So I've fallen right into the deep end of the HellCheer fandom. Ride or die. I'm in love with Chrissy Cunningham and Eddie Munson. The fans are fucking talented too, alright? I've been binging fics and the artwork but there's certain troupes/ideas/prompts that keep rattling away in my brainbox. I'm going to note them here for if (or when) I maybe write something for the two...but (public service announcement) if anyone knows a fic out there which can scratch these little itches please link me up.

In need of/ Prompts
Chrissy gets her first tattoo. A cliche at this point no? I'm torn between her getting this done without Eddie knowing as a surprise, or if I want him right there holding her hand.
Eddy eyeing her up in the school cafeteria or class. Basically Eddy simping over Chrissy.
Anything with Eddie and Chrissy reuniting after death / or in the upside-down (manifesting the second).
Chrissy and Eddie getting high together. Maybe a dash of 'will I remember any of this tomorrow?' as they confess their feelings and frustrations.
Eddie loves Chrissy in a sundress. The more feminine, girly, and flouncy the better. He wants to get his hands under it.
He also loves her in a Hellfire top. Anything really that marks her subtly as his.
Other character POV's watching them flirt. Sweet sweet music to my...eyes?
He loves it when she wears one of his rings. She has plenty of her own jewelry (and it's all real gold/expensive/fit for a princess) but it doesn't mean anything really. Her eyes light up at his rings, though.
Together they create a D&D character for her to practice with. They discuss what type she's most likely to be (Eddie's a bard right?). I'm feeling Chrissy might also have that bard energy (she's THE hype girl, right?) or a healer? They definitely get distracted though and don't actually finish it.
He is a rambler. He talks when he's nervous - and Chrissy finds it easy to keep up.
Chrissy tells the jocks to leave the Hellfire club alone in the school corridor. She gets annoyed when she hears them referring to the kids as 'freaks'. Eddie adores the fire and nerve he sees in her eyes because it only really ever comes out when she's in protective mode (bonus points 1) if she tells Jason to fuck off 2) she walks away with the Hellfire club after).
Chrissy is the only one who gets him to study (and pass). He knows he has a reason to now, you know? They've got plans and he isn't wasting time.
Eddie has doubts about Chrissy really truly loving him - she's way out of his league, after all, so she makes sure to create visual reminders. She takes their photo together and tacks it up in her locker for all to see.
Eddie loves fucking Chrissy in her cheerleading uniform. She loves fucking him when he's backstage. They will want to mark their place in each other's bizarre worlds.
Eddie worries about his future with Chrissy (what's his dumbass supposed to do while she excels at college?) but he likes the way his last name suits her.
Eddie is ONLY soft for Chrissy. A scene where he's trying to be big and scary for the club and she unknowingly fractures this image by doing something oh so achingly cute. Maybe she giggles or squee's during a D&D session? It takes him ages to drag himself back into his DM role.
I'll be adding to this , fo' sure.
Is there an official name for this dynamic? Unpopular baddass x sunshine princess?
All aboard the ship. Ahoy ahoy.

Here it is, the next chapter of my entry for the @steddiesummerexchange. This is a gift for my dear friend @starryeyedjanai 💜💜💜 Her prompt was 'Steve can't get his inheritance until he marries someone'. Shout out to @acasualcrossfade for being the best beta reader there is!
Pairings: Steve/Eddie, Robin/Chrissy Characters: Steve, Eddie, Robin, Chrissy, Max, Dustin, Wayne Tags: Alternate Universe - Modern Setting, Fake Marriage, Platonic Stobin, Platonic Hellcheer, idiot4idiot, Friends to Husbands to Lovers, Humor and Fluff and a smudge Angst
Summary:
When Steve's grandmother dies, he finds out that he can only get his inheritance - half a million dollars - if he marries someone. It's her way of forcing Steve to live a heterosexual life. Sucks for her that gay marriage has been legalized since she wrote her will. Sucks for Steve that he doesn't have a man or woman in his life to marry. Cue Eddie Munson, roommate and best friend of Robin's girlfriend Chrissy and the guy Steve has had a crush on for years. What could possibly go wrong?
Read on AO3 - the fic is finished and has 4 chapters, the last one will drop June 24
Chapter 1| Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
Chapter 3 (4.7k) under the cut
Luck is on his side because Eddie is home. He looks like Steve just woke him up—pillow crease on his cheek, hair a mess, and his face softer than usual, making him look younger.
It's a sweet sight, one Steve might get used to if they actually move in together. For the first time, the thought doesn't fill him with dread and sadness about losing Robin as a roommate.
"Steve?" Eddie asks, blinking in confusion. "Birdie's not here, sorry." He sounds half-asleep, his words slightly slurred.
Of course, Eddie would think he was looking for Robin. Despite what Chrissy and Robin say, Steve and Eddie getting married will change things. Like, Steve will start seeking Eddie's company and they'll spend time alone without their friends as buffers.
"No, I know she's at work. I wanted to talk to you. I texted you that I was coming over."
Eddie’s face lights up with understanding. "Oh, sorry, my phone's in sleep mode. Had a late shift at the bar and only got home around 2. Then I had to open the garage because Bernie sprained his ankle, so I was catching up on some sleep."
"Ah, shit, I'm so sorry, man," Steve apologizes quickly, wincing. "I didn't mean to wake you. It's not that important, go back to sleep, we can talk tomorrow or—"
Eddie cuts him off with a hand on his shoulder. "No, no, it's okay, really. Come on in. You couldn't have known, and I should get up anyway if I don't wanna mess up my sleep rhythm."
Steve snorts. "From what I hear, you have as much of a sleep rhythm as Robin has a brain-mouth filter."
"You wound me, Harrington. Just because it's eclectic doesn't mean there's no rhythm. My sleep schedule is more jazz than pop."
Steve chuckles, rolling his eyes. “Sure, whatever you say.”
Eddie steps aside with a playful swat to Steve’s shoulder. “I feel like you’re not taking me seriously here.”
Steve only hums in response, so Eddie changes the topic. “So, what did you want to talk about?”
They move into the kitchen, and Steve takes a seat at the highbar Chrissy and Eddie installed two years ago. Steve remembers helping with that project, along with Eddie’s friend Jeff. It was a fun afternoon—just them chatting, sharing a big pizza, and working with their hands. It shouldn’t have surprised Steve that Eddie was good with his hands. After all, he’s seen him play guitar and mix drinks expertly when he bartends. He also knows Eddie makes most of his money fixing cars and motorbikes at a friend’s garage.
Still, seeing Eddie aptly handling tools and oiling up the wood had been… an experience. One he had revisited in his mind more than once when he couldn’t sleep and was too weak to fight off the urge any longer to jack off to thoughts of his friend.
“Earth to Steve, do you copy?”
Eddie’s voice snaps him out of his thoughts, and he realizes Eddie is now standing much closer than before.
“Uh… sorry, I zoned out. What did you say?”
“I,” Eddie starts, speaking slowly and deliberately, “asked if you wanted a coffee. And before that, I asked what you wanted to talk about. You haven’t answered either question, so here’s a third: Is everything alright?”
Eddie's probably joking, but he sounds a bit worried, so Steve musters a mostly sincere smile.
“Yeah, man. I’m good. Just… it’s been a long day. Long days. Coffee sounds good, I haven’t slept much.”
“Sure, coming right up.”
Steve watches as Eddie prepares their coffees, his thoughts drifting again as he watches Eddie’s surprisingly broad back move under his worn t-shirt. It looks soft and thin, sporting a couple of holes, and looking incredibly comfy. He idly wonders how it would feel to wrap his arms around Eddie’s tiny waist from behind, pressing his front against Eddie’s back, with his chin hooked over Eddie’s bony shoulder and his cheek against Eddie’s.
It’s a nice thought.
“Your coffee, my liege.”
A cup of coffee appears in front of Steve, startling him out of his daydreams about Eddie. It's the second time he's drifted off today, and he really needs to get his act together.
“Thanks, man. Do you have some milk?”
“Already added it. Two sips, no sugar, right?”
And, yeah, that’s exactly how Steve takes his coffee. He just had no idea Eddie knew that too.
His surprise must be obvious because Eddie's ears turn red. He hides his mouth behind a strand of hair and mumbles, “Just noticed you always make it like that.”
Steve's heart skips a beat. It's a small thing, but it means a lot to know that Eddie is paying so much attention to him, even if it's just as confusing as the time Eddie decided to fall on his own ass to save Steve's birthday cake. Or the time he drove over to Steve and Robin's apartment to make sure Steve had actually turned off the stove that morning because everyone else was at work.
It doesn't fit with the way he rebuffed every attempt by Steve to get to know him better when they first met. Or this conversation he overheard between him and Chrissy about two months after Robin and Chrissy started dating. The one where Eddie had asked why Robin was always bringing that rich asshole jock over.
Everything about Eddie keeps confusing him, making the conversation he needs to have with him even harder, so he takes a sip of coffee to buy some time.
It's good, strong but not bitter, and just the right amount of milk. He hums appreciatively. "Thanks, Eddie. It’s perfect."
Eddie smiles shyly and sits across from Steve, cradling his own mug. "So, what's up, man? It seemed pretty urgent when you knocked on my door."
Steve takes a deep breath, knowing he has to get this right. "I, uh, told Max and Dustin about us. You know, the whole fake engagement thing. Only, I didn’t tell them it’s fake, obviously."
Eddie raises an eyebrow. "Yeah? And how'd they take it?"
"Well, they believed it. Max was cool about it," Steve lies, remembering how serious Max got about his issues, something he doesn't want to unpack right now. "And Dustin... well, he was a little hurt we didn't tell him sooner, but he's on board. He'll be a groomsman, just FYI." Steve pauses, rubbing his neck nervously. "The thing is, I kind of told them a story about how we got together. And I'm not sure it matches what you've been telling people.”
Eddie's eyes widen in amusement. "You made up a story? This I gotta hear."
Steve groans but feels a bit relieved that Eddie seems cool about it. “Okay, so… it had to be convincing. Max and Dustin have known me forever, so they know that I’m someone who,” Steve pauses, feeling vulnerable admitting he falls fast and hard, an incurable romantic at heart.
“Someone who…” Eddie prompts.
“Someone who usually rushes headfirst into relationships. I hook up a lot, but when I date, I fall pretty fast. Robin says I have a trigger-happy heart, whatever that means.” He knows what it means, and that Robin’s right, but Eddie doesn’t need to know that. “So I told them I had a crush on you but wasn’t sure how you felt until a movie night, where we both reached for the chips and our fingers touched, then we kissed, and the rest is history. I proposed pretty fast after that, too, because I wanted to put a ring on the guy I had been crushing on for so long. They ate the story right up.” Steve adds the last part hastily, realizing how cliché it sounds.
Eddie laughs, shaking his head. "I can't believe they just bought it like that, it sounds like something straight out of a romcom. But you know what? I kinda love it."
Steve feels almost dizzy with relief. "You do?"
"Yeah, it's cute. And I haven't told anyone yet, so we can stick to your story."
Steve lets out a sigh of gratitude for Eddie’s easy acceptance before the implications of what Eddie just said sink in.
"You haven't told anyone yet?"
The hurt in his voice is more obvious than he wants it to be, but he can't help but wonder why Eddie wouldn't tell anyone. Sure, it's not like they're in a real relationship, but it still feels like Eddie's ashamed of him or something. Deep down he knows that he's way too invested, but it's hard not to get caught up in it all.
Eddie must have heard it too, because his eyes soften as they search his face. "No, not yet. I... wasn't sure you wouldn't take it back, to be honest. And I didn't want to have to explain to people why I told them I was getting married and then had to say 'oops, my bad, never mind', y'know?"
There's some color in Eddie's cheeks and he's fiddling with his rings, his eyes darting away from Steve's. He grabs Eddie's hand and stops him from twisting his thumb ring.
"You really thought that? But - why? I mean, if anyone was going to take it back, I thought it would be you. You're doing me a huge favor here, in case you've forgotten."
Eddie's hand feels warm in his, the skin under his palm softer than he expected. He squeezes it to emphasize his words and desperately wants to give in to the urge to caress his knuckles with his thumb, too.
He doesn't, figuring it's a line he shouldn't cross.
"I told you, I don't mind. And I get something out of it too, so it's not like you're twisting my arm or anything. I guess it's just hard for me to believe that someone like you would want to marry someone like me. Even if it's a scam."
"You mean someone who's a rich asshole jock?" Steve asks, his voice bitter as he remembers Eddie's words to Chrissy.
Eddie's eyes widen in obvious surprise. "What? No! What makes you..." Eddie begins, but trails off, the color draining from his face as he curses at the realization. "You heard that, huh?"
He looks pained as he asks, his hand twitching under Steve's as if he wants to pull it away but doesn't dare.
"Yeah, I did. Sorry for eavesdropping, but you and Chrissy were discussing it right in front of the bathroom I was going to use."
Eddie groans, finally pulling his hand away so he can bury his face in his hands. His voice is muffled when he speaks.
"No. Fuck, no. I'm sorry, Steve. That was... That was before."
"Before?"
"Before! Before I got to know you. Before I realized that I might be a complete idiot who prides himself on going against the grain and being open-minded and all that shit, only to go around judging people by their appearances instead of giving them a fair chance. The only asshole in this room is me." He groans again, a sound of pain and despair. "God, I can't believe you heard that crap and went on thinking that's how I fe - that's how I see you."
"Isn't it?" Steve couldn't help but ask, stunned by the sudden turn of events. He thought that Eddie had gotten over some of his resentment over the last few years, but it's hard to believe that he sees Steve so differently.
"It isn't!" Eddie almost yells, clearly wanting Steve to believe him. Then his voice softens again, "It's not. It didn't take me long to realize that you're a really good dude, Steve.”
And that is... a lot to take in. While he may need some time to let Eddie's words sink in, his heart doesn't seem to have any trouble taking this new realization and running with it, judging by the warmth spreading through his chest.
Eddie likes him. Has for some time, it seems. Maybe not in the same way that Steve likes him, but it's nice. Really nice.
"I won't," he tells Eddie.
"You won't what?"
"Take it back. I'm still all in. That is, if you are too."
A slow smile spreads across Eddie's face, the first hint of dimples adorning his cheeks. He returns it with one of his own, and for a long moment they just look at each other, the air around them thick with something. Something he dares not name, but that makes the hairs on his arms stand up.
Then Eddie breaks the moment by shaking his head with a small chuckle. "Looks like I have to make some phone calls today and share the great news."
"Great news? Did I miss something?" Steve jokes and Eddie rolls his eyes with a scoff.
"Had a clown for breakfast, Harrington?"
Right on cue, his stomach growls loudly. "Actually, I skipped breakfast."
Their eyes meet again and they both burst out laughing. When they calm down a bit, Eddie gets up from the table and claps his hand.
"Okay, this won't do. I can't let my future husband starve before he makes me an honest man. Let's go get something to eat, on me."
Steve gets up as well, still grinning happily. "You don't have to, I can pay."
"I know I don't and I know you can. But I want to. Sometimes people want to do nice things for you too, Stevie, and you have to let them. It's rude not to, y'know. Besides," Eddie adds, his voice getting serious, "I want to make it up to you. The shit I said, I mean."
He looks so earnest that it makes Steve melt a little. It's not that he needs it, he forgave Eddie long before they ever talked about it, but it feels like Eddie does.
"Okay. Thanks, Eds. I could go for some blueberry pancakes."
"Good choice, good choice. Lou's Diner?" Eddie's smile brightens again, both cheeks now dimpled, and Steve is glad he gave in, if it means he's the one causing that look on Eddie's face.
"You know how to treat a guy."
"I try."
Eddie disappears into his room to get his wallet, then rushes back, grabs his hands and drags him toward the door.
He doesn't let go until they're both on the sidewalk, walking side by side to the diner, their fingers brushing with almost every step.
"Okay, so I'm calling my uncle and the boys today, you already told Max and Dustin. Chrissy and Robin obviously know as well. Anyone else we need to tell?"
The question makes Steve falter in his steps and Eddie, who didn't notice at first and kept walking, rushes back to him when he realizes that Steve is no longer next to him.
"What is it? Is everything okay?"
Steve shakes his head. "No. I mean, yeah, I'm fine. Everything is fine. I just remembered I have to tell my boss. And my team."
"You think they'll react badly?"
With a sigh, Steve nudges Eddie's shoulder with his own and starts walking again. It's easier to talk about it when he doesn't have to look at Eddie's face.
"I don't know," he admits. "I want to say, no, they're good people. I mean, they are. But... back in high school, I thought my friends were good people, too. That they cared about me. Turns out they didn't. My best friend, Tommy... We used to fool around sometimes. He always said it didn't mean anything, that friends help each other out sometimes, no big deal. That's bullshit, of course. I just didn't want to admit that I liked guys as much as I liked girls. Then, the first semester of senior year, I had a girlfriend that I really liked. Loved, actually. Tommy didn't take it well. I guess he was jealous because I stopped making out with him and he told everyone how I liked dick. That I was trying to touch his.” Here Steve rolls his eyes at the irony of it all. It was Tommy who had always been so eager to get his hands on Steve. “Everything changed. My teammates on the basketball team refused to change in front of me, my friends started talking about me behind my back. Even my girlfriend looked at me differently after I admitted to her that I 'kind of like boys, too'."
It's like a dam has broken, all these words coming out of him. Eddie doesn't say a word, just walks beside him and lets him get it all out. He reaches for Steve's hand again, though, holding it in his own in silent support, his thumb stroking his knuckles in much the same way Steve had dreamed of doing to Eddie earlier.
When Steve is finished, Eddie squeezes his hand.
"Did you know that about 600,000 people go missing every year in the U.S.? Who knows, maybe this Tommy will join them soon. Wouldn't that be a shame?"
Steve can't help but burst out laughing. The grin Eddie throws his way tells him that's exactly what he hoped would happen, obviously proud of himself for making Steve laugh.
"I appreciate the...offer? Threat? Fun fact? But it's okay, I'm over it. It sucked big time, but it also made me realize that they were all rich asshole jocks and I didn't want to be one of them anymore." He winks to take some of the heat out of his words.
"Okay, fine. The offer's on the table, though. But seriously, I get it. You're afraid your team will let you down like those assholes did."
"I guess. Which is probably unfair, but -"
"Once burned, twice shy."
"Exactly. Is that stupid?"
"No, it's not." Eddie reassures him. "I think it's perfectly normal to be cautious after what you've been through. But maybe your teammates are surprising you. Every time you talk about them, they sound pretty awesome and like you have a great relationship with them."
Steve didn't even realize he was talking about his teammates so much, or that Eddie was paying attention when he did.
"So how about this: Our apartment has this common area out back. We could have a little barbecue out there with Max and Dustin and the girls on the day you tell your team. That way, we can take your mind off of it if it doesn't go well, or, my personal favorite, we can celebrate that they took it well with a couple of burgers and some beer."
Eddie sounds sincere, his hand around Steve's as firm and sure as his voice.
"That... that would be great. You really think that would be okay?"
They reach Lou's Diner and Eddie turns to face him, his big brown eyes full of an emotion Steve can't name. "Yeah, I'm sure. All in, remember?"
On impulse, Steve rushes forward and wraps his arms around Eddie, pressing his face into his neck. After a moment of surprised hesitation, Eddie's arms wrap around him in return. He squeezes Steve tightly, his hand gently rubbing his back.
Steve doesn't let go for a long time.
Eddie is so screwed. He's not known for making particularly smart decisions, but this has to take the cake. Offering to fake marry the guy he's been head over heels for years.
Stupidity of epic proportions, your name is Eddie Munson.
In his defense, he didn't come up with the idea. No, that honor goes to Chrissy and Buckley. But Eddie could have said no when they pitched him their idea on how to help Steve get his inheritance and at the same time flip that horrible woman he's unfortunate enough to call Grandmother the bird.
As if Eddie has that much sense of self-preservation. It's like they never even met him. So of course he said yes, and when Steve told him, all earnest puppy eyes, that Eddie didn't have to do this, he made up a story about needing a loan for the record store he and Jeff were in the process of buying anyway. He's not looking forward to that awkward conversation when that particular truth comes out, but that's a problem for future Eddie.
Present Eddie is freaking out because past Eddie offered to throw a barbecue for Steve to make him feel better after coming out to his team at the firehouse. He invited Steve's little sister Max and made sure that Dustin came all the way from Boston to join them, with Robin, Chrissy, and Eddie there as backup in case Steve's team reacts badly and he needs his favorite people to cheer him up.
"Could you please stop freaking out, Edward? Robin and Steve are going to be here any minute and you looking like you're seconds away from bolting is not going to help anyone."
"I really don't like this tough love thing you've got going, Chris. Where's the sweet, innocent girl who ambushed me in the woods to buy weed from me and then never left?"
"She became friends with you," Chrissy quips back and presses a quick kiss to his cheek, still grinning.
Eddie, unable to keep up the fake annoyance any longer, cracks and, with a cackle of laughter, grabs his best friend and spins her around until her pearly laugh echoes through their apartment.
That's how Steve and Robin find them, clearly amused by the antics they've just seen.
"Did we miss something?" Steve asks with a smile and Eddie's heart flutters at the sight.
"Nope," he answers, popping the 'p'. "Just the usual occurrence of Chrissy being a menace to me."
"Watch it, Munson. That's my girlfriend you're talking about." Robin chimes in and walks over to greet Chrissy with a sweet kiss.
"Stevie, it is your sacred duty as my future husband to defend me!" Eddie cries out as Steve just stands there watching them with amusement.
"Oh no, no, no. I refuse to be dragged into this."
Robin actually cackles like some kind of supervillain. "Damn right. Steve knows I have access to his hair products and I have no qualms about using that knowledge against him."
Eddie throws up his arms and stalks off to the kitchen to get the things they need for the barbecue.
Later, he stands by the grill, watching Steve flip burgers with the ease of someone who’s done it a thousand times. The backyard is filled with the people closest to Steve and him, their laughter and conversation filling the common area. Eddie's heart feels incredibly full at the sight.
He nudges Steve gently. "You okay? You haven't said a word about how it went. Has me a bit worried, to be honest."
Steve nods, though Eddie can see the pensiveness in his eyes. "Yeah, I'm good. I guess it went better than I thought it would. They hated that I didn't tell them sooner, but Jim talked some sense into them. He said I didn't owe them anything and that he was sure I had my reasons."
Eddie gives him a reassuring smile. "They'll understand when you tell them what you told me. And even if you don't, it sounds like they care a great deal about you. They'll get over it."
Steve takes a deep breath and nods. "I hope you're right." Then he looks at Eddie through his lashes, a wry twist to his mouth indicating Steve thinks Eddie won't like what's coming next. "I might have invited them all to our wedding. Y'know, to make it up to them. But I'm sure I could tell them -"
"That's fine, Steve. Really. In fact, I didn't expect anything else. I was hoping Uncle Wayne would have someone his age at the wedding to talk to, and your captain sounds like the perfect guy for the job."
Eddie quickly begins to realize that he would do anything for Steve, as long as it meant Steve would look at him the way he does now. His hazel eyes are all soft and warm, the little smile that curls the corners of his mouth almost intimate. They lean in close, both gazing at each other, lost in their own little orbit. So close, Eddie can see the freckles on the bridge of Steve's nose and the swirls of gold and green in his eyes. It wouldn't take much to bridge the gap between them, just a slight tilt of his head, a few inches of space he'd need to push forward. Just a few teeny-tiny inches...
"Ew, gross! Get a room, you two. There are children present." Max's voice cuts through the thickening tension between them, startling them apart.
Steve looks at her sternly, his hands on his hips and a scowl on his face. "Excuse me?"
Eddie, on the other hand, just sticks his tongue out at her.
Dustin, who had been talking with Robin, also turns toward them, adding his own two cents. "I can't believe I didn't call this. You two are so obvious, it's embarrassing."
Usually, Eddie would tell Dustin off for his tone, maybe even tease him about missing all the clues with that genius brain of his, but that would be risky. Sure, maybe there had been clues from his side, but he sure as hell doesn’t want Steve to know that. So instead of doing one of his favorite things in the world—teasing Dustin—he keeps quiet and just rolls his eyes at him.
Steve, however, chooses a different approach. He ignores both his little sister and Dustin in favor of continuing their conversation.
"So, how did your uncle take the news of your betrothal?"
The phrasing makes Eddie laugh. "Stevie, you sound like Birdie and Chrissy made you watch Pride and Prejudice with them." When Steve doesn’t respond, only his cheeks slightly reddening, Eddie can’t help but cackle. "They did, didn’t they? Don’t worry, I’ve been swooning over Mr. Darcy since I was a teenager. I'm happy to be your Elizabeth Bennet."
For a moment, Eddie's afraid he said too much, revealed too much. But Steve’s just smiling at him like the thought amuses him, so Eddie thinks they’re good. He really hopes so, because now that Steve mentioned his talk with Wayne, he remembers the old man’s words.
When Eddie had told him about the wedding, asking if he’d come, his uncle had been surprisingly unsurprised.
"It’s that Steve fella you’re always going on about, isn’t it?" he had asked, like he’d been waiting for something like that to happen. It had made Eddie cringe. Seems like he had talked a lot more about Steve than he thought he had.
"How’d you know?" Eddie still had to ask.
"Because you’ve been smitten with that boy for years and he would be stupid not to want you back. And my nephew doesn’t fall for stupid."
It was then that Eddie had wished more than ever that he could tell Wayne the truth, ask his advice. But just like Steve, he didn’t want to pull his only family that mattered to him into his mess. Besides, Wayne sounded so happy that Eddie finally got to have the love he deserves that Eddie couldn’t bring himself to tell him that no, Steve just needed him. Liked him, maybe, from the looks of it, but not love. Never love, not for Eddie.
"Hello, Earth to Eddie. Do you copy?" Steve asks, sounding once again like the nerd Eddie knows he secretly is after years of hanging out with Dustin Henderson.
"Yeah, sorry, just remembered that I have to put the garbage bin out tomorrow."
Steve looks a bit doubtful but lets it drop. "So, your talk with your uncle, how did it go?"
"It went well. He’s excited to meet you."
Another of those soft smiles graces Steve’s face, and Eddie learns that he’s quickly becoming addicted to causing them. "Good, that’s good. Me too. He sounds great."
Only two more weeks until the most important person in his life and the guy he’s secretly in love with, whom he’s fake marrying, will meet. What could possibly go wrong?

Hellcheer Hallmark Holiday
Alrighty friends, I am doing a poll (that's not really a poll) inspired by a post I saw floating around on here awhile back. I want to do a Christmas shortfic (maybe a oneshot, maybe a two- or threeshot) for hellcheer, but I don’t have an idea with that ✨️sizzle✨️ that makes the fingers go clickety click on the keyboard. SO. I'm crowdsourcing said sizzle! In the comments below, I'd love for you to write one word/phrase answers to three questions to help me set and plot my shortfic:
Job: what cheesy or classic employment does one of our mains have? (I reserve the right to pick WHICH main gets said job 😏)
Side character: what ST beloved MUST be in this fic? (You may elaborate here, but I might finagle it a bit to my liking 😉)
Plot device: what classic hallmark shenaniganry should I include to get our intrepid mains together? (This is a lighthearted/fluffier fic, so nothing too devastating pls)
You have until... whenever I say... to offer suggestions! Thanks in advance, my loves!

the very first night part two
OR: the one where Chrissy joins Corroded Coffin, a 5+1 fic wc: 1086 | rating: M | pairing: hellcheer | modern au | AO3 written for @strangerthingsreversebigbang art inspiration by @sunflowerharrington beta'd by @just-my-latest-hyperfixation
2. after the band gets signed
When Chrissy made the decision to join Corroded Coffin, something so far out of her comfort zone that it had initially felt like a mistake, she never anticipated actually getting anywhere. The only expectation on her list was: have fun.
Sitting at a table far too large for the number of people at it now, she thinks she might have to reevaluate that list. It’s also the only time in her life she’s been glad her father is a lawyer. Mostly because none of them had been able to make heads or tails of the contract they’d been given, and Chrissy, at least, had given it her best shot.
So she’d called home and asked for help.
It’s a rare thing these days, her asking her parents for any sort of help, but this is something she wants to work out no matter what. It’s given her purpose in a way none of her other activities or hobbies growing up did. It’s given her people that she can’t imagine her future without in a way none of her friends in school ever had.
It’s made her happy, and if asking her dad to read a contract keeps it that way, it’s just a small sacrifice to make.
The fact that he agrees initially surprises Chrissy, but she doesn’t question it. She just takes it for what it is, the pair of eyes they need to make sure they’re not getting screwed over. And as things turn out, they’re not getting screwed over. Sooner than later, the contract has all five of their signatures alongside the necessary parties and the band decides to go out and celebrate.
“I can’t believe we just did that,” Jeff says as the five of them pile in around a table at the first bar they find. “Did we really just do that?”
“Hell yeah we did!” Grant crows with the widest grin Chrissy’s ever seen on him.
A familiar arm finds its home around her shoulder and she feels herself being jostled against Eddie’s side as he grins at all of them. “I always knew we could do it,” he announces proudly. “Just had to find the right lure.”
He jostles Chrissy again, enough that she gets the hint he’s talking about her and she grins too. “This is just the start. We still have a lot of work to do,” she points out but the smile in her voice doesn’t fade. “There are no better people I’d rather do it with.”
The rest of the band raises a collective cheer at her words. “I’ll drink to that,” Gareth declares. “First round on me.”
Then he’s gone before any of them can protest, not that any of them try to anyway. Chrissy takes the moment to look around at her bandmates, to feed off their infectious excitement and mix it with her own. It feels good, it feels right. She doesn’t know how she got so lucky.
Eddie’s still pressing her into his side and she takes the chance to rest her head on his shoulder. “Comfy?” he asks as he glances down at her.
Chrissy nods, grinning back up at him. “Perfect,” she confirms.
Though she’s not sure she is actually perfect. Things could always be better. There are things she’s found herself yearning for in the last several months of gig after gig, words left unspoken and actions unexplained. But she’s never found just the right moment to ask Eddie about them. There’s always something going on or someone poking their head in every time she thinks they’re about to make it somewhere new.
But Chrissy still can’t complain. Even if she never gets her answers, she thinks she can still be happy. Her life finally means something on her terms, and that’s more than she could have ever asked for. Especially since she hadn’t asked. It had simply been handed to her over an overheard moment in a hallway that feels a million years ago already.
Gareth comes back with the round of drinks a moment later, and the rest of the night passes in a wild, excited, and somewhat tipsy blur. Chrissy finds herself pressing against Eddie’s side for the majority of the night, except the times he bounces away to grab the next round of drinks. The energy between the five of them is contagious and carries them well into the night.
Stumbling out of the bar as a group several hours later, laughing and shoving at each other, the band finally say their good nights, grabbing various rides back to their homes depending on the direction they needed to go.
“Let me take you home,” Eddie says in Chrissy’s ear as the other boys wave out of car windows.
“We live in opposite directions!” Chrissy protests weakly, because honestly she doesn’t mind the sentiment. In fact, she appreciates it.
“Gotta make sure my best girl gets home safe, though,” Eddie argues back.
The words light up in Chrissy’s chest, somewhere between her heart and her stomach, with an intensity she’s missed recently. It pulls her back to the night of her first show, when she thought they were maybe at the start of something more. She doesn’t try to push it away again.
Instead she just nods and tucks herself into Eddie’s side, waiting as he calls a ride for the two of them, only moving when he nudges her to get settled once it arrives. The ride to her place is quiet, comfortably so but there’s a spark trying to ignite in the air between them, even though the two of them aren’t touching anymore.
Once they arrive, Chrissy gets herself from the car and hesitates. “Do you want to come in?” she asks softly, offering a hand back out to Eddie.
Eddie, for what it’s worth, doesn’t seem to have the same hesitation, taking her hand with a smile. “I’d love that,” he tells her as they head into the building.
It’s not the first time she’s had Eddie over, but it is the first time it’s just the two of them. Usually it’s the whole band, alternating homes each time they meet up. The electricity that’s been crackling between the two of them flares up with new life as they make their way to the door of Chrissy’s apartment.
Once Chrissy lets the two of them in, she turns to Eddie. “Probably not up for more drinks, are you?” she teases with a smile. “But I can offer a snack or two or three, if you’d like that.”
“That sounds wonderful, dinner feels ages ago.”
“It was!” Chrissy giggles as she leads the way to her kitchen.
The space is small, pressing the two of them together as they try to share it, but Chrissy doesn’t mind. She also doesn’t mind the silence that hangs between them again. Being able to be quiet feels just as important as being able to talk to them. Especially if it’s going to move anywhere besides friendship. And Chrissy thinks she wants that rather badly at this point. She really, really does. And it’s not the few drinks from the bar talking for her.
The silence stretches between them, with Chrissy trying to work up the courage to say something or do something. But then Eddie’s glancing at the clock and back at her with a smile. “I should probably… head home myself. Don’t want to keep you up too late, you know?” he says.
It’s nearly enough to get Chrissy inviting him to stay the night, but only nearly. She’s not sure she’s brave enough to make a move yet or brave enough to face the morning if nothing happens. “Yeah!” she agrees with a nod. “Yeah, uh, if you’re sure.”
“I’ll call you tomorrow,” Eddie promises, tucking a piece of her hair back and sending a jolt down her whole body.
Then he’s kissing her cheek and out the door before she even has a chance to process it. If she wasn’t already sure that Eddie feels the same energy she does, Chrissy is very sure now.

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @hilarychuff thank you! <3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
11! For now:)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
75,643
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Stranger Things for now! I would love to branch out but the hyperfocus does what it wants and I am just along for the ride!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I'm Stupid (Do Me) Steddie/M/Getting together/first time (first one I wrote of them!)
All you have is your fire (and the place you need to reach) Hellcheerington/E/Sex Pollen
Five times Steve Walked in on Eddie and Chrissy (And one time they walked in on him) Hellcheer + Hellcheerington Pre-slash/M/Accidental Voyeurism
5 times Steve absolutely didn't have a bisexual meltdown (and one time he did) Hellcheer + Hellcheerington/M/Getting together
Some lonely night we can get together (and I'm gonna tie your wrists with leather) E/Hellcheerington/ final part of my Vampire Eddie and Chrissy series!
(I need to start doing shorter titles :') )
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! Almost always, though it might take me a while! I always appreciate them all <3
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ok so honestly? I don't do angst much haha, and literally never sad endings. Its all gonna be tied up with a neat little happy bow from me, baby! I think I left chapter 3 of Bardic Inspiration in a pretty sad state - does that count?
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Orgasms cout, right? ;D Right now what comes to mind though is the only fix-it fic I've really written - (I only need) the working of my hands Where I give Hellcheer the happy, sexy ending they deserve (but make it Sapphic with a side of coming back wrong)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet! Fingers crossed it remains that way! I usually try and stay miles away from any fandom drama tbh
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I am determined to! Like sure I would call some of what I've already written smut but I feel like I'm not quite fully there yet. I haven't fully realised the lengths of perversion/intimacy hyperfixation that sits in my mind! Its an ongoing process hehe
Regarding what flavour of smut I write, its always queer, soft, and a little gothic in the undertones... Would love to do some more genderqueer stuff in the future as well
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not yet! I'm not against them, and I loove a good AU, but nothing has stuck so far. Maybe one day I'll write that Stranger Things Persona 4 AU. (look it would work so well!! Eddie as Kanji makes me feral ngl)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I love that that is a thing people do <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No but that would be super fun! I tried RP once couldn't get into it:( Sharing ideas and bouncing plot points is always fun though:)
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Thats too hard! I'm just gonna do a current top 5 lol 1. Steddie 2. Hellcheerington 3. Hellcheer 4. Lan Zhan/Wei Ying (Untamed) 5. Kanji/Naoto(P4)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have 2 unpublished, lengthy chapters of a Steddie pirate AU that I love but I really don't know how to keep going with :(
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm pretty proud of how I set the mood of a scene - the colours, the light, the sounds... just hinting at a feeling without describing the feeling itself.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I can like, either do super dialogue heavy bits, or really descriptive bits, and its so hard to marry the two together!! ahh!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Look english is hard enough lol
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry potter haha, wrote some truly terrible angsty self-insert when i was 14 (luckily that is gone forever!!)
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Honestly, I really love When I am done, its such a snap-shot kind of fic, and its got such a mood that I love. Keeping a one-shot simple and to the point is really difficult, and I think this one is my best attempt at it.
Thanks for tagging me as always, Hil! I'm tagging whoever reads this hehe - if you made it this far you should totally do it too (these are fun!)

I LOVE Old Haunts ❤️❤️❤️❤️
A few questions:
Do you have a link to your Pinterest???? I'd love to see your inspiration
Would you ever do a post for Chrissy's outfits during the 1986 timeframe? We don't really see her outwith the cheerleading uniform but I feel you would come up with something great
Also would you do further outfit posts on 90s Chrissy for fall, Christmas and spring/summer?
No pressure though 💐
Oh! Thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
I actually have been moving my pins to a new account I just made that’s dedicated only to hellcheer (some plain st stuff too) and my fics. I was using my personal one for everything before and it was sort of haphazard. You’re more than welcome to check it out, not everything’s transferred over yet and it still needs some work, but lots of stuff to see if you’re interested: https://pin.it/1lCFbpQ
DISCLAIMER: All boards are just concepts and ideas, nothing pinned means it’s necessarily OH canon (just so I don’t start controversies over the wedding dress, I haven’t decided on a particular one yet, but I do want it to be a little vintage cause I think Chrissy might wear May’s old dress 😭😭😭)
Oh anon, ask and ye shall receive! I have so many pins for her 80s highschool looks, you’re more than welcome to see the rest on the board, but here’s a preview:
So, we only ever had these two outfits outside of her cheer uniform
So, I’ve always assumed my girl likes her pastels 😝 (the pink sleeveless dress is probably a homecoming look, I side with Captain Grace and go along with her headcanon that she had a yellow/gold prom dress even though instinctively I’d have thought blue or pink)
And yesss 90s fall! She really is quite taken with brown 🤎🤎🤎
And some Christmas/New Years looks, she goes all out for Christmas, it’s her favorite holiday:
And my favorite thing is that being a 90s mom, you know for a fact she and the girls got the matching Christmas dresses from Sears like this:
because she had to, it’s a right of passage 🤣
And also she totally rocked one of these flannel granny night dresses their first Christmas in Chicago when she was pregnant with Livvy:

3. how many fics did you publish in 2022? how many multi chapters vs one shots?
four – two one-shots and two two-shots. i'd like to give multi-chap a go but i don't think i have the patience?? i prefer to write little self-contained snippet-y things.
4. what was your longest fic? your shortest fic?
longest complete is netflix and thrill, but two nights will be longer once i finish part two. shortest is look me in the eye (tell me i'm the one).

all of them! look me in the eye (tell me i'm the one) has had really good feedback - much better than i thought it would. i love it when commenters tell me their favourite lines, and everyone seemed to have a different one for that fic. baby i'm yours now (dreaming a connection) also got a lot of bookmarks and i was so flattered by that.
8. what was your favourite fic you wrote from 2022?
the first one: baby i'm yours now (dreaming a connection). i wrote it really quickly for @majicmarker – it's a different style than i usually do and i just really felt connected to eddie's POV.

there are like five million. there are so many incredible writers for the ships i love, and for that i am extremely grateful! here is a by-no-means-exhaustive rec list: for stranger things/hellcheer: teen beat by @floggingink (god-tier literary masterpiece. i honestly feel like i'm not even smart enough to fully appreciate how good it is) reality and other highs by @chrissy-n-eddie voted most likely to run away with you by @blondiest it's nice to have a friend by @cunnninghams marigold by @hangon-silvergirl dirtbag and sick part of a sick thing by @bettsfic to get my soul known again by @staceymcgillicuddy someone reaching back for me and what a lovely way to burn by @enoughtotemptme if we don't leave this town (we might never make it out) by @astorytotellyourfriends baby, then you're in luck by @majicmarker (the GOAT of demisexual Eddie) and it will take a while (to make you smile) by Ao3 user shroomyystar for euphoria/fexi: folsom prison blues by Ao3 user blu1376 (one of the first and an absolute classic of the fexi genre) and no drugs for lexi howard, bye by @changeyourwholepitch everything nice by @actnatural-ly a thrill beyond compare by @stannisfactions (i also loved the fic where lexi is a therapist with about a million ethics violations but i think it got deleted) orange peel by @charmtion one that really screams and sore must be the storm by @shesonlylittle time is on my side by @wrylywriting pick up from the last place by Ao3 user gigi_originally velveteen rabbit by Ao3 user pastaslut knew you'd linger by Ao3 user crookedqueen with lovers and friends, i can still recall by Ao3 user ScarlettWoman710

Ooh, what's tied together with a smile?
So, this is a Hellcheer fic that I started in a sudden burst of inspiration but have since kind of forgotten where I was planning on going with it because hubris got the best of me and I didn't write myself bullet points as I usually do. But the basic premise was:
Rock star Eddie Munson has made his career by pushing boundaries and delighting people with his bad boy persona - but after starting one fight too many and ending up in the tabloids yet again, his reputation and Corroded Coffin's album sales have taken a nose dive. With a tour coming up and tickets needing to be sold, Eddie needs to find a way back into the public's good graces and fast.
Fortunately, his manager has a solution: America's sweetheart, fashion model Chrissy Cunningham. Specifically, a staged relationship with Chrissy Cunningham and a few public outings to convince the papers that Eddie's turning over a new leaf and isn't going to get into any more brawls with fans.
Chrissy's manager is equally keen on the idea, as Chrissy hasn't done made any appearances in a while (not since her public break-up with Hollywood's Golden Boy, Jason Carver) and if she's not careful she'll end up shut out of the fashion world entirely.
It doesn't take long for Eddie and Chrissy to both realise that neither are what the other expected, or what the tabloids make them out to be. As Eddie discovers the pressures and darker side of fashion and fame that have taken their toll on Chrissy, and Chrissy chips away at Eddie's armour to find out what lies beneath it, their feelings become more entangled than they were prepared for and they begin to wonder . . . maybe rather than saving each other's careers, they might just be able to save each other.
#thanks leah!#I would like to try and figure out what I was doing with this and carry on with it at some point#but when that will be who knows#wip titles game#my fic#hellcheer

First Lines Game
Rules: Post the first sentence of your last ten fics. If you haven’t written ten fics, share as many first sentences as you have.
I was tagged by @khaleesa and @bisexualchrissycunningham. I've also been tagged in the 'last line written' meme and I'm going to get to that one, too. I'm not sure I have 10 fics to post, but I'll see what I can do.
Eddie flexes his fingers against the grooved steering wheel, wincing when his knuckles pop. (to get my soul known again, hellcheer, WIP)
“… now invite our first-class passengers to board. First-class passengers only, at this time. Thank you.” (If She Lived in Space, Man, I'd Build a Plane, hellcheer, complete)
Chrissy rubs her hands together and studies her fingertips, wondering if they’re in any danger of frostbite. (Trudge on Home to Celebrate, hellcheer, complete)
Eddie slaps a hand to the side of his neck where damp curls are plastered to sweaty skin. (Untitled Hellcheer WIP, to be posted when I'm dead, probably)
They’re in the parking lot of a Texaco the first time Eddie broaches the topic. (Untitled pegging fic, Hellcheer, WIP, might never post)
“I can’t believe we’re standing in a line for this.” (Novella, original work, WIP, will never finish)
The first time Tammy Thompson walks through the doors of Family Video in a mohair sweater and a miniskirt, Robin spontaneously combusts. (Robin-centric fic I wrote post-S3 and never posted and now I'm glad I didn't because Tammy sounds like a muppet and I ship Robin with so many other people)
There’s nothing to notice about her—this mousy kid who sits in front of him in the freshman English class he’s being forced to repeat. (Untitled Jopper I never got the balls to post, also post-S3; I hate reading writing that's more than a couple of years old.)
There’s a man sitting on the front stoop, and it takes Batman a second to realize it’s Superman. (This one's from an old fandom and I replaced the actual names with Batman and Superman because I can and it makes me laugh.)
“He doesn’t like to be touched,” Nico said. (Another as-yet-unpublished fic from that same old fandom. Nico's an OC.)
So, basically, I have three posted works, a billion aborted starts, a few Hellcheer things in progress, and uh... yep. Also, apparently I weirdly like starting Hellcheer fics with hands and fingers. Thanks, Joe Quinn's knuckles, I guess.
Tagging @cunnninghams, @joansblondells @deliriumsdelight7 @hangon-silvergirl and anyone who hasn't yet been tagged.

WIP Weekend Challenge
soooo you might be thinking... "pearly didn't you do this challenge already?" and I'd say yes mutuals and friends I did....But what about second breakfast...er WIP challenge (I have so many WIPs and @lonelyspectator12 just tagged me so why the hell not!)
In a reblog (or new post w/rules attached), post up to five (5) file names of your WIPs; not titles, file names.
Post a snippet from one of them. Snippet must be words you wrote in the last 7 days. We’re posting progress here. If you haven’t made any, go make some and come back to post!
After you’ve posted, people can send you an ask with one of your file names. You must then write 3 sentences in that file. If the file name is one you can’t share from (for example, an event fic), write 3 sentences on it anyway, and then 3 more on another to share.
That’s it! You can invite others to join in, or just post. If you tag me in your post, I will send you an ask request!
WIP bonus files: (still stranger things, but either gen or non-hellcheer pairings)
Haircheer
Max's Letters
TP x ST teens
(lol can you guess the pairing for the first one based on my made-up ship name?)
Snippet from "Haircheer" which is my little experiment to see if I have it in me to write a full, organized long fic for a new pairing....
Jason’s focus stayed fixed on Chrissy as he walked up with a shiny smile amidst the chatty cheerleaders. Chrissy pulled away to meet him halfway and Steve glanced away when Jason leaned down to kiss her. Not his place to stare. Steve grabbed his bag to leave, skulk out of the gym with the rest of the underlings trying out for the cheer team, his new competition. “King Steve!” Steve winced a moment, before changing up his expression to a wide grin. Turning around, he spread his arms wide to greet his (unknown to them) former teammates. “Jason. Pat. Seems you missed the action.” “Chris can’t pay attention when I’m around, right babe?” He squeezed her sides in a tight tickle until she squealed and swatted him away. “Besides I only like watching one girl cheer for us, no need to scope out the rest.” Jason hugged an arm over Chrissy’s shoulders, pulling her in close. Her face was rosy while her eyes lowered to the sealed waxfloor. Patrick next to them shrugged, disinterested in being the obvious third wheel. “You know one of the new girls?” Patrick raised a curious brow, innocent and offering an escape for both of them. Steve shook his head. “Nah, no. I, um, well I—”
My inbox is still open for asks about the last post's wips or these additional ones :) keep me productive loves!
I've already tagged some pals last time, so if anyone else has WIPs that need encouragement this is me poking youto add just three sentences to that stubborn fic.

18!!!!
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage.
I chose a passage from my Hellcheer Christmas fic, Once Bitten, Twice Shy, that Julia mentioned in her lovely comment!
In his weaker moments, Eddie had thought it for the best. Eddie ‘the Freak’ Munson wouldn’t be able to give Chrissy the kind of life she deserved, not at that moment –– maybe not ever. Maybe this Dorian kid would. He could shower Chrissy with all the diamonds, pearls, and comforts she desired. But Eddie knew that no one could love Chrissy better than he could. That’s what always brought him back from the dark, Chrissy-less abyss. He might not have much, but Eddie Munson loved Chrissy Cunningham more than anything, and he would do anything to make her happy. And as sappy as that fucking was (if the band ever found out he thought like that, Eddie would never live it down), it was all that mattered.
So. I really love the good girl/bad boy-from-the-wrong-side-of-the-tracks dynamic. And Hellcheer has it in spades. So, of course, Eddie worries that he won't be able to give Chrissy the life she deserves. The material things, at least. She's a five-bedroom colonial, he's trailer park, y'know?
But Eddie would love Chrissy so much, and so much better than the other people in her life, that he can't help it. She's it for him. And yeah, money might be tight for a few years, but they'll get through.
(And if you ask Chrissy, she doesn't need fancy things anyway. She just needs Eddie.)

TMI Tuesday
WELP I had a migraine yesterday, which forced me to use my second to last sick day for the year. On the bright side, I got over 1k words written for my Hellcheer vampire oneshot. If all goes to plan, I should have it out later this week - possibly broken up into smaller chapters. We’ll see.
My Rumbelle Pushing Daisies AU will NOT be done before the end of the month as I’d hoped. This “oneshot” is definitely going to be 2-4 chapters long. My plan is to finish the story as a whole and post the chapters on a weekly schedule.
And actually, this might be what I do for my (relatively) short stories from here on out: write them to completion and post chapters weekly. Maybe it’ll result in more finished works. Or maybe I’ll get frustrated and either lose interest or post what I’ve got, resulting in another WIP. We’ll see!
I also have my Snamione oneshot, which is a struggle, tbh. I haven’t really entered Snamione fandom spaces, so I don’t know what the popular headcanons are. Also, this is a PWP sequel to another author’s fic, which is a lot of pressure because 1.) I don’t do PWP and 2.) if this author doesn’t like it, I will die a little inside. So. There’s that.
Anyway! A little over a week until September, when I can start my next Hellcheer “oneshot” (which will definitely be a multichap but I’m tricking myself into writing it all at once).
If this post seems more rambly than usual it’s because it’s almost 3am and I’m still coming down from a migraine. So… yeah. Hop into my inbox!

✍️ for Peri, Ada and Mika pls! (From the in-canon ask game, if you're still doing that)
✍️: Overall, how does the fandom treat you? Are you a beloved character, or hated? Are you popular, or a minor side character? Anything in between?
Ada: I don't think Ada would be that popular. I think fandom would like Hector and Maeve better, but she would have some loyal fans of whom she would be their poorest little meow-meow. I would consider her a second or third lead since the Maeve storyline seems to be b-plot. I also think Fandom would villainize her in a lot of Hector x Maeve fics.
Mika: Mika would be pretty popular and well loved. That being said so is Eddie and she would also be villainized in fic to make Steddie, HellCheer and x reader content. But like the HellCheer shippers Eddie and Mika would have a plethora of fic and content devoted to them.
Now I'm still working on Cori, so this might change: Cori starts out as a minor character in the second half of season one when she shows up in flashbacks then at Meat Cute, and ends up screwing Blaine in the bathroom. In season 2 she slowly starts to become a little more of a major player. I think she'd have a bunch of horny fans that would give her the anime babygirl treatment.
And I mean the dumbed down bimbo thing because she likes soft colors and is sexualy forward with what she wants. Thankfully there would be at least a few competent fangirls that would know how to write her.
While there are some Blaine x reader fics, there would be more Blaine x Cori ones. And tons of gifsets of them.

Fic Stats Meme
Rules: Give us the links to your fics with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and your fic with the least amount of words.
thank you for tagging me @imsodishy
Most Hits: What Happened to Draco Malfoy (Hits: 231,853) Drarry, post war, A/B/O, E
Draco Malfoy has been missing since the end of the war. Harry has moved on, mostly. But when, years later, Draco is found in an auror raid of an illegal omega trafficking ring both their lives are changed.
Second Most Kudos: Cinnamon Spice (Kudos: 2,058) Harringrove, A/B/O, secret!omega!Billy, M
The kids are at that age where they’re all starting to present. Steve, the party’s new babysitter and unofficial pack alpha, is stressed enough about the whole thing without volatile alpha Billy continuing to show up at inopportune moments. (A ‘Billy is secretly an omega’ AU)
Third Most Comments: There’s A Rumor Going ‘Round (About Me & You) (Comments: 296) Hellcheer, Accidental/Teen Pregnancy, Slow Burn, Friendship & Found Family, M
Chrissy’s made some bad decisions and big mistakes in the past, but this… this takes the (forbidden) cake. A teen pregnancy AU featuring found family, misunderstandings, and shenanigans. Set in a timeline where some of the stuff from the show still happened, but the monsters and magic are replaced with more mundane alternatives.
Fourth Most Bookmarks: Courting the King (Bookmarks: 93) Harringrove, A/B/O, T
Billy Hargrove isn't really big on traditions. But Hawkins is a small town, with old fashioned sensibilities, and he’s willing to try anything that might win him King Steve’s affections. (An attempt to explore traditional courting methods in a modern A/B/O setting.)
Fifth Most Words: What The Fuck Is An Omega? (13,504 words) Reddie, Post ch 2, one sided A/B/O, E
Eddie survives round two against the evil clown, barely. Richie knows he should just be grateful, he should just count his lucky stars that the love of his life didn't die in that deep dark pit. But things are getting weird, and Richie has good reason not to trust weird in Derry. A one-sided A/B/O AU.
Least Words: Course He Did (255 words) Argyle & Max Mayfield, post s4 part 1, not s4 pt 2 compliant, past Argyle & Billy Hargrove, G
When the groups finally team up again, Argyle recognizes a familiar face amongst the Hawkins group.
Anyone who sees this and wants to do it (or do it again is welcome to say i tagged them (i always love to be tagged in fic lists it gives me more things to read)

Stan might be a strong word, because I'm pretty sure he'd like everyone to stop mentioning shipping things period, but all he can really tell us is how he played the character in the S4 E1 scenes vs how he played the character later on. It's nice as a hellcheer shipper to get the validation that he was playing it as a subtext romance, however, when it comes to shipping, it means nothing. It doesn't invalidate whatever you want to ship. Some people responded to that subtext some didn't, neither one is more morally right. But while I'm a natural multishipper I gave up on seeking out steddie shippers/fics because of the the sheer amount of hate for Chrissy (and Grace) that I had to wade through. There might be as much coming from the hellcheer side for Steve, but despite the vast amount of hellcheer peeps I follow I haven't seen it.
At this point please just ask respectful questions at cons, not ones that are gotchas for shipping either way (I want to know so much more about Eddie's character, what's his favorite kind of dog? What's his warm-up song on guitar?) We *all* can gleefully much about in our shipping in whatever way makes us happiest without involving cast and crew.
As a fandom old I really didn't think I'd be stuck forever in endless ship wars but here we are. (Do not speak to me of the old [ship wars] I was there when they were [flaming])
as much as i love steddie, i am also aware that the actors themselves dont really ship it, so it kind of makes me feel a bit uncomfy whenever people try and press the actors to say something that sounds like they ship it. id rather just live in my bubble of delusion and creativity without any external influences that make me feel shit about shipping it lol
i am very much aware that joseph is a hellcheer stan which is a valid opinion and i also find hellcheer cute, but my enjoyment for shipping withers painfully away every time steddie is brought up and he always seems really uncomfortable with the topic. (lowkey he seems so uncomfortable to the point its almost like he thinks hes being called gay or something instead of it being a personal interpretation of his character and not him lmao but thats off topic and sounds like im calling him homophobic but it’s just my adhd thoughts and poor phrasing)
i’ll be honest, i haven’t seen too much from joe keery about it, but he seems a little more chill but i think that’s due to being part of the stranger things fandom shit show for a lot longer lol
i dont even know what i’m trying to say or if anything makes sense tbh i’m just one of my adhd rambling moods and now everyone is forced to read my nonsensical, half formed thoughts lol
edit: i seem to only get hellcheer stans who are liking this post and sending me messages, please reach out steddie fans because some people are taking this to mean steddie isnt valid or that only hellcheer is an acceptable ship)
