i truly could not stop myself from sobbing while watching the mv, the lyrics absolutely destroyed what was left of my heart. the finality of it made it so much worse too.. sending hugs when you do get to watch it TT
i had the same dilemma about whether or not to get the album for the exact same reasons! it just feels like being kicked while down because of how poorly it was made and the money going to the companies. it doesnt make sense that albums from their lowest point is so much better than whatever this "budget" provided. in the end i did decide buy it, just because it is the last one and i felt like i would regret it when it's eventually taken offline.
yea i think svt was announced to be added pretty recently, but im not sure when. wow i didnt know there was a situation with them and dalcom?? i only thought superstar pledis was shut down because they were being acquired. thats why nuest lost their spoonz endorsement too, because their company NCsoft was a rival to the weverse company or something :( it really was ridiculous when they were the ony group who didn't get a seasons greetings. im pretty sure the last one was in 2019.
felt like i should watch it before replying so i finally did it omg i'm so sad!!! as soon as i heard the first piano note i already felt so emotional i really thought i couldn't make it through the mv but we got there ahhhh i knew the lyrics were going to tear me apart since i already teared up reading one line in a comment but i'm devastated....it's really over i can't believe it
other than crying me throughout the mv, they looked and sounded beautiful...but everything is just so sad...i know it's going to be a while before i can watch or listen to this without being in tears
right?!! like there was no care put into this i'm scared the memories will just be tied into the bitter moments but you're right i'm probably going to regret later too if i don't buy this now...
ok...yea i've seen that game many times since it's always recommended to me but i did not notice seventeen being there until recently so i wasn't sure if i just overlooked bc i'm not planning on getting it lmao but i was very surprised to see them actually get added, i remember when the merger was just announced i was under the impression that things would still be mostly separate since pledis was its own company beforehand and i remember reading that pledis would still function as an independent label or whatever
but nope...overtime, the stuff you mentioned like nu'est x spoonz ending, pledis eventually moving all their artists onto the weverse platform, pledis artists not no longer promoting on music core bc of the existing **** beef with mbc that they weren't even a part of, the addition of svt to the game is interesting and another thing to add that makes me think ".....independent label...riiight...." they totally have eyes and hands on what pledis is doing smh
the situation was mostly just with superstar *** ver rather than the pledis ver, since it happened near their purchase of that other gaming company and it was speculated (or was it just announced?) that they were going to make their own rhythm game
they have the right to not renew their contract with dalcom, but the way they handled it just left a sour taste in my mouth not to mention just plain rude to fans who have invested a lot of time and money into the superstar game to make another one exactly like it? like couldn't you at least make a different style of game and keep the current one with dalcom running? but we know companies don't care much about fans, only fans' money
small background on how dalcom functions is they work hand in hand with the companies for these games, just because they made the game doesn't give them rights to just do whatever, they can only update with pictures and songs that the company approves of and gives to them (also this is how they can give out official goods and signed album rewards)
at the time b** just came back with with a new album (released on february 21, 2020), fans were really anticipating it being added into the game but weeks passed and dalcom never updated it which made everyone restless there were many, many upset posts and emails to dalcom that they couldn't even explain anything because it's all confidential...eventually, most fans just came to the conclusion that something's wrong and the game was most likely getting axed, then the carrot tweet dropped and that fan explanation "if you have any problems but you cannot say directly for some reasons, please show and wave carrots" basically sealed the deal for all of us and they finally made an official post about the game coming to an end later (i think the official statement came out in may, the game ended on june 23, 2020)
the new album and song were never added to the superstar game
so yea i just think it's a little....much of them to withhold the new release for months just to squander off the rest of their contract like that...their own mobile game wasn't even coming out yet, it was still under the works why did they have to be so stingy and annoying during the remainder of the contract just because they knew they weren't going to renew since they bought out a company to make a new rhythm game so they can keep all profits without splitting
you're probably right about superstar pledis closing though, i'm assuming they didn't renew their contract with dalcom because they got acquired by the company above
seems like they wanted to integrate them into their own gaming app later on even though it took a while, and also pledis seemed to have abandoned most of their own artist list in the superstar game anyways since i saw comments saying the game basically only updated svt and nu'est towards the end
all this gaming issues aside!!! i really can't think of any good reason why they wouldn't make season's greetings for nu'est like lmao there's no reason unless the members weren't able to find time to have a photoshoot for it....which would never be the problem ;;;;
#i really felt for them (dalcom) back then because the *** game was their biggest success yet thanks to the avid fans ofc!#and this was the 3rd game they released (the other two being the sm and jyp vers) so it's like all that work down the drain#and it's not like they were doing a bad job it was just...money reasons in the worst way possible#it was also my chill game because of it's card upgrading system i want dalcom to revisit that system so bad but..never to be seen again#but yea dalcom is booming now and i think they're really doing way too much it has got to be taking a toll#and companies are becoming more and more greedy which is why i say their newer variations are cash grabs#like how'd they go from releasing a game once every 2 years to like 5 in a year omg#they have to be getting decent $$$ for the initial contract signings because i could've never imagined this sakjfsdfs#it was nice to follow the dalcom journey for a while but now i only play the sm one lmao#yes i gave up on the jyp version#question
