I have a request, I don't know what the name of this asthetic is but it was very popular back in the 2000s and 2010s. It's the stereotypical boy, age range from kids to teens. Stuff like disney XD, ninjagos, skating, dinosaurs, epic voices, rough housing, nerfs, cars, blues and reds. No pacifier btw, hope this helps.

not that they're weird in nature, but they're weirdly specific gifts. he once gave you a golf ball that he scored his first hole in one with as a "lucky charm". or the one time you told him that you were craving a hotdog, so he bought you a hotdog flavoured drink. play doh, except it's more for him to play with rather than for you. scratch that, they're all weird.

so obviously, you're surprised when he pulls out what he's been hiding behind his back for the past ten minutes, only to be a small bouquet held together with a messily cut ribbon.

your eyes look down, and then back up at his face, that stupidly handsome grin that you love written all over his face. "what is this?" you question him suspiciously

ino's just too excited to show you what he's been building since yesterday night, having pulled an all nighter just to finish them off before your date. "flowers!"

"ino... what is this?"

ooh, he does not like it when you don't call him anything but his last name. it's noticeable that his confidence had decreased, and he sheepishly rubs over his beanie with his hand. "...lego...flowers..." he manages to squeeze out the words.

the wind is suddenly knocked out of him when you give him a big hug, your arms securely wrapped around his waist. "sorry. i got so used to what you usually give me that i doubted you were actually going to give me the flowers."

that's partly his fault, but he doesn't even mind. he made you happy, and you accepted his flowers with more eagerness than he was expecting.

Feldspar would have a dinky, half broken board that they refuse to change. They're the ones doing all kinds of tricks and trying out new stuff

Mica would both roller skate and skateboard, but also have heelies too. The elders make them wear this stupid oversized helmet and protection in case they fall. Mica doesn't neeeeed them per say, but wear them anyways

Gabbro having a cruiser is the most gabbro thing and you cannot tell me otherwise. Just chilling, cruising

Slate doesn't really skateboard, they only know a few basic tricks and that's it. The idea for skateboards was theirs to begin with, a forgotten thing during their hatchling years that got picked up by feldspar later. They go along with felds and encourage them and also give them idea for new tricks. Anything slate knows on the board was taught to the by feldspar

I finished the first temeraire book yesterday (on the plane lol. Happy new school year here’s your new interest you don’t have time to engage with now) and now I am deeply stuck on the parallels between the relationship between Laurence and Temeraire (that series), the relationship between Mensah and Murderbot (murderbot diaries), and the relationship between Monty and Mother (city spies).

When I get my books back from storage/the media mail box coming in two weeks I want to come back and back this idea up with quotes but for now I’m just going to say they have very similar vibes and I really like the way all of the relationships are treated as a deeply important, if not the most important, relationship in the characters’ lives while remaining non-romantic

i am improving. with every attempt i get a little bit better. after a million attempts i will be able to reach low earth orbit. after a trillion i will make it to the sun.

New issue to troubleshoot, my timing is icky. I have to think of it more like jumping Then popping, rather than the way I had been treating it stationary as kind of the same motion. If I try to pop too early all I accomplish is sort of shoving my foot into the ground and making a mess of my tail (which you can kind of see me doing here). Also started learning to FS revert. not shown :3

Do I look uncomfortable ? That's great because I was !!! Not really Jumping that high because it's Scary and i didn't bring safety gear oops. but as I do more of them I push myself a little harder and I feel like I'm making real actual tangible progress.
