The 4th Doctor knits---

Every time a companion is about to step a toe out of the TARDIS, they immediately get a multicolored sweater or scarf or beanie or pair of gloves shoved into their arms, because "humans are so dreadfully intolerable of the cold" and he has to take care of them. But he never really asks for them back so the general consensus is "I guess this is mine now??"

Harry Sullivan has more bizarrely-patterned sweaters than he can feasibly wear in the rest of his life

Sarah Jane gets a pretty matching set of a hat and gloves and a sweater with a lopsided owl on it

Leela absolutely loves scarves and once she admits this, she gets a new striped scarf almost every other day

Romana was promptly given a ridiculous hat with two giant pompoms on the top and tassels that nearly reach her knees, but she reluctantly wears it because it's very good at keeping her ears warm

Adric has a large collection of gloves, all a little too big for his hands

Nyssa has a thick hooded cardigan that doesn't quite match with any of her outfits

4 tries to act aloof but is actually very concerned about what they think, and will sulk if they don't wear them, even if he brings them to someplace very warm because he keeps forgetting that humans get warm too
