Apropos of nothing, i've been playing a lot of Cultist Simulator lately. I also discovered this picrew maker that lets you design custom portraits in the game's style, and i've made my protagonists (from this particular chain of legacies) thus far.

This is Anna. She was an Aspirant who very interestingly had Mr. Allen retire quite quickly after she started working under him; i chose to interpret this as her being a very impressive office worker. Sadly, her pursuit of power was cut short by her own dark thoughts.

This is Benjamin, the handsome but shy and nerdy doctor who looked after Anna in her last days. He proceeded to do far better than she had, pulling off several expeditions, recruiting over a dozen followers, wooing one of them (i finally figured out how that worked), and achieving success as both a doctor and a painter while running an occult organization. Unfortunately, this success proved to be his undoing, as he gained more than enough notoriety to attract the Suppression Bureau. He got off on his first trial, despite the damning evidence, but had no such luck at the second.

This is Callum, a bright young thing much less successful than Benjamin. As his inheritance from his father started to dwindle, Callum made a bargain that, if he had thought about for more than two seconds, he would have realized he had no means of fulfilling. Without a cult, he didn't have any followers to betray, and so the only person to hand over was himself. Hope the shiny gold was worth it, Callum you idiot.

This is Clara, Callum's much smarter twin sister who decided to try things like low-level office work and painting before agreeing to bargains with occult forces she didn't understand. Her cult is quite small yet, but the fact that she has one means she's already outstripped her brother. Whether she will outshine Benjamin as well in her pursuit of new, dangerous sensations remains to be seen.
