Besides Murder Drones, what are some of your favorite shows, and why?

Its difficult to come up with things off the top of my head tbh hm. i only have so much attention span to spare for any shows i watch XD especially since usually i never finish a show all the way through- its hard to keep me interested- cuz most shows end up getting cancelled anyway T-T but lets see-

for example- i really liked rottmnt and monkie kid- for story and also they have the same animation crew i think- but i wasnt able to get through all eps. and yet the characters and animation are very dear to me.

i liked atla [not korra, sorry] because of the complex story and characters.

Tmnt 2003 is very very dear to my heart- one of the first cartoons i grew up with- even tho if i probably rewatch it, it might be a bit nonsensical XD but on a world building and story telling standpoint i still prefer it over any other of the tmnt variations- even if people say the more further seasons were cringe lmao- i still loved it.

Mlp:fim's story telling was oddly touching and i was obsessed with it for a long time- esp just for the sake of character designs and shipping alone lmao- [just the "friendship is magic" gen tho...]

also i was dragged into being a jjba fan 😔 i cant really uhh... say anything on why i like it XD i just do lmaooo-

Glitch Techs was also an obsession- i loved the trope and colors and character designs and everything <3 oh also Inside Job! loved the story and characters and how they solved different issues [🖕 you netflix for both these shows]

oh and one of my current obsessions is Scissor Seven <3 story, characters, world building, simple artstyle- aaaa

and these are still only a few i can think of on the spot and not counting movies or games. but again not all of the mentioned shows here have i seen through til the very end either. so yeah...

i just kinda gotta be asked if i am or am not familliar with a certain show XD

i won’t take this as gospel and I do agree that ehasz is overrated, but there is some evidence to suggest that this encounter could be true, maybe just overexaggerated:

- aaron ehasz has expressed interest in tokka in the 2018 interview where he denies being a zutara or kataang shipper.

- i feel like the person writing it could easily have stated that aaron prefers kataang over zutara if they were making it up. but the fact that (in the post) he said tokka makes me think that it is in line with an ehasz type of answer, especially because just a couple of weeks ago he posted a joke video where he chose azutara while poising the question of kataang vs zutara.

- the ending of legend of korra with korrasami parallels a wedding (zhu li and varrick’s). the atla finale wouldn’t be the first time they use the ending scene to portray a marital bond.

- aaron has ALWAYS pushed for a season 4. he keeps changing the narrative on this supposed season 4, even after bryke corrected him, but him answering that there’s a likelihood for a season 4 sounds exactly like him tbh. that’s the most believable part of this interaction.

there’s still a likely chance of it being fake. but it DOES sound much more real than all of those interviews made by zutara shippers claiming to be aaron ehasz.

saw this floating around sorry to rain on my fellow kataangs.. parade but after all the time spending about how zutaras pushed a fake interview with this guy im not gonna blindly believe this happened. Plus aaron ehasz is highly overrated in this fandom anyway.. i mean his idea for irohs son being killed by spirits? Awful terrible. i really dont get the whole obsession people get with this gu gives of jkr making up new stuff on the fly vibes to me.

i mean come on does any of this really sound beliveable? esp that END part of it.. and the whole s4 is as likely to happen as invader zim being renewed . IE was never planned. use your heads atla fandom.

Are there any ships in ATLA (canon or not) that you like?

Oh boy, you just opened a whole can of worms xD I'll try not to ramble too much here but asfjgfgkj yes. Yes I do.

Originally I was really happy that AtLA was making a comeback because it's on American Netlfix now and available for a new audience of mostly Gen Z and I was hopeful that maybe I'd see some good ships become popular because when I was growing up everyone like Zutara or Tokka or Jetara (not against them but they weren't my thing).

....But then I realized that all of the new popular ships are also ships that I don't really care about like Zukka (don't hate it either, just not my cup of tea). So I guess I'll just be over here with my unpopular ships until the end of time. xD Apparently I like villain ships the best.

Also I don't know if you meant just AtLA or the whole Avatarverse, but I included tLoK too because it's all one shared universe with some of the same characters.

Munday post

I figured maybe this week I’d do a different type of Munday.  Most of my long time roleplay partners already know me quite a bit and I also try to introduce myself to newer partners as well, however I figured this could be a good chance for everyone to really get to know me.  I’m including everything under a read more not because long post and also because I know not everyone likes seeing this type of thing.  It’s just a bunch of random facts about me and my favorite things along with a munday pic under the cut.  I didn’t want to just throw out a munday picture like most would do.  I’ve done that plenty of times before and there’s nothing wrong with it, I just felt like doing something a bit more unique and different this time that might really give people a chance to get to know me :D

So, first off, my name is Derek.  I’m the mun.  I just recently turned 30 and I’m from Indiana.  I work in a preschool, essentially as a glorified baby sitter.  I help the teachers get their breaks.  

I’ve been interacting on here since November of 2013 and I’ve had this exact blog with this exact URL the entire time.  I wanted something really generic and not just a quote or something like that.  I first tried TheEleventhDoctor, but obviously that was taken so this ended up being what I went with.  As for the theme, it too was made a VERY long time ago.  The TARDIS theme with the opening doors on the TARDIS actually used to be quite popular when I first started interacting on here, particularly with the Doctor Who RP fandom.  Although I’m the only one I see with it these days, if you go looking for older Doctor Who blogs that have gone inactive you are actually likely to find a few other blogs with it.  As for the background picture, I found that one myself except for the part with Matt Smith/The Eleventh Doctor edited on.  That part was done by someone I used to interact with who just surprised me with it one day and unfortunately isn’t on Tumblr anymore :(  Having been on this platform for so long I’ve obviously seen a lot of blogs come and go and I miss every single last one of them :(  However I also enjoy everyone I currently interact with and would recommend almost any of them.  Seriously, if anyone is looking for new people to interact with, let me know you are looking for people and what fandoms you enjoy and I can probably recommend a few blogs!

Outside of Tumblr RP, I enjoy video games, yugioh, reading comics, general super hero related stuff, watching movies, playing Pokemon Go (I help run the local PoGo community) general board games, watching my shows, figure collecting, and cosplay, most of which I’m sure is stuff many of you also enjoy.  My fandoms include Doctor Who (obviously), DC, Star Wars, The Legend of Korra/ATLA (I’m one of the few that likes LoK more than ATLA), Marvel, Star Trek, Firefly, Power Rangers, The Walking Dead, Yugioh, Pokemon, Sherlock, general Nintendo fandom, Digimon and Harry Potter.

Here’s a few things about me in list form.

My favorite musician is Weird Al Yankovic.  

My favorite book is Look Me in the Eye by John Elder Robbison.  As someone who’s been diagnosed with aspergers syndrome myself, this book really spoke to me in my original read through and since then I’ve purchased it multiple times.  I own at least three or four different copies of this book, partially because I kept loaning it out to people.

My favorite book series is the Harry Potter series.  Don’t ask me for a favorite book in the series, I love them all about equally.  

As for comics, right now my favorite thing I’m reading is the Power Rangers series that Boom is putting out.  Some of my favorites of all time include Power Ranger Soul of the Dragon, the Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who crossover, the Power Rangers/Justice League Crossover, the original Spider-Gwen series, Poison Ivy Cycle of Life and Death, The Dark Knight Returns (I know anything Frank Miller related is a bit controversial but I enjoy it for what it is) and Batman: Hush.

Favorite movies include UHF, Scott Pilgrim VS the World, Captain America The Winter Soldier, Captain America the First Avenger, Avengers End Game, the Justice League movie, anything and everything DC animated, anything and everything Spider-Man related (yes, I even like Spider-Man 3 although it wasn’t as good as the others), anything Star Wars related although I’d say Force Awakens is my favorite one, the 2017 Power Rangers movie, Serenity, The Lego movie and it’s sequel, Yugioh Bonds Beyond Time, Mystery Men, Galaxy Quest, all the Star Trek movies, the corny 90′s Mario movie, the Doctor Who movie, and Detective Pikachu.  Really, any of the Marvel and DC movies could probably make this list as well, I’m not super picky when it comes to movies.

Favorite TV shows is something I am a bit pickier about.  Doctor Who is obviously on the list, and I’ve watched and enjoyed most of the Marvel and DC live action stuff although I have a huge preference for the arrowverse and 70′s Wonder Woman.  Animated stuff tends to vary but a lot of the older stuff from the early and mid 90′s seems to be best for that.  Power Rangers is obviously on the list as well, along with The Walking Dead, Digimon, Avatar the Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Sherlock, Yugioh, Firefly, and off the top of my head that’s about it.  Everyone always assumes I’m huge into anime as well, but I’m not actually that into it.  Just not my thing.

Now video games has potential to be my longest list as it’s easily my favorite medium of story telling due to the interactivity.  First off, Nintendo and Playstation are my general consoles of choice.  Nothing against Xbox, I have a lot of respect for the brand but I can’t really afford to have three consoles (even though I wish I could) and Nintendo and Sony have more offerings for me personally.  I also do dabble on PC a bit, but I don’t really have a high end PC and it’s mostly just for Sims.  That being said, my favorite games and game series include Watch_Dogs, The Sims, Mario (mostly the “main series,” 3D games and 2D platformers but I do enjoy some of the off series stuff like Mario Kart and Mario Party as well) , Pokemon, Super Smash Brothers, The Force Unleashed series, Injustice, most of the Spider-Man games, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, most of the Batman games, Wario Ware, The Last of Us (still haven’t played the sequel yet.  Waiting to get it for cheap after seeing reviews), Days Gone, Control, Horizon Zero Dawn, No Man’s Sky, 51 Worldwide Classics for Switch, No Man’s Sky, the Tony Hawk Games (still haven’t played the new one yet), Time Splitters, The Movies, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Zombies Ate My Neighbhors, Kirby, The Legend of Korra game (the 3d one, not the really bad one for 3DS), Donkey Kong, Street Fighter 2, Punch Out, Metal Gear Solid 5 the Phantom Pain, Sonic Heroes, and the list could go on and on.

My favorite drink is root beer or chocolate milkshakes if that counts

My favorite alcoholic drink is probably just a basic screwdriver tbh

My favorite food is Cheeseburgers, although Chicken Pot Pie is also a top contender tbh

Since I’ve mentioned super heroes a lot, my favorites are Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man, although Supergirl, Batgirl, Captain America, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow are also pretty high on the list.

Favorite game in the Pokemon series is X and Y

For anyone wondering in relation to that last fact, my current competitive deck Barrier Stun.  Some of my favorite casual decks that I play or have played in the past are Lightsworn, Blue-Eyes, E-Heroes, Greed, Sacred Beasts, Penguins and Six Samurai.

In the last decade I’ve moved about 3 times

I own pets!  I have one dog and one cat currently, but a few years back when we lived in a more country like setting, we owned 7 cats and 2 dogs at maximum.  Most of them died of old age over the last few years.

Before my current job I used to work at Walmart.  Long time followers of the blog may remember that I hated it there.

I don’t have a whole lot of writing experience outside of Tumblr tbh.  While I do enjoy writing on here, it’s the interactions itself that makes it fun for me and while I’ve tried to write a few things myself, it’s just not the same as roleplay.

Anyway, I just sort of wanted to do something different for munday besides just posting pictures of myself so I hope anyone who read this enjoyed it.  Here’s a pic of the mun to go with it.

Do you recommend watching Legend of Korra? I loved Avatar and Voltron except the ending, and I heard it has a lot of the cast there so I'm curious how is the show in general, more like which one (I don't mind spoilers at all!)

Yeah I totally recommend it! :D Especially if you loved Avatar. Personally I much prefer ATLA over LOK, and I know a lot of other og fans didn’t like Korra quite as much. But it’s still a quality, top-notch show, and if you love the Avatar universe, then you’ll definitely enjoy LOK!

It’s been a very long time since I watched it (I think I haven’t watched it since it aired tbh) but LOK is for sure more like Avatar, than it is like VLD. But Korra was really great! It was amazing to see the world-building again, to see how the world is post-Aang. The setting is really interesting, I loved Republic City. Always nice to see the old characters again (and now their kids) too, and lots of great new characters and interesting villains as well! Some things about the story bothered or annoyed me (like there’s this love triangle in the first two seasons or so that really got on my nerves) but besides that, I loved it! I’m sorry I can’t really think of much more to say beyond that, again it’s been so long since I watched D:

As for “has a lot of the cast there,” do you mean the VLD cast in LOK? Because there’s not really anyone I can think of. There’s some similar staff between the two shows, animators, writers, directors, producers, those kinds of people (and Studio MIR animated a lot of Korra episodes), but none of the voice actors

I will also say Studio MIR’s work on VLD is much much much better. Some of their Korra episodes... the animation looked a bit wonky and character designs looked off. That was years ago though so it makes sense that they’ve improved since for VLD! But that’s just me being an animation snob lol

Omg you've watched ATLA? I don't know if you watched Korra, but if so how did you like it in comparison to the original series? Which Avatar spoke to you more, or in general which did you favor more? I loved Korra but tbh, the main cast of characters wasn't super developed.. I guess the older cast thing fell kind of flat.

I love Korra!!! So. ATLA is a better written story over all, though season 3 of Korra is my favorite season of any Avatar (season 2 of Korra was uggggh though). As a character Korra was way more intriguing to me than Aang, whom I frankly didn’t connect with in the ways I connected with Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, and even Suki lol. I liked him, he just wasn’t even in my top 10 characters probably. Korra was more directly flawed and relatable--in my opinion, this is just my opinion! But I would agree. Asami was pretty well developed but Bolin and Mako were not really, though Lin and her sister were pretty great. 

So haha. In the end I prefer ATLA to Korra, but I still love Korra.

But I’m biased bc I think Atla>korra, but the idea was really cool and made sense considering how it takes place in the future A more modern au would b cool (Chanyeol as an industrial weapon king??? ) or if u wanted to u could mix both, a modern take but the nations aren’t fully mixed yet?? It’s up to u really!! Of course I am curious about what relationships (romantic, platonic, friendship etc) u were thinking of having!!!

JAJAJAJAJA HONESTLY I PREFER ATLA like many times over korra, but i as ive planned atla aus before i wanted to change the setting, yes a bit more modern. INDUSTRIAL WEAPON KING DANG. ah you know thats a wonderful idea! industrialized but not as mixed, i honestly liked many of the traidional cultural aspects of each nation back in ATLA we can try to keep an intermedium in there.

for my first atla au most of the relationships went based on locations and similar, i had waterbender jun and yixing friends with nonbender kai from water tribe. and locations and origins have a lot to do with this, i had the water tribe boys being pretty wary of jngdae and yeol bcs was a firebender …. (does this makes sense?)

it be setting their stories and trayectories before stablishing relationships but i tend to have like favourite bonds, in most of my stories:
