what he does because he cares and won't be able to survive such a loss again.
You're absolutely right! I totally agree and would even go as far to say all of the Volturi and the Romanian coven have a superiority complex. Amun too.
Remember: to most vampires, humans are just food and no one apologises to their food before they eat it or care for what the food wants or thinks-or even if it can.
So if one becomes attached, yay! You've moved up a peg in their eyes but it doesn't change that most were raised to be strong and not back down to anything or it shows weakness.
Plus, something that i don't think was covered too well with the Cullen's. Why would a human get their way when they're lucky to be alive to even acknowledge what's happening around them? You don't get to decide when, where and how you die. You just do.
P.S. sorry this took a few hours, I wanted it to have my full attention. I agree with a lot of this!❤️
