You know, its never really talked about how Penelope saw the storm that vanished as a sign that Odysseus was alive and coming back.

Think about that.

She saw a storm that was potentially so massive it could have raised the tides so high that all of Ithaca would die and as soon as it didnt. Her thought was.

"That storm Didnt kill us, which means Odysseus is still protecting us. That means he is almost here or is here"

How would he have been able to stop the storm? Not only did she have unwavering faith that he WOULD get home, but that he was able to stop that storm. To put into perspective back then and according to lore, storms were caused by the gods. So odds are she would know its Poseidon. So she either figured.
