Episode 25: The One where They Frolic in the Forest but like, Sad This Time

Okay folks, buckle up bc this one has a lot of Hetero Drama and Stupid Plot Things

But look!! I’ve made it to the halfway point of the show!! I’m so proud of myself

We’re gonna skip as much of that as possible

BUT this one has some EPIC moments to make up for it

We start at Lotus Pier

except for how our resident Disaster Het jzx comes by to invite the jiang clan to the jin clan’s awesome sleepover with sweet sweet party games

WE’RE AT AN ARCHERY COMPETITION!!

I guess that’s how they open sleepovers in Ancient Fantasy China?

LWJ AND WWX ARE STANDING NEXT TO EACH OTHER

OUR BOYS ARE SHARING SCREEN TIME!! WITHOUT HURTING US!!!

And here the jin clan bring out their wen prisoners bc they think it’s fun to place them in front of the targets??? anD THEY GET AWAY WITH IT??

Since he couldn’t get the super special forehead ribbon, he uses one of his own wrist ribbon things to blindfold himself

Please take a moment to appreciate the fact thAT HE WAS GONNA USE THE SACRED FOREHEAD RIBBON TO BLINDFOLD HIMSELF, THE KINKY BASTARD

Wwx: nbd nbd, imma just shoot 5 arrows whilst blindfolded and hit every bullseye there is WITHOUT harming any of these innocent war victims.

It’s all in the twirl, baby

He does a Dramatic Twirl, Smirks™ and then releases those arrows like nothing

And afterwards he has this proud little grin on his face bc hell yeah, he just owned jzx’s smug ass AND prevented any harm from falling on innocent people

Also, LOL, NMJ’S REACTION TO THIS WAS GREAT

He sees wwx be a badass with a bow and arrow and immediately turns to lxc next to him with an expression like HOLY FUCKING SHIT, DID YOU SEE THAT, THAT WAS AWESOME and starts clapping like a madman

For future reference, this is the correct response to wwx all the time, I’M SO PROUD OF YOU BB

After all that, wwx struts back to stand next to lwj and gives him a proud little smile. It’s so cute, so cute.

Now we’re in the forest!! For hunting reasons!!

Wwx makes himself comfy by a tree and plays Magic Music on his demon flute and is all pretty while doing it and supposedly gets all this prey to jump into Jiang nets

we never actually see this happen but everyone says it happened and who am i to argue?

(actually i like to argue one-sidedly at the screen a lot but this was not important enough so whatever)

Also, side note, jc is KILLIN IT with his fashion choices in this ep. LOOKIN GOOD BRO

But we don’t care about any of this

We care that WWX SUDDENLY SPOTS LWJ WALKING ALL ALONE IN THE FOREST AND HIS WHOLE ENTIRE FACE LIGHTS UP LIKE THE FREAKING SUN BC HE’S SO HAPPY TO SEE HIS SOULMATE

IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL

And then it gets sad. Sad times in the forest :(

Wwx was totally making a move to get lwj’s attention but he stops himself

Bc he remembers the conversation he had with lxc about how the ones he cares about can be hurt by his decisions

Thank goodness lwj notices him back

Wwx looks so surprised but also pleased the lwj sees him

And ofc lwj does not hesitate to go to wwx

BC THEY LOVE EACH OTHER AND ARE SOULMATES

“you’re home.”

* here’s some soft parrlyn because i have one personality trait. but there’s also a bit of anne/kat big sis/little sis because that’s my shit. enjoy. let me know what you think *

anne has had a trip to france planned for a couple of months now, and she is bouncing off the walls excited about it. she wants to travel back to the place where she spent a lot of her childhood just to see if any of the things she remembers are still there all these years later. the one thing she is not so excited about is leaving her girlfriend. she and catherine have been attached at the hip for months, considering they work and live together. when the day comes that anne is meant to be leaving, all the queens accompany her to the airport. she is going to be gone for a week so everyone is a mess.

“anne, are you sure you have everything? your chargers, pants, shampoo?” jane worries.

“jane i am a grown woman!! yes i have everything. thank you but i have to go!!”

“okay. i love you! be safe!” jane exclaims as she pulls anne in for a tight hug.

“don’t get in any trouble, boleyn.” cleves warns. anne rolls her eyes and reaches her arms out to hug her friend. cleves accepts and squeezes anne lovingly.

aragon sends her off with well wishes and a quick hug. when it’s kat’s turn, kat looks at anne with sad eyes, and anne whispers “stoppp. i’m only gonna be gone a week babes. i’ll be back before you know it!”

“annie i’m gonna miss you so much, and i’m gonna have to deal with catherine complaining about you being gone too!!” she groans.

anne laughs and opens her arms, gesturing for the dramatic girl to give her a hug before she leaves. “come here.”

kat wraps her arms tightly around anne’s waist, and anne throws her arms around kat’s neck. they stay this way in sweet silence, just enjoying each other for one last time before having to leave each other. kat breaks the silence and whispers in anne’s ear. “i love you so much. please be safe.”

anne smiles weakly into kat’s hair and responds with, “i love you little sis. i’ll bring something back for you.” she lowers her voice a little and adds “and kitkat. take care of catherine for me, okay?”

the moment that everyone was dreading is here. it is catherine’s turn to say goodbye. anne looks over, and catherine runs up to her and wraps her up in a warm, familiar hug. she blinks back tears as she says “i know it’s only a week but i don’t want to spend a single day without you. you’re my best friend.” anne looks up at the other queens to signal that they wanted to be alone for a moment. they understood the cue, and they left to go wait in the car.

anne pulls away from catherine and lifts her head so she’s looking her in the eyes. “my girl.” she says smiling through tears. “i will be thinking about you everyday, and i will miss you everyday. i’ll text you and call you and facetime you. this week will be over soon enough, but i have to do this. i have to see it again.”

catherine slowly nods, and she mumbles “okay..” she understands, but she wishes she could go with her.

“okay?”

catherine nods again. anne pulls her into another hug and reassures her. “before you know it, you’ll be back here to pick me up. i love you more than anything my sweet.”

catherine sniffles and replies “i love you more.”

anne reluctantly lets go of catherine and picks up her bag. “never,” she says as she walks towards her gate.

A WEEK LATER

it is time for catherine and kat to leave for the airport where their beloved anne boleyn will be waiting. kat laces up her shoes at lightning speed while catherine quickly throws her curls up into a messy bun.

catherine’s drives jane’s car, and kat sits shotgun excitedly bouncing her leg the whole drive. “kat! calm down you’re making me nervous!!” with a frown, kat stops bouncing and starts wringing her hands instead. after what feels like an eternity to them, they make it to the airport. they quickly park the car and rush inside so they can wait for anne.

catherine can’t hide her excitement. a smile grows on her face despite her efforts to suppress it, and she exclaims, “UGH! i can’t wait to see her cute face.”

a look of mock disgust falls on kat’s face and she says “ew?”

a few minutes pass, and kat screams “THERE SHE IS!!” pointing towards the girl practically running towards them.

pure joy lights up catherine’s face as she lays eyes on anne. she jumps up from her seat and runs to her, leaping into her arms like a koala when she reaches her. anne squeezes her like she hasn’t seen her in a year.

“i missed you so much annie. you can’t leave like that again. i can’t go without your hugs that long.”

catherine leans back and looks at anne with the catherine parr sparkle in her eyes. smiling wide, she whispers, “you’re home.”

anne beams, her eyes glancing down to catherine’s lips. “i am. your arms feel like home.”

catherine kisses her softly, but passionately. time seems to slow down, as the two women are happier than they’ve ever been. the moment is interrupted by a jarring “OKAYYYYY. IT’S MY TURN NOW!!” from a distressed kat. catherine jumps down, and anne giggles.

“come here kitkat.”

kat squeals and runs into anne’s outstretched arms. catherine laughs as kat screams, “I LOVE YOU SO MUCHHHH I HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL YOUUUU!!”

after a few more seconds of laughing, anne states, “okay. let’s go home my loves. i’m ready to sleep in my own bed again.”

without thinking, catherine whispers, “i’m ready to sleep in your bed again too.” there was a few seconds of silence before kat interjects.

“AGAIN. EW?????”

At first pilot, but a little later it developped into wanting to become a pilot for the Air Force here in the Netherlands.
