I need to post more here I do actually do stuff...
Anyway I just wanna say since I switched to Linux and Painttool SAI is a lil jank to emulate I switched to Krita
And I was nt really enjoying its layout until
I realised
You can basically do whatever you want with its toolbar customisability
Ive never seen an art program with this much flexibility!
So Ive basically recreated my SAI setup but even more convenient because I can put the menus I use most often into buttons
Its really nice~
#the layer system is so hard to read and use tho#which is why im coloring the folders#otherwise theyre indistinguishable form each other#i can also finally colour in CMYK without jumping through hoops#no lineart tool but thats why SAI is still perfect for my map work#i may get to artfighting to practice it more#but im also doing soooo much good model work...

To those worried about their art quality, skill, the program they use, the art subjects they are used to and so on...
There will always be mean, rude, entitled people in the world, within and outside the art world. However, for every person like that, there are at least two people that will be ecstatic that you draw their OC, something they cherish or even a part of themselves. There will be even more people that will not care about any of the things you worry about.
Don't let the few rude people hinder you. Show those excited to see your surprise for them that you cared about their OC, read their info, paid attention to their details and so on.
We value the care you put into your art more than your skill or quality. Take the opportunity to connect with somebody, even if it is just for a moment. Sometimes it may go nowhere, sometimes you will make somebody who feels similar to you beyond happy.
Please get out there, use the time to practice, explore, have fun and don't let people who deserve none of your time dictate your life!
ArtFight has no minimum skill/experience level for a reason. You're welcome to play with us <3
(Don't post off anon but I am somebody who has received attacks of various skill and detail levels and I love them)

Midnight's massive ref update
Toyhouse // Artfight
He finally has an updated ref! There are still some things left aside that I will be including in his Toyhouse / Artfight profile later, but for now, have this
Than-guan is a bad blood hunter created only to be a vessel, however, it was more practical to have him around and train him properly rather than waste resources on growing his body and keeping it in constant stasis.
Usually inexpensive and emotionless while he's on duty or alone. Most of his conflicts happening internally. His mere existence may be considered an offense by being basically a lab experiment, so why keeping up with the rest of his species? He can do better, but here he is, breaking the code once more and even having an satisfaction on it. The rest of the times he's reserved but chatty, very calm and even appealing. He doesn't like wasting his time on being angry or bothering in anything that can trouble his efficiency, he doesn't even care if someone tries to "bruise his ego" but will definitely leave a warning somehow.
He's passionate about technology, making his own weapons, equipment and even creating small robot prototypes and doing his own ship repairs while he's free. Likes the hot burn from drinks and lets himself get drunk sometimes. Give this man something strong and he'll be happy, barely muttering understandable words as he just becomes soup on a couch.

Hi! I'm Orion, he/him, 20.
My favorite color is pink, I adore my black cat, and I love drawing and worldbuilding. I don't tend to spend a lot of time posting so you may notice the worldbuilding bit is lacking. I plan to start publishing more writing!
I typically scower the OC art tag for new artists to follow. I try to leave comments and likes everywhere! Occasionally asks for my mutuals too.

I get asked a lot if people can draw my ocs. YES! I usually draw something back if I have the chance too (no promises). I do ask that you do not whitewash my OC's, especially Mzamaki. It's incredibly awkward as it has happened way too many times for me to be comfortable with. His coloration is based on what I think is most aesthetically pleasing, and very intentional. It kills my excitement to see a free work of art get it wrong, and y'know. I can't really complain because it's free, so it just sucks... I don't believe it's an intentional message of whiteness being better, I will always give the benefit of the doubt. I strongly don't like it though
Art trades are always welcome too
My OC's are grouped by who they most interact with. Additionally if there have been any posts made about them they will have a hashtag

Artfight Postmortem
as you may know, i am prone to reflection on my art and process and progress. herein, i'm gonna navel gaze a bit about artfight 2024.
top line: really enjoyed myself, did a bunch of new things and this was "The Year of Artist Friends" which is spectacular.
i completed 20 attacks this year, including my first ever mass attacks! altogether I drew 28 different characters (incl 4 of my own).
for the first time, I had *users* i wanted to attack, rather than just characters i'd gathered via search or discord. honestly, three years ago when i picked up the stylus i was just excited at the prospect of drawing for other people, period. artfight was a cool way to be in community without prerequisites. i didn't quite dare to dream i might make some real connections and make proper friends. and yet :) here we are! i went in with three 'art friends' and i'm leaving with at least three more
in addition to being the year of artist friends, this could be "the year of clip studio paint was on megasale a week before artfight" because i knocked out like 2 practice pieces before July 1st so i wouldn't be starting with completely unfamiliar tools, but i used/learned csp for the vast majority of my attacks. one i finished in krita (lonnie), and my final attack i only used krita.
definitely trial-by-fired myself! but it motivated me to explore csp, and most important, gave me a reason to practice practice practice. last year i drew almost exclusively humans, lots of full bodys, because i wanted to get a better grip on anatomy and drawing a variety of faces. it worked then, and, well, i think i learned more of csp in one month of artfight than i would have if i was just plodding through my personal projects for 33 days :) *looks at my wip folder with months old files* pretty sure.
ok i'm gonna look at a few faves/standouts now:
came in hot with 0tt0 here! the main brush for this one (froggy pencil) was a mainstay for the whole month. so versatile!!! and lovely texture. this isn't quiiite brat green but this was what made me go, hmm, what if i... did a few pieces inspired by this album i can't stop listening to?
and then i took a huge turn and just used a soft round brush for Desa and Iryna for my dear friend @bobomcfoe bc i really wanted to turn these out in something approaching my "usual style" of late and i feared getting too deep into the temptations of csp if i put them off. and, um, yeah i love them. i got sooo close to matching that angle but ahh i can see the tilt now! nonetheless, love these two, not least bc brookie has some of the most pleasing color palettes to work w :)
then on to Rosé and baby's first vector lines! you can RESIZE lines in csp. did you know that? i didn't know that. i did forget to use it as much as i could have in later ones though, so i still only kinda know it ig. and halftone shading! bc why not? another thing i really only did this once, but want to experiment with more
Rook here, for my new friend @gender-premium-tm, was me realizing how to use filters/filter layers in csp. now THAT is something i used a lot this month! also something i use often in krita. i must say, though the csp options are slightly more limited (afaik), they have oomph!
okay these two are my "explicitly brat pieces"! artfight keeps you moving, which i find really valuable, bc i could have dithered foreverrr over Lonnie's gif here. like, do i add his arm? maybe he should be wearing a shirt? or, what if i just draw him twice, instead of splitting the expressi--see it just never ends. and as i am always going on about, art is so precious bc it is a reflection of us when we make it. maybe for some future artfight i'll redraw this (as Lonnie's artist @wenmistry did for me with Ebon this year), but for july 2024, i'm amazed at how well i executed this for just 2.5 days of work! (i did forget his glasses, which realization gave me a different take on the composition, so this is high on my list of potential redraws)
and then Aagatha. this is in my top 3 for this year. the pink just works so well with the green and her artist added the song to her character playlist AND added the necklace to her actual dnd inventory. like. omg. the impact your art can have!!! how freaking cool is that???
two mass attacks! i was in a silly goofy mood. i feel like i really got a handle on vectors w the anthro mass attack, i adjusted every single point on that one by hand. weird what hyperfocus makes you do sometimes, but i learned a lot from that. mainly that i will probably never user vectors as my main linework tool. there are circumstances it is perfect for, and outside of that i'm good w my raster lines lol
which is exactly what i used for this other mass attack, featuring mostly my ocs. hey, sometimes you need to shake things up! i can see here the style starting to hew back to my "usual style", though i'm thinking that might have a lot to do with drawing 5 people very quickly. falling back on practiced techniques. and by this time i apparently knew csp well enough to reproduce them pretty closely! ooh, one thing this made me miss was the transform tool in krita. that floor was ROUGH to wrestle into place in csp.
purple and green turned up a lot this year!
Echo is my crowning achievement with the froggy pencil, most of the shading here is just layers w that. and one last nod to brat green :)
i've worked in the paper cut style before (both my pfp's use it) but i really exploited csp's clipping layers to make Scraps here. they did make me briefly forget how they work in krita when i switched back, so well done w that
i played with gradient maps a little earlier in the month but for Okanar i actually made my own gradient! really a useful tool for ref'ing real human skin tones to make non-human ones, without muddying them up too much.
finally, Chaos. this actually might be my favorite! ironically this is the one that i made in krita. it was like, ahh, yes my old friend. wait where is the scroll bar. ah, okay, yes my old friend... the line layer is set to burn which just makes the whole thing so warm (and the cause of the red outlines on the earrings). used my old sable brush, a pattern fill set to overlay... my old stomping grounds! but plus a rendering technique i picked up this month and some other random habits i picked up in csp (like copying a detail to a new layer, moving it where i want a copy, and drawing/tracing it back onto the original layer in the new position. nothing i couldn't have been doing in krita all along, but made easier by the tool layout in csp, and therefore now discovered by me. amazing how one integrates new knowledge. it's like magic sometimes!!!)
that was a good roundup! if you actually read this to the end, wow! and thank you! i hope it was interesting... and inspiring! bc i want to read about your process and reflections too! yes you! and plz tag me, i'm always down to gush about art XD

It's almost Artfight season again!
I'll be participating for my third year and as usual, streaming my attacks/defenses on twitch. I converse if spoken to, but generally it's an open room where you can quietly watch me speedrun drawings
This blog will be significantly more active during the on-season of July with art & stream posts, and drop back to my leisurely posting speed after
-
For those unaquainted:
Artfight is a yearly art gifting game for original characters (ocs) taking place online at the artfight website for the month of July.
Artists populate their account with any number of oc references and pick one of two teams to be on. Any art drawn for another participant during the on-season awards points to their team. (more points if opposite team) The winner is determined at the end of July
Any art sent to another user is generally well received, as it is gift art for characters that don't always get as much love as fandom favorites. It's polite to at least say thank you- though when able, a fair portion of the userbase will return with their own piece of art (and that's the game! attacks/defenses) There is no obligation to return fire for art received, so it's ultimately a free-form activity. Each user chooses how much they participate
-
Personally, I really enjoy seeing people's joy at receiving a little treat for the blorbos from their brain. The focus on ocs helps spotlight people's personal characters that typically cannot be easily found through tag/search words/algorithmic feeds. It also is a great practice opportunity, as I get to draw a whole internet's variety of characters and their unique story universes. Quick exercises in form, composition, lighting, color, texture have helped me grow the past two years.
The artfight site also serves as a rare common crossroads between all the social media sites people are scattered on these days. Through it, it's nice to see the next generation of artists (who may typically be confined to tiktok or other newer sites) crop up & send a little encouragement towards original creation
It's a large and growing community, so it does have its downsides with statistics deeming there is a nonzero amount of bad actors amongst the people, but with care/attention I have found it to be a good experience so far
And that's the extended tldr. See you in July & hope to catch you in stream!
#artfight#artfight 2024#team stardust#body horror#unfortunately you have to be ok with body horror to play this game with me#i searched my soul and am incapable of making an oc without body horror#its my favorite spice!#dezart

Another artfight revenge! This one is for the lovely @tofistig and their blorbo Ventimiglia Azell! He was a pleasure to draw as a revenge, plus I was able to get some practice in with how I draw wings which is something I definitely want to practice and do more soon haha
Artfight may be over, though you can find me here if you want to see my attacks or get me next year!

I made these refs back for this year’s Artfight, but never got around to finishing the rest of my characters’. I nickname these three “the main trio” because they’re the three splatoon characters I draw and like the most. All three have a thing in common, albeit for different reasons: they all don’t go by their original names! If you’d like to read character ramblings, look below the cut, if not, you may do what you like.
Things to note: My Splatoon characters are stuck in Splatoon 2 purgatory, so the weapons, ages, and all that are stuck in that time period. (R) and (UR) is short for (restricted) and (unrestricted), which is referring to if the height is measured within a canon limitation, or without canon inkfish heights in mind.
Mochi
Dawn “Mochi” Funboruto
cis female (she/her)
Aged 16
5’ (R) - 5’7” (UR)
Mochi is an interesting inkling, not actually originating in Inkadia at all, instead from a far-off city by the name of Arrecife. She’s childhood friends with Slick, and only moved to Inkopolis because he’d shown it to be a hot spot for things of interest. She’s a Humboldt inkling, but cursed with an unusually small stature compared to her relatives, making her appear as an average inkling. Evidence of her ancestry can still be found in her sucker rings, which, unlike most inklings, are still very-much there. She’s described as sisterly, laid-back, and sarcastic, but can also snap to a very energetic, mischievous, and havoc-causing individual. She never seems to stand still, even while relaxed, quite fidgety by nature. She tries not to overthink, which can lead to poorly thought-out choices that result in unpleasant outcomes. She’s easily persuaded by bribes of food or money, which some of her friends take advantage of for her to do stupid dares, tasks, or for her to not blackmail them. She jokes around and doesn’t usually bring up serious subjects unless she thinks it’s important. She often has to be the straight-man around people like Slick, but also can join in on the mischief. She’s also agent 4, but it doesn’t really become super relavent. She goes by Mochi just because she feels like it, nothing else, really.
Slick
Mason “Slick” Stone
cis male (he/him)
Aged 15
4’11” (R) - 5’5” (UR)
Slick is a goofy character, son of a single mother and always trying to get up to antics. He is from the town of Arrecife, childhood friends with Mochi, and forming a chaotic duo whenever they decide to meet up. He’s quite full of himself, exasperates his accomplishments, and thinks he’s practically irresistible. Despite his arrogance, he possesses a heart of gold, and just wants to befriend anyone he can. He may not be the brightest, but he tries his best, even if it doesn’t work out. He has no concept of boundaries, and has broken into people’s houses to give them gifts. He went out of his way to befriend Hachikō, despite the people around him scoffing at him for it. Despite Hachikō’s not-super-great-but-understandable Inklish at the time, Slick was very accepting and thought it was more funny than anything. As their friendship grew closer, Hachikō moved in with him, and they currently share an apartment. Slick gave himself that name because he wanted to sound cool and dissociate with his father.
Hachikō
Hachikō “Hachi” ??
cis male (he/him)
Age unknown (~16-17)
5’1” (R) - 5’9” (UR)
Hachikō, an amnesiac found in a place he feels lost in. He’s agent 8, and his story of venturing to the surface is one that only some know of. His Inklish is practically perfect in the current day, with only the slight hiccup and forgetting some words. He’s quiet, observant, and tends to appear stiff around unfamiliar people. He doesn’t talk much, instead thinking to himself a lot, sometimes staring off into space and getting lost in thought. He can be quite chatty if asked about anything of interest to him (ink weaponry, birds, etc). He tends to fidget, sometimes needing to occupy his hands by drawing. He takes most things seriously, or as they’re spoken, which has led to him not understanding jokes, and not always pinpointing sarcasm. He’s quite paranoid and constantly worried about being outed as an Octoling, or something going horribly wrong. It’s not uncommon for him to get sick due to being exposed to unfamiliar surface pathogens. Upon reaching the surface, he discovered he had a pollen allergy, which has lead to mockery by his friends for “sneezing like Lil’ Judd”. Slick is who he’s often seen with, eventually even being roommates with, almost always being the nervous straightman to Slick’s antics. Roxanne (agent 3) often babies him and comes to his aid, even when it’s made obvious that he’d rather her not. He appreciates her kindness, but not being infantilized. Hachikō picked his name because he had no memory of his original name, picking one that seemed familiar to him (might’ve heard it in a story once).

I'm Oliver, but some call me Wibbly. And I've really grown to love that nickname :> I use He/Him pronouns.
Anyhow, I'm an artist, writer, weirdo theatre kid, rabbit enthusiast. Currently a very large Gin Ichimaru enjoyer (going on 3 years of this nonsense) and I am going to draw for your entertainment or something.
I do Self-Shipping and Self-Inserts. I am aware that it is cringe. I simply have had too much therapy to care. My main F/O is Gin Ichimaru from Bleach, and that's basically the only one I care about rn. (Oh, and Rangiku Matsumoto!!! Also from Bleach!!!)

PHEWWWWW thas a wrap on Artfight! I'm a bit sad I was only able to do 12 attacks this year, I would've done more if my hands didn't go out of commission for a goddamn week >:( BUT I feel better about that considering 8 of those attacks were 3D models!! Like goddamn I am so proud of myself for that, I even did a few replicating 90s CGI, which were so fun to make! :D (Now if only I can get myself to practice like this with music)
ALSO I GOT 58 ATTACKS THIS YEAR AND THAT'S VERY SCARY AND COOL!!! AND IF WE'RE COUNTING FEATURING IN MASS ATTACKS THEN THAT'S 64
Thank you to everyone who attacked me I owe you my life now. May Artfight 2025 be just as splendid as this one and that my hands allow me to do more attacks then c:

ArtFight Attack #6!!
Ronald! There's not much known about this mysterious feline. How did his eye get turned into the caution (⚠️) symbol? Why are his tail and legs coated in fire? The world may never know!
This is Ronald by tzamy
He has such an interesting design and I learned a lot from drawing him since most of the characters Ive drawn didn't have coats with patterns in them! I had to learn how to change colors while shading while still making it look coherent! I think I did alright but definitely need to practice more so it doesn't look like another line on the pattern!

Weekly Update June 21, 2024
Really I got a lot done this week, even though I haven’t been able to show a lot. Also got out some, turns out there’s a venue a couple miles from where I work, and I went to a local punk concert. The second local band was really good, so I might go see them more. We’ll see, it’s not too pricey for one or two but it’ll pile up if I’m not careful. Anyway, art stuff.
I have a strategy for redoing the rest of the Artfight refsheets, and I’ll try to deploy it for Romeo’s this weekend, and once I’m done with the other thumbnails, the others’. Mikey’s has assets half done and Shaun’s only needs a background and it’s good. I really like how Shaun’s is coming out, I dipped into after effects again to make him glow, and I probably could have done it better, but I think for how quick and dirty it was it looks nice. I’ll try to finish it and get more assets for the others’ done tonight.
Music: BATB lyrics are done , and RR instrumental is coming along nicely, I found a nice Saturator plugin too. At the concert I wrote up a bunch of plans and lyrics for future songs, but those are on hold until everything else is dolled up. If I have time this weekend I might get some VPRs ready, but I’m going to prioritize Artfight and getting my updated commsheet ready until the end of the month. Once the rest of the thumbnails are ready I’ll dedicate my lunch breaks to music completely, since I can do everything but record then.
Other projects: OEB storyboards are going great this week, I drew up a bunch during work that I can import in, which means almost everything up through the second chorus is done. That *should* mean boards are now 64% done, although I may need to check my math on that after everything’s imported. Kyo rig is also coming along, just slowly. It’s stills background project until Artfight is done.
Speaking of projects on the back burner, comic is still coming along nicely. I’m really only able to do sketches for it while I’m at work so now multiple pages are in progress at once, but page 8 is all sketched, page 9 is mostly sketched. If I find the time to do lineart I’d like to, but again Artfight is taking priority.
Commsheet update is also something I’d like to do before July, I need one more practice drawing for that to get the basic grid done, and I’ll add in other options as addendums in the future. I’d like to throw in tween animation and music options, and some math is being done for those too but I need to gather more data first. I might push a bit harder to get stuff done after Artfight, though.
I’m really tired still so tomorrow I’ll plan to take kinda easy, then Sunday I’ll unload a bunch of linework. Tonight I’ll rest a while then finish up Shaun’s thumbnail, finish up assets for Mikey’s, and see what else I can get done.

Hello! This might be a bit long, it'd be nice if you read till the end though!/not forcing
Soo I haven't had much motivation to draw lately, hopefully that'll pass soon though! I should be getting a screen graphic tablet soon, and there's a bit chance that thanks to that my art will improve and I'm really excited about that! Maybe i could even do some drawings requests or perhaps get started with some comissions, no promises here though
Another thing is that I've been getting more into 3d modelling, and while not really doing much of other things, i have been making a bunch of models of my phighting ocs, so maybe i could also take requests for that! My models aren't really that good bur having more to practice on would be great! You could send asks with your phighting(or other, i could try to make some that aren't blocky if you ask but i make no promises they'll look good) ocs and i may model it if it catches my eye:]
Allso! Artfight is slowly approaching, so if anyone's interested my artfight is _Scr1bbleSh4de !!

I’ve been doing some reflecting on this past year, and I really truly think it is the most artistic improvement I have made in any span of time. Of course, I’m going to be completely insufferable about it and have collected my best piece from each month with a few personal notes, so why don’t we go on a sprint down memory highway together?
January
At the start of the year, I was both adrift between fandoms and art styles. I was mostly aiming to find which style I could keep using, finish pieces quickly yet still feel proud of. It certainly worked in the moment, but as I pushed my boundaries more it didn't stick. Still, I look back on this style fondly! also proper throwback to my old username that i had for far too long
February
This was the start of me working on colour palettes. I lay down my main colour in the background and fit the rest of my colours around that. It was a good way to start experimenting!
March
Then the shift back to finding my style- I particularly like how the hair turned out in this piece! I also started trying more interesting poses here, and actually properly attempting hands.
April
I didn't finish any pieces in april as I had started working more hours and didn't quite know how to balance myself creatively at that point. I did lean into this style of sketch much more, which was good fun while it stuck around but ive leant away from it in more recent times.
May
Not much to say about may in particular, lots of the same things as the past few months with improvements here and there! just some steady progress :)
June
Cue the crunch of getting character refs done before artfight, and then only actually finishing one (which isn't actually complete, even to this day). But hey, more solid reference for My Guy ! I also leaned into drawing furries a lot more and have improved heaps in the difference of proportions!
July
artfight baybee!! no artistic differences, but it was a lot of fun scouting out other peoples character designs! I do hope to participate more this year :3
August
back to colours, though this month felt like a bit of a backtrack. Don't get me wrong, I do quite like this piece, but contrast-wise it doesn't have as much visual clarity as I would like. Regardless, a good learning opportunity!
September
Fun fact, I rendered this one entirely in greyscale! This was the start of me getting back into hatchetfield after being reminded of NPMDs release, and lets be real this part of black friday was chilling so I had to do something about it! I consider this piece a landmark in terms of my art journey.
October
Once again no real finished pieces, I was too busy watching nightmare time while waiting for the group watch of npmd. I did do a lot of studies of star wars characters from their live-action shows though, which was a fun learning experience!
November
This was the piece where I applied pretty much everything I had learnt throughout the year. contrast, colour themes, interactive environments and poses, the lot! and also. its them. how could i not
December
A perfect piece to wrap up the year with! Another step up from november, this applied lots of what I had learnt and pushed my boundaries even more. I have been aiming for more realism to actor's faces and body types, not out of it-has-to-be-canon-sake, but rather learning how to accurately depict someone's likeness from a few photo references. good practice for both live-action and animated characters!
Overall last year was absolutely wild. I can't wait to share my journey with you all as we go into 2024 strong!

I just had the absolute weirdest shit happen in the Sims 3??? It has never happened before??? I have the Master Controller mod as well as a few others for minor things, so maybe that caused it???
I adopted a child. A girl toddler. I named her something the game would never choose (Sonic Hedgeho). My dude was teaching the girl to walk, but then he got a goal to teach a different baby to walk? A boy this time? I accidentally clicked for it to go away so I didn't see any major details besides the fact that it was a totally different baby.
I left my daughter downstairs to play, and went upstairs to work, but my dude had a negative moodlet from a crying baby??? I have needs static, so I knew it wasn't my daughter. Then the icon popped up of the same mystery baby as before????
So I checked his relationships and the mystery baby was there with the same name as my daughter???? But he wasn't listed as my son! He was just an acquaintance. Also, he didn't live with me! He wasn't even in my town at all???
I ended up feeling super bad for this poor, apparently crying ghost baby, so I cheated to add him to my household, and he was wearing the same clothes as my daughter, and spawned in my house in the same place she'd been before I told her to go play???
Anyway. I'm attached to him now, so I downloaded another mod that will allow me to change my family tree so he's my son, and I'm gonna come up with a new name for him. Maybe Knuckles Echidna.

Jasper (mine) and Cupid (belongs to @krikidilly ) Jasper isn’t so much a slasher as a mad scientist, but he kills people, so it still counts, I think.

I HAVE DONE 61 ARTFIGHT ATTACKS. JESUS CHRIST.
I'm not done yet, but I'm very proud because I did 47 last year. I'm gonna try and keep going. The stretch goal is 100, but I think I could at least get to 80!

My #1 post of 2022
So, I've never done this before, but I got some interest for commissions! For now, I'm only offering colored headshots/busts for $10, but if this picks up any interest, I'll put more work into practicing half and full bodies!
DM me with any questions or to order one! I will refuse any commissions that make me uncomfortable, or that I don't think I'm skilled enough for, but I'll try my very best for most of them! I need a reference from you though! I'm not quite good at drawing characters just from descriptions yet!
The characters drawn are not mine! The original creators' links are below!

I have blender and krita downloaded. When I tried krita it just did not run well on my computer, so despite all the nice things I've heard I haven't used it.
I tend to default to facing left. I mainly do 3/4 faces.
Abel is one of my oldest characters, as he originally was created when I was in middle school prior to me utilizing him for a dnd campaign (of course, he's seen some large changes during that). A general affinity for creatures, mainly dragons, probably carries through to some extent. My previous 1920's era obsession definitely carries through, though rather than using the era itself as a setting I mainly steal the style.
Abel is my baby bastard boy, and his armor is way too fucking complicated. Malfis's revised demon design comes second I think due to how I had massive difficulties actually posing him in a way that shows the design off.
I post most finished art, though there's a significant portion of time where I had literally no socials for posting. I also don't post art to socials that I make for other people or projects (ex. artfight).
Witch Hat Atelier may have massively influenced my love of adding stuff that flows to characters (ex. long hair, scarves, capes).
Sewing, knitting, and croquet! Massive respect.
The biggest one would be a series of character designs based on the periodic table. I got to sodium before I burned out, but that project was a massive aid in my improvement and even just designing 11 characters is a decent chunk of work.
Character name, one or two words to describe (typically sketch), date in MM-DD-YYYY
Anything flow-y.
Random stuff on spotify, like recommendations. If I have one, a character playlist for whatever I'm doing.
Unsure. I feel decidedly neutral about all body parts, but likely arms?
I respect a lot of youtuber artists, but most of their styles don't appeal to me. The main example for myself would be Lavendertown.
Any excuse to do bright red in strong contrast with something else. Aka blood.
My room mainly. I doodle between or during some college classes.
I feel like I'm best at what I like doing because I practice those things more. Suppose I would say just normal animals and fanart?
Generally just have water or tea.
Not many recently. I've swapped mainly to tablet, which is not broken and never had been, and pens for doodles.
Plants are fun.
Hands. They can still be a struggle, but I generally like looking at references because getting hands right is so satisfying.
My style is all over the place, so it's difficult to say "nothing like". I enjoy art that's super eye bleedy with bold lines and clean shapes.
Uh, none. Not sure if that's bad.
Yeah. The bulk of what I paint is on one layer, but often I may use layer modes to create starting points or adjust stuff.
I just get random images online or take pictures of myself, so sometimes.
I haven't posted much online and I don't remember any comparisons really. The one that sticks out to me is a comparison to Mando. No, it is not Mando, it is just a modification on a spartan helm where the insides are stylized to be dark.
Again, I've shown my art to so few people I don't know.
Not really? I guess I use my rough sketches to warm up, or just draw some lines.
Only artfight.
Don't know.
I'm really proud of the angel carving art I did. It doesn't perfectly match the look of stonework, but I think it's a cool blend of textures and I'm proud of how the shapes turned out.
Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game
Didn't see a lot of artist ask games, wanted to make a silly one.
(I wrote this while sick out of my mind last year and it's been collecting dust in my drafts, I might as well let it run free) 1. Art programs you have but don't use
2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)
3. What ideas come from when you were little
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)
7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in
9. What are your file name conventions
10. Favorite piece of clothing to draw
11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what
12. Easiest part of body to draw
13. A creator who you admire but whose work isn't your thing
14. Any favorite motifs
15. *Where* do you draw (don't drop your ip address this just means do you doodle at a park or smth)
16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing
17. Do you eat/drink when drawing? if so, what
18. An estimate of how much art supplies you've broken
19. Favorite inanimate objects to draw (food, nature, etc.)
20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy
21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways
22. What physical exercises do you do before drawing, if any
23. Do you use different layer modes
24. Do your references include stock images
25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
27. Do you warm up before getting to the good stuff? If so, what is it you draw to warm up with
28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)
29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
