Headcanon that Ramone agonized over Lightning’s paint job for the World Grand Prix for a week and made several drafts that he scrapped. A few days before Lightning had to leave, he got the paint job done but didn’t like it. It went down like

Lightning: You’ve done it again, Ramone. This looks great!

Ramone: No, I’ll see you again tomorrow.

Lightning: It looks fine to me—

Ramone: I said I’ll see you tomorrow 😡

Lightning: 😟 Okay

Then Ramone spent that entire day on a new design and came up with the one we see in the movie
