why does it feel like pomni might be the first person who would ever consider actually... getting to know caine as an a.i. how he works. how he thinks and feels. it would help her understand the world better and why they're here and caine would learn to see humans on a more personal level since everyone does just kinda treat him like some creature that can't understand them so they don't even try. but pomni would try. and want to know. and maybe they would also fall in love idk who knows >_>

No but something about how Pomni and Gummigoo knew each other like an hour or two at most but they still managed to form such a bond that Gummi was so ready to go live with her in the circus and Pomni was so distraught and upset when he was poofed away and the art and render of Pomni fully mourning him gets to me like, even if we knew someone for a short time and we may never see them again, it still matters. It still has an irreversible effect. We can have so much effect on the people around us without even realizing it and that’s scary but also comforting that you can be really seen and noticed and cared for because of such short moments that don’t last long enough. They only knew each other for a short time but it was enough to make the other feel truly seen.

Gummigoo's appearance in Ep 4 really shouldn't have hit as hard as it did, like from the very beginning we knew if he was ever to make a return basically the only logical continuation would be him forgetting about Pomni. We had months to prepare for the possibility and like two weeks knowing his return was very likely and it still hit like a freight train.
