sudden realisation that if I let my accent go a bit more northern then everything I say sounds so much clearer?
#like have i been repressing some yorkshire accent my whole life without even realising?#i guess it makes sense bc my mum taught us to speak and she's from yorkshire#so despite having lived in the south my whole life I've always had a hint of northern in my accent#but also the way i talk sounds so slurred and incomprehensible#i pronounce actually like 'ashy' and any 'th' sound becomes just 'h' and like#there are so many ways i say things that sound so weird#but when i make my accent go more northern then suddenly i pronounce all the letters in a word. as opposed to like. 2 of them#am i entering my northern arc#or have i just watched too much coronation street (don't answer that)#and threads. + an ackley bridge rewatch a few months ago#gonna try and bring out the yorkshireness in my accent and see if that's the answer to why i sound so slurred when i try to talk#in my usual accent#like 23 years of mumbling and turns out i was just talking in the wrong accent#is that even a thing that happens#ramble
