Abecias Malice Ref (God OC Ref Sheet Remake)
(Edit: Had to pic the drawings a bit bcs I FORGOR I HAD THE FACIAL HAIR AT 30% OF OPACITY LIKE THE MORON I AM!)
Tumblr media
AND HES DONE!
After a few days this gae bacon-haired moron is finished & tbh I like this new ver of him more than his original design. (If you wanna see his original design the link is here- (Plz remember the post is pretty old on here as well as the pic bcs originally this fella was actually a Early b-Day gift for my frend back when this year just frikin started.)
& yes that is some wine coming out of his mouth. (He loves his wine) & of course.... Bro is flipping u off. (But it's censored, also I originally was gonna draw a bird crossed out but then I forgor SO LETS PRETEND ME FORGETTING WAS INTENTIONAL & NOT SOME GOOF I COMMITED!) Look we a bit of somewhat vulgarity even if I'm not the person who would just curse. (But I do say byastord, which this guy is, so its fitting.)
Also Lil rewrite of his bio bcs frik u:
|| Name: Abecias Malice (aka Adder'Synn Malkovich) | Gender: Male (Trans), He/Him | Age: ?? (Died at the age of 22-23) | Sexuality: Gae | Height: ??'?? ft (Possibly was 6'2 ft tall when alive) | Enithcity: ?? (Possibly was a Rozokeen/Osmort mix when still alive) | Personality: A very unhinged & crazed individual who seem to have a unhealthy obsession with men & himself?? Seems to really like seeing oeppel die yet despises getting himself dirty to the point that he will literally start avoiding anything that has a SINGLE speck of dirt! What im saying is, hes narcissistic, sadistic, & also very lazy & wants others to do stuff for him. (Also is very racist to bird ppl idk, why though) I Occupation: The King of his kingdom of Vallenfholt (This is Godhome's hew name) | Family: ?? (When alive he had a older brother, a younger sister, & 2 parent but one of them was ded) | Species: Bloopmo (Halflett type) (Formally), Ascended God | Other: Can't seem to get drunk from the wine he always drinks EVERY SINGLE FRIKIN DAY! Is literally a rich pompous a-hole who despises the porr, homeless, & ugly ppl. Also thinks the mailmen are coming for him /hj ||
(A lot of the info here is not filled on purpose bcs gods... dont really care about mortal nonsense.)
Extras: Was originally a college student (or whatever he was when he was still alive) pretty much dealing with a pretty ab*sive father who would not respect his identity & was basically a complete snake. Although one Adder just.. snapped & ran off the campus to drive to his father's house &... kill him... But that was not the end of it, by the next day he had murdered around 12 people & injuring 2 (that being his now ex- bf & his now rival) only to be killed by his once best friend, Hugo.. When he died his soul was sent into the ring of Wrath but over the years, the regret he had turned into pride... He enjoyed what he had become... Not only that but his personality had started to shift, become extremely lustful & abnormally greedy to also having his appearance be shifted also, this was normal for a Sinner, but this Sinner was different... He risen up the rank & eventually became a God, not a well known god but a God nonetheless. Eventually going up into Vallenfholt & making a kingdom there which suited his needs. He however became so obsessed with himself that he pretty much just lost it & became the thing he originally despised the most... A rich, greedy, & selfish monster like his father was. Not only that anyone was below him was eventually killed instantly in the arena that he built for prisoners (Usually bcs he didn't like bcs of their appearance) to fight to the death in. Now as for how the hell he became obsessed with men & started to h8 on bird ppl (+ the whole thing about the mailmen coming for him... idk bro-). Now keep in might he was BoRN in a time humans (the morons from earth) did NOT come to Eeross.
Also if you wanna see the uncensored puc of the guy flipping u goofs off then here- (plz click read more but if u are offended by ppl flipping u off plz don't.)
Tumblr media
Yeh no body pic bcs this is a friend's oc (that I made for em) but it would be VERY WEIRD OF ME TO POST THAT! (Even if we are AroAce & its a *full body ref* but plz don't ask me to post it in respect of MY FRIEND!)
ANYWAYS CREDITS BCS I H8 MYSELF! (Not really but I sorta do.... I need help-)
Character: Created by ne but belongs to a frend of mine who I'm gonna keep anonymous but they are on here (I ain't gonna say who BCS THEY ARE MEANT TO BE ANONYMOUS!)
Art: MinE

G: No recuerdo quién me hizo estas preguntas, ya que las perdí... Pero bueno, las responderé antes de que se me olvide cómo iban... Lol... Xd/I don't remember who asked me these questions, since I lost them... But hey, I'll answer them before I forget how they were going... Lol... Xd

A: ¿Qué pasó con Suyerr después de los hechos con Glorma?/What happened to Suyerr after the events with Glorma?
*
G: Pues que le paso, fue a la carcel... Realmente no ha salido de ahi, ademas la familia de Suyerr no lo visita y no le quedan fans, tampoco tiene amigos... Entonces, probablemente esté muerto... Quién sabe... Tal vez no.../Well, what happened to him, he went to jail... He hasn't really come out of there, plus Suyerr's family doesn't visit him and he doesn't have any fans left, he doesn't have any friends either... So, he's probably dead... Who knows... Maybe not...

A: Alba se ve sola en su dibujo, por cierto. ¿Cuándo la volverá a dibujar?/Alba looks lonely in her drawing, by the way. When will she draw her again?
*
Alba pisotea, en realidad por eso está sola.../Alba is alone because she wants to, well... Her rude attitude makes her family move away from her, one would say... Okay, your family doesn't even want to see your face, your friends who are like your brothers might want to see your damn face... But Alba has no friends, besides that she declares herself extremely "incredible" and "unattainable", according to her no one can be her friend because no one is at her level, the same if someone falls in love with her... Alba tramples, that's really why she's alone...
No le pidas amistad a Alba, te humillará de la peor manera... {M: Lo mismo pasaría con Suyerr, si no estuviera en la cárcel, vivo o muerto...}/Don't ask Alba for a friendship, she'll humiliate you in the worst way... {M: The same would happen with Suyerr, if he wasn't in jail, dead or alive...}
Tampoco le declares tu amor, probablemente te humillará frente a una gran audiencia... {M: Si comparo a Alba y Suyerr, Suyerr humilló a la persona peor o cientos de ellos, tal vez estos dos deberían casarse...}/Don't declare your love to him either, he'll probably humiliate you in front of a huge audience... {M: If I compare Alba and Suyerr, Surrey humiliated person worse or hundreds of them, maybe these two should get married...}
Y sobre dibujar a Alba, probablemente no la dibujaré... Al igual que Suyerr, dios... Tal vez lo haga, pero no sé cuándo, realmente no tengo ganas de dibujarlos.../And about drawing Alba, I probably won't draw her... Just like Suyerr, god... Maybe I will, but I don't know when, I really don't feel like drawing them...
La Princesa Alba y el Ex-Famoso Suyerr difícilmente aparecerán aquí, tal vez nunca o tal vez siempre... No sé.../Princess Alba and the Ex-Famous Suyerr will hardly appear here, maybe never or maybe always... I don't know...

Tumblr media
RELEASE DATE. FEB 14, 2022
Tumblr media
“Do you have a ride home?” Jaehyun asks when you step out of the shop.
It’s raining. When Jaehyun realizes the fact, he quickly grabs your hand before you could utter an answer. He leads you to his car and you willingly take a seat inside. You didn’t want to take the bus home in the rain, you didn’t have an umbrella with you, which meant that you’d get soaked on the run from the bus stop to your apartment building. Jaehyun hops into the driver’s seat and starts to drive the familiar way back home to your place.
“I forgot to mention this earlier but,” Jaehyun breaks the silence, “I was wondering if Sicheng and Jia wanted to have a band play at their wedding ceremony.”
You gasp. “That’s a good idea. You might want to bring that up to them.”
“I’m surprised Sicheng didn’t ask me to sing at his wedding,” he mumbles softly.
You snort. “Now that you mention it, I’m surprised as well. Do you still sing?”
“Of course! At the karaoke!” He exclaims, a lighthearted chuckle escaping his lips. “Just like how we used to—”
You giggle. “Just like how we used to—”
The both of you fall silent. Just like how we used to. Looking out the window to avoid his gaze, you clear your throat. Jaehyun is also avoiding your gaze, focusing on a pedestrian that’s crossing the street. The both of you used to do a lot of things together. But now you’re strangers.
When you’re back to driving on the road, you can hear Jaehyun take a risk to ask, “do you miss it sometimes?”
You turn towards him. “Miss what?”
“Us.”
It’s a hard pill to swallow. You have the urge to scream out your answer because it was simple. Yes, you do miss it. You miss him. You miss what you both had. But the heartbreak you experienced overpowers the feeling of missing what you both had together. You spent two years being led on, falling deeply in love with Jaehyun who was living oceans away from you. You spent two years being hopelessly in love with Jaehyun, who promised to be with you when he comes back, but ended up breaking his promise the moment he came back with someone else… with a lover that wasn’t you. But that wasn’t all. You spent another two years after seeing him again at your graduation to try and move on, only for him to come back again and again.
Four years. Four years of heartbreak.
You’re relieved that you arrive at your apartment building before you decide to give him an answer. He didn’t deserve an answer. He parks his car. You bite your bottom lip, opening the door. “Thanks for the ride, Jaehyun. I guess I’ll see you next week—”
“Do you miss us?”
You stop, drawing in a deep breath. You hold in a sigh. “What kind of answer do you want, Jaehyun? Yes, I miss us. I miss what we used to have. I wish to go back to that special time in my life. Do you want that answer? Or do you want ‘No, I don’t miss us. I don’t miss what we used to have. I wish to forget it all. I want to forget you.’?”
Y/N, I—”
“Because I—I don’t know—I’m not sure what my answer is.” You whisper. A tear escapes your eye and you quickly wipe it away with the back of your hand. Stepping out of the car, you flash him a weak smile. “Again, thank you for the ride. Get home safely.”
You rush inside of your apartment, tossing your keys onto the counter and making a beeline for your bedroom. Throwing your stuff to the floor, you hit the bed and stare up at the ceiling. The tears begin to slip out of your eyes, the same tears you used to cry when you were heartbroken. You still are.
Do you miss us?
It makes you scoff.
There was never a ‘girlfriend’ or ‘boyfriend’. There was never a relationship.
There was never an ‘us’ when you and Jaehyun were in love with each other.
Tumblr media
author's note. hopefully you're all doing well! and as always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

Character Bingo: Nick Nack (HP:MS)
Tumblr media
@dolly-royal @omggypsyesmeraldathings-blog (I know you asked for Riley too but I'm making it a separate post since its the same character :3 )
Alrighty lets begin (It's gonna be very long because I've got a lot of things to say about him)
Tumblr media
They are so cool looking
I gotta admit, he looks very cool. Even tho some prople say he looks like James Charles (Which I STRONGLY disagree) I love his design. I personally like his clothes, the man has drip. Heck, I literally painted a white blazer for a cosplay but now I just wear it when I'm not in cosplay anymore. I also like his facial structure since it gave me a challenge to draw him before but now I've gone used too it. (I can go on and on)
Tumblr media
Everyone but me is wrong about them
Ok, so this is just a little joke (I do believe in other people's headcanons about him) but I would make this joke of "As a Nick Nack Kinnie, he would defiantly do that" if there's something that I think he would do.
Wasted Potential
Ik hes in the prequel but he could have more potential in the first game too (Since his model was already made). I think that Nick could've been in the tea party with Mortimer and Riley at the end instead of Kathy. (IDK but stillll)
If they were real I would be afraid of them
Ok, maybe a little startled but still- I mean, he's a puppet that wants a human as his host. But I headcanon that when you say that he's your favorite, he'll stop, cry and just be nicer to you. (Since he doesn't want to harm a fan)
They are deeper then they seem
for some reason I feel like there's something more about Nick that we don't know. The fact that he might have the urge not hunt for Owen and his urge to do it is strange but maybe there's more context in the game when its realesed.
They got done DIRTY by fans
So one time I tried to look how far the fandom has got. So every fandom has R34 art so I decided to type it in on google and OH I REGRET MY DECISION. I found a Nick Nack one- (IDK if that counts tho but still)
Didn't get enough screen time
This applies for the first game. like- we only see him in the shadows and that's it.
I want to carry them in a handbag like a tiny dog
Well kinda, I don't own any handbags but I wanna put him in a back pack instead with him poking out of it. If i had a Nick Nack puppet i would put him in there, let him poke out of it and go out with him like that for aesthetic purposes (And probably comfort reasons as well).
Nothing I like about them is technically canon
Another joke one. I do like things that are canon but I like to come up with headcanons to make me like him more than usual.
Why do they look like that
I don't mean his Midnight show ver. I meant his model that was supposed to be in the first game. What happened to his eyes? Where his is little beard thingy? (I headcanon that the eyes are supposed to be a mechanism that was added in later. like Puppet contact lenses I guess. it was later added because it wasn't in the blue prints so it was just a last minute idea Owen came up with)
Tumblr media
Im mentally ill about them
Help, my mind is all about him now- send help (JK)
Wow... they are LITERALLY me!
Yep, that's me (As my username says it) I relate to him a lot. from my interests to maybe personality. heck I made a list of it and there's a lot of things I kin him that its scary. Ex. liking arts, having mood swings, being a tea person, likes to sing (the difference is that I think my voice sounds horrible) and more things-
They've never done anything wrong in their life <33
Ok, Ok maybe he has done some thing wrong in his life but at least he has the urge to not kill us-
So that's all for now. I could make a headcanon post about him on here (Pls reblog or comment down if you want something like this cause I have a lot of headcanons for Nick and plus I love making this kinds of posts)

So like I really like Steve and all and he's definitely got the right heart and that's what fandom likes about him, how he stood up to bullies and injustice with his fist raised. But recently I've rewatched avatar and Aang got me thinking, is going against the world fist ready really the right thing. Like Aang was no coward he still stopped Ozai but in most of his battles he tries for peace first. In fact Avatar as a whole talks about change in people.
Like Sokka turned from misogynistic to respecting women, and Iroh's love and patience redeemed Zuko. As much as I love Steve Rogers, fist fighting bullies and getting your ass handed to you or successfully beating them to a pulp isn't going to change them, and it sends a wrong message of fighting fire with fire and bullies don't learn when you punch them usually they get pettier. I agree Steve is right at not letting injustice go be it canon or fandom but Iove that scene in avatar when Aang got into a fire nation school and when a guy tried to fight him he was just like nooope but still managed to be on top as opposed to Steve (maybe just fan fic ver) who would try a punch. I mean I can see Steve screaming at the lies of the fire nation school instead of calmly informing the truth and throwing a dance party. Like Aang might be too pacific sometimes but is charging against people really a good lesson. Stand for what's right, but like in a chill way. And I'm not sure if this is just the fandom version of Steve but in TFS we did kinda see him in an alley fight against a just a ride guy. Sorry about the long rant but what do you think about Steve's fight me attitude being completely glorified in his fandom.
I apologize that I’m gonna gonna get a little long-winded here!
I agree with you that peaceful solutions are great to try first, but when it comes to this punch-happy version of Steve you reference, I think you’re kinda looking at a strawman version of the character, anon --  maybe from poorly-written fic or memes, but not exactly the Steve of film or comics.
Now, the respective approaches of both Aang and Steve are in part a product of the media they originated in. A show aimed at kids with a single overall plotline and arc is often going to aim for a peaceful solution and allow for linear character growth -- while comics, movies and shows developed around a character specifically designed to punch Hitler as a statement during WWII are less likely to have a core message of pacifism, and their structure and circular timelines make growth arcs more difficult to sustain. This doesn’t mean one character’s approach or the other is superior, just that they come from different contexts, narratively and in terms of medium. Plus, there are different kinds of fights, and not all are going to offer us the same options as solutions. Looking for ideological purity -- only ever opting for the ‘right’ solution -- can often lead to doing nothing when no ‘right’ solution presents itself, which can result in more harm than taking a less-than-perfect action.
Let us not forget that when an authoritarian army showed up to kill everyone and wipe out the North Pole, Aang does go all Koizilla with the ocean spirit and wipes out the Fire Nation fleet. Aang has fought people. Aang, albeit with the alibi of “a spirit was in charge”, indirectly kills people (Zhao ends up pretty dead as a direct result of Aang’s spirit rampage). This isn’t particularly glorified, but at the time there isn’t a better outcome presented. Doing nothing would have led to the massacre of the Northern Water Tribe.
That said, I LOVE ATLA and its messages of growth and compassion and I think it’s great to have a protagonist who opts to give people a way out.
...Which is what Steve does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We see Steve do this more than once. In CA:TWS, Steve recognizes Bucky and tried to get through to him, to avoid a fight. One ensues, but Steve then refuses to fight him anymore once he’s disabled the helicarrier and saved everyone else, willingly putting his own life on the line to gamble on some part of Bucky’s inner self being in there and worth saving. He isn’t willing to put the lives of other innocents and noncombatants on the line -- protecting them is a priority, even if it means fighting Bucky -- but once that factor is out of the equation, he drops his shield and tries to reach him.
Tumblr media
In the same movie, a few scenes earlier, Steve appeals to the personnel of SHIELD -- an organization that has labeled him a terrorist and been hunting him -- and paints out the reality of the situation, giving the good people within the opportunity to react and rebel against the element of HYDRA that has infiltrated -- which they do! But there isn’t a magical lionturtle showing up to tell him how to stop the helicarriers from taking off and murdering millions of people without any casualties, so, yanno. He does what he can.
Heck, Steve is occasionally teased by other characters for his speechifying -- not just to give pep talks, but to try to get through to people. He does this in the comics a lot. You’ve probably seen this page going around:
Tumblr media
It doesn’t always work out. But he tries.
You suggest Steve would punch someone who was wrong in Aang’s Fire Nation School, but I don’t agree with that reading on the character based on what we see Steve do. Steve very rarely is the one to completely initiate a fight. Usually he is reactive. He sees a situation where someone is being a jerk, points out the injustice, and if the person is insisting on hurting someone, Steve inserts himself to make sure it’s him instead of anyone else. Whether the jerk in question is a single bully or an entire army.
Tumblr media
You bring this scene up, but when Steve confronts the guy heckling in the movie theater (who is making a woman cry, I’ll add), it’s clear from the man’s posture when he stands up and Steve’s look of dread that while Steve has spoken up, the escalation to violence is not his choice. When we see him a moment later in the alley, he’s fighting defensively -- drawing the man’s ire, keeping him distracted. Steve is reactive in this entire scenario -- not the instigator. (and I think if Steve had Aang’s airbending, he’d love to dodge more punches instead of getting his ass kicked!)
The fact that Steve’s primary weapon is a shield -- a symbol of defense, not offense -- speaks to the fact his entire MO is protection. Violence not for violence’s sake, but to intervene in existing violence when there is no other recourse.
Tumblr media
But Steve also admittedly has a stronger sense of responsibility than Aang does at the series’ start. Aang dodges, but he also gets called out by other characters for running away from a lot of his problems instead of confronting them. Steve, if he were a bender, I think would likely be an Earthbender like Toph; solid, stubborn, listening and reacting (though ironically, he would lose his shit over the willful obliviousness and apathy of Ba Sing Se’s leadership). Steve feels a deep personal duty to always be in the thick of it where things are already at their worst.
Tumblr media
If there had been no deus ex machina energybending option presented at the eleventh hour, would it have been better for Aang to die and doom the world than to compromise his morals and kill the Fire Lord? It’s a question of hypothetical principles vs reality of harm in that instance. Aang as a character is allowed by the story to adhere to his principles and get a happy ending. Steve as a character does his best, but ultimately has to compromise with reality when he has to, when it’s not just his life at stake, but many others should he fail to act in time. In those high-stakes scenarios, his cards are often limited.
Steve as a character doesn’t arbitrarily start fights. But he goes to where the status quo is untenable, or where a fight is already raging, and he takes a stand. If he can convince someone to step down peacefully? That’s ideal! But usually by the time Captain America has shown up, there are megaweapons primed and loaded and fascists already hurting people or robots trying to destroy the planet or a Titan about to wipe everyone out, so the ideal option is rarely still on the table. No dance party is gonna be enough to change Red Skull’s crazy nazi mind about killing everyone (which is too bad, because I’d love to watch Steve do the lindy hop). There is no ‘chill way’ to stand for what’s right at that point.
And ultimately, I think we need both kinds of characters! I think it’s important to encourage diplomacy and compassion, to urge people to find common ground and to find nonviolent ways of diffusing and deescalating situations. To look at things from other perspectives, and to give people the option to learn and grow and be better than they were. I love a good rehabilitation arc, and think ATLA does this beautifully and has incredibly important messaging and philosophies.
But I also think we need stories that say, hey, when those options aren’t on the table? When no one is listening no matter what you try to say, when you’ve looked for a way around it and no lionturtles have showed up to save your ass? Sometimes, you have to put yourself in front of the guy swinging punches and raise you shield and stop him. Sometimes you don’t get the nice options that make you feel good; sometimes the world is messy and ugly; but sometimes, even if we can’t do the ideal thing, we can still do the right thing. Take action and put an end to the perpetuation of violence in the moment to protect the helpless. (Then work on rehabilitation and communication.)

jack/mirad & kai/helvi
I woke up at 8 and went like eeeh i can sleep another half an hour and them boom, 1pm
1. Who's the one who's reckless and always getting into trouble while the other gotta pull em out
Mirad has grown past his most reckless tendencies, Jack however hasn't, but he's more at danger to himself than to others
Kai is very careful when he's out hunting and he's never alone. Helvi however has a habit of going into the woods alone
2. Who's the one to send the other "I love my gf/bf" memes
I don't feel like either?
If they had phones it'd be Helvi
4. Which one spoils the other more and do they ever get competitive to show the other more love
Mirad spoils Jack, lets be real, it doesn't turn into a competition bc it's in moderation, and mostly Mirad treating Jack to some of his skincare products
Kai miiiiight spoil Helvi juuuuust a bit, he doesn't mind getting up way earlier to fix her breakfast and help her tie her hair and acquiring many fur blankets
5. How many years did it take to get married or was it just not for them
A few years for sure, when they both were sure about it. Probably talked about it too before Mirad proposed
Few years, if wasn't for Kai's role in the village they would've gotten married later, as neither really saw marriage as That important and just something they one day would like to do.
6. What was their wedding like
Small, just closest family and couple friends, nothing extravagant for the middle aged men
Whole day event basically with everyone from the village and surrounding area invited (against Kai's best wishes), Weddings, and especially high profile weddings like that are few and far between and they're quite the event. Small ceremony but then a huge feast with dancing singing and general revelry
7. Is their friends/family supportive
Ellen is very happy for them both, Mirad's parents were wary but approve later on, Marda is still sus about Jack
Very much so, Kory pretty much pushed them to get married already, Kat when she finds out is very happy for them both. Helvi's parents are so proud and treat Kai like close family
8. How does one comfort the other when the other is in distress/having a panic attack/crying
Mirad talks to Jack gently, checks if he hasn't hurt himself, bring him a snack and drink. When Mirad's distressed Jack will ask if he can do anything and keep him company if he lets him
If Kai's in distress he tends to shut down and all Helvi can really do is keep him company and hold him. If Helvi's upset Kai will call a timeout and just go somewhere with her where she can calm down and talk things through
9. Which one dissociates
Jack mostly
-
10. Which one stares at the other's booty like "damn" and how does the other react when catching them
Both. Mirad would be more cheeky (hehe) in his reaction while Jack is like "my booty?? :0"
Helvi. Kai blushes
11. When they live together what kinda place do they live in? What does their home look like?
Both had their separate places, where Mirad's was very neat and organized and Jack's was a whole mess. Jack would still keep his place as a workshop while he pretty much now lives with Mirad, where he learns to respect the house rules
They share a two-story chief's house with Kory and a garm, they have the whole lower level to themselves pretty much, and it's quite big, it's very cozy and bit cabin'y even if it's larger
13. How does each act when getting drunk
Jack's a sad drunk, first thing Mirad knew about him tbh. Mirad doesn't drink if I remember correct
Neither of them want to get Drunk drunk, just tipsy. Kai loosens up and gets chattier. Helvi gets giggly and cuddly
14. Which one rolls over in the morning to wake up the other one just to give kiss them
Beware the morning breath. Mirad wakes up before Jack
Kai doesn't wake Helvi up when he leaves the bed to go prepare breakfast, but when that's done he will kiss her goodmorning
16. Does one have an interest the other think is weird but wants to listen to it regardless
Jack likes welding for fun too, he's made some little "art" pieces for Mirad with textures he knows he likes, and Mirad appreciates it. Mirad's big into working out and Jack will be out of breath in two minutes if he joins but it's a pleasant experience
Helvi loves making potions and instruments and while Kai knows little about either he's up for helping her if she asks, she also sings. I know this seems kinda random bc I just know thought of it, but Kai's into drawing with charcoals, it would be fitting for his "quiet kid with not many friends" character (it hits a little too close home lmao)
17. Which one uses cropped hentai as reaction images
That's very much up Jack's alley
If they had phones, Helvi
18. Does one of them kinkshame the other
Not kinkshame, more like kink-concern on Mirad's part like "Jack, honey, WHY do you wanna be choked that hard"
Neither of them have really out there kinks, though Helvi would be up to do it in the woods. Just have to be extra careful they're far enough from any civilization
19. Is one of them self conscious about their body? If so how does the other comfort them
Jack, he's pudgy and wrinkly. Mirad doesn't mind it one bit and calling Jack a sexy beast on the regular makes Jack happy and less ashamed of his body
Helvi used to, before trans-your-gender spell hit, (and bc she basically got to decide what her body would look like of course she has no regrets) Kai is very body-neutral about himself, yeah that's a body, nothing special but ain't nothing wrong with it either
21. What is their song? Like the song that gives them overwhelming feelings?
Well I have listed Silent storm for them once and you know what, I stand by it
From Heilung Traust and Krigsgaldr (first half of it anyway), both were big inspirations for Helvi's character in general and Maria Franz is her voiceclaim too lol (also the guy on krigsgaldr second verse for Kai's voiceclaim (before 4.40 mark))
28. Are either of them mentally ill, if so how do they help one another cope
Jack is a recovering addict, also depressed, and alcoholic (recovering when they get together). Mirad is also an ex-addict and while he's much further into his recovery he's not immune to the shitty stuff that still might happen, they're each other's peer support
Helvi used to have bad dysphoria
29. Does one have a spot on them where they would melt when the other kisses them there
Head, forehead for Jack (and lips of course) he's not that big into getting kisses on his body. Mirad is sensitive everwhere but IIRC neck and sides are big
Helvi's wrists and neck just below her ears. Kai's throat and forehead
30. Do they dance together
Mirad poledances, Jack enjoys the view
At their wedding sure, both lil tipsy and letting loose, both lost their flower crowns that evening
31. Do they sing together
More like hum if they feel like it
Helvi's the one signing, Kai might join in on a verse or two
34. Are they a reckless couple or safe
Pretty safe with the occasional reckless on Jack's part
Safe
35. What be their kinks and do they try each other's kinks
Love and Care, and choking
They're pretty vanilla
37. Do they get into fights often? If so what do they fight over and how do they make up?
Arguments sure about Jack's self-destructive behaviors sometimes but the rule is never go to sleep angry so they both reflect on it with compassion
Not really, at least before The Incident, apologize and kiss and make up
38. Which one's top, bottom, verse
Mirad's a top, Jack is a pillow princess vers
Kai's top, Helvi's bottom
39. What kinda sex they be having (gentle rough whatever)
Whatever they're in the mood for, some tender lovin'? Sure! Get hot and heavy? With moderation. Break into laughter in the middle of it? Silly is also a mood!
It starts off as hot and heavy but calms down to more gentle
40. Who would fight in honor for the other if someone would insult them
Jack would just hit them with the "don't be meeeaaan 🥺🥺" Mirad I feel like would go the verbal route as well but more stern
It's common knowledge to Not insult the village shaman (the one who has illness remedies and the one who blesses you before you travel), and you DONT insult the the chief's kid/chief. They're both capable of defending themselves but Kai will step in if he happens to hear
44. Do they want kids
Nah, who needs kids when you got nieces
Yeah, and I've finally made up my mind, they're gonna adopt a bunch (and bc you dropped out of the campaign I can tell you how: a village not that near but not that far gets attacked by a power hungry druid and leaves bunch of kids without parents and the party will escort them back to Kai's village, before they go after the druid)

fic prompt + daily queenly duties
Well, this one definitely got away from me a little bit…
—-
The day starts at dawn. Not with an alarm, but nevertheless, like clockwork–
“Ouch! Ah, jeez–”
Kristoff opens an eye to watch Anna hop around on one foot, holding her stubbed toe in both hands as she inhales sharply and tries to keep from crying out any further.
“Did you kick the chair again?”
Realizing she has an audience, Anna puts her foot down and attempts to look regal and put-together. It’s a losing battle; her hair is all over the place and there’s still a bit of drool on her chin. It’s adorable.
“…No? Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you.”
“I keep telling you to move it.”
She shakes her head. He watches as she brushes out her tangles and ties her hair in a bun–as his wife fades to the background and the queen emerges in her stead. “If I move it Olaf can’t climb up to read us a bedtime story, and you know how much he loves that. It’s too heavy for him to move by himself.”
“We could always move it after he’s done.”
“Well then I’m comfy and I don’t want to leave bed.”
“I could move it.”
She smiles at him, winsome. “The bed’s comfy because you’re in it.”
He sees his chance and gives it his best shot–lifts up the covers to show his bare chest; the inviting spot on her side of the bed she’s just vacated. “I’m still in it now, y'know.”
Her nose scrunches as her face can’t decide whether to be playfully disapproving or to flirt right back. “You’re a terrible influence, Kristoff Bjorgman.”
“Yes, but I’m your terrible influence.”
Unable to suppress her grin at him any longer, she leans over the aforementioned chair just long enough to peck him on the lips, then disappears behind her privacy screen to change.
“What’s on the docket today?” he asks. On the other side of the divider, the vague outline of her silhouette disappears under layers of fabric.
“Oh, um. Open petitions this morning, and then a sit-down with the Stonecutter’s Guild. I guess some of the young apprentices are freaked out ever since meeting the Earth Giants because they’re worried all rocks have feelings? Which: they might, honestly. I’m going to have to ask Elsa–remind me to send her a note before breakfast, okay? Oh, and then tonight is the solstice pageant.”
“Can’t forget that.”
“Don’t be mean!”
“I’m not,” he laughs. “I’m genuinely looking forward to it.”
Queen Anna emerges from the other side of the wardrobe. “Well, good. Alright, I’ve got to check in with the castle staff and get my day going. I’ll see you downstairs?”
“Of course.”
-
Only she doesn’t, because by the time he actually makes it to the dining room he learns she’s long gone–she’s skipped breakfast to go deal with some issue at the fjord, two ships double-booked for the same dock and each refusing to yield to the other.
Sounds about par for the course.
Shaking his head, he wanders down to the kitchens for a sandwich or two, scribbles out a note for Elsa, and heads out to the dell where Gale likes to gambol and play most mornings. Anna’s better at finding Gale than Kristoff is; more than once he’s caught her laughing at him for talking to a stiff breeze that was simply that, and nothing more. It takes up more of his morning than he’d like, but eventually he feels the telltale tickle under his chin that he’s in the presence of the wind spirit.
“Hey. I know Elsa’s coming down tonight, but Anna’s got a question that can’t wait until then. Do you mind?”
Gale blows his hat right off his head, which he takes to mean don’t be silly. Or possibly how dare you, I’m very insulted, but hopefully not. Like he said: he’s not as good at this as Anna.
“Thanks,” he says, and he opens his palm to let the gusts carry his note away. He watches until it’s disappeared past the treeline, just in case.
He heads back to the castle, arriving just as the sun hits its zenith. Anna hates these short winter days, he knows–doesn’t like the idea of the dark outweighing the light. The solstice will be good for her; every day from here on out a little brighter than the last.
Open petitions are in full swing in the front hall–he lingers in the back for a bit to watch Anna work. Long gone is the single throne and long queue of Agnarr’s day. Elsa rethought the space about three times during her reign, and Anna’s made further changes, since. Now the dais contains a few overstuffed armchairs, and a side table for tea. Anyone who comes to speak to Queen Anna does so in comfort, and on her level. They… chat. Like friends; like equals.
When she wraps up the inquiry she was working on–some sort of misunderstanding about a dowry, and a young couple pretty desperate to give back what sounds like the world’s most ornery goat to the bride’s father–Kristoff strides to the front of the room.
“Sorry folks, just gonna call a quick recess, okay? Ice Master privilege, sorry, I’ll give the Queen back in just a minute.”
Before Anna has a chance to protest, he escorts her out the room and into a side hall.
“What are you doing?” she asks, unable to quite keep the laughter at his antics out of her voice. “I still have like a half-dozen people to see.”
“Yeah, I noticed. Which is why I figured you could probably use a pick-me-up.” With that, he takes the wrapped sandwiches from this morning from his satchel.
Her shoulders drop in relief at the smell of the fresh-baked bread; she immediately snatches one from his hands and starts scarfing it down. “Oh my gosh, I’m starving. How did you know?”
He knows because it’s his job to know. Anna takes care of Arendelle. Kristoff takes care of Anna. It’s as simple as that.
“Maybe you shouldn’t have skipped breakfast, feistypants.”
“Duty called,” she shrugs, unapologetically talking with her mouth full. “And hey, that’s ‘Queen Feistypants’ to you.”
“Apologies, your Majesty,” he teases, dropping into a low, ostentatious bow. His hat falls off with the movement, but when he goes to pick it up, it dances away from his hand.
“Wait, what? Oh, for–Gale!” he groans, and snatches at the air as the wind plays keep-away with him. “C'mon, give it back.”
Anna slaps her forehead. “Oh no, I was supposed to ask–oh,” she blinks as Kristoff’s parchment falls daintily into her hand, Elsa’s reply scribbled on the back. “Thanks.” She scans the note quickly. “Well, apparently there’s some sort of knocking test you can do to see if a rock has the spirit or not; Ryder can come down and teach it to the guild members. That’s easy enough.”
Kristoff raises an eyebrow. “Ryder has to tell these kids 'only dead rocks don’t knock back?’”
“They’re not dead rocks, they’re never-been-alive rocks. Totally different.” She polishes off the last of her sandwich and–when she gives him a plaintive, puppydog look–the last few bites of his, as well. “Okay, I’d better get back to work. Catch up with you tonight; thanks again, love you!”
And then there’s a quick kiss and she’s gone, like the whirling dervish she is. Or maybe that’s just Gale, chasing along behind her.
-
He’s at loose ends for the rest of his day–an ice harvester doesn’t tend to have as much to do, in the winter–and decides to ride out and meet Elsa halfway. Sven brays happily at the opportunity to go full speed, and before long they’re racing through fresh powdery snow. Just for the thrill, just for the fun of it. It is in these moments–bitter wind stinging at his face, the world whooshing past him in a rush–that Kristoff thinks he best understands the two women who make up his family. The freedom of speed and cold air and ground under your feet. The joy of going as fast as you can, because you trust your own legs to carry you. Or, y'know. Sven’s legs, as the case may be.
Anna’s the one who’s good at metaphors. He’s just along for the ride.
He hears them approach before he sees them–Ryder shouting out a Northuldra call-and-response song, a children’s rhyme about reindeer. Elsa’s voice chimes in on the refrains–hesitant, tremulous, happy. Like she’s still not quite certain she remembers all the words, but she’s so pleased to be included she can’t help but try anyway. It brings a full-toothed grin to Kristoff’s face, unbidden; he dismounts as they crest the ridge ahead and come into view.
“Kristoff!” the two shout in messy union, then immediately engage in a race to get to him first. The Nokk leaves Ryder in the dust; in moments, Kristoff’s got an armful of ex-Queen as Elsa jumps down into his arms.
“Hey,” he laughs, “I missed you, too.”
“What about my Kristoff hugs?” Ryder pouts as he catches up. Elsa squeezes Kristoff just a little bit tighter.
“Get your own. This one’s a family heirloom.”
“Imagine if I played that card every time you hugged Honeymaren,” Ryder teases slyly, and Kristoff bites back a laugh at the way Elsa turns bright, bright red. She lets him go and draws herself up to her full height, clearing her throat and squaring her shoulders. All he sees is Anna pulling the same maneuver that morning, and he can’t help it–the giggles escape, despite his best efforts.
“That’s quite enough of that,” she grumbles, re-mounting her horse. “We should get going or we’ll be late.”
Ryder settles for a fist-bump, in the meantime, and the three of them turn and make their way back towards Arendelle.
-
It seems like the whole town has turned out for the solstice pageant, the amphitheater down by the fjord filled with the buzz of proud families waiting for the kids to begin. Anna’s saved a whole passel of seats toward the front–piled high with cloaks to stop other people from sitting there. As though people might edge in on the Queen’s saved seats.
Kristoff feels his heart melt for her that much more.
Elsa and Anna do their usual song and dance at being reunited, prompting good-natured eye-rolls from everyone around them, and then the lights go down and the curtains come up. They hurriedly fall into their chairs as the schoolmaster comes out on stage.
“Hello parents, friends, and families! As you know, the children have been working hard on our little revue these past few weeks, and they’re very eager to share it with all of you. Enjoy!”
All the students shuffle out, holding hands. And there, standing among them, is Olaf–clearly scanning the crowd for their friendly faces. Anna lets out a whoop, and he positively beams at them.
Kristoff crosses his fingers. “Here we go,” he murmurs under his breath.
Olaf had been begging for the chance to go to school for ages now–but after he learned to read, they kind of ran out of excuses not to let him. The other children are more than used to his presence, and he loves coming home every day with new facts to share with all of them. Honestly, he’s thriving–though he had been heartbroken not to get the part of the Spirit of Summer to Come in the solstice pageant, cast instead as, perhaps predictably enough, a snowman.
Olaf nails every single one of his lines; at one point, Anna elbows Kristoff in the ribs, eyes mirthful, and he realizes he’s been mouthing along with them the whole time. After the final song, they all jump to their feet and cheer. Elsa puts her fingers to her lips and whistles loud, just the way Kristoff taught her.
-
The rest of the evening is a blur–Olaf dangling between Anna and Kristoff’s hands as they all walk home; Elsa and Ryder talking over each other at dinner in their eagerness to share all they’re learning about Ahtohallan; a lively game of Twister that Anna wins easily (Olaf being disqualified after detaching his arm to reach left hand blue). Ryder and Anna make plans to meet back up with the stonecutters first thing the next day, as Anna will be swamped the whole of the afternoon with trade delegation meetings. Kristoff has to all but drag her away before she can promise away what little free time she has left to making final adjustments on plans for the New Year’s ball in the coming days–“that’s tomorrow-you’s problem,” he reminds her, and she lets herself be led away by the hand.
And then finally, at long last, it’s just the two of them.
This, perhaps, is Kristoff’s favorite moment of the day: when Anna takes off her crown, lets down her hair, and curls up against him. Just Anna, no more, no less.
“I’m e-e-exhausted,” she yawns, burying her face in his shoulder, and he drops a kiss onto her forehead.
“Just one more queenly duty for the day,” he chuckles, before calling out “Okay buddy, we’re ready!” towards the door.
The quiet sound that had served as background noise throughout their nightly routine, of Olaf counting to one thousand on the other side of the door, goes quiet. “Are you sure?” he asks. “I’m only at eight hundred and thirty four.”
“Come on in, Olaf,” Anna laughs, and he does–dragging the book they’ve been reading behind him. On little snowball feet, he makes his way to the bed and, as Anna knows he likes to, clambers up onto the bedside chair before perching on the armrest.
“Are you ready?” Olaf asks, his eager smile pulling a little to one side, just like Elsa’s does. At their nods he begins: “Chapter Eight: The Enigma Becomes Doubly Mysterious. The child had laid her head on a stone and fallen asleep…” They gasp in all the right places as Jean Valjean realizes Cosette’s gone icy cold in the snow and cannot be roused; when the chapter ends on a cliffhanger, they even let him read on, until they know Cosette is safe. “One more?” he asks hopefully when he reaches the end of chapter nine, but he takes it with grace when Anna shakes her head–finishing their ritual by giving each of them a hug and lugging off his book, closing the door soundly behind him.
“I still feel like giving him that book was probably a mistake,” Kristoff chuckles.
“The schoolmaster says his vocabulary is improving too fast for us to hold him back.”
“Yeah, but Les Miserables?”
“He’s tough; he can handle it,” she says with certainty, and, well: the Queen has spoken. Who is Kristoff to argue?
Out of habit, his hand drifts up; he traces a delicate line with his pinky from the top of Anna’s forehead to the tip of her nose, once, and then again. Her gaze goes dreamy and disoriented, her blinks growing longer–and then her eyes narrow and she frowns, shaking him off. “Hey, quit it.”
“Quit what?” he teases, but she’s sitting up now, climbing into his lap to straddle him, and–oh.
“One more thing to check off my to-do list before bed,” she murmurs into his mouth, and oh, that’s awful, but–
Somehow, he just doesn’t have it in him to complain.

Sore with shadow and vio, manga vers or your AU is fine
[[oooh i’m gonna make this a sequel to the delirious one]]
“Everything,” Shadow groans, when he comes around, “Fuckin’ hurts.” He tries to rub his head- it feels sticky and hot and it’s throbbing- and he does and when he looks at his hand there’s crusted-over blood on it. His wrists hurt, and it looks like he’s got rope burn on them, and his ankles are sore too.
Blue isn’t around, but Vio is, sitting over by the fire, presumably making breakfast. He could definitely use something to eat. Slowly, agonizingly, he pushes himself up, steadies himself on shaky feet and shambles over to Vio.
Or, at least, he tries to, because he hasn’t gotten more than five steps towards him when he gets up, and lightning-quick has an arrow strung and pointed directly at his face.
“What the fuck,” He says, stumbles back a step and stares wide-eyed at Vio.
“Tell me who you really are.” Vio’s eyes are cold, and calculating, the kind of gaze he sets on monsters and the kind of gaze he definitely doesn’t want on him. “Because I know you are not ‘just a hylian’.”
“What are you-”
“You know what I’m talking about. Playing dumb might fool other people. Not me.”
This is a precarious situation, to say the least. He’s sure that the moment the word Yiga comes out of his mouth Vio’s going to let go of that bowstring. But he’s also sure that he isn’t going to be able to lie his way out of this, or at least not to Vio. He’s half-sheikah, after all, and not very kind towards liars.
He does know some magic to wipe memories, but if the hole in his memory is anything to tell by last night was a blood moon, and he’s weak and low on strength, and even a full-blooded (ex)sheikah isn’t fast enough to duck an arrow at point-blank range.
He blows out a long breath. “Okay, look-”
“I am not interested in excuses.”
“I know. I’ll tell you-”
“Yes, I know you will.”
“Would you stop interrupting me? Just put the bow down! If I tell you you’ll just shoot me without waiting to hear the rest.”
“I am not so foolish.” Still, cautiously, he does relax the string. “We will sit. You stay just where you are, and I swear to the goddess if you make even one false move I will not hesitate.”
He doesn’t doubt the sincerity of that at all. He does as told and sits, even folds his hands in his lap, keeps them in full view so Vio doesn’t get the wrong idea.
“So?”
“I’m an ex-Yiga.” He wants to just get that out, no suspense, no leading, because he’s not sure he’d have the courage, especially when Vio’s reaching for- “But wait wait wait before you grab the bow please don’t shoot me I’m not done.”
“There is no telling whether you’ve truly quit. Even if you have I’m not certain I can trust you.”
“Vio- Vio you have to have known.”
“I’ve suspected for quite some time that you were sheikah. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed you were at least a little bit above becoming a member of the Yiga.”
“I am! That’s why I left! It sucked there!”
“Then why bother joining?”
“‘Cause I was a stupid kid and didn’t have anywhere else to go.” He shrugged. “I dunno how many times I’d heard about the Yiga as a kid. Some big secretive group of outlaws, sneaking around doing the Calamity’s work. I figured hey, it’s something to do, and after my parents died everyone felt like they had to keep me in sight at all times. I didn’t like it so I left and wandered around until I met a Yiga disguised as a traveler along the road, and it just kinda went from there.”
“When did you leave them?”
“…A few years ago. I only stayed for maybe four years. It was… too much. They keep a list of all the people they’ve killed, you know. Up on the wall, posted outside Kohga’s room, like a big banner of pride.”
“So killing people was fine, but reading about it just broke the camel’s back, then? Why?”
“I read the list.” He’s quiet, for a moment. “Maybe I’m not the best person ever, but I feel like working for the people that killed my parents is wrong in some kind of way.”
Vio isn’t sure how to respond to that, he can tell. He doesn’t really blame him. He wasn’t even sure how to respond to it, when he first found out.
“I feel as though I should apologize,” He says, after a time, “But then, you’ve been lying to us for, what, four years now?”
“Wasn’t lying, really-”
“Lying. Deceit by omission. It does not make much of a difference.” He sighs, draws shapeless patterns in the dirt with the tip of his dagger. “Shadow. Is Shadow even your name?”
“Not legally. But I think I’d rather use that than my real one.”
“Right, well, this is important information. You know that, don’t you? Inside information on the Yiga. That could do something.”
“I’m not welcome back there. I’d be killed on the spot. I’m sure they’ve changed things since I ditched. I don’t think I’ll be of much use.”
“Even what you do know can help.”
“Look, Vio, even if that’s true… I’m tied to Ganon. I mean I’m sure you guessed that the second I said I was ex-Yiga. But for fuck’s sake, Vio, I’m tied to Ganon! I can’t help anyone!”
“Would you not have severed those ties once you left the Yiga?”
“That isn’t how that works.” He’s starting to get panicky just thinking about it. “Vio- for the love of Hylia. Vio, initiation is drinking Malice. Drinking Malice. You don’t understand. You really don’t. It isn’t your fault but you don’t know a single fucking goddamn thing about what’s really going on with me.”
“Calm down,” Vio tells him, as if that’d help, seems unsure of what to do. “Shadow. Calm down. Of course I don’t know if you’ve never told me.”
“Look,” He manages to choke out, his throat feels tight and he doesn’t know why, “Look. You don’t. You don’t rip up your contract and it’s just a happy little goodbye. It’s for life and if you try to desert they hunt you down. I’m lucky. I’m lucky I’m still even alive. Do you know how terrifying that is- to know you’re being hunted? I’m dead meat once they find me. And they will because I’m still technically one of them. You can’t just leave, Vio!”
“Shadow, please,” Vio’s voice is soft, a tone Shadow’s heard him use very rarely. “You need to calm down. I’m sure we can find a way-”
“No! We can’t! You know that’s how I’m able to use magic, right? The Malice? I cut myself off from that and I’m defenseless! A sitting duck!”
“It is for the best. We will be here, to help you. One of us can teach you to fight without magic, it isn’t so difficult once you-”
“No. No. I’m not doing it, I can’t!”
“Shadow. I am going to tell the others about this, once we’ve reunited. You can take the risk of completely alienating yourself or you can take the risk of getting better.”
He’s silent, for a good long while, staring at the ground and then at Vio and then back at the ground.
“I need to think about it,” He mutters, finally, and stalks off into the trees.

Name chart
-this has been in my drafts for a while, so fuck it, I'm just gonna upload it. Its really just for me to keep track of who’s who.
Also, this was updated randomly for a while, though most of it I just dumped here today.
Will keep updating whenever.
Victor: Sad sad purple man. A curious, happy child, who turned into a sad, scared, timid child, who turned into a sad, timid man. His life has changed SO much for the better after meeting Wonder. He actually started going out. Thank you Wonder, you turned this hermit into less of a hermit. L.O.V.E.S pretty clothes. Wanted to learn how to sew at a young age, finally learned when he was around 20. Has had many years to practice. He’s around 110. Not sure exact age. Around 110. Past a little. Maybe he's 118?? Around. After his mother died, would constantly have nightmares and night terrors about it. Couldnt sleep. Eventually turned to not so great methods of getting to sleep once he got older. Has a fondness for butterflies. He likes their wings, they're pretty. Likes pretty things in general. A fan of tea. Its the only thing he can cook. Has started to get cooking sessions from Ilo. Loves Ilo. He loves Ilo. God does he love Ilo. Have I mentioned he loves Ilo? He does. A lot. Is planning a life together with his boyfriend, soon to be maybe husband?? (Ilo.) Is happier now because of that. Recently got his mom back, in a way. The tree she turned into is planted near his house now. Constantly visits her. Like everyday, if possible. Just talks to her. He’d punch someone for saying that though, he has a reputation to uphold. Loves Ari and would murder armies for him. If he ever gets his hand on a guitar or bass, would love to learn it. Trying to learn how to write English. Has not the best handwriting. Its not awful though, he used to have to write a lot. H A T E S paperwork. Likes his hair slicked back. Loves snakes, a snake from his world specifically, called the Spiked Bandit. Got it tattooed on his back. I have been told it looks like a tramp stamp. Oops. Snakes are his favorite, but he likes lizards too. Is not a fan of squishy animals. Got his name from shop keepers as he was growing up in the streets. Loves his name. Its a word in old Grey language. Means “snake”, “thief,” “trickster,” “lier.” God he was so proud of that name as a kid. Since he had to steal to get food, it would be a pretty good thing to literally be called thief I guess. Anyway, he was good at it. Got kidnapped at a very young age, and “used” at the black market. The old boss had taken a liking to him. It was not a good time. Once Sirin got a little older, he started to be able to use his magic, at the same time the black market decided he’d be good as an actual worker. As he trained for whatever common workers in the BM do, (I dunno, scale buildings and stuff. Learn the lay of the town, good spots to run, hide. Steal people. Sell drugs. Ect. Illegal stuff.) he would teach himself how to use his magic at night. Doesnt like fighting close. His magic usually manifests as chains, appropriate. Can change the density (?? how much they would hurt. Ex: getting hit by a pillow, vs, getting hurt by a chain.) how many they are (can make up to six at a time), how fast they can move, can suspend them for a few seconds, if they are spiked or not. He can also form spikes along his body. Is mostly a reflex, and he can accidentally hurt people with that. EXTREMELY scared of accidentally hurting Ari that way.      Born High Winter day 15 probably. Was dumped in the trash shortly after being born. (his mom was young, she couldnt take care of him. shes dead. Dads still alive in a different town.) Used to have a tattoo marking him as “property” of the black market, PROMPTLY sliced that off once he killed the old boss and took his place. Actually, now that i think about it, his back is REALLY fucked up from that. Wow. Okay. Will update that when drawing him. Besides that mess, his back is littered with smaller scars, along with the edge of his shoulders, a bit around his neck, a little on his sides, and some around his hips. Will not allow people to see his back. If someone gets to see his back it means he really trusts them.  Halfling, unknown to him until recently. I'm not really sure about his age yet. He could be like around 40, but maybe not, cause like, its more like he's in his 20s so maybe he's just in his 20′s idk. Is perpetually tired. Seems to always have some dark under his eyes. Would eat pure sugar if he could. He could. He has. One of the first things he did once he was no longer under the black market was buy a few cakes then ate cake until he threw up. ......Then started eating cake again. Skin is a light green, and a little rough if you rub it one direction. Sorta like shark skin, but less. Can see in the dark. Eyes glow when under stress, or extreme emotions. Once Typheous was killed (by him) he put Sena in charge. Checks up on her occasionally. Put an old abandoned building to use, made it free housing for some of his lower ranking workers, as well as the orphan kids around town. Would always bring food to them. Can't really do that anymore, he's never around. The building looks kinda like a warehouse/hotel?? Idk. No body really knows who started the house, only that it's a safe, if dingy and kinda cold, place to find shelter. It's dry at least. Sirin made sure no one knew who did it (reputation.) He has a small apartment there. Keeps his clothes in the cupboards. Not a lot of furniture in there really. Has a habit of going out in the cold without proper clothing. Sits and just thinks sometimes. Used to sometimes just sleep in a tree outside of town when it was warmer. Has anger problems. Still a little bit of an asshole, depending on who he's talking to. Has a burning hate for apples. Will still eat them though. Hates spicy food. Likes meat. Has had a hole punched through him by Seldom. Was briefly a doughnut. A person doughnut. Gosh this boy is just fulla injuries past and present. The hole situation is better now.              Pansexual. Typheous: (Tie- fee- O ss) Used to be Sirin’s second in command. Meaning, Sirin loved to annoy the hell out of him. Used to be in charge of a lot of the stuff in the market. VERY homophobic. Was garbage, not the best kind. Was the “new leader” for a short time, as Sirin was stuck with Victor/Wonder/and Ilo. Poked around in stuff that was none of his business, was an asshole about it, and is dead now. Bye.     he was straight. Very. Very. straight.
Cisor: (Si- sore) Raph’s hound. Aggressive. Was probably a cute puppy.
Ciro Niver: (Si- row  Nigh- ver) Gilli and Lita’s little brother. A. Dor. A. BLE. Wonder did something to him, and I guess he has a little magic now??? Idk. Will clarify. Almost died cause Seldom’s an asshole. I think he's 6 at the moment. Somewhere around there. Pretty sure it's 6 though. Never met his dad. Loves fluffy animals the best. A rascal. Thinks his sister is loud. Would be the kid that says girls have cooties. His sister has cooties. He loves his sister. Hates when his mom makes soup with the gross green leafy stuff in it. Likes when they have meat. Likes the new house, but misses his old room. He shouldn't. He used to live in a tiny cold attic. His mom used to have to crouch when she went up there. And she's short. EVERYONE had to crouch when they went up there. Kinda misses the squeaky stairs.            Straight, when he's older? And I guess now?? Does it work like that??? Idk he's 6. His greatest love is his toys at the moment.
Tide: Gilli’s boy friend. Has a smoking problem. Likes to never wear a shirt. That doesnt work too well in Winter.      Gay.
Itella: (E- tell- la) Victor’s caretaker and guardian. Seldom killed her. Was totally cool, a complete badass. I miss her. Had a spider torso. Loved to wear low cut dresses with tons of ruffle at the bottom. Kinda mean, but for the best. Loved Victor. Super smart. Used to be an assistant/ partner with Nico. Kept lots of plants around in her house. Her house was a mess. Books and plants everywhere. Dusty in places. Never ate in front of Victor, didn't want to frighten him as a child. The habit stayed even when Victor was older.             Asexual, aromantic.
Seldom: Victor’s father. Dick. Was banished from whatever the name of his people’s lands are called. I gotta name stuff. Conquest’s son. Blind in his lower eyes, and had his lowers arms removed when he was born. They didn't work.     Straight.
Rune: Victor’s mother. Dead. Killed by her husband, Seldom. Very nice. Now a tree. Still very nice. Died Summer day 2???????? Same race as Rapheal, whatever that is. They turn into plants when they die, I still gotta develop them.      Straight.
Nico: Reformer. Knows Tulli. Is someone close to Itella. Not sure of their relationship yet, besides partners in business, like, coworkers. They do science or something?       Aromantic. Pansexual.
Riva Niver: Gilli's mom. Super sweet. Has a stutter. Extremely relived to have a new house, thank you Wonder. No longer has to worry about brittle stairs that Ciro woNT STOP RUNNING ON. Still sad about her husband’s death, but tries not to let her children see that. Loves her kids more than anything.     Straight.
Sena:   Silver. Girl left in charge of the black market in Sirin’s stead. Used to just work the shop they used to hide an entrance. Was understandably freaked out when she was just put in charge of the whole market. Many people would like her dead now. She's got a good bodyguard though. I hope she doesn't die, she's nice.
Lita Niver: Ciro/Gilli’s sister. An adorable miss. Best friends with Miki. Loves cute clothes, sweets, going out and getting drunk and hitting on cute guys. Wishes she had a boyfriend. Works at a cafe across the cafe Miki works at. Isn't treated so great there. :/  Is optimistic. Has a shitty apartment that she refuses to believe is shitty. Its shitty. its basically a closet. Very small. I love her.     Straight
Ryko: Centipede man. Will wait days at a time for food. Could eat any animal really, but prefers the taste of people. Sadistic. An asshole. I love him. Has cool tattoos on his arms. They might not be tattoos and just markings. They're probably markings. He's a fucking centipede man who lives in the fucking jungle, WHO IS GONNA GIVE HIM TATTOOS?? They're markings.       ????? I dont know What the fuck he is. Straight??? Maybe.
Serena: Purple haired man’s sister. A human. Getting married soon. A no-nonsense attitude.            Straight.
Arrvin: Human. Serena’s brother. Has dyed purple hair. Has a pigeon named Randy. Sweetest guy he's so great. ;w; Wants to be an architect probably. He lives in an apartment. I dont know how he gets the money yet. He sure does have a job though. Maybe a few. Can make bomb ass waffles. Birds love him. Maybe he just always has birdseed in his pockets. Can birds smell that??   Asexual, panromantic.
Cena: Reformer who lives out in the jungle. Has a relationship of sorts with Ryko. Is blind, but good at getting around. Unlike the other Reformers, doesnt keep “helpers” around. Isn't lonely though. Prefers silence and tea. On rainy days, she likes to sit in her library near the window and just listen.
Ossis: Wolvos who lives up North. Friends of Felix, and Cole. A good good happy boy. Likes eyeshadow. Kinda tough to get where he lives, whenever he goes to a big enough town he's sure to pick some up.
Kai: Leader (?) of the Wolvos. Kinda hate loves Felix and Cole. Like, the kinda love where they’re just constantly exasperated with them. Lives up North, with the main tribe. I still really need to work on him.
Gilli Niver: (Gi- lee) Tide’s boyfriend. Lita and Ciro’s big brother. Very easy going. Owns a little shop with Tide. I think its a bakery?? Favorite season is Spring. A fan of bitter drinks paired with sweets. Used to do drugs. Bad, bad Gilli. Doesn't anymore. Hates Winter.          Gay.
Miki: The coolest. Best friends with Lita. Speaks with a bit of an accent. Would kill to protect Lita. Probably knows how to properly hide a body. Buff as hell. She’s so fun to draw, I love her.       Gay. Gosh she loves girls.
Felix: Wolvos. Adorable. A soft boy. Gets into trouble sometimes. Seems to know everyone. A person who would always have “"a pleasure to have in class” written on their report card. Prefers always being in semi wolf form. Likes running for miles when he's out of town, and is an actual wolf. Owns a stand with his brother. It's across from the fabric seller Victor always buys his fabrics from. Has heard a lot about Victor (everyone has, only bad rumors though), and would like to actually met the guy one day. Has a favorite scarf and likes to wear it. Dresses well.             Bisexual.
Lokell Niver: Riva’s dead husband. Was a nice dude. Died in an accident.
Silis: Some guy Sirin's friends with. Owns a building company. Said company will work for the BM when hired, usually through Silis being paid in both money, and organs. He eats em.   Looks bored half the time. Loves gold stuff. Trans. Is already done with someone's shit before he even meets em. Naga.
March: A cute goat (maybe fawn, idk yet not set in stone, I think he's a goat) guy. Can disguise his voice to sound like anything. Loves masks. Has a neat lil collection in his house. Prefers loose clothing. Likes reading. His magic takes the form of purple electricity. Trans. Unlike Tulli, Nico, ect, he can't really change how he looks (ex: Tulli can turn into a bird, “dyes” his hair, Nico’s a tree, ect) but makes up for it with the voice thing.

THE PROPHECY OF OSEE - From The Douay-Rheims Bible - Latin Vulgate
Chapter 11
INTRODUCTION.
Osee, or Hosea, whose name signifies a saviour, was the first in the order of time among those who are commonly called lesser prophets, because their prophecies are short. He prophesied in the kingdom of Israel, (that is, of the ten tribes) about the same time that Isaias prophesied in the kingdom of Juda. Ch. --- The chronological order is not observed in any edition. The Sept. very from the rest. They place the less before the greater prophets, and read some of the names rather differently, as Prot. do also, though they have nothing but novelty to recommend the change. We shall here specify the Prot. names, (H.) in the order in which these prophets appeared: (C.) 1. Hosea, 2. Amos, 3. Jonah, 4. Micah, 5. Nahum, 6. Joel, 7. Zephaniah, 8. Habakkuk, 9. Obadiah, 10. Haggai, 11. Zechariah, 12. Malachi. H. --- It is not known who collected them into one volume. but the book of Ecclesiasticus (xlix. 12.) speaks of the twelve; and 4 Esd. i. 39. specifies them as they are found in the Sept. Osee, Amos, Micheas, Joel, Abdias, Jonas, Nahum, &c. as in the Vulg. C. --- Many other prophets appeared before these, (W.) but Osee is the first of the sixteen whose works are extant. He must have continued his ministry about eighty-five years, and lived above one hundred and ten, if the first verse speaks of him alone. But some take it to regard the whole collection, and may be added by another hand. C. --- The style of Osee is sententious and very hard to be understood, (S. Jer.) as but little is known of the last kings of Israel, in whose dominions he lived, and to whom he chiefly refers, though he speaks sometimes of Juda, &c. C. --- By taking a wife, and other parables, he shews their criminal conduct and chastisment, and foretells their future deliverance and the benefits to be conferred by Christ. We must observe that the prophets often style the kingdom of the two tribes, Juda, Benjamin, Jerusalem, or the house of David; and that of the ten tribes, Ephraim, Joseph, Samaria, Jezrahel, Bethel, or Bethaven; and often Israel or Jacob till after the captivity of these tribes, when the latter titles refer to Juda, who imitated the virtues of Jacob better than the other kingdom. W. --- Then all distinction of this nature was at an end. H.
The additional Notes in this Edition of the New Testament will be marked with the letter A. Such as are taken from various Interpreters and Commentators, will be marked as in the Old Testament. B. Bristow, C. Calmet, Ch. Challoner, D. Du Hamel, E. Estius, J. Jansenius, M. Menochius, Po. Polus, P. Pastorini, T. Tirinus, V. Bible de Vence, W. Worthington, Wi. HAYDOCK CATHOLIC BIBLE COMMENTARY
This Catholic commentary on the Old Testament, following the Douay-Rheims Bible text, was originally compiled by Catholic priest and biblical scholar Rev. George Leo Haydock (1774-1849). This transcription is based on Haydock's notes as they appear in the 1859 edition of Haydock's Catholic Family Bible and Commentary printed by Edward Dunigan and Brother, New York, New York.
TRANSCRIBER'S NOTES
Changes made to the original text for this transcription include the following:

Chapter 11
God proceeds in threatening Israel for their ingratitude: yet he will not utterly destroy them.
[1] As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel passed away. Because Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt.
Sicut mane transiit, pertransiit rex Israel. Quia puer Israel, et dilexi eum; et ex Aegypto vocavi filium meum.
[2] As they called them, they went away from before their face: they offered victims to Baalim, and sacrificed to idols.
Vocaverunt eos, sic abierunt a facie eorum; Baalim immolabant, et simulacris sacrificabant.
[3] And I was like a foster father to Ephraim, I carried them in my arms: and they knew not that I healed them.
Et ego quasi nutritius Ephraim : portabam eos in brachiis meis, et nescierunt quod curarem eos.
[4] I will draw them with the cords of Adam, with the bands of love: and I will be to them as one that taketh off the yoke on their jaws: and I put his meat to him that he might eat.
In funiculis Adam traham eos, in vinculis caritatis; et ero eis quasi exaltans jugum super maxillas eorum, et declinavi ad eum ut vesceretur.
[5] He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king: because they would not be converted.
Non revertetur in terram Aegypti, et Assur ipse rex ejus, quoniam noluerunt converti.
[6] The sword hath begun in his cities, and it shall consume his chosen men, and shall devour their heads.
Coepit gladius in civitatibus ejus, et consumet electos ejus, et comedet capita eorum.
[7] And my people shall long for my return: but a yoke shall be put upon them together, which shall not be taken off.
Et populus meus pendebit ad reditum meum; jugum autem imponetur eis simul, quod non auferetur.
[8] How shall I deal with thee, O Ephraim, shall I protect thee, O Israel? how shall I make thee as Adama, shall I set thee as Seboim? my heart is turned within me, my repentance is stirred up.
Quomodo dabo te, Ephraim? protegam te, Israel? Quomodo dabo te sicut Adama, ponam te ut Seboim? Conversum est in me cor meum, pariter conturbata est poenitudo mea.
[9] I will not execute the fierceness of my wrath: I will not return to destroy Ephraim: because I am God, and not man: the holy one in the midst of thee, and I will not enter into the city.
Non faciam furorem irae meae; non convertar ut disperdam Ephraim, quoniam Deus ego, et non homo; in medio tui sanctus, et non ingrediar civitatem.
[10] They shall walk after the Lord, he shall roar as a lion: because he shall roar, and the children of the sea shall fear.
Post Dominum ambulabunt; quasi leo rugiet, quia ipse rugiet, et formidabunt filii maris.
[11] And they shall fly away like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of the Assyrians: and I will place them in their own houses, saith the Lord.
Et avolabunt quasi avis ex Aegypto, et quasi columba de terra Assyriorum : et collocabo eos in domibus suis, dicit Dominus.
[12] Ephraim hath compassed me about with denials, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Juda went down as a witness with God, and is faithful with the saints.
Circumdedit me in negatione Ephraim, et in dolo domus Israel; Judas autem testis descendit cum Deo, et cum sanctis fidelis.
Commentary:
Ver. 1. Away. The last kings of Israel lived in the midst of troubles. H. --- Osee, though one of the best, brought ruin on the nation. C. --- Son: Israel. But as the calling of Israel out of Egypt was a figure of the calling of Christ from thence; therefore this text is also applicable to Christ, as we learn from S. Mat. ii. 15. Ch. Julian pretends that the apostle has abused this text. But it speaks of both events. S. Jer. --- Eusebius (Dem. ix. 3.) thinks that S. Mat. refers to Balaam; (Num. xxiv. 8.) and S. Jerom does not reject this opinion, (in Mat. ii. C.) to avoid "wrangling," though he repeatedly alleges this text as a proof his version being more accurate than that of the Sept. which has his children. This reading the best editions retain; so that it may seem a matter of surprise, that Fabricius should give this verse as a specimen of Origen's Hexapla, and still print my son, taking it, as he says, from the Barbarini copy, the London Polyglot, and Cave. Bib. Gr. iii. 12. The first column has the Heb. text, and the second the same in Greek characters, &c. The reader may form a judgment of this work from the following specimen: 1. Heb. (which we shall express) karathi bani. 2. Gr. karaqi bani. 3. Aq. ekalesa ton uion mou. 4. Sym. keklhtai uioV mou. 5. Sept. keklhtai uioV mou. 6. Th. kai ekalesa uion mou. If any other versions were added, to form Octapla, &c. they were placed after Theodotion, who, though prior to Symmachus, is placed after him, because his version was not so unlike that of the Sept. and the deficiencies were chiefly supplied from him. In the Rom. and Alex. edit. instead of the above we find, metekalesa ta tekna autou. "I have recalled his children." H. --- This is literally spoken of Israel, (styled God's son, Ex. iv 23.) and mystically, (W.) though no less (H.) truly, of Jesus Christ, as the inspired evangelist shews. W.
Ver. 2. They called: viz. Moses and Aaron called: but they went away after other gods, and would not hear. Ch. --- Sept. "As I called them back, or (repeatedly; metekalhsa. Grabe has, "he called;" meaning any of God's ministers) so they rushed away from my presence." H. --- This sense appears preferable to the Heb. C.
Ver. 3. Healed them. My laws were designed to counteract idolatry. H. --- I treated them with the utmost tenderness. Deut. i. 31. and xxxii. 11.
Ver. 4. Adam. I placed my people in a sort of paradise, (C.) like the first man; and as they have imitated him, they shall suffer accordingly. Rufin. Haimo. --- But Sept. &c. render, "of a man." They shall be treated like the rest. C. --- Grace draws man by sweet means. His free-will is not destroyed, nor is he impelled, like beasts, by force or fear, (W.) though the latter is often used for the most salutary purposes. --- Yoke, or muzzle, which prevents them from eating. H. --- I furnish them with manna. Can it be suspected that I wish to oppress them? C.
Ver. 5. Egypt. Many went, contrary to this prohibition. H. --- Yet they did not prosper, as they expected. The Hebrews had also often murmured in the desert, and threatened to return to Egypt.
Ver. 6. Heads. Heb. "counsellors." Civil war desolated the kingdom, and made way for the Assyrians. Sept. "they are devoured on account of their projects." C. --- They are at a loss what to do.
Ver. 7. Off, for a long time; and indeed Israel never recovered its former state, after the captivity. H. --- Then they became more docile. Heb. is very ambiguous. C.
Ver. 8. Adama, &c. Adama and Seboim were two cities in the neighbourhood of Sodom, and underwent the like destruction. Ch. --- God punishes, like a father, with regret.
Ver. 9. Not man. I am not actuated by the spirit of revenge, nor do I fear lest my enemy escape. C. --- I punish in order to reclaim, (S. Jer.) and reserve eternal vengeance only for those who die impenitent. --- Holy one. If there be a just man in Israel, I will spare the nation; (Gen. xviii. 32.) or there are some just, like Tobias, and therefore a part shall be reserved; or, (C.) I am the just (H.) God. S. Jer.
Ver. 10. Lion. His power is most terrible, and his commands must be obeyed. C. --- All nations shall permit the return of Israel. H. --- They shall come from the sea, of from its islands.
Ver. 11. Egypt. Some returned soon; others not before the reign of Alexander, or perhaps later. C. Diss.
Ver. 12. Denials; refusing to adhere to my worship. H. --- They wished to unite it with that of idols. 3 K. xviii. C. --- Saints. The priests and temple are preserved in Juda. Ezechias brought the people to serve God faithfully, while Israel was led captive. Sept. "the house of Israel and Juda with impiety. Now God hath known them lovingly, and it shall be called the holy people of God." Thus both kingdoms were criminal, and God exercised his mercy towards both. THE CATHOLIC EPISTLE OF ST. JAMES, THE APOSTLE - From The Latin Vulgate Bible
Chapter 2
ON THE CATHOLIC EPISTLES
PREFACE.
The seven following Epistles have been called Catholic or general, not being addressed to any particular Church or person, if we except the Second and Third of St. John. They are called also Canonical, having been received by the Church as part of the canon of the New Testament, and as writings of divine authority... The first of the seven epistles was written by St. James, surnamed the lesser, and James of Alpheus, (Matthew x. 3.) one of the twelve apostles, called the brother of our Lord, (Galatians i. 19.) who was made bishop of Jerusalem. His mother is thought to have been Mary, sister to the blessed Virgin Mary, and to have been married first to Alpheus, and afterwards to Cleophas; to have had four sons, James, Joseph, Simon, (or Simeon) and Jude, the author of the last of these epistles. All these four being cousins-german, are called brothers of our Lord, Matthew xiii. 55... This epistle was written about the year 62.[A.D. 62.] The chief contents are: 1. To shew that faith without good works will not save a man, as St. Augustine observed, lib. de fid. et oper. chap. iv.; 2. He exhorts them to patience, to beg true wisdom, and the divine grace; 3. He condemns the vices of the tongue; 4. He gives admonitions against pride, vanity, ambition, &c.; 5. To resist their disorderly lusts and desires, which are the occasions and causes of sin, and not Almighty God; 6. He publisheth the sacrament of anointing the sick with oil; 7. He recommends prayer, &c. St. Jerome, in a letter to Paulinus, (t. iv. part 2, p. 574.) recommends all these seven epistles in these words: James, Peter, John, and Jude, published seven epistles....both short and long, short in words, long as to the content; Jacobus, Petrus, Joannes, Judas, septem epistolas ediderunt....breves pariter et longas, breves in verbis, longas in sententiis. Chapter 2
Against respect of persons. The danger of transgressing one point of the law. Faith is dead without works.
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with respect of persons.
Notes & Commentary:
Ver. 1. With respect of persons. This partial respect of persons is several times condemned both in the Old and New Testament. St. James here speaks of it as it was committed in the assemblies, by which many understand the meetings of Christians, in[1] synagogues and places where they celebrated the divine service, or met to keep the charitable feast, called Agape. Others expound it of meetings where causes were judged. If it be meant of Church meetings, the apostle might have even greater reason to condemn such a partiality at that time than at present; for when the poorer sort of people, of which was the greatest number of converts, saw themselves so neglected and despised, and any rich man when he came thither so caressed and honoured, this might prove a discouragement to the meaner sort of people, and an obstacle to their conversion. But if we expound it of meetings where causes were judged betwixt the rich and others of a lower condition, (which exposition the text seems to favour) the fault might be still greater, when the judges gave sentence in favour of great and rich men, biassed thereunto by the unjust regard they had for men rich and powerful. This was a transgression of the law: (Leviticus xix. 15.) Respect not the person of the poor, nor honour the countenance of the mighty. But judge thy neighbour according to justice. See also Deuteronomy i. 17. (Witham) --- Respect, &c. The meaning is, that in matters relating to faith, the administering of the sacraments and other spiritual functions in God's Church, there should be no respect of persons: but that the souls of the poor should be as much regarded as those of the rich. ([Deuteronomy?] Chap. i. 17) (Challoner)
Note 1:
Ver. 1. In conventum vestrum, eis ten sunagogen umon. Synagogue is also taken for a meeting of kings, judges, &c. See Matthew x. 17.
2 For if there come into your assembly a man having a gold ring, in splendid attire, and there come in also a poor man in mean dress,
Ver. 2. No explanation given.
3 And you fix your eyes on him that is clothed with the splendid robe, and say to him: Sit thou here in a good place: and say to the poor man: Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool:
Ver. 3. No explanation given.
4 Do you not judge within yourselves, and are become judges of unjust thoughts?
Ver. 4. Are become judges of (or with ) unjust thoughts,[2] when against justice you favour the rich. Or, if in Church assemblies you discover a wrong and partial judgment in your minds and thoughts, by the high value and esteem you shew to the rich on account of their riches, and the contempt you have of poverty and of the poor, when they are perhaps more deserving in the sight of God, who hath chosen them who are rich in faith, whom he hath made his adoptive children, and heirs of his kingdom. These are much the greater riches: this is a dignity far surpassing that of the greatest king or emperor. And you have less reason to shew such distinguishing marks of honour and esteem for the rich of this world, since it is they who by might and violence oppress you, draw you to judgment-seats: and they are less worthy of your honour and esteem, when by their scandalous behaviour they blaspheme, or cause to be blasphemed and ill-spoken of, the good and holy name of God, which is invoked upon you. (Witham)
Note 2:
Ver. 4. Judices cogitationum iniquarum: it is the same in the Greek, kritai dialogismon poneron: the sense is, Judices inique cogitantes.
5 Hearken, my dearest brethren, hath not God chosen the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which God hath promised to them that love him?
Ver. 5. No explanation given.
6 But you have dishonoured the poor. Do not the rich oppress you by might; and do not they draw you before the judgment-seats?
Ver. 6. No explanation given.
7 Do not they blaspheme the good name that is invoked upon you?
Ver. 7. No explanation given.
8 If then you fulfil the royal law, according to the Scriptures: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: you do well.
Ver. 8. If then you fulfil the royal law,...thou shalt love, &c. you do well. By these words, the apostle explains what he had said before of the particular respect paid to rich and powerful men, that if these were no more than some exterior marks paid them without any injustice or interior contempt of such as were poor, so that they took care to comply with that royal precept given to every one by Almighty God, the King of kings, thou shalt love thy neighbour, that is, every one without exception, as thyself; in this you do well; and the respect of persons was less blameable. (Witham)
9 But if you have respect to persons, you commit sin, being reproved by the law as transgressors.
Ver. 9. No explanation given.
10 Now whosoever shall keep the whole law but offend in one point, is become guilty of all.
Ver. 10. Is become guilty of all. It is certain these words are not to be taken merely according to the letter, nor in the sense which at first they seem to represent, as if a man by transgressing one precept of the law transgressed and broke all the rest: this appears by the very next verse, that a man may commit murder by killing another, and not commit adultery. And it is certain, as St. Augustine observes, that all sins are not equal, as the Stoic philosophers pretended. See St. Augustine, Epist. clxvii, (nov. ed. tom. 2, p. 595) where he consults St. Jerome on this very place out of St. James, and tells us that such a man may be said to be guilty of all, because by one deadly sin he acts against charity,[3] (which is the love of God and of our neighbour) upon which depends the whole law and all its precepts; so that by breaking one precept, he loseth the habit of charity, and maketh the keeping, or not breaking of all the rest, unprofitable to him. Secondly, it may be added, that all the precepts of the law are to be considered as one total and entire law, and as it were a chain of precepts, where by breaking one link of this chain the whole chain is broken, or the integrity of the law, consisting of a collection of precepts. Thirdly, it may be said, that he who breaks any one precept, contemns the authority of the lawgiver, who enjoined them all, and under pain of being for ever excluded from his sight and enjoyment. A sinner, therefore, by a grievous offence against any one precept, forfeits his heavenly inheritance, becomes liable to eternal punishments, as if he had transgressed all the rest: not but that the punishments in hell shall be greater against those who have been greater sinners, as greater shall be the reward in heaven for those who have lived with greater sanctity and perfection. (Witham) --- Guilty, &c. That is, he becomes a transgressor of the law in such a manner, that the observing of all other points will not avail him to salvation; for he despises the lawgiver, and breaks through the great and general commandment of charity, even by one mortal sin. (Challoner)
Note 3:
Ver. 10. St. Augustine, Ep. lxvii. num. 16. p. 600. An fortè quia plenitudo legis charitas est, qua Deus, proximusque diligitur, in quibus præceptis charitatis tota lex pendet et prophetæ, meritò fit reus omnium, qui contra illam facit ex qua pendent omnia.
11 For he that said, Thou shalt not commit adultery, said also, Thou shalt not kill. Now if thou do not commit adultery, but shalt kill: thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Ver. 11. No explanation given.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as being to be judged by the law of liberty.
Ver. 12. By the law of liberty; i.e. by the new law and doctrine of Christ. (Witham)
13 For judgment without mercy, to him that hath not done mercy: and mercy exalteth itself above judgment.
Ver. 13. For judgment without mercy, &c. It is an admonition to them to fulfil, as he said before, the royal precepts of the love of God and of our neighbour, which cannot be without being merciful to others. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew v. 7.) --- And mercy exalteth itself above judgment. Some understand this as a confirmation of God's infinite mercies, out of Psalm cxliv. 9. where it is said that his "mercies are over all his works;" that is, though all his perfections be equally infinite, yet he is pleased to deal with sinners rather according to the multitude of his mercies than according to the rigour of his justice. Others expound these words of the mercy which men shew to one another, and that he exhorts them to mercy, as a most powerful means to find mercy; and the merciful works done to others will be beneficial to them, and make them escape when they come to judgment. (Witham) --- Similar to this are the words of old Tobias to his son: "Alms deliver from all sin, and from death, and will not suffer the soul to go into darkness. Alms shall be a great confidence before the most high God, to all them that give it." (Tobias iv. 11, 12.) "Blessed are the merciful," says our divine Judge, "for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew v. 7.) (Calmet) --- And the definitive sentence of Christians, at the day of judgment will be favourable or not, as they have complied in life with the calls of charity. [Matthew xxv. 31-46.]
14 What shall it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but hath not works? Shall faith be able to save him?
15 And if a brother or sister be naked, and want daily food,
16 And one of you say to them: Go in peace, be you warmed and filled: yet give them not those things that are necessary for the body, what shall it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.
Ver. 14, &c. Shall faith be able to save him? He now comes to one of the chief points of this epistle, to shew against the disciple of Simon , the magician, that faith alone will not save any one. We may take notice in the first place, that St. James in this very verse, supposes that a man may have faith, a true faith without good works. This also follows from ver. 19., where he says: Thou believest that there is one God: thou dost well. And the same is evident by the words in John xii. 42., where it is said, that many of the chief men also believed in him, (Christ)....but did not confess it, that they might not be cast out of the synagogue. Now that faith alone is not sufficient to save a man, St. James declares by this example: If any one say to the poor and naked, go in peace, be you warmed and filled, and give them nothing, what shall it profit? Even so faith, if it have not works is dead, &c. i.e. such a faith, though it be not lost and destroyed, yet it remains in a soul that is spiritually dead, when it is not accompanied with charity and grace, which is the life of the soul, and without which faith can never bring us to eternal life. In this sense is to be understood the 20th and 26th verses of this chapter, when faith is again said to be dead without good works. This is also the doctrine of St. Paul, when he tells us that a saving faith is a faith that worketh by charity, Galatians v. 6. When he says, that although faith were strong enough to remove mountains, a man is nothing without charity. (1 Corinthians xiii. 2.) When he teacheth us again, that not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. [Romans ii. 13.] St. John teacheth the same (1 John iii. 14.) He that loveth not, remaineth in death. But of this elsewhere. (Witham) --- Grotius in this place makes a very candid and remarkable profession of his faith, very different from that of his associates in the pretended reformation, called Solifideans [who pretend one is justified by faith alone]: "There are some who say, 'My works indeed are not as they ought to be,' but my faith is firm, my salvation is therefore out of danger. This opinion, which has sprung up in this our unhappy age, and recommends itself under the name of reformed doctrine, ought to be opposed by every lover of piety, and all who wish well to their neighbour's salvation....no faith has ever availed any man, unless it were accompanied by such works as he had time and opportunity to perform." His words are: "Opera quidem mea non recta sunt, sed fides recta est, ac propterea de salute non periclitor....Renata est hoc infelici sæculo ea sententia et quidem sub nomine repurgatæ doctrinæ, cui omnes qui pietatem et salutem proximi amant, se debent opponere....cœterum nulla cuiquam fides profuit, sine tali opere, quale tempus permittebat," &c. In vain do we glory in our faith, unless our lives and works bear testimony of the same. Faith without charity is dead, and charity cannot exist without good works. He who bears the fruits of Christian piety, shews that he has the root, which is faith; but the root is dead, when it affords no produce. Works are to faith what the soul is to the body. See the remainder of this chapter.
18 But some men will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without works; and I will shew thee my faith by works.
Ver. 18. Some men will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works. Shew me thy faith, &c. He confutes the same error, by putting them in mind that one can shew that he has faith, which is an interior virtue, only by good works, and that good works in a man shew also his faith; which is not to be understood, as if good works were merely the marks, signs, and effects of faith, as some would pretend, but that good works must concur with faith to a man's salvation by an increase in grace. (Witham)
19 Thou believest that there is one God. Thou dost well: the devils also believe and tremble.
Ver. 19. The devils also believe, and tremble. St. James compares indeed faith without other virtues and good works, to the faith of devils: but comparisons must never be stretched farther than they are intended. The meaning is, that such a faith in sinners is unprofitable to salvation, like that of devils, which is no more than a conviction from their knowledge of God; but faith which remains in sinners, is from a supernatural knowledge, together with a pious motion in their free will. (Witham)
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Ver. 20. No explanation given.
21 Was not Abraham, our father, justified by works, offering up Isaac, his son, upon the altar?
Ver. 21. Was not Abraham....justified by works? We may observe, that St. James here brings the very same examples of Abraham and Rahab, which it is likely he knew some had miscontrued in St. Paul, as if the great apostle of the Gentiles had taught that faith alone was sufficient to salvation. But St. Paul neither excludes good works done by faith, when he commends faith, excluding only the works of the law of Moses, as insufficient to a true justification. See Romans iii. 27. And St. James by requiring good works does not exclude faith, but only teacheth that faith alone is not enough. This is what he clearly expresseth here in the 22nd and in the 24th verse. Man, says he, is justified, and not by faith only. And (ver. 22.) seest thou that faith did co-operate with Abraham's works, and by works faith was made perfect. In fine, we must take notice, that when St. James here brings the example of Abraham offering his son Isaac, to shew that he was justified by works, his meaning is not that Abraham then began first to be justified, but that he then received an increase of his justice. He was justified at least from his first being called, and began then to believe and to do good works. It is true his faith was made perfect, and his justice increased, when he was willing to sacrifice his son. (Witham)
22 Seest thou that faith did co-operate with his works: and by works faith was made perfect?
Ver. 22. No explanation given.
23 And the Scripture was fulfilled, saying: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him to justice, and he was called the friend of God.
Ver. 23. No explanation given.
24 Do you see that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only?
Ver. 24. No explanation given.
25 And in like manner also Rahab, the harlot, was not she justified by works, receiving the messengers, and sending them out another way?
Ver. 25. No explanation given.
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
Ver. 26. No explanation given.
