#i really hope doohan gets the chance to show he's more than deserving of that extension

something about alpine contracting jack doohan for their five race "probationary period" so if he doesn't deliver in their shitbox of a car they can just. replace him. the man has australia, china, japan, bahrain and saudi arabia to convince them to hand him an extension. jeddah and suzuka are notoriously hard circuits for rookies to navigate between turns which are by design intended to catch drivers out at maximum braking force just before a new lap and blind corners that demand they be taken at speed. i don't think it's a reach to say he's been dealt an unfair hand. here's hoping he survives the horrors of alpine-renault i guess

omg girl i need to know your thoughts on the matter because i'm sooooooo turned

like, as an argentinian i'm super excited about fran, i think he trully deserves it and he is going to be able to show how great of a driver he is

but on the other hand, i'm so scared that this might ruin his future? like, i have seen people saying that he can't come back to f2 next year, others say he can. but even if he stays as a william's reserve driver next year, how much he can grow from there? i can't stop thinking about liam and compare them too, like, everyone loves him but it seems like he is going to be a rb reserve driver forever, and i don't want that for fran

but at the same time, if is not now...then when? i'm sure a lot of drivers would kill to be in fran's shoes right now, not everyone has the oportunity to race at least one gp, so i come back to be happy for him again lol

oh, and of course that i'm sad for logan, i don't think he deserved how he was treated, but at the same time i can't not be objetive and think that he has made a lot of mistakes, so i kinda get the why he is out. i just hope he can have a brighter future

ooooooo my opinion on it..... ig i can summarize it into a few quick points:

so so upset for logan... not really over the fact that he got kicked out mid-season (if you don't perform, you can't expect to stay. not all team principals are christian horner) because he should be happy that he even got the opportunity in the first place – but because of the false hope and promises that they would keep him the entire season. if they had been more open about "we're not sure about logan, we're trying to figure out what works best" then that would make more sense

so so happy for franco!! so so deserving and i think he will do a good job!! <33

but also lowkey torn because what does he do after this? he can go back to f2, that has happened before, but would that be a wise choice? with zak probably staying in f2, and luke probably graduating into f2, would williams want three drivers there? they're not rb with 294 drivers in f2/f3 😶 but even from before this, it wasn't looking too good for the williams juniors considering carlos and alex both being on multi-year contracts. 😕 being a reserve is definitely cool and i think he could learn a lot from that and eventually get a seat if one opens up, especially if he performs well this season! like see jack doohan! and idk but i believe liam will get a seat real soon soooo

and yes exactly like you said, all junior drivers would kill for an opportunity like this. even if it doesn't lead to a full-time seat, driving for just a few races is better than nothing!!! like even if ollie were to retire today, he could still say that he was an f1 driver once. everyone's dream 🥺

no matter what happens from here, franco will forever be able to say that he got the chance to be an f1 driver, if even for a few races. such a cool thing and definitely something he can cross off his bucket list. <3
