Omg please give us ur Hoffman thoughts! I don't care for him tbh but I wanna hear ur thoughts on him, if anyone were to have any good takes on him it'd be you

YEAA id be glad to!! idk i find him so interesting and i really feel like he goes to show how delusional john really was!! like he literally found this guy who orchastrated a copy cat murder by doing jigsaws Thing, but making his trap unwinnable... and then he recruited him..? he thought he could Change hoffman but all he did was give this sadistic violent man even more tools and excuses to commit acts of violence! its crazy to me that john could ever rationally think he would have any positive impact on hoffman in this way.

i feel like amanda and hoffman both in their own ways show the flaws in the jigsaw logic, amanda self destructed, she crumpled under this pressure, surviving her trap didnt save her, it destroyed her. hoffman's violent tendencies only escalated, he killed people and enjoyed it, he did all of this for his own pleasure! i just think theres no way for 'jigsaw' to exist devoid of any emotion. i mean even john mainly did games on people he had personal grievances with 😭 theyre all way too human in their own ways and i think its super interesting to see each of the jigsaws flaws and problems.

OH ALSO... i really enjoyed hoffman being a detective who's one of the main people working on the jigsaw cases.. ik its kinda obvious, but its just really accurate and interesting i think... like holy shit the "right now you are feeling helpless" scene was sooo good i really loved it.

hoffmans just such a piece of shit guy and i think he would be so interesting to really pick apart.. like does he still try and convince himself his bloodlust comes from a desire to right unseen wrongs? to give justice to those like his sister? he cant possibly, deeply believe that anymore can he? the way he sits and listens to audio from his games, revelling in the victims screaming and crying. staring through holes to watch the gore and violence and suffering. he enjoys it... i dont think even he could deny it tbh. not deep down. the scene where strahm dies and hoffman moves over inside his glass coffin just so he can watch ever second of strahms agony as he dies.. like that to me really encapsulates hoffman as a character.

hes awful and i hope he suffered a lot dying next to adams corpse 💖 but i enjoy him a ton as a villain! he has the flavor for a really despicable person that i think is fun and enjoyable and also easy to hate.
