welp, didn't manage to get everything out before season 10 started, but i gotta post it one way or another so here we go! heard there was a fandom swap game going on, wanted to do a couple promts of my own :D

Here's a big post of some of my doodles of [Cap'n and crew] that I haven't posted yet! Couple are comics, couple are shitposts, you know how it goes.

(Also have some extra character tidbits beneath the cut!)

Cap'n (she/they) has become a Spongebob-adjacent "married to the job" type with sprinklings of "they are not immune to rose-tinted Company propaganda". Cartoonishly loyal to work, she's more upset about lying to the boss about her condition over actually becoming a monster on work time (though she isn't particularly a fan of being a monster, either).

Skeets (she/her) was already implied to be pretty optimistic and curious, but I've doubled down on this. She's constantly curious about entities and the state of her co-workers, asking questions and absorbing new information. She's also extremely lucky when it comes to encountering entities.

Mav (she/him), as implied by her nearly leaving Cap'n behind in the first comic, has become a "I won't hesitate, bitch" bitch. Split second decisions aren't an issue for her, she WILL shoot first and ask questions later. (She also now has a gambling addiction, haha. LOVES betting credits on things)

Kid (he/him) is now Irish. I will not elaborate. He's kind of literally the same otherwise. He's also in major inherited debt because of a Company-caused clerical error, but don't worry about it.

Really disliking the excuse of "The company would of course make all of their secunits white" to excuse Skarsgard being cast in the role of Murderbot. The character of Murderbot is canonically poc. There is official art, as well as statements from the Actual Author that prove this. In my personal opinion, the casting is not 'thematically accurate'. (????) It's just whitewashing. That is cut and dry. That is what's happening, and it's not ok. A white actor willingly taking a role meant for a person of color, and the creators of the show casting a white person in the role of a person of color is Not Ok. Casting a straight, white, cis man in this role continues to push the narrative that autism is something for white males. Murderbot in the books is anxious, autistic coded, queer in multiple ways, and goes through large amounts of opression and persecution. Casting a white person in this role does real harm by continuing to perpetuate stereotypes about the communities it's supposed to represent. It also implies that the default "generic human" is a white man. I will admit that from what I've seen from Skarsgard's interviews, he seems to understand the character quite well, but whitewashing, straight-washing, and cis-washing are serious topics. And this book series is near and dear to my heart as an autistic queer person. It's important to be aware of the harm this casting decision is doing, and just because he is a good actor does not mean it's ok that he took the role. (To be extremely clear, my opinion has nothing to do with how 'masc' or 'fem' Murderbot's actor looks. It's about identity and proper representation. Anyone can be agender or nonbinary, no matter what their assigned GAB was.) I've seen the take that having a POC play a character that uses it/its pronouns would be 'problematic', however there are Real People in the Real World that use it/its pronouns, and they come in every shape, size, and color you can imagine. And they deserve representation just like anyone else. That's my two cents. I am excited for the show to come out, and I really like the casting decisions made for the Presaux crew. The fact that they messed up with the casting of the main character (and the main character only??) is pretty much the only thing that's got me nervous about the show. Just putting my opinion out there as a fan of the series.

You make fandom a space that sparks joy but at the expense of making other fans feel excluded and alienated by perpetuating fanon takes that everyone next to the Batfam is stupid. You're dumbing down characters that are exceedingly brilliant to make bats look more important. You're not sparking joy.

How did you somehow read my post while also not reading it at all. I'm not sure if I even want to engage in whatever this is and if I do in what way. On one hand I'm concerned for your wellbeing, that's a lot of hate I think has been misdirected onto fandom and therefore any attempt to make peace is futile. On the other hand, I like being a petty little shit and enjoy arguing even if futile, also I haven't taken my meds in a few days but that's a whole other thing and I'm now rambling again so ill wrap it up.

I'm going to assume you are all of the anon hate in my inbox rn and at this point in time only respond to this, sorry you put so much effort into being an asshole just for me to ignore it but thats the great thing about free will, if i don't like something I can simply ignore it, I suggest you practice that

I kinda just thought this was funny, from pretty early on in rigging, getting the ears to only move the ears lol

pretty self-explanatory, didn't think y'all'd wanna go through a bunch of separate images

they're sorted roughly by age (I guess?): the ones in the bottom right are newer than the top left

they were going to have a spiked tongue, but at some point I realized that was a weirdly high amount of detail compared to the rest of it, so it's just kinda bumpy now

Oh boy do I love it when I see two characters with vastly different personalities and wow their backstory and motivations and developments are in some proximity tied to each other? Wow how I do love that! What’s that? They have a rival-esque dynamic? Which stems from one characters insecurities? How interesting! I can’t wait to see how the pair’s relationship progresses throughout the span of the entire show! Hopefully they will be granted with a blossoming relationship from rivals to friends to an unbreakable bond that not even the insurmountable obstacle that is time and distance can wither! Hopefully the show displays poignant moments between the two that can act as lessons the audience can learn from such as battling your insecurities and being able to rely and trust people etc.!!!!

I do love both of these characters dearly. 😈 HAHAHAHAHA SHIPPING TIME!!!

Ok, let me just binge the whole thing—

Crack fic idea: POV of a police officer chasing a robbery suspect who ends up running into DMC to escape/grab a hostage. When the officer opens the door, he finds the suspect standing frozen in the middle of the room, because on the opposite end by the desk, an angry Vergil's standing there stabbing a surprised Dante. This stabbing pretty obviously happened before the robber showed up. It's only through the hand, but the one guy is holding a whole giant samurai sword, the guy getting stabbed has a gun in his free hand, and there's kind of a lot of blood.

The other officer comes in after POV guy. Officer 2 looks over the scene, then starts to arrest the suspect who's still so shocked he doesn't really fight the handcuffs. Once the suspect is cuffed, Officer 2 starts to walk him through the door and tells POV Officer it's time to go. POV Officer is confused, because uh, sir, there's some pretty severe domestic violence going on and he doesn't know if that gun's registered, and even if they ignore all the normal police/violence/safety issues shouldn't they call some EMTs??? Or at least ask the guy getting stabbed if he's okay???? (To which Dante calls out "oh yeah I'm good!" confusing poor POV officer further)

Officer 2 just frowns and shakes his head. "No, they've got this. Right Dante?" To which Dante cheerfully replies with some small talk that makes it obvious he and Officer 2 are acquainted. Vergil gets tired of the small talk and rips the Yamato out of Dante's hand, walking upstairs. And when POV Officer starts to ask something else, Dante basically just waves him off with some sort of comment about how Vergil's just grumpy, honestly Dante kind of deserved that one, he'll admit he was being a bit pushy. And then waves goodbye when Officer 2 says they really need to get back go the station and book the suspect.

As they leave, POV Officer asks what's going on. Officer 2 basically just tells him not to worry, and not to write it in the report. That's just Dante. Dante tries to keep clear of the police, the police try to keep clear of Dante, and everyone's happy. He's helped out on a handful of cases when he just so happened to be in the area, he's gotten accused of some property damage a few times, it all evens out. You just don't mention Dante. City Police actually have a code for it, if they ever absolutely have to. But today they don't, so they won't. They caught the suspect. That's that. The suspect ran into one of the many abandoned buildings in the area and they caught him. Nothing else of note.

Oh, and if POV Officer is worried about the hand, he shouldn't be. The police here have known demons were real for years before Redgrave, and they're pretty sure Dante's one of the nice ones. When he says he'll be fine, hell be fine. Officer 2 has some good stories about him getting shot in the chest and getting tight bacm up, actually...

...

And so a crazy day comes to an end. The suspect's been caught, the streets are safe, and that's that. Nothing else happened. Nothing at all.

If POV Officer starts sprinting in the opposite direction when he sees a certain tall, white haired, blue eyed, blue wearing man when he's walking down the street later that week, it's for no reason at all.
