I was watching a video about Roger Rabbit today and it reminded me of your Roger Rabbit AU and... in light of the "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way" line implying that toons aren't naturally born but made.... Takaaki as just the most haggard looking deadline-crunching animator of all time with his silly little bunnyboy.

YES. i had a similar idea about this after wondering how takaaki could possibly fit into the au. old man and his oc. just begging to be screwed over by the studio he works for and end up with no ownership over the character.

if i ever do make develop this au into a full-fledged story, i might just find a way to include takaaki. even if the original creator of roger was never a thing in the original movie, maybe the investigation could lead them to the original creator of taka to get some more information. what information?? hell if i know. i just know we’d get takaaki in on this.

also i was thinking. who’s mondo’s original creator?? it might just be takaaki wanting to give his creation a love interest. we could go the “parent” creating “child” route and have whoever the hell mondo’s dad is create him. or daiya. i feel like, in the case of daiya, it’s one of those situations where a closeted animator just wanted to create the most overtly queer character they could. and the character somehow got onto the screen. i mean, that idea doesn’t have to be exclusive to daiya, but still. fun to think about.

Hello I'm here to ask stuff yet again!! About your Takemichi hcs, you mentioned that you think he would be a Hanatarash fan and I wanted to ask if you only think he likes Hanatarash or if he likes the Japanoise musical genre entirely 🤔

oh i think he's a huge fan of japanoise/noise punk in general, i just jump to hanatarash first because i think he'd be into the crazy stunts (and also because i have a friend that's really into them, lol).

in general my opinions on takemichi's music taste (and i have many of them!) are as follows:

doesn't devote a lot of his time to anything music-centric (just not something he's particularly passionate about and there's only so much time in a day) but he's familiar with his local punk scene. more for the purposes of going to a place and listening to loud music and crashing into sweaty guys than anything else.

doesn't generally listen to anything in english but i think if he did he'd be into street sects and botch (particularly these songs, though the whole albums they come from makes me think of him) (in prison, at least i had you is my michi+mondo manifesto. please listen to it or at least look up the lyrics).

the exception to the no english thing is anything that daiya used to play and just about anything mondo used to play. i always imagine daiya being really into judas priest (and really i have no justification for this except that i think the band itself is kind of reflective of daiya's whole deal to me? particularly with the band generally being regarded as like, kind of hypermasculine and pioneers of the [also very masculine] genre [and they very much are! don't get me wrong] and rob halford being gay. daiya is a rob halford gay. does that make any sense at all? idk.) and even though takemichi would give him shit about it when he was alive he would never skip any of the songs. and he still doesn't. if he heard it on the radio he wouldn't even turn the volume down, he'd just. sit there.

he just generally doesn't listen to his own music a lot because that would require buying them physically (or swiping CDs which he has absolutely done) and having a place to play them at. and the only CD player he has easy access to is at the owada's place. and they cannot stand his music!!! it sounds like he's breaking shit!!! there are no fucking instruments in this takemichi yukimaru are you fucking serious. and then daiya would sling him over his shoulder and switch out the disk or something.

sorry got sidetracked their friendship means everything to me.

there's also definitely a reality where leon gets mondo kind of into britpunk and mondo tries to get takemichi into it, but i seriously doubt he'd bite. noise/sludge or bust.
