Wind Breaker DVD/BR Vol. 6 bonus content – Boufuurin Vs Shishitoren Maruhi ㊙ Talk and Battle - Part 1

This is the translation of the vol. 6 bonus with the DVD/Bluray! I did not buy it for the bonus. I did buy it because Umemiya is featured on the cover. I have my priorities right.

There's 3 (4?) main parts to this - (1) Boufuurin x Shishitoren talk, (2) Hiiragi x Sako talk + (3) battle, (4) Boufuurin x Shishitoren battle. The battles are kinda hard to understand without the video, so I'll leave that aside for now and focus on just the talks.

As these are more like talk shows, there's quite a few areas where multiple people are talking over each other; in such instances, I will be omitting some of the stuff being said if it's repetitions or if they do not add on to the main stuff being spoken.

Important: A lot of what NakaYuu says will seem very cold/ indifferent on paper, and unfortunately this is one of those things that get lost in translation. In context, he's actually playing the deadpan fool like his pal Sugitan.

The 谷 in 戸谷 can be read as either "ya" or "tani", and both are pretty common readings, hence the confusion)

Umechan: Gakuran? (t/n: this is the style of school uniforms worn by Boufuurin)

NakaYuu: It's not that. *very seriously*

Yuuma: With that, the four of us from Wind Breaker, Shishitouren and Boufuurin will have a talk with each other.

Everyone (i think): Yes!

Yuuma: It's been a while since we've recorded our lines, and I think there'll be lots of memories we'll be reminiscing upon, but in Wind Breaker, there's often talk of speaking with our fists; Nakamura-san and I first joined from the PV, it's been a while, hasn't it? (t/n: They're referring to a special video they recorded for an event in Shibuya in 2021)

NakaYuu: It's a while back, isn't it?

Yuuma: Around 2021, yes.

NakaYuu: About two years before the anime, I think.

Umechan: It's from before the anime?

NakaYuu: Yes yes yes, when you get to our level it's like that. (t/n: this is absolutely dripping in sarcasm fyi; NakaYuu can only get away with a joke like this cos he's the oldest here) You start getting involved even before the anime is announced.

Yuuma: As for the two of you (Shishitoren), you guys auditioned?

Umechan: Yes...

Toya: We auditioned and received our roles.

Yuuma: You two make a great combo, how was it like performing together?

Umechan: It's my first time working with Toya-kun.

Toya: Yes it is.

Umechan: It was really refreshing. The other cast members, I've met them quite often at other places, so I sort of know how things will turn out with them. It's only Toya-kun I don't know anything about.

Toya: For me, it's my first time meeting most of the cast members, I remember that during the first recording I was really really nervous.

Umechan: I didn't know how it would turn out, but he was very Tomiyama-ish.

Yuuma: That's the matching being done (t/n: this might be a mistranslation; he literally uses "matching" in katakana, I'm not sure if there's an alternative meaning I'm missing out.)

NakaYuu: There's difficulty in reading him. (i.e. in reading his character)

Yuuma: Next is the visual commentary part, where we watch the anime while giving comments on it. First up, is this match!

T/N: I'm going to skip some parts and summarise some parts, as it's going to be pretty much impossible to match the dialogue and scene one on one without video

Sakura vs Togame

When Umechan first recorded for Togame, he spoke so slowly he was surprised, and in the end that take was used for the anime. It got easier to speak slowly as he practiced more, but at first he had to make a conscious effort to go slow.

Togame's script also had a lot of markings at the end of words (e.g. dashes), to indicate that the words should be drawn out / spoken slowly.

While filming the fight scenes, they thought quite a lot about what to ad lib and how to draw breaths in between lines. They were told it wasn't necessary to do it for everything, but on the day of recording they decided that they did want to include the ad libs and breaths for the whole thing.

NakaYuu, at the point when Sakura is kicked by Togame with his geta on: Getting kicked by the geta looks bad. (t/n: NO SHIT SHERLOCK)

Umechan: I would've preferred him to wear sneakers, it can absorb the impact a bit.

Yuuma: The geta is really hard.

NakaYuu: Of course it is.

NakaYuu, at the point when Sakura's head is stomped on by Togame with his Geta: That looks bad.

Yuuma: He's a real beast!

Umechan: Everyone, this is fiction.

Yuuma: Please don't try the same thing at home.

Umechan, at the point when Togame took off his geta: If he hadn't taken off his geta, I think he would have won. (t/n: LMAO)

NakaYuu: This is a power down event.

Umechan: His reach is now one geta shorter.

NakaYuui: His reach and power have both dropped. But his grip is stronger now

Umechan: It would've been fine if he hadn't taken it off.

NakaYuu: It's probably cos it feels strange using a weapon when he wants to fight fair and square.

okay but like the wind waker man. that intro. so many questions. we all know ocarina is dark but man wind waker just straight up said "and then they all drowned and the gods never came to help" hello??? how many years. how many decades. how much time did the adult hero of time buy for them? which child of zelda’s was daphnes? her son? grandchild? great-grandchild? when he stared at the rising waters and realized nothing was going to save them, his kingdom, did he think it was retribution for all the war? 

has it really been all that long? yes and also no. the lines are so blurred. the zora are birds and the kokiri are koroks and they had time to Get That Way but everywhere you look the old Hyrule, the Hero of Time himself, they're both all over the place. the deku tree is implied to be the sprout from the adult timeline but honestly who knows. the golden goddesses are statues on islands somewhere and there was a tower built to test who came after but…who and how and why? what was the tower of the gods even for? how did they know they’d need it? at what point did they accept the hero of time was never coming back so they’d probably need to train a new one? 

and oh my god, that outset island tradition. “dress your kids in green and give ‘em a sword and pray to the gods they’ll have the courage to cast down evil.” link rolls his eyes at it but he wears them to appease grandma. the revered clothes of the hero have had time to pass into “stupid traditional getup” territory. how many “failed Links” were there before Aryll’s brother? what evil could those children have possibly stricken down? the monsters in the woods?

“what became of that kingdom? none remain who know” like goddamn. say what you want about the hero’s shade in twilight princess. but at least the traumatized ghost got to meet one of his descendants and pass on his songs and his knowledge, even if that knowledge was only of war and death and combat. in the wind waker he’s a statue. an element of a legend mentioned once or twice by the last remaining holdouts of the past—holdouts who so badly want him to return, view him as the solution over all else, that they never pause to consider any other option. there are stained glass windows of the seven sages in the master sword’s chamber that are never mentioned. there is so much that is never mentioned.

nobody knows what the fuck anybody is talking about. link doesn’t know old hylian. tetra is running around the high seas (as a pirate. she and her retainers are now pirates. how did things get that way) with a piece of the damn triforce around her neck and she doesn’t know who ‘princess zelda’ even is. the juxtaposition between ganondorf, older and tired and wiser but still hell-bent on ruling hyrule even if it is a dead land full of nothing and no one, and tetra, a zelda that knows nothing, asking why he’s laughing and calling him insane. because hyrule’s dead. she has no frame of reference for his longing, or what he found so great about this sunken kingdom.

and this is framed as a good thing. the king of red lions thinks it’s better not to let either of the kids in on the loop until tetra nearly dies for lack of knowledge. daphnes nolhansen hyrule brought “the hero” back just to end ganon, and hyrule with him. was the plan always to let the sea fall in on him? maybe. i don’t know. but he rejects zelda’s plea with him to take him with them to the land that will be the new hyrule, because “it will not be hyrule. it will be your land” and that still gets me. he thinks the best thing to do with his kingdom, Hyrule, the kingdom of a whole hell of a lot of irl people’s childhoods, is for it to wash away. he wants the kids to live for the future and they do and they will and they name it hyrule anyway in his honor but he never gets to see it.

Yay! Thank you!! Have some assorted Mario headcanons (mostly related to my own take wherein he marries Peach and becomes royalty because I am, if nothing else, predictable).

✨ Who was it that came up with the theory that the bros' last name is a shortening of Marionetti, which itself is a variation of Marianetti? Because it's brilliant and I've adopted it.

✨ Hopeless Romantic Mario is REAL, God bless. Boy's believed in true love and soulmates all his life; he was popular(ish) in high school, but he never dated (or even went on a date) because he never felt That Spark with anyone, and he decided at an early age that he wanted to wait for The One™. "True love is love worth waiting for, Weegee!" he'd lecture as Luigi rolled his eyes behind his back.

✨He and Luigi speak exclusively in Italian at home and when talking amongst themselves. If they're both telling a story to their friends in tandem, they'll sometimes lapse into Italian without even realizing it.

✨ He's granted a knighthood at some point, and he gains the title of King Consort when he marries Peach. King Consort is rarely used IRL; here, it's used to denote that he has more political influence and say-so than a Prince Consort would typically have, thanks to his extensive history of heroism and the sheer level of trust he's gained with both the government and the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. So he's like... halfway between a Prince Consort and King Regent.

✨ He's trained to be able to do everything Peach does so he can step in for her if need be (temporarily, and with assistance), but at the end of the day, she still holds significantly more power than he does (which he's more than happy with; ruling is overwhelming, and his wife is awesome.)

✨ His full title is His Royal Highness Sir Mario Marionetti the Honorary Second, King Consort of the Mushroom Kingdom. The "Honorary Second" part was supposed to be a joke; Mario, bewildered at how unnecessarily long the original title felt, snarked that they could make it longer by acknowledging him as the "honorary second" Mario in his family (as Mario was his father's nickname, though it was in reference to his last name rather than his first). Unfortunately for him, the Toad recording the meeting didn't quite grasp the sarcasm, and it stuck.

✨ Even after becoming king, he heavily prefers blue-collar work to sitting in committees and meetings and doing paperwork and all that fun royal stuff. More often than not, he's either assisting with practical tasks around the castle or is in town helping people fix plumbing and repair roofs and such.

Subjects, Faceless and Voiceless ARG Analysis

ELLOELLO ‼️‼️ you might've heard a friend of mine started an ARG, and so, tis the time to analyze everything we've gotten so far >:D

real quick disclaimer, I do have confirmation on some of my theories and small pieces of trivia bc at the time of initial analyzing I was chilling with zee irl TvT

ANYHOW;;; here's the pieces I have so far

Miscellaneous (not a video/common knowledge) :

- that hot pink color (we see it during the first video, Stars, at timestamp 0:28) is important

- the videos of the ARG are all mixedmatched at different times, so not all of them occur one after the other

- it all takes place sometime between 2015 and 2024

- there's an odd glitchiness that appears whenever we change scenes or somebody gets hurt

- soneone hit and killed somebody with a car in 2015, that's why that year is so important

Stars :

- Purple first appears

- Pink color and static for the first time

- Red first appears

- Blue first appears

- We learn Blue's name is Kayebee

- Red asks if Blue/Kayebee remembers something, to which they respond they do

There's not a whole lotta lore in this one I don't think, but I have been told to look deeper. The phrase 'lose the stars' is interesting and quite ominous :o

Liar :

- Teal first appears

- Teal is calling somebody ('he' pronoun) a liar as Blue/Kayebee narrates

- Pink and static again, scene changes

- Splotches of pink in the background of the next scene ? (I have gained confirmation that pink will not be a subject/character in the future so that's been ruled out)

- More pink, it fills up the entire screen but only ever when purple is talking and disappears when Red's dialogue appears

- I've received confirmation that there's three separate scenes; first one with Teal and Blue, second with Purple and Red, third with Red and Teal

- Purple asks if Red hates them, Red doesn't know

- Teal begins saying a name to Red in the next scene, 'Koki-' before getting cut off

- The two both call each other liars but never deny the accusations that either of them are liars

This one's interesting.. The scene switches confused me for a bit, but overall just raises more questions

Sorry :

- Scene begins with a conversation between Teal and Blue

- Teal asks if 'he' is okay and Blue asks Teal to define okay

- Teal says sorry a lot 0-0

- 'He doesn't forgive you!' from Blue to Teal

There's not a whole lot in this one that I can see either, but as I write this it has reminded me to check the descriptions more often

- I've received confirmation trees aren't symbolic of anything, they're just pretty and something to be adored lol

Digimon Adventure Drama CD 1 (Character Song + Mini Drama 1)

I almost forgot about drama CDs! Digimon has a whole bunch of them, it turns out. Looks like I get to cling onto the Adventure cast for a little bit longer. This CD is a combination of very short drama bits and character image songs, as the name suggests. It feels a bit on the short side but I guess that's because it's only part one ;)

A very silly story about Taichi and Sora fighting a potato digimon (Jagamon) during home ec class. Very esoteric references to 1970s anime are made.

I liked that this was just Taichi and Sora. I know that was probably more of a budgeting thing, but one-on-one moments (even dumb ones like this) are important to me.

There's something icky about Taichi commanding Agumon to digivolve just for his amusement...poor little guy

Favorite part of this was all of the meta jokes about this being an audio drama. For example, when they introduce Jagamon the narrator's like "well...we can't show you what he looks like, but he looks like a potato just trust me bro"

I had to look up who Ikkyuu-san was. At least the one Japanese commenter on the YouTube video understood the reference lol.

A somewhat generic, but very Taichi song. (When it comes down to it, Taichi is a pretty generic shounen guy). Of course it focuses on courage because that's Taichi's thing.

At first the "you" mentioned in song was supposed to be a romantic interest and then I realized he could be singing platonically to Agumon or Yamato. I like the Agumon option best, that's really cute.

Takeuchi Sora's Fluttering Yellow Card

This was less of a drama and more of a little radio DJ-like snippet featuring Sora and Piyomon. Sora's VA is apparently a DJ IRL so this was an in-joke.

Mimi asks Sora where her hat came from and she just say "I don't know!" lolwut. I'm not sure if this segment is supposed to be in character or in some sort of weird "behind-the-scenes" world where the characters are aware they're in an anime. Seems like the latter.

Damn, Sora's song was pretty dark. It did have a tinge of hopefulness, but mostly it sounded like she was singing about depression/existentialism being temporary. Kind of like a "this too shall pass" song. :(

She sings about how she feels like she has no one to fight for and has lost sight of her dreams. This fits in with that one arc where she despaired over "love" being her crest because it didn't suit her. I think we all know that feeling of being lonely in a crowd, even a crowd of friends. This song helped me appreciate Sora's character a little more.

Joe's Singer Debut!? (Parts 1 & 2)

I like how these skits introduce the character image songs, that's a really cute idea. These characters aren't singers in-universe (except for Mimi), so I guess they wanted to give context for why they're singing haha.

Part 1 is Gomamon suggesting songs for Joe to sing and performing little samples. Very cute. (Of course, he can't really sing well lol, but that adds to the charm).

Part 2 is the studio rep explaining that the next drama CD will be about a love triangle between Mimi, Koushiro, and Hikari. That sounds like a terrible idea. No chemistry between either pair if you ask me...Maybe that's the joke though.

Loki is absofuckinglutely incredible. I refer to them with they/them pronouns, namely since Loki never really fully appears to me as either male or female, just... as Loki.

At first I was scared to work with them, or interact at all, but my first patron was Odin, and well... you don't get Odin without Loki, and vice versa.

So anyway!

Loki basically saw me and sort of I think just said, "That gremlin. Yes the small one. Him." And shit just went off from there. They knew I was working on my transition at the most back then, and that seemed to attract them.

I fuckin had so many weird interactions that were laughable pranks and nothing short.

Perhaps my favorite was when I'd been working with Odin, and he always appeared to me in dreams. I saw him occasionally, but every time Loki was there to follow. They were never far behind, often literally right there next to Odin himself, and it was awesome because Odin just sort of seemed completely done with Loki whenever they appeared suddenly or at all. It seemed like Loki was just following almost hooked to Odin, ready to pull some hilarious antic out of a tophat on the drop of a dime, and Odin always knew that's what they planned but he just tried to ignore it and that never worked.

But for years, I was trying to fight and overcome my PTSD which was heavily related to school environments. Literally most nightmares I had for a decade or more took place in a school, but anything that took place in a school or related to school was a nightmare. And those nightmares were almost a guaranteed nightly ordeal, multiple times a night.

Loki wasn't having that shit.

After years of enduring these traumatic scenarios, I'd slept one night and dreamt I was graduating college FINALLY. An end to it all. Only... something kept coming up during the ceremony.

First it was delayed because the list of graduates went missing, then after the list was relocated, the ceremony was paused again because of some unspoken shenanigans in the woods nearby.

But finally when the ceremony actually began, the list was so long that I was told to go off and I'd be called up when my time to walk would be.

Well soon enough the list turned out to be only mostly recovered. Some of it was missing. The announcer had to know the students by name, or they could have their names written down to be resubmitted.

I didn't know that until it was my time to be called.

And I nervously walked up to the steps, knowing my name is hard to pronounce to USA folks. And then the announcer called for... Magnus (insert actual dick joke here).

The whole crowd was ABHORRED.

I was fucking ASTOUNDED???? HOW???? WHERE DID THAT NAME COME FROM I NEVER SUBMITTED MY SURNAME TO BE A DICK JOKE?????

Panic washed over me, embarrassment, and I looked around with wide eyes rapidly.

Then Loki suddenly appeared behind the announcer, grinning and snickering as they gleamed at me while sitting on the podium.

I fucking SIGHED, grabbing my diploma, and woke up laughing half to death irl. I was laughing for many many minutes and I still laugh when I think of that dream.

Since then, I've not had a single school-related nightmare going on almost 2 years now. That's a lifetime record. I'm almost entirely nightmare free, with maybe 5 a year tops? That's incredible compared to hundreds each year.

What's more is, I've told this story many times before, but shortly after this dream actually, I bought the upgraded Skyrim with Anniversary Edition. I'd been playing LE for a decade by then, but said fuck it and got something better.

Well in AE there's an option to tame wild horses. You can find them, gain their trust, and use them as your mount.

I'd made a perfect 100% character of myself only as a Dwemer. Same hair, tiny height of a child, same exact face, everything.

And I decided I'd go grab the unicorn because I'm a gay fucker who loves majestic, magical creatures. I just think they're neat!

Anyway! I grabbed the unicorn and tamed it, then as any other horse, I could give it a name. But in this naming system, the options for what name to give are entirely randomized. The script pulls options from a premade list, and you don't get to type the name yourself.

In order to socially interact with a person online, there is only one thing you need to know: what to call them. A name of some sort will do. A set of pronouns is helpful, but in a pinch you can do without (albeit awkwardly... at least in English).

"What do I call you?" is the one question you're obliged to answer: unless you're refusing to interact with them altogether, they're entitled to know how you want them to refer to you.

Answering other questions is optional.

How much body hair do I have, and where is it located? How broad are my shoulders? My hips? How is my skull shaped? Did I undergo any medical procedures after my birth? What ones? What was done? Have I taken hormones? Which ones, for what purpose?

Answering this question would give the questioner information they might need if they were my doctor, or a prospective lover. They are neither. They're a stranger on the internet, and have no need to know what I look like naked.

This is another question that shouldn't be asked right off the bat. I see a lot of people who sort of have this mindset that nonbinary is like... more progressive or more radical or more freeing than binary genders, and yes, it can certainly be freeing for people who identify as such, but I think it's a mistake to ascribe any kind of political meaning to what is really just a person's view of themself.

I've been thinking about my gender a lot (as I do) and reflecting on my experiences. I often think back to when I was really seriously questioning my gender before I came out. it was a very difficult process for me that involved breaking down every notion that I had about gender, including what it means to even be a particular gender. ultimately, I couldn't define what it meant to be a man or a woman, because the criteria people use to define that, whether it's a gender-based or sex-based definition, is based entirely on social and cultural expectations. there is no such thing as a cultureless man or cultureless woman. I had a really hard time accepting that when I first realized it. I thought that by accepting that as fact, I had no choice but to consider myself nonbinary. after all, if I had broken down my ideas of man and woman so completely, how could I be either?

and yet, I never called myself nonbinary. it felt wrong. when irl friends who knew I was struggling with gender identity called me molsno instead of my birth name, or when they used "they" to refer to me, something felt so utterly wrong about it. I didn't feel free, I felt othered. I felt ambiguous, formless. it reminded me of the way I'd always felt living as a man - robotic, alien, monstrous. I didn't feel human.

but somehow, being a woman felt right. friends using "she" for me made me smile. being called vivi filled me with so much joy it made my heart flutter. being a woman made me happy. and so that's what I decided I am. I often thought back on that decision, though. I wondered, what if it's just a phase? what if I'm not really a woman? do I have any right to be a woman? how could I break the chains of the gender binary only to identify as a binary gender? it's been a long, slow learning process, but I know now.

I was correct that there is no such thing as a cultureless man or cultureless woman. however, there is no such thing as a cultureless nonbinary person either. the existence of nonbinary as an identity depends on the existence of a gender binary, which is inherently a cultural system. therefore, someone identifying with a gender outside of that binary is still operating under the gender system of their culture.

furthermore, there is no such thing as a cultureless person, either. I exist in, and am a part of, the culture that defines that gender system. my biggest mistake was assuming that the gender binary was a set of rules that society creates that you must adhere to, or else you're doing it wrong. the truth is that I have as much of a right to decide what being a man or woman means as anyone else in this culture. and so does everyone else, for that matter. there are no chains to be broken by rejecting the gender binary. a person identifying one way over another says nothing about how progressive or radical they are. it only reflects how they view themself.

so yeah, maybe being nonbinary is freeing to some people who felt restricted by their agab and now get to decide what their gender is for themselves. and that's awesome for them! but they're not the only ones who get to do that. I can do it, too. I can be a woman and proud of that. being a woman says nothing about me as a person; it's just a reflection of how I view myself. I don't feel restricted whatsoever, because I get to decide what being a woman means for myself. and that's awesome for me!

Emily/Elliot (Bunny.)

one of them, as you know, is my impure agere oc, representing all the sad and flashback parts of everything. I made them to help cope with my thoughts and feelings. They are based off of my appearance and my trauma. They age up with me.

BASIC INFO

Full Name: Emily/Elliot Bunzelle but prefers just Emily or Elliot.

Nickname(s): Bunny, Emmy, El, Em, Princess, Prince, Princette

Meaning of name: Emily (from Urban Dictionary.) An Emily is someone who is crazy inside and out. She knows who her friends are and try’s hard to look after them. She is very pretty but doesn’t always know that. She isn’t always the most popular, but to her that doesn’t matter. She has friends from all ages and they all adore her. She hides her feelings however upsetting they may be.

Meaning of name: Elliot (Urban Dictionary) Elliot is a true master at caring. He teaches how to love and be loved. A man of honour a man of steal. He's as handsome as a Greek God, as strong as diamond, as compassionate as a saint and is as gentle as a father's touch. C-PTSD, due to multiple traumatic events. They frequently experience multiple flashbacks and nightmares, and is usually terrified of leaving their safe space unless it’s with Stedge, even then, they panic.

Very young child:  Short but very curly/wavy brown hair, a bit lighter than when they are in older looking forms. They wear a pink dress with a white shirt under, and black school shoes. However, they can also just wear a sonic shirt and leggings, or a skirt.

Child:  They can vary but their usual look is long curly/wavy brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin, blood on their mouth and nose area, tired-looking eyes, pink dress, sometimes a nightgown, depending on the look, they can wear socks, bunny slippers or even go barefoot! Sometimes they wear bunny ears! Sometimes they like to wear sonic gear.

Teen:  Depending on the age as a teen, at the point it's  "kawaii" inspired things, sometimes just a Melanie Martinez shirt and pants (or skirt), sometimes overalls! They also wore band merch, stuff like that. They have either long brown hair, black hair or multicoloured hair like Melanie Martinez (dyed in variants such as pink, red, blonde (more like light ginger.)

Adult:  Band tops, but also ones with cute designs on such as bunnies or kittens, sometimes overalls or dresses, sometimes even onesies, since they can still have the traits of an agere headspace. Short Brown hair, is a lot chubbier than the rest, can be considered mid or plus size.

OTHER INFO:

• They age up with my current age since they aren't dead and they are based off of me.

• I decided to make them some sort of entity since I couldn’t make them a ghost and still be alive lol they age up with me.

•Their “trauma” is the same as mine, which is why I won’t write it in detail here but they are a victim of abuse.

• They are all bloody because its how I feel about my trauma.

• They physically and mentally regressed to the age they are supposed to be, if they are in their child forms, they are an actual child. (Direct reference to my age regression I use to help me cope with my trauma) They prefer to be in this form so they can protect and befriend children. They don't harm children or other victims of abuse. The children usually call them “bunny.”

• When they're in their adult form, they have a partner called Stephen. Someone who they have known since they were 17 years old. When they are a “child” he takes care of them and protects them to make sure they don't ever get hurt again.

• Their sense of justice is what caused them to want to help other children. They never want to see another child go through what they went through.
