It's strange seeing your lover but not truly seeing them. Next to you under the dim porch light , sits Sunghoon with a cold glass of water.
The glass is frosty with condensation, droplets trickle down the boy's fingertips and your throat is flooded with an onset of emotions. His wrist must hurt from being in a rigid position for so long but there is no courage inside you that could take the glass from him.
It should be Sungjin next to you, but it's not- it's his identical twin brother. Park Sunghoon. The shadow. The ghost. The one no one talks about in family dinners, and often forget to message Happy Birthday!
Sunghoon lingers a comfortable distance, near enough for you to feel his warm yet far enough for you two appear as friends. He's always been respectful towards you, never dared to bring you discomfort, subtly looked out for you when he knew his brother was ignorant to your moods. Though, his kind actions never missed your radar.
Common sense urges you to thank him for the water, take the glass from him and down it in one go to prevent another pitiful crying session. But, your eyes are already misty. Sunghoon seem to doesn't mind the wait. You sniffle.
For eons the silence between your bodies stretches on. The house is vibrant with life and colour, muffled cheers and laughter resonate periodically. The wooden floor you took salvation in vibrates with bass.
Inside everyone in the Park family is celebrating Sungjin's new job across the country and you're bleeding out on the porch. Not alone in misery though, as it seems.
You almost don't recognise yourself when you speak, voice scratchy.
"I wish I never found out".
"Don't say that", Sunghoon whispers harshly. It almost floats away in the breeze but you catch it. You always caught his low murmurs and comments whispered under his breath.
Head heavy with shame you bow to nothing in particular. The deities must be laughing at you. How stupid were you really?
There's a shuffle as Sunghoon comes closer, his dry hand rests on your knee, warm, anchoring. the flame in your heart flickers dangerously.
From your peripheral, you eye him up and down.
His features look exactly like Sungjin's. Soft sloped nose sealed with a beauty mark near the ends, strong prominent eye brows and pouty plush lips. Though Sungjin has shorter hair that doesn't curl behind his ears, bleached so many times in his youth the ends are dry. Sunghoon doesn't have a mole on his left ear, a slight crooked canine or a rumble in his voice.
But Sungjin doesn't look at you like this. Hasn't looked at you like this- in years.
Brown eyed Sunghoon looks at you as if you're the most wonderful person he's ever seen. What swims in his pupils is fondness and a hint of worry, of protectiveness.
Sungjin looked at you as if he wished you were someone else. Almost as if he was trying his hardest to envision the doe eyed girl-who lived across the country-you caught him with.
And maybe you're a hypocrite for crying over him and whining about how he wronged you. Because your mind reels you back to occasions where you met his family, in those small moments where you disappeared in the background as Sungjin took the stage, or when Sungjin wasn't breathing down your neck for wearing a sleeveless dress, you caught yourself staring at Sunghoon.
Alone and silently wandering near the kids table. In those moments, it was only you and Sunghoon, trapped in a second together. A sweet secret moment where you truly saw him. Even if the adults didn't. Though, those moments lasted short, filled with Sunghoon rapidly asking you questions and your responding as quick, throwing in a joke or two, aware that something in the interaction would eventually become a secret inside joke. A fond jest he'd refer to during the next reunion, perhaps when he'd find you in the kitchen or when he'd raise his eyebrows at you from across the room. The pair of you trapped in time as all around you blurred past.
The feeling was mutual, it was pure, it was fondness, it was nothing serious.
"I wish I fell for you instead", your body moves on autopilot and you can't believe what you had just said. Shocked at the self discovery, a battle begins within you. Your face is warm with shame and guilt for roping him in your emotions, but you're relieved at the birth of the sentence. It was like finally confronting your reflection. Your heart felt lighter but your face heat up with shame.
Saying it out loud unsheathed the hidden truth, forced you to come in terms with the bitter reality. Sungjin stopped loving you when he was accepted as an intern in another city, maybe along the quiet days and lonely nights, you forgot how to love. Confused love for a routine, to be the polite, pretty partner wrapped around his arm.
Sunghoon sucks in a deep breath. His blown out pupils hide under his lids, lips pulled in a taunt line. Then he goes limp.
He slouches over his long legs clad in a black trouser, elbows resting on his knees.
Sunghoon's head hangs low, dark hair covering his face yet through the gaps of locks you see his eyes and his long yearning desires. His fingers, red from the cold sensation are numb, intentionally tipping the glass until water splatters on the chipped off wooden stairs. He lets the angle of his hand pour water until the amount doesn't reach the tip. Until it stops and the liquid can only slosh in the container.
Half full, half empty.
You glance at the small darkening spot, the wood dutifully soaking it all in. Then, stare at Sunghoon. Lip caught between his teeth, his eyes stare blankly at the ground but you drown in the abyss of despair and temptation inside them.
"I wish you fell for me too".

hello my loves 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
it's been.....honestly a bit since i made a big post! october, right before my birthday! i've been super busy with offline (and sometimes even other online) stuff since, so i apologize for neglecting you guys for a bit without notice, even if i was still getting things up! i intended to make more posts like this much more often and ended up not being able to, i'm so sorry y'all!
but! it's almost christmas and the new year! which feels sort of insane! i hope you're all staying cozy (or cool, for southern hemisphere friends), and have some fun plans for the upcoming holidays depending on what you celebrate, but especially the new year! 💕✨
admittedly there aren't tons of updates, the calendar isn't up to date actually on the desktop theme (and the month is almost over so 😬 january's will be, i promise!), but! as i said earlier today, the christmas concert from last night is up here, sungjin's solo concert stream is here, and if you wanna find a little bit of everything, you can find that here. i'm gonna try and actually upload sungjin's songs to the blog here again, the copyright system was really finicky when he released it and prevented it a bit, but i'm determined! so! hopefully it'll be up! but as a reminder if you ever wanna throw the songs on your phone via not a streaming service, you can find things right here! remember you're free to request any unreleased or unofficial songs as well to throw in there and up on here! not sure which ones you guys really want, so just let me know and i'm happy to do it as well as any video content you wanna see, i'm always down to at least hunt.mp3 for it 😉
with the incoming new year, i'm hoping to be able to do more with you guys! i had so many plans i wasn't able to follow through on this year for you all because of offline things, which really sucks, because you guys are so so so important to me! like, we're almost at 500 followers?? which is so crazy to me!! what!!!! i definitely want to do something for all of you coming soon, so keep an eye out (which i've been saying, i know, i'm so so sorry y'all)! i'm also hoping to keep up with you guys via posts like this again more often, i really missed it! i love you all and i'm always so thankful, and i hope to find ways to show that more in 2025!
speaking of, i hope i'll be seeing you next year on tour! i'll be at night two in los angeles, so if you happen to see me, come say hi! i'm pretty stoked considering it's my first time seeing the boys and going to la, so i imagine it's bound to be memorable and so so special 💕 i'll also be seeing stray kids in atlanta (my first time there!), so if you're there, make sure to come say hi!
it's been a super long year, but i hope it treated you with the kindness and love you deserve, and i hope the things that were troubling weren't too damaging 💕 the new year is always a bright, clean start, so if things didn't quite go your way before, i hope you're able to achieve that this coming year and that it's filled with so much happiness and good health and laughter and good music, although i think the boys have that under control 💕
happy holidays and happy new year, i love you guys so so so so much, and thank you for sticking around and not teasing me too much when i definitely reblog the wrong things here (that happened so often this year. oh my god.), and if you're new, thank you for finding this little corner 💕 take care of yourselves and stay happy and healthy, my loves.
love love love,
tay 💕💕💕💕

Fourever 🍀 Didn't Know
Hiiii~ this is me again. I really want you to write about their song "don't know" from their Fourever album. It's like she fell first, but he fell too late kinda trope. Just by thinking of it, I know you'd really do a good story.
I already imagined Brian as the ml 🤭🤭
<3
Thank you so much for your patience, lovely anon! I hope you like it 💜
Genre: Small Town!AU, Unrequited Love, Angst
Pairing: Young K (Brian) x You (Female!Reader)
Words: 3,760
A/N: This is a continuation of the Let Me Love You story.
Welcome to the Show 🍀 Happy 🍀 The Power of Love 🍀 Get the Hell Out 🍀 Sad Ending 🍀 Let Me Love You 🍀 Didn't Know
Tumblr media
I didn't know that was your love I didn't know that was how it was back then It was so natural that we were always together I didn't think it was special How are you doing now? I think I know a little bit more now The answer you wanted to convey I understood it until after it was over
A Long Time Ago
Brian hopped from one foot to the other as he waited for Sungjin (or anyone in Sungjin's family) to come to the door. He'd knocked already, but he had extremely urgent news to share, and it felt like he'd been waiting here forever. So, he started to knock once more, his eyes widening as the door open before he finished.
"Oh, hey, Brian," Sungjin answered casually.
Brian couldn't wait a second longer. "There's a moving van next door!"
Sungjin furrowed his brow and leaned outside, peering at the house in between Brian's house and his own. There was, indeed, a moving van parked in the driveway.
"Neat," Sungjin commented with a slight smile. "Did you see anyone?"
"I think I saw a kid around our age," Brian began, but then he scrunched his features in distaste. "But I also think she's a girl."
Sungjin's shoulders slumped, and Brian knew exactly how he felt. The two boys had been friends for a few years now, ever since they'd started school; while their friendship was practically perfect, they'd both been itching to create a friendship trio. For some reason, having a third person just felt right, like they would complete the friendship somehow.
But a girl? Who wanted to be friends with a girl?
So, Sungjin simply stepped aside to invite Brian in, and they both dashed to the living room to play their favorite video game of the month.
Once the weekend was over, Brian trudged down his driveway toward the bus stop, his bookbag slung over one shoulder.
It's not that he hated going to school -- quite the opposite, in fact -- he just hated not being asleep right now.
He perked up when he saw Sungjin on the corner of the street, though, and he perked up yet again when he saw Sungjin wasn't alone.
Oh yeah! There was a new neighbor! He'd completely forgotten about her -- most likely because it was a her. But, still.
So, Brian picked up the pace, jogging briskly to the bus stop to join his friend.
"Morning," he greeted once he got close enough.
Sungjin turned around, a smile blooming on his face. "Hey, Bri," he said. And then he turned back around to face his fellow bus stop occupant and added, "That's Brian, my friend I was telling you about. He lives on the other side of your house. Brian, this is Y/N, our new neighbor."
Brian raised a hand to wave at you, and you grinned somewhat shyly at him.
When the bus arrived, Sungjin sat next to you while Brian sat behind you; he leaned forward the whole time so he wouldn't miss any part of your conversation, his chin resting on yours and Sungjin's seatback. If Sungjin had decided to talk to you, then Brian would, too.
As the day went on, it turned out that Sungjin had decided to show you all around school -- even eat lunch with you! So, Brian did, too. And by the end of the day, it kind of felt like you'd always been there. Brian almost forgot he'd had reservations about you because you were a girl. Maybe girls weren't so bad after all? Or at least you weren't.
Your way of speaking was warmer than anyone else You were more happy than me The tears that you shed with me I didn't know that was your love Your expression that was awkward but exceptional The confession that I turned over as a joke The last greeting that you said to be happy I didn't know it was love at that time
As the years passed, Brian had to frequently remind himself how lucky he was to have the two best friends in the world. To him, you and Sungjin were simply part of his everyday life. But when he noticed that other people's friends weren't by their side 24/7, he knew just how lucky he actually was.
Sungjin was there to give him advice during tough situations and when Brian had to make hard decisions. Sungjin was there when all Brian wanted to do was play video games as a way to escape from the stresses of real life. And when Brian randomly decided he wanted to learn how to play the bass guitar? Sungjin said he'd always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, too.
And you were always there to stop him from making very embarrassing fashion statements. You were there to laugh and cheer him on when he and his classmates made up the stupidest math dance ever. You were there, by his side, almost every single time he'd ever cried -- and you cried right along with him, no matter what the tears were for.
It never, ever crossed his mind that things would change. That things ever could change. Not with the Three Musketeers.
But then they did, and Brian hadn't even seen it coming.
The three of you were in your final year of University -- you'd all gone to the same school, of course, and Sungjin and Brian had been roommates every year -- and things had been perfect. None of you had failed any of your classes, you'd all made some new friends while still maintaining the bond of the Three Musketeers, and Brian really hadn't thought things could get better when he'd started dating Justine, the girl from his Calculus class he'd been crushing on since the first day of class.
But then he came home from a date one night to an empty apartment, called Sungjin to find out where he was, and... everything changed.
"...Oh," he said after a few moments of silence.
Because how else was he supposed to react to what Sungjin had just told him?
"Yeah, and if you ever let on that you know, I'm going to --"
"Yeah, I get it," Brian interrupted, sighing under his breath. "I'll see you later, then?"
Sungjin hummed, and Brian quickly ended the call.
...You liked him?
You. You had... feelings? For him?
How? Why? Since when?
Sungjin had sworn him to secrecy, so he couldn't even ask you. He could potentially try to pry the answers out of Sungjin, but he'd also mentioned on the phone that you were trying to get over your crush, so it wouldn't be helpful to bring it up again. Right?
Brian would just have to try and forget he knew anything.
But, of course, as he lay in bed that night, he found himself thinking back to every interaction he'd had with you lately. Had the signs been obvious and he'd missed them? Had your smiles been different than normal? Had your 'have fun!' and 'good luck!' texts before his dates with Justine just been a cover? When he'd stress cried the other week, had you been crying sympathetically, as you'd always done? Or had you been crying because you... loved him?
In one way, he felt like a total idiot. Looking back on things, it should have been obvious. But in another way, there's no way he could've been able to tell. You truly hadn't acted any differently lately! You'd always been such a kind, supportive, and caring friend, and when it really came down to it, he couldn't pinpoint when you'd started developing feelings for him. Nothing had changed!
Except, in actuality, everything had changed. And he would have to act like it hadn't. He would have to act like he didn't know and everything was still normal, was still as it had always been.
Do you still laugh a lot these days? I miss your bright smile The jokes that we shared My lighthearted self from that time now weighs heavily on me
Maybe it was dramatic to think this but deciding to break the promise he'd made with you and Sungjin to move back to your small hometown after graduating from University had been the most difficult decision of his life.
Part of the reason it had been so difficult was because Brian felt he couldn't ask Sungjin for advice like he usually did.
After that phone call, Brian had fully committed to acting as if Sungjin had never said anything. It had been... strange. And each time he'd found himself unconsciously becoming distant, he'd sent a text to the group chat asking who had time to hang out.
By the time graduation had rolled around, he and Justine had been dating for over half a year. He had met her parents, and she had met his. He'd told her 'I love you' for the first time a couple of months prior. In other words, their relationship had gotten pretty serious.
So, when Justine had suggested he move back to her hometown with her, it really hadn't been that out of the blue.
Still, though. It had taken him by surprise because the idea of not moving back with you and Sungjin had never once entered his mind.
He'd thought about it long and hard. He'd weighed out the pros and cons. He'd lost many hours of sleep. And, finally, he'd settled on moving with Justine.
If you had really had strong feelings for him, the best thing he could think to do was to keep his distance -- quite literally -- so you had a chance to get over him. Plus, he could still visit, text, and call you both all the time. And what he had with Justine also wasn't something he was willing to give up. Sure, they could've tried long distance, but in Brian's opinion, it was much easier to keep up a long-distance friendship than it was a long-distance relationship.
So, he'd moved away. He'd found a job in this new city and moved into an apartment with his girlfriend.
And, looking back even now, he had no regrets. He'd learned and grown so much as a person, and once the learning and growing had stopped, he'd ended the relationship and moved back here after over five years away, not even counting his time in University.
To be honest, he barely thought about the fact that you'd once had feelings for him. As soon as he moved back (into the same apartment complex as you and Sungjin, of course), things with the Three Musketeers had gone back to normal.
Brian would be lying if he said he didn't notice a tiny shift in your and Sungjin's friendship, though, but that was to be expected. The two of you had spent probably every day with each other for more than five years, so there's no way you wouldn't have grown closer to each other than you were to Brian.
Something else he noticed was how much he'd missed you -- more than he'd realized, honestly. The first time you'd laughed at something he'd said, the sound had warmed his heart. It was strange because it's not like he hadn't seen you since moving away! He had! That certainly hadn't been the first time he'd heard you laugh in years, but it felt that way.
And that had been when he'd decided to try his hardest to go back to the way things used to be -- before Justine, before your feelings, before University even! Things had been perfect back then, and he was determined to make them perfect once more.
There's no going back Even if I keep looking back I tell you, but you aren't here I was in love We were in love Leaving the time is far away That I can't return to
Isn't it funny how, no matter what age you are, you can always look back on your younger self and shake your head and go 'Oh, you sweet child, you were so dumb and had no idea what you were talking about'?
Brian had been so set on turning back time and recreating the friendship dynamic the Three Musketeers had growing up, before the complications of young adulthood and University life had... well, complicated things.
Obviously, that hadn't happened.
But it was okay!
After Brian moved back home, as time went on, the three of you had built a new friendship together. It was definitely different and new, but it was still beautiful.
And, to be honest, over the years, he'd kind of forgotten that you'd ever had feelings for him.
Then, one day not too long ago, Brian had received a text from Justine. He had been over at your place for a movie night (Sungjin had been having dinner with his parents), and normally, he wouldn't have opened a text from anyone during movie night... but you had been at your front door accepting the pizza delivery, so he'd pressed on the notification.
He hadn't been expecting anything out of the blue -- he and Justine were still friendly and spoke to each other every so often. So, when he opened the text and saw a picture of Justine's left hand adorned with a rather large diamond ring, he'd actually let out a "Whoa!"
"What?" you asked, sliding the pizza boxes on your coffee table and plopping down next to him on the couch.
Brian tilted his phone so you could see and said, "Justine's engaged, I guess."
"Wow!" you chuckled. "Congratulations to her. Who's the lucky guy?"
"One of her brother's friends, I think," Brian shrugged, sending a quick 'Congrats!' reply before sliding his phone back into his pocket. "I never met him."
As Brian leaned forward to open the pizza box and grab a slice, he saw your concerned expression out of the corner of his eye.
"...Are you okay?" you asked quietly.
"Hmm?" Brian hummed. "Oh, yeah, of course. Justine and I are cool, I'm happy for her."
You let out a soft chuckle and moved to get your own slice of pizza. "I don't think I could ever be cool with an ex," you admitted. "Especially not someone I dated for, like, ever."
"It was six years -- okay, yeah, that's a long time," Brian smirked. "I don't know, there's nothing to not be cool about, I guess."
"Wait, speaking of. Hasn't it been almost that same amount of time since you broke up?" you asked.
Brian's forehead wrinkled as he thought, and then he simply nodded.
"You haven't dated anyone yet? Anyone? What's up with that?"
"Nothing's up with that!" he scoffed, playfully shoving your leg with his foot. "I've been busy, okay! And, honestly, look who's talking. I don't recall you telling me about going on any dates recently!"
You shrugged and took a bite of your pizza, but Brian could've sworn he saw your mouth twitching up into a shy smile.
"Come on, spill," Brian nudged.
"There's nothing to spill!" you assured him.
You were avoiding his gaze, though, so Brian knew you weren't being entirely truthful. Oh well -- he would drop it for now since you obviously weren't ready to share.
It wasn't until after he'd left your apartment later that evening that he realized he was still thinking about your reaction to his dating question.
You were definitely hiding something... but what? What could you possibly not be comfortable sharing with him?
...Unless?
No, it couldn't be.
Could it?
The reason you hadn't shared any details about your romantic life with him surely couldn't be that... you still... had feelings for him. Right?
He vividly remembered what it felt like when Sungjin had told him all those years ago that you'd had feelings for him: his heart had dropped like lead because he'd felt so bad. He hadn't questioned whether or not he'd returned your feelings because there had been nothing to question. He simply hadn't seen you as anything other than one of his very best friends.
But thinking about it now... wondering if maybe your feelings had resurfaced... it was certainly a different experience. His heart didn't feel anything like a hunk of lead. It hadn't dropped down into his stomach, and he didn't feel sorry for you.
Of course, none of that meant anything, but he figured he would let these thoughts marinate for a bit and see what happened. He would keep a watchful eye and a listening ear out to try and pick up on any other signs that you might like him again -- as more than a friend.
It took approximately three weeks and four days for Brian to conclude that you most likely did like him again -- as more than a friend. Short of telling him straightforwardly, the majority of your words, actions, and body language all pointed to romantic feelings.
I mean, maybe he was just imagining things, but your smiles around him seemed brighter than normal. Your laughs seemed extra loud. You couldn't go ten minutes without resting your hand on his arm or shoulder or just brushing or leaning against him.
The kicker was when the two of you had yet again gotten on the topic of dating. Brian had been talking to Sungjin earlier that evening about setting him up with one of his co-workers, and after Sungjin had left, Brian had (maybe not so subtly) asked if you wanted to be set up, too. He had plenty of single co-workers!
You turned him down, which honestly seemed like you wanted Brian to dig deeper.
"Oh?" he questioned, tilting his head curiously. "And why not? You don't trust me to set you up with someone?"
"No, it's not that," you replied with a chuckle. "I just... don't need to be set up with anyone right now."
Brian quirked an eyebrow at you. "What does that mean?"
It's not like you were fresh out of a relationship and trying to get over an ex.
"You're so annoying!" you whined, playfully shoving him. (See? An excuse to touch him). "If you must know, there's someone I have my eye on."
Brian gasped, reaching out to put his hands on your shoulders and turn you to face him head-on. "What? Who? Is this new? Why haven't you said anything?"
"Nosy!" you accused. "It's pretty new... kind of. I mean, I've known him for a while, and I think maybe I've liked him for a while, I just..."
But then you shook his hands off of your shoulders and stepped away.
"Anyway! You don't need the details."
"Uh, yes, I absolutely do," Brian countered.
Because he was pretty sure you were talking about him.
And suddenly, images flashed through his mind of going on a double date: Sungjin and Brian's co-worker with Brian and... you.
He liked you.
Brian liked you.
As more than a friend.
All of this time he'd been spending with you had made him realize just how... perfect you were. You were smart and hilarious and compassionate and beautiful, inside and out. Honestly, he'd been a fool this whole time for never realizing that.
But he was a fool no longer. He recognized how amazing you were, and he wanted to be with you.
He wanted to go on a date with you, and if his hunch was correct, you wanted to go on a date with him, too.
Before he could say anything, though, you made an excuse about picking up something from your parent's house and left Brian's apartment.
Obviously, Brian told Sungjin almost immediately and, from there, began planning out how and when he would confess and ask you out, officially.
He couldn't believe this. Things were actually working out. You had feelings for him, and now, he had feelings for you. At the same time!
Over the next week, Brian tried to drop hints -- the same hints you'd been dropping lately. He smiled extra brightly at you. He laughed extra loudly at your jokes. He touched your arm, shoulder, or hand at any opportunity. And he definitely didn't bring up the idea of setting you up with one of his co-workers again.
Finally, when you sent a text to the Three Musketeers group chat about getting the promotion you'd been gunning for at work, Brian knew the time had come. He suggested going out for pizza the next evening, and that would be the perfect time to confess to you!
He worked it all out with Sungjin beforehand: Brian would go pay, Sungjin would take you out to the parking lot, and once Brian had left the restaurant, Sungjin would get a "text from his mom" asking him to come help her with something. And that's when Brian would take the opportunity to tell you how he felt.
That's when his life would change, when your Happily Ever After would begin.
Brian's heart hammered inside his chest all throughout dinner, and especially when you'd all cleared your plates and he said, "I'm going to go pay, and then I'll meet you guys outside, okay?"
"Deal!" you grinned.
His stomach flipped at your grin. God, you were so pretty. How had he gone over twenty years not seeing just how pretty you were?
Before he left the table, Brian shot Sungjin a Look, and Sungjin nodded once.
It took everything in him not to ask the cashier if she could hurry it up; he silently reminded himself that five extra minutes wouldn't matter in the long run, not when the 'long run' quite literally meant the rest of his life.
In ten years, when the two of you were happily settled and married, neither of you would remember if Brian had confessed to you at 7 PM or 7:05 PM.
Still, though. It wasn't ten years from now, and the two of you were not yet happily settled and married. So, Brian was anxious to get a move on!
When the cashier finally handed over his receipt and thanked him, he dropped a few bills into the tip jar, turned on his heel, and booked it out of there.
His gaze swept over the parking lot as soon as he stepped foot outside, his heart and stomach flipping over when he spotted you and Sungjin.
He took one step toward you... but then...
Everything seemed to happen in slow motion after that.
Brian watched as you lifted your arms and stepped up to Sungjin, pulling him into a tight embrace. He watched as Sungjin returned your hug, his hands grasping you, his arms holding you in a way that could only be described as 'more than friendly.'
What was going on?
You pulled back after just a few moments, but just when Brian thought maybe it had simply been a hug goodbye, you stood on your toes and...
You kissed Sungjin.
Remember when, all those years ago when Sungjin told him that you were trying to get over your feelings for Brian and his heart felt like lead?
Well, it felt like that again.
His heart felt like a ton of lead that had just been dropped into the ocean and was now sinking down to the bottom.
You didn't have feelings for him. You had feelings for... Sungjin.
How had he read the situation so wrong? All of your bright smiles, loud laughs, gentle touches had meant nothing?
And what made it all worse was the fact that you'd had feelings for him at one point.
He was just about 10 years too late.

Hi! 22 and 50 with Sungjin. Thank u ❤
Sungjin & 22. “Show me how much you missed me.” + 50. "Please, I can't sit still."
♡ Send me a request!
1.5k words
I couldn't resist writing reader w/ a praise kink. It fit well with the prompt, sorry! Also hereafter if you guys would like to specify who says the dialogue (in case I got it wrong, haha), I don't mind at all.
You were just about to fall asleep on the couch when you heard the front door of your apartment unlock – Sungjin was finally home. He'd been gone on a work trip for the last two weeks, and you'd whiled away the time trying to meet your deadlines, watching movies and texting him whenever the both of you were free. But in spite of regular contact, what you missed the most was his touch. The way he would put his arms around you when sitting together, feeling his warmth as you slept on your shared bed, and of course, the more intimate moments.
It'd been so long since you felt his fingers in you, or sucked him off, or even kissed him. Two weeks, yes – but when it came to Sungjin, even one day without his touch had you experiencing withdrawals.
So when he walked into the apartment, you jolted awake and ran over to give him a hug; he was dressed in a simple suit but you couldv'e sworn he had gotten more handsome in the past two weeks.
You relaxed completely as soon as you felt his arms around you, one of his hands coming to stroke your hair like it always did. You loved that little habit he had whenever he hugged you. "Hey, sweetheart," you could hear the smile in his voice.
"Sungjin, god, I missed you so much," you warbled into his chest, taking in his warmth, hugging him tighter.
"I know, I know, me too..." he cooed, closing the door with his foot for privacy.
After a minute or two, Sungjin kissed the top of your head as he tried to pull away, but you didn't move. You felt more than heard the deep chuckle that came from him, before he said, "I'm all yours, baby. Just let me freshen up and I'll be with you in five minutes."
You reluctantly let him go into the bathroom, knowing that he couldn't fully relax till he was clean. You could appreciate that about him.
After five agonising minutes, Sungjin emerged in all his wet-haired glory, wearing a loose shirt and shorts. It was embarrassing how turned on you were, but who could blame you? You watched as he shook a towel on his hair and put his used clothes in the laundry basket. You admired his legs and strong arms, the way his shirt spiked slightly as he dried his hair and, well, everything about him. He was so, so classically handsome, and you were beginning to crave him more and more.
He walked over to the sofa, where you were sitting, but you decided to stand up and meet him halfway instead, catching his amused face before you tiptoed to kiss him. Your hands roamed over his chest and torso, desperate to be closer to him. Sungjin held you by the waist, and the feeling of his hands on you, but not doing anything, was almost enough to make you cry of frustration. You whined helplessly against his lips, grabbing onto his arms.
The kisses grew more passionate, and his hands started to move along your back, causing you to shiver involuntarily. You were getting more worked up by the minute, and you could tell Sungjin was too, by the way he grunted against your lips. Soon enough you were breathless and reluctantly broke the kiss, breathing heavily.
He moved his hand to cup your face. "I missed you." he said again, looking into your eyes with so much love and admiration.
"I missed you more," you said, leaning into his touch. You took his other hand in yours, interlacing your fingers with his.
"Oh, yeah? Show me how much," he smirked.
You were mildly surprised, because you didn't see this playful side of Sungjin often in intimate moments. But you loved to please, so you promptly sunk to your knees in front of him. The slight raise of his eyebrow told you he was taken aback by your eagerness, and the way he looked at you intently was causing an almost unbearable throb between your legs.
You knew, though, that if you were good for him now, he'd be amazing to you later. So you ignored your needs for the time being, and instead slowly moved your hands up his thighs over his boxers. You pulled them down by the waistband, biting your lip as you immediately felt yourself get wetter when you saw his dick in front of you. Sungjin carded a hand through your hair with a lazy smirk on his face; he loved watching your reactions.
You started with a few strokes along his length before you took him in your mouth. He let out a low groan. "Fuck, you feel so good," he said in a tone that made you squeeze your thighs, desperate for some relief.
His grip in your hair tightened as he started to control your movements, picking up the pace. When you went as far down as you could, and your nose pressed against Sungjin's abdomen, he held you there for a bit, and you tried your best to relax your throat to take him in. "Ah, Y/N... you're so good for me, such a good girl."
You interlocked your fingers in an effort to control yourself; to have him praise you like this after what felt like forever was almost torturous. You started to tear up a little as his movements sped up, your eyes fluttering shut as Sungjin continued to guide you on his dick. "Look at me," he commanded, and you glanced up at him through your eyelashes to his handsome face, damp hair falling on his forehead. "Lean back baby, let me fuck your mouth, can you do that for me?"
Of course you could. You loved being good for him, even now, even though you were so desperate to feel him you could cry. You sat back on your heels. Your immediate obedience was intoxicating to Sungjin, you were so eager to please him. "God, you're an angel," he murmured almost to himself; you looked so sweet in this moment, even though his dick was in your mouth. "Tell me if it's too much, okay?"
He bunched up your hair to have better control of you before he thrusted into your mouth, starting slow so he didn't hurt you. You tried your best to keep your eyes open, the view too erotic to miss: Sungjin's head slightly tilted backwards, his mouth occasionally leaving a shaky breath, eyebrows slightly furrowed in concentration. Your knuckles were white from the effort it took to stay still — your panties were soaking at this point and it was obvious how needy you were.
You could tell he was close by his grip on your hair and the soft moans he let out. The sight and sounds in front of you were so sinfully pleasing you almost couldn’t bear it — Sungjin was fucking hot.
He picked up the pace for a time before asking, “Can I cum in your mouth, sweetheart?”, the nickname wildly contradictory to what he was doing with you. You moaned around his dick, which he took as a yes and which brought him to his orgasm.
You swallowed without him asking, which he swore could’ve made him cum again untouched. He tilted your chin to look up at him, moving some stray hair from your face. Sungjin always made an effort to be gentle with you, especially after rougher moments like these.
“You were so good, baby,” he smiled down at you, “do you want anything else? Hm? Let me make you feel good.”
You looked so beautiful with your slightly disheveled hair and flushed cheeks, sitting down and looking up at him with teary eyes. Wait, teary?
On realising you were crying, Sungjin immediately knelt down with concern on his face. He brought his other hand to your face and gently wiped your tears with his thumbs.
“Are you okay, darling? Was I too rough? I’m sorry, I didn’t realise…”
“Please fuck me, Sungjin…”
“…What?”
Your emotions were all over the place, and Sungjin’s clear shock made you want to laugh and cry at the same time. More of the crying though, because you wanted him so bad it was unbearable.
“Need you to fuck me, please, I can't sit still, missed you so much,” you rambled through small sobs, not even caring about how desperate you sounded. It was all true, anyway.
Sungjin closed his eyes with a small chuckle, relieved that he didn’t hurt you. He wondered what incredibly noble thing he might’ve done in another life to deserve someone like you in this one. Saved a country, maybe? “You,” he said, hands moving to hold yours, “are going to be the death of me.”
“I’ll take care of you, baby, don’t worry.”

1999.11 Junior Magazine - NRG article (part 1)
Tumblr media
See the original article online (archived) · part 2
N to the R to the G, the time has come!
NRG
We'll show you the most NRG-like NRG!
The three rascals, NRG, have finally finished working on their 3rd album and are awaiting a comeback. The group, who say that the long wait must've raised fans' expectations, worked harder than on their first two albums to fill the space of the two members who left; they're spending their days busily and with excitement. We talked with them about their third album and looked into their sharpness and wits. Coverage: Im Jae-hyeon / Photography: Han Jun
Hwansung, Sunghoon, and Yoomin, the three rascals of NRG, have finally finished working on their 3rd album and plan to have their comeback stage on the 30th. As soon as they arrived at the studio, the three started complaining about how they didn't get any sleep. Come to think of it, their former energetic selves had disappeared, and seeing them weak and lifeless even evoked a slight feeling of sympathy. With the two oldest members, Sungjin and Myunghoon, gone, their thoughts after wrapping up production for their 3rd album can't help but be unique.
"I feel relieved, but also disappointed. When we were working on the album, I was tired and wanted things to end quickly, but now that it's over I feel something's missing. Compared to our first two, it was harder without the two older members, but since I've done this before I think I was able to work on it more comfortably." (Hwansung)
"I'm worried at the thought of releasing the album to our fans. I feel obligated to show an upgrade from before. Since we worked hard, I think the results will be good." (Sunghoon)
"This time around, I did a lot of rapping, and I paid much more attention to my pronunciation than before. We all worked harder than ever for the older members' absences to not show. So, fans, feel free to anticipate a lot." (Yoomin)
Not just that, but Yoomin and Sunghoon, who recently celebrated their 19th birthdays, had to spend them in the recording studio in order to produce the album.
"This year, I didn't even get to eat seaweed soup.[1] Working on the album made me dead tired, so I didn't have time to spare to celebrate my birthday. But I'm thankful that many fans sent me kitty plushies, poetry books, and food." (Yoomin)
"When I woke up in the morning, it was pitch dark outside. I must've been tired because I had been recording until late the previous night. Though I might not have had a birthday party, it's fortunate that I was able to finish work on the 3rd album without a hitch. My birthday will come again next year, but production on this album will only happen once." (Sunghoon)
While they were so busy they couldn't even celebrate their birthdays, the thing that NRG struggled with the most was sleep deprivation. They recorded until dawn, then as soon as they woke up the next day, they practiced their dance and recorded again... Having spent months of their lives on recordings and dance practice, NRG have their hopes up for this album as it is their first after reorganizing.
The track all of the members have affection for on this 10-song album is "Salvation", composed by Chun Myunghoon. It is a crossover hip-hop song with critique of the world and a message of salvation from it. The title track will be chosen between "Salvation" and "Face", which was written by Shin Yeong-jeong and composed by Lee Jeong-hoon, and they plan to show a powerful dance that is distinctly their own and a clean but "techno" image.
NRG await their comeback on October 30. Let's anticipate that this album will be their most NRG-like album, and pay attention to the activities of the 2nd NRG as a group recognized for their skills.

1: In Korea, seaweed soup (or miyeok-guk) is traditionally eaten on one's birthday.

bro... that sungjin and wonpil car ride to camping trip made me tear up a little bit. I loved and STILL love these guys so much, but I've always had a special affection for sungjin and wonpil as besties. they've been friends for so long and they're so seemingly opposite, but they lived together, they slept in the same room even, and they care for each other in their own ways. when wonpil got in sungjin's car he said "oh... this feels familiar" because they used to go on long drives together for fun!!!!!!!!! and there was a period of time when they didn't do it and sungjin said he missed wonpil not being in the passenger seat choosing the music to play. I have not visited this part of my brain for so long but it's still etched in here because I found their friendship so lovely. without noticing, so much time has passed between these two, and between day6 in general. they've all completed their military service, and are continuing to perform and practice together. It felt like two days ago when wonpil was crying on live announcing his enlistment, and now he's eating tangerines with sungjin. I've liked these guys since they were in their early 20s, and now they're entering their 30's, and I know time passes by as it always will but seeing these people that created such a buzz in my life still active, still comfortable, still thriving makes me so happy.

there you'll be || day6 [psj]
Warnings: major character death, heavy angst(?)
I won't control you, but MINORS DO NOT INTERACT. This is not for you, please.
Pairings: Park Sungjin/(F) Reader, implied past Yoon Dowoon/(F) Reader
Plot: What if you only have today to say goodbye?
Genre: Established Relationship
I keep a part of you with me,
And everywhere I am, there you'll be
This was written 8-9ish years ago, and re-written and posted on ao3 3 years ago.
This concept came from my sister's dream, and she asked me to write it, and probably the main reason why i decided to have an ao3 account lmao
This was originally written with a different fandom and pairing and was supposed to be a part of this fic universe i wrote (but didn't finish). Re-written so it can be better, I guess (hope)??? but the concept is still the same with some major changes tho
Reposted here because there is a tragic lack of day6/reader fics uwu
anyway, all readers are appreciated! luvluv
🕛
6:00 – 7:00 a.m.
Y/N woke up to an irritating sound. It was this shrill beeping sound that made her want to hurl the object at the wall.
When she opened her eyes, she reached for the alarm clock and turned it off. "Shut up," she said, exhausted, and looked at the time. 6:00 am.
For an ordinary Saturday morning, six am is way too early. After dropping out of the university from her second course and running away with Sungjin, Y/N's life has changed; from the simplest things like her sleeping pattern to the biggest ones like missing her family. She wouldn't say she regrets it, she just wishes the situation was different.
Her usual weekends start at nine, and she always wakes up before Sungjin does. She would often be the one to go down to make breakfast for the two of them.
Sometimes though, when struck with an ahem inspiration, she would wake him with a lazy hand job—or a blowie, whichever she prefers—until he slightly shifts position and fist the bed covers. Slowly peppering his hips with kisses until Sungjin groans in annoyance to whichever is rousing him from his beloved, peaceful sleep. Y/N has to stifle her laughter because she knows just how grumpy he is when woken up 'too early', but how he won't be able to stay mad at her. He'd smile down at her and say in that sexy just-woke-up voice of his that he'd go back to sleep so Y/N can go ahead with what shennanigans she was trying to do.
Today though, that was not the case. She has to get up early because the local high school she volunteers at made a weekend program for writing and music. Every second Saturday, she would be facilitating two classes; a writing workshop in the morning, and the music sessions in the afternoon. Sometimes, she would take Sungjin with her, and he would teach the students how to play the guitar.
After switching the alarm off, Y/N got up and stretched her legs and arms, loving the way her joints popped as sleep from her muscles fade.
It's also during this time of the day, however, that she can't help but think of her life before this.
It has been five years. Y/N is sure her children doesn't recognize her anymore. After running away with the boyfriend of her ex-husband's twin brother, she's sure Dowoon would never let her be a part of their children's lives anymore, no matter how much he used to love her. Betrayal would definitely kill people.
Y/N padded sleepily to the bathroom to take a quick shower.
After getting ready for the day, she went down to cook some breakfast for them. Before leaving the house, she decides to check on Sungjin and wake him up early for his doctor's appointment. He sleeps through the alarm, and might miss his appointment.
She opens the door to their room quietly and see Sungjin's still sleeping form on the bed. She gently shakes him, just enough to wake him up.
"Sungjin?" She shakes him again when he doesn't respond. "Babe? Wake up."
Sungjin hums, cracking an eye open. "I'd be going," she says with a soft smile.
"Hmf... don't you want me to go with you?" He asks sleepily as he rubs his eyes. Y/N shakes her head, running her fingers through his hair.
"It's fine. You have your appointment today with Dr. Park, remember? Wouldn't wanna miss that." Sungjin pouts, and she smiles. "I'll bring home that Kimchi stew you like."
"Yeah?" He smiles at her hopefully through bleary eyes.
"Yes. So get your lazy ass up now, or you'll have to rush again." She slaps his bum and kisses his lips before she stands up. "I'll be home early. Get up now, 'kay? Love you." She shuts the door to the bedroom just in time to hear the faint and almost muffled love you too from Sungjin.
She leaves the house minutes later, not helping the smile on her face. She thinks that at the end of the day, after all the heartbreaks and challenges they had to face, running away with him is always worth it.
9:40 am
Y/N gives the students their second writing exercise for the day. She walks around the room and smiles down at Charlie, one of her favorite students in the writing program. The kid is really talented in writing.
Y/N wonders fleetingly about her twins. She wonders if they will inherit their father's love for music books, or her love for long novels? She puts her arm around the other and smiles to herself. She wants to see her children badly and maybe, just maybe, have some with Sungjin in the future.
10:30 am
Y/N was just about to tell her students to take a 15-minute break when she heard a commotion outside. One of the teachers ran up to her classroom with panic in her eyes. Y/N immediately knew something was wrong.
"What is it?" she asked.
"There's someone with a gun!" It took Y/N a minute to fully get that. "He's in the building. Send your students out."
She didn't need to be told twice. "Class, I need you to leave everything behind and quickly exit the room." She tried to keep her voice even so as not to alarm them. She didn't want them panicking, even though she felt like throwing up.
"Now!" She hoped her students can forgive her for raising her voice (she never does), but now's not the right time to think about that. Both teachers looked out while the students filed out of the room hurriedly.
"Did someone call 911?" she asked as the last student got out of the room. The other teacher's answer was cut short by the sound of gunfire, followed by screaming.
"Go, go, go!" Y/N yelled at the students as they all ran towards the direction of the stairs.
Y/N was nearing the stairs when pain blooms in her shoulder. She didn't dare look back as a second one hits her back, then her leg. That's when she lost her balance, and crumple to the ground face down. She heard more screaming as students ran for their lives before she felt the bullet to her neck, and she's—
12:00 pm
Y/N raises her head from the table with a gasp.
Disoriented, she looks around and blinks. She doesn't know she had been snoozing. Had she been snoozing? It feels like she had only blinked.
Huh.
She looks at the clock; 12:00 pm.
She hears the chatter of the students outside as she sees the essay exercises on her table. When she looks up, however, the classroom is a mess. The students' things are everywhere, and the chairs are all askew.
She remembers the panic and running, but nothing else. What happened after that?
She tries to recall as she flexes her head, pressing lightly at the pain in her neck. Not being able to come up with anything from her bizarre dream(?), she starts to clean up the mess.
1:08 pm
Y/N had successfully cleaned up the messy classroom by herself. She didn't notice that there were no students on the floor anymore. She slung her bag to her back and locked up the classroom.
It wasn't until she reached the second floor that she saw another soul. It was, however, a police officer.
What the...?
She walked towards the man, and called out to him.
"Excuse me?" He didn't seem to notice her. She called out to him again to no avail, the police turning his back on her.
"What the fuck?" Bothered, she continued down to the ground floor, where she saw more police officers.
She tried to talk to another police officer, but she was still ignored. She was getting frustrated and weirded out with each passing second. It's like they cannot see her. She didn't understand what's happening and felt her head spin, eyes prickling with tears of confusion.
She looked around, and finally, one person seemed to see her. The lady was looking straight at her. Relieved, Y/N walked towards her; she didn't know why, but she felt compelled to talk to her.
When she was close to the lady, she tripped a little on her own feet. She looked down and when she looked back up, the lady vanished.
"Looking for me?"
Y/N spun around to reveal the lady that had been staring at her.
"Yes..." Y/N said, torn between feeling embarrassed and confused. "But, you're there before. How...?"
The lady smiled at her. "You have more important questions to be answered, don't you think?" Y/N, who was dumbfounded, had just managed to nod.
"Come with me," the lady said. She turned around and started walking away, not waiting for Y/N to respond.
1:45 pm
Y/N cannot believe her eyes. She, or more accurately, her body, has been lying on a body bag in the quadrangle.
"B-but... h-how...?" She can only stammer in confusion.
This is just not possible. Y/N tries to breathe in and out to stop the spinning of her head, clutching her hands in each other.
She finally turns to the lady beside her, who is still staring at her lifeless body.
"You got killed," she answers Y/N's unspoken obvious question. "You're one of the last people he'd managed to kill before he was taken down by the police."
When the lady points at the bullet hole on her neck, a picture flashes through her mind.
Y/N remembers the pain through her shoulder, then her back and leg. Lastly, she remembers the blinding pain on her neck after falling to the ground.
After long minutes of disbelief, Y/N finds it in her to finally speak, her voice hoarse from the brimming emotions in her eyes. "I'm dreaming, aren't I?"
She badly wants to believe that maybe she was really just dreaming. Maybe this is all just a practical joke. By whom, she doesn't know.
"I'm sorry, Y/N." Her companion just shakes her head. "I'm so sorry."
That was the last straw for Y/N. Tears pour from her eyes as her world comes crashing down and her dreams shatter. She falls to her knees as she sobs her heart out.
She isn't ready to die yet.
Maybe this is payback for everything she did, for everyone she killed.
Sungjin.
How is he supposed to move on? How is she supposed to move on?
"Sungjin." She sniffs. "Don't I even have the chance to say goodbye? I wanna say goodbye to him."
"You only have until before midnight," the lady says.
"Thank you," Y/N replies.
The lady just smiles at her sadly, her eyes telling her that she understands how she feels. She wonders briefly if they had been in the same situation. The lady vanishes right before her eyes, leaving Y/N with a broken heart.
2:50 pm
She looks for Sungjin at the clinic, but he was not there. She goes home and he was there, sleeping soundly on the sofa. His arm has a band-aid, for his tetanus jab.
Sungjin hates getting shots the most. Y/N knows he hates hospitals and injections, and has a big mistrust with the institution, and it makes her chest swell with love for him.
It makes her heart shatter, though. It's so hard to leave and say goodbye to someone you had forsaken your world for, especially when you're starting to think that everything is turning out fine. She was just starting to build her world with him, planning their future and thinking of having kids.
Sungjin looks so peaceful and beautiful, having no care in the world that Y/N just wants to frame this moment. She knows she can't, so she'll just watch over him for as long as she can. Maybe it will last longer than taking a picture, or maybe it can stop the time. If not, then she can at least keep this picture embedded in her mind before she disappears forever.
3:38 pm
Sungjin shifts from his position, rubbing his eyes and yawning on his hands. Y/N wipes her eyes with the back of her hand so he won't see the tears that had been steadily streaming down her face for the past hour. His eyes find her, and smiles that beautiful smile she fell in love with.
It sends her heart skidding on the floor, and to splinter a little more at the thought of leaving him. She bites her lip to keep the tears from falling further, and smiles back at him.
"Hey," she says, barely keeping her voice steady.
"Hey," Sungjin smiles at hear again, but his smile crumples when he takes in her bloodshot eyes and runny nose. He shoots up and engulfs her in a tight hug.
It was the wrong thing to do as Y/N loses it again, tears escaping down her cheeks. He rubs her back soothingly.
"What's wrong?" he asks. "Are you okay?"
"I love you. Please never ever forget that," is all she can say.
"And I love you more." Sungjin pulls away and cups her face into his hands. "Now tell me what's wrong—and don't you try to lie. I know you so well."
She debates telling him because he deserves the truth, but she can't find the right words to say. "I'm fine," she sniffs and shakes her head. "I'm okay."
"You're definitely not okay." He pulls away and holds her arms. He frowns when he notices her body's dropped temperature. "Where have you been? You're awfully cold!"
"I'm fine. School's let out early." Y/N sits up straight and smiles, wiping at her tears. "Did you—have you seen the news?"
Y/N is nervous to ask that, but she has to know. She knows he would be shattered when he knows that he's talking to a ghost. Technically, Sungjin can still touch her, but she's already a ghost.
She also can't forgive herself for breaking their promise of forever.
"Not yet," Sungjin says. "I was so tired and sleepy so I had to go straight home. But we can turn on the TV anyw—"
"No!" Y/N grips his hand, cutting him short of turning on the TV. She looks close to tears again that he raises his eyebrows in surprise.
"No." Y/N composes herself with a fake smile to appease the surprised features on his face. "I'm just asking. I'm sorry for yelling."
"You're acting weird," Sungjin says.
Y/N puts on her best I'm-okay face and smiles at him. "I'm okay. I just had a snooze at work and I had a bad dream."
I wish this was all just a bad dream.
"I just want to make sure you don't forget I love you, you know? Despite everything that happened to us." She looks down and smiles sadly. "I'm sorry I made you worry for nothing."
Sungjin pouts, but pulls her into another hug. "It's fine, babe. I just love you more and more every second because you're the only person who loved me truly, and never left me."
Y/N's heart can't get any more broken.
5:55 pm
For the past few hours, Y/N and Sungjin were just curled up on the loveseat. They were watching a sappy romcom that seemed to mock her in the face as it was about leaving a loved one behind and coming back for them. On the other hand, it's a good reason for her to cry her eyes out without raising suspicion, safe and snug under Sungjin's arms.
Too bad, the peace doesn't last forever.
7:40 pm
Y/N is currently waiting for Sungjin to come back. She originally opposed to the idea because she has a bad feeling about it, but he said that he needs to get some food (since Y/N forgot to bring home some). It has already been an hour since he went out, and the store was only a 15-minute walk—five if you use a car.
What is taking him so long?
8:20 pm - 9:45 pm
Y/N was just about to go looking for Sungjin when the front door opens and shuts with a slam. Next came the heavy footsteps that sounded urgent and almost running.
Y/N stands up and was about to see if it was him (who else would it be?), when he comes running into the living room. He was panting and has a disheveled appearance, eyes puffy with the evident tear-stained tracks in his face.
Shit.
"Sungjin...?" Y/N steps forward, but Sungjin steps backwards. "Babe...?"
"Who are you?" he asks as he tilts his head to the side, an incredulous, almost crazed look in his eyes.
"What?" she asks, knowing fully well what is going on. "It's me, Y/N! What kind of stupid sh—"
"You're NOT Y/N!" Sungjin almost yells. He walks towards her and shakes her by her shoulders. "Who are you? What did you do to her?"
"Babe, it's me!"
"No!" He lets go of her and walks to the other side of the room, his back against her. He turns around, and he has tears in his eyes. "You're not her."
"I am!" she cries out, but he refuses to listen. His mouth is curled in an angry sneer. "I know it sounds absurd, but I came back for you... to say goodbye."
"How can I believe that, huh?" he laughs, but there is no humor in his voice. "Ghosts are not real, whoever you are."
Oh.
"How can you expect me to believe what you were saying?" he asks, but she can't give him an answer. "Answer me!" he screams when she stays silent.
Y/N suddenly feels tired. Heartbroken.
"I love you," she says instead. She looks down at her hands, and see that she is starting to fade as time passes by.
Sungjin laughs a ruthless laugh, not noticing the change in her, and it breaks her heart even more. She can't find it in herself to cry, mainly because she's already cried out as heck, and it's not like it will change anything.
"Just stay away from me," Sungjin says, face taut with anger. "Get the fuck out of my house."
Y/N can only nod. She debates reaching out to touch him, but backs out at the last second. She leaves her coat by the door, and gets out into the cold night.
She's already cold, anyway.
11:15 pm
Y/N begins to think about how her life has been and thinks how far she'd come. She's pretty proud of herself for coming this far.
She would want to say goodbye to her kids and to Dowoon as well, but it's not like that's in the cards right now.
She looks at her wristwatch, the one Sungjin gifted her for her birthday.
11:15 pm.
Right, 45 minutes left.
It's funny how she can't cry anymore, probably because she's past the sixth stage of grief. She thinks she had already accepted that she will be gone by midnight, and crying makes no sense at this point. It's not like it'll bring her back, or bring Sungjin back.
Speaking of which, she looks to her left and there Sungjin is at the other side of the park. She's pretty sure he hasn't seen her yet, so she stands up and keep her head down.
She walks toward a more secluded part of the park, not risking a glance back at him. She doesn't want to fight with him again. She'd rather go quietly without an affair, than have a big blow up with Sungjin. After all, this what she's good at; running away.
"Y/N!"
Ah, shit.
Y/N tries to walk faster without seeming like she was running away from him. If she runs away, he'll know she heard him. Y/N walks on, chanting a nopenopenope in her head.
Nope, indeed.
Nearly there.
"Y/N, please," Sungjin says, sounding out of breath and too near. "Wait."
Just keep yourself together.
"Y/N!" Sungjin grabs her wrist, spinning her around.
Her gaze lands on her wrist, and she sees that she was fading away fast. She pulls her hand back to her fast, careful not to draw attention to it. Too late though, because Sungjin's eyes are drawn to it.
She pulls the sweater's sleeve to cover her wrist and clear her throat. "Yeah." She laughs awkwardly. "Sorry 'bout that."
"It's true, then." Sungjin's face crumple. He looks younger, almost like a kid. "I was hoping it was just delirium from the shots."
She laughs quietly. "You don't get delirious from shots."
Silence.
Y/N takes a deep breath, and smiles like her heart's not on fire. "I'll be going."
"Where?" he asks in a small voice.
She shrugs. "Hell, maybe?"
That turns out to be the wrong thing to say, because Sungjin bursts into tears a few moments later.
No, no, no.
"I'm sorry," she says as she takes a step towards him. She suddenly stops, him asking her to stay away still ringing in her ears.
"I'm sorry," even though she doesn't know if she's saying sorry for the joke or for ruining his life. "Sorry."
"I was hoping—" he says as he hiccups, wiping at his tears. "I was hoping this was all just a practical joke."
Y/N smiles sadly, still keeping her distance. She badly wants to pull him into a hug, but she can't.
"Do you regret it?" she asks him after a minute of silence. He looks at her and it breaks her heart, but she just can't bear not knowing before leaving. "Do you regret choosing me?"
"No," he insists, shaking his head. "Never."
She nods with a small smile. Me, too.
"Thank you," she says. "That's all I need to know."
She turns toward the other side of the park, but he walks in front of her and blocks her way.
"Don't go," he begs almost desperately. He kneels in front of her and hugs her legs, still crying like a kid. "Please just take me with you."
"Sungjin..."
"Please," he cries harder. "Please please please."
Y/N unwraps his arms around her legs, and kneels with him, pulling him into a tight hug.
"Please don't leave me," he cries on her sweater. "You're all I have."
11:55 pm
Five minutes.
They spent the last almost-hour talking and crying. They reminisced about everything, and Y/N apologized, mostly. Everything she failed to say, and failed to make him feel. She spared nothing.
She looks at her wristwatch. 11:55 pm.
Her hands are almost transparent at this point.
"I'm sorry if I wasn't able to keep my promise" she says, taking Sungjin's hand in hers. "I mean it when I said I love you, and I want you to be happy—"
"—I can't be," Sungjin replies. At least he had stopped crying, but it looks like he was about to again.
Three minutes.
"Close your eyes, babe." He does, and she kisses his lips one last time.
"I'm gonna miss you," she says. "I'll wait for you, okay?"
"I won't take long." Sungjin's voice is quivering.
One minute.
"I love you." Her skin starts to glow while she was speaking, her body flowing like ashes in the wind and drifting upwards.
"I love you, too," Sungjin says.
When he opens his eyes, he was alone on the park bench.
He stays there for a long time, wishing she heard him.
She did, and she carried his love with her to the dark skies.

hello lovely user jayflrt how are you???
i’m LOVING the smau so far, the story is so interesting to me i love it, the last chapter was amazing! jay is sooo in love, are u telling me not only you want to slap mc’s ex who treated her horribly but also associate the colour of HAPPINESS with a memory of her ooooh you want her so bad now kiss 🫵 missing jay/n winter break moments bring them back 😭
also, i have some theories 🤓☝️
as of right now i think the anon could be sungjin or sunghoon’s dad, for different reasons, i think sungjin might have a somewhat inferiority complex with sunghoon, idk i feel like sungjin issues with sh run deeper than just the company, he might want to take other things from him(read as: y/n) and use whatever information jay can get to blackmail her into something? maybe? i’m not that smart bare with me pls, as for the dad i think it could be as a plan b if sunghoon doesn’t marry mc, it doesn’t seem he trusts his son a lot 💀
.. then heeseung, he’s sus af, but i don’t really have a solid theory about him, maybe he has some resentment over mc’s list, i think definitely feels less than the rest for his upbringing, at least from y/n and sunghoon but i don’t think that’s enough reason to drop that much money on jay, nor i think his crush in mc is borderline obsessive to blackmail her
yuna might be gone for now but i don’t trust her parents for some reason, yeonjun just seems like a bad friend and karina hasn’t done something to make me suspicious of her yet, gigi is on thin ice tho i need to see more of her friendship with y/n, NOW SUNOO??? he’s weird, he could easily know about yuna buying her way into yale, and also knows jay, he’s there but not really so idk he might work from the shadows? i actually don’t remember if his family has some businesses or something that might benefit from exposing mc out
i’m sorry for the long ask, have a nice day ♥️ 😭
(ps. i was wondering if 🍒 or 🪩 anon was available?)
hello hello ml !! i've been doing pretty good! hbu?? 💞
OMG i'm so so glad you're enjoying the story so far :') it's been so fun to write it as well as post the chapters because i lovee a good mystery 🥹 he wants her SOOOOO bad he just needs to admit it to himself already 🧎‍♀️ I MISS THEIR WINTER BREAK ERA TOO,, but there's always spring break 🤩
omg literally just sat up straight to dissect your theories properly 🙏 NO NO DW these all make perfect sense !! sungjin and his father definitely have more lore to uncover 🤭 as well as sunoo, and heeseung definitely also has an inferiority complex to explore too !! also as for your question about sunoo's family, jay mentioned in the first chapter that sunoo's dad's a plastic surgeon ! definitely all solid theories for how much has happened right now but i wonder how your theories will change as the story progresses 🫣
also omg you don't have to apologize for the response length love 🥰 hope you're having a wonderful day/night yourself !! 🌷 also omg yes both of those emojis are available !! you can choose either (i'm indecisive because both of them are cute 😭)

Note
1, 6, 7 for two of our ships!!
1. What do they think of each other's family? And how does the family feel?
ZOFIA & GRAYSON | We've kind of talked about this one already but Gray adores Zofia's grandma, she's probably one of his favourite people in the world, and, of course, she loves him just as much, and thinks of him as her grandson as well. She was super happy when they got back together, and every time she saw him she'd say just how much she had missed having him around. Zofia, on the other hand, doesn't like his parents very much, mainly because of what they put Grayson through, other than that, they avoid his father as much as they can so there's not much of a relationship there. I think he's quite indifferent towards her, he probably thinks he could do better, but then again, he probably doesn't think much of his son either. Dahlia and Zofia get along amazingly well, I think they have a kind of sisterly relationship. She and Carter are kind of indifferent towards each other.
HARPER & CLEM | Unfortunately, Clem doesn't remember much of Harper's family from when they moved out of town, but Clem's family loves Harper almost as much as she loves her herself. Sungjin is always inviting her over for dinner and family activities, they also used to run into each other a lot at the farmer's market so they decided to start going there together. Nathalie often asks how she's doing and likes making a stop to catch up with her, I think they both admire the other and she's very supportive of Harper's career goals. Lisa hangs around her shop a lot because her girlfriend works there but she really likes spending time with Harper, she goes to her for advice from time to time and definitely sees her as an older sister too.
6. Do they have pet names for each other? Do they like them?
ZOFIA & GRAYSON | Once Grayson told Zofia he liked the way she said his name and after that she only calls him 'Gray', and 'Grayson' if she wants him to be serious about something. I think he's not big on pet names either, but I see him calling her 'baby' a lot.
HARPER & CLEM | They definitely have the corniest, cheesiest, most disgusting pet names for each other, it started as something funny between the two of them, to see who could think of the worst pet name, but now calling each other things like 'Muffin' or 'Pumpkin' or 'Baby cakes' is something natural for them.
7. What's their most and least favourite thing about each other?
ZOFIA & GRAYSON | Zofia likes that he doesn't care about what other people might think about him, while dislikes the fact that he probably doesn't think very highly of himself. Gray likes how genuinely kind she is, helping everyone and never expecting anything in return, but he doesn't like how insecure she is. They both help each other feel better with themselves.
HARPER & CLEM | Harper loves how confident, carefree and honest Clem can be, she finds her to be very inspiring and a breath of fresh air, and Clem loves how gentle and caring Harper is. I honestly think they love everything about each other.
send some numbers and the names of the couple! (+ you can find my oc directory here)

“We’re back to our seats” DAY6, the first complete group concert in 4 years
by News Reporter Lee Min-ji All photos provided by JYP Entertainment
DAY6 successfully completed their first full-length solo concert in about 4 years. DAY6 held ‘DAY6 Christmas Special Concert ‘The Present: You are My Day’ for three days from December 22nd to 24th at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. This performance is the first Christmas special concert in 4 years since 'Christmas Special Concert 'The Present'' in December 2019, and the first full-length concert since 'DAY6 WORLD TOUR 'GRAVITY'' in January 2020. Tickets for all sessions sold out quickly after general reservations opened, and additional seats were also sold out, attracting a total of 20,000 audiences over three days. On the 24th, the last day of the performance, an online paid live broadcast was simultaneously conducted through the Beyond LIVE platform. As it was the time to officially announce the end of their hiatus period after all of their members Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon were discharged from the military, DAY6 released more than 23 songs for My Day (fandom name), who had been waiting for a long time. They put their sincerity into each stage. The title track of their first full-length album, "SUNRISE," their title track, "I Smile," and their seventh mini album, "The Book of Us: Negentropy - Chaos Swallowed Up in Love," the title track of "You Make Me" and the track "Invincible (ONE)" opened in the dark, signaling a thrilling and touching return.
Sungjin said, "I've been waiting for a long time to perform on this stage. I named the performance to give the impression that it's a gift to you. I have a lot of emotions coming up from the beginning. I'll pour out everything today," adding to his excitement. They presented a variety of musical gifts, including "Zombie", "Love Me or Leave Me", as well as major group songs such as "days gone by," "You Were Beautiful," "Congratulations," and "I Like You." During the encore stage, they selected songs that added heat to their hearts, including "Best Part," "Time of Our Life," "DANCE DANCE," and "Freely." All of the members went around the audience to make eye contact with fans and keep each other warm during the winter. In order to give precious memories to the audience, DAY6 put all their efforts into every element of the performance. In keeping with the saying "Trust and listen in DAY6," the members showed off their solid vocals and musical instruments that did not feel any gaps in the hiatus period. They sang the parts that fans wanted to hear again, building up their emotions, and Dowoon also performed a surprise bit at the ending part of "Zombie." The members filled the concert hall with happy laughter, exuding wit and chemistry with a small choreography prepared by each other, as well as a specially prepared Manitou Mission and entertainment charging game video before the encore stage. For the first time in about four years, Day6 and My Day completed a concert together. In response to Wonpil's words, "A DAY6 concert is a stage until the end of the auditorium, so we need your voice," the audience harmonized with DAY6 by singing in unison, cheering, and shouting to the members' accompaniment. Young K extended his hand towards the fans and became a microphone stand, and Dowoon showed his happy heart by giving a thumbs up and saying, "It's My Day to trust and listen to." In particular, the members' stage naturally began following My Day's unison singing of 'Only' and 'You Were Beautiful', adding a lingering feeling to the 'Gift Con' with their fantastic partners 'My Day Six'. DAY6 shed tears of joy in front of their precious My Day after a long wait. Sungjin said, "I missed this moment so much. I had a lot of worries about whether I would be able to do well in this performance, but the moment I saw My Day, it all disappeared and everything became possible. That's how much I missed you, and now that we are together, every moment we will be happy. You've waited for four years, and let's have fun together,” he said, talking about a bright future. Young K said, "I wanted to show you the best of me, 'DAY6 is back.' I'm glad that you had fun. What's more fortunate is that we have a lot to show you. I'm excited that we'll have so much to do on stage as well as music. Thank you for being with us so far, and let's be happy from now on." Wonpil said, "I feel the happiest and most overwhelmed when I do DAY6 concert. I think the best thing I can do for you who have waited is to approach with good music and performances. I will continue to show great performances. Our youth starts again from now on and DAY6 will continue in the future," he said. "I always think, 'I have to become a better person' while watching My Day. I'll do my best, so please keep an eye on me. I'll make good three happy days and work hard for the next happy time. Our lives are so happy to meet you, and that happiness is ongoing." The scene was filled with smiles until the last moment when the happy reunion performance came to an end, and the concluding words, “Thank you for being with us,” remained in My Day’s hearts as a signal of a new starting point, a new page of youth that DAY6 will write in the future. It made me look forward to it.

Do you ever reckon bang chan will ever just go full sungjin buzzcut? He doesn’t have to enlist so won’t have to shave it for that so I fear his scalp may never rest and recover and we will never see those glorious natural curls again.
i wish he would, if only to help that poor scalp recover 😔
can't even express how much i miss the long fluffy healthy curls...yall remember Side Effects era blonde curls??? or the I Am You curls... fuck. how young we were, how naive...
