Greetings, you all may call me Mod Nova, thank you for stopping by my humble corner here in the infinite vastness of the internet.

I'm an introverted, mildly socially awkward young adult aspiring to make it in the music/voice acting industry. I have way too many hyperfixations for my own good and my ADHD makes me rely on music to do literally anything. Budding competitive fighting game, Pokemon, and first person shooter player. Drummer since 2 years old and wanting to learn guitar as well. I have zero idea what the hell I'm doing. Might as well write some HCs and shit while I'm here. Some rules first tho.

-Posts that aren't requests will be tagged with #nova's ramblings. If you don't wish to see any of that feel free to block the tag.

-No NSFW. I am 18+ and I can read NSFW just fine but I'm not too comfortable or confident in writing it. NSFW talk in general is allowed though. Posts will be tagged appropriately, feel free to block tag as needed.

-Maximum of four characters per request. There can be exceptions for certain groups like Phantom Thief girls, Licht Kreis members, Remix Heart Team, and whatnot, just as long as the group isn't THAT big.

-As I am a guy I will be writing for male audiences. Women are of course more than welcome here but this is primarily for my fellow guys who can't seem to find any male reader stuff. I know how it feels. I will write for gender neutral readers however for the sake of inclusivity. Do specify whether you want a male reader or gender neutral in your request.

-As a straight guy I will only be writing for women. Apologies but I don't think of guys like that.

-In general, just don't request any weird/creepy stuff. Use your common sense.

-Please try to be specific in your requests so I have more to work with. Don't wanna write something you didn't intend for me to do and disappoint.

To be honest, none of my OCs were inspired by different characters, the exception being Archie. His biggest inspiration draws from Viper in Titanfall 2. When I first played and he showed up, I thought he was the coolest dude ever. Like he was this cold, ace pilot with really badass voicelines. For instance:

“Your journey ends here, pilot. The skies belong to me. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.”

"When you get to hell, tell them Viper sent you."

“You hitched your last ride, son. This is your stop.”

And so on. I knew I wanted to make a fighter pilot oc at some point and this gave me the boost I needed!

As a design choice, I really based him off of Callum Turner’s role as Major John Egan in Masters of the Air. The stache, the hair…😮‍💨 I remember scrolling on Pinterest and seeing some photos of him and thought YES HE’S PERFECT! Especially the smile!!

Audio Editing Process

Hey all, just thought I'd make regarding the process I used to make the new audio for the Northstar Client mod I'm working on.

Really quick here are some helpful sites

First, the software. You'll need to download

Audacity

Northstar Client (NC. Also I'm using the VTOL version)

Steam

Titanfall 2

Legion+ (from same site as NC)

Titanfall.vpk (also from NC)

Visual Studio Code(for making changes to .json files if necessary)

And that should be about it for now. Feel free to use whatever audio program you want. I just audacity cuz it's free and easy to use.

NOTE: if you want to skip a lot of headache and cut out the use of Legion+ and Tfall.vpk you can download a mod from Thunderstore.io and then just replace all the audio files with your new ones

This makes pulling a copy of an original unedited file for changes (if necessary) super easy, as well as making the exported file easy to find

Step 1.

First you'll want to get organized. Create a folder for all your mod assets, existing or otherwise and try to limit any folders within to a depth of one to make them easier to navigate/find stuff.

Example being:

<path>/mod_folder

|-->voicelines_raw (place all your audio in here)

|-->voicelines_edited (export to this folder)

|-->misc (add however many folders you need)

Above is an example of a folder with a depth of 1

First select your audio from the file you created earlier and import it into Audacity

Step 2.

Put any and all audio into their proper folder and open Audacity.

For my project I need to have some voicelines made seperately for when inside the titan, and when outside.

These instances are prefaced with a file tag "auto" and looks like this

Inside "audio" in the mod folder you will see a list of folders followed by .json files. WE ONLY WANT TO CHANGE THE FOLDERS.

Open an audio folder and delete the audio file within, or keep it as a sound reference if you're using Legion+ or Titanfall vpk.

Step. 3

Edit your audio

Click this button and open your audio settings to make sure they're correct. REMINDER 48000hz and on Channel 2 (stereo)

As you can see I forgot to change this one to channel two but as another important note you'll want to change the Project Sample rate with the dropdown and it's pictured and not just the default sample rate.

In this example I needed to make the voiceline sound like it was over a radio and I accomplished that by using the filter and curve EQ. This ended up being a scrapped version of the voiceline so be sure to play around and test things to make sure they sound good to you!

Afterwords your audio may look like this. If you're new, this is bad and it sounds like garbage when it's exported but luckily it's an easy fix!

Navigate to the effects panel and use Clip Fix. play around with this until the audio doesn't sound like crap.

Much better! Audio is still peaking in some sections but now it doesn't like it's being passed through a $10usd mic inside a turbojet engine.

Next you'll need to make sure you remove any metadata as it will cause an ear piercing static noise in-game if left in. Find it in the Edit tab.

Make sure there's nothing in the Value field and you're good to go!

Export your project as a WAV and select the dedicated output folder

Keep your naming convention simple and consistent! If you're making multiple voicelines for a single instance then be sure give them an end tag_01 as demonstrated in the picture above.

Step 4.

You're almost done! Now you can take audio from the export folder and copy+paste it right into the proper folder within the mod. You can delete the original audio from the mod folder at any time.

Also you won't need to make any changes to the .json files either unless you're creating a mod from scratch

NOTE: As of right now i have not resolved the issue of audio only playing out of one ear. I will make an update post about this once I have found a solution. Further research leads me to believe that the mod I am using is missing some file but recreating those is really easy once you know where to look. Hint: it's in the extracted vpk files

Trying to make up transforming figures in my head that don't exist for certain characters and getting annoyed the next morning. Only thing stopping me is lack of access to a resin printer.

I am Mox/Moxter and have been a bot nerd since I was an anklebiter. Mostly gung-ho about other stuff like practical effects, costuming, figures/models, 3D modelling, old tech, lizards, and birding. I do art a little too, but I’m not too fond of the idea of putting it out on here quite yet.

Couple years of Spanish under my belt but also picking up and learning bits of Japanese and Welsh when I can. Considering others like Yoruba and Korean for in the future, but sadly I suck sometimes and can be a slow learner. Someday, I guess. I apologize beforehand if you see my dumb ass getting long-winded about Tailgate (full reason being too long to explain here).

I’m generally invested into anything related to toy design—mostly TakaraTomy, HasTak, and Sunrise bot stuff is my focus though. I am hooked on the design development surrounding Binaltech and Alternators for better or worse.

And wouldn't you know, a bunch of car robots helped me to realize what I should re-prioritize my career track to be. That's the power of my dumb interests at work ( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧.

Got tired of updating which music artists I like at the moment, but I tend to stick to ELO, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, hip hop, rock, metal, J-punk, ska, funk, and EDM. Q-Tip and A Tribe Called Quest are great too. I don’t mind getting music recs.

Captain Price (Dating) Headcanons!

This man is not a romantic. At all. He never considered himself to be a romantic and doesn't like cheesy romantic cliches....but he has this feeling of always trying to impress and one-up everyone else and reassure himself that he's better than anyone else who wants to date you. Don't get us wrong, he does love you a lot...it's just that due to the nature of his work skewing his standards of what's "normal", it's a bit difficult sometimes to date him.

He knows about love, how MacMillan has different wives, who always seem to be younger and more buxom than the previous one. He thinks of love as some kind of complex dynamic between two people, with unspoken etiquette and rules that he doesn't know of. Too busy with his work to ever even fathom settling down one day and marrying someone he loves...he just can't see it in his future. "Love" is just something you can use against another, (like holding someone's wife and kid as a bargaining chip) and "Marriage" was just having eye candy on your arm and make other people jealous. He has a very grey moral compass and his ethics are very unclear and vague.

Then you come in.

You don't blow him away right from the start, but you do pique his interest. You're new, fresh faced, and proficient in many skills. He gets to know more about you, and he's taken aback by how accomplished you are, and he respects your capability and acknowledges your usefulness during missions.

But there's something he can't just point out--why does he feel some kind of need to impress you? Why does he want to make you smile? Somehow he feels lighter and almost giddy when he makes a joke and you laugh--and at night, he stays awake staring at the ceiling, reminiscing about your melodious voice. Unexpectedly, he starts to look forward to meeting you every day, and he feels as if he could listen to you talk for hours on end, or just watch you do your thing and feel satisfied and content. He doesn't know why he feels these things however--he thinks that maybe it's just because he appreciates you and the work you do is useful and makes things easier when he's deployed. He brushes off his newfound feelings, thinking that sooner or later they'll just fizzle out and he can go back to working like normal.

The only catch was that it didn't fizzle out. The more time he spends with you, the more this fire inside of him crackles and burns more fervently, and it's inextinguishable. He realizes then, that he likes you, but he's adamant on saying that yes, I do like them, but it doesn't matter.

Finally he loses too much sleep over this, pondering how your hands fit into his calloused palms so well, and how he wants to hold you and rock you back and forth as you slow dance to romantic French songs, that his younger sister, Jenny, (Squadron Leader Jennifer "Broke" Price of No 9 (B) Squadron, RAF) had to hammer it in his head with a power drill that "you're in LOVE, johnny" and he regrets ever going to his younger sister for "Relationship Advice" because now even his older sister, (Major Jasmine Price) is heavily berating him about it. "This is having a significant impact on your effectiveness in the field, Johnathan. If you don't do something about this, I'm going to have to write you up and give you a mandatory leave till you sort yourself out."

He cannot go on Mandatory leave. He just can't. He'll die. So he takes a deep breath, memorizes the list of things he has to keep in mind during a "date" (or whatever Jenny called it) and approaches you.

"I really enjoy your company. If you're free, would you like to have dinner with me at 7PM tonight?"

You're surprised. Is Captain Price asking you out on a fucking date? You accept, but you're left reeling, shocked as ever, as he just says "Alright, thank you," and then leaves. He's fist pumping the entire way to his office.

You go out on a date in a nice restaurant in Hereford, as you're stationed there for the meantime. He knows this place like the back of his hand, and you both are chaperoned in a sleek black Mercedes-Benz 600 Grosser with bulletproof window panels towards the venue of your date. (He borrowed the car from Jasmine, and the random valet has a tuxedo.)

He is absolutely NOT pure but he's like. The awkwardest bitch to ever exist. Why. Why. Who gave you anxiety my love.

Not cinnamon roll either, these are skilled, deadly operators we're talking about.

Gets flustered for no reason ever and gets the most random anxiety attacks for what he calls the "smallest" things ever.

His brain goes FULL alert and alarm mode when there's a very small problem that will not affect his life at all and when there's an actual BIG problem in place, like life-ending missiles?

His brain takes a sip of vodka and then goes like "yea it be like that sometimes"

Bullied in grade school, high school, not college. He enlisted into the army when he found out being built like a mountain also meant that it was harder to knock you down. In combat, I mean. But it's easier to knock him down mentally..

would have actually went to college if not for his crippling anxiety kicking him in the gut every time he tried to go out for a walk. someone passes him by and it's immediately "shit shit shit shit shit shit shit they hate me i'm actually so fucking worthless like-" i wish i was exaggerating but no. he was just really fucked over mentally as a kid.

grew up being bullied like HELL because of how tall he was. like. it wasn't normal. it wasn't even bullying it was just some people laughing at him from time to time about how large he was. this actually hurt him severely and sometimes refused to go out and if he was forced to. he would cry

severely sensitive about his face. he looks Fine. not attractive or ugly but. just a regular german guy. but with very sad eyes. for some reason.

seems. apologetic. his resting face is a man wanting to apologize.

definitely suffered from depression for a few years in his high school days. just not wanting to go to school and it being difficult for him to even get out of bed.

he also suffers from extreme self-esteem issues. he hates his face. Very much. has tried to cut it on Very bad days. a few scars here and there but no scarring that's too extensive.

prone to self harming. due to overthinking and extensive blaming and self-deprecating thoughts.

not as bad as ghost but. still Very bad

on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much of a pathetic wreck of a man he is? he's a solid 20.

wears a mask because he is Sensitive. very. he hates his face, he hates mirror, he hates his reflection. very very thankful for his headgear and how it hides his face because he hates his face so so much

cries a lot too. will just break out crying sometimes when he pent up Too much emotion and silent tears will come out of his eyes. but you won't see it. because it's hidden

yeah he literally thinks Everyone hates him just at first glance. he tries not to though. he tries to just focus on the job but he can't help but tremble sometimes.

you'll catch him shaking or stammering on his words too much and he'll just. ignore it if you point it out. and then slam his head on a desk inside his room when you're out of earshot

super critical of himself and his actions. TOO critical.

sometimes he just. can't help it. but. suddenly he will feel like his life TRULY is on the line if he doesn't flick the light switch twenty times and blink his eyes five times so that he's safe and all his loved ones are safe and-

too clean of a room. too clean. no dust anywhere. reorganizes four times a day. indecisive. Cannot be trusted to make decisions. absolutely not.

he's OK in the battlefield but outside of fighting and shooting......... he's pathetic.

Not me choking tears back over Astroneer's ending where a little fragment of data that looks like a fox sacrifices itself to send a distress signal so you and everyone else will be okay. Not me crying over the fact that the AI in charge of the little fox made a copy of it to keep you company. Not me crying over that AI knowing it would need to die so everyone could live and that life support would go on. Not me crying over games ive never played. Not me crying over the end of Titanfall 2. Not me wishing I could have saved Jackie Welles somehow. Not me thinking about Erased again. Not me thinking about Byakuya Ishigami giving everything so his son would have a chance to save the world. Not me letting myself feel sorrow and loss because its healthy. To know loss makes what you have all the more precious. Goddamn it, fight for it. Even if you have tears streaming down your face, the fight is worth it. I'm not gonna tag this. If anyone sees it, they see it. I'm emotional at 1 am and needed to dump.
