Prince Iwa-Chan
Oikawa!Sister x Iwaizumi Hajime
Tumblr media
a/n: it aggravates me that my mans bara-arms-iwa-chan is so UNDERRATED!!!!
Tumblr media
requests open!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like look mom, im in love
ofc youre an oikawa
tbh, i dont think iwa wouldve been comfortable w you when yall first met
lets say youre a year younger than tooru
its a well-known fact that theyve been friends since they were really young so you, being oiks’ baby sister, was also part of your little trio
like lets say they met when they were 6
that would make you about 5
since yall have an older sister, you were exposed to the girly girl stuff like dolls and princesses
ngl, tooru was too thats why hes so flamboyant
but seems his fashion style refutes that
ya didnt hear that from me
anyways
tooru had already developed a deep fascination w volleyball bc he saw it being played during the 2000 summer olympics
but you remained w your sister and continued letting her treat you like a princess
im not really sure how old his sister is but lets say she was about around middle school when you were 5-6
however, tooru still made you play w him even though you didnt know how but you didnt care bc you were close w your brother so you would play ball w him
then came along iwaizumi hajime that tooru met from school
he found out that this boy also liked volleyball and tooru yeeted them both home so they could go and play at the back yard
you peeked from your window and you just thought iwa was the most handsome boy youve ever met
ofc, you just bolted down the stairs to where your brother and his friend was
oiks saw you standing by the door w a red face and him, being still a child and not understanding crushes, thought you were sick
he went to you and beckoned hajime to follow him inside
tooru sat you down and asked if you were okay but you just kept staring at hajime
he figured that you were just confused as to who this person was
‘oh! iwa-chan! this is my little sister, y/n! y/n, this is my classmate, iwaizumi hajime!’
cue iwa hitting him at the head
‘i can introduce myself perfectly fine, bakakawa!’
iwaizumi hajime,,,
iwaizumi hajimeee,
iwaizumi y/n
that thought made you turn even redder and you squealed in embarrassment before running back to your room
lmao what
if your personality doesnt align w this, i deeply apologize
i just think if you were an oikawa, you would bound to immediately also be drawn to this handsome specimen named iwaizumi hajime
he be getting the oikawas though
iwa was actually concerned but oiks waved it off
‘don’t worry, iwa-chan. shes weird like that. lets go toss the ball!’
so that was kinda how he met you
now, since hajime basically lived in your house by how much him and your brother hung out, youve slowly mellowed out and gotten to be friends w him
despite your hatred w bugs, you still went w them to explore just bc you wanted to be around hajime
lmao tooru youre now irrelevant
hajime didnt mind and he always made sure you were okay with the adventures of the day
even though you were only like a year younger, he cant help but baby you bc of your much smaller height than him and overall cute baby face
one day, they both came home from school all sweaty bc they raced home
‘iwa-chan! you can settle in the living room while i go shower!’
‘don’t call me iwa-chan, bakakawa!’
‘then stop calling me that!’
he sat down on the couch and started doing his homework when he heard you come home from school
lmao how do little japanese kids go back and forth from school to home at the age of 6
idek how to cross the street
‘tadaima’
‘oh, okaeri, y/n’
you perked up at his voice and you ran to the living room, seeing him
‘iwa-chan!’
he grunted and you threw yourself to him in a hug
if your personality doesnt align w this, i deeply apologize
i just think if you were an oikawa, you would bound to immediately also be drawn to this handsome specimen named iwaizumi hajime
part 2
tbh it doesnt even faze him anymore since you do this to him every time
he continues doing homework and just wraps one arm around you and starts patting your head
‘tooru-nii?’
‘shower’
‘okay’
then silence
but its the good kind of silence
you and iwa just sit there with you snuggled up on him while he continues to add numbers
then it was ruined
by the pterodactyl oikawa tooru who comes flying down the stairs and glomps on to iwa’s other side
‘y/n-chan! stop hogging iwa-chan!’
‘he’s mine, tooru-nii!!’
you pout while iwa turns and gives him a glare
‘shut up, bakakawa! and stop calling me that!’
‘aahh!! you were mine first, iwa-chan!’
‘i was never yours! be quiet!’
‘itai, iwa-chan!’
‘he’s mine forever! we’re going to get married so butt out, nii-chan!’
‘HAH?!’
once everything calms down, yall actually start your homework and work
‘anything happen today, y/n-chan?’
oikawa always asked that question bc he believes its his duty as older brother to be caught up in your life
thats actually annoying bruv
‘hmm, me and the girls in my class were playing princess tea party today and a boy asked to be my prince.’
‘WHAT!’
oikawa is 7 now and he faintly has an idea about crushes and his father made him promise that he would protect you from nasty boys
‘calm down, bakakawa’
iwa mumbled, continuing his homework but also paying attention
‘WHAT!? NO! WHATD YOU SAY, Y/N-CHAN! YOUR BROTHER IS THE ONLY PRINCE YOU NEED!’
‘i told him i already have a prince’
oikawa was so smug and crossed his arms
‘hm, serves them right-’
‘prince iwa-chan and i are going to get married and live in a castle so there’s no room for anybody else’
iwa had to double check and turned red really fast
like who was this iwa-chan
wait, what his name?
his name has iwa in it
is he iwa-chan?
y/n’s prince iwa-chan?
was he really iwa-chan?
‘NO! YOUR NII-SAN IS YOUR PRINCE! IWA-CHAN CAN BE YOUR KNIGHT OR SOMETHING! BUT IM YOUR PRINCE!’
you glared at tooru and shook your head
‘no. iwa-chan is my prince’
you were so shamless about this fact
lmao i want your confidence
from then on, youve called iwa as your prince
like his name on your phone is literally prince iwa-chan
then when you were in middle school, you’ve started calling iwa as haji-senpai
there wasnt even a large event that spawned this
well,,, actually,,
youve noticed that iwa hated the nickname ‘iwa-chan’ a lot and he hit tooru many times bc of it so you stopped calling him that bc you didnt want him to be mad at you
so you started calling him senpai bc he was technically an upperclassman
when you first called him this, iwa was lowkey shook
‘haji,,,, senpai?’
you nodded from your spot on the couch, not looking up from your homework
‘see? i can only call iwa-chan, iwa-chan! OOF!’
that was iwa hitting tooru at the face with his pencil case
‘y/n, you dont have to call me that. we’ve known each other since we were little so you dont have to call me by an upperclassman term’
you shrugged
‘i know. but you dont like it when you’re called iwa-chan, do you?’
‘not if it’s by this trash’
he jutted a thumb to the fallen tooru
‘so,,,, iwa-chan is fine?’
your eyes sparkled at the permission of being able to freely call him that without worry
he gulps at your face and turns away to hide his red face before nodding
‘my prince iwa-chan!’
‘no! my iwa-chan!’
‘shut up shittykawa!’
‘itai, iwa-chan!’
keeping up with the oikawas
this nickname will forever be stuck
since you went to the same middle school, you were known to be around your brother and iwa and even staying behind for practice to walk home w them
it became a bit of a joke to the team of you picking up your prince
one day, a teammate called iwa, ‘prince iwa-chan’ and he almost busted a fuse
was ready to square up bc only his babie can call him that
but when you came through the door
‘prince iwa-chan! your princess is here!’
he turned all soft and squishy and pats your head so gently that they couldnt believe this is the same boy who is the ace
you were interested in volleyball so you were kinda friends w the team but you didnt really care for the sport, mainly focusing on your academics
thats how it really was for you three
they focused on sports while you studied
oh my here comes highschool
oikawa and iwa were already known throughout the FREAKING PREFECTURE bc of how TALENTED THEY ARE AT VOLLEYBALL
and you were already known by your pretty face and your cute personality
basically genderbent oikawa
and just wanted to stop you from reading by telling you that you are beautiful and you are a KWEEN and you are a GODDESS and confidence is the most beautiful thing to wear and best of all, it’s free!!
ofc, youd have to go to aoba johsai bc your brother was there
‘y/n-chan! you need to go where your brother is! you love him, don’t you?’
‘sure, tooru’
you actually went to seijoh bc you would see iwa
you didnt hear that from me
your first day, boys (and gals) were already flocking towards you when they saw you walking with iwa and tooru
still being the overprotective brother since day1, oikawa was just snarling at anyone getting close to his baby sister
lmao what baby
hes only like a year older
but iwa was being terrirorial protective bc he finds it as an obligation as tooru’s best friend and your childhood friend
when oiks wasn’t paying attention and being drowned by his fangirls, iwa was your bodyguard
there was this one boy who started walking towards you as yall were going to your class but hajime placed an arm around your waist and pulled you closer
‘oh? i’m only at the first floor, iwa-chan. don’t get all clingy now’
lmao, girl hes trying to show that boy that hes your unofficial mans and will cut off his family jewels if he tries to even BREATHE in your direction
umm,,, iwa’s not yandere in this one yall
iwa just rolls his eyes and makes you walk forward until yall are at your door
‘i’ll see you later, iwa-chan!’
‘yea yea. i’ll pick you up’
he starts to walk down the hallway but you poke your head back out and shout
‘i miss you already, prince iwa-chan!’
he turns red all over and freezes for a 0.0002 seconds before raising a hand without turning around
now ladies and genitals
this is when iwa-chan starts to catch feelings like he catches them spikes
your cute smling face and saying his dumb nickname that he actually loves was like a recipe for a stroke for him
it has come to the point at the mere thought of you would make him all flustered and red
it tripled over when this happened:
puberty was kinda late for you and you actually just woke up looking like a goddess one day and you were like, lmao what
your chest just ballooned up and your height just skyrocketed that your skirt was now very short
ew i dont know what i would do in this situation
you were self-conscious about this and was kinda scared
obvs, you would scream for your mother and she and your father and brother bolts up to your bedroom thinking there was a whole michael meyers in your room
but when you explained that your uniform doesnt fit anymore, she starts making appointments to get you fitted for another one
but you had to wait for a few days
so you went to school looking like a whole snacc
more of a snacc than you did before
when iwa saw you, he had a literal nosebleed in the middle of campus and runs to the bathroom to get all cleaned up
why in the name of asahi do you look like that?!
when you saw your prince look at you in horror and run away, you cried
you were already very self-conscious and him doing that just topped the cake
cake that tooru doesnt have
oop imsorry
tooru reassures you that he had a nosebleed and he was just sick and ran to not get any blood on his clothes
but you just walked away with your head down low
it didnt matter to you if this caught all the student body’s attention
that their precious oikawa y/n, little sister of the oikawa tooru, was a walking perfection goddess Venus
all that you cared about was iwa’s opinions bc he was your prince and your best friend
girl, accept that you actually like the mans
this was the worst day of your entire life and you went straight to your locker to get your gym clothes out and wear it for the day
it was tight but at least it covered skin
and it still attracted enough attention to be catcalled and whistled at
it felt violating
the entire morning, there was more attention and more people flocked over to you and guys were staring at you as if you were a piece of meat, not a girl
‘harry potter is a boy! not a piece of meat!’
sorry i cant help it
you were so uncomfortable that you called your brother during lunch time to come pick you up for lunch bc you were too scared to walk alone after being catcalled during your walk to your class
tooru sends out iwa to go help you as an apology from this morning and he just runs to your class bc you were in trouble and he was going to protect you!!
go iwa-chan!
he finds you sitting on your chair, looking down at your desk as there seemed to be boys piled up on top of each other, trying to get your attention
first world problems, amirite
‘OI!’
that angry grunt but at 2x bass boosted
hearing his voice, you were still embarrassed from earlier but you were so relieved
‘iwa-chan!’
iwa pushes people away and he grabs your hand to pull you up before wrapping an arm around your waist, protectively
‘if i see you idiots making her uncomfortable or even trying to touch her, i will destroy you’
protection and the feeling of safety is my fave
he leads you out of there to the stairway where him and his teammates were eating
he held your hand tightly and you squeezed it, trying to show that you were grateful
even if they were still male, your brother was there and if something happened, they were both strong enough to take them on
besides, its just mattsun and maki anyways
tooru saw you and he hugged you before leading you to the 2 others
‘guys, this is y/n, my sister. that’s mattsun and that’s makki.’
you slightly smiled and raised a hand in greeting
‘yo’
‘hello’
to be safe, iwa made you sit a step down from him so that if something happens, he could protect you
idk how but you do you boo
‘i can protect her too, iwa-chan!’
‘shut up, shittykawa. youre literally sticks and bones’
‘so mean! iwa-chan, you’re so mean!’
you giggled, head leaning down to rest on iwa’s right thigh since you were full and tired and he runs his hand through your hair
mattsun and makki shared a look before asking
‘are you dating our ace, y/n-chan?’
at the mention of dating, you both turned red and you sat up
‘OF COURSE NOT, MATTSUN, MAKKI!’
iwa shouts but his red face and ears betrayed him
‘iwa-chan grew up with us so he’s naturally like that. we’ve adopted him into our family!’
oikawa explained but you looked at him and he gave you a knowing look
oh he noticed everything
the lingering looks during practice
the bashful smiles during hang outs at home
unnecessary touches during the walk to school
oikawa may be annoying but he’s observant and he is smart
after that fiasco, the two boys were a little wary of letting you walk home alone so iwa offered to take you since he was already making more progress and didnt need extra practice while tooru wanted to practice more
‘iwa-chan, can we go to your house this time?’
he turned to look at you curiously since you never ask to go to his place
‘i miss your mom and ive been meaning to go visit her. so can we, iwa-chan?’
you squeezed his hand and showcased your pleading look making him agree
‘fine’
his house wasn’t a frequently hung out spot since your house was closer but you were still familiar with his home since his mother was fond of you
‘tadaima’
mama iwaizumi peaked from the kitchen and greeted him home before squealing at the sight of the youngest oikawa
‘oh my, y/n-chan! hello!’
‘hello, auntie!’
she gave you a big hug and you returned it with a laugh
iwa just standing there to the side with a smile bc his mom approves so all is good in life
‘you’ve grown so much, y/n-chan! so much prettier too!’ you turned bashful at her compliments.
then she leaned forward to whisper in your ear but made her voice loud
‘say, has my son finally ask you to be his girlfriend?’
omg mama iwaizumi really ships it
iwa turns red and complains to his mom about being in his business too much
‘don’t be so timid, hajime! y/n-chan could be taken from under your nose any minute now!’
‘dont you think i know that’ he mumbles but very lowly so that no one hears him
but you decide to tease him more
‘no. but i’m waiting for it. i’ll tell you once he does, auntie!’
fed up with the teasing, he grabs you and drags you up to his room to change into comfortable clothing
you sit on his bed while he rummages through his closet for a sweatshirt and sweatpants
‘here! change into these!’ he shouts, still flustered and refusing to look at your eyes
youre an oikawa and you lived to tease so you stood up, tossing the clothes to the side and wrapping your arms around his neck
ooo gurl you want iwa to die today, don’t you?
he gets even redder and scowls
‘oi, y/n, what are you doing’
you shook your head
‘nothing. i just miss my prince iwa-chan. you were so brave for saving me today, prince iwa-chan’
the nickname used to not affect him that much but now, he watches the it fall from your cherry lips
‘say my name’
you furrowed your eyebrows
‘iwa-chan?’
he gently shakes his head no
‘my real name’
‘iwaizumi hajime’
you say, distracted at the way his mouth moves
‘and what’s yours?’
‘iwaizumi y/n’
you breathed out
he growls softly before taking your sinful lips
wowza jesus took the wheel bc he stepped on that pedal
we going straight 100 mph up in this bih
iwa really said, ‘skip the confession. imma go straight for my babie girl’s lips. also, proposal who? let’s go get married in vegas!’
it wasnt even been literally 15 minutes until you came bounding the stairs wearing hajime’s signature grey hoodie with his seijoh sweatpants and calling for your auntie to announce you were now dating are going to get married
‘WHAT!?’
she screams and comes running from the kitchen, holding a ladle
you flashed a grin while iwa shows a small smile with red cheeks from behind you before telling you that you were both too young to get married
‘i told ya you would be the first to know’
after dinner, you call your brother and hes like, ‘okay, since you’re not at home i’m assuming youre at iwa’s’
‘omgomgomg, nii-chan! i just had dinner with my boyfriend’s family! they accepted me!’
‘BOYFRIEND?! DOES IWA-CHAN KNOW!? HOW COULD YOU BREAK HIS HEART?!’
oikawa just has that special type of voice that even without being on speaker phone, it sounds like he is
iwa laughs at his friend’s worried questions
‘better hand over your princess to the prince, grand king’
oikawa screamed
Tumblr media
i hope i did my mans justice

Home/Family Update - May 2021
I will take this right back to when I was discharged from the Priory in December. From there I moved back home with my parents; it was a bit of a difficult transition as I didn't have any home leave in the lead up to being discharged due to COVID and my consultant wanting me to make the most of my time on the ward. Add to that my EDP going completely awol, meaning that our whole 4 week pre-discharge meetings and relapse prevention plan went out the window. So yes it was a bit of a rocky start, and that is without you factoring in COVID lockdown/Christmas.
Being discharged from an IP setting is never easy no matter who you are; changes in environment and routine can throw you off track without you even realising it and I did find myself struggling with this. I also had the difficult navigation of adapting to coming home in terms of my dad and his recovery. For those who might not know, last March my dad fell down the stairs in the middle of the night the day that my parents arrived home after a month in NZ. He suffered 3 brain bleeds (a subdural, an extradural and a subarachnoid), multiple facial fractures and a break in his spine. That night was one of, if not THE, worst of my life. We were told that it was very likely that he would not survive and that if he did he would be in a vegetated state or not able to take care of himself...we were told to prepare for the worst. By some MIRACLE he defied all the odds and at the age of 74 after spending 11 or so days on the ICU, a further 2 weeks on a trauma ward and then another 3 months in a neuro rehab, he was discharged home and is now, a year on from the accident, completely independent, no sign of further brain bleeds and is actually much fitter than he has been for, well, 50 years! Honestly, we never expected anything like this sort of recovery and from an outside perspective he is doing perfectly. However, there are things that will never be the same again and I don't think it is until you are with someone 24/7 that you are able to tell. He has changed quite a bit as a person; in some ways this is a good thing but in other ways it is not so. He cannot deal with changes in environment or routine; even things like having the bread on the side instead of in the bread bin completely throws him off and he doesn't even register that the bread is there. He gets very easily agitated, can be extremely rude and a little aggressive. Now some of this was already there (a lot of it was) but it has become more acutely obvious since the head injury. I have SO much respect and love for my mum - I really dont know how she has held herself up over the past 2 years, as well as helping dad when he was initially transitioning home (I was still in hospital but it sounded like he needed a lot of help for the first few months - which I only saw an inch of when they were able to visit me in hospital (he used to wander off and didn't know where he was etc. which is thankfully no longer and issue!)).
This is hard for me to say but I will admit that I have struggled more than I thought I would with being around him; in short I pretty much went through the whole mourning process whilst I was in hospital as the last time i saw him on the trauma ward before they stopped all visits and before I was admitted, he didn't know who I was...He thought he lived in another country and was telling me all sorts of stories that were fabricated, before telling me that he needed to go and pick up the mercedes and drive to sainsburys to get the Gin and petrol (we don't have a mercedes and he doesn't even like gin!) Anyway, I digress. So yes, I basically mourned for someone who was still alive physically but mentally had changed as at the time I didn't know whether he would be in a vegetated state or make a good recovery. Thankfully we are on the good side and he is doing so incredibly well but the bottom line is that he is different and living with him, at the age of 26, is HARD. We have good days and bad days (as any young adult who lives with their parents does) and there are many many days that I wish I wasn't living at home but I do my best to hold myself together during those times, especially for my mum because she, I tell you, is absolutely incredible. How she has put up with him for so long I honestly do not know!
Talking of mum, I would say that since the whole accident with dad, we have become a LOT closer. We really had to lean on each other over that month; we were driving down to Brighton every single day to see dad on the ICU and on the Trauma ward until we were stopped from visiting - it was mentally and physically exhausting for the both of us, especially as we were still barely processing the trauma and struggling with flashbacks in the night. We were the first ones on the scene of the accident (if it weren't for mum's medical training, dad would not be alive today). Of course we still have our moments but I feel like our relationship almost "levelled up and matured over the past year. We have bonded over being in nature and walking (because what else can you do when the country is in lockdown!?! but also because we have always been an "outdoors" family (well my mum, Andi and me have))- we also talk about dad and the accident quite a bit too, which has helped me beyond belief (and her too). We give each other space, and yes there are days when we dont get on but who doesn't have days when they dont?
On balance I would say that home is "okay". It is manageable. No the environment is not perfect and I do find it affects my mental health quite a bit and holds me back in some ways (I cannot wait to be able to move out one day) but I am incredibly grateful to have parents that are willing to and can afford to take me under their roof and help me out during this time.
Gosh, this has already ended up so much longer than I thought it would, I am sorry! In short: home life is okay. We are here and that is the most important thing. We saw Andi a two-ish weeks ago as we were in Cornwall for our usual time-share (we were so lucky that Boris allowed self catering two weeks before our usual time share week) - I think it was good for them to get out of their flat as I don't think they had left the small area where they live since last September when we went down to Cornwall (I was given leave for a week as it was sold to my consultant to help my dad's recovery, which is definitely did but yes we did pull the right strings to get that one!)
Anyway, I shall leave this update here and start the mammoth task of the next one. I am sorry that this is taking me so long, it's quite hard to write and think back and reflect (although actually quite helpful for me to do) so I do find that I have to come back to it a few times. Please stick with me x
-----
I forgot to add that dad had an assessment before we went away to Cornwall to see whether he can have his driving license back and (as mum and I predicted) he failed. To say that he did not take it well would be putting it lightly!!! I am actually ashamed of the way that he behaved and the things that he said/the reasons he fabricated as to why he had failed (let's just say he got sexist and rude - which I have ZERO time for and was appalled by him - I am so glad I was not with him/mum after the assessment as I would have blown my fuse at hime). He could not even entertain the idea that he had failed. He blamed everything/anything else that he could - even saying that it was the system and one of the first things he said to me was "I understand now, I've worked it out, it's the system, they aren't allowed to pass many people first time so that's it", which I just *speechless*. Mum and I have talked about it a lot and we don't think that he has ever "failed" at anything in his life. He also believes that he is 10000%. fixed and has no issues or problems and doesn't need any support or guidance. He refuses to listen to mum and I when we try to tell him about how unwell he was, he refuses to believe it and won't take it. One thing that mum and I are very glad of is that all of this driving stuff is OUTSIDE of the family. He can't put it on us. It is coming from an external place and we can support him if he lets us but that is his decision as to whether he lets us or not. He has never been a good patient; and he also won't take any advice (in anything) from mum or let her be right about something either, which is just sad, really sad. This is not a new thing, it has always been this way. And the more I reflect on our family/have reflected over the past year with dad in hospital, the more I see that I don't like. The way dad has behaved and treated mum, how he was always missing in my childhood, how alcohol always came above family, how old fashioned and unwilling to learn he is, how distant and uninterested he was, how he never says please or thank you, never asks how anyone is and refuses to talk about mental health (yep, despite so much going on in our family with mental illnesses, he refuses to talk about it and won't even ask "how are you?" or offer support etc)...I don't mean to be so negative about him, I really don't. I love him, he is my dad, but there is a lot of healing that needs to be done, and it is going to take time.

Under the Moonlight and Fireworks // Tamaki Amajiki
Tumblr media

I’m so glad to be a part of this lovely collab and hopefully you guys will see me in many more! I hope I did my baby Tamaki well in this, I just love him so much~ I hope you enjoy reading this and much as I did writing it ~ bunny ❥
Warnings : none! (Maybe a lil angst if you squint really hard) I tried my best to make a tooth rotting cotton candy fluffy fluff story for Tama!
Word count : 5k give or take!
Paring(s) : Tamaki Amajiki x F! Reader
Mirio and Nejire are dating in this world too ♡
———————————————————————
Summer, the warmest time of the year, from spring flings to summer love, studying to vacations, the time of the year students look forward to, being able to make some of your fondest memories. Even in its short duration, Summer is arguably one of the people’s favorite times of the year.
For Tamaki however, he dreads this summer more than the ones he had before.
You see, He doesn’t hate the heat, or the social interactions (shudder), or getting ready for his exams, his work studies that go through the summer break, or having to get stronger, as he is one of UA’s big three. Oh no, no of these bother him at all. Not even talking about the work studies to 1-A (which is terrifying in itself) can compare to this. This summer has him dreadful for one very big problem, a big issue, specifically one person he can confirm his dread comes from.
[First Name] [Last Name].
One of his childhood friends (alongside Mirio), one of the first people to talk to him, to get to know him, someone who knows him sometimes more than he knows himself. Yes, [First name] [Last Name], the person who makes his heart beat a million miles per second when he hears her laugh or see her blinding smile. The girl with a golden heart...
Is causing him so much dread.
————————————————
It started with a smile, a gentle sign of acknowledgment, warmth, and care without saying a single thing
—————————————————
“Hi, I’m [Name]! What’s your name!? Have you gotten your quirk!? I have mine it’s-“ The small girl rambled on and on, and all Tamaki could do was blink. Between meeting Mirio and this mystery girl [Name], he didn’t know how much more interaction he could take. He looked at the strange duo in front of him, Both coming to talk and befriend the timid boy. With a smile and a grab of a hand by the girl, Tamaki, Mirio and her ran around the playground, they talked and played the rest of his first day, starting the beginning of their friendship.
“Hey, I know! How about we become a group! We can become heroes together and take out the villains!” Mirio said one day during lunch, the small children eating from their bento boxes. “Hey, we should! Then when we get older we can be like All Might!” [Name] said happily, jumping up and down with Mirio while Tamaki watched them, slowly picking in his bento for the octopus-shaped sausages.
“ Whatcha got Tama?” The girl asked, causing young Tamaki to turn crimson “N-nothing something my m-momma made me...” He answered timidly, trying to close the lid before she could see the cut-out creatures in his lunch. To his dismay, she did. “Hey don’t be shy! I like octopuses, your mom really must love you to do something like that!” [Name] said, smiling at her stuttering friend.
“ Hey, do you like octopuses Tama?” She said, widened and bright eyes looking into his slanted darker ones. With a sigh he looked up to her, seeing how close she was, young Tama couldn’t help but to fall backward, shocked at the close proximity of his counterpart. “ Wahhh are you okay Tama??” “Hey, Amajiki are you alright?!” The two asked, looking over the small hill he had rolled down. Without hesitation, they came to his aid, Mirio reaching out to help him up
Whilst [Name], helped brush grass from him. “Butterflies..” He let off, the pair confusingly looked at him. “My favorite animal has to be butterflies..” He said, looking up at [Name] with a small smile that she too, had forming onto her face...
————————————————
Then there was the exchange of gifts, unspoken words, and heavy hearts
————————————————
“Hey, Tama! Mirio!” [Name] yelled down the hall towards her two best friends, seeing them head to the gym for the ending ceremony of the fifth grade. “[NickName]” Mirio yelled back, running towards her as she met him halfway, the two turning to their shy friend. “We were headed to the gym, let's go before they start!” Mirio said energetically, running off to the double doors. “Hey wait up! Come on Tama!” She said, grabbing him by the hand and catching up to their hyper partner.
The ceremony went smoothly, Tamaki and her holding hands until the very end.
“[N-Name]...” Tamaki said softly, grabbing the girls’ hand a bit tighter as they started home, book bags filled with the last day's stuff they either left in their lockers or got from teachers. “Tama?” She questioned, turning to face him. With skin as hot as coal and a shaky breath , Tamaki reached in his bag and gave her a white bunny, a blue dress on it with a vibrant blue butterfly clip on the ear. “T-this is...this is f-for you...” he said so quietly he was shocked when he heard a response “oh Tama..she’s beautiful” With gentle hands she took the bunny from him, playing with the hem of the blue dress. With a gasp and a smile she dug in her bag, giving him a squishy and soft red octopus, an identical blue butterfly pinned to a tentacle. “I guess we had the same idea huh?” She said with darkened cheeks, looking away as he took the octopus from her.
“Y-you..wanted to get me something too..?” He said in disbelief, looking at her with doe like eyes. “Of course! I gave Mirio a Ox because he’s just , well, big and cuddly like one!” She said, giving Tama what he called “the sun in a smile” face, a soft giggle falling from her lips. The two of them stood there for what felt like eternity, then finally, finally [Name] moved, giving tamaki a hug. A stuttering and blushing mess , he froze, not knowing how to handle the display of affection when he heard what she whispered to him “I’ll always be connected to you now Tama “ she said and with a kiss to his ear she ran off before he could say anything, his heart aflame as he watched his best friend dart around the corner.
“Hey Tamaki!” Mirio said, seeing his friend frozen on the concrete. With a snap back to reality, tamaki looked at Mirio, his heart feeling heavenly and heavy all in the same breath. “Y-yeah?” He said looking back at the blonde boy. ‘So bright’ he thought to himself and they walked home.”I heard [Name] was going back to the states” Mirio started, judging by his friends' shocked and sad face , he knew she didn’t tell him. “She didn’t say that when she left huh? Well don’t worry tamaki! We’ll see her again. I just know it! “ Mirio said joyfully with a thumbs up, seeing his sad and shy friend get worse. ‘Maybe that’s what she means by we’ll always be connected..’ Tamaki thought to himself, the octopus she gave him wrapped safely in his arms....
————————————————
Left with a broken promise, fragile in time , stuck in the suspense of hope in the future
————————————————
It didn’t matter as the school year started for middle school, nothing felt the same. Mirio was here but she wasn’t..
He felt like he was missing something, somewhere something was missing.
Her.
He couldn’t stop thinking of the girl who constantly pushed him out of his normal, to push him into bigger and better things, no matter his rebuttal. He missed laughing, eating bento in the grass. No looking out for butterflies together, no long walks home. No warmth.
He had Mirio and he was enough for the two of them
He never noticed it until now..and he wishes he did sooner.
He needed her too, more than he knew , a bigger piece into his life was missing that was more than he thought.
————————————————————
Then the fireworks came, setting off a fuse to a blaze that couldn’t be bothered to try and be contained
————————————————————
Tamaki didn’t like festivals, too many people and things everywhere. But he promised Mirio he’d go, with their new friend, Nejire Hado. He saw her the beginning of their first year, and she was just like her in a very odd and....aloof way. She had the same spark he could say, louder and more outgoing, but she felt right in their friendship. ‘I wanna go home’ tamaki thought to himself, looking for the tuft of blonde hair or periwinkle wandering about. He was hot, tired, and drained. He wanted to see the fireworks, he really did, he just..couldn’t. With a sigh, he grabbed his phone from his yukata when-
A laugh
A pair of laughs
The sound of angels to his ears
In turning around he saw Nejire, bubbly and happy as can be rambling to a girl, who had on one of the most unique yukatas he saw all night. Dragons and waves, tigers and flames, wolves and mountain tops. Dark with golden trim, Artistry and design at it’s finest. From her in geta to the black, red and gold yukata, to the beautiful pieces placed in her hair. Soft makeup that he’d never seen before.
Unique, like her.
He knew what he saw but he didn’t want to believe it
She couldn’t be back
Could she?
And with Nejire?
Then it happens, the fireworks began to blast, colors in the sky as people stop to watch and it’s almost silent, almost, except for the pounding in Tamaki’s heart as he watches his best friend, no , love of his life , smile up to the sky , that same glow as the day he met her.
And that’s when he realizes ‘I’m in love with her’
——————————————————
And everything froze for that moment
——————————————————
He saw her.
Her eyes suddenly went from the sky to his , and they widened , full of questions, happiness and warmth , and also...fear? Sadness? A hint of nervousness? He couldn’t pinpoint it but once their eyes saw each other, nothing mattered, no one mattered, except them in that moment. She looked different...her body was shapely and taller than she was in the fifth grade of course. She was stunning, no , she was beautiful, a goddess amongst the morals as he saw it. He couldn’t help but want to hide , feeling like he couldn’t look , fearing to get burned.....
But he wanted to touch the sun, to have it to himself regardless of the pain, regardless of burn.
He wanted the warmth of her to scorch him, to free him
—————
She saw him.
The way he looked at her made her heart flip, Nejire’s words far gone as she saw her best friend in the distance. Way taller than she last saw him, a stronger physical shape and still his boyish charm had morphed into his handsome qualities. Eyes unsure of where to look, him slowly clamming up at the sight of her. She knew better than to get offended, if anything she was flattered, her childhood friend must feel something like she did. But within that she still saw the same shy third grade Tamaki Amajki in front of her, scared to speak his mind, making her heart smile at the thought. ‘He hasn’t changed a bit’ she said to herself as she smiled sweetly at him, throwing a gentle wave to him as her hyper female friend Nejire pulled her to a stand , then disappearing into the sea of people.....
But the only sea she wanted to drown in was the darkness of his eyes wrapped in the cool of his arms.
She wanted the sea of him to take her into his heart
—————
“Tamaki?” Mirio said, touching his friends shoulders as he watched him jump at the feeling, wide eyes and stuttering out incomplete sentences, he shook him and with the loudest and most confident voice Mirio’s ever seen or hear his best friend say “She’s here, she back Mirio, my bunny’s back”
—————————————————
Which brings us to the current time of why Tamaki hates the summer. His long standing, hidden feeling crush is back in town, and going to one of the biggest hero course based schools in Japan ,UA Academy, with no other than the shy boy himself
—————————————————
“Why didn’t you tell me she was back, Mirio?” Tamaki said , a large sigh tumbling from his lips As he watched the two girls walk arm and arm together to class , Mirio and himself headed to their own designated room. “I didn’t know myself Tamaki, honest! Nejire just said she was showing a new student around , how was I supposed to know it was [Name]! I’m glad she's back though, I missed her but obviously not as much as you do ~” Mirio stated, elbowing his red friend as they sat down for their lessons. ‘Didn’t know..huh’ he looked out the window as everyone poured in. This was gonna be a long day..
———————
Nejire walked arm and arm with [Name], the two of them blabbering to each other as they headed to their class together. “Aw come on and have fun, I need your help y'know don’t laugh at me! ” She whined, shaking the now laughing girl. “I know! Why don’t you talk to him for me?” She said with her iconic excitement, turning to face [Name] as she owlishly blinked back at the girl, hands up in defense. “Uh uh don’t get me in your way of what your crush. I’m not even that helpful in these things!” She said with a giggle as they started to walk once again, passing an open classroom. Stealing a glance through the open door, she swore she saw a certain blonde and Indigo duo she hadn’t talked to in years, not counting the fact she saw them at the recent festival she went to with Nejire. With the sudden stop Nejire turned around, looking back at her with a confused look.
“[Name]? Hello did you hear me?” She asked , waving her hand in front of the girl as she snapped out of it, smiling nervously back at her friend calling her. “Huh? Oh yeah! I-I’m fine just got a little distracted” She said, waving off Nejire's side glance as she headed to their classroom. The periwinkle haired girl watched her friend with a pout, looking into the classroom as she saw her other two best friends. “Miri! Tama! Hey!!” She said , running into the classroom as she hugged them, Tamaki hating her loud appearance while Mirio blushed at the girls’ affection. “ Hey Neji, what’s up?” Mirio asked, color flushing his face, a thing his quiet friend noticed. With a nervous smile Nejire let go of the boys, giving them room as she laughed. “Nothing much, heading to class with [Name], what’re you guys doing? Are you guys ready for the class collab this afternoon?!” She started excitedly
Tamaki immediately looked up, eyes wide as he heard her name. ‘She is here, but why? Is she in the hero’s course too? Sigh...I wanna go home..I can’t face her..not yet’ He thought to himself. “Yep we sure are! I can’t wait to see her, is she really here? Where?!” Mirio jumped up , grabbing the shorter girl’s shoulders. “W-well we’re in class together! Class 2-A!” She said , a wild spread of color onto her cheeks settling in as she looked at the energetic blonde. “Tamaki let's go say hi! It’s been awhile since we saw her, I bet she’s happy to see us as much as we are to see her! Oh yeah, I can’t wait to ask her about the states, I wonder what she’s been up to!” Mirio said as he ran out of the room , headed to the neighboring one.
“Let’s go chicken heart!” Nejire turned to Tamaki, seeing the boy even gloomier than usual. “ Oh come on you knew her before I did! It’ll be fun, we can even be the big four!” She giggled as she tried to drag the elf ear boy along, a sigh falling from his lips. ‘Definitely a long day..’ he thought. “I’ll wait here Hado..I’ll talk to her later..” He said, pulling from the confused girl. “Aw come on, shell be happy to see you! Let’s go yeah?” Nejire begged to no avail, Tamaki already facing the wall in defeat. With a heavy sigh and pout she went after Mirio, leaving him to stew in his thoughts.
——————————
“So...you want to ask Hado out?” Tamaki started, looking to his usually ecstatic friend, a nervous look washing over his face. “Y-yeah..I dunno Tamaki, she’s something special. I can’t help the way my heart feels whenever she appears, her smile makes me warm, she's like a female me! Ah what can I say, I just feel..whole y'know? In a relationship way not saying that you don’t make me feel happy and whole too! Hey Tamaki! Stop looking like that!” Mirio said, finally turning to the boy after his confession, seeing his friend now looking intimidatingly at his lunch, chopsticks pulling apart the fried octopus in his meal.
“I dunno Mirio...are you sure you want to do this..? What if she..rejects you…?” The pessimistic boy said, looking over to his friend in concern. “Well...we’d just have to go back to being friends! No harm in that right?” Mirio said, happy as can be with a smile to Tamakis’ dismay. ‘How can someone be so happy all the time..’ he thought, hearing his friend explain how he’d confess to Nejire, but all he could think about is how to do the same for [Name]. ‘Oh bunny..I hope I could one day too..tell you how much you mean to me..’ Tamaki thought, looking up as the sun shined brightly.
————————
“Okay so I wanna confess to Miri” Nejire blurted out, halting a stretching [Name]. “You want to do WHAT?” [Name] said , a little louder than she hoped, seeing angry stares at her as she apologized, looking back at her friend. “ You really want to go to the next step huh?” She said soon sighing ”Do you...think you’re ready Neji? There's good AND bad that could come from this, I don’t want you getting your heart hurt if it doesn’t work out…” She said, looking back to the periwinkle haired girl , determination plastered onto her face. “ I have to [Name] , if I don’t I won’t be able to know if I really like him , so I can finally deal with this silly crush once and for all!” Nejire said, turning to look back at her lost friend. “Trust me , I’ll be okay..I need to do this. Next year is our last year together, and if we have a blossoming love into the ages I refuse to miss the opportunity!” She said, enthusiasm laced throughout her speech.
“I’ll text him now! Tell him there’s something I have to tell him” Nejire started, opening her phone as she typed vigorously, sending the text with a ’ping’ “Well alright..but I’m telling you now I’m no wingman!” [Name] said , following behind Nejire, who soon was squealing through the halls, starting to run towards the stairs. “He said yes [Name] , he said yes! He told me to come up to the rooftop! C'mon we have to hurry before class starts!” Nejire said, taking up the stairs. “Wait! Ugh love birds..” [Name] grumbled, speeding up to catch up to her.

Twilight, when the sun and the moon meet in the middle to change, from night to day , day to night. I’m this cause however, love is blossoming in the mist of its glory

Year 3, the final stretch until UAs’ finest become heroes in the world, men and women joining the social aspect of the world. But Tamaki knew it was a mock to that part in highschool, truly it being a ticking time bomb for him to confess his own feelings for his childhood best friend. The duo were currently headed for the workshop to get the updated gear they put in from the support class, both them excited to see the updates and new gear they ordered in. “Hey Tama, what did you think your hero gear looks like now? Ah I can’t wait! I hope now I don’t have to worry about tears and damaging me and my whole outfit!” [Name] said happily, rambling about her gear. Tamaki looked fondly at his energetic friend, his eyes sparkling as he took in her appearance.
The UA uniform hugging her in all the right places, her smile bringing a warmth to his heart. Her skin looked soft to the touch and her hair pinned and out of the way of her face, displaying her happy disposition. She soon looked up and met eyes with the shy boy as he soon turned red, stuttering out apologizes as he hid his face from the now giggling girl, her own face warming at noticing him staring at her. “Aw don’t be shy Tama! What’s up? Something wrong?” [Name] said, tilting her head to him as she leaned closer, which caused Tamaki to lean back from her and stutter even more which amused the girl even more. “ N-nothing s-stop teasing me bunny..” he whispered to the girl, turning even darker as he faced the wall , feeling his heart starting to speed, fluttering against his ribcage as the butterflies in his stomach rose up to meet his throat, the two mingling until they made a knot in the middle.
He tensed when [Name] wrapped her arms around his waist, tucking her face under his arm to look at him, a soft smile splayed on her face. “Tamaki. Talk to me, what's got you so flustered hm?” Her voice calmed him but also made him nervous as he finally turned around to her , with darkened cheeks and a shaking body , he grabbed her hands, holding them in his own as they both looked in eachothers eyes, each slowly moving towards the other when..
“Hey you two! Are you guys getting your gear too!?” They heard a loud happy voice yelling from down the hall, knowing it was a certain happy go lucky couple. Tamaki quickly released [Name] , both of them flustered as they didn’t look up to their friends, an awkward silence falling between them as they walked into the workshop.
————————————————
“Tamaki you really should tell her! I bet she’ll say yes, and if it's anything like what we saw last week it seems she’s really into you too!” Mirio said to his timid friend, the indigo haired boy in thought as he watched the girl he was practically in love with laughing and joking with his other best friend and Mirios’ girlfriend Nejire.”You remember how scared I was to tell Neji I liked her and it turned out she was coming to tell me the same thing! The way you and [Name] stared at each other until we were done confessing had meaning in it y'know?” Mirio looked over at Tamaki, the shy boy now glancing towards him.
With a deep breath he continued “I know when she left you were heartbroken Tamaki….” With that statement , Tamaki perked up to look at his blonde friend seeing him look at him with soft eyes “You’ve always been in love with her Tama, everyone could see it…” With a sigh , Tamaki started, opening and shutting his mouth but with no avail , nothing came out. Mirio smiled and continued his thoughts “ We all hoped you’d tell her soon, to at least see where it could go….All of us really, you two maka a great duo as heroes, and we all see the chemistry, inside and out of the ring. And you know Neji, once she gets her mind set on something she doesn’t give up until it happens.” He said , glancing to his periwinkle haired lover talking to [Name] , the other girls face flushing with color as Nejire continued to talk on and on , obviously giving their other friend the same talk he was doing up here.
“I’ll...talk to her” Tamaki finally spoke up, shocking his optimistic friend. “What? Really??” Mirio said , grabbing Tamaki's arm and shaking the now dejected boy. “That’s great Tama, I’ll let Nejire know! Y'know we were planning to go out and get some pre summer fun done before we get out of school and start our pro hero lives! Why don’t you tell her there?” Mirio said , giving Tamaki a thumbs up. “Sure..what’s worse than confessing to a crush but doing it in public…” Tamaki responded, walking towards the door of the roof with his excited friend beside him, texting his girlfriend the plans as they headed down to meet them. ‘ I hope this works...Bunny I hope you’ll feel the same too..’ He thought to himself, trying to be the most confident he could muster inside of him.
————————————————
Tamaki waited outside with Mirio outside of the girls dorm, the energetic blonde constantly trying to giving the pessimistic indigo advice of what to say and how to confess, but all he could think about was all the ‘what ifs’ and how this could go wrong. Just before he started to try and get out of something he thought could bring him more regret the main door opened, showing a happy Nejire and a shy [Name] hidden behind her.
“Sorry boys it took so long! [Name] and me had to get ready , wanted to look our best for you two!” Nejire said with a wink, walking over to kiss Mirio on the cheek.” Well you two look beautiful! Don’t they Tamaki?” He asked , seeing as his friend was disgraced by the girl in front him, mouth slightly agape. “H-huh! Oh y-yeah you both look n-nice..” He rambled out, turning from his crush in front of him, looking everywhere except to make eye contact with the girl in front of him “Aw Tama stop being like that! [Name] got all dressed up and pretty for you and you won’t even look at her!” Nejire said, smacking the timid boy in the back with her purse.
With a pout from Mirio telling her to give their shy friend time, the couple started walking, the two shy friends behind them following close behind.”Nejire“I-it’s okay! He’s just nervous is all!” She defended him as well, walking beside Tamaki and throwing him a small smile. “We better keep up, or Nejire will have your head at this rate!” She laughed as he let off a deep sigh, all of them heading to what Nejire called their “romantic getaway”. As they went up the hill, [Name] gasped happily, looking down at an early festival going on. “Guys come look! It looks like they’re having some type of festival going on!” She exclaimed and Nejire sat beside her, they both giggled with joy as they watched the people beneath them run and dance around happily as the festival continued. Soon Tamaki and Mirio joined them , sitting beside each girl as they watched on, the joy from the day settling into them all.
As the sun started to set, Nejire gently laid her head on Mirios shoulder, the blonde smiling down at his girlfriend as they started snuggling up to each other in the sunset, drifting asleep on one another.
“Ah looks like the two of them are starting to sleep” [Name] said softly, seeing as their lovebird friends were drifting off as the sun hung low in the horizon, everyone in the festival gathering as they collected fireworks to set off.
“Y-yeah..” Tamaki agreed softly, looking at the girl beside him, his heart skipping a beat as she was already glancing over to him, a smile grazing her lips.
“I’m glad we’re here, back together Tama...I..missed you a lot when I went back home..it wasn’t the same” [Name] said with a whisper. “I..didn’t want to leave you..it’s why I gave you that octopus, I guess that was sorta silly..trying to convey how I felt with a stuffed animal “ She let out a light sigh, shaking her head as she watched the sun slip away. Tamaki reached out for her hand causing the girl to snap her head towards him, seeing his cheeks flush.
“[N-name]...Bunny..I’ve always c-cared for you and y-you moving c-changed nothing..if anything I-it made me realize how m-much you mean to me..I think…no..I know I’m in love with you, and I-I’m hoping...t-that you..c-could maybe..” And before he had the chance to finish they heard the iconic pop of fireworks, the two of them turning to watch the array of lights, their hands intertwined. As the moon slipped up from being hidden under the horizon, Tamaki watched [Name] , a smile settling on his lips as the moon and fireworks making the girl seem lambent to him, inside and out.
“Bunny..” He called out to her and with a soft hum she turned to him , eyebrow raised. ‘It’s now or never..’ Tamaki thought to himself, standing up as he held out his hand to her. [Name] smiled and stood with him, holding his hand back as she tilted her head, eyes wandering between his.”B-be mine..?” He asked, almost so quiet he didn’t expect her to let out a held breath and with a gentle smile answered “I’ve always been yours”. With a shaky exhale of a breath he pulled her closer, closing the distance between them with a passionate kiss, savoring the first of many kisses together, under the moon and fireworks.
——————————————————
Bonus ♡ !! :
Later that night , the gang of Tamaki and [Name] headed back with Mirio and Nejire, all four of them sitting on the floor of Mirios’ dorm as they ate snacks until their dinner arrived. “ Okay so! What should we watch tonight?” Nejire asked, stuffing her face soon after with marshmallows. “Please Hado..don’t chew with your mouth open..” Tamaki whispered, laying his head on [Name]’s Lap as she played with his hair, a held snort coming out. “We have games too! Don’t forget!” She said in response , laughing at her periwinkle haired friend as she started to finish her bowl of gummy white marshmallows, smiling when she was done. “Okay okay, now! Games or a movie?” “Games.” Mirio interrupted , a smirk growing on his face. “Let’s make a bet , whoever loses has to help and serve the winners” With a huff, Nejire stood to her taller male counterpart, cheeks puffed “That’s why we’ll win! You’re on!” Tamaki let out a sigh of disappointment and [Name] couldn’t help but smile, kissing the cheeks of her new boyfriend. “ It'll be okay Tama, I’m here remember?” She said softly as he sat up from her lap , giving her a proper kiss “You are and I wouldn’t change this for anything. I love you bunny” Tamaki said , kissing her once more on the lips, their friend arguing background noise as she kissed him back with a sweet “I love you too Tama”

Francis Bacon
Tumblr media
https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-francis-bacon
https://www.francis-bacon.com/artFrom a small London studio littered ankle-deep with source material, bottles of fine champagne, and a cacophony of paint splatters, Francis Bacon conjured some of the most innovative and, as art critic Robert Melville once put it, “satanically influential” paintings of the 20th century. His canvases writhe with fleshy, screaming, contorted figures, from popes and famed art-historical subjects to friends and ill-fated lovers. His searing work embodies a host of post-war cultural anxieties, as well as Bacon’s personal demons and obsessions.
But what was this mighty, enigmatic painter’s secret to creating such spellbinding imagery—and, all the while, upholding his status as king of the bon vivants? Below, we pull back the curtain on who Bacon was, what motivated his deeply affecting paintings, and why their sulfurous power won’t be fading anytime soon.
Who Was Francis Bacon?
Bacon was a complex man whose work was informed by a tangled web of intense relationships, art-historical fixations, and a fair number of vices. Born in Dublin in 1909 to a domineering father, Capt. Anthony Edward Mortimer, and his much younger wife, Christina Winifred Firth, Bacon was derided as a “weakling” and, as legend has it, horse-whipped by his father during his youth due to issues with chronic asthma. At 17, he was kicked out of the family home for good when he was discovered trying on his mother’s underwear.

But despite (or perhaps because of) his asthmatic bouts and the abuse he endured, Bacon was strong-willed and resilient, with the constitution of a bull. He drank, ate, gambled, loved, and painted with such voraciousness that he rarely had time for sleep; two to three hours a night was typical. Through this haze of debauchery and hard living, and bolstered by deep friendships and aesthetic obsessions, Bacon produced a cascade of paintings that were not only disturbingly beautiful, but also boldly original. His shocking work galvanized the group of painters surrounding him in mid-century London (the “School of London”) and eventually influenced several generations of artists to come, includingDamien Hirst, Jenny Saville, and Jake and Dinos Chapman, to name just a few. What Inspired Him? After Bacon was jettisoned from his family home, he embarked on a series of European escapades that opened his eyes to art and design, not to mention other earthly pleasures, like sex and wine. Several works he encountered during his travels made a lasting impact on his work and wouldn’t leave his mind until his death in 1992. While studying French near Chantilly in 1927, he happened upon Poussin ’sgreat Massacre of the Innocents (1628–29) and was struck by the emotional agony of the scene, embodied forcefully in the screaming maw of a mother whose child is about to be killed. Later that year, he picked up a book detailing diseases of the mouth, and not long after that, he watched Sergei Eisenstein’s 1925 film Battleship Potemkin, which features a scene of a howling, bloodied nurse—an image permanently tattooed on his mind. Around that time, on a trip to Paris, he was also introduced to Picasso ’searly figurative drawings. All these run-ins provided Bacon with his initial art education (he was never formally trained) and went on to influence his unique approach to rendering the human body as a malleable—and, at times, grotesque—vessel of raw human feeling.

The wide-open mouth would later materialize in some of the painter’s greatest canvases: his series of wailing popes, which he toiled over from 1949 until 1971. They show blurred, bethroned men caught in the act of an intense and seemingly eternal scream that, as Bacon biographer Michael Peppiatt has said, might have referred simultaneously to the militaristic orders of Bacon’s father, the raging rows between Bacon and his tortured lover Peter Lacy, or more simply, to a cry of fear or the climax of a body-quaking orgasm. This was the rare power of Bacon’s work: fusing a range of references into a Frankenstein’s monster of a whole, a beast shuddering with frustration, tension, and countless other, subtler emotions.
Bacon’s “Popes” also reveal another influence: Velázquez ’s Portrait of Pope Innocent X (1650), a painting Bacon became so infatuated with that he admitted to having a “crush” on it. Time and time again, Bacon would rework his own version of the masterpiece, although, interestingly, he refused to see the painting in person when he finally made a trip to Rome. He was embarrassed, he told Peppiatt, of his many “stupid” manipulations of the piece.
Alongside the many other great artists (Giacometti, Van Gogh, and Matisse among them) who influenced Bacon, the painter also looked for creative guidance in the work of writers and poets—namely Racine, Baudelaire, and Proust. He was attracted to their ability to pare down the complexities of human existence into succinct lines and phrases; he sought to do the same with the arresting figures rooted at the core of his canvases.

How Did He Work?
Reproductions of Bacon’s inspirations—like the Massacre of the Innocents, along with tattered photos of wild animals, Egyptian talismans, and more—ended up in a soupy jumble on the floors of the many studios he occupied over the course of his career. The exuberant mess was accented with paint and the occasional vestiges of parties he hosted after a long night of carousing through London’s drinking clubs and gambling houses. One of Bacon’s friends, the painter Graham Sutherland , once described Bacon’s early Cromwell Place studio as “a large chaotic place, where the salad bowl was likely to have paint on it and the painting to have salad dressing on it.” But for all his decadence, Bacon was also extremely dedicated, with his own brand of regimentation. “You have to be disciplined in everything, even in frivolity,” he was known to have said. “Above all in frivolity.” Indeed, his passion for enthusiastic and prolonged socialization seemed to fuel his work. Without fail, after a late night of partying, he would wake up at 6 a.m. to paint for several hours in the morning light. Then he’d begin dining and boozing about town, liaising with his many friends and acquaintances, from fellow painters Lucian Freud and Frank Auerbach to renowned London collectors, such as the Sainsbury’s, to one of his many lovers, like Lacy or Eric Hall. He even went so far as to say that he worked better after a night of drinking: “My mind simply crackles with electricity after one of those evenings,” he once boasted to his friends. “I think the drink actually makes me freer.”

There were some risks to this routine, however. On several occasions, he’d come home late at night, wildly drunk, and decide to “perfect” a painting he’d finished the day before, only to wake up the next morning and discover that he’d ruined it. After one of these episodes, his gallery began collecting his paintings from his studio the moment he finished them.
Bacon’s childhood nanny, Jessie Lightfoot, who lived with the painter until her death in 1951, and his two primary dealers—first Erica Brausen at Hanover Gallery, then Valerie Beston at Marlborough Gallery—also played major roles in helping organize his life and career. When Bacon was struggling financially during his youth, Lightfoot helped him find lovers who would also provide financial support. Brausen became a close friend and confidante; they bonded over their shared homosexuality and appetites for risk-taking (Bacon’s on the canvas; Brausen’s on the walls of her gallery). And starting in 1958, Miss Beston, as she was affectionately called, arranged almost all of Bacon’s day-to-day logistics during his most successful years. She paid his bills, arranged his calendar, made sure his apartment stayed clean, and kept him to his painting schedule. She also kept his canvases out of the trash bin, as he was known to destroy them.
Why Does His Work Matter?
Bacon brought new emotional intensity to the painted figure by representing his subjects—be they friends or mythological figures—as contorted, fleshy, emotionally open masses. He sought to reveal, in all its complexity, what was behind the human facade. “I would like my pictures to look as if a human being had passed between them, like a snail leaving its trail of the human presence…as a snail leaves its slime,” he once said. Indeed, Bacon’s paintings pulsate with the dual energy of human suffering and ecstasy. They seem to unearth, in their blurred limbs and wide-open mouths, our most primal urges. (Scholars have noted that in his canvases from the 1950s, monkeys and men often closely resemble one another.)

**
This was the ultimate adrenaline rush.
Running through the woods with the stars above was definitely a thrill for any average werewolf. That was the time they were one with the forest, truly at home. It was only natural for that to be where a wolf sought solace.
But this. This right here was its own kind of high. With the rumble of the engine vibrating the whole car, Kris felt in complete control. Pushing his foot down on the gas pedal, he revved his motor threateningly, letting his opponent know who the winner would be at the end of this mile.
The flag girl stood safely off to the side, the white polyester cloth held up high for both drivers to see. At the race handler’s signal, she threw the flag in the air and they took off.
Kris nearly cursed to see his opponent had half a car length’s jump on him. Shifting gears, he pushed the pedal down even farther, the engine roaring and straining in protest. But Kris knew his car inside and out. He knew what it could take, having torn the engine apart before rebuilding it to the perfection it was today. And his baby never let him down as he watched the nose of his car inch up to be head to head with his opponent.
Flipping up a hidden switch, Kris pressed that fun little red button, giving him just the boost he needed. The car shot forward thanks to that punch of NOS, propelling him past the other driver and crossing the makeshift finish line.
Victory was his. Little yelps and laughs of celebration escaped his lips as he grinned from ear to ear. As he circled around back to the main area, he parked his car along the rows of other souped-up vehicles. Getting out of the car, he rounded to the front and leaned back against the hood to wait for his payment.
Jimmy, a short bald man and Kris’ fellow Chinese man, came up to him with too much energy. Kris held out his hand for Jimmy to take, pulling him into that classic brother half-hug.
“What’s up, man?” Kris smirked, knowing exactly why Jimmy had come over to him.
“I gotta say, you can race like no one else I’ve ever seen before,” Jimmy praised.
Kris laughed. Little did any of these people know that what made him so good was his werewolf reflexes. His timing was better as well as his ability to process a situation and make a quick decision. Very handy when the race usually only lasts ten seconds or so.
“Just lucky, I guess,” he shrugged.
Jimmy scoffed. “Yeah, right.” He held up a thick roll of cash. “Your take in the winnings, Racer King.”
“Thank you,” Kris grinned, pocketing the money.
“Still not going to count it?” Jimmy sighed.
“Told you,” Kris said as he headed back for the driver’s door, “I don’t do it for the money. It’s just a nice bonus.”
“I’m going to start taking a bigger cut, then,” Jimmy warned.
Kris shook his head. “No, you won’t.”
Even seated inside the car, Kris heard Jimmy mumble playfully, “Punk.”
Taking off down the road, the smile on Kris’ face began to fade.
Illegal street racing wasn’t exactly the safest hobby or activity to partake in, no matter how good and isolated the location was. Years ago, he’d dabbled into it. Until Jiyoon scolded him and made him quit.
Now, almost as soon as he’d settled back down in this town, he’d scoured all over the place to track down the races.
Was he being slightly self-destructive? Not completely. He was safe in how he raced, careful until the finish line.
Was he just running away without going anywhere? Plausible.
The drum-heavy music that blared from his phone mercifully pulled him out of his thoughts. Pressing the phone button on his dash, he answered the call through the Bluetooth set up.
“Yes, Tao?”
“Kris-ge,” the younger wolf whined. “Are you almost home? Sehun and Chanyeol are threatening to leave without you.”
Kris shook his head, exasperated. Twelve was just too many members for a pack. “If they do, they’re on bathroom duty for two weeks.”
Tao repeated Kris’ threat to the others which lead to several unintelligible cries of protest in the background.
“I’m almost there,” Kris groaned. “Hold on for five more minutes. Think you guys can sit still long enough?”
“Sure,” Tao replied. “I can, at least.” There was a pause and Kris almost hung up the call when Tao added, “Hey, Kris? Where you have been going lately? Between you and Junmyeon, I’m getting worried.”
“I’ve just been out running a few errands,” Kris lied, if a little guiltily. He knew if he told the others that he’d been out racing, they’d want to come along to watch. Considering the fact that drag racing in the streets was highly illegal, there was always the chance of the cops coming out and breaking it up and topping it off with a few arrests. Kris didn’t mind if he spent the night in jail, but if the others got locked up with him, Junmyeon would have a fit. Better to keep his brothers out of it. “Don’t worry about me. I’m fine. I’m pulling up into the driveway now.”
“Okay.” Tao hung up without saying goodbye.
Pulling up around back, Kris turned off the engine and sat in his car. Without any prompting the boys ran out the door and huddled around the car’s left side. It was hard, but he resisted rolling his eyes as he got out of the car.
“Let’s go.” He tried his best to not sound as irritated and annoyed as he felt, but considering the questionable glance that Chanyeol gave him, he must have failed. At least tonight, Yixing and Minseok were going with them. That meant they’d be getting back earlier from the run since they had class in the morning and would be more adamant about getting some sleep.
They all headed for the forest, stripping themselves of their clothes to be picked up on the way back.
**
“Are you serious?” Ji Yeon gasped.
By pure luck, after Huan had dropped you off fairly early for class, Ji Yeon had found you just sitting at one of the stone tables in the courtyard as you waited for it to be an appropriate time to head to class. The two of you were quick to exchange numbers and then you told her about your ordeal on the way home the previous night.
“I knew yesterday was just going way too well for me,” you laughed, shaking your head.
“Where did you take your car?” Ji Yeon asked.
You frowned as you thought to remember. “Um, it was called Lang Auto Shop?”
Ji Yeon’s eyes lit up. “Really? I know the guy that owns that place! You, ma’am, are in very good hands. He’s a magician when it comes to cars. And, he won’t overcharge you. That is the real magic.”
You couldn’t help but giggle. The picture forming in your head was of a kind old man with a too-long beard that felt like everyone’s grandfather.
All too soon, it was time for both of you to get to class. Luck seemed to be on your side as your lecture halls were right next to each other, giving you a little more time to talk before you had to separate. Unfortunately, your schedules didn’t match up for the rest of the day, but Ji Yeon promised to text you to set a time for lunch tomorrow.
The rest of your school day was spent with your mind pacing back and forth. You wanted to focus on the lectures and PowerPoints that occupied your class time, but you were worried about your car. Two different people had sworn up and down that the owner of the body shop was a fair mechanic, but there was only so much they could do if your engine needed a part that cost more than a grand. The move had put a dent into your savings as well as Huan’s and the last thing you needed was a hefty mechanical bill.
Finally, the time for Huan to come pick you up from the university and take you to the shop had come. You had to miss out on your last class of the day to make it before the shop closed, but you figured one missed session early in the semester wouldn’t hurt you.
Hopping into the passenger’s seat of his well washed black Mercedes, you leaned over the middle console and gave your fiancé an appreciative kiss before greeting him. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he purred back, stealing another kiss. “How was your day?”
You shrugged. “Fine. It’d be better if I wasn’t panicking over my car, but, you know, life.”
Huan just laughed at you. “Yeah, life does that.” As you put your seat belt on, he turned to the GPS, “Okay, what was the name of the shop?”
“Lang Auto Shop.”
Just like you, Huan seemed to find the name strange, but interesting.
It only took about fifteen or twenty minutes to get to the shop from the school. Huan parked right outside the garage doors and both of you got out to find an employee.
“Can I help you?” One of the mechanics approached you, wiping his hands on an already dirty rag. The patch on his coveralls said “Brian”. He certainly looked like a Brian with his blonde hair and cheerful grin.
“Yeah, my fiancé’s car broke down last night and she had it towed here,” Huan explained. “She left the spare keys with a note about what happened and so we were just seeing if there was any update on that or if you were able to even get to it.”
Brian nodded. “Yeah, yeah. Silver four-door, right?”
“That’s the one.”
“It was actually a simple fix,” Brian said to your relief. “Two of the wires under the hood had been rubbing together and the heat had melted the rubber coating on the outside and shorted the fuse box. We were able to replace the box and wrapped up the expose parts of the wire. I think it ended up being about a hundred dollars or so. We’ve got the invoice in the office.”
Brian motioned for you to follow him, but while Huan did so, still talking to him about the wires and what had gone on with your car, another mechanic in the shop had caught your eye. Bent over and inspecting the engine of a nice mustang was someone that you never expected to see again in your lifetime.
“Kris?”
At the sound of his name, Kris turned and met your eyes. When he did, his jaw went slack and his hand that was keeping him balanced above the engine slipped, causing his head to hit the lifted hood.
You snickered, not quite able to believe this situation in the slightest.
Rubbing the top of his head, he stuttered, “(y-y/n)? W-what are you doing here?”
Over your shoulder, you pointed with your thumb as your good-as-new car parked just outside. “My car broke down last night and we brought it here. This is just insane. Is this where you guys moved to?”
Eyes still wide open in shock, Kris gave you a shaky nod. “Yeah. Yeah, this is where we moved to.”
Something… strange was happening inside you. While Kris had always been slightly taller than you, now he just seemed like a giant, much taller and toned than you had ever imagined him to be. Not that you imagined what adult Kris would look like. Much.
As his brown eyes stared down at you in amazement, your heart started speeding up on its own. You scolded it for getting so worked up over nothing. Of course, Kris did seem to turn into a very handsome man, but that was to be expected. He was a cute kid so why shouldn’t he be an attractive adult? The ring on your left hand was suddenly much heavier.
“Hey, honey.” Huan came over and joined you, planting a kiss on your cheek. Affection like that was nothing new from him, but now you felt uncomfortable at his public display. Sensing some of the tension between you and Kris, he asked, “Do you two know each other?”
“Yeah,” you admitted quickly. “Huan, this is Kris, an old friend of mine. Kris, this is my fiancé, Huan.”
Huan, ever the pleasant and outgoing type, held his hand out. “It’s nice to meet you.”
On the other end, you could see the strain it took for Kris to return the gesture. “Pleasure to meet you, too.”
“Wait,” Huan grinned down at you. “Is this the Kris that you used to talk about all the time?”
Your own eyes went wide with panic. “N-not all the time.”
Kris laughed. “I’m a pretty impressionable guy, so I’m not surprised.”
That made you roll your eyes. Some things never change.
Huan didn’t seem to like the direction the conversation was going, so he looped an arm around your lower back. “Well, it was nice meeting you, Kris, but we should probably get going.”
“Yeah,” you agreed halfheartedly. Seeing Kris again so randomly was making your mind fuzzy. You needed to get out of here, but you didn’t want to leave.
“It was nice to meet you, Huan,” Kris said sincerely. Looking back to you, he gave a soft smile, “It was really good to see you again, (y/n).”
It was impossible not return it. “You, too, Kris.”
Your footsteps were heavy as you walked away from the shop. What strange coincidence was this?
Driving home in your newly fixed car, you were too preoccupied and lazy to cook anything for dinner so you picked up some take out instead, getting both of your usual orders.
At the table, Huan talked about his day like normal, but you found yourself only replying with “hms” and “huhs”. Kris’ face kept floating along in your mind. What had he been up to all these years? Did he go to the same school that you went to now? Did he work at the shop or own it? How were his parents, who always treated you like one of their own?
The muscles in the corner of your mouth pulled up at that last question, remembering the fond memories of playing at Kris’ house and being a bit spoiled by Mrs. Wu. Having no daughter of her own, she kind of doted on you, much to Kris’ irritation.
“What’s the smile for?” Huan asked.
You blinked, looking up from your food. “What?”
“You’re grinning,” he pointed at you with his fork. “What were you thinking about?”
“Just… fond memories,” you shrugged. “Kris’ parents were always really nice to me. I was just thinking about them.”
Huan nodded, looking a little relieved. “Oh, okay.”
He dropped the subject, much to your own relief.
Later that night, after the two of you had crawled into bed and said good night, you found yourself just lying there, staring at the wall and unable to fall asleep. Huan had no trouble drifting off, snoring loudly behind you with one arm draped over your waist, lazily holding you close.
Careful not wake him up, you slowly got out of bed, letting his arm slide off of you. Walking into the closet, you closed the door before turning on the light.
While most of your belongings were unpacked and put away, there was one box that you hadn’t quite gotten to yet. Most of the objects inside were things you didn’t really touch or hadn’t thought about in a long time so there wasn’t any hurry. Pulling the box down from the high shelf, you quietly set it on the floor and opened it up.
A lot of the knick-knacks were from your childhood; first day photos, crappy art projects, a yearbook here and there. Underneath all of that, though, was a very special shoe box. You’d put it away a long time ago, sometime before your sophomore year of college as your teen years were put behind you and real adulthood was coming along.
The contents inside were your most precious items. Items that reminded you of your best friend before he abruptly moved away without a single word of goodbye. It hurt to think about still, how you cried for a week straight while your mother held you and rocked you to sleep. All you wanted was your best friend back, but you didn’t know where he’d gone.
And now he’d magically appeared in front of you. What a jerk.
One by one, you pulled the items out, smiling as you did so. There were a few pictures of you and Kris from your zoo trips and birthday parties. Random rocks you’d found that you once thought were cool and even a red leaf that you’d laminated because you thought it was pretty and you didn’t want to lose it occupied space in the box. But the one thing that you were actually looking for was buried all the way down at the bottom.
Trying not to break the somewhat tangled chain, you pulled out the necklace and held it up.
On your thirteenth birthday, your mother surprised you by having the dumb moonstone that you’d always carried around in your pocket turned into a necklace that you could wear. The rock had always served its purpose, the one Kris had disposed upon it all those years ago. With it in sight, you really couldn’t think of anything else but him.
Sitting there on the floor of your closet in the middle of the night, you fiddled with the necklace, turning the stone in your hand over and over again. Was it a work of fate that he magically appeared in your life again? Or was it just a stunning coincidence?
Either way, you had an inkling feeling that your life was about to get a little complicated.
**
It was supposed to be a normal day at work. Kris was simply supposed to go in, work on the cars for the day and then go home to have dinner with the boys and maybe get some work done on his own baby.
The silver car that was parked out in front of the shop when he arrived in the morning didn’t seem like anything extraordinary. By lunchtime, he was able to get to the car, finding the problem right away thanks to his good eyes and the note left by the owner. He’d smiled when he read the name, thinking immediately of his childhood friend.
Never, ever in a million years would he ever expected that the same person who left the car and note would really be his old childhood friend – you. And not only that, but the biggest surprise was yet to come.
You were his mate.
The clenching feeling in Kris’ chest was almost overwhelming the second his eyes settled on you. Of course, he recognized you right away. You’d hardly changed at all, even though more than fifteen years had passed.
It was incredible. Something like this was rare, having known his mate since he was young. It seemed impossible that the one destined for him would be you.
And of course, being the smooth operator he was, he’d managed to slip and hurt himself on the car he was working on.
Then things just got worse.
A man came up to you and kissed you on the cheek. Reflexively, Kris’ muscles tightened on the wrench he gripped in his hand. The wolf inside growled at him to do something, to get that man away from his mate. But that was your fiancé. He couldn’t exactly just shove the guy off of you and steal you away.
Driving home that night, Kris felt like there was a war going on inside him. He’d held onto the memory of Jiyoon for so long, he didn’t know it would be this intense like to have those feelings washed away.
Kris had never wanted to find his mate. To him, no one could compare to Jiyoon. But… you felt like a mercy from Fate. The only person who could out shine Jiyoon would be the first girl he’d ever had a crush on.
But you had a fiancé. You’d already promised to spend your life with someone else. What was Kris to do about that?
Maybe this was for the better. If you were with Kris… something bad could happen to you. He couldn’t let you end up like Jiyoon. He didn’t want the same thing again. So, maybe this was meant to be. Kris had found his mate, but you could be happy with someone else. And… maybe you two could just be friends in this lifetime. The wolf didn’t like that idea.
A ferocious war indeed.
With heavy footsteps, Kris walked up to the farmhouse and stepped inside to the kitchen, expecting Kyungsoo to be slaving away at the stove on dinner. However, the house was quiet and no one seemed to be around.
“Hello?” Kris called out.
“No one’s home.” Junmyeon stepped into the kitchen. He was dressed down in sweats and a tank top, the complete opposite of his usual professor get up. In fact, he looked like shit. “They all went out for pizza a few hours ago. Chanyeol said he would text you.”
Frowning, Kris pulled out his phone. Sure enough, there was the text on his screen. He never heard the notification, probably because he was too lost in his thoughts. It was miracle he even made it home without an incident. He shrugged it off, not too put out by it. There was plenty of food in the fridge that he could eat and by now they’d be done and on their way home. Instead, he turned back to Junmyeon.
“What’s going on with you?”
Junmyeon sighed heavily, shuffling over to the breakfast booth. He sat down with a thump and rested his face in his hands.
Kris sat down across from him. “Junmyeon?”
He looked up and stared at Kris. “You don’t look much better.”
“Yeah,” Kris scoffed. “I just got the surprise of my life today.”
Junmyeon raised an eyebrow. “Oh, yeah? I bet I can beat it with what happened to me last week.”
Sitting back, Kris smirked. “Really? Fine. We’ll say it at the same time and see who wins.”
Junmyeon actually laughed. “Alright. Deal.”
Kris held a hand up along with three fingers that went down with the numbers. “Three. Two. One.”
“I found my mate.” “I found my mate.”
The alpha wolves stared at each other in shock.
“Well,” Junmyeon swallowed, “this is quite the development.”
“Yeah,” Kris nod. “You got that right.”
Thunderous footsteps shook the house and the rest of the pack came tumbling into the kitchen from the front of the house. They were wrestling around and joking with each other, but when they noticed the two alphas sitting in the booth, the chatter stopped.
“Anything you guys want to share?” Minseok asked.
Kris looked at Junmyeon and waved his hand out. “You first.”
Junmyeon dropped his head down to the table and groaned. For Junmyeon to be this conflicted about finding his mate, the situation had to be either highly comical or deep trouble. Kris was curious to find out which one it was.

May Blog a Day: 9
9. Tell us about your parents.  In what ways are you exactly like them? In what ways are you the opposite? OOOOOOF. BUCKLE IN KIDS.
I was also raised by a stepdad, but we’re not going to get into that this round. That’s just as complicated and I just don’t...wanna.
SO
Mom- Could be both a kind saint and raze you to the ground. She had high expectations for me, academically and in terms of being an amazing person who brought light to the world. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved music. She had an infectious faith in God and brutal determination to survive. She was very sick most of the time, and complications from Cystic Fibrosis led to transplant, which led to diabetes and kidney failure and a whole host of other health issues. I grew up knowing my mom would die sooner rather than later. She wasn’t supposed to live past 21 (she lived to almost 50). She wasn’t supposed to have me. Here I am.
She loved life though.Beyond all she loved her animals, and working with them. She was a master cook. She inspired leagues of people in our community. She had a very hard life, and did the best she could with it and me Her sense of humor kept her alive along with her grit. She loved butterflies, the color yellow, and silly voices. She loved me.
She also had BPD. At the end, she was desperately trying to keep me in her box. She loved me, but she emotionally and verbally abused the shit out of me- the kinds of insidious gaslighting, guilt-tripping, and manipulation that had pushed nearly everyone else away from her but me. She was constantly telling me I was too heavy to be loved. She could go from singing my praises in one breath, to screaming at me why I wouldn’t do more for my poor sick mother.
We had a very rocky relationship at the end of her life, but I’m proud to say I did what I could to keep the peace. Keep her comfortable. Try to make her happy. And she died knowing her daughter loved her and she was going home to Jesus. That’s what matters.
I am immensely like her in her positive traits- goofy voices, silly mannerisms, a whirlwind in the kitchen. I am driven as fuck. I am a light. I even look just like she did, at least in her younger years (and about 100lbs heavier- not saying much, considering the CF usually kept her around 98 lbs). I have her beautiful red/auburn/strawberry blond heair. My sense of humor was shaped by hers. I learned never to take myself too seriously, and that laughing about hospital grilled cheese and NG tubes. I learned you never underestimate God. You rely on him fully, and after the pain he will restore you sevenfold.
I miss her, writing this. She would have made my life here so fraught, but she would have been so excited and proud.
AND NOW ON TO LITERAL FLORIDA MAN.
Dad is a terrifying mountain of a man made of big feelings, adrenaline seeking, a desire to serve, and trauma. He and mom are bother Leos, so it’s no wonder they didn’t work out- vain, attention seeking, sometimes narcissistic on both of their ends. They met at a hopsital where she worked as a nurse, and Dad as a paramedic. He grew up with next to nothing- after his mother died unexpectedly when he was 8, his alcoholic father abandoned him. Dad lived in a barn in Kentucky on his own until his Auggie- an aunt, or uncle, not sure which, took him in. Needless to say, Dad had his own demons. Enlisted in the US Airforce at 17, served a bit in Vietnam (?????), and was supposed to be a K9 handler? Which I didn’t know until? Last year? They stuck him on a base without dogs, though. So he eventually ended up a fire medic.
By and large, my father spent most of my childhood absent when he left my mom for a worm of a woman. He was a workaholic from my perspective, and had his priorities way out of fucking wack. He worked for the SWAT team, Tampa PD, Tampa Fire (eventually becoming the chief of the district), did two tours in Iraq, and one in Desert Storm, and even more things I probably don’t know about. The man legit has a war trophy of a ceramic fish from the wall of Sadam Hussein’s pleasure palace. Uhm.
That said, now that he’s been to therapy and put himself to work at being a real father...holy shit? I love him? So much? His enthusiasm is unparalleled (only perhaps by mine, or my mother’s). HE loves to talk feelings, trauma, psychology. He understands people on a visceral level and can make friends with anyone. He laughs just like me. We walk just like each other- head down, determined as fuck to get where we’re going. He jumps in with both feet. He never hesitates to laugh or make a joke, and I live for the sound of his laugh these days. He has a downright spiritual connection with wolves and dogs, perhaps a little self made, but still interesting nonetheless. He can be stone hard and terrifying (there is some murkiness between how he and my mother treated each other- threats of abuse and arguments I was too young to remember, emotionally abusive bullshit he and the snake would pull when I would visit younger...)- but I’m happy to know him as he is now.
He would do anything for me. And I cannot tell you how good it feels to have a parent that I can trust, finally.
I am my father’s verbose daughter. I am made of passion, wild-eyed enthusiam, and a fuse that is long but an anger that is silent and terrifying. I am wildly creative and a leader. I am flooded with ADD just like him (i suspect he may be bipolar, as well). I am alive and I love it.
Now that I’ve written them out, my parents were terrifyingly similar, and it’s no wonder they didn’t work out. They both struggled with mental health to the point of suicide attempts (One with medication, one that had his uh. Swat buddies called on him). Neither had great relationships with their fathers. Both adored their mothers. Both were unfalteringly loyal people determined to do some good in this world. Both could be immensely selfish. Both had??? fascinations with the marine? Dad scubas. Mom water skiied. Both, at separate points in their lives, became obsessed with training dogs. Both survived some serious shit.
Both of them loved/love me with every fiber of their being and made me into the person I love being today.
And I’m glad I’ve finally gotten to a point where I can acknowledge that and love them both for who they are, and love myself.

In the blink of an eye
I loved writing this, although it does get pretty damn fluffy towards the end. But who doesn’t love a little bit of fluff every now and then...
Warnings: just swearing
Word count: 2,401
Tumblr media
“Seriously Tommy,” you warned, beyond exasperated. “You’ve always tested my fucking patience, but right now I am this close to walking away.”
You motioned to him at just how short your fuse currently was and ran a hand over your face, eyeing Tommy through your fingers with your most menacing glare. All he could do in response was meet your scowl with his unresponsive expression, which only infuriated you more. He was smoking a cigarette, composed and serene whilst you could physically feel your blood boiling in your veins. He nonchalantly flicked the residue of ash at the end of his cigarette and watched with furrowed brows as it drifted to the damp paving below, before looking up into the bustling streets of London at the stream of motorcars and the constant torrent of people pushing past where you were both stood. It felt like an age before he finally looked back at you.
“I’m not sure what you want me to say, Y/N,” Tommy shrugged. He actually shrugged, as if you were overreacting.
“I want you to say that I mean more to you than a fuck every few nights when you need a release, and that all those nights we’ve spent sharing things meant something and weren’t just alcohol-infused mistakes,” you shouted. You were beyond caring that you were yelling in the street. You were at breaking point. “It might be nice if you actually introduced me to the people at the socialite parties you invite me along on your arm to and made me feel like I mattered to you in some way. It might be nice if you didn’t lie to people about who I am and where I’ve come from, as if you’re ashamed.”
You came from humble beginnings; a poor family and a childhood spent cooped up in a tiny house with many siblings. Your relationship with Tommy had been fairly simple from day one. He had grown up with your brothers and spent a lot of time at your family home after school. As the years went on, you began to notice each other more. As teens, he’d sneak away from your brothers to come and find you and you’d steal first kisses in dark corners.  When you’d started frequenting the Garrison, experimental kisses turned into passionate embraces and hands hitching up skirts – and a lot of teasing from your brothers. When Tommy went off to war, you exchanged letters. You missed him, of course. He’d always been around, but nothing could prepare you for the intense feelings you felt when you saw him upon his return; weathered, traumatised but beautifully familiar. You felt as if a little tiny piece of you had been put back into place, that you never even realised you’d been without.
Since he had returned from the depths of war, Tommy had propelled himself and his family business to dizzy heights. His high-flying, business-driven life left little room for love, but Tommy would still pick you up and spend the night with you a few times a week, but something between you had been lost. The emotional connection you’d built up in your youth was dwindling and the Tommy you’d come to admire was morphing into Small Heath’s most prolific gangster.
To top it all off, he’d nothing short of embarrassed you at last night’s party. It wasn’t the first time that Tommy had bought you an expensive dress and invited you down to London with him to schmooze and mingle at high-society gatherings where free champagne was handed to you in endless quantities and delicate women fluttered past you draped in tassels and diamonds. The lavish scenes fascinated you, perhaps because they were worlds away from what you were used to in Small Heath. You had been working the room; people were interested in you and what you had to say. A wealthy looking club owner had asked you what you did for a living and before you could even answer for yourself, Tommy answered for you. And he lied. He told them you were a dress maker, leaving you to awkwardly spin falsehoods all evening about your fictional garments and make-believe clients.
The truth was that you’d been working as a pot washer in a respectable restaurant back in Birmingham. You enjoyed being busy with a job - the other workers in the kitchens had become your friends and the food the chef’s whipped up fascinated you. Tommy, however, had been encouraging you to leave and work for him almost as soon as you’d accepted the job. Now you knew, it’s because he looked down on your work. He was ashamed of you.
That on top of his recent distant behaviour was pushing you to your limits. You felt as if you were wasting your time trying to make something happen between the two of you.
“You really have nothing to say?” you snapped, as Tommy refused to break his silence in retaliation. “You’re unbelievable, Tommy. Goodbye – don’t bother contacting me again.” With that, you turned on your heel and marched in the opposite direction. You needed to get away from Thomas Shelby and his bullshit as quickly as possible. All you wanted was to get on the next train home, close your eyes and –
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The shrill shriek of a car horn and the grating crunch of brakes tore through the thick tension like a bullet in Tommy’s mind. As he turned towards the noise, his stomach dropped like a weight as he saw your delicate body tangled in the road against a motorcar. He swore under his breath, panic setting in and coursing through his veins like burning volts of electricity. A few people had reached you, but Tommy pushed them all away, dropping to his knees beside your head and taking it carefully in his hands. The intense crimson liquid was matted in your hair and stained on your forehead, seeping down onto your closed eyelids. He was used to the sight of blood, but the sight of it tainting the woman he cared about made him dizzy.
“Ambulance!” Tommy yelled, looking around him desperately at the dumfounded on-lookers, “Somebody call a fucking ambulance!”
He felt for your pulse and let out a long sigh of relief when he felt it against his finger, letting his forehead fall against yours and feeling the sticky blood against his skin. This was all his fault. If he hadn’t been so selfish and blind-sighted, you wouldn’t have stormed away from him in such a rage; too desperate to get away to even look where you were going. He regretted every second of the night before, as it was his actions and his actions only that had put you in this situation.
It’s funny how you don’t realise how much something means to you until it’s almost ripped away.
The ambulance arrived, and they drove you to the nearest hospital. You remained unconscious, and Tommy never left your side. He was assured by the nurses that you would be ok. They treated your head wound and you were left to come around. Tommy sat by your side and dutifully waited, rehearsing the words he would say to you in a desperate attempt to win your forgiveness and most importantly, your heart.
He wanted to tell you how sorry he was for not appreciating you. You’d stood by him through thick and thin and you knew him better than most. He knew that he had been distant since his return from France and had been pushing you away, yet you’d remained dutifully by his side until now. Most importantly, you were different from the other girls. Tommy was no stranger to women throwing themselves at him at decadent parties and gatherings, all desperate for a dirty night with a gangster to go home and tell all their friends about. You, however, were honest and real. You were with him because you truly cared about him. You spent long nights with him because you wanted to please him, and you accompanied him to London because you wanted to be a part of his life. All he had given you in return were lies and disrespect and it had taken a car knocking you to the ground to make him realise.
The skin on your face had begun to faintly bruise, the mottled patches creeping into your perfect complexion like intruders in the night. Tommy felt his nerves pick up and his stomach turn at the thought of you waking. He was desperate to see your eyes again, but he knew he was the last person you’d want to see…
“Mr Shelby,” a nurse almost whispered from the doorway of the private room that Tommy had paid for you to be in. “You’ve been sat there for hours. How about you take a walk? We’ll have a nice pot of tea ready for when you get back.”
Tommy ran his hands over his head, nodded and stood to leave the room. He could do with some fresh air; he was going stir-crazy staring at your perfect face becoming more and more damaged by the second. It was a relentless reminder of his foolishness.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The world very gradually fluttered into perspective, white wall by white wall. You felt numb for a few seconds before your body began to throb. You moved your head to try and take in your surroundings, but a searing pain ripped through you as you did, making you hiss in agony.
“Miss Y/L/N? You’re awake!” a voice exclaimed from across the room. You turned your head again, slower this time and blinked until you could make out a figure of a woman walking towards you. She was wearing a nurse’s uniform and carrying a cup of water and as she sat by your side, she proceeded to carefully help you drink. “You’ve been out for the count for a good while now,” she explained, “We had to persuade your lovely young man to go and get some fresh air!”
“Young man?” you croaked in confusion, each word dragging from your dry throat.
“Yes,” the nurse smiled as she took a small concoction of tablets from a bottle and held them out to you in her hand to take. “He never left your side once. Been awfully worried, he has. He’ll be back before long.” You took the pills from her and put them in your mouth as the nurse once again guided you with the water before she stood and left the room.
Your head fell back against the pillow and you stared up at the ceiling. You felt exhausted, but your mind was humming. Tommy. She must have meant Tommy. Thinking of his face brought the events from earlier in the day flooding back to you, leaving you feeling nauseous.
The argument. Tommy’s nonchalance.
The car colliding with your body.
Footsteps pulled you out of your thoughts and you slowly turned your head towards the doorway once again where Tommy’s broad figure came into view.
“Shit,” he cursed, “You’re awake. Fuck. I should have been here. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, Y/N.” He had sunk down into the chair at your bedside, grasping your hand tightly in both of his and pressing it to his forehead as he hung his head. He couldn’t even look at you.
You stared at him, guilt-ridden and almost shaking with regret. You were speechless; it was the most emotion he had displayed towards you in a long time. Just having his familiar energy near you gave you relief, as much as you wished it didn’t. You wanted to be angry with him again after how he’d made you feel the night before but having him by your side in this new and strange hospital ward in a city that wasn’t home felt so comforting.
“This is all my fault,” he continued, mumbling against your hand with his eyes screwed shut, unable to meet your gaze. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry for everything.”
“Shh,” you cooed, trying your best to reach for Tommy with your free hand. “I’m okay, Tommy,” you reassured. You lightly touched your forehead where your skin felt sore and tight, and felt stiches. “I am okay, aren’t I?” You quickly realised that you needed reassurance. Your legs could be broken for all you knew. Tommy finally looked up to meet your gaze. His eyes were blood shot and filled with misery.
“You’re okay,” he nodded, brushing your hair from your head gently with his hand. It was the tender and kind version of Tommy that you thought had been left behind in the trenches of war. “You have a head wound and you’ll be sore for a few weeks. You were lucky not to break anything.”
You sighed in relief, closing your eyes for a moment as the painkillers kicked in and drowsiness began to float through your body.
“Y/N, I have a lot of apologising to do, okay?” Tommy began, “I haven’t been the man you deserve lately, I know. I put business first and I should have put you first. I was trying to make myself look good in front of all those toffs at the party and -”
“Since when does Thomas Shelby care what people think? Especially toffs at parties,” you cut in with a small smirk.
“Since I started trying to take over their city,” Tommy said, “But you’re worth more than that. More than all of them. I don’t give a shit if you want to wash pots for the rest of your life. I don’t give a shit as long as you stay with me. Please… I don’t want to lose you.”
You let a small smile grace your lips as you searched his eyes and saw nothing but desperation and adoration. You couldn’t fight it, and you couldn’t continue fighting him. It went against every fibre of your being.
“Okay, Tommy,” you whispered, squeezing his hands that still held yours, “Get me back to Small Heath in one piece and then we’ll talk.”
He smiled back at you, leaning forward to softly press a kiss to your lips, intensely aware of your fragile state to exhibit the passion for you that was coursing through him at that moment.
He settled for stroking your hair as you drifted into a pill-induced dreamland, promising to be right there upon your wake.

Lonashipping Week Prompt #1: Forbidden Romance: The Enforcer and the Beast
So, this takes place in an AU within an AU (i.e. sticking with the plot of champion of the stars because… I got no other ideas…) So, there may be some spoiler material for future parts and even volumes in here. That and most of this could be said to be a Darling in the Franxx AU, but there aren’t really any code numbers, Franxx, and this is just regular Alola or stuff. But without further ado, on with the show!
 The Beast and the Enforcer
Prelude
This is a story of how a monster became human. Although it was a brief time for her, it was something she could never forget. Before he gave her the world, the only world she knew was filled with restless despair and abandonment. A closed isolated world that never expanded outside the walls. Not even light could manage to seep through the cracks. That place back then was the entirety of my world.
That place was the entirety of my world before I decided to break free from it. Aether Paradise. A place where I felt myself slowly die. A place where nearly all my questions were scoffed and shoved to the side by all who worked there. Where me and my sister were considered dolls toward our mother. That was until she appeared. That was where my story began.
To this day I had never forgotten…
To this day I had forgotten everything…
When I first saw light escaping from that room…
When I laid my eyes at the darkness…
At the boy who reached his hand...
At the girl who cowered in fear…
How he pulled me out from isolation…
 How warm her hand was…
And the time we spent together…
 Luma’s POV
Ever since the day that my father died, everything went downhill from there. I was treated as nothing more than a test subject. A monster in human skin. Even the Pokemon there got special treatment. Me? I would fight endless battles with Pokemon. If I won those battles, I would get a reward for it. And after that, I would be subjected to more testing and experiments that would concern Ultra Beasts and the only Pokemon I’ve had ever since I was little. One that I didn’t know that I had fused with as perfectly as the cell structure of graphene. I used to have someone visiting me. Who would feed me and tell me that things will be alright in the end. But she gave me two things that weren’t food; a picture book with various drawings, and my metal bracelet that was once given to me by one of my parents.
Shortly after however, I never saw her again. But I always kept those two things close to me. There was never a time where I would leave without them hidden under the huge black cloak that was given to be by the people who held me captive. Every time I looked at the colorful pictures from the little bit I could see from it in the darkness, it made me yearn for the world. I had always hoped that the world was something vast and comforting. Warm and Inviting to a monster like me who never understood anything… I was right… But I was also terribly naïve for my own good as I was subjected to yet another prison. I was an inmate. Lesser than that, I was just cargo.
 Gladion’s POV
Ever since the day our father disappeared, our mother tried to maintain a strong presence in front of me and my sister. However, she never told us what happened to him. Where he went. And why he left. I was the one always asking questions about him. Each day I would always ask my mother what happened to our father. The answer was always the same…
“He’s still here, son… Didn’t he wake you and Lillie up this morning?”
We were confused. Despite this, we ate that up. Thinking our father was still here in this island. Here in Alola. But I knew the truth from a conversation Wicke had with Faba.
“It’s a shame that Lady Lusamine is acting like this. The loss of her husband has really rattled her.”
“Hah. I will admit that the loss of Professor Mohn was indeed shocking, but you don’t see me crying. If anything, I’m getting sick of this side of Lusamine. If she isn’t going to take a stand at running this company like the president she is because of one person’s disappearance, then I’LL just have to stand up in her place!”
I told Lillie about it. The conversation that they had. All she did was shake her head and act as though she was in denial just as much as mom was. But deep down she must’ve known that dad wasn’t going to come back the way she hung around me or mother. Always thinking that one of us would be the next to disappear from her. The one thing that always peaked our spirits was when Wicke would let us go to the observatory and play with the Pokemon. Wicke took the two of us in the conservatory there like she usually would since Mother never let us step outside. But one day instead of playing family with a Cleffairy she had grown fond of since her early childhood, Lillie had curled herself into a ball and started crying with the same fairy Pokémon comforting her with a small whine.
 “Are you okay?”
“Do I… Stick out? I mean… everyone else is just working like normal. Even mom’s getting back to her research she and dad were working on. Everyone’s stopped talking about dad. It’s like her never existed. Did they… forget about him or something? I mean… I’m still sad about him. I just… Wanna see dad.”
I knew what she meant. About everyone being different than usual. That they stopped talking about father as if he never existed. It was almost frightening how fast they moved on. But even so, seeing Lillie the way she was. It made me feel as though I was just like everyone else. That I moved on. But I was far from the point of moving on. I wanted to know what happened to him. I wanted to know why he disappeared. What caused his disappearance. I wanted answers more than anything.
“You’re not the only one. I miss him too…”
 “R-Really?”
“When I heard Faba and Wicke talking, I didn’t know what to think. I thought they were just kidding at first. I looked everywhere for him, but I couldn’t find him. I even asked mom if she knew where he went. But she didn’t answer me.”
 “Oh…”
“But maybe… If he’s still here in Alola. Then maybe we can look for him on the islands. Like, maybe he could be waiting for us somewhere.”
 “But where?”
“Hmm… maybe… I know! Do you know that place where you and mom went to? Where you two danced in the rain?”
 “You mean near Po Town?”
“He could be waiting there! But we won’t know unless we look for him there!”
“But… is it really okay for us to leave? To look for him out there all by ourselves? Shouldn’t we at least tell mom where we’ll be going?”
“We can’t tell anyone about this! Especially mom!”
 “Uhh… I don’t know…”
“Wicke! What is the meaning of this!? Why in Arceus’ name are they doing in the observatory?!”
“What’s so bad about us being here?”
“Get out! Don’t think the both of you could do things as you please just because you’re the president’s children. I’ll be reporting this to Lusamine at once!”
“Faba that’s enough! They’re just children!”
 “Let’s go, Lillie.”
 “But where?”
“Doesn’t matter. Anywhere else but here.”
After that, Lillie and I walked out of the Observatory and back to the mansion where we lived. It was always like this. We would be scolded for playing around in the observatory with the other Pokemon. And we would be scolded more for asking questions about dad.
When I had enough of being isolated in this island, I would sneak onto a ferry while everyone was asleep. And only those who worked at night were wide awake, I would sneak into one of the ferries and go to either Ula’Ula Island or Akala Island to look around town every now and again. I would learn more about Pokémon and Trainers who battled along side them. How strong and resilient they were into proving who was the strongest among each other. That was what gave me hope back then. I even met one of those trainers who came all the way from Unova when we were on the main islands. He gave me a hoodie that was still too big for me back then and a Premier Ball, saying that that was my ticket to becoming a trainer. I kept the Poke ball in my room, but always put on the hoodie when I would be outside.
It didn’t matter where I went just as long it was anywhere but that island. Even if it was just a couple Pokémon battles on the street or I somehow scraped some cash to get a ticket for a battle royale at Royale Avenue and make and quickly make my way back onto a ferry toward Aether Paradise. But that night. That night was different.
“Stop causing me trouble you little wretch!”
 “Grrr… Grrr Rrrrr”
“Woah… is that… A girl? But why does she have…”
The girl struggled as a line of employees different from the ones in Aether Paradise blocked her path while a man was pulling her toward another ferry. Before I knew it, I needed to make my way home before anyone else knew that I was gone. But when I snuck into the ferry that lead to Aether Paradise, all the people from moments ago started boarding. I remember thinking that that was the ferry I was stowed away in was the wrong one. It was hard to tell whether I was boarding on the right one or not until the announcement would confirm the destination. I remember peaking from the cabin that I was in and seeing the girl struggling with that same man from before, who looked to have taken something of hers.
I remember seeing her face that first time. Her hair was as white as the feathers on a Pelipper, slightly covering her clouded blue eyes and her ears… However, her hair failed to cover what looked to be a set of horns just above her ears. She wore a tattered black cloak to cover her seemingly tiny frame. When I tried getting an even closer look at her, I noticed her hands were as black as the cloak she wore, if not darker and resembled sharp claws. By the time she got the item back, she curled herself into a ball and looked away from the man as he laughed and kicked her down. I noticed her looking up to my direction. I didn’t know what to do, so all I did was wave. I was too enamored by the girl to even be angry at the man who bullied her. The way she covered her mouth and smiled with her eyes as I held my finger to my mouth was kind of adorable back then… But at that moment I found it simply beautiful. It was almost like my heart was set aflame with every second my eyes stared down at her as we floated atop the dark brooding sea dimly lit by the moonlight.
I remember talking about her to Lillie the next day. About the girl with the horns. She didn’t believe me the first time and thought I was just making it all up. For a moment I thought it was all a dream. That I dreamt her up. That was until I realized something. That she was in the ferry from last night. So I decided to take Lillie with me and look for the girl. We had no idea where she would be. But decided to look in the secret labs a few floors down.
“She can’t be real, Gladion. People don’t have horns growing from their heads. And dark black claws or whatever.”
“She IS real! I saw her in the ferry on the way here! She’s got to be in here somewhere! And I’m gonna look down at the labs and find her!”
 “But-“
 *crash*
“Wh-What was that?! Gladion? Where are you going?!”
Running to the elevator and down to the labs, I tried finding the source to that loud bang. A little after that, I heard piercing screams of pain coming to a crescendo as I ran straight down the hallway to my left. By the time I got there, I looked out the window and saw the girl. She looked to be limp on the floor as Faba and a woman with black hair stood proudly as Faba’s Alakazam attacked her with what looked to be the Psychic move Psyshock as she tried to get up again, only for her to scream in pain as it was too much for her to bare. I stepped back in horror asking myself why they were doing this to her even though she had no way of fighting back. What were they trying to achieve in inflicting pain on her? What did they want from that girl? And why was she treated the way she was?
“What are you doing here, Gladion?”
Turning, I look up to see my mother with a blank look on her face. I looked back at the room where the girl was and back to my mother.
“Why is she being attacked like that?! Why are they just-“
“That’s none of your concern. You’re not even suppose to be here, Gladion-“
“Is this what you were working on since dad disappeared? Were you hurting people like her? Were you hurting the Pokemon?-“
“BE QUIET! I’VE HAD ENOUGH JUST BE QUIET!!”
 “M-Mom… I just…”
“How do you even know that that’s a girl… Gladion have you been sneaking off? You shouldn’t be roaming around the foundation nor outside this island like that.”
 “But what about Dad-“
“Stay in the mansion. That way you won’t mess up anything. Just like the horrible mistake you are…”
 “…”
After that, I stopped asking her anymore questions. All I did was quietly walk back to the elevator and waited in my room until night had fallen. Until no one was around the mansion or anywhere in the foundation to make my move. When I looked outside, I saw the man dragging the girl by her hood to the residential quarters across the mansion. When the man entered the building, I ran downstairs and tried to run outside. But as I was doing so, I heard the main door open and hid quickly along the stairs. From the sound of the talking, it was mother and that woman with Faba. It sounded like they were talking about us; Myself, Lillie, and the girl.
“I must say old friend, you have truly outdone yourself in finding the Prism Pokemon on your last trip here. Much less sealing it in one of its’ own Z Crystals.”
“It was a lot of challenging work, but it seems as though this one might be just the one we’re looking for. A Trainer fused with a legendary Pokemon. One that Strella will call their secret weapon upon Ultra Space. That way, once we get our hands on that world, then the Ultra Beasts will be all ours, Lusamine.”
“I’m not too keen on the idea of using children for research. Especially with how Strella had nearly fallen when you did such an experiment like this. Tell me, how did THAT go for you?”
“Oh, Lusamine. You’re so hung up on the past. I guess Mohn’s death really did do a number on you, you unfortunate thing… Come! Let us look forward to the future we have together in taking over that world. with Luma as our primary pawn, we’d practically have a part of both worlds at the palms of our hands. Besides, you have a collection to fill up, no?”
 “Indeed I do…”
I didn’t know what they meant back then, but that didn’t really matter to me now, what mattered to me was if that girl was alright. I opened the door as quickly as my arms could let me and ran to the residential quarters. Before I could get anywhere near it however, I waited until that man wasn’t anywhere near that building. It wasn’t too long until I noticed him walking out of the door with a bit of blood on his hands. It made me enraged. Even more so when he smiled at the sight of it clinging onto his hands as he went towards the mansion. But that anger grew to concern as I ran into the building and looked to see two rows of doors facing toward one another. I didn’t know which door she was behind, or if there were more like these ones. That was until I heard weeping.
It was quiet. Barely audible. But even so, I followed the sound straight ahead as I put on the sweatshirt and followed the sound. But each time I thought I felt like it was getting louder, I felt like I was getting colder than I did before. My footsteps weren’t doing anything more than just creating more sound that would drown out the crying. When I heard the weeping get closer however, I felt like she was able to hear me from her room and continued to silence herself. In a fit of desperation, I took a deep breath and spoke softly, but tried to make it audible for her to hear.
“Please tell me where you are.”
For a moment there was silence. I waited patiently until I could hear her. But instead of her voice, I heard knocking. Knocking that got louder and louder as I got up and searched for the right door. It was a tough search, but I found where the knocking might’ve been coming from. As I knocked back on the door in front of me, the knocking ceased and all I heard was a growl coming from the other side.
At that time, I never understood anything. That everything that happened here was for some special reason. That everything that happened to this girl was for a purpose that we had no idea would come to be something that we could barely understand even as we got older. But even so…
“I need you to get away from the door,” I spoke as I tried to open it, but to no avail. I wasn’t strong enough to break the lock. Nor did I even know that the door was locked to begin with. After a while, I saw the knob moving on its’ own thinking the girl behind it was trying to escape. But it didn’t do anything aside from wasting valuable time. There was nothing we could do. It was then that I realized that there had to have been a window somewhere in the building leading to her room. That although it would make a lot of noise, I would at least get her out of there. But as I was about to head out the door…
“What is that? Something’s shining over there…”
Upon closer inspection, the object on the ground appeared to have been a key. A key with a small label on it. but as I looked at the contents sprawled onto the paper, it turned to be a note.
 ‘This will make things easier…’
There was no recipient. Nor could I recognize the handwriting. But instead of inspecting the contents of the key, I got up from the ground and returned to the door. When I got there, I knocked on the door and heard a small growl coming from the other side.
“I’m coming in. Get away from the door.”
Inserting the key in the doorknob, I turned it slowly and heard a succession of clicks. When it was unlocked, I turned the knob of the door slowly. There, I saw the girl curled up at the wall across the door, growling escaping her mouth. It was obvious that she was scared. I was too. But not because of her appearance. Because I didn’t want her to fear me. Because I wanted her to be free. So I held out my hand and stayed by the door.
“It’s okay I won’t hurt you. I can get you out of here. So take my hand.”
In the end, she uncovered her face and stared at me. I felt a stream of tears escaping my face as I held my hand out to her. She slowly yet surely approached me as she held out her hand and gently placed it onto mine. I remembered her hand being much smaller than mine. I pulled her out of the room and saw her face in its entirety. Her teeth had fangs that were as black as her hands which were coveted in wounds. Flinching, she turned her face away from me and let out a small growl.
“Endure it okay? We just need to get you out of here.”
All my fears for being caught were turned into nothing but a distant memory as I ran with her in tow to the outside. But waiting for us was-
“Heh. Didn’t think you had balls, kid. I’m impressed.”
 “You!”
That man had waited for me. Waited until I freed her to catch me. I couldn’t tell if he was smart or if I was just stupid for buying into that key. But I assume the latter before the former.
“I’m gonna need you to return that thing to me now and crawl back to your room, kid. Besides, shouldn’t kids like you be scared of the monsters that hide under your bed? Much less ones locked up
 “Grrr…”
“You’re the real monster here. She might look like one, but she’s just as human as anyone else.”
The man just laughed at my statement as if it was some cruel joke. And he kept laughing until he looked to the direction of the mansion.
“Hahahaha! You hear this my lady?! Th-This kid here just called me a monster! For a kid of supposed geniuses, he’s an idiot for telling someone he’s a monster when he’s holding the claw of the real thing! Hahahah!”
“It is quite amusing… Isn’t it? Lusamine?”
Mother… She stood watching in anger as she saw me holding her hand. The way she looked down on us as I stood in front of the girl with my arms spread out.
“Have you gone insane, Gladion? Taking someone’s research like that. You might as well be taking their own child.”
“Then why was she locked up in that room if she’s supposed to be her mother, huh!? Either way, I’m not letting you hurt her anymore!”
“Tch! How dare you talk to her that way, huh kid?! Just who the hell do you think you are? You’re nothing!”
  Luma’s POV
This was one of the first instances I had in the outside world. The moon shining from above. The echoing of the sea. The breeze blowing my hair away. I was scared and didn’t know what was going on. And why that boy wanted to protect me so badly. In a fit of fear, I felt my power rising from within me as I wanted to fulfill this boy’s wish and keep him from harm’s way. When I did, it was all such a blur as I felt myself soaring through the skies with the boy in my hands. He sounded like he was in fear as I flew higher and higher into the sky and away from this prison. I didn’t know where to go. Just any place far from here. Anywhere where my wings could carry us.
That was where my first experience outside began. We landed in a spot filled with trees, plants, and various Pokemon I never knew existed. It was all so green and humid that I ended up getting tired as my wings couldn’t carry the two of us anymore.
 “Haaaah… Ugh... Ahh?”
I couldn’t really form many words after my transformation. And I almost felt like I was getting dumber and dumber as my power increased. Almost as if I was devolving than I was evolving. Back then, I didn’t know he lost consciousness from the shock of the flight. I figured he was hungry. But everything around me was unfamiliar as I had no idea how to tell what food was and what wasn’t. I growled at the slightest sounds created by the calls of Pokemon out of caution. But then I saw a miniature swarm of Ribombee approaching us. Of course, because I too was hungry, I decided to let my primal instincts take over and hunt the creatures. I managed to catch one and held it in my claws as it chirped in fear and confusion. But I didn’t care as I stuffed the Bee Fly Pokemon in my mouth, not paying heed to the rustling of the boy waking up as I tasted the bug. I turned to the sight of the rustling and saw the boy getting up and look at me in shock as the Ribombee was hanging from my mouth.
“Wha? What are you eating?!” he yelled in a fast manner as he ran toward me. But it was too late as I inhaled the innocent Bee Fly into my mouth. He just looked at me in a daze and got closer to me, reaching his hand toward me.
“No, wait! Spit it out. That’s not food.”
The way he held his hands to me had triggered my defenses and I ended up biting his wrist, releasing the Ribombee in the process. He yelped in pain as my teeth seeped through his skin, but instead of crying or yelling in pain, I remembered he stroked the top of my head, petting me softly that I ended up loosening my grip on him, not understanding what I had just done. Thinking back from then, that maybe why his hand was shaking like that.
“Jeez! I was only trying to help!”
 “Haugh…? Uh…”
“Wait… Can you not understand what I’m saying?”
 “Ah.”
“Well… I’m Gladion. Can you at least tell me your name?”
 “Mmm…”
“*Sigh*… Maybe you have something written on your clothes? Maybe that bracelet? Lemme see your hand for a second.”
I flinched as he grabbed my hand but grew a bit curious as he examined my hand. But alas didn’t find what he was looking for. So, he decided to look at my feet and at a bangle that hung around the ankle of my leg and carefully examined the contents, reading them allowed as he did.
“Luminaria Moon? It’s a pretty name, but it’s kind of a mouthful… Maybe we can come up with a nickname?”
 “Hah?”
“Hmm… Luma maybe? Man this is difficult… I’ve never been good with nicknames… even with a Pokemon that I met recently at Aether I only ever call it Null.”
 “Ah!”
 “Hey what’s up?”
 “Uuu… Ah.”
“Wait are you trying to say something?”
 “Ooo… Ma… Lu! Ma!”
 “…Alright. I got it. Let’s go, Luma.”
 “Ah.”
I also remembered being a fast learner. The first thing I had learned was my name… Luma. And eventually, I was able to form certain words with every second I spent with him. Eventually I learned about various Pokemon and ways to survive in the wild, albeit our knowledge was limited. One moment I remembered was when we sat near a meadow filled with red flowers and various Pokemon trainers on their way to becoming Island Challenge Champions. And Gladion had just returned from getting snacks from a Pokemon Center nearby.
 “Here you go.”
 “Huh?”
“It’s a Sweet Heart. Give it a try.”
Taking a weary bite, my expression changed from uncertainty to that of pure joy as I let out a cheery screech, but keeping my mouth closed to keep the rich chocolate in my mouth as my legs kicked for joy. Gladion laughed as he watched me eat the treat. Yet for some reason, I felt the need to show my gratitude by showing one of the last things that was given to me by the visitor; the picture book. I took the picture book from my hood and tugged at the sleeve of his shirt.
 “What’s the matter?”
 “L-Look.”
“You had that with you this whole time?”
 “Look!”
“Is it okay for me to look at it?”
 “Yeah.”
“Alright then. Let’s see here… ‘The Beast and the Prince?’. Sounds kind of cheesy… But when you got nothing to do but run.”
  Gladion’s POV
The pictures burst from the page as I opened to the first page, pulling me in instantly. I always wondered how the pages, although kept in her hood all this time, were never crumbled nor worn. The book looked as though it was barely checked out from the library.
“These pages are pretty. Let’s see here… ‘in the deepest, darkest part of the forest lived a tribe hidden from all. They had large wings on their backs and although considered beasts among all, were considered beautiful creatures. Among them was their princess who had ashen wings-“
I was interrupted with the sudden footsteps and conversations of several Aether and Strella employees in search of us. But mostly Luma. As for me…
“Don’t worry. Maybe if we just-“
“What about Gladion? What do we do about him?”
“Our priority is the beast. If he gets in the way, we have no choice but to take him down.”
I remembered embracing Luma and keeping her close to me as I found out what they would do to me if I were to resist. I never knew if it was out of fear for myself. Or for her. But even so, I felt the need to protect her.
We waited as they got away from our sights and far from the area we were in. As we ran, I kept recalling the story that we read along each stop we took and the sad ending that took place. The Princess grew to love the Prince and consulted a witch for her to become human, knowing that a beast and a human could never be together. The Witch complied and took her wings. But warned the Princess that she would one day become an even fiercer demon than she was already considered and consume the prince’s life. They eventually fell in love with one another and married. Promising themselves to one another. But the princess’ happiness didn’t last as she turned into a beast with wings as black as tar. In exchange for her humanity, the princess had to kill the Prince, the person she loved most, to be free from her curse and return to the person she originally was. In the end, she couldn’t do it, and flew far from the prince as far as her wings could take her, never to see the prince again, much to his grief.
For some reason, that story was one of the only things I could think about as we hid and ran from the employees. Were we just like the people from the story? Were we supposed to be kept apart? Even as we decided to walk in the empty halls of the Lake of the Sunne, that story remained in my mind.
 “Oof!”
“Hey! Are you okay? Guess we were walking quite a bit, huh?”
 “Am I… a Beast?”
 “What?”
 “I… I’m not… Human. I-I think… I hurt.”
“Don’t say anything like that! You were made to be a guinea pig to those people!”
 “B-“
“They’re the one’s who are the monsters. You’re just as human as anyone else, Luma!”
  Luma’s POV
Tears streamed down my face as soon as I heard those words. That I was human… That I was more human than anyone else. The one thing I was never able to learn was affection toward another. And at that moment, I learned it from him as I jumped into his arms despite the scratches and wilts on my legs. Those tears were filled to the brim with joy as those words echoed in my head as he hugged me with what felt like a smile on his face.
“Let’s go far away from here, Luma. And we can always be together.”
 “Together?”
“Yeah. We can go somewhere where no one can hurt you, where we won’t be ignored, and there will be a lot of Pokemon. And we get older, we can train together, and get stronger! And then… I can always be there by your side… Just like that story. But with a happy ending. One where nothing can drive us apart.”
 “Then… You’re my prince?”
The way I worded seemed to have made his face bright red. Thinking back I never really considered his feelings aside from flying him away from that island. Even as his face heated up and as he stumbled in this words, he grabbed both my hands and looked me in the eyes.
“O-Of course! I’ll always be there for you, Luma. Just don’t leave me.”
 “O-Okay…”
I wanted us to keep true to our promise. I wanted us to be together and do all that he just said. Deep down, I wanted us to be together… But as those people from both the foundation and the corporation came in… That vision for the both of us… It all came crashing down.
Why… Why did all of this have to happen? Why couldn’t everything be like it was before the fall? Before all the tests? Before Necrozma was found? Before…
  Gladion’s POV
Why? Why did all of this had to happen? When did this all start? After Dad disappeared? After Mom began to lose it? When Lillie started crying? When? When did this happen?! When did I decide to finally run… When they took us away? When mom created Type:Null and obtained Cosmog? When they erased our memories? Luma… Why were they treating you like a monster? Why were you so different from the rest of humanity? What I felt for you back then… was it remorse? Pity? No… It was far beyond those things… When I heard her shouting my name as we were dragged back into Aether Foundation.
I feel… So stupid for forgetting that day. Did she always know of this? Or was I… Just that foolish…
     EPILOGUE (Three Years Later)
 “You’re Luma?”
 “Uhh… Who wants to know?”
“Hmm… You have enough sense to be wary. Not bad…”
 “J-Just who are you?”
“I’m Gladion. I battle for my partner Null to make it strong… Though most of our time gets used up doing small jobs for Team Skull… Now battle me. I won’t take no for an answer… Hmm?”
The girl felt a sudden stream of tears cascading on her face. Her face a blank stare toward the Enforcer who stood in her way as she wondered why her feelings felt like such a mess.
“Luma? Why are you crying?” Hau asked from the sidelines as Luma had snapped out of her daze, wiped her tears and pulled a Pokeball from her bag, all shielding the truth with a smirk and seemingly determined eyes.
“Well… You could say I’m crying… For how badly I’m going to defeat this guy!”
“We’ll see who will be the one crying when I’m through with you!” The Enforcer shouted as the two of them commenced their battle. One filled with conflicted feelings. And one filled with determination for getting stronger.

Later that week, Lady Maya spend the day in Twilight's castle to help organize books at her library section. "Master Maya?" Starlight getting Maya's attention. "Maya is fine Starlight. You don't have to call me Master." "Sorry, about that. I just gotten use to calling you that." Starlight responded. "I like to learn more about your past life if you have the time to talk." "And what do you want to know about my previous life as a Deity Starlight?" Maya asked. "To be honest, I don't really have much memories of that life, but I did found a lot of documents about my time here as a Deity. It seems she has made a significant influence in Equestria..." "I know that for sure Master," Starlight's interrupts "It's the other past life to want to talk to you about. I want to know more about the previous King of Forfedre." Maya respond. "I'm sorry Starlight, but I don't know what you're talking about." "I understand you would make a response like that Master." Starlight answer to Maya's reflective response. "I been studying the history of Forfedre and about the King name Axel Doi. The historical document says that he was a cruel king that reign over Forfedre for over 600 years. During the time of his rule he conquered hundreds of nations leaving almost no one alive. He eventually turn into a demon approximately fifteen years during has reign..." Maya asked Starlight. "Why Starlight... Why ask me about him now? Why would I want to know anything about him?" "I think you know more what happen to Axel than you want me to believe." Starlight imply. "I've seen a part of your memories when we first fought each other. Axel was last seen fighting against your country. What happen between you and Axel Master...?" "Enough Starlight!" Maya Shouted. There was a moment of silence for awhile then Maya speaks again. "What is there to more about him Starlight? He was a monster that slaughter so many innocent people. There is no reason for what he did, so why you have any interest about him?" Maya excused herself and left the library. "Master wait!" Starlight shouted, but Maya was gone. It wasn't until later that night that Starlight find Maya sitting on the rooftop of the castle staring at the moon. Starlight ask if it's okay that she can sit next to Maya for awhile and she agrees. "I'm sorry I brought up that painful past Master." Starlight explains. "You said to me when we fought that if we had a second chance to be friends you would tell me more about your memories. I think we're close enough that you can speak to me about anything. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but it would help me to understand your side of the story." Maya begin to speak. "My... Life wasn't suppose to be like this. I always wanted to be a benevolent king but my subjects never truly accepted me as their ruler. I was never respected no matter what I do ever since I was a peasant child. I had to work hard and killed many soldiers just to get my foot in to the royal guard." Maya explains Axel's entire story of his life as though she was Axel. "So this what lead to your downfall this entire time Master?" Starlight asked "I don't know it's most likely due to my own paranoia that I developed when I grew up and when I was at war, but I never got over the rejections. That was one of the reason I seek the Empress Deity of the Eastern Republic. With her help, I believed I can being the faith to my subjects and change the troubled reputation I was gaining in my country, and I finally have the Queen I always wanted ever since I first saw her, but even she rejected me. That broke me more then anything I went through and there was no turning back after that. What ended up happening that terrible day is that I was fused with Maya and I posses her body. The little unicorn that's with me has the Deity's spirit inside of her. I can't go back to neither of our homeland because there may be those who want to exact their revenge on us. For the time being, Equestria is the only place I can called home now." Starlight ask Maya "Master, are you Axel Doi? Do you still believe that you are him?" "Maya answered "To be honest Starlight, I don't even know anymore. I still have the memories of Axel, but I slowly losing that identity when I start living my life as Maya. I actually have a lot more love and happiness that I ever had when I was a king, I even manage to have a family all things consider, of course it ended up turning me in to an Equestrian Unicorn, but I was happy; however, there always a part of me asking myself if I was able to make all these friends and love ones, because of who I really am or is it because of the influence that Lady Maya Matsui made in this Country. Regardless, I wanted to do what ever it takes to return that love that was given to me anyway I can." "I see..." Starlight intrigued by Maya response. "So this is why you agree to be Twilight's Duchess. You really wanted to help other to find their happiness and to atone for what happened to you when you were a king." "It's not going to change what happened in the past," Maya explain "but if I can prevent some else go through that situation like I did then it will be worth for me." Starlight hugs Maya gently. "You already have Master. Both you, Twilight, and all the others have giving me a chance. I was able to make amends for the people I hurt and leave that dark past for a brighter future. All of you teach me the value of friendship and I'm as happy as I every been before. To be honest, I never really got into the story about Maya Matsui, but your story about Axel Doi did stuck a nerve with me. I could related to you in this way and I understand how you feel. If Princess Twilight and her friends didn't find me that day, my path could of ended up like Axel's. So thank you Master. Thank you for opening your true self to me, and help me get a second chance in life." "I didn't do that to her Starlight." Maya response. "You did all the work yourself, you manage to become a success by opening your heart despite the fear of being rejected. You came along way from the Equestrian you use to be. All we did was guided you where to go." Starlight: "Nonetheless, I feel when became even closer because of this." Maya: "I feel the same way. I'm pretty glad that I didn't devour you that day..." Starlight: "Yeah, but you did take my virginity through my Anthro, *chuckle* Maya: "Yeah sorry about that, but debts have to be payed for missing a rehearsal. Both Maya and Starlight Laughs and continue flirting. Maya: "You know Starlight, You're going to end up falling in love with me unless you find someone else you're interest in, but before that happened, can we just hangout as friends for awhile?" Starlight: "I'm fine with that Master." Maya: "Good we'll start on that tomorrow. In the meantime, I would like it if you spend the night in my room with me." Starlight: "Sure thing thing. I'll keep you company tonight." Twilight watches the two of them on the roof. "Congratulations Starlight, you complete the assignment with Maya. I'm so proud of you." Twilight said to herself smiling with tears in her eyes as she walk back into her castle leaving the two of them alone. New found Love (Starlight Glimmer meets Trixie Lulamoon) After completing her assignment with Maya, Twilight gave Starlight a new assignment of finding a new friend of her own. Starlight told Twilight that she was contempt with her friends and Lady Maya but Twilight says that it would be best for her to get to know some Equestrians in the town. Twilight told Starlight she is positive that she can find at least one friend if she tries, and besides Lady Maya is going on tour very soon so she won't be able to play with her while she's gone. So for early on throughout the day, Starlight try to make some new friends by participating in several activities with them but rounding up massing up one way or the other. After a long day of failing to reach out to other Equestrians, Starlight became exhausted and decide to take a relaxing break at the Blossom's Beauty and Spa. While resting at the spa, Starlight is pounding about what she going to tell Twilight about her assignment when she heard another Equestrian was having a conversation to herself. When she turn around from her chair, Starlight discovered a beautiful light blue and white hair Equestrian wearing a face mask. "I guess it as long day for as well." Starlight starts the conversation. "That's putting it lightly surly." The Equestrian Lady reply. "It's been quite difficult to found a decent assistant for my show anymore, especially since my last show. I haven't talked to my last assistant since then." "Your a performer?" Starlight asked "Why yes I am. I am a traveling Magician as a matter of fact." Answered the Lady "A...Magician?" Starlight asked curiously. "Isn't most if not all of the unicorn and alicorn Equestrian can do magic?" "Ah! But I'm an illusionist you know!" The Lady corrected Starlight. "In fact,I'm the most well-known Illusionist of all of Equestria. I'm even was trained by one of the Goddess, so my Illusion magic is second to none." "Wow. That's kid of interesting to here." Said Starlight. "I'm actually want to see one of your tricks one day." The Young Lady gives Starlight an offer. "You know there's still an opening for an assistant if you like to see my performance in person. I can really use the help." "Absolutely! I would love to see one of you performance up close! I'm Starlight Glimmer by the way." The Lady gives a dramatic introduction. "I am 'The Great and Powerful Trixie!' Illusionist Extraordinaire!" The Spa workers and the clients stares at Trixie. "Ahem... My name is Trixie Lulamoon. It's a pleasure to meet you." The two of them shake hands and have a conversation with each other for the rest of the time at the spa Several days have past since Starlight met Trixie, Princess Twilight stop by Starlight's room to see hows thing's going in finding a new friend. Starlight was eager to tell her she found a lovely Equestrian Mare that she became friends with and they really hit it off. Starlight told Twilight that she's been helping her on her shows. Twilight was delighted to hear that Starlight finally made a new friend on her own and ask if she can meet her new friend. Starlight agrees to let Twilight meet her and send Trixie and invitation text to visit the castle. Later in the Evening, Princess Twilight prepares a small welcoming party for Starlight's new friend. Starlight enters the castle and introduce Twilight to her new friend. "It's been a while Princess Twilight..." A familiar voice shocks Twilight. "I'm so happy that I get to see you again. I haven't stop thinking about you ever since that night... " "Tr...Trixie!?" Twilight startled "The one and only My Princess!" Trixie run towards Twilight and give her a big hug. "Twilight Sparkle! I miss so much it feels like forever since I got close to you like this..." Starlight is in complete shock to see Trixie embracing Twilight like she found her lost love. "Wait, the two of you have already met!?" "Well, yes we did." Twilight answered. "We've know each other for quite a long time. Trixie kind of made a few trouble in Ponyville, from creating an avoidable disaster, Using an ancient artifact to enslave most of the Equestrians in the city, and releasing Lady Maya's spell on her pony and turn her Anthro so she can wreak havoc on her stage and duel against her Counterpart at the time that she was Trixie's assistant." "So wait." Starlight gathering the information. "Lady Maya was Trixie's last assistant! And she did all that stuff in Ponyville!? And you hugging her like she was you long lost sister!?" Twilight responds "Yeah, it was quite the turmoil, but I have already forgiven her a long ago ever since that night." Trixie: "We had an orgy!" Twilight: Yes, we had an orgy!" "So let me guess Master Maya was the cause of that too?" Starlight asked. "Yes very likely." Twilight answered. "Master Maya? Maya! Where is she!! I want to see her too!!" Shouted Trixie "She on a tour right now Trixie." Twilight answered "She won't be back for several months." Starlight reacted to the startling revelation. "Well, this is a small world after all. I really didn't see this coming. So I guess I didn't pass this assignment." "No Starlight you pass this with flying colors!" Twilight respond. "I never told you about my relationship with Trixie, so you couldn't possibly know anything about this, which makes her a complete stranger to you. And the two of you seem to get along so well with each other to the point were you feel comfortable enough to invite her here for me to see her. The did an excellent job my student." "So, Starlight is your new protege Twilight." Trixie said. "You really came a long way in make new friends dear Princess." Twilight excused herself to Trixie so she can talk to Starlight for a little while. "Listen, Starlight." Twilight whisper to Starlight's ear. "I'm happy that Trixie finally have a friend with you, but don't let Maya know about Trixie just yet." Starlight asked why. "The two of them wasn't in good terms while Maya was her assistant. At some cases, Maya looked traumatize while working with Trixie. Not that Trixie did anything malicious to her, but the chemistry between them was abnormal from the rest of us. If your relationship with Trixie grew strong enough for Maya to overlook what happened to her while she was her assistant then you can give it a shot letting Trixie see Maya again." "Alright Twilight." Starlight respond. "Thank you for the heads up." "Trixie!" Twilight shouted "Make yourself at home, I have refreshment coming soon I know the two of you have a lot to talk about!" As time passes Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon Traveled together and performed their magic together. Starlight became the assistant that Trixie always wanted. Both of them enjoyed there time together, each of the shared both of their pass, and found a kinder spirit between them. Since both of them had a troubled past in which they both find something that change their prospective in life. Starlight talks about how Twilight and Maya helped her change and Trixie confess to Starlight that her life haven't really started to change for the better until the two of them met. Starlight was surprise to hear that after spending all that time with Lady Maya. Trixie told Starlight that while Trixie did had Maya as her assistant the two of them didn't really connect with each other other than a physical attraction. After everything she part her and her friends to, Maya couldn't open up to Trixie the way she wanted. Trixie tells Starlight to she was the first true friend she made and generally helped her to relaunch her career, and doesn't mind if they can move their relationship even further then friendship. Starlight blushes about Trixie confession but was more than happy to accept her offer afterwards. Since that day the two of them became lovers enjoying each time they spent together. After months have pass Starlight is confident enough that she is read to bring Trixie to see Maya to get their blessing. The Not-So-Happy Reunion of Trixie's Former Great and Powerful Assistant (Confronting Maya) Lady Maya came back from her tour with Vinyl Scratch, and is at her home that she share's with Rarity and her Sister Mako. After resting on the bed with her pony sleeping on top of her, Maya receives a call from Starlight and ask if she can see her in Twilight's Castle if she get a chance. Maya ask Starlight to give her a few days to rest up and she will visit Starlight in her office there. Several days later Later Maya returned to her office at the castle to organized the next week's schedule. "Master? Are you there." Starlight knocks on the door calling Maya. "Yes Starlight, I'm here is there anything you like to speak to me about?" Starlight opens the door and enter Maya's office. "Master, I have some good news to share to you." "Really." Maya is intrigued by Starlight's statement. "Pleases continue." Starlight: "I found someone special while you are gone on you're tour." Maya: "We'll that's wonderful news to hear Starlight. Since you went out your way to tell me means to this relationship with this special someone is must gone far beyond friendship hasn't it. That's really is good news to hear Starlight. At least I know you're going to be alright and I don't have to add another Equestrian in my group." Lady Maya sits down on her desk with the big smile on her face. "So, Starlight. Who is this Special Someone this lucky enough to steal you away from me?" Starlight spoke up with some hesitation. "Well. that's a thing Master... I think you already have met her before..." Trixie walks in to the office and greet Maya. "Lady Maya my dear, It's been such a long time since I've last seen you. You're more beautiful then I remember you. I miss you so much my Lady." Maya has frozen with the smile on her face the moment she saw Trixie, but feels a deep shocking pain from the inside. After awhile of silence with that same smile on her face, Maya asked. "Starlight dear... Why is that monster standing beside you...?" Starlight: "Now please wait Master. let me explain... She not really a bad person at all. I know you have you're difference with her, but I know we can settle this without any bloodshed." "Now now, Starlight honey." Trixie interrupts Starlight's pleading for mercy." Lady Maya and I go a long way from here. I can calm her down with ease because both of us can relate to each other. I'm sure by now Lady Maya knows how much I love her, am I right Aphrodite?" The Moment Maya heard Trixie's voice hear mind completely snap and she launches out of her chair and jumped over her desk charging towards Trixie. "LULAMOOOON!!!" Maya Shouted and grabs Trixie by her neck with her right hand and lift her from the ground and use her Magic to barricade the entrance and the Ponies so no one can stop her. "MASTER STOP!!" Starlight Pleaded trying to stop Maya her magic but was blocked by Maya's Crystals! Maya: "WHY DID YOU CAME BACK!!??" "NEVER WANTED TO SEE YOU AGAIN AFTER WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!!" "But why my Lady?" Trixie speaking to Maya while being choked. "I thought we had something special after everything we been though and especially that night..." Maya: " YOU ALMOST GOT ME PREGNANT YOU BITCH!!!" Trixie: "I'm sorry about that... I couldn't help myself when it comes to you... I wish you could of see yourself when we made love...You can make the most innocent face I ever seen... *cough* You looked so sweet and vulnerable,  and you make the softest sounds.... I was so happy that I can make "The Deity of Passion" look the way that you do... It must been the same way when you slept with Fluttershy wasn't" Maya: "YOU PSYCHOTIC SHIT!!! YOU CALLED WHAT YOU DID MAKING LOVE!!! YOU'RE MORE DELUSIONAL TO EVEN BE REAL!!! I GOING MAKE SURE I HEARD SOMETHING SNAP SOON!!!" Starlight: "MASTER PLEASE!! YOU KILLING HER!! DON'T DO THIS!!! DON'T REVERT BACK INTO A DEMON!!!" For a moment of clarity, Maya toss Trixie to the wall and released all the barricades. Starlight ran to Trixie to tend to her wounds. Maya knell down completely in shock and her hands was trembling. "Starlight." Maya begins to speak. "After you're done taking care of your... 'Girlfriend...' Meet me at my chamber. We need to talk..." Maya stood up and left the office. Twilight asked what happened at the office, but Maya was unresponsive a walk past Twilight to her room. For a glimpse, Twilight saw nothing but emptiness in Maya's eyes. "So she saw Trixie, didn't she." Twilight guess to herself. After a couple hours past, Starlight enter Maya's room. Maya was still trembling from what happened. "Of all the Equestrian and human living in Equestria, why did it have to be Trixie Lulamoon?" Starlight asked Maya. "Why did you do that to her Master? Whatever harm that she did to this town and Twilight, it was called for at all. You've could of killed her." "I attended to Starlight." Maya replied. "I know we've done far worst in our past than what Trixie did. I don't care about any of that... Did she told you anything about our relationship while I was force to became Trixie's assistant? What I have to put up with every time we were finished after the show?" "Yes." Starlight respond. "I have herd that the two of you were intimate out of convenience. It was something you had to do to help Trixie no to go mad." "Yeah I wish that was just it." Maya continued "I refused to do that at first. I was already repulse by her for harm my friends and town. I needed a lot more time with her if I was going to have to befriend her, but she somehow knew who I am and both of my past lives, and she knew about my powers and what I have to do to even function. She took advantage to my own weakness an order to get me to submit to her and abandon my life I worked to maintain for years. On top over that she did the most vulgar things to me end order to seduce me until I was left with no choice but to give in. And then just get's worse from there every night. Clearly the Trixie you grew to love isn't the one that I had to put up with. I have the ability to release one potential so that can find true satisfaction of what they are passionate about, but the same passion will eventually gear towards me. At some cases it would be for the better, and other it will end up corrupting them. Trixie is the latter. If you had the ability to correct my mistakes with Trixie Starlight, then you are much more valuable to me then you can possibly imagine." Maya gets up from the bed and head to the office." "Where are you going Master?" Starlight asked. Maya respond, "I need to make amends for my behavior. I'm fine now Starlight." Lady Maya head back to her office where Trixie is sitting on the chair. Maya knell down and made a formal bow. "On the behave of 'Twilight's Castle' and to 'The Princess of Friendship' herself I sincerely apologize for my actions. I acted in raw emotions and I cause you harm. I will do whatever I can to make it up to you. However, for the sake of your further relationship with Starlight, I need to examine you to see if your relationship is genuine." "That's actually why I came to see you Lady Maya." Trixie explain. "I know, our connection wasn't all that great, and your reaction of seeing again is well understood, I really want to prove to that I really did change for the better thanks to Starlight. And I want to prove that to you by inviting you to become my assistant once again for our next tour in a year from now." "Really?" Maya reacted. "Can I suggest that you reconsider?" "I think it would be a great idea become her assistant once again Master." Starlight added. "I didn't think you got over of what happened between the both of you and now that I'm here, I can help the both of you to develop the bond that was missing this entire time. It would be fun to see a three way performance on the stage." Maya reacted. "UUggh! The thought that wearing that sleazy outfit again makes my cringe so badly! Very well then, I debt needs to be pay regardless. But until I know for sure that the two of you will be happy together I'm put the both of you in my probational watch while we tour together. If I found that your relationship with Starlight Glimmer is indeed genuine Trixie, then you will have my blessing. But if it's not and you're trying to use her for your on gain like you did to me then I won't let you see Starlight again, and she will make a convent of "Absolute Devotion" with me so I can always protect her. Do you understand?" Trixie accepts Maya's condition and say she will not be disappointed. "I'm may have to cancel a few future plans along the why but You will have my undivided attention for your future tour. You're dismiss." Starlight and Trixie both left Maya's office and Maya still kneeling on the floor lost in thought. "That was too close Trixie." says Starlight. "You could of really gotten yourself hurt over there. I'm sorry that I brought you to see her." "It's alright Starlight." Replied Trixie "I kinda had it come after what happened between us. Hopefully I can reconnect with Lady Maya as a friend this time." Starlight: "Yeah about that. Master to me some disturbing things about your relationship with her while you were touring with her. If we ever have the chance to earn her blessing, I need to know the honest truth about what went on with the two of you after the show was over." Trixie: "Yeah, I'll tell you, but believe me, I was kind of a freak then and just had my sexually woke up from under me! ;P" And that ends the second half of the freaking back story. Sorry that his post took longer to get ready. This was a very lengthy story then I thought it will be but I least I'm done with that part and the rest will be posted in it's original way. Day 7- Powers out
a/n: Talks of some death here- and yes I realize reader insert doesn’t have something personal like this but I like writing reader insert so sorry for the buzzkill.
You grabbed your Duffle and walked downstairs, the smell of coffee drifting through the hall. Tony sat at the breakfast bar, mug in his hand and gingerbread man between his fingers, in route to his mouth.
“I see that being the Grinch is just an act.” you said casually, grabbing a mug and dropping your duffle by the tote of cookie boxes you had to take home.
“They smelt good.” he muttered quietly, closing the box he took it out of, sliding it back towards you.
“It’s your box, you know? Everyone who wants one gets one before I take them with me. I just never thought you’d want some.” You shrugged, sipping your coffee.
“Thanks.” you could have sworn you say part of a smile peek through.
“Of course. Well, Tony. I’m leaving. Sure you’ll be okay by yourself?” you asked. He was quiet, so you continued. “I can just go spend the night and come back. I don’t mind.”
“No, don’t change your plans.” He looked over his shoulder at the soft snow blowing around. “It’s cold, let me take you.”
“There is no way I’d let you take me home. Even if it is freezing outside!” you laughed, wrapping your scarf around your neck. “I’ll be fine, but thank you.”
You slid on a coat before sliding the duffle over your shoulder, taking the tote in your hands. Headed to the elevator, you looked at Tony and smiled.
“Hey Tony? Merry Christmas.” You smiled at him before stepping back into the elevator, doors closing.
The walk to your studio wasn’t long, and after setting everything inside, you turned on the thermostat to warm up, before stepping outside again and locking the door behind you. Head down, you continue walking through the city until you reached the cemetery. Slipping in the gate, you walked back to the three headstones under the willow. Brushing the snow off the fronts, you looked at the names of your parents and brother, sitting in the snow between them.
“Hey, guys. Merry Christmas.” you sighed, leaning against your brothers headstone. You sat there for a while in silence, before telling them all about what has been happening, about everyone and their Christmas plans. It was almost two hours later when you stood, wiping the tear stains from your face and forced your frozen body to walk back to your apartment.
When you opened the door, you stopped. It wasn’t warm. Looking at the thermostat, it was colder than when you left the first time. Grabbing the remote for the fireplace, you clicked it on, for nothing to happen.
“Aw man the power's out.” you muttered, rubbing your hands together. You glanced around the studio and tore your closet apart, still not finding a fuse box. You called the owner of the shop downstairs, never getting an answer. An hour later, with no other options, you picked up your phone and rang Tony.
“Yes?” He said on the second ring.
“Tony, I wouldn’t ask if I could fix it myself, but the powers out and I can’t find the fuse box and could use some help.” You sniffed as your nose began to run, the cold really setting in.
“Send me the address. I’ll be there soon.” He said, hanging up before you could thank him. You set the phone down, and grabbed yet another blanket, pulling it around you and willing your face to stop looking like you were crying, but looking around at the decorations that used to hang at your home, the memories of Christmas in childhood brought more tears.
A knock at the door brought your attention back to reality. Opening it, you saw Tony standing in the doorway.
“Thanks. I’m sorry to drag you out here.” You mumbled, stepping aside to let him in.
“I thought you were going home?” He asked, plainly.
“I am home.” You said, leaning on the counter watching as he looked around and then typed something into his phone.
“No, like home to your family.” He muttered. “Have you paid the electric bill? Everything else is fine.” He sassed.
“Shit.” you muttered, finally realizing it was due two days ago.
“Are you a dumbass?” Tony asked, throwing his hands up.
“I’m upset and freezing so if you could stop being an asshole for five seconds that would be fantastic.” you muttered, grabbing your phone and calling the electric company. “Shit, they’re closed due to the storms. Won’t open until after the holidays.”
Sighing, you sat down, taking your head in your hands. “Thanks for coming out Tony. Sorry, I’m a mess and didn’t think about it when I got back.”
Tony looked over you, snowflakes still sitting in your hair like you had just come in.
“You’re shivering.” he said.
“What? Oh, yeah. That’s what happens when you sit in the snow against cold marble for two hours. But I had to see them, my family, I miss them so much.” The tears began to fall again before you sniffled. “Sorry, Thanks again Tony. You should probably go before you freeze.” you muttered, taking in his thin jacket.
“I’m not leaving you here. Come on.” He sighed, grabbing your bag and tote.
“What?”
“I know that we don’t like each other but I think it would be a dick move to leave you alone on Christmas soooooo.” he held out his hand to you, a smile of sympathy on his lips. You smiled slightly, and took his hand. Locking up your apartment, you sighed and followed him back to the tower.

~M~
I gathered myself after a mix of self pity in tears and asked the driver where we were going.
“He asked me to keep driving until you told me where you wanted to stop, are you okay miss?”
I nodded my head and looked down at the phone as the screen lit up. I tapped Shawns code in and smiled at his text message.
“I hope you're asleep but I seen this and thought of you”
It was a picture of a little boy wearing a shirt that said I dig chicks with sparklers. I covered my smile and texted back, “Be honest that was you today before you went out tonight!”
“Whoa, your awake? And wait was that a crack at my age?” he sent with a winky face.
Before I could reply he called me. I answered and he had pouty lips until he noticed I was in a car. My face was still red from crying so much.
“Where are you going? Are you running away with my phone and selling my personal info to the paps?” he asked trying not to sound worried.
I shook my head no and asked the driver to pull over for a moment so I could talk in private. I stood on the sidewalk as he chewed his lip and pulled his hoodie over his beautiful brown locks.
“Where are you?” I asked as he walked down a darker street than me but looked familiar. He was in a park as he looked around.
“I’m coming to you, I’m like 2 minutes from you, that is if I don’t get spotted like I did leaving Tarons house” he smiled crossing the street
“NO WAY!” I shouted as he came jogging up to me with a huge grin. “How the…” I asked looking around in sheer amazement. He held his hands out and spun around in circles.
“Yeah so,I’m a helicopter stalker I guess” he laughed giving me a hug. “What are you doing so far from home, you should be getting beauty sleep, I mean not like you need it...but ya know” he smiled pulling his hand over his hoodie to cover his eyes as he bit his lip “Sorry, I’m just a boy remember, I don’t know how these awkward feelings work” he smiled at me and I couldn’t help but smile back.
“Your not a boy” I said poking his nose. “Besides your barely three years younger than me”
“Yeah until next month, then I turn 20, that makes it two, besides I’m an old soul, my mums always told me that” He hugged me turning his back to the street “Do you see that gray car across the street turning around?” he asked serious backing us up to the waiting uber shielding my face.
“Yep, I know who they are they can be aggressive, they were outside the club tonight, plenty of footage of my life falling apart on the internet already” I said wanting to disappear.
“Sorry to do this, but we gotta go like now” he said getting us into the car.
He asked the driver to end the charge so he could end the trace and he’d pay him double in cash. The man agreed and got us outta there fast. I offered him his phone and he shook his head no.
“My parents are calling your number in like two hours beautiful” he winked pulling me in close giving the driver his street he was staying on. Thank goodness we weren’t being followed.
“How brave of you to assume I’ll be around in two hours” I smiled as he flushed red
“Yeah, huh, I just meant that I texted them to call your number and they have been asleep, I didn’t mean..” I laughed at him as he shut his lips with his fingers and realized I was only joking “Yeah, I talk too much when I’m nervous, and I say yeah a lot”
“I’m gathering that as I run into you more often in the last couple of hours”
“Wait, what else are you newly gathering on me as the few hours have passed?”  he raised his eyebrows and I shook my head not answering. He opened my phone and went to each of my social apps “Oh my God, I’m so hurt! You don’t follow me anywhere? Your not a fan of me?” he pouted and then smiled as he clicked follow on every app “Now you can learn all about me!”
I shook my head at him “I’d rather do it the old fashion way, the less that thing is in my hand the better right now, besides I know that's not the real you, it’s who you want the world to see”
“Wow, that's truth right there, except I’m a total bad actor so what you see is the real me, swear to God” he said laughing holding his hands up. He was so full of light that I couldn’t help but feel full of happiness around him. It felt so good.
We pulled up to his street and he thanked the man giving him more than double and he grabbed my bags from the back. We walked a few houses in silence and cut down a back path to another street and entered a back door. He gave that driver the wrong street so he couldn’t sell us out. Smart man. He held the door open and turned on the lights. I made my way through the small but chic and quaint fused home. He sat on the couch near the far end and plugged my phone up. I handed him his “I’m sorry my charger is in there somewhere” I said pointing at all my bags.
“Can we share?” I asked looking at them feeling drained. My phone made all the familiar sounds of texts and messages coming through. I let out a exhausted breath and it put it on silence.
“Come on, let's get you to bed” he said leading me upstairs to a one bedroom oasis. It overlooked a river that was beautiful this time of morning. I glanced at his clock. It read 4:45am. He patted the bed and pulled the covers down. My hazel green eyes went wide as it clicked there was only one bed. Was he smooth or what? He handed me one of his t-shirts as he walked back over to me.
“Good guy my ass, your smooth Shawn Mendes, but not that smooth” I joked making him blush
“No no no, I don’t sleep here, beds are too big for me when I’m away from home, It makes me feel lonely, plus I have to go wait for my parents to call me remember. This is just for you, you can lock the door.” he said backing up from me looking embarrassed.
I grabbed him and hugged him feeling like an ass. I squeezed him so he knew I meant it.
“I’m sorry” I said as he hugged me back “I’m just a bit scattered right now, I’m grateful you're being so kind Shawn, I have no idea what I’m doing or where I’ll even sleep tomorrow, so I..I just want to say thank you” I said the tears falling again. He held me tight and slowly rocked me.
“Yeah, of course and hey, don’t worry about tomorrow, it’s already here, and this is where your sleeping, I’ll turn your phone off soon as my parents call and you can let it stay off long as you like.” he kissed my forehead and wiped my cheeks. “I’ll be right down there if you need me, okay?” he asked letting go of me so I would open my eyes to him. He smiled a quick smile and turned out of the room. I changed into his shirt that went down to my knees and got into the huge bed. My body was exhausted. My heart was shattered. My brain was glowing with light, light from Shawn. I thought of his smile as I drifted off into sleep.
My eyes woke up to the light of early afternoon. I sat up getting my head together as to where I was. The look at the strange shirt that clung to my body was a quick reminder. I smiled at my bags set just inside my door with a box and a pink bow. The little tag said “To a new start or just a time out" I opened the box to find a new phone already programmed with my settings. Another note inside read “Don't panic, your phone is in your purse, I didn't harm it promise! Your new phone code is today's date, for new starts, text me when your ready for company” Love, Stalker Shawn. I turned on the power and the lock screen was a picture of us at the club Nikki took. I unlocked it and next was the little boy in that t-shirt with Shawn's head cropped in. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. I shook my head and grabbed my bathroom bag and shut the door.
~S~
Shawn's face lit up as he heard Madisons laughter up the stairs. He hadn't slept much but hearing that laugh made it all worth it. He had read the texts that came in as he waited for his parents to call. He knew better, but he wanted to protect her all of a sudden. She was just different, he couldn't put his finger on it yet. There was messages from her ex Hazzi as it was named. He just kept asking if she was safe. He did respond with a “Yes, I’m safe and going to bed” he knew the ex had to wonder why the uber charge ended where it did. So he felt he owed it to this guy for at least asking about her safety. Then more texts came in from the woman who helped caused Madisons pain, Z. She protested saying it wasn't how it looked. He responded only once “Damage is done, what's the difference?” he hit send and instantly regretted it. Her phone blew up even more. That’s when he put a call in to get her a new phone with a new number. It came before his parents had called. He transferred everything over except pictures. She could do that if she wanted. He behaved himself and didn't respond to texts anymore or go through her pictures, except he did send himself the picture from her friend Nikki. It was him and her at XOXO tonight. It gave him butterflies. But he did google her online. She was just starting to become the new face in modeling but an interview with her and her ex revealed that she was “Interested in showing the world real true beauty and changing the game so that it fit for everyone not just stereotypes that had been mainstream since her childhood, she wanted to be more than just a pretty face” she was quoted as saying. Shawn wondered what her real dream was. Sure she had the look of happiness nailed down but her eyes told a different story. Or perhaps he was just extremely exhausted and was losing his shit over someone he just met. He followed her on all social media. Her personal Instagram was private and he found himself looking at her pictures, remembering her comment about showing the world the you that you wanted them to see. He shook his head seeing the difference in the pages themselves. She was so carefree and happy in her real pictures, he wanted to know this person. He smiled at how this cute blonde haired, green hazel eyed woman pulled at his heart. He didn’t do romance for a reason, it was dangerous, in more ways than one. Especially on tour, he even kept his hookups to people who didn’t know of him and that was getting harder and harder. It had been weeks since he even thought about it let alone tried. Now here he was with this beautiful soul yet stranger and the chaos that came with it. “Shit Shawn don’t fall" he said out loud tapping the next video footage of her. It was from XOXO. The paps had caught every moment of her leaving the club and her ex grabbing her, her slapping him and screaming at him starting to cry. Shawn could feel his heart hurt for her. He knew how she was going to feel seeing this public display, he went through it every time he opened his heart up. Its It's why he stayed single. He put in another call to pay for it to be removed from the internet as much as he could. And to keep it under control. He searched her now ex. He seemed like a decent down to earth guy, not the cheating kind but guess you can't read a book by it’s cover. He talked to his parents explaining how his phone got mixed up with Madisons but he didn’t say all the details. His mum was happy, he hadn’t mentioned a girl since his confusion with Hailey. She was mum, always worried about him being on his own. They were flying out to Amsterdam for his birthday party next month. She made it a themed masquerade party. She begged him to bring this girl. He didn’t dare tell mum her name, she would have looked up everything she could on her by noon today. After the call ended he had turned her phone off and tried to sleep but he kept thinking of her in that big bed all alone. He just wanted a peek, a peek turned into taking another peek and then he took a picture of this angel that slept safe in his bed. She was so beautiful, her blonde hair splayed across his pillow, no makeup and in his shirt, she looked so much smaller and fragile. Her thick thighs and ass were on display letting him have a peek at her hello kitty underwear. He chewed his thumb as he covered her butt up so he could capture this moment without being a pervert. He forced himself back downstairs laughing at his fitting nickname she already gave him “Stalker Shawn”
  ~M~
I dressed down as much as I could with the clothes I had already packed for my photo shoot. It meant I was forced to wear his shirt with my shorts I had packed for working out or my shirt from last night. I picked his and tied it in a knot because it was so long I looked naked underneath. I finished my makeup and took a deep breath as I crept downstairs to find him sleeping sitting up on the couch. I made my way to the kitchen for some cold water being as quiet as I could. I snuck a picture of him and giggled at myself. He opened one eye and smiled that megawatt smile that lit my world up.
“There you are, wow what year is it? That shower took years off my life it feels like” he stood up and stretched and I walked closer to him. He looked like he hadn't slept much, probably my fault. His eyes had dark circles and were puffy. I wished I had let him sleep now.
“I’m sorry I woke you, I was thirsty” I said soft holding up my water sounding silly. He looked down at me smiling and that's when I noticed the bruise on his face. That bruise from drunk Harrison. Also my fault. My frown appeared as I reached for it and he grabbed my hand kissing the inside of it and he held it to his chest “I’m sorry for that too” I said looking into his soft ember eyes. He was such a beautiful soul. It was the first thing I thought when I met him.
“Don’t worry it don’t hurt, and it’s light so it will be easy to conceal for my concert in two days” he pulled me into a hug and inhaled my scent “This coconut smell makes me wanna eat you up I’m so hungry, we should order food!” my stomach growling told him it was a great ideal. “I was also going to beg you if you would do me a big favor and hang with me here today and watch a movie or three because I’m in need of serious down time?” he asked grabbing my water.
“I’ll have to check my schedule...but I think I have nowhere to be so...I’ll do you this favor” he rewarded me with a smile and handed me a pile of menus.
“You pick out anything you like and I’ll have it too, let Jake know who is just outside the front of the house, before they deliver so they won't get roughed up and I’m going to take a quick shower so don’t get lonely and miss me too much” he winked going so fast up the stairs I couldn’t respond. I had no choice but to just go with the flow, and the flow felt good.
Shawn was out of the shower and dressed by the time food arrived. He picked Justice League after a short debate of what to go with. I could pick the next one.
“I can’t believe you haven’t seen this, it’s good” I said as he jumped back into the bed nearly knocking the food over. I took the liberty of ordering one thing off each menu for breakfast he handed me. And he took bites of everything I ordered. At least I knew he wasn’t a picky eater.
“Yeah, I’ve been on tour so much it’s hard to find down time, so I gotta make them count, plus I’m a huge Superman fan, if I could be a superhero, I’d be him” he winked grabbing more bacon.
I wasn’t hungry much after eating almost all of the pancakes, so I settled in, feeling the calm inside me. I rested against the headboard and he laid on his stomach closer to the giant screen in front of us. I felt the urge to lay with him but held back. He was not going to be my rebound or revenge. He already felt like something bigger, but I wasn’t ready for bigger just yet. I did keep my eyes on him as he started to snore softly. His soft breathing put me in a coma and I fell asleep too.
I felt fingers on my bare feet. I jerked them back and made contact with a hard surface.
“Shit” Shawn said grabbing his jaw and rolled onto the floor. I jumped outta bed and hovered over him. Please lord don’t let me have bruised anymore of this man. I was becoming a hazard to have around.
“I’ll go grab ice, I’m so sorry I’m super ticklish” I said frantic and he peeked at me smiling. I noticed his eyes weren’t exactly brown now, they were leaning towards green.
“Wow” I said out loud as he locked eyes with me. He pulled me down on him to reveal he was only messing with me.
“Wow what” he said above a whisper, his lips entirely too close, too soft, too full, too pink. He bit his lip as I looked at his mouth with sheer lust, wanting a feel, a taste, to give in, same as at the club. I closed my eyes and shook my head at my naughty thoughts, If I didn’t go slow this fall would hurt just as much. He set us up slowly and held my face in his soft hands. His rough fingers smoothed out my wrinkled eyebrows and traced my lips before he let go. I kept my eyes closed as Shawn traced his nose up my neck and whispered in my ear.
“Don’t worry Madison, I won’t kiss you until we're both ready, I promise, and I always keep my promises”
I opened my eyes to him and let out a soft whimper at how perfect this man was “Thank you” I said kissing his bruise Haz had left. It took everything I had to pull away and stand up from his lap. My blood was hot for him. We both ignored the fact his shorts were tight in a very obvious place. I went to the bathroom to gather my thoughts and give us space.
~S~
Shawn stood up and turned the tv off. He adjusted his hard on and pulled at his hair for having one. He looked at the time and it read 3:49 with a quick text he got Jake on alert that he was taking Madison out to the Eiffel Tower for Bastille Day and would need extra security. He was not messing this feeling up for either of them. He said a quick prayer that they could go unnoticed so they could discover each other and they could open up and be themselves. He pulled out two hoodies and grabbed both of their phones and her purse. Stuffing it into a backpack along with a blanket. He smirked at her as she leaned against the doorway watching him zip up the stuffed bag. She raised her eyebrows and looked dead serious.
“Either your kidnapping me or your forgetting the ski masks for the heist, I’m down for both”
“Nope, were going on a tiny trip. I have to make the most of my time and I know if I stay here I’m going to keep falling asleep and I don’t want to waste time, so yeah, I’m taking you out.” he could see the hesitation as she glanced at the daylight and back to him and back to the floor.
“Don’t worry, it’s a few hours drive, by the time we get there it will be near dark” he held out his hand for her to take as he held his breath fearing she would say no. Shawn gave her his smile that he was learning fast was her kryptonite. Perhaps he could be her Superman? She giggled and placed her hand in his. They went downstairs together. His blood heated as she gave him a very quick kiss on the lips and walked out the door “Fuck me” he said soft watching her bounce her way down the sidewalk and into the waiting SUV. “She’s my kryptonite” he smiled putting on his sunglasses.
~M~
I turned on my new phone and sent Nikki a text letting her know everything that had happened and where I was now. She was the only person I knew that would keep my location secret and I knew if I didn’t report to her she’d bend hell to find me. She was super happy for me. She told me Tom was taking her out tonight to meet with Taron and she thought they were up to something but something good. She sent me a picture of the panties Tom had bought her to wear tonight. My face turned as red as the panties as Shawn glanced at the screen at the wrong time. He cleared his throat and pulled his sunglasses back over his eyes as he cracked up. I told her to keep me updated and I will do the same. I scrolled through Instagram and seen my newest follower Shawn had liked a few of my personal pictures. I took his glasses off his face and put them on mine and snapped a picture blowing a kiss at the camera. He pulled me close and I snapped another one. I didn’t post them, everything was too fragile. But he did grab my phone and sent them to himself. He gasped as he seen the sleeping picture of him from earlier. “What is this?” he teased holding our phones side by side with a sleeping picture of me.
“Stalker Shawn! Your seriously rubbing off on me in a good way” I laughed as he turned red.
“Yeah sorry, I couldn’t stop worrying about you and I might have made myself obsess over you by your pictures and interviews, only online ones! I didn’t go through your pictures on your phone, I behaved myself mostly” he said feeling embarrassed. He ran his fingers through his hair as I  scrolled through the internet and pulled up one of his videos I haven’t seen but heard about.
“Lets see what I can learn about you on the internet since you want to know me that way not while I’m next to you” I teased.
He looked bummed for a second until I laid on my back and rested my head on his lap as I pressed the video to Nervous. I kept looking at my phone wide eyed, trying not to laugh. He was seriously the same person except right now he was even more nervous. The song wasn’t even three minutes long so I hit replay. I started to giggle at his facial expressions in the video and peeked up at him looking at me. He just started to sing it to me and I hit record. This man was infectious! It took awhile for us to stop laughing at each other and my cheeks started to hurt. I turned my face into his hard stomach and took in a deep breath. I realized this was a little too intimate and tried to sit up. He put his hands in my hair and turned my face to look at him. I swallowed hard as he bit his lip looking at me. He took a picture and I swear I felt our worlds collide. We both lived for the small moments and memories in life, my old phone was full of small moments and memories, now I could start making new ones without looking at the old ones. I looked into his brown hazel green eyes and felt my heart race. It was too soon, don't rush, don’t fall, don’t hurt me if I do. I smiled at him as he told me to pick another song of his that I knew so he could sing it. “It might make me cry” I said looking in his eyes “In my blood” He played with my hair as he started to sing to me making my heart swell. By the end we were singing it together and yep, the tears fell.
~S~
Shawn snapped the picture of Madison on his lap after had kept her there never wanting to forget the way moment he completely came undone for her. She looked like an angel, his angel. Her blonde hair splayed across his black shorts and brushed his legs. Her eyes sparkled green with the rims almost gray. She stirred feelings in him he hadn’t felt, ever. He bit his lip and wanted to kiss her so damn bad. Why did he promise her he wouldn’t? She kept looking up at him and he knew they were thinking the same thing. Don’t rush, don’t fall..don’t hurt me, we were falling, falling fast. He would catch her but was scared to say it. Shit it hadn’t been 24 hours since he met her. Now we were approaching 24 hours until his next concert and he’d be flying out to the next city. He swallowed hard and asked her to pick another song. He knew it was In my blood before she even said it might make her cry, her beautiful eyes couldn’t hide anything. That song  told him she had been hiding much more inside herself than anyone knew. Shawn played with the golden curls and looked into her soul as he sang to her soft. He closed his eyes as she started to hit the higher more emotional notes with him. He finished the song in a whisper as he felt her tears on his leg. He let her cry into his shirt and he lightly touched her soft skin. He hated that she was holding in so much, but he knew why. You can’t trust anyone in this world but family and it made him wonder where hers was. She had only called Nikki and the pictures he did see on the internet were none with family. He made a mental note to look again later. She brought him out of his deep thoughts as she sat up and hugged him. He loved that she was wide open to him. She couldn’t hide from him and it worked both ways. It made him feel at peace just holding her. He felt the loss as she sat back on her side and he hated it. So he pulled her back on his lap and opened his phone. He went to his pictures and asked her to pick one. Madison looked through them all and stopped on one of him and his family on vacation. He told every story that memory held for each picture she touched. Next thing he knew they were getting close to her surprise. He didn’t want to let go but he had to prepare her for what would happen just in case they were spotted. He said another prayer to the man upstairs to look over them if this was meant to be.
Side Note: If you like what you see let me know with a like and a reblog! I’m open to comments or suggestions. I hope you like my first round into Shawns orbit, I’m never coming back down! Feel free to let me know if this is crap, honestly!

prompt idea - something during harry's childhood or the hook siblings childhood if you wanna include harriet and cj. idk if you want specific prompts or not so just incase hmm.. maybe captain hook teaching harry (or all of the hook kids) to play the organ/piano/whatevs??
Hey anon! So…this may me a little bit of cheating…I say cheating because when I received this ask, I was actually working on a scene from Harry’s childhood for “We’ll Light the Fuse”. Not sure if it’ll actually make it to the next update but it doesn’t have an spoilers so…why not? I’ll also try to do the piano/organ thing too later. Don’t worry, though, you don’t need to have read WLTF to understand this.
But for now, hope you enjoy this product of coincidence?
(Note: My headcannon for now is Harriet is two years older than Harry and CJ is three years younger.)
Tumblr media
Once upon a time… there were three siblings that could only depend on each other. One night, the eldest sibling left, wanting to start her own life on the other side of the Isle after years of looking after and protecting her younger siblings…
“Hey! Enough of those tears, Cali! They’re not gonna change Ettie’s mind!” a ten year old Harry Hook yelled throwing a somewhat clean rag at his crying younger sister. His gesture, though he meant well, only seemed to make the seven year old cry even more. He faced palmed.
And Uma calls me dramatic, he thought. The fact he knew the tears probably weren’t real and merely an old trick Harriet had taught her when CJ was still too small to be anything other than a distraction didn’t help him be any more sympathetic either.
Harriet had left in the dead of the night, collecting all of the few personal objects she had along with the red jacket that she had outfitted from one of their father’s old coats… Harry had suspected she would desert them for the past month now. She already had a ship, one of their father’s better ones given a month earlier when she had turned twelve, and her crew was easy to come by since most of their father’s crew all had children of their own who they had grown up with.
Good riddance! Harry thought bitterly, ignoring how much his sister leaving had felt like betrayal. He may only be ten, but he knew getting too close with anyone, even family was a risk. Blood wasn’t always thicker on the Isle after all. His strenuous relationship with a father who most of the time couldn’t bare to look at him was a prime example.
So he ignored how he would miss Harriet’s cackle of a laugh when he did something that really helped carve an impression into the minds of those of the Isle that he was a pirate not to be messed with. He ignored how he would miss their daily spars where woven in between sarcastic remarks and insulting names, there would actual be tidbits on not to get himself killed, much more helpful than his father’s suggestion slurred suggestion to just run himself with a sword. (The frequency that Hook made that comment and ones similar had started to wear off…that is until the old Captain actually tried to force his suggestion onto the boy himself.)
“You’re gonna leave me just like sissy did!” the young blonde cried throwing the rag right back back at him, anchoring him back to the present.
Harry refrained his desire to just shove her off the boat and into the murky water below but a voice that sounded too much like his older sister reminded him that all too familiar sneer of hers that if “precious Calista Jane” went overboard their father would have his neck. And Harry quite liked his neck.
“Stop that cryin’ right now! Ye hear me?” he growled, trying to repress himself from turning into a useless heaving ball, curled up on the deck of the ship, struggling to breathe and waiting for the world to stop spinning like he did when he first found Harriet gone.
He took a deep breath, causing CJ to look at him with wide teary brown eyes. For a moment, the young boy thought that one of his sisters was finally listening to him, that was until CJ stomped on his foot with as much force as she could (which was a lot for a seven year old) before kicking his shin.
“Holy crocodile! Ye little goblin!” Harry howled falling to the ground and clutching his lower leg.
“No!” CJ cried, stomping her foot, though this time thankfully nowhere near his own. “You can’t leave! You can’t! You can’t!”
“Oh shut up you idiot! I’m not going no where!” the boy rolled his eyes, flopping back on the deck of the ship. There was only a few of his father’s crew above deck at the moment, many of them somewhere else, roaming the island, or sleeping off whatever questionable moonshine they managed to get their hands on. He was bored. He idly wondered what Uma was doing and if she was stuck working her mother’s shop again.
“Promise?” CJ prodded, hovering over him, blonde hair knotted in a poor attempt at mimicking the braid that Harriet always struggled with taming into submission. Her bottom lip was trembling and the only tell that this wasn’t completely an act was the way the younger child bit the inside of her cheek. When Calista Jane was pulling a con she bit her bottom lip.
Oh Davy Jones, he thought sitting up. He was never really good when CJ got like this, when she looked at him expectantly as if he could actually keep a damn promise on this pitiful rock that they called home. He wasn’t stupid. He hadn’t made a name yet like Harriet. Still known to too many as just one of Harriet Hook’s bratty little siblings. But maybe…one day, with a certain sea witch, he would be so feared on the Isle that he could make a promise to his sibling without his stomach twisting at the uncertainty of being able to keep such a promise.
“Yeah, yeah. I promise,” he said pushing her away none too gently as he got up to his feet. “We’ll even go on a grand adventure one day,” he muttered, sarcasm heavy in his voice but CJ didn’t seem to hear it as her eyes grew wide, any remaining traces of her crying now long gone and she let out a squeal before running off to another part of the ship yelling “ADVENTURE!” and needing to go find that Freddie brat loudly.
Harry rolled his eyes again, glancing at the dock where a familiar turquoise figure caught his eye waiting impatiently for him, a mischievous smirk instantly fading away his concerns for the time being.
He ran down the ship’s board, his usual mischievous smile on his face until he caught sight of an unpleasant head of purple hair waiting next to Uma.
“Mal,” he ground out. Before turning to Uma. “Why’d ye bring her here?” he hissed.
“Yeah, I thought we were going to have some real fun, Uma.,” Mal sighed, sounding almost bored as she barely gave the boy a glance. “Didn’t know we were gonna spend the day with this charity case.”
“Ye wanna say that a bit louder, pixie?” Harry fumed through clenched teeth, taking a step closer to her.
Uma pushed her way between the two. “Both of you, chill!” she growled before tugging Harry off to the side. “What’s up with you? I thought you’d be up for causing a little bit of mayhem,” she said, glancing back at Mal before in a lower voice saying, “I heard about Harriet and…ya know, thought it would cheer you up.”
(Davy Jones. That weird stomach fluttering thing always seemed to happen at the most inconvenient of times, he thought, taking in her rare look of concern.)
“I do like causing mayhem but with ye, lass. But not with that purple tadpole. I just don’t see why ye would even want to hang out with her. She’s got no real substance! Everyone knows she’s just her mother’s clone. And not even a good one.”
Uma rolled her eyes. This wasn’t the first time Harry had made his feelings about her friend from the other side of the Isle clear.
“Look Harry,” she growled irritatedly, poking him in the chest. “Mal and I have each other’s back. We’re gonna rule this island and then we’re going to take over Auradon together and shove all those sugary sweet royal brats off their thrones. Now, I can do that with or without you, Hook, but if you’re with me then you need to shut your clam about Mal. She and I are partners.”
Harry knocked her hand away from him, ignoring the part of him that wanted to ask weren’t they partners.
“This is n’t going to end well, Uma. I can feel it. Mal. Is. Bad. News,” he said putting emphasis on the last few words. “And not in the way ya wanna mess with.”
Rolling her eyes, Uma turned around, speaking over her shoulder, “You’re too paranoid, Hook. Mal and I have a plan. Like I said, you’re either with us or against us. When you come to your senses, Mal and I will be the docks by one of your old man’s other ships,” she said before starting to walk back towards where the purple half-fae was smirking triumphantly at him.
(Damn pixie.)
The young boy bit his lip, holding back a curse as he watched them both disappear around a turn, hearing a faint conversation of needing to find something slippery and smelly for their next prank. His stomach twisted with a sense of foreboding that something irreversible was going to occur soon…
A few hours later, he would realize that he hated being right…and once again, he hated how he felt powerless in protecting what was his.
Yep, I bet you can guess when this took place… So I was going to cut it off right after Harry sees Uma but…then my fingers slipped across the keyboard…repeatedly…and…well, yeah…
Hope you enjoyed, anon! And I’ll try the piano thing at some point too.

"Person A is walking down the hallway at school/work and Person B walks up behind them and pulls on their bag to get their attention. Person A flips out into self defense mode and this is really awkward because I’ve pinned you against the wall with my elbow in your throat and our faces are inches from each others and we are ~just friends~ but holy fuck do you look hot when you’re mad and you just pinned me against a wall and there is a lot of possible sexual tension here lord help."
Up Close and Personal
here you go my love! I hope this is kinda what you wanted! I’ve left it open at the end so if anyone’s interested I may continue.
Enjoy xx
@gellbellshead
It was Monday morning and Betty Cooper was running late. Herconverse squeaked slightly as she rushed down the hallway, her hands hastilypinning a stray hair back into place as the curls of her pony tail bounced withthe hurried movements.
“Shit, shit, shit!” she mumbled as she noted the lack ofstudents in the halls, checking her watch and letting out a groan with therealisation that homeroom had already begun.
Her hands clenched into fists, her nails grazing the skin ofher palms she willed the pressure in her chest to dissipate. Her breathing wasshallow and her stomach was in knots as her anxiety spiked.
Locker first. No homeroom first. But you’re already late. Wait which is closer.
Her eyes darted around the hallway, when suddenly theylanded on a dark figure turning the corner up ahead. She strained her gazebefore her green orbs widened with realisation. She knew that dark figure. Itwas the beanie that gave him away, the same grey knitted cap he had worn eversince they met as children.
Suddenly the anxiety left her body, the impending panicattack halting as shock took its place. Her feet fused to the ground as herlimbs seized with surprise.
Mere months ago his presence in the halls of Riverdale Highwouldn’t have drawn such a reaction from her. But now as she took in hisbrooding demeanour, hands stuffed in his pockets, the black leather jacket shehad become accustomed to seeing him in as of late switched out for an old denimone; she couldn’t help but stare. His brooding demeanour was the same asalways, though his shoulders held a new tension.
Jughead Jones.
Why had no one told her he was coming back today? She knewit was something she would not have forgotten.
A few months ago, after his dad’s arrest Jughead had movedin with a foster family on the Southside of town. His mum had already packed upand left a year before that, taking Jughead’s little sister with her andleaving her son to welt. The change of living arrangements had meant he had totransfer schools to Southside High.
It was a change that had shaken their group, the dynamic ofthe usual threesome- Betty, Archie and Jughead- irrevocably altered. The threeof them had been best friends since childhood, always together.
Until they weren’t. Until Jughead was taken away and fellfurther into the throes of Southside life. The serpent’s had taken him undertheir wing, offered protection in the ever growing hostility of the town andthe dark haired boy had started shutting himself off.
They still caught up for milkshakes at Pop’s and sometimeshung out at Archie’s house but it wasn’t the same. He had become more reserved, darkness shrouding his person in a way that it had always threatened to butnever succeeded in until this year. He would show up in leather instead ofplaid, converse gone and combat boots in their place, sometimes with errantbruises and cuts. His jaw was set in a new hard line, blue eyes taking on aharsher tint. He didn’t talk about his life- his real life- anymore, and onlyindulged them with medial details about school and his foster parents.
Betty hated it. She hated the changes and the fact she washelpless to fix them.
But then by some miracle, Fred Andrew’s after much tryinghad managed to get in contact with Jughead’s mum- something not even Jughead hadbeen able to achieve- and convinced her to sign custody of her son over to him.He had moved in with the Andrews on the weekend, at least that’s what Archiehad told her. But no one had mentioned his return to school.
Betty couldn’t help the wide grin that suddenly spreaditself across her face the realisation that he was really there before hereyes, and that he was back, really back; things were finally retreating backinto some semblance of normalcy and her heart felt a little lighter.
Her feet were moving again, the goal of catching him givingher a clear trajectory for her movements.
His slow, lethargic movements allowed her to catch up easilyand Betty rolled her eyes at his laziness. Her hand reached out tugging on hissleeve as soon as she was within a step.
“Jug- ah!” Her greeting was immediately cut off andmanufactured into a gasp by his quick movements, his body spinning quickly andmaking her dizzy as his hands turned her around and had her pushed up against alocker within seconds. One of his hands was curled into a fist, pressingagainst the metal just above her shoulder, while his other one was splayed outon the delicate skin of her throat, his grip strong enough to send trickles offear running through her blood, but not tight enough to choke her. His darkfeatures were twisted in a snarl and his breaths were coming out in pants. Hisbody was pressed up against hers and the space between them was non-existent.
Betty couldn’t breathe for an entirely different reason now.
They had never been this close before. The air was stuck inher lungs, refusing to make it way out. With the way he was pinning her againstthe locker with his body she could feel the hard planes of muscle he hid sowell under his layers, contrasting perfectly with the soft curves of her ownand sending warmth spreading throughout her veins. In the close proximity hehad forced them into she found herself looking directly into his stormy blueeyes, his gaze dark and dangerous, far off and dazed. It sent sparks she had neverexperienced tripping down her spine, making her swallow nervously. Her everynerve was alight and she had the sudden urge to be closer.
The hand against her throat was enticing the darkness withinher; exciting and unknown. It was a feeling she keened toward, yearning to getlost in the power trip, to give up control. Godhow had she never noticed how strong he was? She wanted to submit.  The sharp angle of his jaw was striking andthe way the light hit his face let her see the perfect symmetry of his darkfeatures. How had she never realised howhandsome and well hot he was? Her thighs clenched unconscionably.
Suddenly Jughead pulled away slightly, seeming to realisehimself and the intimate position they were in. His eyes widened in surprise ashe removed the hand that was splayed against her pale throat and placed it onthe other side of her against the locker. His head dropped for a moment, straydark curl falling over his eyes when he looked up again; and god did it do things to her- wicked things. Bettygulped again as he let out a loud exhale, his cool breath fanning her face andmaking her eyelids flutter closed briefly.
“Fuck, sorry Betts,” he apologised, sheepish grin on hisface. Betty still couldn’t quite remember how to breathe merely nodding at hiswords, willing her heart beat to slow down. Whatwas happening to her? This was Jughead.Jughead who she had baths with when she was four, Jughead who used to tug herpony tail in the sand pit. Jughead who was her best friend.
Exceptsuddenly he was Jughead who was invading her personal space and hadeffortlessly pinned her against the locker. He was Jughead who had grown up hot. He was Jughead who was aSerpent. He was Jughead who she wanted to pull her hair for a completelydifferent reason.
Thethought made her flush.
“Areyou okay?” His deep voice broke her reverie as she awkwardly shuffled on thespot, trying to relieve the sudden tension she was feeling all over. How was henot fazed by this? Because Elizabeth he’sclearly not having an excessive hormone trip that would make porn stars blushright now, unlike some people.
“Uhhuh,” she mumbled, trying to not to visibly cringe at the breathy, tinge hervoice had adopted.
Heeyed her suspiciously, clearly not believing her. But before she could panic, and begin to think his brilliant mind had connected the dots and realised thereason for her dazed behaviour he spoke again.
“Noreally, I’m sorry if I scared you it’s just, being me and being here witheverything going on in this town I have to watch my back,” he explained andBetty’s eyes widened with horror at the understanding. She felt guilt gnaw ather insides as he revealed something personal to her for what felt like thefirst time in forever, meanwhile all she could think about was whether she wasmore frustrated that people would actually try and attack him in the hallwaysof a high school or the fact that he thought she was scared.
Findinga confidence within her that she was totally unaware she was capable ofpossessing, Betty steeled her nerve. The darkening of her green eyes not missedby Jughead in their close proximity. He swallowed in anticipation as a look ofdetermination settled on her face; the same one that had been the epitome ofinnocence moments ago -flushed cheeks, wide eyes.
“I’mnot scared of you Jughead,” she breathed, her voice low and his body becamealight by her words. He would never have guessed girl next door, sweet BettyCooper was capable of dictating such a sultry tone and the evidence made hisstomach coil in excitement, his blue eyes darkening further. The meaning wasnot lost on him. The way she ever so slightly leaned toward him, still trappedin between the heat of his body and the cool metal of the lockers, confusingand further stimulating her sensitive skin.
Bettyinhaled sharply as his gaze fell to her lips. Her breath bated in anticipation.Never in a million years had she thought she would be so desperate for someoneto kiss her and especially not Jughead Jones of all people. But here she waspressed against a locker, trapped between his arms, dizzy and light headed fromthe faint smell of cigarettes and cologne that radiated from him, her fingerssomehow ending up gripping the hem of his black t-shirt ever so slightly.
“Maybeyou should be Elizabeth,” His tonelow and sinful as his breath tickled her lips. She didn’t miss the way his eyesflashed briefly in a torturous show of self-deprecation, but not even a secondlater it was gone and he was back to the arousing, enigmatic picture.
Shelet out a whimper that would surely make her blush profusely later with theembarrassment of how wantonly, desperate she sounded; desperate for her bestfriend. He looked at her hard for another moment, almost searching before heseemed to find what he wanted. And then slowly, ever so slowly his lips presseddown to hers- a simple brush, light and teasing. Her heart stutterederratically in her chest at the contact, her skin burning as if being set onfire by his touch.
Hergasp propelled him forward. His mouth pressed more deliberately and firmlyagainst hers. Betty groaned, her hands forming tighter fists in the hem of hisshirt as her body arched toward his. Jughead’s tongue pried her lips openbefore slipping inside the warm cavern of her mouth, stroking Betty’s own musclesensually. Her breath hitched, and her eyelashes fluttered against her cheeks. One of his hands came down from against the locker to settle on her hip as hestepped into her, pressing his body flush against her own as he pinned her morefirmly to the structure behind them.
Theirmouths opened wider, to accommodate the sinful tangling of tongues. It was hotand heavy attacking each other’s mouths ferociously. Lips swelling as teethclashed. Her thighs clenched again as he sucked on her bottom lip, eliciting alow groan from her throat. Jughead revelled in the sound, his hips rolling intohers, as his teeth nipped lightly at that same luscious bottom lip. Betty threwher head back against the locker panting, her own hips jutting forward to findfriction. God he was a good kisser. Shefelt drunk, dizzy and disorientated and she loved it.
Butall too soon the moment was broken. The shrill ring of the bell shattered thespell of sexual tension, their blissful haze fading away just as his lips hadbegun to trail down the column of her neck.
“Fuck,”he swore right near her delicate ear at the interruption; the expletive on hislips in such a moment making her hips buck a little into his. Jughead let out abreathy chuckle as he detangled himself from her body. He stepped back and shesuddenly felt cold and empty. It was disconcerting how much she craved histouch and she had only just had it, only just discovered it. He was like adrug, addictive and enlivening. She was high on him, but she wanted more.
Jugheadlet out a breathy chuckle at her dishevelled state. He leant down to their feetpicking up her backpack. He handed it back to her, smirking at the frown set onher face in confusion; she took a few moments inspecting the bag before itclicked that it was hers, and why he had placed it in her hands.
Kidsbegan flooding the halls and the sounds of teenagers talking and moving aroundin mundane routine muffled into white noise.
“Tobe continued,” he said, looking her directly in the eye, gaze heady and full ofpromise before he disappeared.
Bettylet out a heavy breath, her limbs feeling shaky and her entire world feelingoff kilter. Her head fell back against the metal again with a thud, her eyesfalling shut as she scrubbed her face with her hands.
She hadjust gotten herself in big trouble. Because damn that boy could do talentedthings with his tongue and damn didshe really want to continue to see what else he could do.

It was also a really disordered panicky dream with a lot of stuff that didn't fit into that semi coherent narrative. I guess just a mashup of all my stress from yesterday? The misc things:
* suddenly briefly was starring as myself in the regular non jrpg version of my dad's kitchen which was kinda scarier. It was that recurring horrible situation where he'd go out for the weekend and I'd get PEACE AND HAPPINESS AND BEING NOT HIT AS MUCH and then I'd be completely on edge waiting for the sound of him opening the door
But also this time I think I was watching some sort of scary thing on the television? I don't think it was the cyborg ferrets dream but I got the feeling it was whatever dream I had before that one, and that I'd forgotten parts of this big ol scary sleep session. Cannot remember ANY details of it tho, its just like a big empty void with 'you will be scared of this' written there. And I dunno, maybe something about the mid 2000s TV magician David Blaine?? Which might be because an episode of a mystery show that focused on stage wizards was like the biggest nightmare of my childhood. My other abusive grandma was being stupidly neglectful and had the whole family sit down to watch Johnathan Creek every night as a family. I'm only just realizing how fucked up that is as an adult! Its not only full of horrible murders but also a surprising amount of sex scenes, eurrgh. And loaaads of racism and homophobia like seriously Britain why u gotta be so fucked up. Anyway there was an episode of someone dying in THE MOST GORY WAY by being split it half by a buzzsaw LENGTHWISE THROUGH THE CROTCH during a failed magician trick, and then her partner stealing her identity and pretending it was her who died and then like.. Stealing her children too?? And they didn't even know this wasn't their mom until asshole racist detective man reveals to them that nope your mom is horrible sexualized deadness and this is the lady who did it. And somehow its sympathetic to her and she keeps the damn kids?? Like, the death being an accident = makes sense not to blame her, but HIDING THE DEATH AND STEALING HER IDENTITY IS KINDA FUCKED UP
Anyway in that dream snippet dad came home and I was worried he'd be mad at me for watching scary movies but he suddenly got all detective himself and was like 'aha there's a secret message hidden in the binary code for the mpeg file hmm hmm yes we should use dish soap on the aliens'
And then it just went back to the aliens dream and now I knew what to do??
* there was also a REALLY EEALLY CREEPY totally unrelated segment where a bunch of east Asian people where being kept in some sort of human farm??? Like reservations and segregation taken to an even worse extent. Why was this in my dream?? It was just like twenty minutes of getting attached to this poor family and then finding out they were trapped in a creepy 'wildlife sanctuary' set up by white people and like.. Having to pretend to be dumb animals while they secretly planned their escape and just YO, DREAM, I AM WHITE AS FUCK, I DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE THIS DREAM. Any other sort of sci fi dystopia human farm situation yeah maybe, but not a crushingly realistic one because LITERALLY THERE WERE ACTUAL 'HUMAN ZOOS' FOR SLAVES. God, history is scarier than nightmares.
Uncomfortable.
And it had a really depressing ending where only the eldest daughter managed to escape and THE GRANDMA DIED and just god I don't wanna see any of this. I think it was vaguely inspired by the previous dream cos that Johnathan creek mystery show had a really racist protagonist. But like.. God
Dream-me, there's no constructive point to a story about racism awareness that just shows everyone dying and no hope and also its a sci fi fantasy thing so racists can easily deny its remotely grounded in reality and thus never actually change. And seriously 'racism story for the racists' is such an overdone cliche, Jesus Christ.. I feel like such a fuck that this stupid ass thing appeared in my goddamn dream *shudder*
* And the only impact that part of the dream had on any of the rest was that I apparently unlocked that protagonist as a skin?? Like literally suddenly a character select screen in my jrpg aliens dream. Apparently she was like the original guildmaster or something and that's why everyone disrespected pacman, cos he was the new replacement. So like.. She noped so hard out of racism dream that she landed in alien dream and apparently had a long and successful career as a jrpg space marine. Well at least thats mildly a more optimistic ending?
* A COMPLETELY UNRELATED DREAM AGAIN which was like the symbol of how much I miss my baby sister that I never got to see again after I left my abusive parents. I was playing as someone or other who had to look after a little sister and I think I was at a post apocalyptic version of Glastonbury music festival??? (I guess cos my grandma lived near there??)
And I just remember I had to take the lil sis to the bathroom but when I opened each porta potty it was everything except a bathroom. The closest I managed to get was this non euclidean structure of chrome sinks and nothing else, just a wall of sinks fused together like Tetris blocks.
So somehow I found one door in the infinite line of inter dimensional porta potties that led to Lockerroom Panic Memories. Ah, the horror of being a young in-denial trans kid not even knowing why you feel terrified changing in the girls room. :(
So yeah thankfully it was all empty and I mean I'm an adult now so its not the same sort of scary. It was just like that hallway from willy wonka where it keeps getting smaller until you get trapped. But eventually we did manage to find the door to the gym, and then back into the main school building where we could find the bathrooms.
And then I realised that all this time my baby sister was 5 centimetres tall and inside a block of butter (???) and it was like those grows-in-water toys??? So I was like 'darn I should have stuck with the sink wall' cos this one was a wall of only toilets.
Then I woke up.
So overall I didn't wake up in a panic cos my weird nightmare decided to end on a funny note?? Well OK then???
Anyway I need 2 try and get back 2 sleepe
