I GET THE SENSE HE HAS A REALLY VIVID PICTURE IN HIS MIND'S EYE AND THAT'S SO HELPFUL BECAUSE IT REFERS TO THE TECHNICAL PART OF OUR JOB. IT'S A PRIVILEGE TO BE 'LOST IN THE CHARACTER' BUT THERE IS A SPECIFIC TECHNICAL PART OF HOW SOMETHING COMMUNICATES AND I THINK HE IS REALLY GOOD AT THAT.

Actually genuinely curious, does anyone else have something they want from Arknights that you know is not going to happen (or at least not soon anyways) either because it's too specific or because you know it would only cater to you?

I'm not talking about like, criticisms of Arknights and things you'd want it to get better. I'm talking pure indulgent stuff that's only to your personal benefit really like specific types of merch, characters, events, mechanics or whatever.

As an example, I would love for there to be an event that specifically centred around Mr Nothing and the Who Is Lingering Crew having to go back to his hometown where Mr Nothing has to confront his past once and for all and the story is themed around not letting the past control you anymore and moving on. The event would have the style and aesthetic of the Bruce Lee films and wuxia dramas especially it's music. It could be where they give Mr Nothing an alter and Hibiscus a skin in the 0011 series so she could match with Kroos and Lava.

It's not gonna happen, I know it aint. But sometimes you need a dream to keep going in life yanno.

Thinking about Yuder Aile's looks

I did think before that Yuder must be quite plain looking. Not ugly but not extraordinary either. Atleast, that's how he always thought of himself. But then I realised Yuder Aile is a freaking unreliable narrator. And that got me thinking even more of how he looked like. Of course, we have a great manhwa and many novel illustrations of how Yuder looks.

And they are all so cute! I just tend to visualise them a bit differently than whatever official arts make them out to be. That's to be expected, after all, we all imagine things differently when it comes to looks. Btw this is not me criticizing the manhwa or the illustrations. They are all so beautiful and I love them all 🥰🥹

TBH I think Yuder is actually...quite an unconventional beauty (lol ik so original). You know there are some people who, at first glance, look pretty but not extraordinary...but then the more you look at them, the prettier they become??? It's like some kind of magic happening. I had a senior in my college who was like that. The more I look, the prettier she becomes. I think of actors like Rekha and Tabu who become prettier the longer you look at them.

Also, in the world of Turning, it seems the beauty standard is bright hair and bright eyes, pastel colours and all. And Yuder is full on a goth gf. No pastels. Stark and contrasting. Black hair, dark eyes, pale af, stoic, and intimidating. He is not all sharp tho. He has chubby cheeks, according to Kiolle Diarca, so, I think Yuder has baby fats on his cheeks. That's insanely adorable to me. I can see why Enon wants to pinch those cheeks. I keep thinking of actor Yin Zheng, he has the most adorable cheeks. He makes me go insane. BTW check out his masterpiece of a drama called "Winter Begonia" ❤️ it's a cdrama based on a danmei novel.

Yuder thinks he is tall. And HE IS. He is 5'11". That's tall, ok. From the QnA, Kuyu did say he has a thin body type, so, I imagine him as a lean muscled body type. Not lanky at all. Like, Bruce Lee. A powerful house of a man, with defined biceps and core. Yuder from manhwa does remind of Bruce Lee a lot tbh. I really like that, Bruce Lee is my childhood!

So, that's how I think Yuder looks like. I am bad at the visualising part tho, so, Yuder keeps on shifting in my mind. I imagine a youthful face carrying the expression of a war veteran, and that makes people around him intimidated but also intrigued. All the descriptions in the novel remind me of the most is actually a very famous character, known as, the motherfucking Moon Dong-Eun from "Glory"! Played by Song Hye-Kyo. The eyes...look at her EYES!! That's Yuder Aile staring into your soul!!!!

You can even feel the eerie glare from behind the shades!

I think Lady Snowblood, played by Meiko Kaji, is also a good reference for Yuder's eyes. Look at her! I think this one is more suited for Yudrain Aile tho.

absolutely just devastatingly ticklish everywhere, but i also think he is weirdly good at hiding it for a little bit, and sometimes the ler trying to tickle him will just eventually give up (big brother powers? zatanna magic?)

first off, i like to think that his dad was an actual priest. idk which denomination (i think thats the word) he would be. basically, i headcanon that movie kent is queer (not labelled or anything. in my au hes gay tho) basically, his dad didnt accept him, and since kent was a basement dweller still living with his dad, his dad kicked him out, which is how kent ended up in new orleans working at a costume store and pretending to be a priest.

also, i headcanon that he was living out of his car during the movie, and thats why he was so excited to move into the mansion/do all the food runs. hes homeless.

Au idea/ramble

I’m having one of those times where I am hyper fixated on two things at once and I have no idea how much these fandoms overlap if at all BUT it’s making me want to smash these two things together in an AU so I present my idea of a Gotham/Danganronpa AU where the characters of Gotham are put in a killing game, probably a copycat killing game, and to make it more interesting they can keep their memories ….most of them. It would make sense not too cause that just gives them more motive to kill each other so— oh also this would have Gobblepot in it cause I’m obsessed but also Nygmobblepot drama because I just have to and for some reason I had the idea to put Victor Zsasz and Lucius Fox together? Maybe not together but there’s some type of feelings. In the situation I just felt it made sense for some reason— I have like a general idea of the plot if anyone wants to hear me ramble further but it’s not a solid outline yet. Gotham fans will probably be more interesting since I’m using those characters with the danganronpa format but maybe I can work in some Danganronpa character cameos.

The characters I’m planning to use are: Jim, Harvey, Oswald, Lee, Barbara, Butch, Zsasz, Selena, Bruce, Alfred, Tabitha, Lucius, Ed, Hugo Strange, Fish, and Ivy. So pretty good mix I think? For maximum angst? Not sure the mastermind could be. Maybe Sofia. Probably Sofia. Don’t know why she’d do this but, well, she’s more unhinged than Oswald and her father and didn’t bat at eye at endangering children so who else would unless I bring back Junko from the dead— okay now that I say that that’s exactly the dumb shit that would happen in both franchises. If not Sofia or Junko it could be Tsumugi and idk maybe it’s a random international season of Danganronpa. Jeremiah is another option but would he really be a copycat? Nah. And Jerome? Smarter than he looks but not smart enough to keep them trapped longer than a week. The mastermind might not be important cause I haven’t even decided if they’re going to escape or not :3

Imagine the angst tho you got fucking Jim and Bruce and all their most important people stuck in a killing game with Gothams rogue gallery like come on. All the tension cause the villains wouldn’t hesitate to kill but you’re in an enclosed space with Gothams greatest detective that’s gotta be a little intimidating especially as time goes on and the trials happen and Jim keeps finding the blackened…

Where the Gobblepot aspect comes in is I think Jim would just fucking glue himself to Oswald for three, eventually four, reasons. A) stop him from killing anyone. B) protect him from everyone else cause most of them have motive to kill Oswald, C) if he’s always with Oswald if someone tries to kill him Oswald would immediately be suspected so Oswald wouldn’t be dumb enough to try it, and D) he starts actually trusting him. Trust [romantic]. Bonus other reason Jim is making sure Oswald has an alibi all the time so no one can pin a murder on him cause that would be so easy to do.

Now the Lucius and Victor thing hear me out hear me out. Everyone likes Lucius. No one has beaf with that guy, including Victor. Lucius is also a kind understand smarties as we know from How The Riddler Got His Name AND I KNOW WHAT YOURE THINKING Edward and Lucius make more sense then, right? Well I thought about it. And I decided I don’t want Ed to be happy— kidding. Or am I? No I just love a good aro headcanon cbkgzjtdlydi but back to Zsasz. Since Zsasz if like the most likely to kill someone everything thinks for obvious reasons, they all avoid him. Zsasz also is not an idiot so in reality he’s not going to kill anybody. Lucius knows this. So Lucius being the kind person he is I imagine would check up on Zsasz (whomst isolated himself) and Zsasz would get really fond of him I think. Basically I like Zsasz better than Edward so Victor gets the boyfriend.

I’m just a sucker for some good angst and Whump so this AU seems like the perfect playground don’t you think?

Opening this weekend...

Evil Dead Rise--This fifth feature in the beloved horror series that began in 1981 moves most of the action out of the woods and into the city. An earthquake uncovers a copy of the "Book of the Dead" in the bowels of a decaying L.A. apartment building. Near the tome are a couple of vinyl records on which a priest has recorded the incantations necessary to invoke the evil spirits that re-animate dead bodies to torment the living. The kid who finds all this is an aspiring DJ, so he has turntables, so...

Through this laborious set-up, the lissome tattoo-artist single mother (Alyssa Sutherland) ends up possessed by a malevolent force. It's up to her guitar-tech sister (Lily Sullivan) to defend her nephew and two nieces. Gruesome mayhem ensues, hitting on the obligatory tropes of the series--grinning, leering, levitating corpses, oceanic amounts of gore, hurtling demonic POV, the repeated phrase "dead by dawn!"--as well as nods to Kubrick's The Shining and to Fargo.

I'm afraid I've run out of patience with this style of horror flick. Watching a woman's corpse terrorize and murder her children probably wouldn't be my idea of entertainment in any case, but here it's not only unpleasant but tedious. I've grown weary of films in which characters stand transfixed as something ghastly happens in front of them. After a while one begins to suspect that all the interminable gasping and whimpering and slowly backing away may not even really be about generating terror or heightening suspense, but rather about padding a thin script out to feature length.

Sam Raimi's original Evil Dead trilogy was not inconsequential cinema. The "shaky cam" techniques that Raimi and his cronies developed on those indies, out of economic necessity, were highly influential on the Coen Brothers and Barry Sonnenfeld and others. But beyond the realm of technical innovation, Raimi's movies, especially the marvelous Evil Dead II of 1987, had a low-tech vigor, a whimsical sense of macabre comedy and a guileless campfire-story gusto that, combined with the one-of-kind slapstick acting of star Bruce Campbell, made them classics.

Raimi and Campbell are listed as executive producers on Evil Dead Rise, but almost none of the twisted magic of their early work can be felt here. There's some elegance to the production design, and leading ladies Sutherland and Sullivan are stunning, Bukowski-style L.A. goddesses. There's a sweet line in which the youngest niece tells her aunt why she thinks she'll be a good mom someday. And the Hieronymus Bosch-like horror into which the demon's victims conglomerate themselves is a decent Raimi-ish idea, though the CGI renders it soulless.

I'm told that this film, directed by the Irish Lee Cronin, was originally slated to open on cable TV but got a theatrical release after test audiences took to it. So it may be that I've just aged out of this sort of thing, and the movie will truly please audiences. If so, even though it's not for me, I nonetheless find it cheering that people still want to scream in company.

Somewhere in Queens--Less than a month after opening the Phoenix Film Festival, Ray Romano's feature directorial debut opens theatrically here in the Valley. Romano, who co-wrote the script, also stars as Leo Russo, a bedraggled hangdog sad sack who works for his family's contracting business in the title borough. Leo isn't the favorite son, however. His father (Tony LoBianco) shows more respect to Leo's slick brother Frank (Sebastian Maniscalco). Maybe everybody loves Raymond, but nobody loves Leo.

Well, that's not true. His siblings and his wife Angela (Laurie Metcalf) love him well enough, but they don't take him seriously, or listen to him. A sultry widower (Jennifer Esposito) on a jobsite seems to take a shine to him, but he's not the adulterous type.  Leo does have a source of pride, however: his quiet son "Sticks" (Jacob Ward) is a high school basketball star. One night at a big game, Leo and Angela are surprised to learn that Sticks has a girlfriend (Sadie Stanley) they didn't know about. The same night, they learn that he may be good enough for a college scholarship.

Though it's often funny, a forlorn atmosphere hangs over the early scenes of this movie that had me bracing for some sort of wretched tragedy that would leave the characters standing around emergency rooms or something like that. But the story, though it stings, doesn't drag us through the mud; it takes off in unexpected and painful yet believable and sometimes exhilarating directions.

The feel for the setting is convincing, and so is the large cast. The ensemble scenes are well-executed, especially the girlfriend's debut at a big family dinner, where she both irks and impresses the relations with her nerviness. Romano plays Leo as a toned-down version of his stage and sitcom persona, cowed and slow-witted, and his tentative, apologetic boyishness is poignant, even when you can see how his family could find it irritating.

For a while it seems like the film is underutilizing the mighty Metcalf, but finally Angela gets her big moment. Romano lets her articulate the theme of the movie, admitting probably the most frequent emotion of the parenting experience: Fear.

Also opening this weekend, at Harkins Chandler Fashion 20 and Harkins Arrowhead, is Tom Huang's fine comedy-drama Dealing with Dad...

It's slated to play at Harkins Shea and at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre in Sedona starting April 28.

I reviewed it last year, after it made the rounds of several festivals including Phoenix Film Festival. It's very much worth checking out.

The quote challenges us to live life to the fullest and avoid falling into routines or habits that make life monotonous. It implies that life is too short to waste on things that do not excite or fulfill us, urging us to seek out new experiences, passions, and challenges to make the most of our time.

Ever since college started, I haven't had the time to do things I liked because I was too focused on school. So many school works left and right, weekly and daily, for me to be left quite tired and bored of doing the same tasks over and over again. It is why i recently started watching films and short anime's from time to time. Because it can be finished quicker than having to watch a tv series. Since we are too busy at school i can only finish a handful of films a day before i do my school works and stuff. I can't bring myself to watch a series when i have school weeks since it breaks my immersion and enjoyment to a show. With that being said i started watching asian action films like Bruce Lee's and Jackie Chan's movies.

After that I watched a few of Stephen Chow's films which were very great, funny, and creative. My favorite films of his are the classics Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer.

Then I went on watching The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner film series and also Ender's Game which were dystopian future sci fi films.

Then comes a week break where I spent most of my time watching a few 12 episode anime's that were on my plan to watch list. The first one was Hanebado!

Hanebado! is a sports anime about badminton which is my favorite sport and also a part of the reason why I wanted to watch this in the first place and it also has a great cast of voice actors, a beautiful art style, and the animation was excellent!! My favorite character in the series has got to be the protagonist Hanesaki Ayano.

After Hanebado! Mashle: Magic and Muscles was next on my list it is a funny and an interesting show because the main character Mash is the only one who doesn't have any magic powers in a world full of magic.

With that, enough of the anime and film talks!!! recently i have been addicted and absorbed with the Beyblade series which has a toy line which also goes by the same name, Beyblades. So i started collecting the toys for their latest series Beyblade X.

This is my favorite Beyblade as of now, its called Phoenix Wing. Just seeing the Bey itself you can already tell its strong with the color red and the Phoenix motif which is really cool and its also my favorite mythical creature.

This one right here is an exclusive and limited edition blade of the prototype for Phoenix Wing and its name is Phoenix Feather. It looks just as cool but nothing tops the Phoenix Wing's red coated blade.

Finally we have my most recent purchase which is an old Beyblade from the Beyblade Metal era back in the mid 2000's. This is called Big Bang Pegasis and its my favorite one from the metal series. The contrasting colors of this specific type of blue and red blends really well making the Beyblade look more dynamic and awesome and with that ends my first blog!!!

For my blog assignment, I will focus in depth on Hong Kong action films. I've learned that Hong Kong actions films are the principle source of Hong Kong's film industry, and has a combination of different types of cinematic styles. Hong Kong action films peaked in the 1970s and 1990s due to actors such as Bruce Lee, and Jackie Chan. Their acting and films popularized the use of comedy, dangerous stunts and modern urban settings that left the audience wanting more. The first Hong Kong action films that were produced in the 1930s surrounded the use of swordplay, which then changed into martial arts. The film "Enter the Dragon", which starred Bruce Lee, was the first ever US-Hong Kong co-production, that grossed an estimated $350 million worldwide. This film was directed by Robert Clouse, and was considered the most influential action film of all time. Another Hong Kong action film that I looked into was "Police Story" , which is a 1985 film that is directed by and stars Jackie Chan, who cowrote the screenplay with Edward Tang. In this film, Jackie Chan performs large-scale action sequences with elaborate stunts which plays hand in hand with martial arts stunts that are a key element of Hong Kong action films. Edward Tang is a Chinese film director and has produced many action films such as "Rumble in the Bronx", "Mr. Nice Guy" and "Police Story". There's not much else to find online about Edward Tang, besides that he was born in Hong Kong, China himself and that is was born May 16th, 1946. Robert Clouse was also a very influential director in the aspects of Hong Kong cinema, since he produced many movies with Bruce Lee, such as "Enter The Dragon" and "Game of Death". He is an American director, but became drawn to action films in Hong Kong. In 1978, Clouse traveled to Hong Kong and got hired by Golden Harvest's Raymond Chow, and helped direct a comeback movie for martial artist Bruce Lee, despite the fact that Lee had died five years prior. It was interesting that these directors were able to use incomplete movies that Bruce Lee has starred in, as well as Lee stunt doubles and look a likes in order to create a movie that Bruce Lee didn't really start in. Bruce Lee was born in November of 1940, in San Fransisco California. His father was a Hong Kong opera singer but decided to move him, his wife, and his mother to America. Later in the 1940s the Lee's moved back to Hong Kong, and Bruce took up child acting. In 1953, he joined a street gang and honed into his passions of discipline which introduced him to studying kung fu. The Lee family then moved to Seattle, Washington and Bruce enrolled in college while holding a job teaching martial arts to students and others. Years later he found a wife, and opened up his own martial arts school. He then moved to California, opening more schools for martial arts, while pursing an acting career that surrounded his love for the arts. He was able to do guest appearances in shows and movies, and broadcast his ideas to directors. Lee was the ultimate figures for these Hong Kong action films, and his love for the martial arts pushed him farther in the film industry.

Do you think Kawada likes Shaman King? Cus prim and proper lady with a Jeet Kun Do bodyguard sounds awfully familiar, doesn't it?

I'm always a sucker for lovestruck girls, so seeing Hanagasaki instantly fall in love with Bruce Lee and martial arts was immediately endearing for me. I know I said a couple weeks ago that I figured I'd like her a lot, but I didn't expect Kawada to lean this hard into making me do so

It also helps that she clearly does care about Takanori. She says that she wants to be like Bruce Lee, and she certainly seems like the type of strong-willed person to decide on a career path for a whimsical reason like that, but it's also obvious that she's doing this for Takanori's sake too. He loves MMA and has real talent for it, but he was going to give up any chance of going pro so he could focus on protecting Hanagasaki. I'm not going to say that she used MMA as an excuse to let him pursue his passion, but I am going to say that she saw an opportunity that would make them both happy and made sure to take it

Man, in one chapter, they established such a strong and endearing dynamic. They're definitely in the lead for my faves in this series. Plus, Hanagasaki's first punch has exactly the sort of aesthetic that I was hoping to see: her attacks are directly compared to fencing techniques, and even have flower petals for flare! I always wanted one of the National Treasures in Hinomaru Zumou to use a leaf or petal aesthetic, so I'm glad that Kawada looks to be making that happen at long last! Here's hoping we get to see Hangasaki's bloodlust!

Actually, I think that might be the thing that MMA is missing compared to Hinomaru; until Asumi's Water Hammer, all of the moves were just moves, none of them were given exciting imagery to really sell the weight of the moves. If Kawada starts bringing that concept back now, I think readers will start to get more on board going forward. Hopefully other people like Hanagasaki as much as I do!

...Ah, I just realized that I've been calling Takanori by his given name and everyone else by their family names. Oops! I'm already used to it, though, so I'm probably going to keep it up. I might end up changing everyone else to given names over time, but we'll see

To cap it off, I'm not really sure how this fight is going to go. I could see it going either way, since Kawada is the type who likes to build tension by making his characters lose fairly consistently, but he also probably wants to build hype by making Okiba wrack up a good winning streak. We've seen her fight twice, and she won pretty easily both times, so it seems pretty likely that she'll have a more hard-won fight here, but at the same time, Hanagasaki seems like she might be being built up as a major player, so having her lose in her first match while this is Okiba's third might not be the best showing for her (even if she's had three victories off-screen)

Either way, aside from what it will do for both Okiba and Hanagasaki's characters, the purpose of this fight is ultimately going to be to create tension between Asumi and Takanori, as no matter who wins here, their fight will be a revenge match for the honor of their fallen maidens. I get the feeling it would be more compelling for Takanori to be the one taking revenge since his character is more defined by loyalty than Asumi's is, and Asumi would already need to overcome having his confidence shaken from Okiba's loss in the fight with Kuronuma anyway, but it's really hard to say

I'm really looking forward to this fight, and as the first major professional match of the series, I'm willing to bet it's going to be the one that sets the bar for the rest of the series

Tonight I am going to write about A.I. art. I am totally against it, because I am afraid it would take my art career away. So far my art style hasn’t been generated and I am safe for now until the AI creator decides to generate my art style. I am very conservative toward changes or new things. I bought iPhones, because they are easy to use and they got internet when I need it. As for AI generated art, I think it’s unnecessary, because there thousands and millions of artists out there that can create art better than AI robots.

Plus there’s a Chinese saying good things comes slowly meaning take your time to create good art. AI does not create good art, because they are taking artists’ art as their own by adding some details. Also AI generating is still done by humans. Humans that doesn’t want to learn art the proper way. By proper way, I mean learning the art fundamentals like anatomy of the human body, structure of objects, light and shadows and color theory.

When I typed in Google for Linda Lee style art, Bruce Lee’s wife comes up or Bruce Lee come up. That tells me that AI is not truly creating art they just take other artists’ art and make them their own. So it’s really conflicting to use AI art. AI Art should be stopped for good. Also, taking other people’s art and make it your own is against the law. So AI is against the law.

What's funny is a huge fight erupts every time you mention it all over the place with everybody we're going to have to start smuggling them in.
