I love the analyzation here! I never really thought much into these lines, but you picking them apart is amazing.

I feel like there might be a potential hint to a romajuliette parallel there, unless it was a coincedience...

Silas compares Phoebe to the sun in his mind, which we see Roma do shortly after in Last Violent Call, and also as we see Romeo do in Romeo & Juliet.

I feel like out of everything though, Chloe compared Phoebe to the sun from Silas' pov. Which is strange. Because I know her name means moon and such, but she would not have picked that comparison unless she would have been able to include the sun.

So is it a coincedience that both sets of characters seem to share this thought amongst one of them to the other? Or is it hinting towards some sort of romajuliette parallel for philas?

(Not me secretly hoping that phoebe and silas do a fake double-death romajuliette style I'm actually so excited for FHH.)

(over)analyzing some lines from The Priest and The Shepherd

"With every bit of nerve he had, Silas finally forced himself to look up, to look right into Phoebe's eye. She terrified him. She grounded him. She should have been named after an epithet of the sun instead of an epithet of the moon, because it was inevitable that everything in Phoebe Hong's vicinity would circle her in orbit."

I could analyze these lines in so many different directions. I think it is cool that he compares her to the sun after saying he had a hard time looking at her. It is nearly impossible to look directly at the sun without feeling really uncomfortable and having it burned into your eyelids afterwards. He also really has made his whole life revolve around her.

I think it is interesting that Silas' world revolves around Phoebe, and he expresses that everyone is. I think that from hints that in FHH there's a good chance that Phoebe's world revolves around others too. I'm pretty sure that she joined the Communists to protect Orion. I would say that Phoebe is overall more like the moon. She's always changing and half of her is always hidden. I would say that Chloe Gong was clever in naming her Phoebe, but it's also from As You Like It so-

"It was no confession. It was hardly even a declaration. But it was more important to him than anything grand and large. Orion was so hell-bent on telling Silas that he needed to say something if he was going to pine around from afar, but who decided that was a necessary part of love? They were twelve. They had time."

This is where I get to the parts that really make me feel ill even more than the above. I actually think that Silas is amazing for this. He's not gonna be one of those middle schoolers dating you know just a pining loser (affectionate) instead, but it also makes me ill. Mostly, because with everything happening, do they really even have time anymore? They are on opposite sides of a civil war. Silas is literally trying to hunt her down even if he doesn't know it.

"When he looked at the girl before him, the world wasn't some large, unconquerable entity. It shrunk down to the four walls surrounding them, easing the tightness in his chest and distracting him with thoughtful solace. How did he put something like that into words? How could he put voice to the fact that her happiness made him happy, because even when they were little kids, it was so clear that she had found her place in a world where very few managed the same?"

I really like twelve year old Silas' description of what being with Phoebe/loving her feels like. It is so pure. It makes me want to cry with everything that is probably going to happen. Silas feels safe and calm with Phoebe. I also feel like this whole paragraph makes me think of things I've learned about how for love to work it needs to be both a feeling and a choice. You need to choose to care about someone. I don't know if that makes sense, but Silas saying Phoebe being happy makes me think of that and also kind of Agape (one of the Greek words for love, selfless love).

Also, Silas really is just a girl trying to find his place in this world. I also think it is interesting that he feels like Phoebe has found her place in the world. I'm not sure whether I agree with that or not. I am excited to see how that turns out in FHH.

Ahem golden. "Love is golden like daylight." Just saying. This also goes with my Sias really describes such a pure kind of love even if he does also kind of idolize her. At its heart. I want to cry. It is going to be so hard on him when he learns Phoebe is Priest.

Also the fact that Silas saying "You know you can always depend on me, right?" is a declaration/confession of sort to him and that Phoebe replies "of course I know." That is funny to me for some reason (while also being upsetting).

I really like this passage but one thing that stands out to me about it is that, since it's from Juliette's POV, she's going on poetically about Roma and she's calling Benedikt a "faded replicant", meanwhile you just KNOW that Marshall is up there on the roof in this exact moment giving the same poetic internal monologue about Benedikt

the way phoebe and silas have never known each other's true selves because they're both constantly putting up a front. the way silas only knows phoebe's most authentic self as priest because she has the anonymity to be herself and not hide herself under a mask of being an airhead. the way priest brings out silas' most authentic self because instead of pleasing phoebe the first thought on his mind is knowing everything about her. the way it's phoebe's most authentic self bringing out silas' most authentic self. i'm ill. i need to lie down (i'm already lying down)

It hurts to think how similar Rosalind and Orion are to each other… especially on the part that they were often left out by their own family… Rosalind was being kept in dark by Celia about Juliette’s being safe from the explosion in 1928 while Orion doesnt know anything about Phoebe being the Priest in Communist and being handled by Oliver… Like i get it that both sides tried have their own valid readon to do so but it just hurt me how Orion and Rosalind need to find each other and only then they found someone who truly understand themselves…

Sometimes i wonder how Rosalind and Orion could have better chemistry when they only literally know each other for weeks only before Orion had his memory lost and they were separated for months, compared to the couples such as Phoebe Silas had known each other for more than a decade, Celia and Oliver been partners for 5 years, Roma and Juliette been a couple and soulmate before the disaster took place and Marshall Benedikt also known each other for so long… its really wonderful how Orion and Rosalind can accept each other despite having little time to really know each other AND EVEN SO, there still a lot of layers, secrets that they kept from each other…

And the fact that Orion recognised her when he was in total control by Lady Hong tells us how much he loves her deep down in his heart… plus, his body do recognise her, its like in his instinct to grab Rosalind all the time JUST DESCRIBE HOW HE TRULY LOVES HER and im gonna stop my list here because otherwise it wont stop 🙇🏼‍♀️

but well, i guess Rosarion is just really written in stars, that they were really fated for each other and im truly love the idea so much and wont ever complained about it 🫶🏻

Guys I feel like I am trying to put together a puzzle out of pieces from one million different puzzles where no one full puzzle is present. I was looking at This Foul Murder today and I came across the part where Marshall describes Benedikt's eyes as being "brown-grey" and "ambiguous dark". I was already familiar with this because I am a frequent peruser of Benedikt's fandom wiki page. But I always just assumed it was mistaken on the wiki page, because I was 10000% sure I had read in the books somewhere else that his eyes are light colored/blue.

I absolutely SCOURED TVD for any mention of Benedikt to try to find an answer and I came up with nothing. Did I imagine this?? Have I created an alternate timeline where Benedikt underwent a change of eye color akin to Thalia Grace of the Riordanverse??
