i mean lyra is a tiny ass person but she’s also a champ so honaestly? lyra’s gonna drink him under the table.

literally only john ever says this (and that’s primarily thanks to joseph’s advisement). lyra will call him her heart, her everything, literally anything else, but she won’t say she loves him because it’s a lie she heard and told too often; she doesn’t know how to say it honestly, and that terrifies her. cries about it quite a bit to be honest

3) who has trouble sleeping alone?

both of them, actually; it wasn’t a problem for lyra before, but at some point she realizes she can no longer sleep if she can’t count his breaths and feel his pulse. she always falls asleep after he does.

4) who swears more?

lyra casually, she uses it as punctuation when she wishes to make a point; john busts it out more when he’s upset.

5) who does more of the housework?

john theoretically, but honestly, the peggies handle a lot of the mundane household tasks around the ranch.

6) who forgets their anniversary?

neither of them, but lyra has to remember longer and she has to remember more.

7) who steals the duvet in their sleep?

they’re usually a tangled mess when they sleep, honestly, so anything “stolen” is gonna take the other person with it.

john’s the only one who snores, but it doesn’t keep her awake; like i said, she can’t sleep without it at this point.

lyra’s love affair with animals is the bane of john’s existence but he’s just gotta live with it, honestly. is that a bear in the yard? yes, it is. he lives here now. have fun john! is that the dog i tried to send to jacob? why yes, if you lay a finger on him i’ll feed your balls to my cougar. i have a cougar now.

10) who usually makes dinner?

i mean. members of the project, usually, but lyra’s the most likely to get fed up and spite cook something that isn’t burnt venison.

lyra. john’s gonna have to live with it. the project’s music is forbidden; oh john came on in the car once while they were going at it and lyra’s had a personal vendetta ever since.

12) who hogs the bathroom?

neither, they’re both in there getting ready for hours like the vain gremlins they are. narcissist mirror sex? narcissist mirror sex.

13) who gives the most compliments?

john, once again because of lyra’s verbal intimacy/vulnerability issues, but sometimes -- oftener than either would admit at gunpoint -- he pretends to fall asleep so he can hear her start to sob and whisper that he’s perfect. tired lyra who thinks she’s the only one conscious is all-consumingly affectionate.

14) who usually starts/causes arguments between them?

oh, both. they deliberately provoke each other sometimes, especially in the beginning when they’re still testing each other’s boundaries; since neither of them are familiar with the concept of being loved unconditionally, they immediately try to find those conditions. it drops off when they realize no one’s going anywhere; lyra’s still the most likely to start shit, though.

15) who isn’t afraid to embarrass the other in public?

i mean. their collective existence is an embarrassment to humanity, but lyra’s more likely to publicly mock john purely because he’s generally more publicly mockable (and thanks to her resistance infiltration, she spends a fair amount of the time with his enemies; him undermining the judge of eden’s gate to the other peggies isn’t such a slick move). he did have wanted: sinner posters with an unfortunate photo from vegas printed up and spread throughout the county after he heard one too many unflattering rumors were flying around fall’s end, but that, he informs her pleasantly, is to help her cover. it ends up hanging over their fireplace for a month.

16) who gives the other cringeworthy pet names?

i mean, miss wrath/wrathy are kind of unfortunate if you count them, yes? they don’t get used in the context of pet names (or at all, really, once he realizes she isn’t there to threaten the project or joseph’s affections), though, so the answer is neither; lyra uses pet names primarily to create distance or to patronize people; the most intimate thing she can call you is your first name. her enemies are darling; her husband is john.

17) who fusses over the other when they get sick?

lyra’s the one who shows up with staples in her gut, so we’re gonna say john. she reacts even more poorly when he’s remotely injured or unwell, though.

lyra’s wrath is swift and terrible and quickly spent; john’s more likely to harbor a grudge or bear resentments, which he does when she first rolls up to hope county; once they’re in a relationship their fuses both burn down pretty quickly, not because they’re incredibly healthy and in love but because they’re incredibly codependent and in love.

Larissa Amelia Thornton was born on the first day of summer to the respected surgeon Mark Thornton and the famous emotionally unavailable socialite Margaret Thornton ( née Hamilton ) in New York City.

fun fact, one of the few childhood memories Larissa has of her parents is them showering her with presents and, self-absorbed at they were, taking photographs of their ‘lovely daughter’ only to show them to their elite friends later

(whenever she drinks rum she mentions how her first acting job was being the perfect daughter her mother had always wanted), however young Larissa was more interesting in playing outside, making mud pies and finger painting.

in her teenage years she fell in love for the first time, with art. she’d spend hours in all sorts of museums with a pencil and a sketchbook in her hands.

the Mother was never took Lara’s interest in art seriously so when she refused to look into Ivy League schools and said she was thinking about becoming an artist, her mother lost it.

he committed suicide when Larissa was 17 (she doesn’t know why) and after his death the Thornton family fell apart (but of course, none of made it to the press) and Larissa began acting out, partying, alcohol, drugs, anything that would make her forget.

on the bright side, she focused on herself and began exploring the world all in futile attemps to run from her problems and successful attempts to find herself. 

took a few acting courses and liked it, acting was something that made her tap into her pain and transform it in something good 

soon after met an acting coach, a woman named Sawyer who was the first person to believe in her and her talent as well, she was also Nora’s first rolemodel/crush/obsession. And when Sawyer moved to Europe without her, she was devastated.

Mother (who would do great in Game of Thrones, honestly) would have none of it so she arranged a suitable marriage for Larissa with an older billionaire

honoring her father’s memory (Mother Knows Best!) and feeling completely lost, Larissa obliged but, you guessed it, she h a t e d Margaret for it and cut, not only her off, but also the rest of her family, including her loving brother.

So Larissa was put her in a cage and once again and expected to behave 

at least in that period she was able to take few University Art classes (Husband didn’t mind, as long as she didn’t cause scandals)

it took Larissa three years to pluck up some courage and realize she didn’t want to be a puppet anymore so she filed for a divorce.

The next step to freedom was pursuing acting career. Honoring her first mentor, she legally changed her name to Lara Sawyer.

at some event she met a film producer, auditioned for a part in his movie and got it! The movie was a huge success.

Lara is now enjoying her new-found freedom, like a (social) butterfly, fleeing from one city to another, from one partner to another

she cares about her career (and cherishes it bc it’s the only thing ever she had to work for), adores the whole process of making movies-- the prep, the audition, the costumes, the rush, the filming, the world tours, the interviews, the paparazzi chasing her, fans

Jason’s sure nobody else has noticed - Leo tapping his fingers in what seems to be a random pattern is nothing new, and his eyes track Chiron’s movements with what seems to be laser focus.

He likes to think he knows Leo better, by now.

Jason thinks back on his old Morse training (“Why do I have to know this?” “Just in case.” “What the hell kind of situation requires us to tap Morse code to each other when we have fucking mouths?”) - laborious months of bullshit memorizing that he never used on quests, but damn if it isn’t coming in handy now.

It’s fucking adorable, and Jason hates it - and he focuses back onto Chiron, who is trotting across the front of the room with a vaguely frustrated expression on his face.

Leo’s fingers continue their tapping, slim fingers pressing coded messages into the tabletop.

“… so the chip attaches to this port -” Leo yawns, and then shakes his head to clear it up, “ - and so it becomes able to track -” another yawn, “ - the movements -”

“Leo?” Jason asks, tilting his head slowly. Leo glances up, blinking blearily (ha, alliteration) up at him.

“Yeah?”

Jason smiles fondly, unable to hold back his reaction to an evidently tired Leo.

“You look tired. Ready for bed?”

Leo shakes his head again, more rapidly this time, and his curly hair flops around with his movements. He blinks a few more times, then opens his eyes as far as he can. “Nuh-uh,” he says, with an expression like a guilty child.

Yeah, right. Even Jason’s tired, and Leo likes to call him Superman - mostly because he looks like a blond version of him, but also because he’s basically superhuman. Jason doesn’t really get tired.

“Yuh-huh. C’mon, let’s head to my cabin. It’s too late, I don’t want to wake the Hephy kids up.”

Leo shakes his head with a petulant expression, narrowing his eyes and leaning back in his chair. With arms crossed, he mutters, “Nuh. Uh.”

Jason raises an eyebrow and nods to himself for a second, fighting back an amused smile at Leo’s behavior. “Alright, you’ve got a couple of options,” he relents, watching with the fond grin that he hadn’t been able to restrain as Leo slowly relaxes, nodding with lingering suspicion still present on his face. “You can either get up and walk with me, or I pick you up. Your choice.”

Leo sighs heavily, tipping his head back and huffing out another breath through his nose. “Fine.”

Jason stands, hovering for a few seconds. He frowns as suspiciously as he can manage when Leo doesn’t stand up like Jason thought he would, instead slouching further into his seat with hands outstretched, as if…

… he wants Jason to pick him up. Of course he does.

“You’re a fucking baby, y’know that?”

Leo shrugs, a carefree smile on his face. “Yup.”

Jason sighs indulgently. “Yeah, of course you do. Alright, we’re doing piggyback, because we both know - despite how incredibly underweight you are - there’s no way I’ll be able to hold you on my damn hip or whatever for the amount of time it’ll take us to get back to the cabin.”

Leo nods and Jason turns his back to the shorter teenager, crouching on the balls of his feet with his hands outstretched behind him. As carefully as he can manage (which isn’t saying a lot, considering how fucking delirious he seems to be), Leo tucks his legs into the slots of Jason’s hips and he stands up, chuckling softly when Leo yelps behind him.

He regains his balance, though, and wraps lanky arms around Jason to rest in the juncture between his neck and shoulder.

“Good to go?”

Leo says nothing, merely nods against the shoulder he’s already starting to fall asleep on - not that Jason expected anything less.

“¡Dios mio, las luces!” he cries almost immediately, shoving his face into the back of Jason’s shirt. [t - Oh my god, the lights!]

Jason can’t stifle the chuckle that escapes him - okay, so maybe he forgot to tell Leo it was basically morning, but. Who could blame him? He’d been… distracted. By Leo. And his hands. And his hair. And his smile. And his laugh. And his -

You see? It just happened again. Totally not his fault.

Definitely.

"Sorry, love," he says, trying and failing to sound truly apologetic. (Did he just say love in reference to Leo? He’s not going to think about that.) "Afraid I can't turn these lights off."

A groan spills its way out of Leo's mouth, sounding suspiciously like a "Why not?" but with a lot more vowels, probably.

"Well," he starts, the fond amusement (he’s fond way too often when it comes to Leo, damn it) probably ridiculously evident in his voice, "there's this thing in the sky - now, don't get too excited - called the sun. Totally crazy, right? It -"

Leo's left hand knocks harshly against his temple. "Asshole."

"- even makes this wild thing called - wait for it - light! It's pretty fuckin' awesome, if I may say so myself."

Leo sighs. "You may not," he grumbles, and Jason can feel the fluttering of the other boy's eyelashes against his neck. He fights back a shiver at the surprisingly intimate feeling and tries to concentrate on getting them to his cabin.

"Hey, dad?" he murmurs, words slurred through a heavy tongue. Jason opens his mouth to answer, but -

Wait.

What?

He freezes.

Mentally, of course, because otherwise Leo would know something was up, and he was so close to falling asleep, and Jason really didn't want him realizing what he said, because it'd turn into a whole production, and Leo would never get to sleep, and then... you get the idea.

But - anyway. Back to the matter at hand:

Jason remembers reading up on kinks (it was a late night and too many Wikipedia articles, sue him), and he's pretty sure daddy kinks are a thing.

Larissa Amelia Thornton was born on the first day of summer to the respected surgeon Mark Thornton and the famous emotionally unavailable socialite Margaret Thornton ( née Hamilton ) in New York City.

fun fact, one of the few childhood memories Larissa has of her parents is them showering her with presents and, self-absorbed at they were, taking photographs of their ‘lovely daughter’ only to show them to their elite friends later

(whenever she drinks rum she mentions how her first acting job was being the perfect daughter her mother had always wanted), however young Larissa was more interesting in playing outside, making mud pies and finger painting.

in her teenage years she fell in love for the first time, with art. she’d spend hours in all sorts of museums with a pencil and a sketchbook in her hands.

the Mother was never took Lara’s interest in art seriously so when she refused to look into Ivy League schools and said she was thinking about becoming an artist, her mother lost it.

her Father advised not ot oppose her mother *Mother Knows Best from Tangled playing in the background* and to do everything she said– smile, sit up straight, please others, go to college…

he committed suicide when Larissa was 17 (she doesn’t know why) and after his death the Thornton family fell apart (but of course, none of made it to the press) and Larissa began acting out, partying, alcohol, drugs, anything that would make her forget.

on the bright side, she focused on herself and began exploring the world all in futile attemps to run from her problems and successful attempts to find herself.

took a few acting courses and liked it, acting was something that made her tap into her pain and transform it in something good

soon after met an acting coach, a woman named Sawyer who was the first person to believe in her and her talent as well, she was also Nora’s first rolemodel/crush/obsession. And when Sawyer moved to Europe without her, she was devastated.

Mother (who would do great in Game of Thrones, honestly) would have none of it so she arranged a suitable marriage for Larissa with an older billionaire

honoring her father’s memory (Mother Knows Best!) and feeling completely lost, Larissa obliged but, you guessed it, she h a t e d Margaret for it and cut, not only her off, but also the rest of her family, including her loving brother.

So Larissa was put her in a cage and once again and expected to behave

at least in that period she was able to take few University Art classes (Husband didn’t mind, as long as she didn’t cause scandals)

it took Larissa three years to pluck up some courage and realize she didn’t want to be a puppet anymore so she filed for a divorce.

The next step to freedom was pursuing acting career. Honoring her first mentor, she legally changed her name to Lara Sawyer.

at some event she met a film producer, auditioned for a part in his movie and got it! The movie was a huge success.

Lara is now enjoying her new-found freedom, like a (social) butterfly, fleeing from one city to another, from one partner to another

WHO THE HECK IS VERA?:

born veronica dahyun choi on june 29, 1998 in san diego, california but grew up in a city in los angeles county

she was raised by her single mother since birth, along with the several long-term boyfriends she’s had. she got along well with all of them, but she ended up more skeptical about the next each time. this kind of affected her mentality with her own relationships, but nevertheless, she can fall really quickly & really deeply. she’s just hesitant about acting on her feelings because, at the same time, she doesn’t know if it’s a fleeting emotion LOL

her mother didn’t intend on getting pregnant at the age of 23, but after finding out she was, she was ready for it. her boyfriend,,, not so much. they got in a lot of verbal battles, & he ended up leaving. vera never knew him & her mother wouldn’t dare let her try.

vera really looked up to her mom because she saw her as being so strong. she wanted to be strong like her. when men left her life, sure, she was upset & maybe shed a few tears, but her mom would never let it affect her to the point where she would be moping. her mom was capable of being independent. vera aspired to have that same mindset. she doesn’t quite have it internalized, but she’s trying to get there, more or less.

although she grew up a rather timid & shy girl, toward the end of middle school, she had made a few super close friends & become more comfortable in her own skin. in high school, she would think a lot of what other people thought about her & sometimes change subtly to seem appealing to other people. this sounds so cliche, but it wasn’t until she started dating that she began to realize her own worth & that she shouldn’t be trying to be someone she’s not for people who won’t accept her for who she is. she used to be so afraid of taking the chance of not being liked. i mean, she still is afraid of not being liked, but more ready ( ? ) for it i guess

vera’s currently a computer science major at uc san diego. she took ap computer science during her junior year of high school & found it to be quite interesting & fun ??! a lot of other people in the class were struggling with the logic & syntax, but she took to it naturally. she’s unsure of what path she’d want to take in the future, though. that part she’s still figuring out. also, she despises having to troubleshoot with a passioN !!

timing was honestly everything when it came to her decision to take up the offer to stay at hotel dionysus. jeremy, vera’s boyfriend of four years, ended their relationship a month prior, & although she was able to realize how toxic it became toward the end, she felt that she had tried so hard to mend everything & make him stay that she sort of lost who she was a little bit, so she hopes that going to a new place with new people help her become, you know, vera again. ( which means potential shifts in attitude, mindset, etc. from time to time )

WHAT’S SHE LIKE?:

she’s really friendly & sweet but she’s not, like, super oblivious u feel ?? very down to earth, but if she’s really comfortable, she could playfully roast the shit out of you. in a loving way, of course. if she’s in a certain mood, vera could be sarcastic as heLL, but it’s a little funny & endearing.

she’s honestly,,, a huge dork. people feel warm around her.

vera’s the type that rly identifies with her zodiac sign ( cancer ) & if she were to tell someone after they got to know her, they’d probably be like “o shit that’s so you”

incredibly loyal, even to a fault. she’s guilty of putting other people over herself from time to time.

she’s an extroverted introvert type, so it takes a little getting to know her before she can completely be herself around a person. not so much a party type. she gets socially exhausted easily if she goes to social functions & highkey needs to have time for herself every now & then or else she gets super nervous, maybe cranky.

a solid go-to if you ever need to vent or need comfort. want a shoulder to cry on ?? vera’s got you. i can’t guarantee that she’d give any solid advice, but she’s reliable when it comes to someone who is understanding & sympathetic. does ever take her own advice ?? lmao ur funny

she’s a pretty intelligent girl, but she doesn’t boast about it. she graduated high school with an unweighted gpa of 3.93 & took 8 ap classes, but aside from the occasional, random fun fact about how we share 50% of our dna with bananas or something, she never says anything about it ! she just picks stuff up rather easily.

oh, boy, can she hold a grudge !! she will forgive ( maybe ), but she will never forget if you hurt her. she can be super sensitive & will probably cry if you upset her. however, she is trying to be incredibly strong emotionally, & it takes a lot to truly hurt her, which is why she would still stick around people who sometimes treat her like shit if she gets attached to them. she just tears up at little things, honestly. those thai life insurance commercials ??? no chance. she cried at her high school graduation, man.

FUN FACTS:

collects pins & her collection is roughly at 107,,, never take her to anime expo i s2g she spends so much money there !! surprisingly enough, she never entered the realm of disney pin trading. 

she has also co-owned & operated her own online enamel pin shop for two years with one of her friends & it has garnered a pretty solid customer base. they also sell stuff like embroidered caps.

vera was a blogspot blogger from the age of 15 to 18 ( mostly fashion & makeup ) & had a nice following on both her blog & other social medias, but she stopped consistently blogging after she got busy with her growing shop & other responsibilities. her pre-existing follower base is also a good reason why her shop took off well.

she had a youtube channel very briefly when she was like 17, but after a couple months short of a year, she didn’t have enough time to keep up. there’s, like, 16 videos on her channel. i would imagine they’d be like princessmei’s

a sucker for 50s & 60s tunes, esp jazz like ella & billie but also the four seasons etc !! she was a part of her school’s advanced jazz choir for three years as a mezzo-soprano after being in the women’s show choir ( her music literacy is amazing holy shit ), & she was vp of the group senior year. a lot of her closest friends stem from that group, so they still kept in touch after graduating.

vera is a super duper lowkey poet !! she feels so much, & she found that poetry was an amazing outlet for her to express all of the emotions she sometimes bottles up to full capacity. however, she’s really insecure about her writing & would never show anyone unless she truly trusted them. she really admires spoken word poets & watches button poetry videos religiously.
