The 10-Things-Challange

Hi y'all !,

a few days ago I startet a little "Challange" for myself:

To Create a room in Sims 3, by combining random things I find within the Sims-Community. So I will download the first 10 things that I see on this day, if I like them, or at least don´t dislike them, and put them together with 5 other things that I can choose freely.

The goal is, to create with just 15 objects a room that makes some kind of sense. For example it can represent a certain style, or a theme, or an idea, or even tell a little story, whatever comes to my mind.

Turns out, this is so much FUN!, to put stuff together that I normaly never would consider to combine :-) !

So I don´t know if someone had this idea before already, it happened while I was sorting CC-files, and this element of coincidence was so appealing to me, that I decided to give it a try.

Now I want to show you my first outcoming, and how I decided which objects to choose, or how the objects chose me; and what rules could be useful or not.

First I visited TSR, to see what's new there. The newest entry was:

1) Emporia Livinigroom-Set, from ArtVitalex

So that are 7 objects already - meaning I have to leave this site now (?) .

--> Working on the rules:

Would be much to easy if most ot the 10 objects would come from the same set, but I think 3-4 objects from one set will be OK.

And I wonder if I should leave a source after finding the first "thing", or if its OK to stay on the site, and just go back in the timeline to the next entry of another creator? I guess it depends on how often I will do this challange - 3 times a week, 3 times a month...

BACK TO THE CC -

Then I went to tumblr and chose the first of my sims3-tags that are CC-related, it was #s3ccfinds (some of the first entrys were reblogs from wandering sim).

I skip all CAS-Stuff, just looking for objects to put in a room.

I counted until I had "10 things" = single objects:

2) My Wedding Stories Trees, Set with 5 objects, from @bioniczombie

3) Venyl-Collection, 1 object, from @johziii

4) Tombstones, 2 objects, from @lolabellesims

5) Some Weird Posters, 1 object, from @wanderingsimsfinds

6) Out In The Yard, Set with 4 objects, from @Itssimplythesims

So this time the 10 objects will be from 6 diferent creators.

Plus the 5 "wild objects" I can chose freely.

--> Some more specifics about the rules:

For example them posters from wanderingsim, thats 1 object, but its a huge collection of 33 posters = items. In a case like that, I might use 3-4 different looking items, I treat this object like a set.

During this first challenge, I changed some stuff I a bit, that shows in the pics: added windows; changed styles; changed postition of the poster + sofa.

I will lead you through the scenery pic-by-pic, counting the objects up to 15.

HAIR WIP / POLL [NOVEMBER]

For the next month I'm already working in two hairs (I'm working in another, a new version of my Agate Hair, without the half bun, but I don't have a photo yet, soon as possible I'll try take some).

Both hairs as usual will came with EA color palette + my color palette, hat and base game compatible.

1 -  LION HAIR

The first hair is a voluminous curly hair with a duo tone colors options; I have done the duo tone as acc recolor so you can mix and match the colors, the acc will have the same color palettes from the hair.

But of course you can use this hair with only one color.

2 - CHEER HAIR

Now with the university expansion coming I thought about doing at least some items on the theme. The first item I came up with was this hair based hair that cheerleaders use in presentations.

It have a bow acc (in hat category) so you can use with or without.

WIP / POLL

For the next month I have already this two hairs (of course I’ll do more items too).

HAIR WITH WITCH HAT

The first one is a hair with a witch hat that I made especially for the new pack. My plan is do a acc recolor for each part that can be recolored for mix and match in a lot of combinations of colors. So I do a acc (in hat category) for recolor the hat and other (in accessories category) for recolor the tie and bow. The hair will come in EA colors + my Candy Color Palette (in total 45 swatch colors); the hat at the moment I have made 10 swatch colors in gray and brown scale; and the tie and bow I have made my 30 swatch colors palette, but I wanna do some patterns too. So in this hair you can do a looooot of combinations, idk how many, but I think is a lot (I’m very bad with math).

LONG HAIR WITH SIDE BANG

The second hair is a simple but amazing straigh long hair with a side bang. I know not everyone is in the witch mood and because of it I’ll do some non-witch cc too.

You guys know I absolutelly love long hairs.

Like the other hair it comes in EA colors and in my Candy Color Palette.

I really wanna do accessories for this hair, but I’m passing thru a creative block so I’m kinda without ideas of what add in this hair that will looks cool.

As I said in my last wip post I’m working in two dresses, they are different from each other but equally beautiful. 

Both base game compatible and made for female frame.

Soon I’ll do another post with some wips, at the moment I have one hair, I started to do some jeans clothes for a part 2 of mine “Jeans Mini Collection” and soon I’ll star to do the Lisa’s Wands part 2 (when done will be posted in Patreon).

1 - MORGANA DRESS

I totally love dresses with sidecuts and I love more when both sides have cuts, so I decided to give a try and I ended up doing this amazing dress.

It comes in 30 plain colors in the dress, I started to do a acc recolor for the leather belt and choker (I don’t have pics yet, when I have some I’ll reblog and add it), I don’t yet how many colors will be, but probably leather colors, like white, brown, etc.

2 - MARILYN DRESS

I received a lot of suggestions for do some retro items, principally clothes from 50′s era, so I tried a 54′s inspired dress (that is the item that I most like from this era).

It will come in 30 plain colors and 10 patterns (some examples bellow).

I’ll leave a poll in Patreon until 6th October for decide which dress will be posted first. So if you’re a Patron you can vote over here!

The “winner” will be posted until 9th October and the “loser” until 16th October.

WIP / POLL

Like I said in my last wip post I’m working in some clothes for this month (I have some items more, but I have to do a preview and in the moment I’m working in this items and the two hairs that I showed some days ago in this post).

You guys know I like to do mini set and collections so I did this two looks.

I’m totally in love with these items and I hope you guys liked too.

The first look are this tank top with crossed back + tied up pants.

As usual it comes in my 30 swatch color palette.

The top comes with some patterns too (at the moment I have 10 patterns, but I wanna add some more, maybe more 10).

In the pants I do something different, I put a acc recolor for the tie, so you can mix and match as you can see in the pic bellow (I put in gloves category but I’ll put in tights category too).

The second look are the simple t-shirt +distressed short.

Like all the other items the top comes in my 30 swatch colors, but in my opinion this top is very very simple so because of it I decided to add a LOT of prints.

In the moment I have 20 patterns and 29 prints, and guess what, I wanna add some more. In total 79 swatch colors. 

My idea is add print from some celebs; like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, BlackPink, etc; some from movies and series; like Avengers, Friends, Mad Max, etc. If you have some idea please feel free to send me!

The short is not so simple but still pretty basic and easy to do looks with, it comes in 17 swatch colors.

I love this short sooo much, it’s perfect for summer/beach looks.

As I have done with my last hairs I will leave a poll for my patrons for decide which set will be posted first, if you’re a patron you can vote here!
