Of all the ways she’d imagined her day might go, getting stuck in an elevator with Xaden fucking Riorson wasn’t one of them.

Xaden’s a year older and already at an outpost when Violet starts at Basgiath. So when Tairn bonds Violet, she also gets biweekly trips to Samara and a not-so-pleased lieutenant in the bargain.

Xaden owns a gym and Violet goes there for one on one self defence lessons after getting mugged/something similar (probably feat. JFB)

Xaden snuck into Chantara the night before his own threshing and meets Violet in a bar 😏 They don’t realise who each other are (until almost a year later when it’s Violet’s turn to walk the parapet).
