holy smokes anon that's a lot of options! 😂 Thank you for the ask lol

1. How did you get into graphics / gif making I started making gifs in 2015 because, while I tried my hand at writing fic, I ultimately found it... idk, not fulfilling, and I wanted a different way to contribute to fandom. I'm not very good at drawing, so I thought, why not try making gifs? I remember thinking how cool it was that people could do that and make them look so neat, so I decided to try it out for myself and I've never looked back. I really enjoy doing it!

2. Do you do something creative/related “irl” as well? I do not! This is purely a hobby of mine and I'm unlikely to do anything with it in the real world lol. I move boxes around in arctic conditions and stab people with needles for a living. 🥴

10. What graphics / gif trends do you dislike most? idk if there's any trends I particularly dislike, though I suppose there are some things I get bored with seeing (like the gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss thing, as an example). But it's more like I just get tired of seeing it, not necessarily that I dislike it.

11. What graphics / gif trends do you like most? I haven't seen as much of them lately but I really enjoy the cool like color-coded collages people have been doing for different series. It's just a really neat concept and I like collages in general. There's a nice visual appeal to breaking out of tumblr's 1/2/3 column default. lol I also understand how much work goes into those so I just find them impressive in general.

26. Give a graphic and or gif maker a quick tip! In general, and this might just be an OCD thing of mine, but I always recommend trying to cater your gifs to how they will look on the tumblr desktop dashboard whenever possible. I mainly point this one out in particular because I have seen quite a few sets recently where half the gifs won't load or won't move (but they will on mobile or on a tumblr user's actual page). I struggled with this issue on one of my recent sets and it was just a matter of deleting a few frames to get the gif working on the dashboard like it's supposed to. I know when I see smth where half the set isn't even working, it doesn't make me feel inclined to reblog it (which makes me feel bad cuz I wanna support everyone asfdhdfh). idk if it's just a bandwidth issue or what. The limit is 10MB but sometimes toeing that line will make or break whether that gif works or not. I try to always keep my gifs 9.5MB or less for this reason.

And I know this only warrants for a single tip, but unrelated to tumblr dashboard stuff, sharpening and surface blur can do WONDERS for the quality of your gifs! I recommend looking into these processes if you aren't sure how to do them already.

28. Advice for any beginner graphic / gif makers? Don't stress too much about how well your gifs look in comparison to more seasoned gif/gfx makers! I used to do this so much when I first started and it always made me feel really down about what I was creating. The point is just to have fun, first and foremost. You will learn things over time! Never be afraid to ask a gif/gfx maker about how they do things or what tools they use, I think most of us are willing to help! Look up tutorials, find resources that will help you enhance your gifs. Experiment with adjustment layers, patterns, overlays. Absolutely feel free to take inspo from others and mash together a bunch of different styles to form your own unique way of doing things. As long as you aren't making your creations a carbon copy, I think most of us like to see when we're inspiring other creators! It took years for me to figure out how to get my gifs the quality that they are - it's a process! Just enjoy learning new things and applying them to the things you already know. <3

34. Gif makers, how many frames do you import? (And why!) It really depends! I import videos into Photoshop directly and the little slider has set points where it lets you cut the part of the video file you want to work with, so most of the time I pull more frames than I need and have to delete the stuff around the shot I'm trying to gif. I try to get the entire shot whenever possible, so the amount of frames absolutely varies. Though, in general, I think I average anywhere between 80-150 frames on a regular basis. I've managed to get as many as over 300 frames in a single gif before though. LOL

end of year love letters (2019)

this is simply just me expressing the love i have for my mutuals. i really don’t want to call it a mutual appreciation post, because to me that seems kind of formal even though that’s technically what this is. i started this weeks ago and was debating on whether or not i should post it, but everyone is doing appreciation posts so i will!! all of my mutuals are considered friends by me, but here in chronological order are each of my “love letters” to my closest ahgase mutuals.

Hello loves! I’ve had this blog for just under a year now but in this short amount of time, I can say I’ve crossed paths with some pretty amazing people! I didn’t know what to expect making a blog specifically dedicated to K-Pop. If I’m honest, I saw me talking to no one and being a shy hoe but here we are. I did hit a milestone a few months back as well. Owl on Warframe (part 2): Owlframes, chance games and butts

Ok so after some more time into it, I managed to advance on Warframe. Since the first part of this lil review thingie I spat out, there have been a few important changes and updates with the game but never the less the experience from it was pretty much the same when I tested it so let's go.

Ok so there's not a narrative intro here since we are midway through at this point. So far so good, the game has presented challenges and with a bit of skill you can pass them no problem. You go through the Sol System tackling down nodes, gathering resources and parts, getting more and stronger mods as well as fiding your style to play whatever frames you chose to keep. However, there is a point where the difficulty ramps up too much, its not really a bad thing other than a slight oversight on how the enemy progresses in stats as they level up. But never the less, things become harder from Jupiter as enemies sport better stats that are on par or can surpass yours, can take hits and can deliver more of a punch if you are not careful, as well as their mission objectives becoming a little bit more complicated to accomplish as they are getting smarter in some places.

It is when you reach Saturn that you'll be asking yourself "HOW AM I SUPPOSSED TO SURVIVE THIS??"

Jupiter's jump of difficulty wasn't so bad since now you are basically commined to throw a bit more of effort into getting better stuff, which is really not much problem, but Saturn is unforgiving if you didn't do that. Guess how I learned this.

So, once I had to make up the resources I needed to become stronger (which took some time) I could finally progress through the star chart as I used to from the start. You know you can do it when you can take down that one boss in just a few minutes/seconds of initiating battle.

This will go on the recomendations as well but let me tell you this: UPGRADE YOUR MODS. If you remember, I told you mods are a substantial part of the game, but it wasn't until I hit Saturn that I was forced to upgrade them as I went because until I reached there I actually never had need to upgrade them in the first place: just getting basic unranked mods was enough to carry me all the way until Jupiter and part of Europa. The boss I'm talking about too is actually on Europa so you are most likely to not progress if you went in like I did.

In any case, if you go upgrading your mods you'll find out you can progress as normal. But this also makes you upgrade any other new good mods you find along the way. In any case, is not something you can't solve but sometimes arrogance cant take the best of you. It will take some time to level and unlock stuff if you didn't already.

But anyways, once you have upgraded mods, the game's difficulty curve settles in a bit more and you can take on the following planets, at least until you reach Pluto. Having the right warframe for the job is also of help since some of their abilities are life-savers on some situations.

Personally speaking, among all my frames, my favorite warframe to use is Mirage Prime (thank you @mikonopants for helping me getting her, I’m indebted to you forever), or as I affectionally call her: (cl)Owlframe

She’s a clown, an owl, and a complete sweetheart, and I love her and her pretty, soft, round butt so much. But really her kit is useful for many situations so yeah she’s my to-go frame as she adequates to my play style. Besides she’s just so fun to play with and shes also the reason i got to finally try warframe in the first place

I still suck tho

Now, everything I said on the first was good things but Warframe is not free of its problems. I’m not going to talk about bugs or glitches since the game on PC is technically still a beta so yeah this is strictly about gameplay features/mechanics. Trust me, I’ve had my fair share of encountering those but this is not of concern here.

As I mentioned before, enemies escale on stats the further you progress, which isnt bad, but because of the way that boost works you'll be hitting a big wall by the time you face enemies on the levels from 21 and forth, so getting your mod collection to higher ranks becomes a priority as well as upgrading your arsenal with more powerful weapons that suit your style.

Also worth mentioning is the change in layouts depending of enemy levels: the layouts themselves are not hard to navigate, but the more advanced the enemies are, the more you are required to kind of memorize the tileset's paths and shit to accomplish your tasks more efficiently since they become increasingly complicated as you progress. I dont know how many missions of Grinner Spy I've played but now I know the layout like the back of my hand and know how to approach situations best depending on which layout did I get.

There' also the inherent problem of getting your mods in place: you need a resource called Endo to increase your mod rank but you also gonna need credits as well. The credits are not much of an issue, but the Endo can be since its given on scarse quantities (a few hundreds) when you are gonna need thousands of it. There's also an inherent issue with how the weapon modding system works: any rankless weapon will start with mod capacity equal to your player rank, but because these are unranked you won't get any more capacity until the weapon's level exceeds your rank level. You can imagine how exhausting that could get for a player Rank 8 and not being able to throw some good shit until the weapon reaches rank 9 (since it will gain one extra point from here on).

With that last point comes about the double-edge sword of farming Affinity (experience): There’s just not a reliable way to level up stuff fast to get up to speed but there is nodes and issions that can help you mitigate that problem to an extent. The issue comes that without a proper set up, grinding Affinity becomes a tedious task, which eventually will get mixed in with credit farming as you are gonna get stuff that becomes pricier.

There’s also some mission types that can get you exhasperated becuase you either get lost on how it works or plain simple you just dont know what to do or the mechanics are half-baked. Although I like the mode, Archwing nodes can suck my ass because

You don’t get any mods for AW from normal play, you get them on AW missions. The problem: the mods don’t drop any reliably, so you are gonna die and die and die trying to get mods to make it bearable

You don’t get any blueprints for anything AW, you have to research those in the Dojo or spend platinum. And even then, if you do get the blueprints its just too much resources put into it since the parts for any of the AW weapons you get them by leveling up Syndicates to rank 3 minimum

AW is hard to control. Or rather: it keeps moving forward in space, and it doesn’t move quite right underwater. Combined with all the above I can see why people gets frustated with this otherwise neat mode

Pursuit is just bullcrap if you don’t have a Fluctus and Amesha at least

There’s also some things that can help you further down the line, but I’m writting them as recommendations instead since its not really that very important but can still be good to know

There’s also the important part: RNG. You know what this entails.

Also bear in mind: since I play solo, most negative aspects of the game hit me pretty bad.

Graphics Extended: The Forma of Water

Ok I didn’t talk enough of this but really, for what is worth the game features very nice looking graphics, and can also run on toasters as well. Its just a pretty sight to look when the game runs so fluidly with all GFX turned on and shit. Granted, some effects can be annoying for some people but deactivating them solves the issue.

Anyways, the little details, decals, and all that sort of crap going on gets me giddy

Now, for the extreme toaster guys, there’s also an option to minimize the internal game resolution by minimum 50% (20% if you edit the configuration file directly). It looks pixelated as all fuck but runs very nice.

All in all, the only thing that doesn’t run as smoothly is the Earth Jungle tileset as it features a lot of intensive stuff but if you can manage to run it its actually pretty neat. There’s also Cetus on Earth but its mostly due to the connectivity aspect of the node. Hell, even the Plains of Eidolon run nicely, and look that its a huge memory eater (it takes me a solid 10 minutes to load into the plains but it runs nice)

Well, there’s not much I can add here: the game’s soundtrack is pretty good and now having gone through the main events I’d say it hits me a lil more harder cuz [spoilers]

UPGRADE YOUR MODS. If you do it as you go the difficulty curve won’t catch you off-guard like it did with me. You’ll thank me later when you get to enemies of levels 21 and beyond

Deactivate Reverb on the Audio settings of Warframe, it will drastically improve your performance.

Build weapons and see if you can change your old ones for newer ones. Let’s talk about stats: You know what they say, the more the merrier! some weapons are straight up upgrades from the stuff you might get first.

Along the last point: SEARCH WHICH WEAPONS CAN BE USED AS CRAFTING COMPONENTS. I still regret having sold my Lato, cuz I later found out I needed it for a Bolto. When I made my Kulstar, I didn’t repeat that mistake. Nowadays I can just simply buy out these but still when you don’t have enough resources yet, it can hit you

Along the last two points: Max out your weapons. More ranking for you means better weapons on the long run.

Don’t be afraid of putting potatos on your stuff, you are gonna do that anyways. Just make sure you do it on the things you are more comfortable with first

DONT FORMA YOUR STUFF YET. Better save it for the moment you can unlock Sorties. Because Forma resets your stuff’s rank and you are gonna need those capacity points to keep the stuff good, otherwise leveling it up again is a chore

Nightmare missions give out supplementary mods for your stuff. Rhino is still a very good friend, and so is Valkyr (except on energy drain mode, then you are screwed if you dont have a tankier frame or better weapons)

Use a Ducat/Platinum price list to see which Prime parts are worth selling for platinum or turning for Ducats. When Baro visits the relays and you have Ducats you’ll be a happy person cuz you can get nice shit from him that will help you by the endgame. If you get plat you will be ahappy person becuase you can buy stuff you need or stuff for your leisure

Seek out for groups to do particular activities. Its always best when you are with a group that has people all loking for the same thing, like running fissures to get an especific Prime, maybe scan synthesis targets, and the like, so don’t be afraid of looking for them

Spy missions give you lots of Affinity at low levels: easy to do, quick to do, I usually run Suisei on Mercury when I want to level up stuff fast, but other (harder) mission nodes may work best too, just make sure you can reliably do them quick and without trouble. Personally speaking, Grineer spies are the easiest in comparison imho, but don’t do them on Grineer Sealab tilesets. Gabii on Ceres is a nice Survival Dark Sector to get both Affinity and Credits at the same time, I never run out of credits thanks to this node, though it feels like a chore after the 200th time or so

I am actually on Pluto and pretty much completed the main storyline so far (i just need to take care of a few sidequests before the arrival of The Sacrifice), which is probably gonna be the last but its gonna take some time since situations out of my control have left me unable to play for some time. Still, my impressions haven’t changed: Warframe is a great game with neat ideas and stuff. Some work excellently, some not as good, but never the less is an outstanding free-to-play grame that I recommend at least trying, especially if you like games like Diablo 2.

Synopsis: You and Wonwoo work at a fro-yo shop and together.

“Wonwoo, we’re out of chocolate chips, can you go to the back and a grab some more?”

Wonwoo simply nodded and saluted you before he went into the storage room. You and Wonwoo had been working together at Franks’s Fro-Yo for almost a year now. For most of the day, the shop was pretty empty since most people in town preferred the frozen dairy confectionery at night. Of course, once the sun started to set, the place would swarm with people trying to get a cup. Luckily, you and Wownoo usually worked the morning shift and always had plenty of time to yourselves.

Wonwoo reappeared with a sack of miniature chocolate chips and wordlessly laid them down on the counter.

“Thanks, soldier.”

“Sir, my payment?”

“Ah, that’s right,” you dipped a hand into the chocolate chips and handed some to your coworker. “Don’t go spending it all in one place now.”

“You can’t tell me what to do!” Wonwoo chucked a chip at you and somehow you were able to catch it with your mouth. The two of you stared at each other in awe.

“Maybe you can tell me what to do,” Wonwoo muttered. Suddenly, the two of you went back to working silently.

The dynamic you had with Wonwoo while at work was a little odd. You guys would be super playful one minute, then quickly shift to stern and serious. This kind of emotional turbulence would give most people whiplash, but not the two of you. The flipping of vibes was a common thing for you.

Even though the shop was as dead as a corpse, the lack of conversation never made either of you uncomfortable. Not having to force conversation made the times you did speak really effortless and easy. That’s probably what you liked most about working with Wonwoo: he was the best company.

“So, what are you doing after work?” Wonwoo abruptly asked.

“I’m probably going to grab my sketchbook and head to the museum. I need more practice with portraits and a certain someone won’t sit still for a sketch.”

“I can’t help it. I get uncomfortable when you stare at me like that.” You continued to restock the spoon dispenser as you replied.

“It’s my concentration face, Won. I can’t help it. Pass me the yogurt cups, please.” Wonwoo obliged.

“Anyway’s, what’re you up to this fine Friday night?”

“Mingyu is setting me up on a blind date.”

Wonwoo had your full attention. You stopped restocking to turn to your friend.

“Another one? Didn’t you go on one last week with, uh,” you paused, racking your brain for Wonwoo’s latest-attempt-at-love’s name, “Jennie, was it?”

Wonwoo shrugged. “Yeah. I indulge him too much.” Wonwoo moved from the counter and seated himself at one of the fluorescent tables nearby. “She was sweet. All the girls I’ve gone out with are usually pretty nice, it’s just-“ Wonwoo paused. “There’s just something that isn’t there for me.”

You stepped away from the cup holders and sat across from your coworker.

“Maybe you’re too concerned with what you’re not feeling with them and end up ignoring what you actually do feel when you’re on these dates. At the same time, don’t try and force a connection that isn’t there.” Wonwoo rose from his chair and grabbed a bottle of disinfectant and a small towel before he replied

“Yeah, maybe you’re right.” You lightly punched Wonwoo on the shoulder.

“Maybe? Here I am thinking I’m omniscient and know everything.”

“Whatever,” Wonwoo rolled his eyes and you and quickly flashed you his playful smile. Wonwoo had the best smile.

“So, where are you taking this one?”

“Bowling, maybe?” Wonwoo began wiping down the tables as you returned to refilling the spoon dispenser.

You jested, “Aren’t you terrible at bowling?”

“That doesn’t make it any less fun, Y/N. Besides,” Wonwoo added,” you keep knitting me scarves for Christmas even though you’re an awful knitter.”

You played hurt and jokingly laid a hand over your heart. “If that’s the way you feel about my handmade gifts then I won’t make you anything at all!”

Just like that, the conversation had ended and the two of you were back to working in silent.

The shift continued. You and Wonwoo found things to keep yourselves occupied after you finished the morning prep. You took a twenty minute power nap under the toppings table, the two of you made bets on who could balance a miniature marshmallow on their nose the longest, and while Wonwoo was reading behind the cash register, he sat still just long enough for you to sketch both his eyes and half of his nose in your notebook.

Towards the end of your shift, a very frantic manager called the store and begged you to cover for them. Apparently, three people for that late shift bailed so they could go to some beach party. You and Wonwoo were the only ones the manager could rely on, especially on such short notice, too. Since Wonwoo had his date, you were the only one between the both of you that was free to work that night.

“Guess I’m not going to the museum after all,” you complained.

“I’m going to cancel my date. I’d feel bad if you had to work a double shift while I’m out having fun.”

“Oh, no you don’t. You’re going to go on that date and give that girl a shot. What if she’s the one? The universe works in mysterious ways, you know. This could be one of those life-altering decisions. She could be the mother of your children, Won. Think of the children!”

“Alright, I get it. I’ll go if you promise me to stop rambling.”

You were given just enough time in between shifts to go home, shower, and eat something before you had to be back at the shop for round two. A large group of obnoxious guys came in and annoyingly flirted with you all night. You texted Wonwoo throughout the harassment.

This guy just pointed finger guns at me and called me babe. I think I’m gonna barf

You found it a little odd that Wonwoo wasn’t answering your texts. Even on a blind date, Wonwoo always answers. You figured he just must be hitting it off with this chick.

About ten minutes later, in the middle of you counting ceiling tiles out of boredom, you thought you heard someone call your name. You looked around and spotted your coworker and best friend standing on the other side of the counter.

“Wonwoo, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be making a fool of yourself in the bowling alley right now?”

“Do you have five minutes? I really need to talk to you.”

You looked over at the obnoxious groups of boys occupying the store. Most of them seemed like the types to grab extra toppings or pour fro-yo into their mouths, straight from the machine. One of them, however, seemed to be some sort of voice of reason in their little gang.

“You have exactly five minutes.” You were afraid the storefront would be in a state of complete chaos if you left for too long.

Wonwoo took your hand and led you to the storage room in the back.

“Earlier today we were talking about how I always feel like something is missing when I go out on those blind dates.”

You nodded, waiting for him to continue.

“The reason why I never want to go out on another date is because of you.”

You blinked at Wonwoo, dumbfounded. “I don’t understand.”

Wonwoo, exasperated, explained. “I’m always comparing them to you. I keep thinking, ‘If Y/N was here, she’d think this was hilarious,’ or ‘Her perfume isn’t as nice as the one Y/N wears.’”

He stepped closer to you now and lightly held your hands in his own. You stared at him with your mouth a tad agape and your head tilted to slightly to one side, a look of confusion on your face.

“I don’t want to go on anymore blind dates. I want to go on a date with you.”

“Wonwoo-“ he interrupted you.

“You don’t have to confirm whether you reciprocate my feelings or not at this exact moment in time. I am asking you to let me take you on a date tomorrow night, just me and you. We can suck at bowling together or go to the museum and check out the Monét exhibit I know you’ve been dying to see. Just let me take you out, at least once.”

Normally, you’d ask if a confession such as sudden as this was a joke or not. Knowing Wonwoo, seeing the look in his eyes and hearing the desperation in his voice, you knew he was genuine. Your gaze softened and you held his hands firmly, trying to express the love you felt for him with the small gesture.

“It’s date,” you beamed.

Was the Fujifilm GFX a Mistake? Should Fuji Have Gone Full-Frame Instead?

Of all the current camera manufacturers, if you were to call me a fanboy of any of them, Fujifilm would be the most accurate. There’s good reason too: it produces some of the best cameras on the market and its commitment to offering meaningful updates, after the fact, is uniquely wonderful.

Its latest addition, the Fujifilm X-T3 is a fantastic update, offering incredible video features and image quality rivaling that of full frame. The issue is that although the company’s APS-C cameras rival full-frame cameras in some respects, there is an upper limit both in regards to resolution and lenses.

To address this issue, Fuji decided on making a brilliant mirrorless medium format camera, the $5850 Fujifilm GFX 50S. Although this is a fantastic and relatively affordable camera, I believe this was a huge mistake for Fuji.

The Problem with Medium Format

For the vast majority of the market, medium format is just far too niche. Medium format cameras tend to be slow, lacking in many useful features, and simply unusable for many types of photography.

The main draw of medium format cameras is image quality and considering the kind of lenses Fuji have available for their GFX, image quality is definitely an area where it performs extremely well. The lenses that Fuji has produced are astoundingly good but this is just when it comes to image quality.

Focusing is one area in which the GFX will not be able to compete with many current full-frame cameras. This is not to say the focusing system in the GFX is poor or unusable — it’s simply that full frame cameras are significantly better at it.

The Fujifilm GFX 50S

Frames per second and speed of operation are also other factors that make the GFX too niche for many types of shooting. Sports, wildlife, weddings, press photographers, and many other types of photography are extremely difficult with medium format cameras. Not to mention the whole host of incredible video features that are available in many new full frame cameras.

For the most part, medium format cameras are only really effective in slow, controlled environments. This essentially means that Fujifilm has removed themselves from huge portions of the photography market.

Now I do understand why medium format cameras are slower, but that’s not the point. The point is that they are slower and therefore, do not have as much appeal to most photographers.

Image Quality Is Not That Important

Having used the Fuji GFX 50S extensively, I must say the image quality is fantastic. The lenses are able to capture incredible amounts of detail and the dynamic range gives you a great deal of flexibility in post. But the thing is, the image quality differences aren’t as significant in real-world use.

The differences are only really noticeable at the extremes. If you need to recover your images by 5 stops then sure, you’ll notice a difference. If you’re zooming right into the pixels to see the details, then sure, you’ll notice a difference. Most photographers, however, do not shoot at the extremes and most images aren’t viewed at pixel level.

In my use, I found the difference to be about a stop at the extremes when comparing it to the Sony a7R II. For that extra stop, you’re losing a huge list of very valuable features.

Yes, image quality is valuable, but, in real-world use, it’s actually not that important when comparing cameras at a certain level. The extra features, speed of operation, native lens options, accessories, and flexibility that are offered by full frame cameras are far more useful for most photographers.

There are far fewer photographers that need the absolute best in image quality than there are photographers that need the extra practical features. This essentially makes the GFX far too niche for mass market appeal.

Pricing

The $5,850 Fuji GFX is one of the cheapest and most affordable medium format cameras on the market but even still, it’s just slightly out of range for many photographers. It’s difficult to make a super affordable medium format camera purely because the cost of the actual sensor is significant enough. Sure, there are rumors about a cheaper rangefinder type medium format camera coming soon but even then, it’s still more than double the price of many full frame cameras.

If you were to buy the Fuji GFX with the 110mm f/2.0 you’d be looking at spending over $8,000. Compare that to a $3,300 Nikon D850 and the $1,200 Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art lens — the cost is almost half the Fuji system.

In terms of image quality, the differences between both systems are negligible. The usability factors, however, are not negligible, and the D850 is significantly better in many areas. Full frame cameras offer far more value for your money and as discussed above, image quality isn’t that important (for most).

Point being, the price of this system makes this camera far too niche for mass market appeal.

What if Fuji Made Full Frame?

The Fuji GFX 50S was released in February 2017, which is over a year and a half before Nikon and Canon announced their full frame mirrorless cameras. Imagine if at the time Fuji had released a full frame camera instead.

For the last few years, the two major manufacturers of mirrorless cameras were Sony and Fuji. Sony decided on going into the full frame market whereas Fuji opted to stick with APS-C and before eventually developing medium format. The difference in market share and units being sold is clear: Sony is winning.

This is not because Sony makes better cameras or lenses. Instead, it’s because they made full frame cameras. If you have used any of the X series cameras and lenses, you’ll know just how amazing Fujifilm’s system is. Both manufacturers offer lots of valuable features and in some respects, Fuji cameras might even be better.

Even still, Fuji remains a relatively niche company. Even Sigma doesn’t want to currently develop lenses for Fuji. In my discussions with Sigma, the company confirmed that the reason is purely that Fuji currently has a tiny share of the overall market — it’s simply not worth developing lenses for them.

Considering the X series system, we can assume a hypothetical full-frame Fuji camera would be a very feature-filled camera. Sony has managed to make huge gains in the photography industry because it has consistently released very attractive feature-filled cameras. Fuji could have been one of the pioneers of this market.

Fujifilm could have beaten Canon and Nikon to the punch.

With Canon and Nikon validating mirrorless with their announcements, it’s clear to see that mirrorless is the future.

Fuji has essentially overshot things with medium format and underplayed their hand with APS-C. A full-frame Fuji camera would have been the perfect balance between the two.

Final Thoughts

Personally, I think Fuji’s X series cameras are more than effective for professional use. As discussed earlier in the article, they rival full frame in regards to performance and I’m a huge fan. The problem is, like it or not, Fujifilm’s cameras carry the crop sensor stigma. I don’t personally agree with the stigma but it’s still present. On the other hand, Fujifilm’s medium format camera is still more expensive and less effective in many ways than most full frame cameras.

It comes down to one thing: Fujifilm is a company in business and income and profits are its main priorities. It had the opportunity to develop a full-frame system and take advantage of the gap in the mirrorless market. Unfortunately, it didn’t take that opportunity and left it open for Sony.

Should Fujifilm have made a full-frame mirrorless instead of jumping to medium format?

The fact is, the full frame market is significantly larger than the medium format one. Fuji could have been the main competitor to Sony and its market share could have been significantly greater than what it is right now. We can assume that based on Sony’s performance: it was recently named the number one supplier of full frame cameras in the US.

With Canon and Nikon announcing their full-frame mirrorless cameras now, it might be too late for Fuji. Ultimately, Fuji will now retain their niche position and continue on the outskirts of the industry because they made the mistake of choosing medium format over full frame.

“Hey, Y/N, can you come down to the dorm? Hoshi hurt himself during rehearsal today and we’re not sure if it’s a serious enough injury that needs to be taken care of at a hospital.” Seungcheol called your cell phone in the middle of you stuffing your face with your favorite ice cream. It was your first day off in almost a month and you were trying to make the most of it.

“I can, but why isn’t your manager calling me? You’re supposed to tell your manager and then he calls me.”

You were Seventeen’s personal nurse. After Wonwoo’s time in the hospital, the company thought it would be beneficial for the boys if they had a nurse a personal nurse. That way, in the event of injury or illness, they can still attend some parts of rehearsal.

“All of our staff is in a meeting. We weren’t even scheduled for a rehearsal, but you know Hosh; he always pushes himself.”

“Alright. I’ll be there in-“ you looked at the time and then looked down at your stained pajama shirt, “about 20 minutes. Tell Hoshi to hang tight.”

“Aye, aye, captain!” You heard a faint voice in the background that you could only assume came from Soonyoung.

Roughly five minutes earlier than expected, you were standing in the open doorway of the infamous Seventeen dorm.

“Doctor Y/N is here to heal you, hyung” Mingyu called out to Hoshi as he leads you to the spot he was occupying on the couch.

“I’m not a doctor yet, you know.” You walked over to Soonyoung and immediately noticed the ball on the side of his ankle.

“I’m guessing you hurt your foot?” You gestured to his legs, which were being propped up by a mountain of pillows.

“Yeah, how’d you know?” Hoshi marveled at your intuitiveness.

“Lucky guess.” You kneeled on the floor beside Hoshi’s couch and began examining the area. There was already some slight discoloration.

“I’m going to touch your ankle at different points and I need you to tell me how painful these points are using a scale of one to five. One is little to no pain and five would be very painful, okay?” Soonyoung nodded.

You pressed lightly on Hoshi’s inner ankle and worked your way around to the outer ankle. The closer you got to the ball on Hoshi’s ankle, the more pain he felt.

“Alright, you’re definitely sprained. Can you walk at all?’

“Kind of,” Hoshi mumbled

“Kind of? You can barely walk! Jun and I had to practically carry you up the stairs.” Minghao had just entered the kitchen adjacent the living room.

“Don’t listen to him, Y/N, he just wants to seem tough in front of you.” Minghao continued

A light blush crept up on both your and Soonyoung’s face.

You ignored Minghao’s comment and addressed Hoshi directly.

“Hoshi, all I can I really prescribe you is pain killers, ice treatment, and rest. You need to stay off your foot as much as possible for at least 2 weeks.”

Hoshi demeanor immediately shifted from one of ease to severe distress.

“I’m really sorry about this, Hosh, but don’t worry; I’ll be here every day to take care of you and keep your mind off of your injury. Is that okay?”

Soonyoung’s mood was instantly lifted.

“Thanks, Y/N, I really appreciate this.”

For the next two weeks, you were Hoshi’s personal bedside nurse. Every day, you planned activities for him to do to distract him from the fact that he was unable to attend schedules and half of the rehearsals. One day you stole every pillow and blanket from the entire dorm and made a cozy little wonderland for you and Soonyoung in the living room. Another time, Hoshi sat on a stool in the kitchen and was the camera man for your new impromptu Chopped-esque cooking show, which Hoshi was your one and only viewer. Now, you and Hoshi were browsing twitter and talking to some of the fans.

A good portion of the posts was mainly “Oppa say hello to me!!11!” or “Hoshi I love you ♡X♡X”

“What about this one?” You pointed to the tweet that read: I think Hoshi would look really good with beauty makeup :)

“No. No way am I putting on that much makeup.”

Two minutes later, Hoshi was seated on the couch. You were seated on the armrest facing perpendicular Hoshi with your legs arching over his lap. Seated next to his lap was your small bag filled with basic essentials. After applying foundation, you began to lightly blend a warm neutral brown in the crease of Soonyoung’s eye.

“I can’t believe you talked me into this,” Hoshi huffed.

“You know you can’t resist these charms. I always get whatever I want.” You playfully stuck your tongue out at Hoshi. He chuckled in reply. You continued working on Hoshi’s makeup but didn't get very far when you suddenly felt something brush against the underside of your knee. You nearly jumped out of your seat.

“I’m sorry, Y/N. I was just grabbing a loose string from your shorts. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“You didn’t scare me, I’m just super ticklish is all.”

“How ticklish is super ticklish?”

“On a scale of one ten, I’m probably at 100.”

“Really?” A mischievous smile blossomed onto Soonyoung’s face

“Don’t get any ideas~” before you could finish your sentence, Hoshi began mercilessly tickling you.

You were no match for Hoshi’s expert moves. You wiggled and squirmed every time Hoshi so much as breathed on you.

“Stop!” You wheezed. “I can’t— breathe— Hosh— please!”

You ended up falling off of the armrest and straight into Hoshi’s lap. Falling onto Hoshi is what ended the tickle attack. It wasn’t until you caught your breath did you realize how close you were to Hoshi. Your next thought was: he is so beautiful.

“Y/N,” Soonyoung whispered while looking at your lips.

“Don’t give me that look. I don’t know what I’ll do if you keep looking at me like that.”

“I was just thinking… what would happen if I kiss you?”

“Why don’t you kiss me and find out?”

You stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity. It is unclear who began to move first, all you know is Hoshi’s lips were millimeters, yet worlds away, from yours. Suddenly, the dream was shattered by the sound of a door unlocking.

“Hoshi, Nurse Y/N, we’re home!” Seungcheol called out as the other 12 members of Seventeen entered the dorm. You sprang up out of Hoshi’s lap and attempted to gain your composure.

“What have you guys been up— are you alright? Your faces are bright red,” Joshua asked with concern in his voice.

“We’re fine!” You and Soonyoung shouted simultaneously, which only deepened your scarlet cheeks.

“Hyung, what’s on your face?” Dino attempted to hide the amusement in his voice.

Hoshi glared at you, he cheeks still cherry red.

“A fan wanted to see Hoshi in full beauty makeup,” you muttered.

“Oh. Well, don’t let us stop you.” The heard of boys quickly dispersed into their rooms.

You immediately began removing your work from Soonyoung’s face. When you finished, the spell that was on the two of you earlier reappeared. Hoshi, fearing that one of the members would walk in and ruin the moment again, planted a quick kiss on your lips.

“You call that a kiss?” Before Hoshi could reply, you cradled his face and gave him a real, deep kiss.
