And writing this I’m thinking, what if Charles is dating a reader who’s a HUGE F1 fan and is so expressive when she’s watching from the garage but like Rebecca kinda side eyes her and make her feel self conscious about how she acts, thinking to herself “am I being annoying? Loud?” Yes? No?
and the can she decide she dgaf because she's excited and showing her support to the person she loves?
That was always going to be the plan! Like home girl from the States, she’s Latina, we’re expressive! Even my mother who can’t stand soccer will be excited when it’s the World Cup! When it comes to Formula 1, personally, I am just as bad as the tifosi.
Not Your Average WAG
Pairing: Charles Leclerc x Hispanic/Latina! Reader
Summary: Y/N was not your average WAG, she does not go to the paddock in cute designer outfits, she walks into the paddock repping Ferrari. While fans LOVE her because she is just like them, a certain WAG does not.
Warning: Spelling and grammatical errors
A/N: No hate to Rebecca, I don't really have a set opinion on her like I don't know her. But she’s going to be a major BITCH like kinda classist as most stereotypical Europeans are. Also…I MADE IT TO 1K FOLLOWERS! But this is probably not my best work so do with that as you will.
Y/N and Charles were in Y/N’s Monaco apartment, Y/N was by the kitchen counter, eating some ice cream, while Charles was watching a movie on her couch and eating popcorn. Though Y/N and Charles have been dating for a year, Y/N has never been to a race, despite her being a big fan. She is the creative director of a fashion magazine so she doesn’t have much days off and ends up watching the race on the TV she has in her office until…
“Charles, muñeco, guess what.” Y/N said, sitting next to Charles on the couch, Charles paused the movie and turned to face Y/N.
“What happened, Mon coeur?” Charles asked, Y/N took the popcorn bowl and placed it on the coffee table.
“My boss gave me the okay to work remotely so I’m able to go to the Hungarian Grand Prix with you.” Y/N said.
“Really? That’s great! Finally, you’ll get to see me in action.” Charles said, pulling Y/N onto his lap.
“I can’t wait! I’m gonna be like Luigi in Cars, I have the Ferrari shirt you gave me, your hat, I have some things from Etsy that I could totally wear like the Forza Ferrari friendship bracelet. Oh, I’m so excited!” Y/N hugged Charles and he giggled at his cuddly girlfriend. When Y/N stopped hugging him, Charles just stared at her with that dopey smile on his face. “What?” Y/N asked.
“Nothing, you’re just so cute.” Charles said, kissing Y/N’s cose, making her scrunch her nose. “We’re going to Hungary tomorrow, you might wanna pack now.” Charles taps her thigh.
“Help me pack?” Y/N asked and Charles nodded, both getting up to go to her room to pick out the clothes she’ll wear this race weekend. “Wait, you sure I’ll be able to stay in your hotel and everything? I mean i am going last minute.”
“Oh Mon coeur, ma belle, belle petite amie, I was hoping your boss would give you the okay to work remotely so I already booked everything for us. So yes, you will be staying with me at a 5 star hotel in Budapest, beautiful view and everything.” Charles kissed Y/N “So I’m thinking we could go out every night, you’ve only been to New York and Monaco, so we are going sightseeing in Hungary.” Charles said, going into Y/N’s closet and start picking out what he would like to see his girlfriend wearing. Charles placed everything on her bed.
Y/N observed the outfits Charles picked out. “Wow, Charles, love the outfits, but you are such a guy, the yellow sundress?”
“You look so cute in it, though! Come on, mon coeur, you look amazing in these outfits and this way, I get to show up how beautiful my girlfriend is.” Charles said, kissing Y/N.
“Alright, it’s fine. I’ll just wear your hoodie on the plane with my jeans.” Y/N said.
“And you’ll still be the prettiest girl on that plane ever.” Charles said.
“Thank you.” Y/N said.
They landed in Budapest and Charles drove them to their hotel. Y/N was in awe of everything since she has never been to another European country before. When they got into their hotel room, Charles told Y/N to change into one of her cute outfits because they were going to meet Carlos and Rebecca at the hotel restaurant. Y/N came out with the first outfit.
“How do I look?” Y/N asked
“You look beautiful, Mon coeur.” Charles said, stepping closer to kiss her and twirled her around. “You ready to meet them?”
“Yes, what, should I do my hair? I think it’s messy from the plane ride,” Y/N said
“Mon coeur, don’t panic, it looks fine, but if you want to do your hair, may I suggest a half up half down ponytail with the white bow?” Charles asked.
“Muñeco, why do you like it when I wear bows?” Y/N asked.
“Because it makes you look so cute.” Charles kissed her.
“Fine, I’ll do it.” Y/N did her hair and the two walked down to the restaurant. Carlos was the first one to stand up from the table to say hello to Charles and Y/N.
“Carlos, this is my girlfriend, Y/N.” Charles introduced them, Carlos and Y/N greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek.
“So nice to meet you, Charles talks about you constantly.” Carlos says and Charles blushes. “But here’s our table. Rebecca, this is Charles’s girlfriend, Y/N.”
“It’s so nice to meet you.” Y/N said.
“Nice to meet you too.” Rebecca said with a tight smile. “So Y/N, have you ever been to Budapest?
“No, this is my first time. I’ve only been to (the state your from or New York), (where your parents are from), and Monaco, obviously.” Y/N laughed off but she saw Rebecca make a face so she took a sip of water that was on the table. Don’t know why she’s judging when her name is literally a character from Full House.
“So Y/N, Charles tells me your a fan.” Carlos said and Y/N immediately became more comfortable, which Charles noticed immediately.
“Yes, I’m a huge fan. Ive always been a fan of Sebastian Vettel so when he went to Ferrari, I obviously went with him. But when he left, I stayed a Ferrari fan for you and Charles and damn, being a Ferrari fan is not easy.” Y/N said causing Charles and Carlos to laugh because it’s true, Rebecca didn’t react.
“You must be pretty excited to experience your race.” Carlos said.
“Oh, this is your first race?” Rebecca asked. “That’s a surprise considering you’re such a huge F1 fan.” She emphasized the word huge.
Lunch continued and when they finished, Charles and Y/N went to their hotel room.
“I think that went well.” Charles said.
“Are you kidding? Rebecca hates me.” Y/N said.
“She doesn’t hate you, she seemed very interested in getting to know you, asking you all those questions.” Charles said,
“Muñeco, i know you’re not a girl but don’t be such a guy, you didn’t see the faces she was making when I would talk. It’s like she hated to hear me talk.” Y/N said
“Well, Mon coeur, you two are going to spending a lot of time together this weekend.” Charles said.
“Well I know that but like what do we talk about? Because it became pretty clear I can’t talk about F1.” Y/N said.
“You’ll figure it out, bébé.” Charles said, kissing her.
The next 2 days were difficult for Y/N to say the least. On media day, she walked into the paddock with Charles, wearing a CL16 Ferrari jersey, black shorts, platform vans, and a CL16 Ferrari hat with pins she bought from Etsy.
“You look great.” Charles said, kissing her. “I’m going to the MainStage for some questions, you can walk around, try to get along with Rebecca.” Charles said.
“Okay, have fun.” Y/N said. She then starts walking around, she spotted Kika, who she has met on double dates with charles and Pierre, she was wearing a sundress. Kika then spotted Y/N.
“Y/N! Hey, I can’t believe you’re here, oh my gosh, you look so cute.” Kika said, hugging her, kissing her cheek.
“Me? You look amazing, I mean obviously, you’re an off duty model.” Y/N said laughing, Kika giggled as well.
“I gotta go with Pierre but I’ll call you.” Kika left and Y/N saw Rebecca wearing navy pants with a matching vest. She saw Y/N decked out in Ferrari and smiled
“Wow, if I didn’t know you, I’d think you were a crazed fan.” Rebecca said. Y/N didn’t react but kept walking around, hoping to run into Lily.
The rest of media day and Friday, Y/N tries to make conversation with Rebecca, she doesn’t really cooperate, Y/N gave up talking to her. It was now the qualifying session, Y/N and Rebecca were watching in the hospitality. Y/N saw that there were 3 minutes left in Q1 and Charles was a driver at risk.
“No no no no no no, come on, Charles.” Y/N was lowkey stressing but then Charles made it to 3rd in the last minute. “Yes!! Let’s go!” Y/N cheered, standing up from the couch. The rest of the quali sessions were like that, Y/N stressing whenever Carlos or Charles were drivers at risk and in the bottom 5. Y/N was beyond happy when Ferrari made 3 and 4, however, she noticed Rebecca side eyeing her whenever she was cheering, she tried to tone it down a little but she was happy for Charles because after Monaco, he wasn’t doing that well.
When Charles finished the interviews after quali, he entered the hospitality and sat next to Y/N on the couch.
“What did you think?” Charles asked.
“I’m so proud of you, you did so well.” Y/N said, hugging him.
“Let’s go to the hotel, change, and we’ll go out to eat?” Charles asked.
“Yeah, that sounds good.” Y/N said. They went to the car, the ride was pretty quiet until.. “Am I annoying?”
“What do you mean ‘annoying’, Mon ange?” Charles asked.
“Exactly what I’m asking, am I annoying? Are there days where I’m talking and you’re thinking ‘will she ever shut the fuck up?’ or not, muñeco?” Y/N asked.
“Never, Mon coeur, I never thought you were annoying. Why are you asking? Did something happen with Rebecca again?” Charles asked.
“I’m telling you, she doesn’t like me. She keeps making faces when I’m cheering. Like sorry for being excited that my boyfriend moved up from being a driver at risk, I like F1, I was practically raised with the sport, and she even judged me for wearing your merch.” Y/N said pouting, Charles felt bad, her first race weekend should have been a great experience.
“Don’t pay mind to her, Mon coeur. Tomorrow is the race, I hope to place on the podium, and hopefully I’ll get to see you in Ferrari merch.” Charles said.
“Yeah.” Y/N said.
It was race day! Sadly, instead of wearing her Ferrari merch, she wore the fifth outfit to try to fit it with Rebecca. Charles saw her doing her hair, kinda disappointed that she wasn’t wearing Ferrari.
“I thought that outfit was for dinner.” Charles said.
“Well this way we could go to dinner right after the race.” Y/N said, Charles still looked at her. “I know what you’re thinking, muñeco.”
“You don’t have to change, you know. Charles said. “You won’t really see her much next season. If you’re coming to more races, I mean.”
“I know, but I just wanna see if she’ll treat me a little better.” Y/N said, however, Rebecca stayed the same. Both were in the hospitality watching the race, Y/N was pacing because, surprise surprise, Charles had engine trouble.
“Y/N, stop pacing, geez.” Rebecca said and Y/N stopped and looked at her.
“I have had it with you. I don’t know what your problem is with me, but I am done with your judge faces. You don’t want to hear me or someone else talk about the race or express excitement when my boyfriend or someone else’s favorite driver is doing well, then don’t come to races.” Y/N expressed. Rebecca looked shocked.
“You’re right, I’m sorry.” Rebecca said.
“Good, now hopefully Charles will move up from P7 to podium at least.” Y/N said. She expressed emotion as she usually does and not a single reaction from Rebecca, so much better than before. Charles got P2, Y/N went to the podium celebration, and once Charles got down from the podium, he kissed Y/N, champagne flavored kisses, of course. “So proud of you, muñeco.”
“Yeah? You watched everything?” Charles asked.
“Of course, your best race yet.” Y/N said, they kissed again and went to the drivers room.
The End
Hope y’all liked it! So I’m thinking for Just An Inchident, which if you don’t know, will be an F1 Band AU
I won’t be using Y/N BUT you’ll get your own nickname so you could read for either members of the band (Carlos, Charles, Lando, Lewis, and George/Max). Comment which nickname should be for which band member and that nickname would be strictly used by them ONLY

qatar gp 2024: penalties and safety cars galore indeed. here is an attempted compilation of all the notable incidents and penalties (+ penalty points) that fia threw around like free cookies
im attempting this in a chronological order following the issuance of the penalties but. they were so many things happening so whatever we ball. and as always thank you my fantastic f1 mother @missed-apexes
so first of all. we all know of the max one position grid penalty (+1 pp) but of course, he beautifully overtook george right off in turn 1! love that for him
first crash, esteban, franco, and nico collision. franco and esteban were out, nico slightly damaged (?)
first penalty issued in the race: alex & lance collision. stroll retires eventually, while getting a 10s penalty. he might serve this next race?
lewis hamilton had a false start. 5s penalty.
bottas and lawson near-collision(?). apparently liam understeered/spun and bottas had to go wide to avoid. liam gets 10s penalty (+2 pp).
insert zhou's very magnificent overtaking yuki!
george was consistently on p2 and pitted but was fucked over by his 7s pit stop. rest in rip.
alex's wing mirror fell on the track. the shot of the singular mirror lying there on the track was comical but the delay of sc or any actions taken about it is insane even the commentators were confused
bottas drove over the wing mirror, got damage. the debris fluttered all over the track and caused puncture to lewis and sainz.
safety car for the debris was finally deployed 4 LAPS LATE (wtf race control)
perez lost drive, dropped to the last from what i remember was p5-6, and retired. not sure if this was during or after the safety car ended.
nico hulkenberg also out. his tyres just. gave out and he spun. at this point survival is optional in the qatar gp.
another safety car here. perez riding the scooter can be seen
lando not lifting during double waved yellow flags on the straights (this happened before the sc was deployed for the debris). 10s stop/go penalty (+3 pp). this was a massive gamechanger for the podium as he was stable on p2. and a stop/go specifically... well, as a mclaren hater i rejoiced. (3 penalty points is crazy though)
another collision for alex, with k-mag this time. 10s penalty (+2 pp) for alex.
lewis apparently did a lil speeding in the pitlane. drive-through penalty.
lewis was told to retire the car but ignored it.
george did a sc infringement (which i did not see so im not sure what exactly happened). a fia update stated his car was more than 20 car lengths behind, when it is supposed to be 10. 5s penalty (+1 pp).
DRIVER OF THE DAY: ZHOU GUANYU (P8) im so happy for him. literally carried kick's points this season (4 points).
podium result: max p1, charles p2, oscar p3, and it's insane charles did all that without drinking because his drinking system broke. forza ferrari.
charles is now only 8 points behind norris in the wdc!
birth of gax/rustappen beef ;
outside race bonus: max being extremely pissed at george, saying he's lost all respect for him and can't stand him because "he's always acting polite in front of cameras but inside there he's a completely different person." gax beef in 2024... interesting.
edit: addition on the last point as requested by oomf, in the press conference max stated that george was trying all he can to screw max over and pushing for the penalty. max kept trying to explain he has no motives to screw other cars over, and he's going slow following other cars' slow laps, but it felt like talking to a wall. basically, max called george a fake two-faced bitch (he didn't say this but you know what i mean) and lost all respect to him.
funny to note that this is max's 63rd win.
it is also worth noting that before the race, max had told george on the drivers parade holding room, something along the lines of "hope you and your fia mates are happy with what you've done." and according to ted the quote was actually much ruder. POP OFF
max has unfollowed george on instagram nevermind folks apparently max never followed him
stats summary ;
5 dnfs
8 penalties (incl. max's)
3 safety cars
4 collisions
9 penalty points issued (incl. max's)
1 beef
fia really said fuck your british bias allegations and went on rage mode. what the hell lmao. also shoutout to williams mechanics. you all deserve so much bonuses.
(will update more once fia docs start rolling in).

Would you say Schumacher bled Ferrari? (This is a genuine question I'm not trying to get you into messy shit) This was simply inspired by that one tumblr text post: (https://www.tumblr.com/mugellocircuit/713170981288607744/i-hate-ferrari-and-i-love-ferrari-i-love-ferrari?source=share)
And how they say "Michael loved Ferrari and Ferrari loved him back". I hope Ferrari loves Charles the way it loved Michael, I hope they help him bring that same glory back to the team and back to Maranello.
Follow up question is, do you think there's ever been a driver who lives, breathes and bleeds Ferrari like Charles does? Because I genuinely don't think I've ever seen any other driver with quite that amount of devotion to a team (a cult)
I think there have been many drivers who feel this way. They are usually the ones who had the commitment to stay with the team even through the hard times because in their mind it was worth it. Ferrari can be a demanding mistress but she gives glory to those who are truly devoted to her.
I think Charles is unique in the sense that he's for sure the first one in a long time to truly be the most openly insane about Ferrari. Like concerningly insane, and of course that resonates with us Tifosi, because we too are insane. Ferrari do love Charles as much as they love him and they are doing everything to give him a championship worthy car.
However I do not think he is alone, Ferrari has a way of just getting to drivers in a way no other team does. If there is one thing I can be certain of is that Ferrari will have another driver who is as devoted to the team as Charles. It's just what the red car does to people.
Some of my favorite quotes from Ferrari drivers(current and former)
"A part of my heart will always be red." - Michael Schumacher "Without my team I am nothing" - Michael at Imola 2000
Michael had his good times and his struggles at Ferrari but he is only ever saying one team has a place in his heart. That quote from Imola is especially emotional because 2000 was his first Ferrari championship(he didn't know it at the time) and to be there at Imola and just love the whole team and appreciate what that race means. I feel like that says a lot.
"People don't know exactly how much I love Ferrari. I won my only title with her." - Kimi Raikkonen.
Given the man he was and the many struggles he had with that team people didn't outwardly see the love he had for that team the same way they do with someone like Charles. But a man like Kimi stayed with that team as long as he did because he loved them. He doesn't say much, and complains a lot, but in the end he is still in love with Ferrari. (Also note his use of her yeah that man was so gone for the red car)
"For me Ferrari is my heart, Mercedes my wallet" - Niki Lauda
Niki telling it like it is. Most other teams are just that, other teams. A fast car and a paycheck. Ferrari is the team that you take with you as a driver forever, the only team, the only car that actually meant more than the surface level adrenaline of racing and winning.
"Once you have raced for Ferrari you will remain a Ferrari driver forever" - Stefan Johansson
"There are a lot of fairy tales about Ferrari and how it feels to drive a red car. In the end I can only confirm these fairy tales." - Sebastian Vettel
There is a mythical reverence drivers have for the team. At least the ones who truly feel a deep connection to Ferrari. Simply getting to drive that red car is a spiritual experience for many.
"The red car, even before I knew it was called Ferrari, was my obsession" - Charles Leclerc
"When I dream of being world champion one day, in my mind I wear a red racing suit and get out of a red car" - Charles Leclerc
"Ferrari is my life" - Charles Leclerc
"Ferrari means to me everything . . . it is an incredible honor to be a part of this team that now became a family . . . now my own dream remains, a dream that writes itself in red." - Charles Leclerc(2024 and beyond contract renewal announcement)
He composed music to Ferrari. He loves F1 but it doesn't make sense in his head unless he is in a red car and in a red suit.
I will end this section with the one and only quote:
"Everyone is a Ferrari fan. Even if they say they're not, they are Ferrari fans." - Sebastian Vettel
Forza Ferrari
#another day no one asked me about Kimi and yet I manage to bring him up anyway#scuderia ferrari#charles leclerc#sebastian vettel#kimi raikkonen#i realize I am never beating the cult allegations with this post

I get the doomposting is boring but this ultra delusion state is also boring and feels extremely forced.
not even actual Italian ferrari fans are acting this way * uhuu forza ferrari sempre everything is fine* that you are pretending to be
Also maybe some of your anons are not doomposting, they're just trying to have a conversation about ferrari situation and racing, but it seems like all you wanna talk is lestappen moments from your and your friends imagination.
I like lestappen but I enjoy more when there's actually interactions , some of you exaggerate too much creating whole narratives in your heads and it gets boring that's why people call lestappen fans delusional. also it's one thing to have a ship but when all you can speak about this sport is lestappen lestappen lestappen and you can't even talk about what is actually going on in the sessions, because it ruins your positive thinking it gets annoying
Believe it or not, this is my blog. I control what is posted here because it's something that I do in my spare time that brings me joy. If I want to be delusional about a sports RPF ship for an hour a day because I have to be a functional adult for 23 other hours of the day, I can damn well be delusional about that ship. I don't want this blog to feel like a chore–which it can sometimes to be honest. I love my anons, love my followers, but I'm not a reddit forum, not your twitter timeline. I don't owe you anything. I get around 20 asks a day, and that number goes up to over 100 during race days. I spend more time than I should considering other stuff I have going on in my life trying to go through and give meaningful answers to as many as possible. But I post what I enjoy posting, discuss what I enjoy discussing and that can vary from night to night because guess what–human being on the other end of this blog who sometimes is up for a long technical discussion and sometimes has had other shit going on which means I want to come on here to unwind and destress.
#also the rest idrc but take personal offence to the italians comment#the italians in my life are why i am into f1 in the first place and completely delusional beyond hope about ferrari#and all of them are chronically offline they are just culturally....like that#asks#anon

Yeah, so Charles' staged pap pics in LA came out and people are claiming that this is proof fame got to his head. Maybe, maybe not, but my question is: as a marketing agency why would you want these pictures at all? Most of all, right now? Like isn't the contract renewal matter way more important right now? It's not like this is a relationship announcement so what does this achieve??? There's literally no shock value to this even (except that it is painfully obvious that the pictures are so staged).
Idk maybe there's a correct audience for this type of content and maybe that's not me but as a general consumer of Leclerc media wouldn't I be influenced by what other people are perceiving this as? And right now, the consensus as I see it, is that this coming out at the same time as Max's Time cover directly pits their media personalities against each other for comparison—Charles as the pr puppy who would have to have staged photoshoots to "keep his name in the headlines," rather than the professional athlete he is. Unfortunately, and quite unfairly, Max's cover directly influences our opinion on Charles' picture. His peer has already become a 3× World Champion while he...has a girlfriend...? Idk, I just don't get the logic WME were going with.
And maybe, this is Charles branching out to secure a sustainable future despite what happens in terms of his racing career, but you have to remember he's still gonna be in this line of job for the next decade or so, so then why would you have your image be distanced from your sport?
It could also be that this is his agency doing damage control for Charles liking a lestappen edit on the main (king behaviour), or perhaps even showing Ferrari that he is at ease and still happy after the DNS (denoting his confidence in his employability outside of Ferrari)...Idk there could be so many reasons but none of them can make for the how desperate this move ultimately come off as. After all, only those who would not be confident in their ability to be naturally papped (i.e., important enough to be noticed), would go to such length as hiring photographers to fake being papped so as to force their name into the headlines. [I can't believe this is a sentence I wrote unironically, excuse me while I go hurl 🤮]
But at the end of the day, I just want him to do good and (maybe just maybe win with Ferrari 🥲🥲🥲🥲], but yeah this papped thing was a weird shunt to his reputation. Well, that is life as a Forza Ferrari Sempre-er I guess. 🥲
Also, maybe we're just so chronically online that we assume the pictures are staged and not real. I mean a hard push that one, but I'd at least like to give them the benefit of the doubt. I mean I have been papped about zero times in my life so I am not the authority to decide about his brand reputation after all. [I just talk a lot of shit...it's okay, let's have it stay between you and me😀]

PSA: this blog is closed from tomorrow to the end of the month. i’m off to the monaco e-prix girls trip and next week my parents will come to france to see me for 15 days (i’m taking them to london as a surprise teehee). then i have another trip scheduled at the last weekend, so i won’t have much time to blog in the upcoming days. i will possibly come back just for an Important Post if all goes well, but unless Ferrari (and by that i mean the monegato) wins a race or bernie kicks it i think it’s highly unlikely i’ll be here. friends can feel free to DM me all you want! the rest of you behave. activities go back to normal in june :D forza Ferrari!
ps: hc writing has advanced quite nicely. the rewriting of a few parts is flowing well, just have a tad few things to sort out before going back to New Writing. thanks for your patience it won’t be worth it but i had fun and i was myself.

The Crew 2 Review: Monotony Served Up Three Ways
Arcade racing games used to be everywhere around the turn of the century. As tastes and the video game market have changed, the supply of such games is pretty thin these days. Ubisoft has produced a new sequel to their 2014 open world racing game, The Crew, in an attempt to fill the arcade racing void in the market. To up the ante from the first game, boats and airplanes have been stirred into the mix of land vehicles, creating an all you can eat buffet of motorized fun. At least, I think it's supposed to be fun. After forcing myself through hours of underwhelming races, I feel that The Crew 2 wants to be a Ferrari F40 when it's actually a Pontiac Aztek with some Monster Energy stickers and an oversized spoiler glued on.
Pulling Up To The Line
While I missed out on the The Crew when it first launched, I later acquired the game from a giveaway on Ubisoft’s uPlay platform on PC. I jumped in with a group of friends and spent a good amount of time with the game, mostly enjoying its open world recreation of America as the canvas for various races. I really disliked the way the cars handled and how progression was structured, but I was able to look past those things because the game was free and it was a reasonable first attempt with some decent ideas. I ended up purchasing both of its expansions, Call All Units and Wild Run (I guess Ubisoft’s giveaway of the base worked after all), though I never really played either of them.
youtube
When I heard the announcement of the sequel, The Crew 2, I was cautiously optimistic. If the studio could re-work the driving model to feel like it rewarded skill and make the cars feel unique, The Crew franchise could begin building towards something special. Once I sat down with the game, I found that Ubisoft has doubled down on the lifeless driving and added in some truly insipid flying and boating. The huge map is unquestionably the star of the show, but the Crew 2 never offers you an exciting way to traverse it.
The first Crew game offered a cliched, yet mildly interesting story where your brother was murdered by illegal street racers and you had to work your way into these street racing gangs by going undercover with the help of law enforcement. It served its purpose as a reason to keep pushing through multiple motorsports disciplines and their associated events. Your character wanted to gain street racing credibility as a means to be welcomed into the illegal race gangs. For The Crew 2, the stakes have been raised to towering heights. You are seemingly a random person and all you yearn for is attracting social media followers and to impress random folks in the racing subculture. No dead brothers, no drive for vengeance, and no reason for the player to care. The presentation is slick, but it’s something we’ve seen countless times in racing games, going back as far as the Dirt series.
Worlds Of Promise
The opening encounters of the game introduce you to the driving, boating, and flying mechanics. The early events tease a cool Inception-esque world bending mechanic that is never seen again. Each of these modes of transportation are pretty bland on their own, although the game does offer a cool transitional sequence that lets you swap between all three types of vehicles on the fly. You can be 1000 meters above sea level in your plane and then seamlessly warp into your boat or car. The non-flying vehicles will simply drop out of the sky. It’s nonsensical, but fun. Coming up with clever ways to traverse the environment or set up stunts while swapping between vehicles is very cool and much more fun than any of the structured events presented by the game.
While the game map is enormous, there is very little reward for moving across it in your vehicles. The game pretty much lets you warp anywhere you want in a flash. As someone who was frustrated by the boredom from the race events, I appreciated that the developers did not force me to waste time driving (or flying or boating) to the next event. While there are open world skill challenges scattered around the map that can be triggered while moving about in the free roaming mode, I found myself warping to them just like any other event.
Missing Shifts
Your enjoyment of the events themselves will be dependent on how much you enjoy the game’s driving, boating, or flying mechanics. While I disliked most events, I did find fun in a few, such as the Circuit discipline races. Sadly, I could only play two of this race type (in very short 2-3 lap events) before I was forced to go back and fly or boat my way through events that were excruciatingly boring. You have to keep plowing through the various events (or side quests like photography) to earn an arbitrary amount of social media followers so that you can get the chance to unlock another pair of races you actually want to do. I eventually worked my way up to social media ICON, which unlocked almost all events, but by that time, I wanted the whole experience to be over.
The Crew 2 surprised me by increasing my level of disappointment as I progressed through the game. I made note of the Hypercar discipline early on in my game and worked to gain enough social media followers so that I could get access to races with some of the most exciting cars in the world. Once I unlocked the series, I discovered that the Hypercar events were possibly the most boring part of the game. Rather than clever circuits or street races designed to provide white knuckle action, Hypercar events are overly long road trips that involve almost no turns, almost no AI traffic, and are only good at making you forget that you are piloting a Ferrari. Racing ridiculously expensive supercars near 200 mph has never been so dull. I got so bored during the first Hypercar race that I decided to record the event after it had been going on for seven minutes. I assumed no one would believe me, so I needed video proof. I uploaded the recording to Youtube for you to watch (at your own risk) below.

Plowing Into The Guardrail
I’ve mostly focused on the driving parts because I found the boating and flying stuff to be even worse. If you’ve played popular open world action games before, you’ve probably experienced races in these type of vehicles that were more exciting. The boating in particular is awful, as the game sometimes has water physics that affect you and other times not. You can drive over another boat’s wake and get tossed up or slowed down and other times the wake is just an alpha effect you move right through like a ghost. Sometimes your boat just slows down to a near stop for no reason. Fun stuff. Even worse is that I found no way to customize races to my liking. I’d like to try running hypercars through the early street racing courses or take the rally cars onto the stunt events, but I was never able to find out how to make that work (if it even is possible).
Graphically, the game is not too bad, especially compared to the first Crew. The quality of the lighting is greatly improved from the first game and the game map carries better vegetation and minor details. There are moments when the dynamic day/night cycle produce eye-catching vistas, but it’s not unfair to say that The Crew 2 is a step down visually from similar titles like Forza Horizon 3. The vehicle models are generally well done and serve their purpose. According to tests conducted by Digital Foundry, the game is locked to 30fps on all consoles (though the Xbox One and PS4 will have occasionally drops below). The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X get resolution bumps (up to 1800p on the One X) and additional details or longer draw distances. I played the game on PC, allowing for the framerate to be set up to 60fps. Like the original game, there is no way to take advantage of refresh rates above 60Hz. I played with an Intel 7700K CPU and GTX 1080 Ti GPU and found I had to turn down some settings to get a stable 60fps at 1440p resolution.
Limping Across The Finish Line
While I found the larger experience to be underwhelming, the game does offer some high points. Moving around the game map and fast traveling is instantaneous and seamless. While I didn’t find the game’s menus to be as functional as I’d like, they all look really sharp and fit within the game’s aesthetic. While music tastes are subjective, I found the included soundtrack to be very well done (as it was in the first Crew game) and it made some of the less exciting races more tolerable. Swapping between vehicles works very well and is probably the coolest part of the game.
I had hopes that The Crew 2 could build on the excellent open world map from the first game and offer a strong arcade racing competitor to the Forza Horizon franchise. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen. I feel that The Crew 2 fails at providing the heart of what what a racing game should offer, specifically a fun and rewarding driving experience. All the icing and fancy decoration in the world won’t make a crappy cake into a great cake. The Crew 2 can take a pack of exotic cars racing on a mountain road and produce results that are about as exciting as a round of solitaire.
This review is based on the PC uPlay release. The game was provided by the publisher. The Crew 2 was made available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on June 29, for $59.99.

Should You Go Electric?
Excellent oils are the oils that your body system needs which aid your body system, reduced poor cholesterol levels (LDL), lower plaque in your canals, as well as improve center wellness. In this instance the author is translating the character of an automobile with the personality of individuals who developed the automobile. Yet I'm extremely mindful from the fact that past governments have motivated folks to acquire diesel-powered autos as well as our experts have to have that right into profile when our company're checking out just what our company do in the future," the prime minister pointed out. Tesla attracts customers more like fanatical fans from Ferrari as well as Maserati - both of which this has gone beyond in market allotment - in comparison to like the mindful buyer from a family members car more probable to get a GM vehicle. Trash-powered engines aside (and our company are actually not even entering into rather just how that would certainly create adequate power to create a car fly) it does not seem that our team'll view piloting cars overhead any time very soon. Compelled to operate in a Car Wash in order for the bills to become paid for and as of this mid-day - placed in a place where in charge his beginning to examine him comical, he is actually additionally not ready to experience the bane of his past times - Michael Bennett. Magdalene attacked the garage door opener as well as owned her all new cars and truck in to the garage for the first time. This mid-size car features Android Vehicle and Apple CarPlay within its infotainment console besides its very own proprietary Blue Hyperlink service as well as navigating set. If you are actually travelling with a car packed with children utilizing their very own Wi-Fi-only gadgets, adding a hotspot including EE's Buzzard included right here can easily keep the journey joyous for everybody. The conclusion that Doogle will definitely make a really good pet dog is actually invalid if you do not concur that all pets create great dogs. If you are actually contented your dog is comfortable in the motor vehicle, you may currently supply meals within the leisure auto or cars and truck yet notice coming from outside so they get used to become inside alone. Regulation as well as social conviction (presume awesome robocar accounts in tabloid newspapers), alongside concerns including insurance liability (that is actually responsible when a self-governing car crashes?) are just as vital. The safety seat installments are finished making use of the three-point safety belt rather than LATCH, given that CATCH has weight constraints that could differ through cars and truck. Visibility is fairly limited; you occasionally need to crane your back at joints to try to find approaching traffic, and also this can be difficult to judge where the back of the vehicle ends when turning around if you do not possess parking sensing units. Switching out pads is actually a great deal less costly in comparison to a complete brake repair work as well as that maintains your cars and truck coming from using a lot of gas. As well as this is actually a good thing our company possess Forza 6 to fall back on considering Project Cars and trucks on Xbox One is foolishness. Always keep a straightforward car around to drive during that time you are actually looking for your next car. Steve McQueen's 1968 Mustang Fastback is actually one one-half from just what a lot of really feel is the best automobile hunt in film background. Typical automobile manufacturers should grow and adjust and advanced choices in modern technologies are making it possible for designers to much better ideate, replicate and also validate these brand-new smart styles throughout a singular collaborative system organized in the Cloud.. If you are actually stressed you'll receive removed on ebay.com, try AutoTrader, where you'll have to make your plans straight along with the dealer once you have actually nominated an automobile. The mass of the innovation needed for self-driving vehicles is actually not the only thing that futuristic, yet that is the combination of various sensors along with advanced pc sight devices that makes this function. Their main business seems to become to assist stabilize the tree's foundation - and various other parts of its own anatomy. Its Structure Driving Instructor staff possesses a higher elapsed price as well as appreciate secure driving. Safety strap are actually also given - a safety and security need for vehicles while driving - while the car possesses unnecessary systems, a fault-tolerant style" as Google.com contacts it, for each steering and also stopping, need to the main bodies neglects; plus that unexpected emergency stop switch that guests could strike any time. The shadiest component is this, though: Some car rental companies demand the fuel receipt typically they'll slap on an added fee in the end. The Cruze hatch happens purchase in the loss with a single engine - a 1.4-liter, turbocharged 4 cyndrical tube that generates 153 hp and comes back approximately 40 mpg on the road. Yet that is assumed that was his organization with the gang behind the remote-controlled automobile setup that first put him on the radar from the security companies. I would certainly certainly not encourage utilizing the TECHNIQUE behavior if you desire a car that really feels realistic, since the ACTION practices overrides most of the fundamental physics unit, disallowing the car to in fact jumps off things, and so on As our outside as well as inner environments become louder and also louder, additional people are starting to choose silence, whether by means of a technique from resting quietly for 10 moments every early morning or heading off to a 10-day soundless retreat For more information in regards to that guy stop by the web-site. .

hello. i actually have something serious to talk this time.
as some of you might know, i’ve been working on a piece i call “the elusive hyperfixation corner” as a sort of working title - i don’t really want to discuss what it is about until i post it. i started researching and developing the concept back in may 2021, which means that in 2 months time i’ll complete two years working on it.
logically, i didn’t devote myself full time to it: i’ve moved to france in the meantime and studying/working here demands way more time than back at home. i’ve also had several health struggles i’ve talked about before (special shout out to covid last year, didn’t kill me but surely made me wish i was dead!) and family issues that i had to navigate while being in a whole different hemisphere. all of that means i didn’t have a lot of time available for starters, and occasionally i had other ideas that were more viable to work on because they didn’t demand as much time. take the last HC for example, i read capitalist realism in roughly a week while taking notes and then completed the whole thing in three days. anyway.
this doesn’t mean, however, that i’ve set it completely aside. on the contrary, i frequently went back on the notes and time actually gave me perspective on what was missing, and this is the point i wanted to get at: i felt my amount of source material was pretty scarce. mind you, when i first started writing it properly, i had already done a chunk of work i’d say is similar to the 1982 championship series (if any of the guys who i did talk about it in detail want to correct me on this, feel free to!). but i constantly remembered other places i could go and books i needed to fetch to find maybe a bit or a piece that could fit into the text.
it got to the point where i needed to stop myself because it’s akin to self-harm, truly. it doesn’t feel good, i got paranoid thinking there is stuff missing and i lose out on days that i could be working on writing because i’m reading or watching stuff that will translate in barely a line of the final product. the result is that i got over 18k words just in notes plus two parts out of five theoretically written, but i’m not satisfied at all with them, so i’ve decided i’ll rewrite what feels wrong. i haven’t stopped checking content entirely since there are some videos i need to go through so that i can gif stuff, etc. but this is legit where i’m halting this part of the process. i hope you can forgive me if it still feels like i wasn’t in depth enough.
i wanted to have posted this so, so much before. there was a specific date that really crushed me not having anything to deliver to you - you’ll understand when i post it. ideally, i’ll be able to turn it in before the summer break, but this might as well go all the way to december since i’ll have to wrap up my interniship and move back home in july/august and my whole month of may is pretty full too (i’m taking a girls trip for monaco e-prix, then my family will come to france and i’m thinking about surprising them w a short stay in london, and i’ll go to berlin at the end of the month. oh! and arctic monkeys concert somewhere in between).
i feel like george r r martin talking about the winds of winter here, but i do think it’s important to give the three of you that care a small update on how things are going. please wish me luck! i promise i’m working hard and hopefully the result will please you. cheers and forza ferrari.
