Hey y'all! Here's something for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week!

Solarpunk's aesthetics have its roots in the art nouveau movement, but if you look at pieces of art nouveau artwork, well, you see a whole lot of skinny white people. Not that there's anything wrong with being either skinny or white! I'm both! It's just, we need some more diversity in the landscape, eh?

So take a summery, art nouveau-inspired piece of a character inspired by my own girlfriend :)

Yes, I know it's rather messy! But honestly, I think that's okay. Art doesn't need to be perfect, and I like that! What matters is that you have fun and feel content.

So here's a reminder to any other artists and writers out there stressing about your work, for Solarpunk Aesthetic Week or anything else- Relax. Creativity is about you and about what you love and what you enjoy. If you're not enjoying it anymore, post and move on.

(I stopped enjoying this piece after my tablet decided to become very finicky and kill my momentum entirely. Had I more time, I'm sure the quality would've been more up to my personal standards.)

Why did I draw this?? Idk I was very bored and had this album on repeat

But I found myself drawn to a lot of the songs, one of the major ones being Noid. While I can’t 100% connect with the songs meaning being about Tyler, a black popular artist dealing with the anxiety of being in the public eye and wanting to be at peace and not have to worry about the people around him and their intentions, I more so connect to the meaning of just anxiety around others and having an overall uncontrollable paranoia with other people and wanting it all do go away and wanting to feel safe.

Living with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) has been a nightmare for me and others around me. While to some people I’m very upbeat and happy in public I’ve found it harder and harder not to be paranoid and fearful of everyone and everything around me. It’s becoming very tiring trying to not have a panic attack at the slightest of worries or interactions with others. Ive even had panic attacks when someone knocked on my door while home alone because I have a paralyzing fear of being robbed while home alone. But I feel kind of seen with this song even if it has a slightly different meaning.

Also a little story about the doodle on the bottom left corner is I draw on my geometry class’ whiteboard everyday and there is one person who has started drawing with me. One day I was listening to Take Your Mask Off and drawing the chromakopia album and she asked what I was drawing. I tell her and I showed her my Spotify. She says “no way” and shows me her Spotify showing she was also listening to the album at the same time I was! She then drew herself next to me in the chromakopia outfit. Really shows how music brings people together

whenever you see someone call that one mlm flag the “toothpaste flag”, the likelihood of them calling it that in derision is very high

i’ve seen multiple ppl saying “the toothpaste flag is stupid/unnecessary/excessive! just use the rainbow/gilbert baker flag! stop making up new flags!”

i’ve seen those same ppl complain about “the ppl who use the toothpaste flag said we were using the wrong flag when we used the gilbert baker flag!”

you know how many ppl i’ve seen actually say the gilbert baker flag was the ‘wrong flag’ for mlm? the answer is zero

i’m not saying the ppl who said someone told them that are lying, btw, just like… it’s not as common as their complaints make it seem

just let ppl use whatever flag or colors they want and stop worrying about which ones are “right”, it’s not a big deal. this is just the pushback against “microlabels” 2.0 😐
