I have some serious gripes with the last episode. Especially when it comes to how Isaac was characterized. This was such a wonderful opportunity for him to gain some humility and I think that opportunity was wasted. The Patience we saw in the flashback could have given him a serious talking to that would’ve taken him down a peg. But the version of Patience that we got didn’t really know what to do with him once he was in the dirt. It feels like he walked away from the experience having learned nothing.
I hated the scene when he recognized he was a bad friend, husband, and fiancé and vowed to be a better person if they got out of the dirt and then immediately says something selfish to Sass. That’s the joke? “Oh you thought Isaac was going to have a genuine moment of self reflection and growth? Jokes on you, dumbass! He’s as bad as ever!” I will break your car windows with a baseball bat. And even when they get out, he still needed to be convinced to right his wrongs and invite Patience into the house???
If this show actually succeeds in making me genuinely hate my favorite character I will be both infuriated and impressed. He was insufferable this episode.
And then there’s Nigel. I cannot believe how little screen time he got. And in that time managed to drop some of the saddest lines in the whole show! Nigel has literally no support system right now. Isaac has all his friends there to encourage him after the wedding. Nigel has…Jenkins? His ex who wanted to sabotage his relationship in the first place? And Baxter, who was more than happy to co-opt his wedding to marry carol. I don’t know why we are being deprived of seeing him process his heartbreak? That’s the interesting stuff! But no, by all means let’s gets back to watching Thor body shame Trevor for some reason.
Sam was the only one who remotely showed concern for him. Even jay was kinda an ass to him. I get that because Jay can’t see or hear the ghosts, it doesn’t always click for him that they’re real people with real feelings, and so he can be insensitive to them at times, but never feels like he’s doing it with malice.. But there was really no reason for him to say all that when he knew Nigel was in the room, other than to twist the knife. It was very odd for him to do. Just call him a slur, Jay
Also, if I was crying on the couch after getting my heart broken in one of the worst ways possible and everyone in the vicinity expected me to leave my new home and go cry alone in a dark dusty shed…. I might become evil.
Ok this got way too long. I will end my dissertation here

CBS Ghosts - Hello! - The Game Has Begun!
Warning Spoilers May Appear.
First question - how do they decide who does what when? Why Pete first? Did he introduce himself? Also, why not Isaac? Why not Trevor?
I'm surprised Pete's so gung-ho about this.
Like clearly Sam's struggling, and he's just like "I got the silent treatment all the time - so I got this."
Why, Pete? It's weird because he's TYPICALLY the one that's called 'a saint of a man' and 'the best of all of us' and 'the most pure and innocent', but he's literally helping to torture Sam here. It paints him in a shade of gray that I really like. Because there HAS to be a reason that he stayed as a ghost and honestly, he's the hardest one to figure out WHY he's staying. For everyone else it seems a little more certain. Although ... nah, I'll get to that later.
What's also interesting is what we learn in just two sentences.
He was married for 16 years. His marriage was bad - especially if he was used to the silent treatment. And he's gleeful about bothering Sam, who just wants to live her life.
LMAO - Thor's contribution is to just yell "death to you" from a closet - wow, Thor. Wow. Maybe he figured that his curse would be enough?
BTW that would scared the crap out of me for sure. I'm terrified of things popping out at me.
Okay, let me get this straight. Jay knows what's going on and asks "is it getting better" and she says "no" and his SOLUTION is to go to sleep?
Jay, what the hell? "I'm sure it'll be better tomorrow - will it, Jay? Will it?"
You're not being helpful, Jay - you're lucky you're amazing otherwise.
Also, Alberta is STILL going on about her murder and this actually pretty funny considering. Do ya'll think that when she first died, she ran through her suspects with the other ghosts? Do you think she talked about it nonstop? Do you think she WANTS to be murdered PURELY because she was trying to deal with her death? I think so.
Wonder how Hetty felt about that.
No wonder the other ghosts are just like "ugh." They're just like over it.
Alberta, don't you sleep?
Also, imagine laying in bed, trying to sleep and just listening to this woman - the only one to introduce herself as far as we know - just gleefully talking about her murder and how she was cheating with some woman's man but that can't be the reason she was murdered because she didn't know so it doesn't count.
This makes me feel less bad about her boytoy cheating on her because she cheated, too. Of course, given her murderer... I do feel bad again.
On the other hand, I love how she's just like "it doesn't count" - lmao, Alberta. It still counts, I promise.
Okay this is the STUFF OF NIGHTMARES.
I constantly freak out about finding someone suddenly in my room while I'm sleeping. Especially right when I wake up and especially when I've sleep paralysis and can't move. Anyway, you suck, Sass.
Screw the gasp, I would've started Screaming and I wouldn't have stopped.
Okay, Sass. If you really think that this is 'scary', WHY are you doing it? And can you imagine waking up and not being able to go to the bathroom since he followed her in there for toothbrushing? Also, did Sam CHANGE in front of Sass? Or did she ask him to leave her alone for five minutes? I need to know.
Also, we learn about Sass here - he hates and thinks being a ghost for Eternity sucks. Which makes sense because it's been over 500 years (the flashback in his episode later on shows a 1513 date).
He also lives for some kind of entertainment. Hence telling Sam about the drama he creates. It's pretty funny actually and I kind of love it. Drama king!
And he's very aware. "I will take to my grave - which will never come - hence why I'm bothering you."
Sam just walks away.
Poor Sam - I'm surprised she doesn't insist on going to a hotel or something. I would.
Feel free to chat :)

CBS Ghosts - Hello! - The Game Has Begun
The Ghosts have begun their game of getting Sam to pay attention to them.
Spoilers may appear.
Discussion and Gifs below:

CBS Ghosts Review/Ramble time!
My rambling will probably be a bit different here. I’m on the last day of a wash-out so many trips to the toilet and sort of low on sleep due to this. While I usually write as a I watch (pausing so I don’t miss anything), I may put it more in a “review” section where I write afterwards.
Or a mixture of both.
I don’t know. Guess we’ll see, huh?
Swearing.
Spoilers for CBS Ghosts Season One; Episode Sixteen: Trevor’s Pants
Initial thoughts based on summary:
Yay more Trevor!
No, not more Flower.
I may just ignore that subplot. Sorry, Thor.
But also “former friend?”
It could be just that Trevor’s dead and a ghost but I’m watching that.
FLASHBACK FLASHBACK!
The show is saying Pinkus way too much so he’s gotta be the former friend.
Also I need you all to know that for my past review/rambles - I have been living on the edge and typing it up on tumblr as I go. I have decided not to live on the edge anymore and transferred to typing up on googledocs.
“I would argue a lead pipe beats that but I get your point,” Alberta.
Okay. Ideal episode: Alberta and Trevor. Since this is a Trevor-focused episode, he gets to be the subplot in Alberta’s episode.
Oh, okay. It’s Ari. But also the Ari’d thing just reminds me of this Horrible Histories Sketch sooo there you go.
Also Plinkus’s name was said way too much to not be important. You better have lost your fucking pants, Plinkus. Don’t be responsible for Trevor dying. Be responsible for his no-pants situation.
I love how Sam just completely forgets that she’s the only one who can see ghosts. And she interacts with the ghosts often enough that it’s believable.
Omg, Alberta’s face as Sam tries to recover from her slip-up.
“You’ve never asked him about this?” - Isaac to Sam.
Lol, she never asked because she was unsure of etiquette which fair.
Also that close-up of Sass shaking his head. He knows Trevor be lying. And we all know Sass spills someone’s secret within like five seconds of being bored.
“It’s hard to say, I knew a lot of Trevors,” - Ari. The optimism in me wants that to be because Ari’s dealing with a bit of guilt over Trevor’s death. It is a very small part. The rest is of course.
Ouch, poor Trevor.
“Surely he must remember the night that you died,” - Isaac.
Okay, I wish I knew/could screenshot but right after Trevor says “We were here to celebrate Pinkus’s promotion,” he is exuding I-am-a puppy vibes.
Lol, Ari went with the “quick phone” call excuse. So either he is feeling very guilty or he’s like “how the fuck does this random chick I’ve never met know I killed a guy?!’.
Sass’s face at Isaac when he mentions Hamilton. You know what? I changed my ideal episode - it’s the same but with close-ups of Sass’s reactions to everything that’s going on.
“Is this a sex-thing?” - Sass.
“Am I willing to go with the flow? No.” Hetty and she said it so disgusted too like she could not believe they would even need to ask that.
“Yeah, this is a sex-thing, I’m out.” - Sass. Good boundaries, Sass.
Also I noticed Trevor was not one of the interviewees. You’ve moved down on my list, Thor.
OMG, Trevor actually doesn’t know. He doesn’t know.
“Oh, come on. That was gasp-worthy. There’s something wrong with you people,” - Isaac.
Isaac is right. Sass put a lot into that moment and he should have received multiple gasps. Trevor can be excused from the gasping since it’s about him. But c’mon, Isaac really out being the only one appreciating Sass by gasping.
“Something happened and I never told you because I know how much you love your bros,” - Sass.
Oh no. I’m going to fucking cry.
“I know the story of how you really lost your pants,” - Sass.
Lol Isaac gasping twice to get everyone else to gasp. I’m with Isaac here. Worst audience. Except for Isaac obviously. Trevor still excused. If it’s about the person, they can be excused from gasping.
OMG Trevor actually gave his pants and boxers to someone! I know I accidentally spoiled myself and someone told me my theory (hi you!) was right (in regards to Trevor’s pants) but…I still wasn’t expecting it.
My theories are never true. Wrong detail is that I thought it was a random stranger but hell, I’ll take it.
“And are you sure Trevor didn’t like put hot sauce in the man’s pants to burn the guy’s weaner?” Geez Alberta but also fucking laughing.
Sam “I was just walking BY THE LAKE”. They dumped his body in the lake, poor Trevor. Also I know someone in the discord said/thought that Trevor’s friends were and you were right. I’m sorry I can’t remember your name but shout out to you.
The Alberta, Isaac, Sass, Hetty and Sam team-up to get revenge on Ari while still holding to Trevor’s wish is amazing.
“Trevor, you thought you did not have bros, but you are mistaken.” - Hetty.
“You have bros. And we are they. Enjoy” - Isaac.
Lol Jay is very confused when Sam starts chanting chug but joins in regardless. I love Jay.
The group-hug. You have bros, Trevor.
Also I need a follow-up with Pinkus.

CBS Ghosts - Pilot - Sam & Jay Fight
Warning Possible Spoilers.
LMAO - Jay just wants to have a shower - I feel that. I'd be upset if I couldn't since it wakes me up.
Side note - I’m amused that Sam is writing her article (I assume) on the ladder.
Two things are interesting here - they originally decided to go to the Woodstone for the weekend, so we’ve lost a whole day unless they only came up Saturday to Sunday.
Also, interesting - Sam has clearly already decided on living at the mansion (probably before they ever got there) while Jay is far more practical about moving into a rundown old house.
I definitely wonder if her quick acceptance had to deal with being miserable in the city? (I assume she was by later comments, like ‘we barely saw each other”, “we worked so much - never home”, Ect.)
She also blends into the country life way easier than Jay does into the mansion and I don’t believe that it’s solely due to the ghosts - she never mentions the city life, friends or missing anything about it in the way that Jay clearly does. She never mentions wanting to visit the city or complaining that seeing ghosts doesn't allow her to do it as easily anymore.
Okay - so, this is funny. Jay’s like “I’m going to say it - mumbles”.
Jay, that is just not how this works! Also, did Sam not expect to have this conversation? She sounds surprised even though that is literally what they agreed to do. It was MEANT to be a visit to evaluate and discuss, but she acts like they already did.
Okay - multiple things here - AGAIN it’s the 4 OLDEST ghosts that have chosen to watch Sam & Jay. Now, is it because they’re worried about losing their free rein of the house? (They were the most concerned about new comers). Is it because they’re very bored? But then, wouldn’t the others be bored, too? Is there another reason?
We know that Trevor & Pete are having a war with the Vase, but what about Flower & Alberta? Why aren’t they invested in their possible new livings?
Also, they’re all excited that Jay’s saying “Damn it, I don’t want to uproot our entire lives” - is this exciting because ‘nothing better than a husband/wife fight’ or is it because they’re like - maybe our lives won't change after all?
Lastly, THE LOOKS ON THEIR FACES when Thor compares it to ‘Finding a new type of cod’ - OMG. It’s freaking hilarious. I love it. We should get to see flashbacks of their lives without Sam and Jay.
Okay. Sam, I need you to listen to me - this isn’t about ‘Change’ - it’s beyond crazy to uproot your lives on a dime and take out all of the money to RISK losing everything. Yes, change is scary, but you didn’t answer the question - and you definitely decided that you wanted to move before you ever saw the house.
I wish they had let Jay truly explain what the issue is - it’s more than being afraid to change - this isn’t just changing jobs, moving someplace or having a baby, this is quitting your jobs and suddenly deciding to open a business on a dime. It’s kind of insane.
Plus, you're leaving everything you've ever known behind and all of your friends behind to be completely alone out in the country.
I wonder if the friends they had were only Jay's friends and that's why she's so game to just ... leave them behind.
LOL, Isaac. He’s just like so smitten - Jay was not even trying to be funny. I do love that Sass is giving Isaac a look like ‘who you kidding’, Thor doesn’t care, and Hetty’s smiling - given the story in Whodunnit, do we think Hetty realizes what’s going on with Isaac?
She could technically believe he’s into both (or be hopeful) given what happens in Thorapy. It is believable since she knows that he was once married.
This is the EXACT moment Hetty decides that she likes Sam despite her ‘hideous pants and saucy hairdo’. She’s like “Woodstone - connection - Family, love it.”
It does explain her reaction later on (at the end of the episode) when she originally opted haunt them out of the house and get rid of her.
However, it doesn't explain her reaction in the episode and wanting her to leave again.
LMAO - Sass is like “Our home sucks” and Hetty’s like “Damn it - give the house more respect”. It’s a funny exchange.
ANYWHO - Jay is absolutely right. They were barely surviving in NYC and NOW you want to dump money you don’t have in house out in the middle of nowhere? Nah. That’s nutty.
Side note - Sam & Jay want to start a family and in TB, he calls the ghosts their 8 idiot kids and I have to wonder WHEN exactly they decided on that and how that factors into having their own family. I do wonder if it is part of the reason that Sam and Jay do quickly adapt to having the ghosts and wanting to do the B&B and all. If that makes sense?
THIS IS AN EXCELLENT POINT JAY! When you become a couple you should make decisions JOINTLY! This is WAY too crazy an idea to give into on a whim - you could at least take more time to decide!
Maybe talk it over with Jay's parents or your friends. Don't just DO IT.
WHAT EVEN IS THIS???? Like Sam - this makes no sense. Jay’s right, she’s learned nothing. OTOH this is apparently what she does - storm out. Which is interesting. Also interesting, having this discussion naked in a bathrobe.
Awww, Hetty’s watching her storm out - probably surprised, she never would have considered doing that with Elias because she didn’t have the power Sam has in the 21st century in the 19th century, but also, she just seemed to warm up to Sam (because she wants to raise a family in the family home), so she’s like ‘now I'm going to lose her’.
LMAO - what an ending to the scene. Thor’s probably thinking ‘damnit no sex show’ and laughing because Jay won’t be getting sex, while hurting Isaac who’s like ‘Damn it man’. Sass just rolling his eyes. ‘Ya’ll are idiots’.
Anyway, that’s it for this scene - I agree with Jay (he’s being the logical/rational side - which he ruins at the end of the episode) while Sam’s being the emotional/irrational side, which ironically changes at the end of the episode.
Obviously there would be NO show without Jay caving, but he isn’t wrong for his perspective on things. I do wonder just how miserable Sam was in NYC to make this drastic of a change in the blink of an eye.
Thanks for reading :)
